Background: Once, Avalon was the sheath of Excalibur, the sword of promised Victory. It was lost when Excalibur was driven into stone and sealed away. Who exactly made it is unknown, but since the smith who made the sword died upon creating his finest work, some assume this sheath is actually the smith himself, while the spirit Arthur inside of the sword itself is the first wielder of it.
After it was lost, Avalon was found by Shiori, a Sugiura and the user of the legendary dagger Fragarch. When she accidentally caused the death of many, and found only one surviving kid that seemed like a miracle, she broke down Avalon into raw energy and fused it with Emiya Shirou, saving his life and granting him the dormant ability of the greatest defense besides Fragarch itself.

Appearance: Unlike Excalibur, which is made to look and be very practical instead of glorious, Avalon is said to show the true glory of the destined ruler. Looking like gold encrusted with royal blue and gemstones, the value of this artifact in money alone is unimagineable high.

Abilities: Avalon is made to protect the wielder of Excalibur, thus it's effects are weakened the farther it is away from the sword itself. However, if 'activated' with raw Reishi and Reiatsu, it can absorb those to restore the body of the one holding it or having it sealed inside, only missing limbs can't be replaced. Even deep cuts can be healed, by seemingly transforming the user into a sword and reforging him back together, before restoring him/her to normal.

The true ability of Avalon is not healing, though. When held by the wielder of Excalibur or someone close to him/her, it can project a divine mystery surpassing all existing magic of the races, bending reality, and transporting the body of the user into the Utopia that is Avalon for a brief moment, completely nullifying an attack by absorbing the energy of it. Should the holder have Excalibur, it will instantly go into Kyuu Kyou state and super-charge.
In this state, after returning from the brief moment of being in Avalon, the wielder dashes forward, and while shouting out the name of the holy sword, slashes downward - instead of a blade that cuts everything, it now is the light that cuts everything, destroying body and soul should it connect with a large, sharp beam of golden and white energy.
