Time. Always moving forward, always advancing on. A momentum that could not be stopped, all resistance futile. No matter what anyone did, eventually point A would become point B. Point B would become point C. And yet, for all that inevitable motion, one could still find themselves standing still. As the world advances around them, they themselves would stagnate. Eventually, all such beings would adapt or be swallowed up by the unrelenting tides, and spat out as flotsam. Time always won. The best one could hope for is a draw, immortality itself was not a victory against time. It was just a draw, a ceasefire. For one girl in particular, this battle seemed all too real. For all the effort she had put in, she had gotten nowhere. To continuously try to gain something so simple, and continuously failing, she was beginning to feel the sting of defeat. Her will and determination, with all their strength, had begun to falter. Twenty years of no progress would do that. She wasn't at some pinnacle of strength, mental, or spiritual aptitude. She should not have plateau'd already. Was she truly damned with an arrested development? Was this truly her peak? For the Angel of Electricity, this fear was becoming very real.

Sumika wasn't giving up. There was one thing that had rekindled some of the fire within her, the little demon girl she had effectively become the mother of. It was strange, an Angel Iramasha whose energy by design abolished such beings was now the caretaker of one. Even more so that one who had spent much of her life fearing demons should be mothering one. The Iramasha had some strength, to be able to get past a deep seated fear dating back to when she was nearly killed as a child. But for all that strength, what she lacked was progress. She felt like it was something wrong with her. In truth, it wasn't her. She wasn't a natural born Iramasha, only changed into one. What she lacked was the instinct to know what to do, or a teacher to help her figure it out. She was left with the swirling power within her anatomy being foreign, difficult to just "figure out". It'd be like a human suddenly growing 9 new pairs of arms and 3 new pairs of legs and trying to figure out how to independently move them. If the instinct didn't come with the package, it was a monumental task.

The thick clouds overhead only serving to represent the state of her mind, Sumika pressed onward back to Karakura Central. The demon girl she was watching over actually stayed in the forest. She was kinda animalistic in nature, and Sumika still had to figure out how to get her in the system for Karakura Central so she could actually come in. It'd probably turn into yet another day of no progress, again. Over the years she HAD figured out she can generate electricity and fire it off, even control it more finely. But that was old news. It hasn't gotten stronger or fancier since she initially learned to do it. She stopped and took a seat, she was still on the edge of the outer town. She knew it wasn't safe out here, but she had survived plenty. She was at least strong enough to safely defeat the average mooks without problems. She looked up to the sky as she sat, the little redhead only being broken from her trance by the howl of a hollow. Though they do tend to be in lower quantity here than further out, they still showed up. "Ah...." She sighed in displeasure, she just wanted one break.

Raising up a hand, she swirled it around a bit, electricity forming and leaving a trail, before the hollow appeared, lion-like, and charged at her from the left. She turned and lobbed the electricity, it taking an unnatural but mostly intended trajectory. While it struck the hollow, stunning it, half of it missed and ended up smacking the side of a building, causing some minor damage. Had she known how to properly imbue the holy attributes of her class into it, the hollow probably would have been dead, but of course her kills were gonna be sloppy in this state. She hadn't even prepared to kill the first when from behind, another could be heard. This...was not a good spot to be in. She'd probably be fine, but she knew the chance of it going poorly were pretty decent.

THE FRIGID HEROINE'S POST

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

Training in solitude wasn't something that the monks of old did. It was still being applied to this day by even the celestial's of heaven. In fact, this is precisely the state of being that The Angel of The Ice known as Cirno Iramasha found herself in. For the past week or so, the woman had been staying within the forest of Karakura Central undisturbed in a state of internal meditation. What was her purpose? To disconnect, heal and mend the scars of her mind to revert away from her Fallen Angel State of being and back towards her holy ether.

By the time her eyes had opened, a whole city block of slain hollows, demons and poochers who tried to assault the maiden in her slumber scattered out across the woman. With a brief mutter of a prayer, she hoped that her ether allowed for these spirits to be reborn, the toxins of their souls to be released and for them to find peace in their new life. For now, she needed to awaken, find civilization and recoup herself back to proper form. It is why she ventured through the overcast skies above, journeyed out of the lush green confines of the forestland and began to find the metallic skylines of Karakura Central. The feeling of life, prosperity, and hope ushered into her beings as she could feel that there was something she needed to do here now that she was returning back to form.

And that sixth sense type of feeling wasn't far from the mark.

What greeted Cirno's return was the release of a horde of hollows which were beginning to invade this portion of the outskirts of Karakura Central. For her, however, it was already a chance to do some good in the world. Without missing a heartbeat, The Celestial forged dozens of lightning shaped burst of holy aether in order to rip apart all of the hollows which were beginning to descend upon the area. Flash after flash of white light filled the area until the aqua aura of The Angel's energy overflowed on the scene.

Taking a curious glance back to Sumika, the oceanic eyes of Cirno were rather interested to see another Angel Iramasha this far out of their territory. So, she'd give a wave, walk over and investigate things for herself.

"Don't worry about those guys. My energy should be enough to cleanse their spirits and grant them a life."

Once she was within five feet of the fellow Iramasha, Cirno stopped moving so that she could inspect her further. Something was off about her energy, but The Celestial of The Ice wasn't quite certain of what. So, that just meant it was time for more questions!

"More importantly, what brings an Iramasha like yourself out here? Is something wrong?"

Most people don't end up in this part of Karakura unless something is up based on this Angel's experience with Karakura Central. So she wanted to hear what story Sumika had for her to get to the bottom of this whole ordeal.

Sumika blinked for a moment. She was sure this was going to be a fight, but within an instant, the hollow were gone. With what seemed like just a flash, they all vanished. Even more than that though, they were purified. In that same instant, she felt an energy, both familiar in a strange way and very foreign. "I swear..." She said in a low voice to herself as she dusted herself off. "Saved again." She was happy to not be dead, unhappy to once again be rescued. She could never stand on her own two feet could she? She looked up to find the woman who had come to her apparent rescue. The girl approached, the redhead blinked a few time, mouth slightly open, eyes slanted. That's when the woman spoke, talking about having "cleansed their spirits". Sumika understood, vaguely, what she meant. She closed her eyes and let a puff of air out of her mouth before fully turning her body to face the girl in question. Her face softened. There was distress, but a spark still within regardless. "I...thank you." Was all she could really come up with as a response. Something about about this girl did seem...oddly familiar to herself.

She sighed as her face softened further into a smile. "An...Iramasha like myself? So you know then?" The girl figured her out somewhat. She glanced off to the side. The girl before her...was an Angel Iramasha right? Sumika could only assume the vague sense of familiarity came from that. She had no way to feel other people's Aether, she didn't know how. It seemed like basic instincts she was supposed to have as an Angel failed to show when she was changed. She looked back to the girl. "A problem? That...is a bit of a trick question, I guess." She scratched the back of her head, if this was another Angel Iramasha...what would she think of Sumika literally acting as a mother to a full blooded demon? She didn't know how they usually looked at things like that. "Nothing too serious, besides me getting jumped by a bunch of hollow. It's kinda personal." She had to know this girl's angle before she told her where a demon was. Angel's were supposed to be kind, but when you are acting as a mother you have to be careful.

"Sorry, you just kinda caught me off guard. Hold on." She took a deep breath and snapped back to attention with a smile, bringing her emotional and mental energy back to the forefront. "I actually live near here, in the dome. I just have some personal business that brings me here. I'm Sumika Saika. What's your name?"

THE FRIGID HEROINE'S POST

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

Being powerless was never fun. Granted, Cirno has always had a fair amount of strength for most of her known life, but she does recall circumstances where even her grand abilities were unable to have the effect she intended and it hurt. Which is the reason why when she noticed the subtle uneasiness of Sumika's energy, something within the celestial snapped in a positive way. As, from the way Sumika reacted to Cirno's arrival, it was clear that the fellow angel wanted to be some kind of hero and actually manage to fend for herself in this dog eat dog world.

So, to that longing sentiment of yearning for more power to do good being understood quite well in the mind of this Celestial, The Angel of The Ice could only give an affirming nod towards her resentment of the sitaution she was in.

"Really, there is no need to thank you. I'm fairly certain you'd do the same for me if the circumstances were reversed. It's what most proper angel's do."

Easing in her tense nature, the voice of The Celestial rang with drops of soothing tones as her energy levels started to lower and drop off. There was no need for any further aggressive acts, so she was centering herself mentally as her right index finger rose to point towards the red-haired woman.

"I can tell you are an Iramasha because we all emit a life force of aether which makes us aware of what type of Iramasha we are dealing with. I'm certain you don't even need to be able to sense aether to know what type I am."

While Cirno gave a ginger laugh at first, the woman couldn't help but notice there was an atmosphere around Sumika that felt -- odd. Why would someone be all the way out here if there wasn't anything amiss? The somber nature of the woman combined with the sadness of being unable to fend for herself had to have some type of connection. So, it simply made her press further as she was certain the woman before her wanted to be a heroine more than ever before.

"Oh, and for starters, my name is Cirno Iramasha: Head of the Guild of Heroes and Leader of The Angel Iramasha. Pleasure to meet you, heroine!"

The instinct of the celestial woman was strong, so she reached out to shake the hand of Sumika in order to have some of her holy aether tether itself the red-head. In this way, she'd be empowered ever so subtly by her influence. As the residue of the woman's aura could induce a "pep in her step", so to speak. Since The Angel of The Ice sought to perk up her mood by sparking her body to life with a bit of excess energy; similar to taking a cup of coffee and feeling the buzz from the release of caffenine running in a person's body. The same type of logic would apply here as the particles of her aether seeped into the skin of Sumika if she should return the handshake.

"I'm here because I want to start investing more in heroes. And, given the looks you gave me, I can tell you probably have something that brought you here to help bring out that inner heroism. No one comes to this place unless they are after something and I can't help but get the feeling there is more to you than meets the eye."

"So, am I anywhere close to hitting in the right ballpark?"

The Angel of the Saika

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

This girl before her, this Iramasha as she continued to assume, continued to be painfully friendly, even going as far to say that a thank you wasn't necessary. Like hell it wasn't. She just possibly saved her life, it's called politeness. Truthfully thank you might have been too little of a return on investment.

"But I didn't. You saved me. You sound so sure, but if circumstances were reversed I'd probably just end up dying. I don't mean to be negative, but it's just how things are." The threw her hand up, partially in a fist, thumb pointing over her shoulder. "I'm not my brother, he would have vaporized them without even looking."

With her last words she made a mock explosion sound with her mouth, almost like a child would. She blinked a bit, a little negative but it was really the truth. No growth in who knows how many years? She lost track, but the point is in a world where hollow and demons were everywhere she really was on the pathetic side. True there were plenty of humans weaker than her, but they were probably at least good at not fighting things. She couldn't even get that one right. Finally though she listened to the Iramasha's explanation. Was that right? I mean these were pretty basic things, she was told about those. But still, there was a little bit of new information.

"Well you said the word angel. So that's my guess."

She spoke a bit inquisitively as the woman chuckled. She really only had this woman's statements to go off of, she was bloody clueless. This conversation only served to poke at her insecurities. It was like she was being handed a picture like "Hey, look. This is what a person who can actually do something like you should have figured out by now, fuck you." She had a lot on her mind, and truthfully she has had this increasingly powerful sense of something going wrong for a little while now. She didn't know if it would have to do with Aiko or what, but she only prayed she'd have the strength to carry on.

"L-leader of the Angel Iramasha?"

She spoke in actual shock, what were the chances. The leader of an entire clan, which was effectively a race all things considered, standing before her...and and. Head of the Guild of Heroes? Cirno Iramsha?

"H-heroine?"

Sumika took a step back in disbelief. What the hell did she just run into, and she was no hero. She didn't have a heroic bone in her body. Time and time again, she was powerless. The people around her just died or were lost to the harshness of the world. She couldn't save anyone, and she felt like she'd never be able to save anyone. She stayed strong now because she had to take care of Aiko, for Aiko's sake, but really she just felt like she was gonna stagnate for the rest of her life, watching as the people she loved left her behind, died, or lost themselves...and in the case of the latter two, she'd feel like it was her fault, as it always felt. She'd met a lot of people on her travels...and never could she stop those things from happening.

She reached out politely to shake this girl's hand, and when she did she felt a strange rush of energy surge into her body. She perked up a bit, feeling a bit better for the moment. But still, the smile on her face wasn't fully genuine.

"I'm no hero..." She spoke with a sigh. "I couldn't save a housefly. Everyone I meet passes me by, and if they don't, I can only sit there and watch as they die or watch as some corrupting energy takes them away. You want to know why I'm out here? I adopted a demon. And now I'm stuck here swallowing my terror of their entire race everyday and trying to mother her. I'm just left to sit here and pray she manages to grow up before I manage to screw it up."

THE FRIGID HEROINE'S POST

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

In the mind of Cirno, it hadn't crossed her mind that she really needed a thank you. At this point in her life and development, it was just a natural born instinct forged within her body to go on the attack when something which endangered others decided to make itself known to the world. In fact, what was more important was the fact that The Celestial honestly doubted Sumika would leave The Angel of The Ice stranded in that circumstance if The Angel Leader were crippled and sick. Provided the fellow sister had even a similar amount of power as Cirno, the woman was still assured that something within the woman's body would react and do something to help. She seemed too nice for that in her mind and saw no reason to believe that perception to be false.

"If you had the excess energy, why wouldn't you help me if I was weakened or sick and unable to defend myself? Kind deeds are paid forward one hundred times in my mind, and we angels are greatly in-tune with that. You'd do better to believe your natural instinct to do good in the world is stronger than what you give it credit for. It's hard to overcome our type of bodies, you know."

Right, right.

This girl needed more self-confidence in herself as it seemed pretty obvious to Cirno that she was feeling pretty powerless against the world and her family. This tale-tale sign was made especially true when the Angel Leader paid attention to how the woman almost pouted like a child in the wake of mentioning her brother. It was almost saddening to a degree, but there was still a lack of disbelief in Cirno's mind that she couldn't improve. They shared the same angelic blood, so it made sense enough to The Celestial that with enough training she could tap into her primal instincts as a celestial and pull out that inner good within, tap into her wealth of power and mold herself into being a proper angel much like The Angel of The Ice herself had to do.

"If you speak it, it'll be true, don't you know that? Besides, your power, your lack of belief in yourself and all of that can be changed with training. If you want, I can help you or direct you to places within our peoples land to assist with that. You are a fellow angel and we have to look out for each other."

Soon the oceanic eyes of The Celestial shifted their sights toward the belly of Sumika, making sure to point her right index finger toward it:

"Call me intrusive, but give me an hour or two with you and I'm certain we could find the beauty that is behind your spirit. It's clear you are bothered by your lack of perceived powerlessness, so why don't I make you more aware of that power, hm?"

The ball was in Sumika's court as far as Cirno was concerned. Either she was going to take this risk, or she wasn't. Either way, The Angel of The Ice would still give her other resources to refer to if she declined. And was more than prepared to rip out that potential if she agreed to her little proposal.

"My motherly instinct is too strong....."

"That stuff is the easy part...I mean even if I'm not the best at it, I can spare my energy and do some healing and stuff. But if something was a threat to you, and it was still there, I'd probably die."

She said, responding to Cirno's comment on helping, or basically "sparing a cup of energy". Though her choice of words was a bit strange. Hard to overcome their types of bodies? What were Iramasha difficult to actually kill? That was quite the statement. She didn't feel like she was like an armored animal or a bug, her body felt the same as anyone else's. It felt just as squishy, well squishy until you hit some kind of bone.

"What do you mean hard to overcome our types of...bodies?"

She had to ask. It just seemed like a strange statement. She felt like flesh and blood, like anyone else. I mean she did feel different since she became an Iramasha, but that felt more like a spiritual thing than a physical thing. She had to tilt her head at some of this woman's next words though. "Speak it and it'll be true." Sumika was an idealist, but that even sounded unbelievable for her. The world doesn't work like that. You can't just speak and it'll be. Still, she did follow up with a statement on training. Training...with another Angel Iramasha. That did sound like maybe it would help. She seemed to sure in her speech that she could find what Sumika had not. It was difficult to believe, but this woman was far more talented than Sumika. The way she purified those hollow made that clear. She probably wasn't totally crazy, or at least she hoped she wasn't.

She looked away, to the side, for a moment, one arm crossing her body and gripping the forearm of her opposing arm. It isn't like she had given up, she had never given up. Her confidence was just shot. This decision should have been easy, but she was feeling incredibly self conscious. It didn't take her too long, as she took a deep breath, dropped her arm, and looked to the woman before her.

"If you really think it will work, then fine. It's not like I have a clue how anything of mine works anyway. I've just been working blind. Maybe having help from someone who actually understands it will...do something. At least I hope."

THE FRIGID HEROINE'S POST

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

"Non-sense. If you had my energy, I'm sure the natural instinct you have as an angel would spark you into action. Trust me, you are better than you think you are at the moment."

This statement rang itself as truth in the mind of Cirno. Sure, this woman's confidence was piled into the dirt like a well-beaten housewife's ego, but that didn't mean it couldn't be repaired if someone took the time to invest the seeds of belief, knowledge, and power into her essence. If she was willing to help herself, take the hand Cirno offered and work past her shortcomings; there was no doubt in the mind of The Angel of The Ice that Sumika could become something great.

However, despite that being common sense in the mind of The Celestial, it was something that was quite rare in the world they lived in. As, given the chaotic circumstances of the world, it was rather easy to have these ideals smashed in your face by some power throbbing demonic creature with a lust for rubbing their ugly ass arrogance in your face.

Instead, it took a special kind of person to still keep getting up, training and pushing through the mounds of hell which this existence spewed forth at every person who has breathed within its grace. To look beyond their momentary weakness, remain confident that they would seek the strength they desired in time and to endure until that point. That was a unique quality not found in many spirits willing to face that suffering.

"Our bodies are naturally in tune with our inner mortality. This holy aether of ours is shaped by the ideal of positivity, light and good nature in the universe. If you meditate on that, I'm certain the gods that be will bless you with insight, strength, wisdom, and courage to seek your true potential. You can trust me on that."

There was a strong nod of her head as if she were double assured of herself. Did she sound like a preacher? Perhaps. Did Cirno really care? Not much, no. After all: actions spoke louder than words. And since Sumika accepted her offer to discover more about herself, The Celestial of the Ice wasted no time forging a blazing white vortex of light which was filled to the brim with this heavenly aether. Where was it going to lead them?

...

She was just going to have to find out!

"Come now, if you want to see what you are really made of, follow me and have trust in this leader of yours, hehe~!"

Cirno then stuck our tongue out, spoke childishly for a second and hummed a cheery tune as she grabbed Sumika's hand and seemed as if she wasn't taking no for an answer.

...so, either way it went, this woman was getting the confidence shoved into her -- one way or another!

Angel Lost [Private] 6EdIfMt

The Angel of the Saika

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

"It's one thing to take action...but it's another to try and fight something way out of my league. Like I said, if something injured you and was still here...I'd end up dead if I tried to fight."

She knew what Cirno was trying to say, but that didn't change the fact that she was just so much weaker. It wasn't something that could even really be argued. She can heal a little bit, she can even energize people. She even has a sheer aura that helps maintain an essence of calmness but also energy. She had NO clue how to fight, and her ability to use her powers to fight was rather limited. Her confidence was indeed in the dirt, smashed into it, grinded up in a garbage disposal and spat back out into a plasmafication system, before being fired from a cannon into the sun, but that didn't change simple facts.

It's true, she could keep getting back up. She'd never stop getting back up. Not until the day she actually died. That wasn't confidence though, that was tenacity. Tenacity was one thing she always had. You couldn't keep her down. No matter how far down her confidence went she at least had THAT going for her. Which was good, not totally giving up is part of getting out of a rut like hers.

However, when she asked about their bodies, she was given one of the most cryptic answers she could have possibly gotten. She tilted her head. She understood the positive part, but everything else kinda went over her head.

"Sorry I don't speak Italian."

She said with some of her natural inbuilt sass. She didn't understand it and was gonna be sassy about it. There wasn't any hostility in it, just confusion that she was passing off as a joke. Did she just get herself sucked up into some crazy religion? Probably, but she didn't have to BELIEVE in it so much as work with this woman to figure out how the hell her own body worked. She had her own problems to worry about, it's not like she'd do anything to harm this woman with the knowledge. Not on PURPOSE anyway.

On her acceptance though a blaze of light appeared. Sumika took a step back as she covered her face to shield it from the brightness. She wasn't used to such bright light, despite her electricity making things hella bright. She couldn't see her through the eye shielding but she could hear Cirno. She was speaking, calling herself her "Leader". Oh boy what had she gotten herself into, she was even talking childishly. As she lowered her arm to try and get a good view her hand was suddenly grabbed.

"Wait hold on, I changed my...EEP!"

She couldn't even finish her sentence before she was pulled into the bright light, and whatever that meant for her future.
