The Brother's Return Empty The Brother's Return

Their were questions without answers as always and this mountain well to say it was easy to get in would be rather false. This place was defended to the teeth, he'd taken care of his sister but things needed to be thought upon. Verathius walked through the place feeling his power echo out through the entire place, such a powerful hollow had arrived. His new presence was rather difficult to put a number on, but the man who'd changed was something else. Verathius wasn't the villain that people always thought a person could be. He sat alone upon the mountain now, things weren't exactly the way he wanted. It was like this place could be on fire in a moment. Much like his heart, the situation around his Twin Ashlei. The family he never had was something odd, he had memories slowly slipping back into him. Rose someday he would need to make a choice on what was needed. He glanced down at his hand, things like this weren't so simple that a creature could reach out and touch them. He clenched a fist as the thoughtful male sighed.

The answers weren't clear but he needed to protect Ashlei and Rose. From the most vicious creatures this world had, but that was all he could do. He closed those orbs that seemed so piercing they could go to the soul of a being, Verathius felt close to the answer. His Hierro was stronger than ever before and he seemed like he could easily overcome the darkness. But the Shinigami, that battle would of answered so many questions. He awoke in that battlefield attacked by Shinigami, his first memories were Zanpakutō's breaking against his skin. This of course was normal, only those of extremely extensive power would be able to harm him. Everything seemed distant to him, but their was no way he could be that way anymore. He touched softly the number on his chest, it was a two that was from before. His old body kept the number tattooed on his skin that way he could do as he pleased. Would he return to being an Espada, was that the answer? Was being the Segunda once more worth the answer?

It was many questions piled atop one another, after all so much required him to become more than anything he ever imagined. His piercing gaze fell to the subjects below him, Ashlei desired him here. This was more than enough for him to make a move, of course nothing else would compare to everything else going on. His skill level seemed only to increase, perhaps a clash with the Iramasha Moonie was needed again. Simply to clear his mind of the garbage that plagued him. Verathius exhaled a breath, stepping his frame up to the edge of the mountain. Crimson hair and serious expression remained set in stone. How did he survive here one could ask, he left Shadow's Fall simply because he could. Now he returned stronger, would he join them again? What would be the outcome of his time here, so much uncertain about him. Verathius closed his eyes it didn't matter anymore, nothing did he would fight the enemies they had and kill them. No one would hand him his power.

He would seized it and find his place in this world, was he a villain at heart? Perhaps not but that wasn't the role fate had in store for him. Verathius would fight how he saw fit and the world could basically do whatever it wanted. Rose or Mana that was the question who would come to greet the twin of Ashlei. The man who resembled his sister utterly, his deep piercing gaze and almost emotionless face like a dolls seemed to resemble hers. But in the end the fact was their was much more going on with him. Verathius had something to protect, his true powers being unlocked had allowed him to grow. Had allowed him to find a sense of self that had for the most part been missing for so long. Verathius felt completion, how rare a feeling it was. His frame adjusted the clothing that he wore, the tatters that were his clothing seemed nicer now. He wore his clothing a symbol of his family worn across the shoulder, some gold bracelets and among other things worn on his figure. A piercing through his shin partly bone showing his hollow origins.

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

Artist: mintjam - Song: a-S0lQYAQ_A - Word Count: 1227
It seemed that the world Rose entered into was a busy one. Now that things were moving within the upper echelons of Shadow Fall, it became more apparent that she was going back and forth between Hueco Mundo, Earth and Demon World in order to begin handling affairs for the hollow-side of Shadow Fall's operations. With Ashlei Clixx still being preoccupied with whatever royal task she was vesting her interest in, The Primera Espada had her hands full maintaining her kingdom in her stead. Everything from research, combat and now diplomacy were under Rose's guidance with her sister spending so much of her time in an idle and inactive state. It left many other Arrancar and Hollow's alike questioning if she should be the next successor to the Hollow Queen with how she has maintained the well-being of their race. However, both of the sisters knew that Rose would never do such a thing. For as long as her beloved sisters happiness was functioning, secure and thriving -- Rose would give it her all until her elder sibling gave the call to stop doing so. That was as simple and clear cut as The Primera's admiration for her kin was.

And this was the reason why she was summoned to the depths of Devil Peak Mountain -- to deal with her elder brother -- another fellow sibling of the Mischevang family. After a run-in with the Hollow Queen within the pits of The Kokuryuteshi, one of Kin's many eyes in the sky had overheard the conversation take place. It wasn't a far-fetched feat for one of their roaming nanobots to pay attention to the jumbo-sized presence that someone like Ashlei Clixx possessed. Thus, they were monitored and observed until each of them parted ways. After matching the frequency of their spiritual energy, they noticed patterns that could indeed indicate that they were related to each other in one manner or another. With that understood by those within that organization, it was only a matter of time before this information was leaked and then passed on to the Primera Espada by those in her own inner circle.

Those within the intelligence sector of The Kokuryuteshi and Shadow Fall alike weren't naive to where his allegiance would undoubtedly lay. Thus, like a hushed whisper in the crowd, motions were passed quite under the table between the two organizations. Understanding that he had a foot in each of their world, Rose had already established a deal between the two faction groups in order to keep her brother safe. So long as he swore not to raise his hand against The Kokuryuteshi and not divulge their methods of operations, they were more than willing to allow him to join any position he'd like within Shadow Fall. Kin was not a fool to how strong the urge to protect family was, and this decision was one that held the best outcome for each of the organizations.

Thus, The Primera Espada's reiatsu would then begin to become more noticeable within the forest of Devil Peak Mountain where Verathius had ventured forth into. Judging by the vicinity she sensed him in, Rose determined that he hadn't made it into the villages, towns and cities that lay higher up in the cliffside. This made it the perfect place to have a rendeu between Shadow Fall and Kokuryuteshi members due to its isolated location. Therefore, from out of the trees around Verathius, his younger sibling had emerged from the woodwork with her crimson eyes fixated on him.

"So, it seems Ashlei has found another one of us...."

As she stepped out of the shadows of the night, more of her appearance became apparent. With each shade of the dark being absolved, Her general attire seemed to one that was quite modest compared to some of the more hectic and gothic styles that were popular within Shadow Fall. Wearing nothing more than silver chains wrapped across her legs and hands, these metallic garments seemed to mesh together with her white dress and golden necklace fastened firmly on her chest. And as the passing of a gentle breeze blew by, so to do her scarlet hued hair blow in the wind; seemly extending down to her shoulders.

"...how....nice." With the light tapping of barefeet growing closer, a soft sigh exhaled from the petite Arrancar's mouth as she observed her elder brother. The height contrast between the two were quite the spectacle; standing over one foot taller than his sibling, it was rather amusing for onlookers to observe. And there were quite the few little eyes overlooking them at this present time. Coming forth after Rose unveiled herself, a group of five diplomats from The Kokuryuteshi came dressed in black and gold robes that hid most of their physique. However, the common trait that these men had shared was the fact that they each seemed to have symbol of The Kokuryuteshi on their sleeves, back or torso areas; making it clear who they were affiliated with from the get-go.

"I'm sure we can save the personal affairs for little, but the men behind us have a burning question for you." Pointing behind herself where the fellow K-World soldiers stood, Rose seemed to be referring to their company. "I'm certain you've come all the way to Demon World to seek out sister and I, so do you intend to join our ranks once more?" Not wasting anytime with drawn-out dramatics, The Primera was straight and swift to her point. And at the same time, the faces of the men behind her grew more stern in nature; as a raven haired male in the center of the group pulled out a silver circular device that was meant to record his response. Everything that would take place here would be documented for both their higher-ups and Shadow Fall to review as this exchange went down in real time.

"We have much to catch up on, that is for certain, but the men behind us aren't dull to the fact our bloodline tends to have us flock together like moths to a flame. Therefore, I'd like to propose that you come back to Shadow Fall under the rule of the Segunda Espada." Never blinking once or showing any sign of backing down, the blunt and to the point nature of Rose's words were meant to give him a clear picture of what was going on at this point. "And the group you were working with before are willing to either let you work in secret with them, or join us under the condition you keep quiet about their methods and swear to not raise your sword against them. Failure to do so will render you their enemy; you know how these things go between organizations."

Folding her arms and leaning against the hard bark of a tree nearby, Rose placed her right foot on the solid wall and sighed once more. She wasn't sure how he was going to react, and The Primera was hoping that this whole operation wouldn't amount to anything dramatic or hasty -- for both sides. There wasn't a clear understanding of how Verathius was going to react to either parties, so both The Espada and The Kokuryuteshi alike paid close attention to his movements and awaited for his response to their request.

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

Wed Jul 23, 2014 11:33 pm
Styn didn't have many things going for him. He wasn't as old as most of the beings who made up Shadow Fall. Although recently his abilities had undergone a rather drastic increase, he barely had the experience to back up his new found power. The method of his enhancement was still playing tricks with his mind. Although there were literally thousands of years worth of demonic memory to draw upon, he still hadn't quite found the pathway to connect to this wealth of knowledge. Many of the talents he employed were instinctual fortunately, so he certainly wasn't what one could consider weak.

One of the things that he had prided himself on since the very beginning though was being in the know. The small friendships he had made in every circle of Shadow Fall had served him well in the months since he had been called to the front lines. His actions behind the scene might have been nothing more then the work of a simple cog in the vast machine of one of the most chaotic organizations in the multiverse. Even so, he had made connections as a competent underling and trustworthy operative. He hardly expected the the vaunted personages gathered at the base of his home to give him more then a passing thought though. Still, whispers had barely reached the Primera Espada before also coming to him.

The Demon Knight felt that the events unfolding in this meeting of estranged family might become important to him, but he made no attempt to intrude directly into their gathering. A simple wordless incantation of demon magic brought the spoken words to his ears as if he was standing in their midst. The diplomats from The Kokuryuteshi might not even notice the Knight of the First Circle from his perch on an outcropping of rock almost two hundred meters above the meeting point. He was after all wrapped in his Cloak of Shadows and only the creatures as strong as he was himself, or possessing particularly powerful observational talents would notice his Za Koa signature.

Styn was not quite six feet tall, taller then average perhaps, but not in a way that stood out. His medium build accentuated his averageness, he wasn't quite slim, but fell short of heavily muscled. Dark green hair only an inch or so in length, could possibly be a dye job. Pale violet eyes, while a questionable fashion choice, were not outside cosmetic modification. Both ears came to slight point at the apex of their arc, something easily overlooked. His teeth might be a bit sharper then normal for a human, but they retained the same basic shape and placement. The demon's nails also came to a point and were thicker then common, but were by no means long talons or claws. All and all - discounting Za Koa which was naturally suppressed in this base form - Styn would go unremarked in most locations. Here in the Demon World his appearance would actually stand out a bit more then normal.

The Knight of the First Circle sported a dark green business suit, almost black outside of direct light. The pale violet tie was clearly meant to bring out his eyes, which were somewhat concealed behind a pair of gunmetal gray glasses with translucent bottom rims. Black dress shoes capped out the attire, with especial detail paid so that the combat boot soles didn't look out of place. Still the effect lacked a certain something. First of all, his white button down shirt was untucked, which his unbuttoned dark green jacket didn't quite conceal. His tie was loosened at least an inch, and cocked slightly to the left. His pants looked a bit rumpled and his shoes were scuffed. In addition his eyes had heavy dark bags under them and his stare was half lidded, giving him the appearance of someone tired or sick.

Styn's right foot kicked lazily into the air, his left curled under the moving limb. The demon's chin was propped on the kickstand of his right hand, his left adjusted his gun metal gray glasses causing his vision to zoom in to get a better look at the proceedings. He took a singular moment to just enjoy being in his home plane of existence. The last of his treatments in the Dying Game were now complete, he stood fully formed and molded into the shape that had been mapped out for him. Any further advancements would come from those loose memories tumbling about in his skull. Without the dread of what the future held, the simple act of sitting within the miasma of hellish energy was invigorating.

The Demon Knights spiritual presence was a muted thing. Even though the Mischevangs would be able to detect him and easily identify his potential, his output of Za Koa caused no undue stress on the surrounding environment. Styn was a force of control, a Zen center of calm in the raging storm of demon impulses. He chose to have a low carbon footprint in a way. This was not a day for flared tempers and unwelcome egos. He had no intention of interfering with the choice that was to be made here. He wasn't even sure how he felt about what was about to occur down below.

The Mischevang family was a powerful force of Hollowkind to be sure. Styn was in full support of the alliance with their race. In his mind there was no reason to be at odds with creatures that shared so many of the Demons own goals. The personal nature of their perspective ruler's relationship weren't for the likes of him to weigh in on. This mystery brother was a bit of an oddity, an enigmatic surprise. Just when Styn was getting used to what he knew about his world another powerful force appeared to rock the boat.

Verathius certainly deserved the title of a powerful force. The feel of the man's spirit pressure was an immense ocean of force that threatened to even overpower the natural aura of hells own touch. Only months prior this passive pressure would have rendered him immobile. This massive reiatsu signature was dwarfed only by that of Rose's own. Styn felt nothing but pride in their primera Espada's superior strength. Lately it seemed that she was the only one of the Shadow Espada who cared about the stability of Hollow and Demon relations. Styn saw her as a kindred soul, as devoted to her sister as he was to Mana. It would truly be a loss for the forces of chaos should they be forced to do battle one day.

Ultimately the star of the show would be Verathius. Styn would welcome the addition of another mighty ally. Hopefully he'd be a bit less crazy then the current inmates in the asylum, but only time would tell. Whatever objectives the Arrancar wished to achieve might not require the aid of an organization like Shadow Fall. In the last year or so he had seemed to have no problem advancing his own power and surviving on his own after all. Styn was content to wait, watch, and listen. He hardly expected that he'd need to defend his home, only someone completely insane would think to challenge a demon on his home turf.

He sensed her coming closer, like the beat of a heart the blood flowed in his mind. Verathius turned those piercing eyes on his sister. His vision shifting to the people from K-World such pitiful beings who feared a man. He had honor and pride things other creatures didn't. Verathius turned his stern stare at them and his sister, taking things in now. His eyes shifted slowly noticing the onlooker his reiatsu remained calm as he observed. His sister laid her offer out that they wanted, fact was the family wanted it's warrior back in some ways. But it was far more than that, Ashlei desired him here. His eyes of crimson looked thoughtfully on at his sister. Verathius gave them a certain look for a moment causing them to flinch briefly, his eyes fell to his sister. He was one of few men in existence that could make a creature shake as though it was in danger. Just from staring at it, his eyes moved to the on looker as he spoke. His tone was cool and deep as he let his voice echo freely from his lips.

"It's rude to assume just because I love my family I lack honor..You must judge me poorly representatives, I do divulge secrets from you or them..When I stepped away from Shadow's Fall, I told you nothing they as well gain no knowledge of you.." Verathius had a high amount of honor and intelligence. And for someone to even pretend he would consider telling people methods or forms of doing things was against his code."I accept Shadow Falls offer to return to the location of Segunda Espada, I am the shield that are enemies shall never pass..without losing life." Verathius understood the rest of the pretty words without much requirement behind them. This wasn't the only thing that would end the war of worlds that caused the fighter to be as deadly as he could be. The Shield that would slaughter Shadow's Falls enemies. He believed both sides would be pleased enough with this, but he didn't truly care. His presence was asked by his twin sister, not many had seen him since he'd regained this form.

He looked like a taller and male form of his sister Ashlei, his eyes of scarlet fell on Rose now. The girl was a chibi next to him by all accounts of it, he wasn't someone who could easily be understood as Verathius was a puzzle. The more you looked the more complicated things got, he didn't allow dishonor lightly. Being used pissed him off, as he didn't want his people slaughtered for meaningless crap. That wasn't the way he played his games, Verathius was something that never went the entire way. His strength was his own and the fact was he fought for many years to be as strong as he was. Rumors echoed around this place of him allowing Shinigami's to hit him with blades only for them to shatter. His skin was special and different from others, his hierro made him the creature he was. The thick headed and sometimes dense warrior. Much was left to catch up on, Rose and he had so much to discuss. She knew it and he did as well, what was this sister like without so many eyes he pondered.

This wasn't such a simple question to ask as he looked at her quietly, they both weren't like most people. Ashlei was her own sort of person as they were as well. Verathius was an honorable warrior who took offense at being called otherwise, his darkness had faded as he'd finally reached a freedom. His body was hotter than most as flames came from his hierro when fighting. His eyes piercingly found their way to Styn. This being who observed the situation as he evaluated him. It wasn't something he could put a finger on as he took it into account. His vision finally left Styn not giving it any more attention. The abyss awaited any who raised a hand at this moment. Rose and he had not spoken or seen one another since he was lost. Since that shadow's had consumed his entire existence, he was far stronger now. His energy was more equal to his sisters both as he looked down at the younger sister. Waiting for the people to leave, once they were gone he would speak more.

"It's nice to see you sister, pleasantries often are forced to wait I imagine for the Primera." Verathius had a warmer tone now that it was just he and her, somewhere beneath the stern looks he did care. It was most likely harder to show it than people realized as his visage was intimidating. He was tempted to hug his little sister, but Rose was a fire cracker and well that wasn't always best. He remembered her having quite the temper, she and Ashlei were always on their path. It was time he finally gotten upon his own. This of course meant the course was moving forward, things like that were always on going. Verathius rarely fought anything, but now he had purpose to raise his weapon against the enemies. His body being one of the ultimate weapons that they would have. He glanced upwards now, his eyes looking at the mountain for a moment as he waited. His sister and he would bond in a way that was special to them. That was the way things had to be.

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

(OOC Note: Sorry for the delay. I just lost my muse and couldn't post as much as I wanted. I am taking care of this thread now, however.)

The first creature that she detected with her APS detection -- was the unnerving energy that was Styn of The First Circle of Shadow Fall. Running his trace Za Koa signature through the databanks of The Organization's systems, she was able to decipher a picture of the man, his rank and face. After realizing who this demonic fellow was, his presence was unnerving to the woman. It was not out of fear that generated this response, but out of a wandering question of: why. Why this man was concealing so much of his potential back? She couldn't tell just how deep the witch's well went within the male's power, but she knew, from common sense, that the male had more power than just a mere Knight. It wasn't another one of the numerous cannon-fodder that Shadow Fall had in ample supply. With the amount of assignments, missions and rumors shaded around that individual; she wasn't buying that he had just the power of another grunt.

However -- people have their reasons for the things that they do. Lord knows that Rose herself had her own motives for being apart of Shadow Fall to begin with. So out of respect for his personal decisions, The Primera did not see it beneficial towards relations to peer deeper than just a passing glance at the male. It was a look that conveyed the message: "she knew". So when her eyes were averted away from the demon in the distance, the focus of the Arrancar was then shifted to her elder brother. Listening to the way he talked, it seemed that he understood very well the circumstances that they were under and it was a relief.

"Then I welcome thy brother back into the ranks of The Espada as our Segunda." Sounding soft in tone at first, the change in Rose's voice was more -- questionable -- towards the end of her sentence. With the batting of an eyelash, The Primera doubted his promise that he would be the shield he built himself up to be. Yes, his power was superb for their race, most likely among some of the best in his strength. However, as the world has shown time and again, there is no such thing as being able to hold a wall forever. A force will come that is strong enough, bold enough and daring enough to eventually shatter those walls. And to that absurd notion -- Rose had to leave a comment.

"But, do me a favor, BROTHER..." Sounding almost sarcastic in nature, Rose left out a gruff chuckle as she looked him in the eye; making sure never to waver her gaze so he got the picture. "...don't make idealistic promises that are improbable to keep in this universe. It makes you look more naive than you are." It was at this point where imagery of the Mischevang Family came into mind. Recollections of their human life in which a promise was made. A promise to where this mass of a family, for how problematic and chaotic they grew to be, would always stick together. Yet, bit by bit, and death by death, it all turned into ash and was nothing more than a joke as the centuries passed on.

These days communication from the family was scarce outside of passing-by's with Ashlei, and even then their relationship was more than strained over the fact "Miss Clixx" chose a Rosary Abomination over her own flesh and blood. Seeming agitated for a few seconds, the face of Rose scowled as she still could not process that accursed day through her mind. The day where, despite her outpouring of love, concern and fear, Ashlei still choose -- that The Blood Queen would devour her whole. There was a sense of betrayal felt then because she had spent so many years in isolation, came back from the brink of solitude and chased the dazzling light of the sun that was The Hollow Queen's radiance -- only to have it spat back in her face time after time with her siblings constant "death's", break-downs, disappearances and alliances that arose above the blood between her and the Mischevang Family.

So as her perception came back to reality, the hollow words of Verathius were nothing but an outplayed joke that she had little patience to indulge in. Sooner or later those well-meaning wishes would decay like everything else in this world. And much like the decaying ash of a man's final breath in the wind, the presence of The Kokuryuteshi Diplomats were all but fading. It was clear that they were pleased with the outcome that came and could accept the terms of this meeting. Therefore, the men would only give him a brief nod. At least, before they were seen taking quick glance in the distance; as if they heard or saw something.

"That will be all that is required out of you. It is a shame you think of our judgement as poor, but you misunderstand us at the same time. We are only doing what is standard protocol for all faction members who leave our side. It is nothing...but business. Don't take it so personal, Mischevang." The leader of the group talked in a composed and relaxed tone of voice; as if there wasn't a care in the world for him. After all -- it was just business. Even those in the higher echelons of an organization like The Kokuryuteshi did not desire to drag out professional affairs into the realm of personal. It served no purpose other than to cause further conflict, resources burned and time wasted.

"May peace and prosperity be with you all."

So with a simple wave of the hand, he dismissed this meeting as all of the evidence had been documented. And in that motion, the expansion of a purple void opened above the group. It was circular in nature and seemed to go on forever -- but these men knew there destination all too well. Having already called for those in The Kokuryuteshi's realm to pick them up, it was time for these men to bid their adieu was they ascended into this spiraling darkness. In a seconds -- the gateway sealed shut and that was the end of this simple gathering.

Exhale.

That was all that was heard from the Mischevang once they left. It was if the thickness in the atmosphere had melted and the coolness of the night's allure swept across the area. All that needed to be tendered to now was her brother and if the wicked ol' demon in the distance would decide to stick around or go back to the base. If he was here to monitor things, then he'd know that Shadow Fall had indeed gained the Segunda Espada in their ranks and it would be wise for him to let Rose handle things from here on out in her own way. And then, to her brother, she'd assume that he would have some type of fiery response to what was spoken out earlier in her distaste for such shallow promises. So there was the awaiting of his response on her mind as well.

"And while I am not a fan of such non-sense...it is nice to see one who shares my own blood return. So you can say...it is rather nice to see you and the feeling is mutual." Closing her eyes, there was a more soft-tone in her voice. The words that she spoke were indeed true, and while she had her conflicted feelings towards the family, they were just that -- family. For better or worse, Rose was stuck with them until she was no longer of this material realm.

In fact -- that was just the thing they needed. A realm change.

"So tell me, brother, do you wish to take this little "party" to our home in Hueco Mundo?"

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

Thu Aug 07, 2014 4:13 pm
So it would seem that Shadow Fall would grow stronger after all. Although Verathius had a subtle intensity around him, none of it translated into physical violence. In only a matter of moments the entire procedure seemed to be completed. There was very little fuss, as Styn had grown to expect from the loosely allied Kokuryutesh forces. In the end it seemed as though his pretense in the area had not been necessary. Since he hadn't relished the prospect of taking on intruder the Demon Knight found himself content with the results.

Despite the distance in which he had chosen his perch there were brief moments where it was obvious that both siblings took a moment to acknoledge his existence. The brother at least didn't seem to know who he was at all, a fact that Styn was perfectly fine with. After a moment to weigh the threat that he might represent, Verathius was quick to focus on what seemed more important. Rose at least had a knowing look in her eye when she glanced Styn's way, but he had hardly expected to surprise the well informed Pirmera Espada. If there was anyone who used the well of information from Shadow Fall as much as he himself it was the petite arrancar.

There was an interesting moment when the Kokuryutesh forces portaled out of the Demon World. Styn took a moment to examine the fabric of spacial relativity. So many factions and races had their own tunneling arts, it was fascinating to see where they were similar. It was even more enlightening to discover the differences. As a member of the First Circle, portals were a bit of a specialty of his. As the ambassadors departed, they did so with the Demon Knight's blessing, because he was almost positive he could have interrupted their transportation had he been so inclined.

The business end of things ended on their exit. Styn was almost embarrassed that he stuck around long enough to hear Rose give her brother such a hard time. As a bit of an idealist himself, he was somewhat miffed on behalf of Verathius. Not that he would ever say so to either of the Mischevang siblings. In Styn's mind the wish to protect did not exclude an eventual failure. At the same time when you were a demon you tended to keep such lofty dreams to yourself.

The only real thing to do was just to pretend that he hadn't heard it after all. That and a swift exit before he outstayed his welcome. The Demon Knight had no desire for another trip to Hueco Mundo at the moment. In addition, it was sure that the siblings had some catching up to do. Dialogue that Styn had no place in. For the most part he stayed out of the Shadow Espada's way, there was no need to start changing things up just because he was a bit stronger now.

Styn leaned back into the cliff. There was no need for his own portal, not with Shadow Fall Village so close. As his back touched the ridged rock the Demon Knight sunk into a line of shadow. There was a grasping sensation as if the Shadow Realm was sucking him into its dark depths. As soon as the process begun the rest of his body quickly flickered in and away from the current surroundings. A moment later he'd step out among his demon kin in the village proper. He had some things to think about, but ultimately nothing had really changed and there was always something to be done.

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

Artist: Pretty Reckless - Song: Heaven Knows - Word Count: 1,255

Being a badass could be extremely irritating sometimes.

This was one of the few things that Nemain could say truly disturbed her in life. Not much could get through the unshakable strength and willpower that anyone who knew her would know her for. Her unwavering commitment to her ideals and otherwise twisted mentality was part of the reason why she never tired, and never fatigued. It was a blessing, more than anything, to have such a useful trait inherent in one's own self. Nemain did, after all, have to stay constantly vigilant, lest she allow her strength to in any way deteriorate from the extreme standard she held herself at. Regardless of the stupidity of other "types" of strength, and how those are measured, Nemain liked to think of herself at the gold standard where physicality was concerned. Billions of newtons in force compacted into a long-limbed kickass package. Despite her inability to tire out, though, Nemain often found herself in need of a break from her normal routine, and this was most definitely one of those moments.

And so it was this logic that had caused the Trecera Espada to leave the world of the living in a temporary pause in her seek-and-destroy mission where strong opponents were concerned. Initially, she had planned to head back to Hueco Mundo for some rest and relaxation. Some time in Las Noches would serve her well, simply kicking her feet up between training sessions without actually having anyone trying to kill her. However, plans had changed when she had decided to take a detour into the demon realm. Within seconds of entering, she had immediately felt a few familiar presences. Her interest was almost immediately peaked. Something of a rarity for the easily-bored and even more easily-distracted third espada.

Following this feeling had led Nemain to the thick forest of Devil Peak Mountain in the very heart of demon territory. The girl didn't necessarily enjoy traveling this deep into the heart of a realm she didn't fully understand, but she didn't really care either way. If anything tried to stop her, she'd just punch it. That was kind of her prerogative, after all. In fact, she might start throwing punches regardless. Who knows? Could be fun.

After what seemed like more traveling than it actually was, Nemain found herself above the forest itself, her reiatsu holding her up more than anything as she looked down on where the energy signatures had converged. She lowered herself slowly, sliding into the canopy as stealthily as she could while part of the conversation was still going on. It was only after a few moments of listening to the talking that Nemain found herself once again plagued by the throes of boredom, and decided that it was time to enter.

Up until now, those who had not known her for long, or did not know her at all, might've not even recognized her presence there. Her reiatsu was wild enough as it was, but with the seal on her hip hiding away roughly half of it, anyone who sensed it might've been looking for a significantly weaker figure to descend from the canopy as opposed to the walking earthquake that did. And she lived up to that title well as she dropped herself from the forest's height, taking branches and various nests and such with her as she grinned madly, ending in a collision with the forest floor in such a way that she could see the three people currently meeting here.

She recognized two of those who had come here this day immediately. Rose, her Primera, and quite frankly the only person in this, or any life, that she truly respected, and Verathius, whom she had seen briefly during her earlier time serving Shadow Fall. The third person in the grouping, however, she did not recognize. He was a mystery, and that made this all the more interesting. Mysteries were fun. They usually ended in murder. Which was also fun.

Nemain slowly stood from the small indenture she had made in the earth, dusting her legs off before righting herself to her full height, walking forward a few steps before leaning her shoulder against a nearby tree, crossing one calf over the other leg's shin as she placed her balance entirely against the trunk, a smirk stretching her thin lips as she puckered her lips and blew a long strand of blue hair from her face.

"Hey peeps how'zit hangin'? To the left? Shriveled? Doesn't really matter. Sorry for buttin' in but I felt some energy over here and figured I'd come crash the girl scout's meeting if it's not too much trouble! And, of course, it isn't. Trouble involves far more explosions."

The Trecera stretched, nodding to Rose and Verathius in turn as she addressed the two of them individually.

"Nice to see you hear, Madam. What brings our lovely Primera out this far anyhow? It couldn't be Verathius could it? All this way for him?" She pouted slightly, crossing her arms and huffing. "Not even fair. I had to come find you to be given a shot at my title, and he gets spoon-fed his. So laaaaaaaaaame! I may not be blood but at least I'm loyal!" She rolled her eyes before turning her attention to Verathius. "And let's not forget the fact that I heard part of that conversation, nerd." She crossed her eyes mockingly, sticking her tongue part-way out in the silliest face she could possibly manage as she imitated the Segunda. "I am the shield that our enemies shall never pass witho-- blah blah friggidy blah." Her expression turned back to normal as she groaned from the corniness of it all. "Who do you think you are, Hemmingway? Don't forget, ya emo fucktard. Before anyone even gets to you and your supposed shield, they gotta' go through me. And ain't no-one gone through me but Rose. So unless you're high 'n mighty enough to think yer as strong as she is, I wouldn't talk like you're the be-all end-all of our defenses, princess."

Nemain let out a drawn out sigh as she cocked an eyebrow, turning her attention back to Rose and bowing her head in a moderate apology, a sight almost completely unheard of from the vulgar vasto. "My apologies for anythin' you might'a found offensive to your person, Lady Rose. I didn't mean to insinuate anythin' about ya. Just frankly pissed outta my noggin'." She blew out some more air before shrugging, her normal persona returning in full force as she turned her attention to the demon. "And you. I dunno you. But I know a demon when I smell one. So long as Lady Rose gives your presence here the clear, you're fine by me." Why the demon had chosen this moment to abruptly leave was beyond her. She rubbed the back of her head, stepping free of the tree as she folded her hands behind her back, rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. "For as much shit as I give ya, it's good to have ya back, Verathius. Nice to know I'm not gonna be the only dipshit pullin' weight anymore." She chuckled, her eyes slipping closed for a moment as she crossed her arms again.

"So here we are. Top three Espada.."

She giggled, opening her eyes again as she shook her head, staring up into the canopy above.

"Buncha jackasses standing in a circle."

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

Wed Aug 27, 2014 5:27 pm
Verathius merely regarded the male who spoke, his eyes looked towards his sister. He didn't seem to care what the female said, she was the Third Espada. He'd heard much about her, his crimson eyes pierced her as he stared into her. Nemain was her name, he was very familiar with her. This drifter wasn't one who didn't have knowledge of those who were around. She had a fair amount of power to her, he glanced off the horizon now. Crossing his arms over his chest he looked off taking in what details he could from the horizon now. This was his sister's business, he didn't bother with what she said. " Let me say this in a better fashion than..I'll crush them beneath my might.." With that last word Veraithus did something that would show just why. It was going to be like an entire grid got hit by the spike, the heat exploded as his crimson reiatsu poured out. His eyes glowed slightly as he looked at Nemain before simply closing them. He looked at his sister, she wished to go to Hueco Mundo. How long had it been since he stood in the sand? How many moons had passed since his fist and clenched the sand beneath it. Perhaps it was time for him to finish off what he started so long ago. Much was left undone by him at the post, Ashlei had left him too. "Rose, their is a place I wish us to go..Where I was forgotten for the many centuries...Their is something left undone there.." Verathius simply said it before walking forward his eyes looking at Nemain. Before glancing at his sister, he didn't feel the need to explain. The fact was it wasn't a fond place but something was needing to be done there. Verathius left something behind in that area, something that helped him complete the task. Grant it at the time he'd not looked like a member of this honorable family. Well perhaps the better word would be dysfunctional or something similar. He remained waiting as he knew this wouldn't simply go away. Verathius could feel instincts warning him about trusting people.

Grant it last time they were right and he was left guarding a gate till he slowly disappeared. He wasn't eager to leave Rose by any means, nor did he care about what Nemain did. Verathius simply had things he needed to attend. He was an Espada that much was true, his strength was valued for many reasons. He'd simply handle the matter that he needed to handle. It wasn't something these two would understand, something called to his soul there. Verathius simply regarded the situation as it was. He didn't get excited or feel it, perhaps bravery or stupidity was the answer at times. He'd lost track of how often he stood at that door killing enemies. His hands felt red, perhaps more than his hair. Though back then it was different, things had changed a large deal. He'd been the Segunda once before that number never left his body. Verathius simply didn't acknowledge the number or the structure much. People were people and power was power, it was not so cut and dry numbers could be used. Verathius simply stared on, deciding he'd not bother anymore. Talking seemed to go no where for him, his eyes closed. Those piercing crimson orbs slowly shut as he continued thinking. Verathius did push out his thoughts now, letting time continue on in this world. That voice still nagged at his mind something called him. From that gate and damned if he couldn't place it. It was something that remained with him, something beyond just the everyday thoughts. A female waited there beyond the sight of others, something important called him from his slumber. Rose and Nemain were simply ride along's till they left this world. This realm disgusted him so, Hueco Mundo was home after all. Demons were such petty creatures in his eyes, but perhaps his distaste came from guarding that gate. How many tried to lie, cheat, or do whatever it took to get by him.

The Brother's Return Empty Re: The Brother's Return

Well, another one bites the dust, eh?

That was the first passing wind of thought that breezed over Rose's mind as she sensed the energy signature that was Styn -- vanish. Whatever the demon wanted seemed to have been accomplished in a short amount of time for his departure to come so suddenly. Although it made no difference to her, it was rather curious for The Primera Espada to gauge such a -- empty power. Oh well. The Royal Mischevang was a busy person and she didn't have time to dwell on what the demonic half of Shadow Fall was going placing a man like that in such a lowly position. That would be for The Demon Queen to sort out.

For now -- her primary concern was tending to her own faction.

She could feel it like a disturbance in the force, there was something in the distance that was approaching them with great speed -- and great unstableness to its nature. With the rippling and crackling of her loose canon Trecera in the area, Rose batted a curious eyebrow at her entrance. Destroying twigs, nestings and the general sense of quiet; this was a par for the course entrance of Nemain. In fact, The Primera even determined that this -- mild -- compared to her previous record. A low whistle emitted from The Primera's mouth as she was impressed her subordinate didn't take the next few towns with her trying to find them.

"Eh, you'll be excused. I'm pleased you didn't manage to make a larger hole of things than you already did. It shows restraint is slowly curling up in that noggin' of yours." Rose's voice seemed calm and unmoved, yet it had been set to a tone where one could easily see she was being humorous.

"And of course it was for my brother. As romantic as his words are, it is nice to have my own kin coming back." Nodding her head with what she said, Rose did indeed enjoy the company of her family; even if relations were strained as of recently between The Primera and The Hollow Queen.

No matter if Rose contained enough fury to wipe out the entire planet, should it be placed against her family, The Arrancar would find a way to manage it and prevent such a meltdown from occurring. That is the love she had -- and the respect she hoped others in the Mischevang gave herself and each other. They were the only ones that understood and had each others back in this dead universe, so they'd need to start acting like it in the Primera's mind.

Nevertheless, before the leading Espada could get trapped in her own thoughts, the playful whining of Miss Nemain seemed to shatter that train of thought like a broken glass smashing against the pavement. Blinking for a few moments, Rose shook her head and let out a soft chuckle at the response The Treca gave. It seemed there was a bit of jealousy afoot. Well, possibly anyway.

"And I had to find my sister after spending the equivalent of ten thousand years within the virtual realm. We all have our paths that lead us together, this was just his." Not even blinking or moving a single eyelash away from Nemain, Rose remained still and anchored like a rock while stating those words. When finished with them, The Primera pointed her right index finger towards Verathius's location and smiled.

"Besides, if you have a problem with how the ranking is, you are more than welcome to give my brother a test drive if you feel that it is time for a promotion." There was not even the slightest bit of sarcasm behind those words, despite how they may have come across. If Nemain felt she could manhandle her way to the Segunda position? Then by all means -- go at it.

At any rate, those scarlet eyes of hers would dart between Nemain and her brother as The Treca started letting out with her unfiltered and "colorful" dialogue.

Snnnnnrk.

A suppressed chuckle emitted behind Rose's mouth as she had a laugh at The Segunda Espada's expense. Comparing her brother's idealistic speeches to Hemingway? There was just something that struck a nerve within her and Rose could not help but look away for a moment in order to regain her stern composure and keep a straight face while dealing with her fellow Espada.

"I'll allow it. After all, those who speak big game often have big fist to back those words up." Patting Nemain's back, The Mischevang gave a gentle laugh out loud. "And if I know anything about you, I'm assured of the fact you should be able to cash out big in that game."

Now that their attention was directed towards the point where The Demon known as "Styn" once stood, Rose gave a disconcerting roll of her shoulders at Nemain's comments about him. "The Demon can do whatever he wants. I'll let The Demon Queen worry about him. He isn't a concern, but it is nice to know we have such powerful allies, is it not?" Speaking in a more rigid toned voice, it seemed that the no-nonsense side of The Primera came out for but a moment as she sounded rather serious with those piercing words of hers.

Although, like a soothing wave from the ocean, the scowled expression of The Mischevang washed away when she looked at the comradery that Nemain had for her fellow Espada. In that display, it seemed as if things were beginning to look more shapely in the ranks of The Shadow Espada. Perhaps there was hope yet to be had for them.

Thus, along those positive thoughts, a tender smile came across the once fierce looking frown of The Primera.

"Yes. It has been sometime since three Espada have banded together, has it not? I am....happy...with the results." Voice dove-like and tranquil, the mellow and humane nature of The Leading Mischevang oozed out in that moment. For many months she had worked alone, bearing the weight of her sisters betrayal on her conscious and the workload of the demanding Shadow Espada on her chest. So, it was rather nice to have some help in the form of the returning of her brother and the arrival of the third Espada into their ranks. It gave her something to focus on and time to donate her energy into something bigger than just herself.

She had -- people she wanted to watch over like a doting mother-hen almost.

So when Verathius let out that outburst of her power, Rose remained unphased and unmoved. By this point in her life, The Primera was more than adjusted to dealing with violent outburst of energy. And with the added benefit of her mechanized hierro layers, there was even less to worry about physically. However, baring that in mind, that wasn't the reason this lone stance came to be.

There was a void expression seeping into her face because it seemed as if the male took what the Treca Espada said a bit too personally. There was hostility in the presence of his aura and that -- miffed -- Rose in a way. They were suppose to be a family -- and family didn't treat each other like that. At least, that is what Rose believed none the less.

"Crush them with your might? I don't doubt your strength, brother, but it is naive to assume they won't crush back. The world is a terrible place and it is none too difficult to be consumed by its murky depths. No matter if you are the King of the Universe, or the lowest peasant face first beneath the dirt." Locking eyes with her scorned sibling, the intent behind her eyes were as sharp as daggers. Each word spilt the world like a damning stab to the gut as she seemed none too pleased with her empty gaze.

"I am happy to have you back, but I do not desire conflict between you and her. We are a family of Arrancar, please remember that in the future."

Closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath, Rose eased her temper and refocused it towards opening a red vortex before all of them. Patching together the metaphysical coding of the universe, a wormhole connecting Demon World to Hueco Mundo was all but tethered by The Primera's infamous "Origin Code" ability. Being the first to step forth towards this crimson hole, Rose glanced at her two Espada and nodded her head for them to follow her.

"Then let us go forth and find whatever it is that seems to be making your heart quiver with anticipation." Turning her back to them, Rose leaped into the portal and prepared for whatever would come of it on the other side.
