The Roarmaul is a weapon designed for close-quarter combat in a situation where a sword just won't cut it. It is a large maul, but weighted well, so that it can be wielded in one or two hands depending on preference. It's length does suggests two hands for control. However, this is a special hammer, in that it is designed to do more than just hit people.

Possessing a unique momentum-powered device located inside the head, it builds up the faster and harder a person swings the hammer, and then is released on impact, adding a secondary blast to the hit and allowing for increased damage. The Hammer starts to get very interesting around Advanced Strength, as the device builds up such energy that it releases a roaring shockwave upon impact, giving it the informal name, Roar Maul. The shockwave is sufficient to blast through the target and knock most people off their feet, as well as disturb hearing from the level of noise it puts out. Master Strength can cause an increased shockwave able to pulverise some of the strongest materials ever concocted, and sweep even the most sturdy and sure-footed people off down the road. Due to the nature of the device within the hammerhead, it loses no time having to 'recharge' after each blow because it is powered exclusively via momentum and not some internal source. The only recharge it needs after being swung, is to be swung again.

It is limited in the fact that it is a rather cumbersome weapon that demands the user to get into close quarters, which could put them at risk. Higher levels of strength need a solid stance so that they are not knocked back by the reaction of the hammer. Which it's shock-absorbency and stellar craftsmanship prevent the majority of the recoil, it can still knock over an unprepared wielder. Since it demands the use of all the person's strength to reach optimal usage, it can exhaust a person quicker than a normal weapon, and so is generally used by the more robust members of the Vastime Army. Another issue is due to the working of the hammer, it loses it's charge within seconds of being swung and not hitting a target, so missing generally tends to drop it down to zero power, unless you go crazy and spin around and around with it until you hit something. In this case, spinning for more than four seconds would cause the head to shatter upon impact as the released forces liquefy key points within the hammer's construction.
