ENTER THE DEPTHS

The illusive dream that often haunts the sleep of all leaders is something. The dream of a tomorrow when they can lay down their burden. When they no longer need carry the mantle that so heavily weighs on their soul. The journey of a thousand miles often did begin in the first step for Ghislain. The distant thunder roared out in his ears. The sound of silence was all that echoed for miles without end. The eternal dream was all that he had right now, his slumber continuing. Yhwach's last act was to put him into a stasis to maybe teach him a lesson. His cerulean eyes began to slowly move as his mind came more open. Bits of stone fell from his body as he'd undergone some form of petrification that hardened his body completely. It was a harsh reality that awaited the former Emperor as he slowly shook the cobwebs in more ways than one. Slowly his digits moved making an unearthly cracking noise. From what he could gather he wasn't entirely sure where he was. His memories were fuzzy as he was last but it slipped away.

Slowly he moved his frame almost falling over as he tried to grasp for something. Holding on to the hand of a Reaper statue he chuckled at the pathetic state of things. How could he of not known that Hulderic and Yhwach would do this? They were nothing but traitorous snakes to the core. Leaning against the statue of the ominous being with its scythe. He slowly shut his cerulean eyes to begin feeling the blood of the Quincy. He could call out to them if he desired as he looked inside them. It seemed as though they had become stable and moved on. Perhaps, this was the best outcome as he glanced at his hand. The Emperor of the Quincy was a title he was the last one. With this turning him to stone and leaving him in Germany. What did they hope to accomplish by doing this from within his core? They were silent figures in his mind right now not speaking or appearing even in their usual visage. His short term memories were damaged as he remembered the creation of Hulderic. But something must have gone wrong or did that fool really believe he could get away with it?

His digits slowly touched his Regalia sighing softly as it was a comfort to him. Some slim comfort was better than nothing at all he supposed. Ghislain pushed his form weakly as he looked over the region. Scanning the horizon he took in the graveyard before his eyes made the inevitable transition upwards. This entire place was underground, it seemed he was buried alive by the looks of things. " Someone certainly had the last laugh." He mumbled to himself as he glanced around for an opening but sadly seeing none. Was this a burial ground of Quincy? A place they were laid to rest in the ancient time. It was hard to say what the circumstances were of this place. Finding an opening would be difficult and destroying it felt criminal. However, it seemed the choices were slim as he sighed looking down a bit regaining his balance. Slowly his right arm went up as he looked down apologetically.

"I'm so sorry that I must do this..forgive me for what I must do my brothers and sisters." Slowly his hand went upwards as a signal would go throughout the area. The Quincy themselves may have even noticed the surge as the Dark King's power flooded outwards. His hand growing dark with Dark Matter as a blast shot through the underground to the surface. Shooting into the sky as it parted the clouds and went into the heavens. Jumping upwards he began his ascent from the burial grounds outwards. The City of Bones rest below him, this place was hidden within the Ancient grounds in Germany. As he landed he fell backwards a bit as his legs felt weak still. This had been such a long rest he wondered how long had passed. His body felt strange as he tried to grasp what was going on. His eyes glanced around the area as he smelled the familiar air in Germany. He always could tell when he was in the homeland it was a comfortable reminder of things.

However, this time around something felt wrong and every time he tried to think. Pain gripped his conscious as though the memories wouldn't come. Nothing he did summon them forth for him. But now he didn't have a home to go to for the moment. No organization he needed to lead or battle for now. It seemed for the first time in a long time no direction was available for him. Softly he touched his necklace thinking of his wife now. She would take any direction boldly and decide on that alone. But something else bothered him, the question of how he got here. Had those two always been able to seal him up like that? The slumber had made his body stiff as he struggled to move his toes for a few moments. The important questions were able to be answered. He was Ghislain Eberhart, the Dark King of the Quincy. The man who inherited the curse of the Emperors. He had been working tirelessly for them even going to summon former Emperors. He'd helped bring Regalia to the forefront again.

The dream had been shattered and reality had emerged. It was time for him to get answers regardless. His frame slowly stood up as he pushed his long blonde hair to the side. His hair had grown long during his time as stone.

This Pressure. !!!

The elect had sensed something, something that she had never thought she would ever feel again. Even now with her pace pushing herself to the point that shed was but a blur that was whipping through the tree’s she rapidly approached the point that she had felt it. That damnable aura that even to this day since his vanishing had caused her not only needless worry, but frustration and eventually almost a kind of hatred. She also didn’t know what this would mean for her people, even now her silver eyes shifted constantly from the darkest steel, to the lightest platinum. Not because of the lighting around her though, no it was because of her own state of self, yet in her mind’s eye she could picture him, and she could sense him, so through the very concept of her ability. The essence of imbedding and controlling reishi with thought. She constructed a mirror, one that focused on Ghislains location and her own. From there it was just a matter of passing through the barrier, causing it to shatter into shards of glass as she entered her next location. To ghislain it would be most likely perceived as shards of glass breaking into reality, the dull bloom of sapphire colored spirit energy barely dusting the 10 foot radius of the reishi made portal.

From that Niflheim would step forth, however it was a strange thing for her. Once this man was her only superior, the one who led her people in the right direction. And she had been the one who stood in his shadow. However now, well she didn’t know what to think of him. He had ran, instead of leading their people like he should have? He inexplicably vanished. He left the quincy in a state of crisis, at first she had just been stunned in the days that had followed his absence. Then she had felt hollow, sick , disgusted that he had left, but she had still locked it up deep inside, into the smallest crevice of her heart in which she held her lesser emotions, and let it fester there. Even as it ate at her she continued leading her people, because they are her top priority. They deserve to be led in the right direction by one who will throw everything away to save them, to cherish them, to give them hope. She knew this, which was why seeing him, a remnant of the past, caused something akin to annoyance in her.

”I’ve found you, Ghislain Eberheart. It’s taken me quite some time, but none the less.”

Her words would be in a tone far from the kind, honest, outgoing persona she had with her people, for they deserved her love. This man, had lost that, which was why the full weight of her gaze, ancient in respect to most quincy had no gleam to it. It was only hard and frozen, much like how niflheim truly used to be until she too had thawed. Her back was straight, and her hair had flecks of energy radiating around it. Each step she took was measured, her hair bouncing with her stride until she stood directly in front of the former emperor of the vandenreich. Thousands of questions whirled through the Elect’s head, however she wouldn’t ask them. Even after the intial shock, the disbelief of finding him, the inner turmoil that shook and raged against the very fiber of her being, all of it had faded away to be replaced by the single emotion she had felt the first few days after he had left. The frigid chill that saturated her very bones, and caused her to arch a brow as she said quite bluntly.

”..There better be a good explanation for this, especially because i find you deep in enemy territory.”

She crossed her arms now and tucked her hands into her armpits. Which probably wasn’t dignifying, but she did it for good reason. The urge to bring bodily harm to this man was so great that it was like OCD, it was a impulse that she wasn’t going to sate, but couldn’t entirely squash and put into the corner of her mind. So yes she stood there, and waited for a satisfactory response. For something that might even make what he did even the tiniest bit okay, since from her perspective. All the trust, the respect, the integrity that Ghislain had was no more, there was no single person in the world, that she distrusted at this point, more than the leader who abandoned his people. Yet, he too was a quincy, so she wouldn’t prosecute him on sight, instead she waited, and kept an open mind, even though in her opinion. It was much more than he deserved.

His eyes opened a bit further as he detected the familiar presence. The shadow had come into the light and made things stable. "It's good to see you again Niflheim. he said as he got himself to his feet, his body still trembled. It was hard to stand after undergoing petrification by those two. Small pieces of stone still fell off his body in some places his hand had gray bits that tumbled off. "Indeed, an explanation is owed in full. " He paused for a moment to clear his thoughts as he had questions as well. She didn't know the circumstances of his imprisonment. He wasn't sure to what extent those two went and if they were active in the world. He could still feel them inside him as fading lights that had used their last power. " As you know I journeyed to join the melee that was for control of Rome. Yhwach and Hulderic Hylham, those two decided to encase me in stone.." He said sighing as he still felt those worthless pebbles falling off.

[color=#33ffff]"How long have I been trapped in this slumber Niflheim? I sense things with our people are finally stable.I knew you would do so someday." He said softly as he closed his eyes thinking about how long time had been stolen. First by Hulderic and now by Yhwach, those two really enjoyed interfering with his life. He had come to a choice in his slumber and she needed to know about it. She and all Quincy needed to know that the Emperor had died this day. No further did that title exist nor did the idea of an Emperor. Ghislain would be the last to bear the curse that it brought.
"I am the last, there will be no other Emperors Niflheim, you and the young ones are strong and doing fine without such meddling. I will not get involved or trouble you or the Vandenreich. I am not running, it's just for once I think I'll be able to journey around and enjoy the world." Ghislain said assuring her of this much, as he pondered what journey was ahead. He knew that Niflheim would likely not trust him or confirm as much.

Ghislain was finally able to rest and see the world. To journey around and see cultures for what they were. Ghislain didn't mean to act like a god for them or any such thing. He could sense the blood and feel it through the race. He didn't know if she would want anything from the Last Emperor. The man who bore the souls of Hulderic and Yhwach in him. That curse was enough for him to take to his grave. Perhaps he would be buried beneath the earth here with the others. So many below where they stood were buried in luxurious graves. The Vandenreich's elder members and things such as that. Ghislain hadn't known of it and wondered why he'd been put there. Was it to show this girl here who had inherited the future of the Quincy? A great legacy awaited Niflheim that much was certain. Ghislain always had known that as he shook off the waking sickness that trembled in his body. His stomach growled from not eating for so long. He chuckled a bit running his hand along his stomach.

"Guess I'll go hunt some food." He said commenting to himself as he felt like a child again. But the time of childhood things was out now. He wondered where in this world he would fit into place. Perhaps he wouldn't fit in at all and merely be a piece that moved around. He didn't plan to meddle in the affairs of the Vandenreich at all. Starting to move his frame more cracking sounds and more stone fell from his figure. He wasn't aware of either one having the power to put slumber upon someone. His cerulean eyes stared at the parted clouds taking them in for a moment. His blast had been strong still and the energy he had was potent. Ghislain Eberhart, the last Emperor to be lost to the sands of time. Fitting in the end that Yhwach's title and the entire thing be buried. And the Strategist who failed be the one who buries it entirely. His eyes fell on her now studying her features, he was sure she had much to say to him.

This dialogue would have great meaning for the future of their race in some way. Perhaps, he did have one last role to play before he faded into the background.

“. You dont say Eberhart.”

Niflheim’s voice was cold as she eventually looked around, at the landscape and more precisely at where they were. This caused her expression to darken even more after seeing the destruction of this grand place. All these bodies, of their proud race had been defiled by this man. Yet even that she’d swallow as she listened to his explanation. Past the anger, past the flat out hostility she felt about him, she could understand why Yhwach would do such a thing. Even when he was alive, at least from what she heard about the man he seemed to have been kind of a impatient brat. He did things without thinking of the consequences for the people that he had led. So she could see it, how that had happened, Even if it didn’t excuse his actions, at least it partially made sense. However it didn’t change her decision at this point, because she knew what she needed to do for the people to truly be free of this man’s blood line. The lineage that he had caused more problems simply because he existed. The Emperors had been the problem of the quincy, they foolishly acted and then discarded their people away like pawns.

Which was why for now she merely looked at him, her expression hard to read simply because she didn’t know how she was going to do this. All the coldness had merely been sapped away, and she was left with the gaping hole that made her feel very tired. She hadn’t wanted to be put into a position she’d have to do this to Ghislain from the beginning however, it seemed that the upstart known as yhwach was still interfering even after all this time had elapsed since his much deserved demise. Even as he made his assurances, that only solidified that she knew what she had to do. She had the image in her mind, the ethereal thread that connected every quincy to Ghilsain, and how they could be felt at all times. Now why did she know this? Well that was simple, it wasn’t exactly a guarded secret that the emperors of old had been connected to their people, it had been a part of what made them so effective, and so deadly. She was picturing the act of severance as well only then did she speak.

”..If you truly wish to simply wander, then you can no longer be connected to our people, i will sever that tie for you, who know’s it might even let you be free of them.”

Her words had a tired tone to them, because what she said was honest truth. Not to mention that even now her power marker was shifting, moving from P-10 to P-60, the amount of energy around them rushing to cause the reishi in the air to become visible, the very outer fringes at around a mile and a tenth being of the deepest sapphire colored blue. The interior being of a silver color which lit up the skies, a pinprick of energy that was most likely even visible from space. Theoretically she could do it, sever the tie between the quincy and their former emperor. The only problem was he would have to want it to happen, it was impossible for her to force change on someone on a level like this with her c the control ability unless he wanted it to happen, however for now she’d also say while lightly shaking her head from one side to the other.

“Even though what you said doesn’t make anything better, i do appreciate your honesty. “

And it was true, even though he explained himself, that didn’t change the fact that he hadn’t been there when the quincy needed him the most. This was why she hadn’t bothered returning the sentiment when he had said it was nice to see her. She honestly didn’t know if she was happy he resurfaced. Because right now all she saw before her was a variable, an unknown factor that could end up influencing the quincy people anytime he wished. This was why she needed to take care of this situation, it was her duty to save her people from heartache, and this was one of those situations. The only problem was, she didn’t want to harm him if he refused.

Eberhart's eyes closed slowly as he pondered her request. To cut the Quincy from the Emperor forever. It was something that should have been done and he'd planned to do it. It wouldn't be a comfortable thing that those desiring it could handle. But cutting the tie to the Emperor was an option. Those that wished for it could restore it if the desire was there. But it was time for this connection to die. They could simply restore it by intaking Ghislain's blood. "Please hold still, this is going to be a bit..uncomfortable at first." He said calmly offering a smile as his reiatsu spiked into the air. Ghislain's power surged through the area sending out waves of power as he exhaled softly. "On this day I declare the death of the Emperor of the Quincy, the blood ties are severed and the birth of the Verloren." His german accent carried the word as something struck out like a pulse. The pulse would hit every Quincy within their blood a feeling of absence began to fill them.

His power began to die down as he felt the connection within him break to them. Ghislain had to do this and not her for one important reason. Yhwach needed to remain imprisoned within and never freed. Freeing the Quincy of the figure that shackled them down was a wise move. "I will do what my wife and I set out to do originally..I'll shepherd those that are lost." He said offering her a simple answer to what he meant by that. Slowly touching the pendant on his neck he smiled brightly before walking off. It felt like the burden of the Quincy was off of him. His massive power could be used for something else. Something that he and his dear Elizabeth once fought for. To say they dreamed of that as children wasn't a far cry off. Cracking his shoulders he inhaled a bit as he pointed his hand at the burial grounds. Releasing a small bit of his power he influenced the ground to begin growing and covering this holy place up once again. They deserved a peaceful eternity not bothered by the noise. Manipulation of these particles to reconstruct and transmute them into a whole thing again was simple.

His hand returned to its place by his side as he exhaled now pondering. Where would he go from here was the question that came to mind. Ghislain wasn't sure what would come of the next steps ahead for him. The Former Emperor of the Quincy, a title he could finally get behind. The Dark King and Emperor really didn't suit him. He was a fresh and kind person who generally did his best to people. She would lead them into the new age somewhere bright. Relics of that war had no place poisoning the present. But a question did linger in his mind however here in Germany. What would the Vandenreich do when they crossed them. He gave Sing his word, but he guessed it was a bridge these children must cross alone. While she was still quite older than most she was still young in his eyes. Leading the Vandenreich and that position was something entirely different from what people understood.

"Well good luck on your journey." He said calmly before his frame turned and headed off. Ghislain was going off on a journey to bring from something unknown. Verloren was the goal from here, that dream of Draco, Genoveva, Ivan, and his dear sweet Elizabeth. Their dream could begin now perhaps. He protected the new generation long enough. They'd finally begun to move forward it would be an interesting journey for their people. But from here on it was time for him to focus on other things. Verloren the term given to the Organization in the founding phases during the War. It was an organization the was settled on guiding those lost unfortunate souls without a place to go. Those who didn't have a ground to stand on. It would take some time before he could even truly begin that process. The Lost Ones would it be something that he could renew alone? For now it was time to merely stand aside of the Vandenreich and begin journeying to see the World.
