Eldrazi Titans

Song: Leaving Earth - Artist: Mass Effect 3 OST

Name: Eldrazi

Age: 0

Gender: Not Applicable

Personality: While the Eldrazi may seem out of this world as superior life forms, it is their personality that is simplest of all. They do not consider much, nor do they truly have any hidden agendas. Their entirety revolves around endless hunger and destruction. They are beasts, and thus have been tamed like them. Nozomi created these creatures and then dominated them, giving them purpose where they normally would lack it, giving them strategy where they would forsake it. Should the First Quincy die, they would revert to thoughtless killing machines who live to devour everything in sight, until yet again another was able to dominate them.

Appearance
Floating Variant:
Grounded Variant:

Tier: 0-2/0-3 — 4 count (2 of each variant)

Race: Not Applicable

Brief History: There's very little history to be had of a species that only set foot upon the living realms very recently. Nonetheless, the Eldrazi do have their origins. They were Nozomi's second real attempt at life; to create a true species beyond the living synthetics. She, aspiring to godship, wanted to achieve this as she assumed leadership of her nation. The name of this nation was Eldrazi, and thus she named her species after it. She started small, with small creatures that knew only hunger and growth, counting the mindless critters as successes. But already the First Quincy was thinking of far larger projects, leading up to the creation of the colossal Eldrazi Titans. Beyond spawning a race from nothing, Nozomi's goal was to create something that would hold others back from warring with her nation. She needed war deterrents of some sort, something to achieve what nuclear bombs had in the distant past. The titans were her answer—monstrosities of an entirely other level of anything else that had ever graced the living world. They would serve not only as a trophy to her achievement of creating true life, but as powerful war assets. Utopia would be preserved because the Eldrazi existed.

Associated Character: Nozomi Sumashuu

Basic Powers:

Dual LineageI believed in a beautiful god. But this is the true face of the divine... The Eldrazi Titans are split between two different variants, one flying and one grounded. While they possess most of the same powers, their are differences, and appear differently as well. The grounded variant move across the ground upon massive tentacles, and they possess the "Annihilator" ability. The flying variant of course has the ability to defy gravity and move through the air at will, instead possessing the "Torn Realms" ability. For either lineage, the Eldrazi's body is made of an otherworldly flesh, that seems soft and malleable, and yet also hardened and tough at the same time. Trying to pierce it is like trying to drill into the hardest layers of deep earth, which is especially difficult to push through considering the size of these monstrosities. They possess thirteen vital organs deep within that sustain its form and allow it to live. Should all of them be destroyed, the titan will fall, crashing into the ground like a meteor.

AnnihilatorStrategy? What strategy but destruction... The grounded versions of Eldrazi Titans are perhaps the largest living entities to exist in any realm, towering over cities as if they were just toy towns, with the largest even extending above the cloud layer a couple kilometers above the surface. With such size comes strength beyond strength. Eldrazi turn the land they walk upon to shambles, causing short earthquakes of 8.0 size on location with every step they take. Cities will fall and mountains will crumble in areas near the Eldrazi when they are moving about, and that's even without trying. Eldrazi who intend to fight with their gargantuan limbs are even more calamitous, taking out the strongest foundations with a single blow. Each strike is like a weapon of mass destruction in itself, possessing the strength of an ultimate attack a lesser being would use. Eldrazi limbs would tear through terrain and structures like they were sand castles, hardly feeling resistance. Fortunately for an Eldrazi's hopeless enemies, the Titans attack are fairly slow and can be easily evaded if they can escape the blast zone of each strike, though it's hard to keep safe when the radius of destruction for each blow is that of a nuclear warhead.

Torn RealmsNot a single spell had struck the floating monstrosity. Our powers were not worthy... The flying Eldrazi Titans are living fortresses, floating high in the sky where weaklings cannot touch it. The nature of these creatures force their enemies to usually attack from range, and yet even that is difficult, as the Eldrazi bend space quite easily. This is not redirection of attacks, and it does not even affect other attacks, and yet, it will appear as though one's projectiles will curve away from the Eldrazi. This is because of space being bent—the path is bent, and thus travelling straight means turning away. Everchanging is the space around the Eldrazi, making it extremely difficult to so much as touch it. Sometimes objects are ripped apart in an instant as the space it occupies is torn in half. Despite this, there are no actual barriers or powers being used to stop the attack in any way, meaning that it is still possible to push through if you can see the tides of space in order to plot the correct path. This power has a strange effect on the area around it, causing a gravity well that lifts random parts of the terrain off from the ground.

Blind EternitiesWhatever the Eldrazi's purpose, it has nothing to do with something so insignificant as us... Eldrazi Titans do not have eyes, and do not see as normal humans see. They see in two ways: Under the light of their native dimension, or by sensing the energies of powerful individuals. However, their scale has grown to such an enormous size that they don't even notice anything lesser than tier 1 any longer. It may be seen as an advantage, though more likely than not the Eldrazi would annihilate any such weaklings with mere collateral damage. As for those of tier 1 or tier 0, the Eldrazi Titans can sense them irregardless of their direction or orientation so long as they are not masking their spiritual presence. This sense extends a massive ten kilometers as well, making it easy for them to track their enemies.

Roots of the WorldeaterHave you ever killed insects nibbling at your crops? That's what the Eldrazi believe they're doing to us... One common feature shared by each of the Eldrazi titans is a grand array of tentacles, each counting as a limb of its own. These tentacles extend under them, and in addition to being able to smash most of anything that accidentally gets in its way to pieces, they act like the roots of a tree, draining all energy and life from the area that cannot resist its pull. Anything living that gets close to one of these tentacles will feel their essence being drained until they fall down and die completely, a process which will move even swifter the more tentacles in close proximity. This works the same even on the strongest of individuals, but at a slower rate, especially if they have methods of defending against this ability. However, there is no foolproof way to completely stop it besides being far away from the tentacles, for one's defenses will eventually be worn down by the draining process. This is because a defense against such a technique is inevitably powered by something, and the roots feed off of that power, stealing the source away. When it comes to more difficult tasks as breaking through such defenses or draining away the energy of sturdier individuals, it requires the attention and focus of the Eldrazi, usually requiring more than one tentacle at once, and perhaps even physical contact. The final capability of these appendages are that of being able to detect any individuals caught in the area of effect of their energy vacuum, even if they're concealing their presence or are below the Eldrazi's threshold of normal sight.

All Is DustThe scorn of the Eldrazi isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as you've lived a fulfilling and complete life... Eldrazi Titans breathe destruction and chaos. Where they go, annihilation follows in their wake. Should the beast will it, everything within its gaze would turn into but dust, for within their grasp they hold the key to a turbulent dimension. This nameless dimension, should its light so much as fall upon anything not native to it, will eradicate it wholly and without bias. Everything the light touches will turn to dust and be blasted away, whether it be the elements, energies, or the spiritual. The Eldrazi are able to open a rift to this dimension as they are native to it, and thus can direct the light as they wish upon their enemies. While the destruction will eventually break through any defense; it can be slowed, causing the light to take extra time if the material before it is incredibly dense or incredibly powerful. This could give time for the Eldrazi's foes to escape and hide, but if one allows it to touch their vulnerable flesh, then they will soon find themselves a pile of ash. This light shares much the same properties as light in terms of speed and behavior, so using translucent defenses are not a bright idea, while in turn reflective ones could affect the direction of the attack for as long as the mirror could handle it. Regarding the realm itself, it is a place where the Eldrazi Titans are able to move within, and acts as a medium should they wish to travel between realms, much like the Garganta.

Touch of MadnessYou will scream out your innermost secrets just to make it stop... The Eldrazi are entities of otherworldly matter, beyond the understanding of sane minds. Their very essence is that of dementia. Never should a person wish to be close to an Eldrazi Titan because of the risk of making contact with such a being. A single touch would be all it took to drive all but the strongest of minds to complete madness, making thought incoherent for as long as contact was maintained. Anything longer than a full post would cause the condition to become pseudo-permanent—able to be recovered from with advanced assistance or very powerful failsafes to recover the old mind. Simultaneously, the secrets of your mind would no longer be yours to keep, as they'd either be stolen from you and preserved within the Eldrazi monstrosities or otherwise erased, given enough time. Powers, on the same note, would be compromised on direct contact with Eldrazi flesh, temporarily. The effects of the Touch of Madness discombobulate thought, meaning that ascended forms and advanced techniques are practically impossible to maintain, and even the simpler techniques are difficult to aim properly and utilize. And of course, there would be unimaginable pain coursing through the victim's mind that would be able to convince a person they were damned to hell by itself. Despite these effects, those with stronger minds would be able to find a way to endure the pain and mental chaos, and focus; they could prevent their secrets from leaking out, but so long as contact remained the pain would not stop and it would only grow worse. The only issue is that it takes individuals with at least one Master or higher level in any of the Willpower, Pain Endurance, or Focus skills.

It That BetraysYour pleas for death shall go unheard... Those that fall before the colossal Eldrazi Titans are not granted any reprieve from battle until they consent. In fact, even if you are slain by another's hand while in the presence of an Eldrazi, you shall return to life under its spell of servitude. For as soon as your spark of live is eradicated, the Eldrazi's energy will trap your soul within your body and force you under its command, carrying out its will to the best of your ability. The revived being will be at the same strength it was as it died, using any abilities it could as well. However, it will be able to utilize the Eldrazi's energy in addition to its own, allowing it to freely use costly attacks without worry. Also, the revived is not invulnerable, just given a second life. Should they perish while under the Eldrazi's command, then their soul will be freed and their body turned to dust. Similarly, if the Eldrazi no longer has use for the body, such as when the fight ends, they will not keep it around, and let it befall the same fate.

WorldwakeThe land awoke to the presence of the Eldrazi, as if the world, too, recognized them as superior... Eldrazi do not care for this world in any way except for as food, or as a weapon. This is because they have the ability to manipulate the natural environment around them at will, whether it be shaping the lands and wildlife into a weapon, or simply throwing it around at their enemies. Almost as far as the eye can see from atop the Titans, the Eldrazi can forcibly move the elements: Earth, wind, fire, water, flora and fauna, natural metals. So long as these things are not created as part of another's powers, nor are manipulated by anyone else of equal or greater power, the Eldrazi can take ahold of them en masse.

BroodmotherThe brood spread far faster than we could kill it. I feel the worst has yet to come... While there are very few Eldrazi titans to exist, the Eldrazi as a whole are a vast species. The titans are broodmothers, the heads of their species, and all others descend from them. The life cycle of these broodlings proceed at an astonishing speed, as if they were created to become massive terrors from birth while in the middle of a war. It starts as a mere dog-sized blob of Eldrazi flesh, tearing away from one of the tentacles of the titans and then feeding off nearby energy. These blobs can grow small legs and skitter to other areas if they run out of energy in their current one, and they can also swarm and attack other living beings to achieve the same end, for their flesh sears at that of anything with a soul, and their limbs can pierce through metal. With the energy they take, they grow, and fast. These Eldrazi Broodlings start small but can grow to the size of skyscrapers, growing in strength at the same time. The Titans are able to spawn thousands of these, however they might not always want to, for the more there are, the slower they grow overall. So it depends on if the Titan wants a horde of many smaller broodlings, or simply a few massive ones.

The Broodlings share many features of their lineage, such as the same blindness. They can see with the light of their own dimension, or they can sense the energies of souls with decent power. Unlike their parents, however, they are not oblivious to the weaklings below tier 1 so long as they are spiritually aware. Additionally, these broodlings have no legs, and instead have tentacles they move about on, which is each a limb in its own right that can extend and lash out. As their primary attack, so long as they've achieved the size of an average human or greater, they can create condensed spheres of energy with the same destructive power of their chaotic dimension, turning the surface of anything the blast hits to dust—the softer the material, the easier it will be obliterated, while strong defenses could minimize the damage to something of a negligible scale. These spheres can be thrown, and will create explosions equal to twice the broodling's own size. They cannot, however, open a rift like the Titans can. Also in the Broodling's repertoire is the ability to muddle one's through by making physical contact with them, slowly driving a mind insane and causing them difficulty focusing on anything, while also inducing extreme mental pain; this requires a size twice that of a human being, however. Finally, if broodlings achieve the size of a small tower or beyond, they are granted the ability to manipulate the natural environment around them telekinetically, as though it were an extension of themselves. This can be earth, water, wind, plantlife, even animals, so long as they don't have an ability to resist the forced movement. Their range of control extends only 100 meters compared to their parents, however.

Broodlings die much like most living creatures, for they have vital organs at the core of their bodies and minds as well. They do not bleed however, and they do not feel pain. There also isn't much care for their own lives, meaning they lack caution and restraint. The larger they are, the harder it is to pierce their flesh, and the more of them that must be destroyed in order to take them down.

Deaf To PleasIt's difficult to outwit something that doesn't speak, strategize, or even think... While the Eldrazi may seem out of this world as superior life forms, their minds contrast that greatly. They do not consider much, nor do they truly have any hidden agendas. Their entirety revolves around endless hunger and destruction. They are beasts, and thus have been tamed like them. Nozomi created the Titans and then dominated them, giving them purpose where they normally would lack it, giving them strategy where they would forsake it. This is the only thing that holds them back from rampaging across the world, devouring everything in sight. It is also the only thing preventing others from taking control of them in her stead. For as long as Nozomi's influence persists, no lesser mind can intrude upon the thoughts of the Eldrazi. They are mostly immune to any mental attacks, and they do possess emotions of intelligent thoughts of their own to use against them. They are lacking any form of mercy or understanding unless it is gien to them.

Not Of This WorldHerein lies your problem; you thought that the Eldrazi could be slain... While known as titans of utter annihilation, these Eldrazi can be just as cogent at protecting themselves. They utilize their strange magics to produce a free-form barrier from thin air, capable of being forged in any shape as desired. One solid element makes up the whole of this barrier—a foggy colorless liquid that appears like water suspended in time, only moving as the Eldrazi directs it or an attack hits it. This element is summoned away from the flesh, never contacting the Eldrazi at any point, so that offenses upon it are kept safely at a distance. However, this means that if an attack makes it within a certain distance of the titan or is melee, then this barrier cannot be utilized to protect the Eldrazi. It is hard to describe what exactly this barrier is; it's like a layer of crumpled space, compressed so tightly that seeming thinness of it would take light almost a minute to reach the entire side. Not only that, but the strange element that permeates this wrinkled space also resists the concept of moment strongly. It would resist the movement of projectiles trying to break through, attempting to bring it to a full stop in momentum. Even the various particles would slowly be decelerated to Absolute Zero, snuffing out the energy and heat of it, making it likely that any attack entering the barrier would fizzle out. Whatever attack made against it would not crash into this defense or be reflected, but rather absorbed into the space. Weak attacks would merely be absorbed, but stronger attacks would attempt to make it all the way through to the other side while battling against the intense resistances within. If it didn't make it in time, the Eldrazi could easily take down the barrier and send the captured attack off into an undesignated point of space far off. A titan is only be able to put up one barrier at a time, so this would leave them vulnerable for a short time while they took care of it.

Door To NothingnessThe barest taste of Eldrazi power shatters both realms and identities.... As aforementioned, there is a nameless dimension distant from any known planes, home to the Eldrazi, and perilous to all others; Its mere light sears matter away in seconds, and no other object has the capability to sustain itself under it. In this dimension, this light permeates every point of space brightly—there is no gravity, no matter, nothing but light. While the Eldrazi can open a rift up to bring this destructive light into other dimensions... it would be much more effective to bring victims into their world where they would burn much much faster. For this, they focus upon a single point that they can see for one post, and open up a singularity there of which the core is a wormhole to that dimension. It's like a lesser black hole, sucking each and every object within a kilometer toward that center with a potent force, while it pull falls off drastically past that radius. Within this area, the land would be torn asunder as it was sucked into the singularity, and when it surpassed the point of no return at around fifty meters, it would be spaghettified and collapse into the single infinitesimal point at the center, before being transported into the Eldrazi dimension. This singularity cannot be fired and forgotten, as the titan must continue concentrating and devoting its energy to holding it together. Additionally, it cannot be moved once summoned. Its pull does not effect Eldrazi.

The Five CoresEach wound upon the titans are worthy of a feast... but we simply won't have the luxury of such thing... Five cores, five hearts, five organs that must be destroyed to slay the beast. Each Eldrazi Titan has thirteen lives contained within their shells, located in different areas for each one so that it is always difficult to even find them. And even if four are destroyed, the Titan can fully function off of the remaining one, for each has the capability to support its whole. The rest are simply back-ups. It is because these hearts need to sustain the Eldrazi Titan that they contain such massive reserves of energy, energy released when they are destroyed. When one of these cores are put to rest, a devestating shockwave is released from the Eldrazi that violently thrusts everything else away from it at rapid speed, as if a small moon had smashed into them. If this force would cause a cataclysmic effect on the land that a meteor would, then the damage it would cause to a mere person is inconceivable. Thankfully, the shockwave only expands outward for a couple hundred meters away from the Eldrazi before the force dissipates. However, the shockwave will still continue for another five kilometers, for there is a second effect to it: As it passes through objects, it nullifies their momentum and dissolves energy, bringing everything to a stop. It is essentially a reset button that removes any effects whether ill or well, stops all fights, and interrupts any action, forcing it all to restart. While it is a good way for others to know when a Core has been destroyed, this pulse makes it extremely difficult to continue the offensive. Taking out multiple Cores at once is nearly an impossibility.

  • Tier: This is an excerpt from Roots Of Worldeater: "However, there is no foolproof way to completely stop it besides being far away from the tentacles, for one's defenses will eventually be worn down by the draining process."

If I am to take this correctly, it is impossible to stop this technique? If so, I'd ask that you reword it to something along the effect of being "highly difficult" to stop, but not impossible. As a personal rule I have is that I don't generally allow things that cannot be stopped on the site if I'm aware of it.

Additionally, the power itself is fine since I have something similar to it with one of my characters, but I feel with the extent of these creatures power, I'd want this to be an active ability rather than a passive. That is to say they'd need to tap into their energy a bit to use it and focus on it, as opposed to it just automatically going into effect.

So, as I saw All To Dust, I have the same problem here: "While the destruction cannot be stopped, it can be slowed, causing the light to take extra time if the material before it is incredibly dense or incredibly powerful."

I'm not saying it should be loleasy to stop, as this sounds like a pretty heavy hitting attack. However, I cannot allow something to be unstoppable and I will have to ask you to reword both of those things in these powers under this rule:

"Absolute Powers: When it comes to powers that are unavoidable, unstoppable, uncounterable or otherwise invincibile; we will not allow those. An example of this would be making an offensive ability that has the ability to send a wave of fire at the opponent and they cannot move out of the way, defend against it, counter it or seal it. There may be instances on the site, however, where we allow them for plot with admin approval. Such as to speed an event along, we may allow an action to take place to seal off the range where this event is taking place to prevent from any new intruders without proper explanation as to how they got their."

"A single touch would be all it took to drive all but the strongest of minds to complete madness, making thought incoherent for as long as contact was maintained. Anything longer than several seconds would cause the condition to become permanent. Simultaneously, the secrets of your mind would no longer be yours to keep, as they'd either be stolen from you and preserved within the Eldrazi monstrosities or otherwise erased, given enough time. Powers, on the same note, would be disabled on direct contact with Eldrazi flesh, temporarily. And of course, there would be unimaginable pain coursing through the victim's mind that would be able to convince a person they were damned to hell by itself."

Firstly, the whole seconds thing should be converted to post. That is because it is rather hard to gauge time throughout post on the site, but posting-period is something more objective and more fair. So I'd be fine if it was something like: "Anything longer than one post, and the condition MAY become permanent"

Additionally, under the Absolute Rule, I'm under the belief that this ability should allow for those with willpower to fight back against it. That is because this falls under the nature of mental powers and why that system was made. So it can attempt to mess with their minds, but to keep things fair, if one should be able to have a chance to either fight back or lower how much it can affect them.

I'm also not keen on the whole permanent thing going on with this. I'm fine with it being a long-term thing, but I'd stray away from causing permanent mental damage until the subject is entirely helpless and unable to defend themselves.

Lastly, I don't get the power thing. You are saying that if a power makes contact with the flesh of this creature, its automatically disabled? That sounds...not approvable. I don't understand the process of it, it looks to be automatic and there isn't really anything you can do about it. I'd either remove it, or revise with more detailed capacities of what it can do, balance it out and so on.

The Worldwake power is fine as well, but I'd want something along the lines of an energy limit with these creatures when it comes to that manipulation. As I'd figure some form of mental, physical or spiritual exhaustion would set in if they were constantly morphing giant hunks of the land to their whim.

"They can create condensed spheres of energy with the same destructive power of their chaotic dimension, turning anything it touches to dust. These spheres can be thrown, and will create explosions equal to twice the broodling's own size"

Again, under the broodling thing, apply the Absolute Rule to that.

So make those adjustments and post again.

Done pretty much everything you said to do.

Regarding the Roots of the Worldeater, it is counterable by not being in close proximity to the tentacles, as each of them are underneath the Eldrazi and don't particularly move fast. So you could keep your distance or attack from above. It's definitely counterable, so long as you're not wading into the tentacles like some kind of bad hentai scene.

Regarding All is Dust, sort of the same thing—the best strategy is basically not to get hit. It's harder yes, but then I did change the wording around a bit. It's not supposed to instamelt all defenses, just eventually make its way through in due time, so that you can't just stand still forever.

Regarding Worldwake, that goes under a logical rule of everything that this creature does requires energy. They all contribute to eventual exhaustion. Of course, the Eldrazi has methods of gaining energy back if allowed to, but all these abilities drain from a finite reserve. Worldwake is no exception. So I just use common sense instead of writing "this requires energy to use" on every ability.

Everything else ish fixed.

« The Willsheet Checklist »

• And Comments/Fixes •

  • Willpower/Determination: N/A
  • Mental Deduction: N/A
  • Pain Endurance: N/A
  • Focus: N/A

  • Comments/Notes: N/A

  • Tier: I am reducing the amount to about four, and two of each variant. This is because they're pretty much 0-2's and I'd rather that number be lower for such a thing.

Additionally, the second of each variant will be 0-3 and will be able to power up to 0-2 when they are against a threat that warrants it.
