Bonds of the Past, Reflecting the Future... [[200 YEARS AGO]] Empty Re: Bonds of the Past, Reflecting the Future... [[200 YEARS AGO]]

Most remained black to Nakami right now. Her vision was constantly framing in and out from reality, when her eyes were open everything remained blurry. The sound of people talking and the yelling of Shinigami around her. Yet the voices remained muffled, every word she tried to listen to was hidden by a strong ringing in her ears, as if a bomb has exploded right before her eyes and left her shell-shocked. A ringing that gave her a migraine atop of everything else she was feeling. At this moment, Nakami couldn't help but wonder where she was. Trying to look around in her weakened state, the red-haired shinigami tried to survey the surroundings, but nothing could be made out. Trying to view anything, unless it was less than a metre away from her, was impossible. As she laid there, Nakami was held down by her thoughts. The only thing she could process through her mind was the pain echoing from the right side of her body as well as the multiple echoes of pain that filled her already weakened body. No strength remained in her body, she tried to move her arm to a upright position, but the most she could do was move the fingers on her left hand. The feeling that she met was wetness. A crimson red liquid filling her left hand, so she tried the same with her right arm.

For a moment, Nakami could have sworn her fingers were moving just as her left hand was. Only after a few moments did this sensation die, with her blurred vision she looked down to see if she really was moving her fingers -- yet nothing was there. Nothing but a pool of blood soaking into the pure white sheets which she laid on. Despite the pain being so severe, it was as if she couldn't scream from it. She tried to move her body, she tried to use her entire remaining energy to let out a scream of agony, yet the strength she exerted to protect her comrades was seemingly too much. She used too much energy to protect them... not even a silent scream could be heard from her in a near paralysed, but completely aware, state. She felt herself become light for a moment, then softly placed down onto a white bed -- the soft mattress touching her wounds and making her twitch insensitively from the sudden course of pain. Yet those pains, that amount of pain... was nothing compared to that which echoed over her right side of her body. At this moment, all went black again. All sense of consciousness escaped the red-haired woman's body, the blood loss and shock she was thrown into was enough to make her pass out... It was a surprise that she hadn't passed out from the pain and blood less earlier, however.

Yet even as Nakami laid there, as if lifeless, in a paralysed state, her vision was brought to many things. Almost as if sitting in a dream realm, as if she was viewing the 'light at the end of the tunnel' which everyone was always so boastful about in death. Her vision, within this dream, fell upon that of a radiant woman. Her face was not visible, for the bright light that shone off her body was too much. Yet she spoke with an evangelical voice, something with such grace, something which Nakami Yui had never heard in her lifetime. Her ears were hit with this voice, but she could not reply. The voice has simply said, "This is not the end for you, Nakami Yui. It cannot be." The voice was of someone she had never even met, nor did she believe someone could hold such an angelic and peaceful tone. Yet it did no matter to Nakami in the end, if her life were to end here, it would have been for a good cause. She had completed her task in life. If she was to die, the 6th Division Member would have rather died protecting those she loved than to grow old and weary. Fighting, alone, was not a wonderful aspect to Nakami. Yet, if it came to it, where she had to risk her life to protect those she held dear... that was something she would not even think about. That was instinctive to her. Common sense.

For a brief moment, she was taken away from this darkness and knocked out state, her eyes fluttered, the presence of another woman making an impression upon her as a green light covered Nakami's body. She simply let her blurry vision adjust for a moment, eyes slightly open, looking up at the white haired girl before her. Who was she? Nakami had never heard of her before, but perhaps her withered and near-death state was something to throw her off. Yet despite this pain she was experiencing, she couldn't help but feel intrigued. Nakami had prepared for her life to be ended right here. She was prepared for the worst to come to pass, to become one with the spirits of her ancestors before. Yet, it seemed that was not to happen. It was as if Nakami was extended the hand of God himself, drawn out of the way of danger and given another lease on life. Of course nothing was certain as of yet, but the very image of this woman above her, healing her wounds... was enough to bring hope back to Nakami.

"W-Who..." Speaking slightly under her voice, Nakami tried to ask the question of who she was, but all that came out was an exhaled breathe in the sound of a stuttered 'who'. It seemed she had still no energy. Yet despite this, she could feel her clothing soaked with her own blood, sticking to her clothes as if they were coated in glue then placed on her body. She had no idea what was going on, or what this white haired woman was doing to her body, but she did manage to grow a slight side-smile over the corner of her mouth. Although a sudden, new urge overcame her. Not one of anger, or happiness or those types of emotions, but something she had never felt before. With the white cloth covering her cut-off arm being removed, a new sensation filled her body. Surprisingly, it wasn't one of pain. Yet as her blurred vision looked down to her arm, her eyes slightly widened from their near-closed state. The feeling she felt was that of her very bones, her ligaments in her arm being literally returned and sprouted from nothing. One would imagine this a painful procedure... But all Nakami could think how a sense of relief filled her body. With most of her bleeding being stopped, the slow restoration of her right arm began to fill her with a sense of happiness. It seemed, even if she was brought back, she would be able to keep her right arm after all...

Nakami had many things to say to the person responsible, yet at the time she wanted to say something, her head tried to lift up, but soon found itself hitting flat on the white pillow again, her mouth open as she passed out and simply laid there with no motion. Even if she had tried to force herself awake, at this point, it seemed impossible.

The red-haired Shinigami's eyes fluttered yet again, the chirping of a swallow outside was the first thing she heard. The ringing in her ears had disappeared, the intense pain she felt from the prior night had disappeared. The room was silent for the most part, yet as her eyes opened fully, the light that hit her eyes blinded her a bit. A small time after adjusting to it, she still simply laid there. Pulling up her right arm with the energy she was able to muster, her gaze would see this once chopped off arm returned. She was surprised... just a day ago, this arm had been severed... and now she was moving it around as if it was just injured. Though she had a dead arm, as if someone had decided to punch her multiple times all over the arm, she managed to place it by her side and pull herself up. Cringing from the pain that echoed through her body, Nakami had managed to pull herself up to a seated position in the hospital bed that was surrounding her. The sheets and mattress were soaked with a crimson red colour, most obviously her very own blood. Whilst she didn't have the energy to leap out of bed and go back to her normal duties, Nakami was at least able to move again.

However something curious caught her eye. First thing she noticed was a woman sitting in a chair beside her bed. At a moments glance, Nakami couldn't tell if she was awake or not, her vision still remained blurred a tiny bit. As soon as her vision fell upon the girl, Nakami knew. She knew this was the woman that she saw amidst the procedures last night. Had she decided to sit by the bed until Nakami had awoken? Nakami smirked slightly, thinking that was an extremely nice gesture. With a slight crack in her voice, Nakami tiredly said, "T-thank you... I recognise you from slipping in and out of consciousness last night. I owe you my life..." Not paying any attention to whether she was awake or not, Nakami felt that she needed to instantly thank her. Her life had been saved by the very woman before her, she had restored the power of her right arm and given her a new chance in life. Though she was still blood soaked and in a horrid state from the prior events, this was of little concern to the red haired woman.

"What is your name, may I ask?" she pondered as loud as she could in her weakened state. Her eyes stung trying to keep them open, yet she endured and kept her body upright, simply leaning against the railing of her hospital bed now, allowing her a support on her back. Pulling off the remainder of her blood soaked Shihakusho, a wrap of bloodied bandages would be left, appearing to cover her large bust, the crimson colour of blood still soaking into her skin all over however. She couldn't stand sitting there in her blood-soaked shirt any longer, her immediate thought was to strip it off. It wasn't like she was exposing her bust at all, nor was she making an 'exposition' of herself, but it was more a natural reaction rather than caring about who was in the room. Heavy breathing overcame her body, her eyes never leaving that of the white haired female who had sat beside her bed, however. She didn't want her to feel as if Nakami wasn't paying attention to her, it was a matter of respect here... yet Nakami didn't feel like anything she could do, or ever do, would repay this woman for the kindness and general hospitality she had shown to Nakami this day. Noticing the Vice-Captain's badge on her arm, a stronger smile continued to cover her lips.

"I see, so I'm in the fourth division then... And you must be the vice-captain... I've heard about you. You are a very kind woman... but I suppose this was just your job, right?" Trying to laugh, Nakami began coughing a tiny bit and heaving in pain. It seemed she couldn't even be capable of laughing to herself was possible yet. Yet despite the pain she was in, despite everything, she was here. She was here right now. And due to her actions, although she didn't recognise them, all of her allies were alive as well. Perhaps she had caused an issue for the fourth division, Nakami thought that perhaps her actions were nothing but a hindrance. "I'm... Sorry if I've caused you any problems, vice-captain. I'll take whatever punishment you deem worthy, should it be necessary."
