Boredom was a cataclysmic yet almost foreign feeling.
At least, for Katja anyway.
Silence gnawed at her brain, begging for some form of...amusement. Something to distract from the depths of her thoughts. Of course, one had to wonder why Katja was, at this time, wondering aimlessly about Manas palace. On one hand, she was simply... satisfying her curiosity, on the other, she really had no clue. Listening to the deafening echoes of her heels upon the tile beneath her, she couldn't help but count the steps as she took them. The sound rebounded off the walls and traveled all the way up to the ceiling. This place truly was something to behold. Her home was nothing compared to the lavish decor within this place.
Maybe she'd have to get a castle too...
Katja, after all, was striving for nothing less than royalty. Bringing her arms to her chest to rest them, one over the other, one hand made its way from her chest to her collar bones, up the slender side of her neck, only to rest upon her chin thoughtfully. Was working alongside Mana even such a good idea? Of course, she had heard the tales and knew that with her help, power was attainable but what was her..goal? The end game? What was the point of eagerly accepting anybody who just walked in the door...Of course, if someone had wondered into Katjas home pledging their unwavering loyalty in exchange for power, she would've had to agree. That was one of the easiest ways to build an army after all...and there was strength in numbers. She could only imagine how many people had come here seeking similar goals...power...and someone like Mana having an army? She would be unstoppable... The sheer force of power would be felt all the way from the humans' world down to the very pits of hell.
But at the end of the day, who knew...someone like Mana had time to burn. Maybe it was all a game. Simple amusement. Something to help pass the time. But yet again who knew? The possibilities were infinite...almost as infinite as the number of hallways and corridors this palace hid behind its beautiful exterior. As Katja continued to allow her thoughts to wonder and ponder every possibility, she soon found herself at a "fork in the road" so to speak. She could no longer walk forward but instead, would have to choose left or right. She bit at her nail and frowned. What an inconvenience. But of course...everything was an inconvenience to this woman.
Looking both ways, she simply sighed and turned to the right, continuing her walk. She stretched her arms to the sky for a moment, watching the way her slender limbs moved and listening attentively as they creaked. She needed work. Shaking her head, she reached to grab ahold of one of her long twin tails, stroking the bundle of hair gently as her heels continued to echo about the halls.
A small smile found its way to her face as she recounted her recent meeting. Mana was nothing short of glorious. All the stories had been at least slightly true...the woman so casually dubbed Queen was so becoming of the title...Graceful, classy, humorous while also carrying the air of...supperiority about her. To the point when she needed to be...demanding and intelligent...wise. Definitely someone worthy of Katjas time and admiration. She only hoped she had left a similar impression. But who was she kidding? Of course she did! Her behavior had been flawless. As she turned another corner, her eyes searched the hall before her for a moment before resting upon a figure... Walking the opposite direction from her. The figures footsteps were light, silent, falling flat upon her ears. Tilting her head, she bit her lip and then a thought struck her brain.
What better way to learn about her new friend, than to meet and speak with one of her... "loyal subjects". Katja grinned madly, her teeth poking out over the plump of her lips as she then slightly quickened her pace, stopping just before the white haired individual. She tilted her head and felt her smile soon be replaced with a rather unamused expression. "I didn't think there would be anybody else roaming these halls...Are you a straggler? Did you get lost?" Her Russian accent coated her words, her voice a silky deep tone. Katja always loved the sound of her own voice...so refined.
The figure before her was (unsurprisingly) taller than herself, with short, dark hair. She looked fragile...small..but...something about her.. She was undoubtedly another one of Manas "children". Another person here to learn and hone their talents and skills. If that assumption was correct though, this could be her ticket to learning about the Queen herself. Maybe this person was extremely close to Mana.... Only one way to find out, though.
"Well, speak up child. Who are you?" Her tone was curt, to the point. Not forceful or bossy though...not yet, anyway.

"Aren't we all a little MAD?"
Artist: Demon Hunter | Song: Collapsing | Word Count: 720
Arianda yawned softly as she was taking a casual stroll around Mana's palace; taking a small break from caring for her lovely Queen. Well, more like spending time with and making sure she didn't indulge too much chaos. Arianda yawned as her boots made rather soft sounds on the floor as she walked slowly through the halls; not really trying to be silent or sneaky in any way. Of course, she did notice entities around her. Making it a little easy for her to tell what is around her, what may be approaching her, and keep tabs on her general surroundings.
Arianda listened as her scissors made noises of metal hitting together lightly; possibly sounding a little haunting as the little demon wandered through the halls she was rather familiar with by now. Arianda grinned as she could not help but think of her Queen; causing her legs to press together a little as she suppressed feelings of arousal that randomly spiked to the surface with thoughts of Mana filling her mind. However, she soon pushed them back so focus could be had as Arianda continued to walk through the halls. At least until she sensed another demon walking through the palace.
The second Arianda sensed the different energy that was wandering through the palace, Arianda tilted her head to the side and slowly, very slowly, a manic grin spread across her lips; a grin that nearly split her face in two with how large the grin soon became. She quickly suppressed the grin as she started to walk towards the strange energy source. Arianda soon found herself about to meet the person that had this energy trace. So, Arianda simply crossed her arms, accenting her breasts a little, as she waited for the being to come close.
After only a small amount of time, a girl, rather short and petite, came walking towards Arianda. Arianda noticed the grin she had on her face before she noticed Arianda; a very nice grin that Arianda would have liked to peer at longer if she didn't loose the grin as soon as she saw Arianda. Arianda frowned a bit at that; disappointed that the grin had faded. She was also a little bummed that the girl had a look that spoke being unamused. Arianda simply sighed and then tilted her head to the side at her question."If you asked me that some time ago, you wouldn't be wrong. But, today and from the day I met Mana forth, I am not a "straggler" nor am I lost. I've been living in this palace enough that I know most of it well enough... oh, and I'm a Child of Eris, by the way. Just so you know."
Arianda grinned widely after she spoke, not expecting anything that would cause the girl in front of her to be elated or some weird shit. Arianda simply just continued to grin at her as her Seal of Eris, which was positioned so it stretched onto her chest and her stomach, glowed only for a moment the second that it was mentioned she was a child of Eris. Of course, the voices in her head, Amphilogiai's voice(s), didn't shut up one bit; trying to get Arianda to simply devour her being and be done with it. Arianda simply slapped them aside before her grin faded at her statement. She looked at the girl in front of her and spoke to her as her right eye shifted from it's silver color to green for an instant; the eye returning to its normal silver color nearly immediately."Don't call me child... aaand, I am Arianda Vael. As I said, I'm a child of Eris and Mana... well, she is many things to me. Now then, why are you here and who are you?"
Arianda continued to look at the girl in front of her, not a single hand moving as she watched Katja closely with all of the eyes that were on the front side of her body. She only continued to watch and wait; wait for Katja to speak and take actions. Arianda did notice though; this girl was cute enough that she didn't mind waiting. For now.

Meh. Her immediate first impressions were tainted as soon as the girl spoke. The calm, almost beautiful demeanor this girl had was quickly replaced with only what Katja could assume was some sort of power trip...or simply...maybe this person really was just rather unstable...who knew. She didn't really care either way though. This was her chance at learning what she needed...nothing more. She may have been a bit harsh but it was just how her mind operated. As Arianda explained herself, the Russian woman tilted her head a bit, resting her hand under her chin in an attempt to better focus on what this...child was telling to her. 'Child of Eris, huh...So that's what it is...it really is a power exchange...but why' Katja shook her head slightly, her crystal blue eyes looking over the girl before her before she felt a slight ego trip coming on.
Her face was always so pristine, she prided herself on her doll like features and wrinkle-less skin. In her mind, she felt a thousand different thoughts flutter through. Each one a critical judgement of herself or the person before her. Katja felt something in her shift. Her lips parted slowly, revealing the pearly whites behind them as a small, low chuckle slipped out of her lips. Her voice was surprisingly deep for a girl of her size, the thick of her Russian accent slurring her words together yet making each syllable sharp, purposeful. Her voice carried authority. Her tone, carried her power, her status. She would be damned if her speech didn't do the same.
"My dear child.." As she cleared her throat a bit, she could feel the corners of her mouth pulling up a little bit, offering the girl a full, soft, sweet smile. She couldn't help the giggle that spilled from her body, shaking her ribs a bit as she then curtsied almost playfully. "My name is Kurae Ekaterina, but please, call me Katja..." She could only hope maybe her reputation had "spread" about the palace...Maybe Mana had spoke of her...Maybe her name was just...common..but being in her line of work, it also wasn't unlikely that nobody really knew who she was. Being an artist was...somewhat of a lonely existence. Being locked up in her house for the majority of the year, cranking out puppets was tough work. Not that she complained though, if her work could help bring power to those who had the coin (or whatever Katja wanted), who was she to stand in the way of potential greatness?
"You say you are a Child of Mana, the Queen herself... o moy. You must be important!!" Katja said, lacing her fingers together, a hopeful expression painted upon her features. "I am...somewhat of a new ally to Mana...Someone she's just...taking under her wing, yea? Maybe we could...talk...get to know one another?" Katjas tone was sickeningly sweet. Her words practically oozed out of her mouth, laced with sugar and false intentions. Her tone was higher, voice clear. Still a bit...raspy but not nearly as low at it was mere moment ago.
It was an act.
All of it. Every word. Every polite gesture. Her behavior was naturally hard to see through, being who she was after all. A master manipulator. Katja was a master at all of her crafts. Deception, dancing, living the high life. She was masterful in every area she felt mattered...maybe not the "nicest" of behavior but Katja didn't want to be nice. She wanted power and right know, knowledge was power. This girl, if she was anywhere close to Mana, knew anything, she was of value to Katja. So, her full attention was here, directed at Arianda.
