Artist:Darkness OST - Song:Darkness - Word Count:2026
For one reason or another, the subjects of the nameless fiend's interest dissipated one-by-one. Whether by a lack of strength to endure the crushing veil of destruction that was to come or their own lack of desire or determination to stay, they had wavered and departed from the sector. All that remained were the corpses of the damned, a sole malevolent fiend, and an unfortunate soul left alone in the darkness against an otherworldly force they had little to no hope of quelling. The twisted child of the void he took interest in had vanished just as swiftly as they appeared. The nuisance of light's call followed suit. At the least now the unholy creation wouldn't have to deal with one of the most agitating and frustrating battles of its career.. It took in a long breath, the Hollow under the cloak of a Shinigami slowly turning its head. Its eyes looked over the already heavily damaged landscape of Sector O, looking for any other signs of life aside the single man that, through some miracle of personal effort had survived a potential oblivion.
Something had been off about that interaction..There should have been no way for the soldier to survive that attack without the aid of the former two present..Was his aim off? It must have been somehow. Perhaps in his usual delusions of chaotic will, he messed up his aim. What a silly mistake to be made! The visor around the Shinigami's eye said otherwise though. It picked up on details the man alone couldn't filling him in on trace details of the ability that saved the soldier's life. It was a rough estimate, but enough to know the cause and source of the little mess up. The spirit-forged insects that scattered around him were of little concern, even when their hindersome ability began to play out. The sonic waves hit the Shinigami head on, drastically effecting the creature's mind and sending them into a painful daze. Unfortunately for the remaining soldier though, these negative effects would do little to deter the unseen monstrosity. The puppet it inhabited served to absorb the punishment while he pulled its strings from the core. In effect? This made a large number of abilities much less useful against the parasite than most.
The bulky husk of a Shinigmi made one step forward, only to vanish n a flash of speed. Just as it would become apparent that they had dissipated, the same warped figure would emerge only a few steps from the wounded, but still capable Sijel. The power difference between them was enormous, a hopeless situation for a single man to emerge victorious from after the departure of their allies. All was not lost though, for the unseen Throne had plans for the warrior..Not just because they survived his attack a few moments ago, but something different about them that he could feel in the core of their being. Not a moment later, a muscular arm darted fro the bleeding and wounded butterfly enthusiast. Fingers intended to wrap tightly around their neck and pull the ma n from the ground in a frightening display of strength and speed. Their movements seemed blurred, and how easily they could overpower even seasoned fighters was apparent in the grip he forged. The strength of his grip compressed around their throat, making it even more difficult for the Visera to draw breath.
"I'm disappointed the others had to leave so soon, but I guess I can still enjoy this. Since you did so well avoiding a premature demise just now..I'll give you a reward..I won't even harm this sector any further-
The Shinogami host smiled deviously, a dark and demented power beginning to spill from their body. Trace amounts of the creature's true identity and power had already been unveiled oer the course of the brief encounter moments agp, but that was only a hint to the real thing. An overwhelming amount of Hollow spiritual pressure spilled from the figure, consuming the entire sector in a thick, all-consuming force. The air blackened as strands of dark energy began to circle around the two of them. The husks of Vanguard and Hollow alike that riddled the halls began to decay,. broken down from the immense energy that started to encompass the realm. The others didn't have the chance to find out, but this seemingly ordinary invader was far from mundane. Their nature and purpose in being here were unlike most Shadowfalll affiliates that assaulted the place in other sectors....But maybe it wasn't so different. While the energy that resonated from it was clearly one of a Hollows, it was corrupted even by the standards of their race. There was a taste of something more evil to it, a creation that resonated with chaos in purity almost as well as the mad Queen herself.
The thicker traces of darkness took form around the Shinigami, Ruvik's true form becoming visible for a brief moment. Black tentacles protruded from various spots of the host's body, mostly the arms and back. One construct was especially large though. From the center of the Shinigami's chest, a large appendage began to manifest. It was the core of the dark energy released from their body, a long, extensive neck leading up to the final piece. A serent-like head formed at the edge of the growth, crimson eyes and sharp, razor-like teeth filling its maw. The vile vector would draw closer to Sijil, should they have not devised a means of escape by now or attained proper help from another surprise entrant. Only a single of these constructs formed, despite Ruvik's full body being composed of a grand total of four of what could only be depicted as mutated hell-snakes. A different voice echoed out from earlier, the Monarch's will spoken directly rather than through the mouth of its current catalyst. Its voice was demented, riddled with a constantly changing, but low pitch. Its words dragged on, corrupted and filled with screech-like emphasis.
" Instead...You're going to destroy it for me and show me what you can do when given the opportunity of real power!
The tendrils would draw closer to Sijil, the corrupt energy of the partially seen Hollow drawing closer to them. They were a corrupted being as well, one of Demon blood that would come to embrace such a wicked future as what was to come...At least, for a short time. Without further warning, a dozen tendrils would go right for the ensnared Viscera's body! The edge of each oof them refined into a dagger-like edge, easily able to cut through flesh and puncture hierro-like defenses on contact. The darted fro multiple points on the man's body, intending to cut into their arms, back, shoulders, and neck. The goal wasn't to heavily wound them though, despite it being a result of the act. These tendrils intended to dig into their body entirely, disconnecting from the Shinigami host and embedding themselves into their new victim. These were only a start to what would be the most painful part of the procedure though.
The snake-like appendage opened its jaws, and endless void of darkness visible behind the rows of razors. It lunged forward as well, intending to bite into the flesh of Sijil's stomach and drill through their body! This wouldn't be a minor puncture wound like the tendrils, but a giant hole left through their very core if it was allowed to succeed. The serpent ripped through muscle tissue and bones, breaking apart everything in its path until it faded, sacrificing physical construct to lunge toward the creature's very soul! The physical wounds stopped forming, every construct coming together in the depths of their being and attempting to force their way inside, becoming one with their very existence and creating a new, much more dark and chaotic segment of consciousness in their collective. Before it was even complete, Sijill would feel their very being starting to change!
The wounds formed by the abrupt assault would dissipate, rapidly regeneration at a rate faster than even most Hollows. Even the earlier wounds from the kido spell cast in their direction would mend, fully restoring them to peak condition and then some. The more important part was what followed soon after though. The shinigami host still holding the Visera would release them, allowing them to fall as agony overtook them from their very soul being invaded. whether they stood or fell mattered little. A torrent of evil spiritual power encompassed the victim's being, their own strength being insanely amplified by the segmented parasite invading their core. Where they once were a mundane soldier with little power to spare? A well of ability grander than they could ever imagine would overtake them. It was like they had suddenly been given the gift of real strength, despite how vile and forceful it was in becoming one with them. Sparks of crimson lightning were forged around the man, their physical body even becoming superior to what they were a moment before. Muscles bulged from their flesh, speed, strength, and durability rising to new heights in seconds.
This was the power Ruvik tamed as his own. In a single move, he could turn a simple soldier into a monster of war.
The pain accompanied by all this power would never cease though until the soul accepted it and relinquished their resistance. One way or another, the coils of the serpent would wrap around their being and inject the poison of wicked intent into them. Of course there was still a chance to repel it and force that evil from their body, as minimal as it was. But why resist such a power of such immensity!? Well, for one thing, the body of the newly-attempted host wouldn't be remotely adjusted to it. In fact, the stores of hollow energy would begin to rapidly crack their bones and break down muscle. Was this just an elaborate way to kill them? To give this stranger power just to crush them under the weight of it. Regardless if the merge was complete or not at that point, the same corrupted voice would echo not in Sijil's ears, but directly in their mind.
" You are going to destroy this place and eradicate every person from the Vanguard you see, or else you will die.
