Song: Lost In Control - Artist: Dutchman - Words: N/A
[Note: Visualize a large opening in the middle of the desert. Adam is there with about a few guards (five or so) and one large executor. He has the shinigami placed on a stage and is recording a death video for the Monsuta to instill fear in the world slowly by starting off with something small.] Strength.
Adam wasn't one who was filled with it, but that image of it mattered to the people of this world. And, with the Monsuta lacking in it as of recent, it was time to reclaim that little by little. Henceforth, in the outlands of Iran, a group of rouge shinigami who tried to dismantle a base which The Monsuta held control over was gathered. They were all lined in a row, held down by metal chains and had bags covered over their head. With lights and cameras set focused on them, a man bulging with muscles stepped forth with a giant axe and looked towards a figure with a hoodie pulled over his head."Shall we commence with the execution, sir?"
It was a simple question. But, it was still a question which had depth. As the answer to this question was one which would determine whether or not people lived or died. With the bigger picture at hand, this hooded figure smiled and gave a cheery thumbs up. "Kill 'em. I don't want to do the dirty work myself, but we have an image to maintain and it's why I hired ya'."
It was pretty nonchalant in nature, but it was earnest. Really. In an ideal world, this cloaked figure wouldn't bother killing these people. However, these were dire times. And dire times called for urgent measures. So, broadcasted over the virtual web, a row of twelve shinigami had their heads chopped clean off. They pleaded for mercy, begged for forgiveness, sobbed or just remained dead. These men knew their fates were sealed when the answer was given and there was nothing left to do but degrade and devolved into nothing more than blood stains on the sand. "That's right. None of you did anything wrong, really. But that is what happens when you drag yourselves into battles which have high stakes. If you weren't prepared for death as one of the outcomes, I'm afraid you made a poor gamble."
There was a soft sigh which escaped the lips of the human as he saw the blood began to pour and ooze past his feet. Bending himself to one knee, Adam let the blood trickle down his toes before placing his right index finger on the pool, moving that finger to his mouth and sampling the fluid for himself. "But don't worry. You'll get a chance to be reborn as human again. And hopefully, you won't degrade into that miserable bundle of life you call a shinigami."
There was then a shrug of his shoulders as he stood up and felt himself being alleviated of this sin. "That's right, Adam. You designed that weapon to allow them a chance to be reborn as pure humans again. That is the best death they could have hoped for. There is no reason for our mind to feel anything for it." [Only Adam can hear this]
The sweet feminine voice of someone so familiar rang in his head. It felt like a loving embrace and caused him to turn a flush shade of red as he sighed and held his chest. With affection glazed over in his eyes, Adam spoke out to eve and uttered these words:"You are right, Eve. It couldn't be helped. Let's keep playing this game."
While some of the other men of the MOnsuta looked on with a weird expression on their face, they were fortune enough to cut the feed off and only record the good bits of those poor bastards getting their heads chopped off. So, when their cloaked leader was aware of this, he began to blush and cover his right cheek."Ahhhh, I did it again didn't I? I look like one of those weird nutjobs who talk to themselves like a schizo freak or something, right?"
...There was a pause.
Then -- a laugh. "That's right, boss. You sound worse than General Butt Naked! What are you gonna do next, open their hearts open and start executing people in your birthday suit?"
The whole band of soldiers, and even the ring-leader himself, started bursting out loud with laughter. Really, it was the best kind of medicine for something this heinous. Even the grimmest moments could be turned into something hilarious. And Adam appericated that human comfort. Since even though they were bloody terrorist, that didn't mean they weren't entitled to some good times in his mind. "Christ! I should give you a promotion for that one!"
And with that, the man fell down on his ass, let out a content sigh and stared off into the sky."Yeah. It's a good end to a successful mission, eh?"

A bed... Her bed. Elena let her aching muscles relax finally as she flopped down onto her queen sized mattress. It had been far too long since she felt the comfort of her own home. After learning the ropes of being a Shinigami with a certain dog-eared flirt, the amber-haired woman was more than prepared to let herself rest. The pain of having her stomach split open was thankfully long gone, and soon she hoped her muscles would repair themselves soon. This soreness was stressing her out. If it weren't for the fact she were home for the first time in a week, she would have absolutely have asked one of her friends over to help... "relieve" her pain.
But for now, Ellie just laid there, staring at her ceiling with only the sound of an analog clock ticking to keep her company. Her mind wasn't prone to wandering, at least in her current state. She felt calm, collected, and thankfully sane after dealing with what she had before. Her body felt a lot more... fragile than her spiritual one did. This only crossed her mind because it was also the first time in a week she had truly gotten to live in her human form again. The past week was spent learning the ropes of shinigami, though there was a lot less physical training than she had hoped. Oh well. Can't be picky when you shouldn't even be alive.
An almost silent vibration rippled through Elena's bed, her head turning lazily to gaze at her phone. The light just above her screen was flashing on and off, indicating that there was a notification. Said light was also blue, which meant that it was a direct message of some sort. Who would have the guts to be bothering her when she was just trying to get some alone time? Eleanore asked herself this as her brow furrowed and her arm reached out to painfully grasp her phone and bring it towards her face. Hitting the power button, she tapped a few numbers and swiped the screen to let her phone know that it was indeed her who was accessing it. A few more taps of the screen later and she was viewing the message that had been sent to her. There were no words, only a video. A moment passed of nothing until the video finally loaded and the screen flickered to life again. Ellie's heart sunk immediately.
Bent over with bags over their heads, were at least a dozen Shinigami. All of them were locked up in chains, held down and pleading for their lives. It felt like an eternity, the length of that video. By the time it was over, Ellie was standing up and getting fully dressed. She needed to go for a walk. This was not something sex nor chocolate could help her with. Some alone time to walk around in the rain was what she needed. Taking the umbrella from the hook on the back of her door, she proceeded to stroll as calmly as she could out of her apartment and outside of the complex.
The streets of New York were typically bustling, but it was pouring outside. Ellie shouldn't even be out here, but she really needed some time to think. The atmosphere that everything provided for her was enough to keep her mind off of her own physical stress. Her muscles screamed in pain but her emotions were too strong for her to care. There was such a mess of feelings that she couldn't even identify which was the dominant one. There was fear, hatred, misery, guilt, anxiety... a mess of things that her, as a typically apathetic human being, could not comprehend without a proper stroll through the night. Hopefully by the end of it all, she would have a renewed vigor for her job as a Substitute Shinigami. She wasn't just here to kill Hollows. She was here to keep other people alive.
Or at least, that's what she interpreted it as.

Song: lostwoods - Artist: Ozonesounds - Words: N/A
The mind ages, time loses it's meaning, and it's rather easy to find one's self melting through the sands of the moment. Much to this effect, when the job got finished up, it didn't take Adam too much time to venture through the world, slip into a vortex of light and immerse himself in teleportation based travel. A venture that might have taken hours or days was cut short thanks to the rapid advancement of the world thanks to war being the catalyst for progression and evolution. It was something that always played in the back of Adam's mind, but wasn't something which was too important to the moment.
Instead, what could be seen taking place on the outskirts of this New York City in a lone and desolate location was the arrival of something that would forever change her fate. The wandering woman would see this male emerge out of a vortex of brilliant red light as his crimson eyes pierced their gaze towards her direction. And, despite the air being thick with humidity, heat and a warm downpouring of rain; the male couldn't help but feel relaxed in this smothering atmosphere. After all: New York was a city of degenerates. So it wouldn't be hard pressed to continue his recruitment mission here with this lone and lost woman. "You look pretty lost. Do you need a hand there, miss?"
Despite having just committed a mass atrocity under the name of radical terrorism, the male's mind genuinely found nothing wrong with the actions he served as it functioned for a higher purpose. With the love of Eve beating strongly in his heart, a sincere smile could be seen shining in the darkness of the rain as his warmth started to overflow and fill the abyss around them with pink light, life, and love. It was the type of love which touches the soul, consumes it with fulfillment and embrace that all will be "alright". Even with the sensation of fresh blood still weighing on his dirtied and tattered spirit, this loving feeling from within protected him from that weight and allowed Adam to do what must done for his cause. "I can't help but feel a sense of dread, despair, abandonment and terror from within that vibrant soul of yours. After all: who would find themselves in the middle of a torrential downpour in the midst of the night if something wasn't wrong?"
A laugh which was as carefree as a young child exited out of the mouth of this individual as he chose to make light of this situation and his choice of words. As, despite not knowing her, he was making a lot of grandiose assumptions and wording to some stranger. However, it's because he was aware of this that he could laugh and play it off. Since, to a degree, this whole life was kinda funny to him and it was best to get a chuckle in the face of an absolute morbid reality and indulge within the realm of delusions, fantasy, and comfort.
"Or maybe I'm just reaching a bit too far? It's a spiritual world and I just want you to know the signals your soul is sending to me!"

The sound and sight of rain was soothing, making Ellie's day at least a tad more bearable after the atrocities she had witnessed only moments before. It felt like her mind was slowly drifting off to better places as she wandered aimlessly along the streets of New York. It felt nice to finally just be able to walk around the city without being on the job. She didn't have to scan the alleyways for criminals, so there was no need to really pay attention to where she was going either. Even still, when the redhead pulled herself from her thoughts, the first thing she noticed was that she wandered into one of New York's many slums. It was a place that she was quite familiar with, as was her job. This is where she was assigned most of her cases to investigate, a terrible place full of terrible people. Even with that in mind, she didn't feel too out of place...
Yet as she walked, finally forgetting the terrors that she had been subjected to witnessing, there was something- no, someone who couldn't help but cause her to regress back into her pit of rage appeared literally out of thin air mere feet away from her. Her fists tightened up in fury around her umbrella, unbeknownst to her causing slight indentations in the metal. From a flash of light appeared a young boy, the same that was in the video of many Shinigami being executed. His young, deceivingly bright demeanor forced an anger forwards in Elena's heart, one that was as strong as the one she felt towards those who killed her parents while she was young. This was the feeling that motivated her to work in the law enforcement industry. It was why she was so vindictive towards murderers. To end someone's life to further your own goals? It was a foul reason to snuff out the light of one's future. Her fists only kept tightening against the handle of her umbrella, further denting the poor metal.
And his voice. It made Elena want to carve out her own ear drums. Maybe if she didn't know what this kid had done, she wouldn't have found it so aggravating, but that wasn't reality. Her eyes glanced down at this kid, harboring an intense rage for him and wishing for the end of his life, but to the kid it would only seem as if she were giving him a casually annoyed stare. It wasn't wrong to want a murderer to be dead, to wish for the murder of a murderer. A kid though? Hell doesn't wait for its future inhabitants to reach a certain maturity. There was no R18+ rating on the gates to hell, or any sign that said "you have to be this tall to burn for the rest of eternity". Ellie saw nothing wrong with wishing ill to children who've committed the crime that took her parents from her. They were all the same to her.
"Or maybe I'm just reaching a bit too far? It's a spiritual world and I just want you to know-"
Ellie didn't even wait for the kid to finish what he was saying. She merely walked past him without any regard for what came out of his mouth. It was all indistinguishable noise to her. The redhead's mind tuned out everything as her gaze became hazed from the powers of her own fury. If it weren't for her ever growing tolerance for bullshit, she would have snapped and beat the kid to death with her own bare hands. Yet this was still a public area. She didn't need the eyes of citizens who didn't get the full picture staring at her, wondering why she was assaulting some poor kid in the middle of the streets. Instead, she walked away, not listening to what the kid had to say even if he followed her. With eyes not faltering from the path in front of her, she walked on, hoping that the kid would just give up and go home. In the near future, that might be the last thing that he saw before Elena's unyielding blade pierced his corrupt heart. Or at least, that's what happened in the woman's mind as she came up with any mental imagery that would help her nerves relax.
