_______________________________________________________________________________ ....Is this somewhere I can truly call "home"?
Flow City, it was called. One of the many cities within the Demon World. All he knew was the name. In fact, he was surprised with himself that he knew the name of the place. He had never set foot in the Demon World until now. As he was roughly yanked to his feet before, his head had snapped upwards, giving him the chance to gaze at the house that Arianda Vael had taken him to. It was most certainly something worthy of a Grand Duchess of Shadow Fall. His eye slowly wandered the room, looking at every little detail, emblazoning it into his memory.
Arianda was standing directly in front of him. Her could still feel her aura, swirling with different emotions. Confusion, doubt, longing. All of them were so strong in her heart. He knew how they felt. He could also, just ever so slightly, sense the fear that she kept buried deep down in her heart. Henrex's sad gaze seemed to slowly turn to one of understanding, but only for a single moment. She turned around, welcomed him "home" once again, and spoke the truth. He didn't want to lose control again. It was why he was afraid. He could see that she was practically reading him like a book.
Her hand soon grabbed his, causing his arm to shoot backwards, his eye widening with a sense of shock in the pitch black iris that was his only working eye. However, her hand soon tapped at the mask, sending a rather...unpleasant sound through his ears. Ever heard the saying "Don't tap on the glass"? Well, there was a reason. The sound that was produced by fingernails, or even by one's hands was horrible. It was like nails down a chalkboard. Because of this, Arianda would see his eye slowly scrunch up from the tapping on his mask. Her next words struck him as odd.
Why would I suffer detriments to my breathing from this mask?
However, before he had the chance to ask, she was gone. Not for long, though. Returning soon after with two chocolate bars, handing one to him. Before taking it, the boy's hands slowly reached towards the mask that resided on his face, his fingers sliding the straps of the mask off, and the mask soon rested within his hands, his eye slowly looking to the side, partly embarrassed. The secondary reason of wearing his mask wasn't because of the scars and broken eye. It was because he wanted to hide.
Slowly lacing the straps of the mask to the belt loops on his jeans, Henrex soon had his hands free. Gently, but cautiously taking the chocolate, unwrapping it slowly....and taking a bite. The treat melted in his mouth, and sugar rushed through his veins, and his eye widened. Holding himself back from wolfing it down in one go, he slowly took careful bites of the candy, before finally finishing it. He still felt awkward for having not only his face uncovered, but not having his own clothing on his back. It felt so weird for him to have a simple black t-shirt on him.
His wrist was nabbed, and his entire body was yanked forward, by none other than the demoness that was helping him. As his body was dragged throughout the building, heading for the depths of it, his eye was taking in all the details. The building's colors were...strange, to say the least. Red, green, and blue. While he did enjoy to see the color blue in the building, the mixture of such three colors was something that Henrex really couldn't figure out a reason behind. Perhaps he wasn't meant to? His thoughts, soon interrupted by his senses ringing off. He could feel the emotions that had caused his hunger to go out of control.
His mind instantly started sending off warning signals, telling him to get away from there before it happened again. However, his body made no move to do so. As the two stopped moving, Henrex simply watched as she opened the door, before grinning. Feeling his wrist quickly being strangled by Arianda's hand, he heard her softly cackle, then her call him a really...really...bad nickname. It hadn't even been a full minute since she gave him the nickname and he didn't like it. Pulled off his feet before even a single thought could be processed, Henrex was soon dragged through the door, hearing it slam behind him.
Skidding down the stairs, through corridors, doors, hallways, and more, the two soon stopped abruptly, with Henrex's body launching off the ground and landing in Arianda's arms for only a single moment, before being placed back onto the ground insanely quick.Even if the experience was short, it still caused the boy's cheeks to slowly turn the color of rosy red. His entire body froze up, his arms locked at his sides, his body slightly shaking.
His head slowly turned towards Arianda, seeing her arms spread out, and her grin grow wider. Why was she so happy about this? Feeling something warm wrap around his hand, his eye slowly looked towards the limb to find Arianda's hand on his. Even if it wasn't meant to be anything, the boy's face turned redder than ever, resembling a tomato at this point. After all, what was a shy, anti-social kid supposed to do in that kind of situation. He looked into Arianda's twin crimson eyes as she spoke, and his mind was hit with so many emotions and thoughts.
His head slowly turned towards the torture victim that lay there, practically bubbling and coursing with the emotions that he could feed on. Negativity, the prime category. There were so many things that he could feed on because of that one category alone. Pain, suffering, fear, torment, anxiety, the list could go on and on. His feet slowly began carrying him towards one of them, which, to his senses, was emitting the most of his delicious emotion. His left eye began to stain itself red, with the side of his mouth beginning to leak saliva from the hunger that was coursing through his body.
However, he had control this time....he hoped. He had to act quickly. No hesitation. It was like someone had told him one time. Never hesitate. Even if it's something you're terrified of doing, don't hesitate for even a single second. Closing his eyes, Henrex's body slowly resumed movement, before tilting the victim's head to the side, revealing his neck. Opening his mouth and revealing his pure white teeth, fangs formed themselves upon his pearly whites. Gently setting his teeth on the tender flesh of his neck, Henrex's demonic side began to take over.
His eye began to glow brighter. His teeth sunk deeper into their neck. However, he still had even the slightest fragment of his mind left. He wouldn't eat him. He wouldn't eat him. He slowly began to eat all of the negativity that he was emitting. It was hard to eat without his other side telling him to dig in. Eat every last BIT. However, he managed to keep himself stable as he continued. The victim soon ran out of negativity though, and he felt like an empty husk of what he used to be. However, his mind listened to his Demon side and moved on.
He consumed every last speck of negativity from these people. This wouldn't cause any negative effects to his body from the immense consumption. Why? Because the young Hybrid boy had not eaten anything to feed his demon side all his life until now. Even now his demonic side would only be filled by at the very maximum by around a forth. However, he wasn't really feeling anything different in his heart. Being so inexperienced with his demonic powers, his body really didn't know how to separate the nutrients that a Demon found within the emotion, from the emotion itself.
So, as a result, by consuming the negativity of the torture victims, he was, in short, increasing his own negativity. The poor boy collapsed to the floor on his knees, his head bowed to the ground. Pain, misery. It all swirled around his heart like a whirlpool. Sighing softly, Henrex slowly reached for his mask again, detaching the item from his jeans, and went to put the item on his face. Gently tightening the black straps around his face, Henrex soon stood, the mask once again on his face.
Gently, mechanical breathing came from his throat. His eye remained on the ground, his mind fixated upon the thoughts and feelings swirling within his heart. His mind and his heart were practically blank. He had no real train of thought that would lead to him asking anything, commenting, or anything like that. All that was hanging within the air....
GO ON, MOCK ME! SAY I'M INSANE! YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT, I'M GOING FUCKING NUTS!
Madness. Such a powerful, corrosive, and amazing thing. It was something that seemed to corrupt and infect everything it touched. Hence why the young male that Arianda called her apprentice was not moving at all. The maniac energies and mania itself seeped into his mind, awakening madness that Henrex had never felt to the extent of Arianda and Mana. It wasn't exactly something that he wished to experience to such an extent of seeking methods of obtaining such energies flowing through his system, but rather, he had been curious on the effect that it would have on his body and mind. Well, it was time for him to finally find out, now wasn't it?
There were so many things that he was feeling when Henrex was first introduced to the full extent of the pure essence of insanity, madness, ect. But, there was one that was raging through his veins. For the first time, he felt powerful. He felt strong. He could feel the energy's illusive effects flood his body, bringing the false feeling of power through his veins. It felt....amazing. To Henrex, it felt like the most amazing thing in the world. However, even with it all, the boy's body remained still, and his voice released nothing but silence.
The aura of Arianda was a cluster of emotions and desires. Lust for someone, madness. That was only scratching the surface. There were too many to list what was going on with the mind of his sensei. It was all so very delicious to simply be a witness to. Not visually, however. He wasn't looking at her, or even facing her. His back was turned towards her. His eyes stared at the ground, with the only sound that was coming from him would be the gentle sounds of his altered breathing.
However, what Arianda would most likely not be able to see....was a grin. A grin that had come from the maniac that had taken over Henrex's mind. It was no separate being. It was the tainted, maddened mind of Henrex. All of that madness that had built up within his head had manifested itself into a separate persona that now had come to power within the mind of the Raven. The immense mental stress caused the mind of the Raven to forcibly create a new persona. After all, one could not simply push something such as madness out of one's head, now could they?
As Arianda would approach the apprentice, she would most likely notice that the mask that had previously been on his face would now be dissipated. After all, it had been made of his spiritual energy. The sound of metal clicking and clinging against something is what caused the Hybrid's head to perk up slightly, his grin fading ever so slowly. He could feel the source of where his own mania came from. Arianda. As his ears picked up the sound of her approached even closer, his hands flexed and trembled with unknown excitement. The feeling of a hand tracing over his neck caused his head to curve back, his grin growing wider as his arms dangled at his sides.
Her arm soon latched onto the male's shoulder, digging deep within it, causing a small portion of blood to leak out and trail down his back and chest, but the pain never reached his nerves. Thus is the reason why the maniac in the body of Arianda's apprentice didn't even flinch at the tiniest prickle of pain running up and down his arm and shoulder. However, that was not the end. Her fingers pierced and dug into his face, ripping into the squishy flesh and causing blood to spill down his face, with the wounds slowly repairing and fixing, only to be torn open again and again, not just by Arianda's hands.
Demonic, unholy magic tore into his blood. If it was a bit more realistic, it could be flowing directly into his nerves, and, even his DNA itself. It rippled through his veins, before reaching his mind, fueling it with the knowledge of a Demon's feeding, as well as aligning the energies within his body, causing them to swirl and travel throughout his body in perfect harmony. Such an odd feeling, for his body to be at this very peak of peace and zen.
While he body was not in permanent perfect harmony, as noted by the conflict that his body was already starting to go through, but it was something that seemed like it couldn't be helped. Feeling a hand tap him on the head is what brought the boy back to his senses. The crimson red eyes of the boy turned back to their usual, matched colors. His mind was in a frenzy. He didn't know what to do, nor what to say. His hands slowly rose from their dangling position at his sides, and his mismatched eyes stared at the pale flesh of his hands.
Things seemed to be going right for the unlucky Hybrid for once. This was one of the reasons why he really couldn't think of anything to say. Sighing softly, the mask that had previously dissipated soon re-formed itself on his face, with him tying the mask even tighter than he had before. The cold leathery feel of the mask seemed to feel more...haunting, after the events that had transpired just mere minutes ago. Not even turning around to look at Arianda, he simply kept his back facing her, with his eye facing the ground and wall.
For some reason, the Raven felt....empty. While he still was managing to feel the tiniest sense of relief and happiness for the changing of his racial conflict, he still felt blank and emotionless. It was almost as if he felt like something had changed within him. Slowly rising to his feet, the silent steps of the boy would take him in front of Arianda, looking her in the eye.

Arianda cackled loudly at her efforts as tentacles sprouted from her back at waved around wildly as she continued to laugh and laugh. She was laughing so much that the powers of conflict she hadn't yet perfected showed itself in causing lights to literally collapse in on themselves in the area around Arianda. This would actually have a chance at scaring Henrex as Arianda continued to laugh and laugh; taking on an attitude that was very Mana-esque. However, she wasn't done there. Her form shifted until she was in her Chasm Revival, for only a moment, appearing naked in front of the man for only a split second, not enough time to get a good look, as she returned to her fourth Adjustable State. She finally stopped laughing as she stuck her face right into Henrex's, her tentacles no longer writhing as if they were trying to launch free of Arianda's back. She grinned at Henrex as her heterochromic eyes, one red one green, stared into his own eyes; seemingly piercing into his soul as her hand slowly gripped the boy's throat. She created enough pressure for a very soft squeeze, but, it clearly had no mal-intent behind it. No. She was clearly just grabbing his throat to grab his throat, cause why the fuck not eh?
With the large grin still ever so present on Arianda's face, she cackled a little more when Henrex asked her what was next. Next? Next was the time to teach Henrex how to use his fucking powers or she would KILL him TRYING!! Well, maybe not kill him. Seriously debilitate him until he can't move for a good month? Sure, that sounds like a good idea. Let's do that, shall we? Pff, maybe. It would be fun to hear his screams of pain again; so scrumptious. She licked her lips and then decided to give the boy a little something that meant literally nothing to her. With just a tiny movement she tightened the grip she had on Henrex's neck, not hard enough to cause damage, and gave him the shortest kiss in the world; barely lasting even a second. Afterwards she cackled at the boy, and then tapped his lips with the fingertip of her left index finger.
"First and last kiss you'll likely get from me, hun, so you better fucking enjoy because you really ain't gonna get another. Oh, and by the way, that literally meant nothing. Think of it as a... hmm... ah, reward for living!"
She grinned and then proceeded to pull Henrex along with her, basically dragging him by his neck as she moved towards a stairwell. The grip around his neck was clearly not meant to threaten, hurt, or maim, but, it was a clear sign of dominance that Arianda normally shows to those she either takes as pets or makes servants. Henrex was neither of course, but, it still gave the demonic female quite a nice feeling throughout her body to take this main and treat him as if he was nothing more than an asset or livestock; of which he was neither. It just felt nice to Arianda for her to treat him so.
When Arianda finally arrived at the stairwell she started to drag him down the stairwell quite readily; his legs likely bumping against the steps. When they were finally at the bottom of the stairwell, Arianda threw Henrex into the room that they just arrived in; a rather large room at that. If Henrex wasn't too buried in madness or the fact that Arianda had given him the shortest kiss in the world, he would notice that the room was lined with weapons of all kinds from different ages. All the way from medieval to the present; a very nice selection indeed. Of course, none of them were antiques to look at. Hell no. Every single weapon was completely usable and extremely deadly. With a grin, Arianda spoke to her poor, poor, Apprentice.
"Alright then, Henrex. Time to train your silly little mind how to control your demon powers. I see no use in turning my new Apprentice loose unto the world until I make sure he won't turn into a rabid beast I have to put down myself. Now wouldn't that be sad? Anyways, as much as I would like to rip off your arms and have you regrow them with some body manipulation; let's start off a little simple."
Arianda cleared her throat as she crossed her arms and she thought, her green and red eyes focusing on the ground as she thought. If Henrex wanted to straight up fight; she could do that. Hell, how she was now she could accidentally kill the boy and not care. But, she didn't exactly want to do that, so, she may limit herself to limb breaking, mind corrections, and a little strength training. Becuase, let's face it; this kid's a twig. Arianda sighed softly and then finally raised her eyes to Henrex as a grin slowly grew on her face and the tentacles on her back writhing a little bit.
"Let's start with Body Manipulation. I doubt I can teach you the kind of body manipulation I know, but, I can definitely give you the basics of it. First thing's first. Change your right arm into steel, but, do not change any other part of your body. How you do this may be a little different for you than me. For me, it's a mix of seeing the change in my mind and actually forming it with my mind from my arm. For you, it should be different. I say this because my body manipulation is thanks to my lovely Mana. So, how yours works should be different. But, before I blabber on until I get bored and decide to break one of your limbs, I suggest you try some body manipulation. Go ahead now."
Arianda grinned and waited for Henrex to try to use body manipulation. Would it work or would it not work? Hard to say as he was clearly not an expert in the field, but, Arianda could tell this boy was not some simpleton that she should just rip the head off of. But, maybe she would get the chance. Who knows? This boy could turn on her and then she'd get the pleasure of killing her own Apprentice later on. Now wouldn't that be fun?

EMBRACE THE DARK
Artist: KY0UMI - Song: Unravel - Word Count: 1,341
Insanity was thick within the air, and Henrex could practically taste it from how present it was in the room. It wasn't exactly terrifying to him, but it was something that was unnerving. That wasn't the same thing as being terrified, right? So. as Arianda's laughter continued to increase in volume, and protrusions burst from her back, Henrex's eyes simply blankly lay upon her form, staring at her as she also began to transform to some sort of separate stage, before zipping back to her previous state.
Her face jammed through his personal space, and her hand locked itself around his neck, breaking off a good portion of the flow of air from his throat and lungs, causing Henrex to gasp out at first, and his arms raising as if to begin a struggle, but the fear that came at first soon subsided. As she grinned wildly, both of their mismatched eyes burning their mark into one another, the sudden feeling of something connecting to his lips caused his eyes to widen. There was no real emotion that came from both that sudden kiss, or Henrex's mind and heart. As the split second of the moment subsided, her finger gently tapped against his pale lips.
A small spark glistened into his heart, before his mind forcibly put that thought out of his mind, and swore to himself never to think like that again. But, the mental and somewhat emotional punishment that was coming from Arianda would only stack up as she said that it would be the first, last, and most likely only kiss that he would ever get from her, and that he should just consider it as a reward for living. A small sigh came from the boy, before air was yanked from his lungs as he was forcefully dragged along with Arianda as she traveled around the house, with the Raven in tow. As he was dragged, each and every bump, smash, clatter, crash, none of those caused any sort of reaction from him. He just sort of...dangled there.
All this time, thousands, if not millions of thoughts and voices rushed through his head as he was being dragged throughout this massive place to be trained in the half that he felt like he was never supposed to have. The voices, some his own, constantly argued and bickered over multiple things. Some of them talking about the situation with Mirja and Iko, some talking about Arianda, some even talking about Kuro and Zen. They weren't exactly having a positive conversation, now were they? But, there was one voice that stood out the most from the joining of thoughts into their own voices.
And that would be the strangely detached one. They were quiet, and reserved. Not much would come from them, and they would always be the one to have the most peaceful thoughts. Thoughts of kindness, and so on. There was a reason that this voice stood out from the rest. This was who Henrex Astillon was. Behind all of the fear, all of the melancholy, and most of all, behind the mask that he created for himself. The boy who was an epitome of kindness, and all things that a hero and someone good would strive to have. But, this small trance that he found himself into would soon be interrupted by the feeling of banging against his lower half.
As his mind cleared, and his eyes opened in reality, he could feel his legs banging against the stars that he was being drug up. As the door was opened rather loudly, the male's body would swiftly, and roughly, be hurled into the room, his body eventually crashing into the wall at the other end, which would cause many of the items that hung on the walls to shake and tremor from the strength of the person who threw him, and the impact that Henrex had made in the wall. Sitting up slowly after, still in a partial daze, Henrex's head turned and looked at his surroundings. Weapons lay across the walls, from many, if not hundreds of different time periods and eras. He could tell simply by looking that there were no antiques. No...these were all very, very real.
Once again, he was brought out of his daze by Arianda, telling him why they were here, which was to start working on the other powers that a Demon would possess. Did he even have them? After all, he was only a half-breed. Perhaps there was some things that he had from his Demon half, and there were others that he couldn't obtain, or simply just didn't have. So, there were probably limits to what he could do with his two sides, more than likely his demon side being much more limited. So, as his ears perked up ever so slightly, listening to what Arianda wanted him to perform first, which was something that he had read about in the very limited information of Demons within the Shinigami Archives.
Body Manipulation. Supposedly, the act to, as the name suggested, manipulate his body to just about any extent that the user had the energy to do. There was quite a number of vague points in those segments, but that was probably because of the limited information of the race in the Archives. So, as she instructed him to change only his arm into a line of steel, Henrex's left hand rose from his side, and his grey and red eye stared at the pale flesh that was one of his dominant limbs, since he was ambidextrous. How would he even do something like that? It was a confusing point about how he should go about the task at hand, but he knew that he would have to hurry and do something as simple as attempting.
So, the male closed his eyes and began to do something that he never really thought of doing before. Using his energy to control the aspects of his body. Another sigh came from him, before he could feel his energy flowing from the core of his being towards his hand. It may have been slow and gradual, but it was something that would most likely need to happen if he wished to perform this correctly. Eventually he would most likely learn how to perform this without the need for a slow energy buildup in the limb. Or maybe he would. He didn't know the future.
So, with that said, the energy that was flowing into his arm would begin to take a small hold on his current thoughts, and channel that into what his mind was currently thinking about, which was the line of steel that Arianda had told him to change his arm into. As his arm began to glow and shimmer with a purple, black, and the smallest tint of red, there would be a brilliant, but brief burst of energy that would occur from the arm, before the energy that was quickly running rampant would be soothed, and channeled into a much more calm way in the span of only a split second. This was something that would show how high of a level of control and mastery that Henrex would have over his energy, and it was something that many would be impressed about.
As his eyes opened, he could see that the deed was done. His arm was no longer a five-fingered protrusion with near limitless potential. Instead, it was a long line of metal, the color of silver, and the shine of white glistening into the beautiful item. As his head turned towards his arm and looked at what he had just done, there was a -- strange sense of...relief? No, that wasn't the word. It was a strange sensation of -- Happiness? Was that it? It didn't really feel like what it should have. Accomplishment felt like it was a better choice of word for something like this, but...he just wasn't sure. So, turning the steel so that Arianda would be able to see, Henrex would then await what her next request...or order, would be.
Arianda watched as Henrex seemed to be focused on the task at hand; which in fact happened to be his hand. Arianda watched as Henrex literally changed his arm into an I-beam of steel. She walked up to him and gently tapped the arm, a tiny ringing noise coming from it as she tapped it. Arianda then took her hand away from Henrex and then looked at his arm. She tapped her right foot and then soon raised her own right hand and arm; showing it to Henrex. Of course, it was simply a normal Ari arm, but, in about a few moments Arianda's arm changed to be metallic and shiny. Arianda then rapped the knuckles of her left hand on her right forearm. She then looked at Henrex as the metal rang out. She then placed her right index finger on the metal arm that Henrex had as she looked at him straight in the eyes.
"Good... now then, do you see my arm? How it is metallic in nature but I still have complete control over my arm as it was before it became metal. Take this I-Beam of steel and turn it into your arm; just metal. Think you can do that? After that I think you should be okay for now. Body Manipulation is the most fundamental part of a demon; given how we, as demons, can change our forms at will. Of course, with you being partial demon, partial Shinigami, it is hard to say if you will be able to shift forms. At least as much. I dunno, we'll have to see, Henrex~"
Arianda gave a rather sly grin as she rapped her metal knuckled against the steel that was Henrex's arm and took a few steps back, crossing her arms, her metal arm changing back to normal, and watched Henrex do his thing. Of course, Arianda had a feeling he could do it, after all; body manipulation may be fundamental but it was also the easiest. The harder things, actually harnessing the powers his demon blood gives him, would be more difficult; but, that was for a later time. Henrex was just starting out with training his demon blood; his abilities. There was no sense in cramming his mind with the information as long as the abilities stayed balanced between now and when Arianda would teach him everything else. Of course, as long as he doesn't strain himself there shouldn't be too much worry. Then again, Arianda wasn't too sure of what Henrex does in his spare time.

Song: Stars - By: Skillet - Word Count: N/A
From what he understood, he had done what she had told him to do. Maybe it was the wording, maybe it was just that Henrex didn't fully understand it. Whatever the reason, he seemed to have done something that wasn't exactly what she wanted him to do. She hadn't said anything of the sort, but it was just the intent, and the feeling in the air that was giving off that kind of vibe.
His eyes lazily diverted towards Arianda's arm, seeing that hers was similar to his -- in a way. It was steel, yes, but the metal was coating her arm, which was something he noted as a bit of a more advanced or specific form of Body Manipulation. Thus, he made a mental note to try and advance this -- if it was a form of advancement -- before his head lifted and tuned into what Arianda was saying.
Looking at her arm and then his own, Henrex's gaze sharply turned back to Arianda as she told him to try and turn his arm into something akin to her own: An arm with steel lining it. It didn't seem hard, so Henrex attempted it. Reaching out with his energy once more, Henrex lifted his arm from his side and began to use that to reform his arm, rearranging the molecules in his arm and bringing down the size and shape of his limb.
The beam of steel would slowly begin to shrink down into his hand once more. Bringing his hand to the center of his vision and moving it around slowly, he could see that things...hadn't entirely gone as planned. His hand was coated in the metal, but it was extremely patchy. There would be parts of warm, pale flesh that would stick out from the long section of metal that encompassed his hand. A soft exhale of disappointment came from Henrex as he saw this.
"...Well, that didn't go as expected." He mumbled. "Either way, it'll just take me a bit of training to get this."
Lowering his arm as it quickly turned back to normal, Henrex would take another deep breath. The two would spend most of that day, along with the next few days on the basis of his demon half, and what he could do with them. Some of the lessons weren't able to be had, with Henrex being fairly limited on what he could do, but it was something that he could keep in mind for what he could learn from others of his kind.
Thus, there would be a distinct increase in these days, both in mind and spirit. It was something that would allow him to be able to grow as a person, and come to an understanding of the thing within him that at first he outright detested. Now? He had come to a point where he knew what he was, and he had come to accept it. After all, with Arianda's help, he was able to come to terms with all of this.
He was a creature of impure nature and something that truly was not meant to exist by normal standards.
That was absolute.
That was a fact.
