Home...that's what he had called Tokyo for many years and Kyoto had the claim of the title known as home as well.He hadn't been here for two years, a lot had apparently changed. A small gang had moved in and started causing trouble some time last year and have since grown. Family had moved into the apartment that Masaru had stayed and seeing as he hadn't seen them in so long he stood in front of the door, hood partially hiding his face as he simply stared at the apartment door...Number 37. The lock was electronic, key car based which made it child's play to get past, one touch and a few seconds and he would walk straight into the apartment without anyone noticing unless they were staring at the door that is.

He had no idea who was staying here, perhaps a quick scan for a camera or something inside would help? No he wasn't that sort of person...not to his own family at least. The thoughts spinning in his head, should he go see his Mother first? Maybe see Tokyo for what it is now? Perhaps even just go get something to eat...the thought of simply just stepping away from the door and running for it also crossed his mind but this was his family, they'd be happy to see him wouldn't they? He hadn't seen them since his Mother was moved to hospital, it wasn't like they didn't want anything to do with them, it was the fact that Masaru and his Mother couldn't afford the phone bill and it was eventually deemed unnecessary. Slowly he reached for the door to knock to see if anyone was home, then a feeling of fear froze him in place at that very moment.

Was it really worth it? Come here, see his family, see his comatose mother and walk away again? They'd probably try and make him stay if they could. Could he really blame them for trying, they haven't seen him in so long, he wanted to see them. He felt he had to but when the courage to try...he couldn't bring himself to do it. Probably the one he missed most of all was his cousin, Yukina...she was the closest thing Masaru had to an older sister and having no contact with her for so long was rather worrying. What if he saw her and she was mad at him for just walking away from his mother, it was a scolding he deserved but not one he wanted to hear. He knew he was cold hearted, he still was cold on the inside. He knew that people weren't worth the hassle much anymore, but he had met people that were exceptions to this. He had just never seen them ever again from the day he met them.

The sun was rising now, the darkness of the early morning slowly fading away as he stood there just frozen with childish fear. He had arrived rather early, it was only barely 6:30 in the morning. Masaru felt the warmth of the sun hitting him and it triggered the memory of his first morning here years ago, staring to the starts are they slowly vanished and the sun came up. He wasn't able to sleep well that night and the stars always seemed to comfort him. It was rather silly but they still did as he wandered from place to place the stars were like millions of watchful eyes. Always seeing him and always keeping him safe. As Masaru drew his hand away from the door he felt the suns warmth on him growing as it rose into the sky to give the light until evening would come again.

He wouldn't let himself leave Tokyo a scared little boy...so he took a breath and...

Knock Knock.

It was a normal day for her, as she rose from bed the woman yawned and looked to see her husband had already left for work. As she stood and got dressed for the day she looked to one of the photo's on the nearby shelf, it was her and a younger boy during new years eve. She smiled remembering that day and moved silently to the kitchen, humming a tune to herself as she prepared some breakfast for herself and filled a small bottle with some milk and formula and mixed it together before putting it in the microwave and set it for a few seconds to warm it up. As she took a bite from her breakfast, which was just a piece of toast with raspberry jam on it, she had to put it down as she hear the baby stirring in the other room. She walked to the room and watched as the child woke. The small infant boy opened his eyes and stared at his mother.

"Ohaiyou sweety, did you sleep well?" the child simply smiled to her as infants do and soon the boy was in his mothers arms. As she started to feed the boy and the phone rang, putting he bottle down and picking it up she answered while trying to do two things at once.

"Yukina, I have to work late, there was another fight between the police and the Red Tigers" the male voice said over the phone. Yukina frowned but she knew she didn't have much of a choice to say it was ok. "Ok, Be safe, they've started saying they'll attack the hospital if they don't get what they want".

"Yeah...the place is under watch so we should be fine" Yukina kept an eye on her son as she talked and a chuckle escaped her "I gotta go Yuki, see you tonight". As the phone call ended she finished feeding the boy and rather masterfully tied her brown hair into a ponytail with one hand and set the boy down on the floor with a small play set which kept the boy preoccupied with the rather bright colors and chiming bells. She sighed as she got dressed from her sleep wear and walked out. Turning the T.V on she channel surfed until she came to an early morning anime line up she watched as a kid.

Getting comfortable she watched her son and the tv at the same time before she heard it.

It was nothing but nerves now, as the door opened he saw the woman and baby. He was absolutely clueless as to who they were...then it clicked that the girl was his cousin. Masaru was speechless, he never thought he'd ever see her cousin with a kid of her own. The shock was a bit much at first but then he shook his head and bowed to her. Meanwhile the woman had no idea who this guy was, a man in a grey hoodie shows up at her door? What should she do? Easy, shut the door. She was about to do so but Masaru spoke "Ohaiyou Yukina..." a hint of regret in his voice, like he felt he shouldn't have left in the first place, in reality he shouldn't have.

The woman recognized his voice but it scared her, she quickly retreated inside slamming the door in his face and locking the door again. She moved back to the couch putting the boy onto the ground again and continued watching the TV but hugging her legs, shaking a bit. Masaru saw no choice but to place his hand on the lock and use the small bit of technopathy and hack into the system and the door unlocked. The beep of it unlocking was still familiar today. He stepped into the apartment and saw the boy on the floor fascinated by the play set. He quietly walked to his cousin and put a hand on her shoulder "Yukina...it's me...Masaru".

The woman shook her head and looked up to him "Your stupid voice made it obvious...where did you go..." she then realized he managed to get in "Wait how did you...get in?".

"I hacked my way in...so...you have a kid now..." he tried to take her mind off things. If he could do that then things won't be so bad.

"Hai...and a husband, you should meet him sometime...or will you run away again?" Yukina had a right to ask him that, he did run away from everything, his mother, his family. Everything was just left behind, and people had a right to ask where he was, what he was doing, why he ran. But he didn't want to answer them...not for now.

"No...I might not stay in Tokyo but...I'll make sure to keep in contact when I leave..." the two just stared at each other for a moment before there was another knock at the door. Out of habit, Masaru stood and went to the door opening, Yukina watching as she picked her son up and quietly observing. The man at the door was rather rough looking, around his late twenties to early thirties, a red tigers head on his jacket, the man was rather cocky looking and smiled to Masaru.

"Yo...I'm Takahrio, with the Red Tigers...I'm hear for my money that the people in this building owe the oh so gracious protectors of this cit-" he was cut off with his hand being jammed into the door, a cry of pain escaping him as he pulled his hand back and the door opened again, Masaru staring at him.

"Gomen...you said people owed you money? Have you tried getting a job?". This only angered the man causing him to pull out a switch blade and swing it at Masaru. An instant counter attack was delivered as Masaru grabbed the mans wrist, pulling him forward and slamming his knee into the gangsters gut. The knife dropped to the floor and Masaru pushed the man out and closed the door of the apartment, the winded man gasped for air only to be kicked in the side and then hit with a right hook to the jaw knocking him to the ground. Masaru stepped back to the door looking back to the man "Lesson learned?". The man struggled to stand and shouting as he rushed to Masaru and only took a swift jab to the throat. Masaru grabbed the mans collar and dragged him to the trash chute and opened the door and looked to the man taking a rather good guess and shoving him in head first down the chute. The mans shouts were heard a bit later as he managed to catch his breath than the crash as he hit the large trash can.

Masaru closed the chute and dusted his hands off and stepped back inside. Masaru and his cousin would spend the day in as it started to rain. They caught up and Masaru told his cousin where he had been and what he was planning to do. In turn he heard what his family had been up to and he was glad to know that nothing horrible had happened since he left.
