I. The Host's Basic Information
» Name: Jūshirō Ukitake (浮竹 十四郎, Ukitake Jūshirō)
» Titles: Headmaster of Shin'ō Academy, Head of the Ukitake Family
» Race: Shinigami
» Age: Approximately 1,800
» Gender: Male
» Affiliation/Rank:
- Gotei United: As a former Captain of the Gotei 13, Jūshirō holds the Gotei United in high regard. In return, he's held in high regard as being one of the oldest former Captains still alive. "All of us have the same pride in our hearts. The pride of shouldering the weight of the Gotei 13."
- Shin'ō Academy: As the current headmaster, Jūshirō is highly tied into the fate of the academy. He supports the school the best he can, and he occasionally teaches a class too.

I. The Host's Personality
» Personality: Jūshirō was always regarded as the most approachable of all of the Captains during his time serving. He didn't brush a single person off, and treated everyone around him with respect. This went all the way down to the unseated officers of his Division. He'd talk to them like they were close friends, even if he had a hard time remembering many of their names. He promoted a camaraderie in his Division that helped form who he is today. He believes that the best way to operate is with people you view as friends by your side, not alone.
In fact, a good friend is just as good as mastering one's own Zanpakutou in Jūshirō's eyes. That good friend could have answers to a question you don't know the answer to or they may have a power that complements your own. More than that, that friend should be there to back you up—especially if they are stronger than you. Jūshirō believes that the strong should protect the weak when they can, and friends should protect one another. It's why he'll stop at nothing to protect his subordinates or those that rush to their aid.
Friendship isn't all Jūshirō is about though, despite what one may think. Jūshirō is also honorable to an H. He knows how important one's honor can be. For the most part, he's more than okay with stepping aside if a battle is for one's honor or pride. Unless it's a fight that is wrong in his eyes, Jūshirō feels that upholding one's pride (as it ties in with other peoples' pride) is rather important. The kind of battle for one's pride is one he holds dearly.
Jūshirō tries to keep up a smile as much as he can. He doesn't want to worry others about much of anything. This is especially true about his "illness," the truth of which only Retsu Unohana and Shunsui Kyoraku know. Jūshirō downplays his illness, its effects, and especially how much it drains him. If it gets so bad he faints (which happens moreso during the summer months), there's usually enough of a delay for him to say something like "I think I'm going to lie down now." Jūshirō hates having people wait on him and tries to be curteously early to events.
Jūshirō was one of the most kid-friendly Captains as well. He was known to go out and spend time with some of the children near the Rukongai. However, he was most known for visiting children in the hospital. He would show those with terminal illnesses that he, a Captain, was just like them and if they worked hard enough with their friends, they, too, could be strong. To the kids, he'd emphasize that friendship was the strongest power they had however. Jūshirō will never discipline a child with force. He thinks that it's wrong to hit a child, even in battle. The only thing one should do is defend and try to convince the child that the battle isn't right for them. As a last resort, he would restrain (without harming) the child.
Jūshirō's worst personality trait is, perhaps, his funniest. Jūshirō has no taste when it comes to gifts. Rather, he has no idea what people want. He thinks "Oh, they would enjoy this!" while picking out some of the worst gifts possible. This is mostly evidenced by his constant gift baskets of candies he sends to Toshirō Hitsugaya. He doesn't understand that it's belittling the Captain—he just thinks that someone young would like them.
I. The Host's History
» History:
- Canon History:
- Ukitake is the eldest son from the low-class aristocratic Ukitake family. He has five brothers and two sisters, whom he essentially supports by himself. At the age of three, Ukitake developed a fatal lung disease, which caused his hair to turn white. His parents were very superstitious, and when he was abandoned as a lost cause by the doctors, they took Ukitake to the outskirts of the 78th District of Eastern Rukongai, where they prayed at the shrine of the "old fallen god" Mimihagi to save their child. It was thanks to Mimihagi that Ukitake survived and eventually became a Shinigami.
He, along with Shunsui Kyōraku, were one of the first graduates of Captain Yamamoto's Shin'ō Academy and they were the first graduates to become captains. Furthermore, he was personally trained by Yamamoto himself. He and Kyōraku are the oldest captains among the Gotei 13, with the exception of Retsu Unohana and Yamamoto himself. It is stated that the four of them have been captains of the Gotei 13 for at least 100 years as of 510 years ago before the current time.
Approximately 510 years ago, Ukitake arrived at the 1st Division Headquarters with Captain Shunsui Kyōraku and Lieutenant Lisa Yadōmaru of the 8th Division. He first asked about the whereabouts of the 12th Division captain. As Shunsui and Captains Love Aikawa and Shinji Hirako started a conversation about the status of the Gotei 13, he reminded Shunsui not to forget Captain Unohana as one of the captains from 100 years ago. He then went inside with the rest of the captains to await the arrival of the newly-appointed captain of the 12th Division, Kisuke Urahara.
The following day, he tried to persuade a then-reluctant Kaien Shiba into becoming his lieutenant. The two conversed about the current happenings in Soul Society, including a young Gin Ichimaru, who happened to be a child prodigy surpassing the previous record set by Kaien himself. Kaien shrugged off any attempt Jūshirō made at him being any type of prodigy. While visiting the Shiba residence, Jūshirō was quite popular with the servants, with Kaien noting that Jūshirō was still very charming and that he had a smile that made his servants blush. Jūshirō dismisses the compliment as he tries to remain humble about his notable quality.
9 years later, Ukitake was present at an emergency meeting called by Captain-Commander Yamamoto, where he decided to create an investigation team to locate the missing 9th Division squad members. When he gave out orders, Yamamoto ordered him to guard the Seireitei. Jūshirō was seemingly stunned by Kyōraku sending Lisa to investigate the disappearance of the 9th Division captain and lieutenant. Jūshirō, due to his illness, was rarely able to fulfill his role as captain on a regular basis, instead having Kaien fill the role under his guidance.
Sometime later, when a then-unknown Hollow killed a squad being lead by Kaien's wife, Miyako Shiba, Kaien became enraged and wanted revenge. Despite this, Jūshirō tried to reason with him that nothing was known of this new Hollow. Kaien did not relent, so Jūshirō gave him the only information they did have, the lair of the creature. The following night, Jūshirō, Kaien, and Rukia Kuchiki traveled to the Hollow's lair, and when they arrived, Kaien asked for permission to fight the creature alone, which Jūshirō allowed. Kaien fought the creature evenly until it used its unique technique and destroyed his Zanpakutō. However Kaien continued to fight the creature with his bare hands. Eventually, the battle started to turn against Kaien, causing Rukia to try and assist him. Jūshirō stopped Rukia from assisting, explaining that Kaien was fighting for his honor. The Hollow's abilities allowed it to possess Kaien and Jūshirō began to fight it, but his illness got in the way and allowed the Hollow to attack Rukia. But at that moment, to both Jūshirō and Rukia's horror, Kaien took control and impaled himself upon Rukia's sword, thanking the captain for understanding the value of his honor and that of his wife's.
Ukitake is informed of Aizen's apparent death by one of the messengers of Soul Society, and is rather shocked when told. He later visits the Senzaikyū, where he stops Captain Byakuya Kuchiki from killing Ganju Shiba and questions his actions, only to be told that special wartime orders have been issued. He later prevents Ganju and Hanatarō Yamada from getting killed for their crimes by having them locked up. After hearing of the execution date being moved up, Jūshirō tries to convince Byakuya to do something, but the noble seemed uncaring that his sister is dying sooner rather than later, and in the stress of the situation, Jūshirō shortly succumbs to his illness. Jūshirō decides to help save Rukia and tries to request a hearing with Central 46 (off screen), but upon being turned down, sets out to help using other means.
His new plan sets around unsealing the Shihōin Shield, an artifact belonging to the Shihōin Clan that is in his possession for unexplained reasons. Using this device, he arrives at the execution site, almost too late and along with Captain Shunsui Kyōraku they destroy the Sōkyoku. The two are then faced by Yamamoto, until Kyōraku grabs him and both of them run away, together with Kyōraku's lieutenant, Nanao Ise. They are, however, caught up by Yamamoto who, after almost choking Nanao with his spiritual pressure, releases his Zanpakutō. Ukitake notes on how long it has been since he last saw that battle stance, and on the urges from Yamamoto both of them release their Zanpakutō in order to fight on equal ground with their former teacher, resulting in a large explosion as they clash.
The battle is, however, short-lived and is suddenly stopped when the 4th Division Lieutenant Isane Kotetsu reveals to all of Soul Society that Sōsuke Aizen is a traitor, something Ukitake appears quite shocked to hear. When Aizen is captured, he seems genuinely put out that the former captain has become 'this corrupt' and voices his opinion on the matter while Aizen is escaping with Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tōsen. Aizen only responds by saying that Ukitake is arrogant, revealing his plan to sit on the throne of heaven.
Ukitake is present when Yamamoto calls him and all the captains for an emergency meeting. While speaking to Hitsugaya, Yamamoto explains that Ukitake had been investigating the Great Spirits Library when he discovered a document unrelated to the Hōgyoku that Aizen had accessed. This document had been about the Ōken - the key of the royal family.
He later observes Rukia and Orihime training at the Thirteenth Division's training ground. He is approached by Lieutenant Shūhei Hisagi, who gives Ukitake a copy of the Seireitei Communication and wonders about Ukitake approving of Orihime and Rukia's friendship given that Orihime is a human. Ukitake discusses Rukia's friendship with Orihime Inoue. Ukitake says that friendship is a great thing no matter what and further notes that Orihime and her friends aren't normal and may well become Shinigami once they come to Soul Society at the end of their life. Ukitake then asks Hisagi about his role leading the Ninth Division. Hisagi states that he did not know how much work a captain had to do as Kaname Tōsen was the kind of captain that never let his subordinates feel his burden. Ukitake invites Hisagi to join him for a bit, but Hisagi declines. As Hisagi walks away Ukitake notes that too short a time has passed for hearts to heal.
Ukitake later hears that Arrancar are attacking the Human World and tells Rukia to go to the Senkaimon to help out the other Shinigami in the Human World. Orihime attempts to go with her as well, but Rukia states that without a hell butterfly she would just be sent to the waste dimension. However, Ukitake goes over to where they are and tells her that instructions were sent to secure the walls of the waste dimension and that she can pass through freely in a little while. He tells her that he understands that she's in a rush to get there, but in times like these it's good to be patient. Rukia tells Orihime that she will go ahead and wait for her and leaves. When Orihime is brought to Hueco Mundo, Ukitake addresses Hitsugaya's advance squad letting them know that he was the last person to see her before she entered the Senkaimon. He informs them of how she vanished and could be dead before he is interrupted by Ichigo and Yamamoto.
Ukitake is present during the Arrancar battle. He is shocked by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's initial, swift actions, wondering if such harshness was necessary. When the pillars are successfully defended, it appears he is ready to fight Lilynette Gingerbuck and Coyote Starrk alongside Kyōraku. He appears surprised by Starrk's request to "pretend to fight" and admits he though Shunsui was going to comply due to his amusement and usual laid-back attitude. Ukitake then takes to meditating atop one of the buildings of the town, where he is questioned by Lilynette on why he isn't fighting as well. Ukitake tells her two on one wouldn't be fair, Lilynette tells him that it doesn't matter and Starrk is strong and Kyōraku is as good as dead. Ukitake, with a smile, assures her that Kyōraku is strong too and that her concern is appreciated, and he'll pray that his friend wins. Ukitake then tells her as she is just a child, she has no place in the battle, which enrages Lilynette to the point where she screams at him and says Arrancar don't have ages. Ukitake explains that he can't fight since she looks like a little kid to him. He further tells her if she tries to fight him, he will force her to leave, and that she should "go home and play with a ball or something."
Lilynette feels Ukitake is patronizing her and proceeds to draw her Zanpakutō. She then tells him she will fight him. Ukitake appears somewhat annoyed at this. Ukitake blocks Lilynette's attacks with his Zanpakutō while looking fairly unamused at her futile attempts. She then blasts him with a Cero, which he just blocks with his forearm. He then comments on how he has seen many Cero blasts in his time, and her's is immature at best and not even on par with a Menos. He then tells her to go home, as he doesn't wish to fight her any longer.
They continue fighting until Ukitake manages to steal her Zanpakutō. He continually avoids her attempts to recover it, all the while chiding her for not putting her heart into her attacks. When Starrk finally calls back Lilynette, so as to release his true form, Kyōraku, sensing that the true battle is about to begin, throws his kimono to Ukitake and informing him that they were now "fighting for keeps". Ukitake then watches in shock as the Primera releases his true power and Kyōraku releases his own Zanpakutō.
After watching the battle unfold between Shunsui and Starrk, Ukitake releases his Shikai and jumps in front of Shunsui. He uses a huge energy blast to negate Starrk's Cero Metralleta. Starrk side steps the blast and wonders if it was a Cero. Shunsui begins to speak, but Ukitake cuts him off explaining that he shouldn't complain because the Arrancar are double teaming him and his coming to his aid is only fair. Ukitake then comments that besides that Shunsui doesn't seem to want to use his Bankai. Shunsui assures him that he will eventually. Ukitake, however, retorts that it would be best to not reveal his Bankai in front of everyone.
Ukitake continues by saying that in any case his powers are better suited for this sort of fight. Starrk interrupts by asking Ukitake how he fired a Cero. Ukitake plainly says "who knows, maybe he'll figure it out if he does it again." Determined to figure out Ukitake's power Starrk fires again much to Lilynette's loud protest that it's most likely a trap. No sooner does he fire a large Cero, that moments later, it comes right back at him, to which Starrk dodges. He fires again and notices the same result. He uses Sonído to get closer to Ukitake and then explains what he has learned of his ability. Ukitake is surprised that he figured it out after only three attacks. Starrk then expresses that he is glad that Ukitake's power isn't to reflect any and all attacks back at his opponent. Starrk surmises that if Ukitake has to absorb the attack first, there has to be a limit to what can be absorbed. He then tells Ukitake that he doesn't think he'll be able to absorb the attack if he fires 1,000 shots at once.
Before Starrk can fire, Shunsui appears behind him and tries to cut off his head, but Starrk dodges and fires a large Cero which Shunsui also dodges. Then seemingly out of nowhere a Garganta begins to open, surprising the three combatants. Ukitake asks Shunsui if it's someone new. Shunsui responds by asking if Ukitake thinks it's someone who could back up the top three Espada, as he hopes it isn't. When the Garganta is fully open, Wonderweiss Margela walks through. Ukitake and Shunsui both question who he is while Starrk, just as surprised to see him being accompanied by a huge hollow, simply says his name. While Ukitake's attention is on Hooleer, Wonderweiss attacks him from behind, impaling him in the back and out through his chest with his hand. Seeing this, Shunsui goes to attack the Arrancar, but is quickly shot at point blank range in the back by a Cero from Starrk. They are both seen falling out of the sky to the city below.
Juushirou awoke three days after Aizen's death. He was informed of what happened by Captain Unohana. For another day, he was in bed. On the fifth day post-Aizen, Juushirou was summoned to the second Captains meeting since. Head-Captain Genryuusai Yamamoto declared a need for replacement Captains to fill in the roles left vacant by the three traitors. Someone suggested the Vizards, but Yamamoto disagreed. He felt that there should be someone promoted from within first. Juushirou thought for a moment and immediately nominated someone. The name was one that was quickly gaining notoriety within the Gotei—Tsubine Koezuka.
Juushirou was not at all disappointed in his suggestion for Captain, and he helped his former subordinate however he could. A few years later, Ender invaded the Soul Society. The fight was worse than the one with Aizen. Before the retreat could be completed, both Yamamoto and Komamura had perished in battle. Sajin Komamura helped cover the retreat but was unable to return. Juushirou, along with the rest of the Gotei, fought back with the assistance of the Yuudeshi family and the Iramasha. With that combined might, the Gotei was reunited under a single flag.
There were many changes after the war with Ender. The Seireitei was mostly rebuilt from the ground up. Juushirou didn't have much of a personal hand in it, but he did help with the logistics. He was an invaluable help to the 4th Division. A lot of what Juushirou did was deciding which areas needed to be rebuilt first by reading reports and surveys of the damage. His insight was monumental in why the rebuilding was done so quickly. Around 2200, Juushirou approached the Captain-Commander at the time. He had decided that his illness (whose origins were secret from even the highest authority in the Gotei 13) had reduced his fighting strength to dangerously low levels. In order to keep himself able to defend the Gotei, Juushirou tossed out the idea of him becoming Headmaster of Shin'ou Academy. It was immediately accepted, and Juushirou has been there ever since.
I. Host's Racial Abilities
Swordsman: While hating the concept of having to engage in a fight, Ukitake is presumably one of the most proficient swordsmen in all of Soul Society, as he is able to hold his own against Yamamoto. The unique shape of his sword's Shikai and its corresponding abilities make his form of fighting unconventional among Shinigami, but show his skill in this art.
Kidō: Ukitake has above-average knowledge of Kidō, which allows him to assists in the resealing of the Jōkaishō. He also aids in the opening of the Senkaimon. He is able to perform fairly high-level spells without incantation, and he can easily use Kidō in battle, such as when he used Seki against Lilynette Gingerbuck.
Shunpo: As a captain, Ukitake is exceptional in the art of Shunpo. He is able to gain sufficient ground while trying to put distance between himself and Captain-Commander Yamamoto during their chase through Soul Society.
Medical Knowledge: Due to years of undergoing many different medical treatments because of his health issues, Ukitake has accumulated much knowledge of medicines and healing techniques. Using this knowledge, he has directed the treatment of many important members of the Gotei 13 when the 4th Division was unable to assist or were overwhelmed.
I. Zanpakutô
» Zanpakutô Name: Sōgyo no Kotowari (双魚理, Truth of Pisces)
» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: Sōgyo no Kotowari's manifested spirit takes the form of two young boys with light green eyes and silver hair, which is pulled back into ponytails and hangs down in large bangs in front of their faces. They wear large, triangular blue hats with small red fans on either side, light blue robes over kimonos with vertical red and yellow stripes near their waists, light beige hakama, and blue shoes.
» Inner World: [What is your Zanpukto's inner world like?]
» Zanpakutô Appearance: [What does your Shinigami's Zanpakutô look like? A picture or written bio will do. You can also do both if you wish]
» Sealed Zanpakutô Power: [Over the years, Shinigami have evolved to the point where they now have special powers even when sealed. As such, does your character have special ability or power when not released? Try not to go overboard. If you do not have one, just erase this section]
I. Shikai
» Shikai Release Phrase: "All Waves, Rise now and Become my Shield, Lightning, Strike now and Become my Blade" (波悉く我が盾となれ雷悉く我が刃となれ, nami kotogotoku waga tate to nare, ikazuchi kotogotoku waga yaiba to nare)
» Shikai Appearance: Once he completes the incantation, he grasps the single blade with two hands. The blade then transforms slowly, and begins to form two blades. As the blades peel apart, a large red rope-like chain at the base of the hilt lengthens, and silver metal square charms attached to the chain begin to fall, until all five present themselves. The blade is now somewhat thinner than the sealed Zanpakutō, and the tsuba now extends a little bit up the blade. About halfway along the length of the Zanpakutō, a second blade juts out from the inside of the main blade and extends back towards the hilt, running parallel to the main blade. The cutting edge of the second blade faces inward instead of outward.
» Shikai Abilities:
Sōgyo no Kotowari's sole, primary ability is the power to absorb energy-based attacks, refine them, and reverse them upon the original caster. This is achieved through several simple steps. Ukitake will use his left sword to draw in the energy, which is channeled through the blade and into the red rope, passing through each metal charm. Each one helps to strengthen the technique while also causing them to become more swift. Then, Ukitake redirects the technique from his right sword in any direction he chooses, including towards the person who originally launched the attack. This process happens so quickly that it appears as if the attack was produced by Sōgyo no Kotowari. The opponent will find the reversed technique to be more potent and more swift than what they released, and so will encounter trouble while attempting to dodge it. It is presumed that if the rope is severed, then Ukitake loses his only Shikai ability, but can most likely withstand one or two charms being forcefully detached, as they only serve to enhance the technique Sōgyo no Kotowari draws in, and if they were to disappear, then he could still assimilate techniques without augmenting their power or speed.
Energy-based attack is broad term per se. Hollow Techniques, namely Cero and Bala, are absorbed and rerouted readily. Also, most Kidō, and attacks generated by Kidō-type Zanpakuo are liable to be used against the attacker. This also extends to elemental Kidō and Zanpakutō, but only ones that 'flow', such as Sōkatsui or Hitsugaya's . This means that while elemental attacks such as lightning, fire, water, light, and shadows can be subjugated, elements such earth, metal, and wind-type Zanpakutō cannot be countered by Sōgyo no Kotowari's special ability. To be specific about the speed at which Sōgyo no Kotowari launchs a counter, Ukitake's Zanpakutō can absorb attacks and fire those same ones in the course of a single post easily, and techniques that are absorbed become 30% stronger and faster than what they were prior to being affected by Sōgyo no Kotowari. Each lost charm reduces that increase by 6%.
I. Bankai
» Bankai Name: Sōgyo no Kotowari Handan Kyokaikyū (双魚理 判断巨蟹宮, Truth of Pisces, Judgement of Cancer)
» Bankai Appearance: To release his Bankai, Juushirou grabs Sōgyo no Kotowari's second blades which jut out from the main blade. He has to grip the blades hard enough to draw blood. When he calls out his Bankai's name, the swords grow and flatten. Upon finishing the transformation, Juushirou is left holding a pair of tall shields. The shields are narrow, and feel like a seashell texture-wise. Beneath the shields are a pair of large pipes that d o the same job of Sōgyo no Kotowari's Shikai. Juushirou himself changes slightly. The chain of talismans from his Shikai now becomes a pair of them wrapped around his neck and chest. An interesting part of his Bankai is that there are a pair of crabs which live within the shields. Even Juushirou cannot explain their existence or what they do besides snap at him (and his opponents).
» Bankai Abilities: Sōgyo no Kotowari Handan Kyokaikyū's ability is an evolution of Sōgyo no Kotowari's. If any of the attacks that can be absorbed by Sōgyo no Kotowari hit one of the shields, Juushirou can channel that energy into the shield itself or into the cannons beneath the shields. If one of those attacks hits Juushirou's chest, he can absorb the energy himself, empowering his next Kidou. Juushirou can store energy within each shield and the talismans for two posts before having to use it. He has ten of the charms from his Shikai now, meaning his Kidou's power can be increased by 60%. As for the cannons on his shields, there are 5 similar charms attached to the bottom of the cannon. Each of those increase the energy by 8%, meaning he has an up to 40% bonus damage and speed boost to redirecting an attack.
- Backblast: An alternative to using the talismans to empower his Kidou, Backblast fires the excess energy behind him. This ends up pushing him forward, with the speed increasing by how much energy he expells.
- Energy Shield: If Juushirou has energy stored in both shields, he can extend their blocking surface. The extra distance is only lateral, meaning it is like he had an additional shield on either side of his existing shields (effectively tripling their width). Each one can last up to 5 posts, but the energy shields will shatter upon taking any attack. They cannot absorb energy like the physical shields either.
I. The Spirit's Basic Information
» The Spirit's Name: Mimihagi
» The Spirit's Race: Corrupted Plus
» The Spirit's Gender: N/A (refers to itself with masculine pronouns)
» The Spirit's Age: Approximately 8,000
» The Spirit's Written Appearance: Mimihagi takes the form of a blackened body. The exact shape and contours of its body mimics that of its host. Right now, it lookes like Juushirou if he were made of shadows. As Mimihagi takes parts of his host's body, that part within Mimihagi turns the colors of a healthy version of that part. So, within Mimihagi, there are a pair of healthy-looking lungs. Mimihagi will eventually look like a completely healthy version of Juushirou if it takes every part of its host's body.
I. The Spirit's Personality
» The Spirit's Personality: Mimihagi has a very limited intelligence. It is more along the lines of a beast than anything substantial. It eats ambient reishi, sleeps, and assists its host in survival if need be. It doesn't like Sougyo no Kotowari (and they don't like it) as they tried to treat it like Juushirou instead of an animal. Mimihagi will do what it takes to keep its host alive, even if it does not actively know it is doing it. The process to replace a bodypart is an instinct and not something that requires Mimihagi's conscious efforts.
The reason why Mimihagi is limited in its personality is because it lacks a complete brain. When it takes its host's brain, it does have an individual personality. Mimihagi gets hungry and lazy when it gets a brain. It no longer wants to have reishi. It wants actual food. It is actually very carnivorous and feasts on spirits like a Hollow. It does not grow in strength with its feasting. It only means to sate Mimihagi's hunger.
I. The Spirit's History
» The Spirit's History: There isn't much of a history of Mimihagi. Or at least, there's nothing entirely notable. Mimihagi has existed for a long time. It has existed for a long time, but it hasn't been active. Mimihagi was a spirit that simply feeds off of other spiritual beings. Mimihagi was sealed within a shrine in District 78 of Eastern Rukongai after priests found the creature. When Juushirou required a lung, the priests reluctantly unsealed the beast and let it flow into him.
I. The Spirit's Powers
» Ziamichi Spirit Powers:
- Body Part Replacement: Mimihagi can replace any part of its host's body. The part in question must be either missing, decomposed, or dying. Each portion of the host it takes lessens the control the host has on Mimihagi. It will also not be a perfect replacement. In its current host, it took on Jūshirō's lungs. These still do not work well with the rest of his body, weakening him signficantly. The replacement takes three days and requires a special ritual only Jūshirō, Mimihagi, Retsu Unohana, Shunsui Kyoraku, and a handful of priests in District 78 of East Rukongai know how to perform. It does not happen immediately. If other types of healing are performed before the ritual is complete, the replacement will not go through.
- Kamikake (神掛, Suspended God): Kamikake is an emergency situation where the host's body has died or is in the process of dying totally. If the replacement would take too long, Mimihagi will perform the Kamikake. Kamikake temporarily puts Mimihagi in complete control of the host's body. This does not heal any wounds, but it will stop their effects from causing further harm for four posts while Mimihagi evacuates its host's body.
I. Ziamichi Powers
» Unique Traits: N/A
» Forms: N/A
» Drawbacks: See "Body Part Replacement"
» Control: 5 (Mimihagi is more like a parasite. It requires its host, and Jūshirō requires it. Therefore they have a "survive" mentality that keeps Mimihagi from interfering most of the time)

I. Roleplay Sample
» Role Play Sample: Jūshirō was glad to see an entirely full classroom for once. He worried that his special lecture might have too few in attendance. Now, he worried that he might have to bring in extra chairs. He mentally noted where he could put those chairs. He smiled and let the students before him chatter before the day began. Jūshirō's smile was light and friendly. It was just what a student would want to see on their first day of starting the rest of their lives. At least he hoped it would be. Unless it wasn't "for" them... Ah there were too many negative branches to go down that path.
As the bell rang thrice outside, the class quited down mostly. A few echoes of chatter remained, but that was to be expected. Jūshirō didn't drop any bit of the elation he felt as he scanned the room. No late arrivals either. "Wow, I'm impressed." Jūshirō stood behind the podium, barely leaning on it for support. "I can't remember the last time I had a full classroom. I hope you're all comfortable and are not squished for room. I know how uncomfortable being cramped for room can be." He tried his best to relate to them, but he didn't want to patronize them.
Jūshirō could hear the room quieten. "I am Jūshirō Ukitake, the headmaster of Shino Academy. I once learned from here just like you... Although, my teacher was a bit scarier I suppose." Jūshirō chuckled. Genryuusai had been gone for so long, but his time learning from him was even longer ago. ...How long ago was that, actually? He tried to count back the years. A student's cough brought him out of his math-induced stupor. "Ah, sorry, sorry. Ahem. As I was saying," Jūshirō continued without much further hesitation, "I welcome you, 2,490th class of the Shino Academy."
"You, in particular, are a special lot. This isn't to detract from your fellow students. You are all enrolled in our Special Accelerated Class. In fact, there are so many of you this year that we are having to form a second class for the first time." Jūshirō remembered the times when there wasn't a Special Accelerated Class. Those were the times. Unlike Shunsui, he wasn't going to go on about the "good old days." The days of Genryuusai yelling at them was long gone. Jūshirō was going to try to avoid those days. Gentle, but somewhat strict teaching is what he encouraged as headmaster.
Jūshirō's welcoming speech was about ten minutes long. He coughed twice during so, bringing up worried whispers from his students. He kept up his facade of being well. After the second coughing fit, he assured them that there was no need to worry. The majority of the class listened to his speech without much murmuring afterwards. This would be a good bunch, he surmised. Not that the other classes were necessarily bad (except for 2388), but he liked the attentiveness they had. "And in conclusion, I just want to once again welcome you. I see a lot of potential in this room, and I hope you all can live up to it."
Jūshirō nodded to himself and the crowd. "With that over with... Are there any questions?" A dozen or so students raised their hands. The same surprise as earlier rose on his face. This was followed by a slightly wider smile. "You sure are an energetic bunch." Jūshirō scanned the group once more, eventually setting his eyes on a young, green-eyed woman. He pointed to her. "Ah, yes, you." She stammered, and Jūshirō briefly closed his eyes to give her a reassuring smile—the best he could muster. "Now, there's no need to be shy. I won't judge you or get upset by the question you ask."
"Ah, o-okay... I-is it true th-that you were a Captain in the Gotei Thirteen...?" Jūshirō nodded. "A fine question. Yes, I indeed was a Captain of the Gotei Thirteen. In fact, I was the Captain of the Thirteenth Division. It may not seem that grand, but the Thirteenth Division had a lot of important duties. We were especially close to the Academy and did our best to support it." "And... is that why you quit being a Captain? Because of how close the Thirteenth was with the Academy?"
Jūshirō raised a hand to his chin, scratching it. It might look more wise if he had a beard. Maybe not one like Genryuusai's. Maybe a mustache like Ginrei Kuchiki's...? No, he was fine without facial hair. That would be Shunsui's gimmick. "Well, in all honesty, no, it wasn't. My conditioned worsened over time. Eventually, I realized I'd just be a hindrance on the frontlines. It would be better if someone else took over, but I didn't want to leave the people I care about. I spoke with the Head-Captain at the time. I suggested why not become the headmaster here. I can help out teaching the next generation like I used to while still being around my friends and comrades. I can also help out if need be, but there isn't much of a reason for me to. We have so many great students that I feel rather safe!" Jūshirō laughed lightly.
"...and truthfully, I just saw so many new up-and-coming Shinigami that I wanted to see how they would handle situations." Pride began to well in Jūshirō's voice. "I have to say that I can't say I am disappointed in my choice. I think it was the right one. I really enjoy being able to teach you all, even if it is only for an occasional lecture."
