Artist: N/A - Song: N/A - Word Count: N/A

Some things couldn't be held in or contained in the darkness. The Quincy returned to finish the job and came for the blood of him.Demons and Quincy from that night so long ago. They showed their fangs so long ago how many moons had gone. This was normal that had been put away for so many years. The Pale Rider, that was a title these days but did they know? He put a hand through his hair and said softly as Pest once said."I'll do what's needed, send a message that cannot be wiped away by anything." Arrows were shot at him and his body they struck did nothing. They shattered upon contact with his eyes of crimson stared downwards. "You attack me with arrows and teeth, yet you know nothing of pain...I'll educate you soon." It was almost a blur of an instant before each person lay on the ground. This blood letting or perhaps a reach into the past darkness. The Pale Rider, murder was a tool, not a pleasure. But something in him deep down found a joy in this.

Lives were forfeit in this moment of all things as they attacked or tried. Demons found nothing fruitful from their Master Kiriel. He'd once said they did this to wake him up. Darkness was in him and he wasn't turning it away tonight. He sent a surge of electricity through the ground hitting those around him. Their bodies convulsed in pain as he exhaled softly a smile slowly appeared." No, no, no I won't let you die just yet. That's too soft a punishment...I won't let you have such an easy release from your chains of captivity. The Quincy I can't harm because of this alliance, but I can do something to them...that will not go away.." Tsubasa's smile became twisted as he stood there. " Run, run fast as you can..I promise this night will lead to wonderland." They got up and began running away. The trouble with the truth of things was that they weren't going to get away. Escape from this darkness wasn't happening not in this eve. They were going to run and flee from him and seeing the hopelessness.

"Do you feel it, do you sense the hopelessness? DO YOU FEEL THE FEAR THEY FELT! THE AGONY BROUGHT ON BY TENSION AS CHILDREN WERE RIPPED APART! I will show you no kindness or mercy this night..You drew your daggers and pushed them into this world like poison...You ripped apart my daughter, so no matter what I do...I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!" They ran and would go again and again feeling. Storms brewed around the area as rain fell and they slipped and fell in the mud. Dirt clinging to their white outfits and dark clothing. Crawling and cowering in the mud pleading as he sent a surge of electricity convulsing into their body. "Begging, you seriously believe begging will get mercy? My children begged how many begged for remorse from you and you said no? HOW MANY did you stand and watch burn you....You...." His spiritual pressure caused the ground to crack as their bodies convulsed more in pain. He walked towards one of the males.

Bringing his index finger up he snapped it into the male's knee joint causing it snap. Causing a howl of pain to echo out as he sent another surge out rendering the others unconscious. This was the pain and sadness fo the Pale Rider. The past was gone, Tsunashi was gone. Everyone had left him was he the only one left? They'd stolen his place to belong from him. Taken away what made him human and now it was time for them to see. He gripped the broken leg as he charged it with electricity. Controlling the nervous system through signals he slowly caused pain to be sent overwhelmingly to the brain. They left things on what was done to Tsubaki. They'd committed atrocities that went beyond this realm. His son's mother destroyed and raped by them. Caused pain beyond fathoming and they wanted mercy? They expected him to show kindness to obey some code of conduct they didn't. His composure slowly returned as his smile faded and it became slow. Something filled the air long past the days that once were. The crimson world that filled this rotten realm.

The past was right he made the choice as he gripped one of their throats as he growled slightly. "If...not for my brother I would cause you agony beyond your imagination..If not for his sacrifice...I would destroy you.I will feed you to Despair and show you just how unhinged you can make someone.I will bring back our weapons that we wore off..The Steeds return to the horsemen, you've fired the first shot of war..Hulderic and Kiriel started this battle and I will finish it.Your location is known and I will kill everyone..no one will be spared your pitiful existence will cease.." He dropped him as he walked to a tree giving it a slam with his hand. As the entire area exploded in spiritual pressure. "Get out of here or I will erase you completely you worthless maggots..I'll show you the Pale and what the true meaning of Despair is...Get out of this place.Or I will erase you."

Oh, how it clawed at his subconscious, the desire to peel them like fruits and skin them. Heal them and break them over and over again. Torture them using Despair to slowly rip and tear their souls apart. To slowly destroy the humanity in them to make them mere husks. Oh, the Euphoria of the thought was there. Pest made a sacrifice because he could restrain himself. Because he could hold in this demon within his blood. But right now it scratched and clawed like a beast in him. He remained alert as they vanished and his body let a sigh out as he remained there in the rain. Tsubasa Unabara the man of composure and endless stance. Was vulnerable for a moment as he laid against the tree. Water ran does his face and cheeks tears or not was unknown. This was something the Pale Rider could do as he'd yet to mourn. Yet to truly let it out as he'd felt his emotions building and boiling."Tsunashi, your right..I can't be that demon..those kids count on me..pathetic..of me I guess to fail expectations of my brothers. The failure remains and those gifted ones die, I guess that's fate for you."

He was alone at last and something about that thought struck him. The only Unabara left was him everyone else had died. Those who were here didn't carry the burden. Was this what it meant to be strong from his generation? To survive and complete his progress to becoming someone worthwhile. Tsubasa's journey it was a long one as the clothing he wore got damp. He watched them depart running away in fear of what they'd seen. The message was sent but it almost went further. His emotions were raw and unhinged. This was the Unabara who once lead them. The man who'd kill without remorse and bring death upon them. He ripped his brother's arm off as a kindness at the time when it was death. That arm was Pest's belief in him and the only thing that stopped him. It was the root which kept the darkness at bay. He deserved no happiness or joy in his life. It's why no matter the marriage Tsubasa remained unmoved. He didn't let love enter that picture.

For his crimes, he deserved no happiness his only place was a swordsman. A warrior who had killed far too many to ever be forgiven. Who'd done crimes against the Balance and the world. This was his atonement and his price for the pain he'd caused. This was his Despair to rot in for all eternity.

Artist: Undertale OST - Song: Your Best Friend - Word Count: 914

Madness, isn’t it just great? It eats away at you, picking at your inner demons. Reveling in your faults and errors, the soft cacophony of doubt and self revile jeering at you in howling laughter. It brought a person down to their knee’s took from them everything they cherished and left only the sweet tunes of denial and regret in many. It would drive a sane man insane, it’d turn the proud into ragged shells of their former selves.

It brought the meek to do horrid things, terrible. . terrible things. Or, atleast this is what inami thought. Coming here following the turbulent tides of energy from one of the persons she held oh so near and dear, the thought that this would be . . messy certainly crossed her mind. Infact she wasn’t picky, oh no oh no~ Rather she might as well join in the fray, and enjoy the feast that was impending.. . Or , that's what she’d normally do. What she normally would find to be acceptable in such happenstance as this. Alas, this was tsubasa, and because it was him, the wailing churning bubbling pot of turmoil within her was put on the side burner.

You see, she was many things, depraved, insane, horrendous, dastardly, damnable, pretty, sly, cutsie and sarcastic. But to those that knew her and her rumbling ball of contradictions and self serving biases she was still loyal, friendly, kind and most of all not willing to abandon them to their own inner demons. She’d rather self destruct with them than let them suffer alone.

Before her she could hear it, the wails of those who had touched upon tsubasa’s reverse scale. Had caused him so much pain, and so much anguish. She knew tsubasa, she knew the passifisto personality was merely a sham bolstered by the resolve he had to atone. So her body vanished in such a speed that the air seemed to distort, the ground seemed to rumble, the skies seemed to be blown apart by the inverse force of her body puncturing the pressure that pushed against it. Her skin might be torn, her blood might bubble up in a maleficent blackened streak but what was the point?

Her body was but a shell, mundane and wordly, she did not need it. She did not crave the comforts of flesh, and even as the pain screamed and her nerve endings had been beaten raw she bridged the gap at such speeds that when she appeared her skin was blackened by sticky blood. Her skin shorn off, and yet as the bloody arms wound around the tired mans body, there was. . such softness in such a gesture.

Even as her blood sizzled and pulsed from her body, as depraved and broken she was. As her mortal flesh mended, and the pain ran amok in her brain. As her body was restored to that of a pristine youth, whose multi-colored eyes shone with compassion there was only tsubasa, and his pain. The greif that was so apparent upon his face, so raw and vulnerable that it caused her blackened ice-cube of a heart to quiver. She gently squeezed his back and brought him into her embrace.

He could stab her, and she’d continue. He could rip her limbs off and she’d re-attach them. It didn’t matter much to the demonic queen who had invaded the soul society’s space to come here. Even if she was beaten she’d console him. Even if she was harmed she’d never revile him. Rather she softly lamented with him, and in this moment of silence to which her thoughts were organized in the sea of chaos that pervaded every inch of her being, she sought to ask him a gentle question.

”..Do you lament the choices you have made?”

She hadn’t told him I told you so, she hadn’t tried to ridicule him, or giggle at his misfortune. She merely had asked this question and then gave him a squeeze, the queens chin resting lightly against his broadened back, her eyes staring at the fabric of his robe before sliding shut. She could say many things, ask many questions and say they would all pay. That she would burn them, kill them, castrate their kin, and slaughter every one of them until they became a speck in the endless passage of time. Yet, she refrained, this emotion, this fury within her chest yearned to be released upon the world.

She hated those that would harm him, she wished them dead. She wished to take their worlds and turn it to ashes, to obliterate them from existence only after casting them into the wretched pit they deserved to be in. Punishment wouldn’t be enough for them, bloodshed would not sate her. Even now she thought of hundreds of ways to find these wretches, to punish them , to kill and slaughter them.

It would be so easy for her, a flick of her wrist, or a snap of her finger and they’d instantaneously be in a living hell. Yet here in the quiet, in the sorrow and despair she did not voice or bring about these actions. She did not fan the flames of hatred, she did not stoke the feelings of revulsion that tsubasa had to be feeling. She did not confirm to him that he should go upon a different path. No, as she clenched her pristine moon-kissed fingers in his kimono, and pulled him in closer she merely murmured in a tone that was barely a whisper, as she held back the tears at seeing a man, who she respected so much, being reduced to such a state.

”..Haven’t you done enough, haven’t you atoned enough?”

Her questions remained calm even if she was the very inverse definition of the word. She was powerful enough to topple the heavens, to destroy everything in their wake, to cause bloodshed on such a scale that she could eradicate the earths and build a tower of bones that reached the heavens. But with the matters of the heart all the power in the world could not fix that . . She merely did not know, how deep the wound within tsubasa’s heart was. And that saddened her.

Tsubasa knew the presence that came to him, it was not Ibiki. It was not Zeda or Henrex. It was not Mirja or those who claimed a kinship with him. Tsubasa's suffering attracted one being at risk being here. It attracted a true friend among the demonic races behind the veil. This wasn't the truth but it felt like it sometimes. He could run faster than almost anyone in the world. Even he couldn't escape the pain that this world brought. Karma had taken it's time to beat Tsubasa to a pulp taking everything. He wouldn't stab Inami or harm a hair on her head. He was angry and upset that they would chase his son down. They would push and kill his family and precious ones for him. And yet he couldn't draw his blade and relapse here. He couldn't unsheath it and bring about their pain. Show them the skills that the Pale Rider holstered in his side. His repentance wasn't done yet, he'd still done more. Resting his head on Inami's figure he could smell her scent. Such a familiar smell filled his nostrils as he wasn't crying. But it was the plan he was upset and wanted revenge.

This entire cycle had to end somewhere, revenge and seeking it only brought about more. The question was startling and brought a thought to him. Did he regret everything he'd done up until this point? Did he regret the toil and pain he undertook to make his family grow? Did he regret meeting those faces who were new? Did he regret the trials and tribulations he'd gone through for them all? Kurai and everyone pushed him towards a tomorrow he'd yet to see. "I...no, I don't regret it. If I take a single step backward, it will make their efforts in vain." Tsubasa wouldn't give them this from beyond their graves. They didn't deserve it from him. They deserved a better leader than what he was capable of providing. But even if he was all these things regret wasn't acceptable. Tsubasa didn't get to Mourn or show emotions very often. So often in his life, they would require him to extinguish his passion.

Tsubasa remained silent his expression was blank as his eyes seemed faded beneath the blonde hair. It wasn't much left in those crimson eyes as he felt drained. He'd not thought he could feel such emotion till he met the ones. The ones who did so much to his daughter Tsubaki, she was tortured and destroyed by them. Inami could give chase and easily kill them. They paused for a moment to look but ended up fleeing back to Demon World. Heading away as Tsubasa heard another question poised at him. Hadn't he repented enough, had he not given enough of himself? Had he not paid for his crimes through his blood and tears? Was Inami right, had Tsubasa done enough to become that man? No, he'd come too far and Kurai wanted him this way. Tsubasa had to change for the better and step away. He needed to stop being the Pale Rider and be Tsubasa Unabara. Did he lament it or regret the facts of what was put forward? Had he done enough so many questions raced through his mind. But a single term came to his mind One for All, that was what mattered.

"I...I don't want to be that person anymore. If I kill them in anger I am no better than they. I will not let my daughter's memories be soiled by..it.I repent for those who are gone now..this is my cross." Tsubasa said softly as he seemed to just remain in the rain, realizing that his one friend in this world so far. It wasn't Ibiki or any of the others it was Inami. She came to him when he was in danger of slipping back into something. When he wanted to just throw it all away and watch it burn. Tsubasa didn't know what else he could accomplish here.

The Sound of Sorrow Empty Re: The Sound of Sorrow

Artist: Undertale OST - Song: Your Best Friend - Word Count: 914

What does it mean to be alone? Is it truly a physical state, a societal state? Or is it just an emotional state of alienation in which one has no one else to rely on, to sort out the turmoil within their souls? Inami couldn’t answer this, the instinctual need for those with higher intellect to seek out others for comfort. . . or to alienate themselves and bear the burden alone. But here in this place, the smell of sorrow was practically rancid upon tsubasa’s skin. It permeated every fibre of his being.

And what scared her was she couldn’t say she wasn’t enticed by it, by his sweet suffering. By the flavors of turmoil that lingered within his heart of gold. She wished to push him further into the darkness, or at least that was what her nature called for her to do. It would be easy to sow those seeds, but inami softly murmured as her body pressed lightly there against him. Symbolically she bore the pain that he bore, she showed him he would not be alone. She was selfish, the best thing she could do would be to leave him here, to go to the friends that would be good for him. That might give him the solace that he sought.

”..No. “

The whisper left her lips so soft that even tsubasa might have a hard time hearing it. Within her she felt the pangs of sorrow that caused her blackened heart to twinge in pain. She ought to let him be, to allow him to truly blossom into the being he was intended to be. But she couldn’t leave him at the same time, for reasons that went further than mere friendship. It was the fear of being truly alone that she knew of, she wouldn’t wish that of anyone else. The moment you look up and stare at the world after it has fallen apart around you, and nobody's there to help you pick it back up. As he, tsubasa spoke about how it would be in vain if he took a step back here, inami’s smile slowly creeped up on her lips.

But there was no insanity here, she merely thought about everything. About what he had sought to achieve and how far he had come. A lesser individual that had walked such a path may have been crushed under the weight that settled upon their shoulders, the odds stacked against them. He had affected those who stood with him for the better, and for that she was thankful, even as her very being reviled everything he stood for, she still felt those waves of gratitude within her, and thus she spoke softly her voice dry, the chords of her own emotions reverberating from the bottom of her heart.

”..But you cannot live for them, the solution you crave cannot be sought by ensuring only the happiness of others tsubasa, you must know this by now. “

As she spoke, her lips closed and she waited, her breath soft and even as she thought about it. The need to affirm that the path you strode upon was the right one. Inami exhaled softly and listened to tsubasa speak about how he did not wish to become that person once more. Inami felt exhaustion from the bottom of her soul, how could someone do this to someone who had tried so hard to change their path? If it was someone like her she wouldn’t be surprised. Yet for it to happen to tsubasa, that was enough to cause the girls fingers to clench harder momentarily, white hot rage once more ignited within her being.

But she hid the tremors, she fought back the emotions once more. Softly she spoke her words halting, hesitant. As if afraid that speaking her own true thoughts that ran through her own sick and twisted mind might be the wrong thing to do. Yet, she also felt it was the right thing to do.

”..You will never become that person again, even if you wanted to.”

Then he spoke of repenting and the girl felt once more that elusive twitch of pain within her. It was such an alien sensation, one that made inami shake her head softly as her voice cracked a bit as some of the emotions that she had buried within surfaced momentarily.

”..Idiot. . “

The word was spoken in a tone that was endearing, rather than insulting, her lips curved into a smile even as the tears threatened to overflow from the demonesses eyes.

”. Instead of Repenting, Honor their memories and cherish your friends. “

As she closed her eyes, she thought of how she had met tsubasa, of the memories she had made, of the changes in her own life that stemmed from meeting him, and not for the first time wished she had all the answers to life. Slowly though she let out a breath, and that probably was the only noise that echoed in the silence of the place around them. Then her softest of chuckles left her lips, pondering and more then that of amusement, it was a kind of laugh that one who looked back at their life after they had long since treaded the path they set out on. A soft noise of contemplation that came from a soul who knew their own fate.

”..You are wrong you know.”

Her words came out gentle, but strong.

”..All your friends will help you bear your cross”

She bit her lip slightly and paused, uncertain if she should say the words she was about to say, but once again she said them anyways. He wished to tread a path devoid of the killer he once was, and so she was going to do her damndest to give him the push in the direction he sought.

”..You just have to open up and let them do so.”

The Sound of Sorrow 6EdIfMt

He remained silent he began to hear the familiar echo in his mind. Tsubasa's mind seemed to wander to a distant place away from this world. He sat there before him a younger version of himself. "All that wisdom and you won't do a damn thing? Are you content to watch this world burn? Or will you wield that blade as before, for the survival of the innocent. For those who cannot bring themselves to bear against the might of shadow. You know where the world's balance is broken, this is the truth and you cannot hide from it." He remained quiet as he let a soft breath leave his body. Inami's words were hitting home it seemed a calm began to wash over him. His emotions seemed to become number by the second as he began thinking. He knew what had to be done and it wasn't something he could do with a weak will. He'd once upon a time used his sword to cut a path for the Gotei. Leading them to a promised land now where they stood tall again. That time had passed his skills had grown but purpose had been lost.

Slowly he began to rise as his voice changed slightly. "How long has it been, since a purpose has been upon my blade? How many moons have passed since I felt the need to truly try? When did I start not caring about the world enough to let my family come first? At what point did my promises expire?" He stood up as he slowly seemed to be coming out of the fog that cloaked him. His friends were his holding and they helped him be more. He was beyond this and anything like this, oh yes the Pale Rider could feel remorse. He could feel a number of things in this world. But one thing he didn't often feel was a regret, why had he been blind? His blade's lack of purpose and his lost desire. Tsubasa had been a pillar of the Gotei and the Shinigami. But this wasn't his need any longer, he was required for something else. His plan didn't expire nor did his promises to his daughter. Revenge solved nothing he had more important things. Resolve flowed into him like fire as he began to feel it.

He patted Inami on the head smiling a bit. [color=red]"Thank you, for waking me from my slumber Inami. I need to go to the Human World, I've business with those would be heroes the Vanguard."[/red] A resolve came back as his eyes looked over towards the direction the Quincy ran. Blood could be spilled now if he wanted, but his blade pulled towards something else. This wasn't the time to waste on the insects who'd plagued him. His breath softly exhaled as he prepared his mind and body for what was to come. They would call him a traitor and many names as he came there. The Vanguard had fallen weak and defeat in these days. It was time for them to emerge again, he'd asked nicely once. This time he would make them stand up if he had to break every bone in their body. Tsubasa was done with asking nicely and politely for them. They'd lost ground and footing again and again. Azure's passing marked the loss of their desire to protect and defend. Their blades had lost purpose now.

It was time to remind them of the fact they had a purpose to accomplish yet in this world. Tsubasa Unabara, he was revived and ready to begin his duty again. To make sure those who call themselves hero don't lose their way. It was something he considered his personal job, once before the Gotei lost its fangs. He restored them and now it was time for him to restore the Vanguards. He didn't intend leadership or anything of the like. They were an illustrious bunch with a history that needed a slight reminder. They stood against the tides of darkness and where it's defender.
