It was quiet in the Garden while the Captain of the 10th Division was peacefully tending to the blooming flowers in this beautiful spring day. They were all blooming, while the white haired and tan eyed Captain Neviah Clixx-Kimura, was down near them all, pulling weeds and trimming the decayed leaves from the stems of the developing flowers all around. Their array of color varied as there were colors and hues of purple, blue, green, red, yellow, orange, green, you name it. It was a beautiful sight to behold as it was one of Neviah's favorite recreational activities to do during her down time. The peaceful grasp of nature and gentle touch of life that displayed the beauty of innocence was something Neviah kept close to heart. The Garden was where Neviah could always be found, as even in her past, she always spent her extra time in the Garden, whether it was tending to it's care, or even performing her Thai Chi. The place held a presence of peace and prosperity, as any and all were welcome to take in the sights and smells of nature at any time, and even if lucky, see their very Captain at works to keep this place of peaceful morale in function.
As she tended to the Garden in peace, Neviah took this time to reflect on days in the past that were some of the biggest impacts in her life. There was the time she met Eliah, and showed her how to fight using the Dark Arts. There was when she met her first best friend Konomi, and the times they shared before her tragic death. Meeting Krystia, and realizing that there are polite and respectful Officers within her Division. There was even Crystal, Captain of the 12th Division who showed Neviah care and compassion when in times of Need. All these wonderful people impacted Neviah and her life in mass volume, but there was one being who stood out over the rest in Neviah's heart, even over her own Parents. This person happened to be her very own Vice Captain, Miss Yui Nakami. Nakami was a a girl who Neviah respected so much, and even sometimes on accident would call her "Senpai" due to her age and wisdom, forgetting that she was the Captain and Nakami was the Vice-Captain. Either way, the two souls were so close that Neviah confided in her like a big sister and trusted her with all her heart, and Nakami filled the void of Konomi in her heart becoming her best friend. But this all didn't happen instantly, as it was a long journey for the two to grow and become so close. Neviah even remembered the first day they met. It was a depressing and sorrow filled day for all, but alas in all the pain and despair in the world, there was a light beaming of hope and warmth, as on this day, the two met in the most unlikely of circumstances. Closing her eyes, Neviah Clixx-Kimura, Captain of the 10th Division began to remember the first day the Captain and Vice-Captain met. 200 Years in the past, while Neviah was still in the 4th Division...
Neviah stopped trimming the leaves for a moment as she took a deep breath and inhaled the wonderful scent of the Garden before her. Looking up into the sky with the gently clouds floating by, Neviah proceeded to close her eyes for a moment. Neviah's Vision went black, as the gentle breeze blew by, and voices started to echo in her mind, bringing a setting into view of the type of sorrow that brought life to the Memory.
"Quick, get her into ER!"
"She's losing blood, we need a transfusion ASAP!"
"CAN I GET SOME PAIN REDUCTIONS HERE!? SHE LOST A DAMN ARM!"
"HURRY, WE NEED TO STOP HER FROM GOING INTO SHOCK!"
"MISS NAKAMI! MISS NAKAMI, CAN YOU HEAR ME!?"
"SHE'S GOING UNDER, GET THE VICE-CAPTAIN NOW!!"
The day ahead was a cold one for the Vice-Captain of the 4th Division. The clouds over head outside sung the omen of a sad day ahead as there was not even a speck of sunshine to light through the clouds overhead. The cool wind that blew from the north side of the Division to the south had quite a chill to it that would sing as though Winter was on it's way, but not till Fall was over. Fall, a season of decay, and Winter, the Season of Death. The Leaves of trees changing color to signify their loss of vitality, and when then the cold grasp of deaths hand in the name of winter seals their fates forevermore. These types of days troubled the young Vice-Captain of the 4th Division, only 265 years of age, and yet full of so many responsibilities. She was in charge of a Division under her Captain to ensure duties were met and that the jobs of those she served over were met with the utmost care and integrity. These sorts of things would normally be difficult for one, even in maturity, and yet they were in the hands of a girl who couldn't even stand next to men on an average day. This girl was none other than Neviah Clixx-Kimura, Legacy to the Memory Rosaries and Vice-Captain of the 4th Division.
This day continued like most others with Neviah checking information on potential outbreaks of diseases as well as any sorts of medical concerns of the higher ranks due to any potential problems that would occur to the members of the Gotei. The latest outbreaks she was discovering was when a hollow managed to break into one of the outer Rukongai districts about 2 years ago, it left a decaying bacteria on the skin of those it attacked, and killed it that led to heavy fevers and some of them dying. Of course, with good collaboration with the 12th Division, it was eventually taken care of through wonderful work of Medical Science at it's finest. The disease was nullified and removed from existence within months of the outbreak, and the people were free to live from worry once again, but that doesn't mean vigilance can be thrown out the window. One of Neviah's core jobs in the 4th Division was Public Safety of course, outside of being an outstanding surgeon. Her Assistant, the 3rd Seat of the 4th Division Konomi Osaka, was out and about helping with duties the Division needed to ensure proper stability and progress of Division work, and Neviah loved her 3rd Seated Officer very much as she was Neviah's best and first real friend. Without her, Neviah would be nothing but a lost little dove...
As Neviah went onto the third document of her paperwork, she was suddenly interrupted by a holler from some fellow Division Members. Two females who were usually working with Neviah on Division Affairs. They were both covered in blood from torso down and it caught Neviah's attention immediately. Standing up from her seat, the Division members rushed in, out of breath and gasping for air. They went on to explain that there was a severe injury in the ER and they needed Neviah's knowledge to help save the life of the injured being. Of course the Division holds many wonderful Doctors, but modern Medical Science cannot out do the power of high level Kido when in dire situations. Neviah acknowledged the need of her expertise, and quickly grabbed in one hand a crystal clear Glass Wakizashi in one hand, and in the other her Vice-Captain badge. Quickly rushing out of the room and heading down the office corridors, it didn't take long till Neviah made a few lefts and rights to enter the Emergency Wing of the 4th Division. Sounds of pain could be heard from all over as Neviah listened and watched as members from many different Divisions poured into their establishment. The requirement of medical attention was needed for all these souls in pain as was wondering why she wasn't notified sooner to the arrival of many patients.
Not wasting time, Neviah's eyes got narrow as the scared little girl who had a fear of men flew out the window and she placed her Wakizashi within her Obi Sash, and tied on the Vice-Captain badge to her left arm. It was time to get to work to heal those who were in pain. Neviah roamed the rooms, assisting many of her members in healing those who were in pain to ensure that stability can be the first priority in all the patients that came into her Medical Wing. She helped mend broken bones, stop the shock process for many patients, as well as apply a pain reduction agent into most of them, as this was something that most Division Members knew how to do, but Neviah was extremely skilled, thus handling things like this were a 2nd nature to her. As she continued to heal those in pain, she was interrupted by another female Division member to hurry to ER Room 3, as there was someone in critical condition and Neviah was needed as soon as possible. Without any hesitation, Neviah headed in the direction of ER Room 3. Most rooms displayed 4th Division Members at work, healing those who were in pain, but one room was worse than the rest. While most appeared with cuts, scrapes, and bludgeon wounds, one room showed a female in worse pain than the rest, as she displayed a loss of limb, blood pouring from her body, and entering shock!
S-STOP THE BLEEDING!!"
Busting into the room quickly, Neviah gabbed her obi sash from around her waist and pulled it off, loosening the clothes around her, but she didn't care. If she didn't stop the bleeding on this poor woman's body, she would die from loss of blood in a heart beat! Neviah quickly grabbed the woman right side, as she took her Obi sash which was already covered in the blood of the woman in pain, and she tied it above the elbow, where the laceration was made. She tied it as tightly as possible as to slow the bleeding and create a makeshift tourniquet to help prevent blood from leaving the body. Once that was established, Neviah would need to stop the patient from falling into shock.
"I need fluids and antibiotics in here now, she's going into shock!"
Neviah quickly had the woman's feet elevated as she tried to measure the internal temperature of the woman who slipped unconscious. Neviah had her assistants quickly gather information of the Patient who was in pain before her, as to measure and read any sorts of allergies she might have, and previous medical history that they would need to be aware of. While a couple members darted off to gather that information, Neviah was brought some fluids and a couple IV's. The Division Members acted quickly as they stuck the IV's into the patients remaining arm, and started the flow of fluids into her body. Neviah realized that their patient was at the closest level of stability she will be for her to perform Kido on her. Raising both her hands, she began to chant in silence as her hands began to attain a greenish golden hue. Activating a Level 80 Kido, Neviah began to put all her focus into the spell, as it would begin to stabilize the flow of blood in her body, and ensure that it flows from her heart, to all vital organs and ensure stability of her life, and pull her out of the danger of death. Now while her life was still in threat, as well as prone to many diseases and whatnot, Neviah continued to use that Kido to keep her body warm, and her breathing stable. From there, she would start to feel light and that her body wouldn't be so heavy.
After keeping the Kido balanced on the patients body for about 4 minutes, rushing into the ER Room were Neviah's assistants, all holding important things regarding the health of the woman on the table. Neviah stopped the Kido immediately, and grabbed the syringe that was in the hands of one of the girls, thanking them in the process. The syringe was a medicine that would help reduce pain, so while the woman was unconscious, she wouldn't have to rest in pain. From there, she handed the used syringe to be discarded as she took the file from the other female assistant. Neviah opened the fine to read that the girl before them was a girl named Nakami Yui, and she was a Member of the 6th Division. It would seem she was recently deployed with the unit that is in their care to the Living Realm of Earth, when something happened and they were rescued by the Third Division and turned into the 4th Division for care. She was leading the Team as well as sustained the most damage somehow, and the best news was that no one died on the battlefield. Somehow, everyone survived with medium to minimal injures, save the woman before her of course. This was quite respectable, as Neviah doesn't know how she did it, but fact was, she saved many lives this day, and the least Neviah could do was save hers in return.
Going over the files again, Neviah was assured of no allergies and that she has a low medical history showing a life of healthy decisions and that she was indeed prime with low chance of diseases and defects. This was great, as it allowed Neviah now do anything and everything to guarantee the life of this woman. Not only that, but her arm will return, as when you're in the hands of Neviah Clixx-Kimura, she will do her utmost best to bring quality of life to fruit for this strong woman. "I need a blood transfusion for her, while I begin to work on restoring her missing limb. Can someone please get me two liters of B negative, as well as Reshi Capsules? We're going to ensure the Quality of life for Miss Nakami!". When Neviah said this to all in the room, the smiles and hope of all began to rise as they knew in confidence that their Captain knew what to do in this time of need for the one suffering before them. Quickly getting to work, a couple of Neviah's assistants ran off to fetch the requested supplies for the Vice-Captain while Neviah returned to preventing shock on Nakami. She was being helped in that one 4th Division Member would stand at the end of the table to ensure that Nakami's feet were elevated and that blood would flow stronger to the heart, and another would keep vitals on Nakami to ensure her blood pressure remains stable, and doesn't collapse, while Neviah returned to her Kido, a lighter spell this time, as to ensure that her lungs do not collapse and her fractured bones are mended with relative ease.
Returning with two Liters of blood and about 8 Reshi capsules, the two assistant Shinigami came in with a smile as Neviah smiled in return of the provided items. She asked that the blood be put into a transfusion, and begin to course itself into Nakami while Neviah took the Reshi capsules. Neviah was going to use the Capsules and format them under Medical kido to have them attach to the DNA of Nakami and begin to take shape of her lost limb. To do this, Neviah would have to remove the sash that was tied around her arm to stop the bleeding, as to ensure that once the Reshi takes hold of her body and recreate the limb, the blood can flow into their arm and restore feeling to the nerves as well as muscles. Neviah placed the capsules carefully around her arm, and placed her hands on Nakami's chest to feel her heart beat. Neviah's power began to rise as all the assistants that were in the ER began to stand back, as Neviah was performing a forbidden Kido to all except the Captain and Vice-Captains of the 4th Division due to the danger around using the Kido. What the Kido does is it forces the nerves of the host body to take hold of surrounding Reshi, and restore any missing limbs to the point of when the body was at stability. The reason this Kido was so dangerous was because it required dire focus and determination from the user, because if misused, the excess limb could become the wrong limb intended, as well as could cause severe nerve damage, as well as possibly force the heart into irregular beats and kill the patient. The Reason Neviah was able to do this in confidence however was due to her high skill in focus, as the entire world around her suddenly went black...
All that was in Neviah's senses was herself, the Reshi, and the woman before her. It was quiet, as the hustle and bustle from outside was no longer in Neviah's mind. Simply before her was a girl who performed an outstanding deed to save those who were in danger, and saved their lives at the risk of her own. In the process, she lost her own limb and broke many bones. Neviah mended the bones and restored the blood that was lost, but now, Neviah was going to give thanks to the woman before her by returning to her that which was lost. The loose Reshi began to glow brightly, as this high powered Kido began to take effect. The sash around Nakami's arm came loose, as blood didn't pour from the wound, but instead, her nerves and muscle began to expand off the opening, as if growing like a tree. The bone began to grow, and gain in length as the Reshi slowly disappeared and became the missing limb that was taken from her. The other Shinigami watched in complete awe as their Vice-Captain was indeed restoring a physical arm to someone who just lost theirs. The bone grew to the end, as the muscle began to expand around it, and skin atop the muscle, and nerves getting in tact. From there, the regrowing began to take shape, as an elbow appeared, and from there, the upper arm began to take shape. Muscle and skin also growing around the bone appearing, to where at the end of that forearm, many slider type of bones began to appear, and cartilage filled the voids, as the wrist and hand began to appear in sight. Finally, muscle, veins, and skin took shape around the bone, with finger nails being the finishing touch, completely absorbing all the Reshi capsules that were given to Neviah, and completely rebuilding the missing limb from Nakami Yui. It was indeed a magical sight to be taken in, as the other Shinigami were speechless to what they had just seen. It was a miracle, that their Vice-Captain managed to not only save the life of this Hero, but give her back that which was stolen from her. The assistants all smiled and slowly surrounded Miss Nakami in joy to see her now looking normal and healthy. One Assistant went over to the vitals to indeed verify that her blood pressure, pulse, and everything was at optimum levels! This made all the Shinigami in the room cheer and celebrate for saving this ones life, but from Neviah, no cheers were had. Instead she looked at the closed eyes of the woman before and took in the peaceful expression she had about her. She seemed to be at peace, as if having a good dream, and it was incredible to Neviah. She was so brave, and it made Neviah wonder just how she saved all those lives. She was a Hero in Neviah's eyes, and one to be respected. If anything, this girl was a role model to Neviah, and she had so many questions she wanted to ask, thus as to ensure her stability and she wakes feeling wonderful, Neviah decided to stay by her side till she wakes, to personally ensure her health and welfare.
Not before long when Neviah's senses were in reality, she realized that performing that last Kido really drained her as she stumbled back a little bit to be caught by one of her assistants. The other Shinigami looked at Neviah in worry if she overdid it, but Neviah just smiled as sweetly as she always does and told them everything would be fine. She took her bloodied Obi Sash, and tied it around her waist as to restore her uniform to staying on her body, and not flying off of her. With that, she asked that a chair be brought to her, and one of the Shinigami complied instantly, by going to get a chair. While the others looked at Neviah in confusion, trying to understand why she needed a chair, Neviah explained to the confused Assistants in the room.
"I am going to stay here by this ones side, as to not only oversee that she wakes well, but there are things I wish to ask her..."
The others understood, but weren't sure if that it was a good idea that Neviah stay here without attaining proper rest after performing such incredible medical talents, but who were they to say what their Vice-Captain can and cannot do. Finally returning with a chair, Neviah took the chair with a smile and sat down, placing her hands on her lap and sitting up straight like a proper lady. Neviah appeared at peace as she closed her eyes and gently inhaled and exhaled, taking in the feats that she just performed for this miraculous being by her side. She was so excited to ask her many questions, but of course, rest was a requirement for all who have been through a lot, and just like Nakami, Neviah indeed need a little bit of rest for herself too. The other Shinigami quietly left the room, leaving Neviah and Nakami in the room together alone, and when that happened, Neviah opened her eyes a little to look at the arm that now took the place from where nothing once was. Slowly, Neviah was returning to her shy and timid self, realizing that all was well once again, but even then, she held so much honor and respect for the girl laying in this bed that she wasn't afraid of her at all. If anything, Neviah felt safe around her and that she had nothing to fear from this one before her.
Neviah of course didn't know much about her personality, she actually didn't know anything at all, other than her name and what she had just experiences, but Neviah didn't mind waiting to see exactly the type of person she was. Hopefully, when she does wake, Neviah can talk to her and ensure that they see the care she needs. Of course, Nakami will have to remain in the ER Room till she has received enough blood to fill the loss she had recently just sustained, and then from there, she will be taken to ICU for inspection and tests to see if her new arm is fully functional and all her body remains stable. Hopefully within a couple days, she will be free to return to duty, but of course, till then, she is Neviah's guest in place of her occupation, and she will remain her guest till restored to perfection. Till she wakes though, Neviah accepted the tired feeling before her, as she leaned forward just slightly, and fell into slumber due to feeling drained of energy. She accepted the wake of rest presented to her, thus her world went black and she succumbed to sleep. The room remained quiet, with the occasional beep of a heart respirator, and the sounds of oxygen entering the nose of the patient laying in the bed. Other than that, silence was in control, and remained for the peace of the two girls who were going to build a bond together...
