The Queen and The Wolf [Private/Sho Fuya] Empty The Queen and The Wolf [Private/Sho Fuya]

The night was actually rather pleasant, while a there was a small chill in the air it was a rather nice chill. In Micronesia there was a small hut on the countryside, Masami was inside waiting for something.
A nice green and white dress on, a glass of a deep red wine in her hand as she watched the night go on by. A sip of the wine and she'd let the fermented taste of the fruit settle on her tongue a moment. The wine was from only a few years ago but she appreciated its sweetness.
Soon she let out a sigh and looked to the door thoughts stirring,
she had sent out people to bring in recruits to help her the establishment of the kingdom and if all went well she would have a decent number of troops brought to her. Soon good news was brought to her as one of the blue Ganma stepped through the door and bowed to her telling her of the recruits it had gathered.

"Thank you, please see them to the quarters and tents as well as food prepared for them...did any of them show much promise?". Masami stood and the Ganma rose and nodded before it replied.

"Yes, one did, he has prior combat experience, shall I send him in?" The ganma awaited its orders, Masami seemed unsure though. She was shy, almost too shy and was regretting this whole decision. But with a few moments taken to calm her self and a breath to be taken she nodded and the Ganma walked back out. She picked up the glass of wine then looked to the bottle trying to decide if whether or not she wanted to leave the glass for later and just have the entire bottle but then she'd look like a drunkard, then again she loved wine. But drunk was not good right now and she sipped from the wineglass again.

The ganma walked to the camp and tracked down the man it was looking for. As it approached him the ganma bowed and spoke "The Queen wishes to speak with you, you have been deemed an important asset with potential to be a great help towards her goals, Sho Fuya" The ganma would escort Sho to the small hut Masami was waiting in and simply knock before opening the door for the man. It would be just them, and Masami had grown a bit nervous in the time the ganma had been gone but she mustered her courage and awaited for someone to say something as she stared out the window wine glass in hand.

-Earlier That Day-

"Look at all these green as hell wannabe soldiers this country has started recruiting.", a voice sounded out over the vastness of the ship that was making its way to where all the new recruits were to be summoned. It wasn't hard to know just who the voice belonged to as over the course of the voyage only really one man had the nerve or the gall to even speak about what was going on. Sho Fuya, a former Gote Lieutenant and a former member of the Vanguard, had been talking for the majority of his trip to the island, letting everyone know who came close to him or could get within ear shot of him just how green everyone was. And that was because they were "green", the vast majority of these recruits were freshly minted graduates of several different military schools or had just now decided to join the military. In essence, the vast majority of them were fresh blood that did not know what real combat, or even what the horror of war could do to the mind. Sho Fuya knew all too well the taxes of doing battle and what the costs of victory and what the costs of loss looked like from first hand experience. He had not thought that so many men and women with so little experience would join the cause to fight for the budding new nation of Hinasho, but he supposed it couldn't be helped.

A few months of training and a detailed tactical education curriculum should help the majority of these green recruits turn into at least acceptable soldiers while also weeding out those that are just interested in getting paid. Sho thought to himself, eyeing up a rather buxom new recruit who he found his eyes wandering to every time his mind roamed. He loved women, what could he say? Still he had enough respect for someone joining the military to not allow his notions of womanizing to interfere with his evaluation process of those around him. During the course of their trip, he had been loud, and obnoxious, but it had all be a mask so that he could observe their reactions. Some didn't look to happy, those were probably the ones who would be weeded out first because their feelings were so easily hurt, but the majority chose to ignore him and go about their business. He sensed resolve in those recruits, but he didn't know if they would even make it on the battleground if they ever were in a situation like that. As the ship neared its destination, the recruits were forced to be separated from each other (as was typical protocol to establish squads), and forced to group up with new people. Sho, being grouped with at least twenty other recruits, found himself sizing up his new squad mates with his judgmental eyes.

For the life of him he couldn't tell if any of them were worth their weight, but none the less he grew silent. Usually there were reasons that people were put together into squads, mainly to make a group more versatile, or to assign trouble makers to a group with a more authoritative leader. In this situation he wondered if he had been labeled a trouble maker, he snickered at the thought, and that someone among them were some kind of dick head authority figure who would keep the others in line. He contemplated this line of thinking until a voice over the intercom of the ship decided to let them know arrival would be in a little under a few minutes. He heard the other's introduce themselves to each other, but no one approached Sho, and that was fine with him. He didn't want to meet a bunch of people who were clearly glory seekers or looking to take advantage of a budding nation by draining their treasury. He could hear what the majority of his new squad was about and a frown formed on his face, the vast majority were just seeking a steady pay check, and didn't really care about the mission they were about to undertake. But instead of causing a scene and calling them out on it, Sho kept quiet, and listened as he leaned against the railings of the air ship to look down at the island that would soon be his home for quite a long time.

Sho wasn't here for money, he had a vast retirement fund just sitting in a bank generating interest, and he sure as hell wasn't a glory seeker. No, Sho was here for a reason that even he was surprised by. He wanted to help, it was odd feeling like he wanted to help people again as he had been in the bottom of a bottle for a pretty long while now, and it was even more surprising that he was sober. It had been a long time since he had not drunk himself silly and with him flying as straight as an arrow, he was going to become an unstoppable force for this new nation. He straightened his red scarf and toyed with his olive colored jacket as the ship docked at the meeting grounds, he looked about for a bit seeing a vast number of other ships also making dock. It was clear that the Queen's message had reached a lot of ears and he wondered just what type of people the lady had attracted to her service. Still he reckoned it didn't matter, the weak of will would be weeded out probably early, and he was pretty sure there would be some form of chaos that would ensue from that. There always was.

The squads were filed out of the ships, escorted by weird looking things called: Ganma. He followed with his squad to their designated instructor, an elderly man who he had no idea if he knew what he was teaching or not. The Ganma left Sho and the recruits to his mercy. "Welcome to the Hinasho Kingdom, I have been hired to mold you into soldiers of the utmost capability. Now...to see just how far each of you are along as recruits, I will test your mettle against one another." , the instructor stated as he looked down at the list of names more than likely given to him so that he could remember the troops of his squad. After what seemed a few minutes he began to pair them off, putting Sho against a rather irritating money grubber who was looking to make a quick buck of his service. "This won't take long...I would say don't even blink because you might miss something!", Sho said as he drew Jinks from her scabbard.

=============================

-Later that evening-

After successfully beating all of his squad mates, one by one, he noticed that a small crowd had began to gather around the training ground being used by his squad. They glared at him with such fury because after each defeat he would give them tips and information about what had most had done wrong. It was very clear that he wasn't going to make any friends here, but none the less Sho had demonstrated that when sober, there was nothing that could stop him. He had not even released Jinks in any of his fights, dismissing them all with a combination of CQC, and swordsmanship in a matter of minutes each. Standing there as the only truly capable recruit out of the twenty or so new recruits that had been picked for this squad made Sho feel a little good, but made him feel mostly bad. These people are suppose to be the shield and blade of Hinasho...if they can't even beat a drunkard who didn't even release his blade then what hope do they have. He thought to himself as he extended his hand to the last recruit he beat to pick him up from the ground. The recruit slapped his hand away and got up by himself, glaring at Sho with disrespect.

Sho chuckled, at least they had fire he supposed, and sometimes all it took was just that a burning fire deep down inside. The crowd around them were cheering, even a few instructors were cheering Sho on, and this caused him a bit of embarrassment as he leaned his head back giving a cocky grin to his admirers. That is when he noticed a Ganma emerge from the crowd and make its way to him, Sho sheathed Jinks, and stared bewildered at the weird creation as it made its way to him. For a few moments the two stared at each other in what some would call a showdown before the Ganma bowed and began to speak to him about the Queen. "The Queen wishes to speak with you, you have been deemed an important asset with potential to be a great help towards her goals, Sho Fuya", the Ganma said as the majority of the recruits gasped in surprise while other's cheered louder. Sho nodded his head, not giving the Ganma a single word as he began to leave the training ground while waving back at the squad he was leaving behind.

He wondered just what type of person the queen was and what sort of use she could have for a man of his talents, but none the less he was more than happy to oblige a lady. He had gotten into a great deal of trouble in the past for such things, but he was fine with that. After all this was a Queen he was about to go speak to, in fact he felt a tad bit under-dressed to be meeting a queen, and even worse he smelled of sweat and training. He hoped she would tolerate his presence for at least a while. After bringing him to what looked like a hut, a rather weird place for a Queen to find herself in, he found himself ushered inside of the hut, and into a small room where the Queen stood looking out of the window. The night moon illuminated her gorgeous body for him and he found himself mentally thinking of inappropriate things, but Sho straightened himself up, and took a deep breath. "Milady, Sho Fuya reporting for debriefing?", he asked in a confused tone as he had no clue where this conversation was going to go.

The moon light would subtly reflect off of Masami's skin, she stared at the moon as she waited for the Ganma to return. As Sho stepped in she saw that Masaru was standing quite gracefully, her dress very elegant and she looked as if she was glowing almost. She then heard Sho speak and she slowly turned to him and while she was nervous she smiled kindly to him and bowed to him respectfully as she spoke "Thank you for coming Mister Fuya, this isn't a debriefing...it's an offer, You seem to have experience with combat that not many here do, and those that do have experience are old and...I brought them out of retirement because I told them to belive in me,
while Micronesia might not be under my....our control yet, I still need generals and if you're willing I'd like to bestow upon you the rank of Royal General...and...admit I've gotten ahead of myself here..."
.
The queen that the ganma and old veterans had praised so much was opening her self up to a complete stranger, why? She didn't know the man at all,
she felt that maybe someone who knows how war works and how to actually fight like a day of battle is their last would be suited for the job but not a man or woman in their golden days. She accepted their help to train troops and she had a small force of her own ganma and her two generals, there was something else stirring inside her too...as if she could be stronger. She rose and stepped closer to Sho, her wine glass left at the window.

She looked him dead in the eye, while her eyes were soft and kind he could sense the seriousness and dedication as well as worry in her words. Masami had the noble qualities to get the job done but at the end of the day she was just one woman, and while they say that just one woman can make a difference she was far from being able to make a difference on her own. She was weak compare to others in the world and Sho would be the first of many soldiers to come to her and hopefully the first of many to stay with her. Loyalty was a trait few possessed, often bought for money or exchanged for something more important to the person.

Her Ganma however, they had a will of their own and while she had many in various locations around the country the few that were here protecting her were recent, she had created them for the sole purpose of bolstering her forces as the new troops arrived and were trained.
It was a stroke of luck that Sho was among them and with his guidance perhaps she could take the country with every little conflict. The current leader of Micronesia wasn't the greatest man, rather greedy but so far Masami had gained support from small resistance groups so...she felt the weight of her task push her down even more as she explained herself.

"You see...the ganma can only get me so far...and the blue one that brought you here, he's one two, his brother is further in the country attempting to gain some ground so that we don't need an out right war to claim the country, the leader of Micronesia isn't a kind man...but I don't want to take his life because of that, I want this to be a place of peace, a place where people can redeem themselves,
a place where I can awake every morning and say that there is no threat to the country...it's why I chose here, it's out of the way and too small to be considered a large enough asset...and I'm not that strong,
I can only do so much as well, I can spawn an army with time but I can't make them a relevant force...so I see my purpose as one to protect...not destroy"
. Masami's words seemed like she wanted to justify her reason for taking over the country but at the same time she was proving she was still human and in the eyes of many others of the other races and even other humans she was rather weak. She kept her gaze on Sho's eyes, she felt something about him would make him a great asset to her goal and maybe with time he could help many people call this place home.
