Taking a deep breath, Henrex sighed as he silently walked across the currently empty lands of Vastime. It wasn't common for it to be empty, but it certainly wasn't rare, either. Today was just one of those days. It was this silence that was causing his mind to be much more active than usual, thoughts of what had happened, and what was to come. It was nothing short of pure, utter chaos. Stepping into the cafe of the Wolf, The Tundra, Henrex softly tapped on the frame of the doorway
"Knock knock," The male said quietly, before stepping in.
"Probably not a face that you want to see, but...just listen to me for at least five minutes. Does that sound ok?"(edited)

Mirja was doing prep work. A lot more work than it used to be, but then so was everything in the world it seemed. Rolling towards the backroom with a pile of dirty plates, the door opened, and before she had finished spinning around, the voice rang out. A voice that made her soul frown. So Henrex quickly got a plate thrown at him, whizzing through the air with precision that had not been lost in the slightest by the explosion. And should that plate be dealt with, then there was a second hidden in the shadow of the first. The Shadow Shuriken Technique, replicated with plates. And that rose the question of what the Wolf was doing with Ninja tricks
"I would see the rotting, maggot infested cadavar of Caanan before I saw you. What do you want?"

Sighing, before his arms moved upwards, swiftly catching both plates with each hand -- feeling a blood vessel break in the process -- before looking at them. A smudge on one of them. Taking the end of his cloak and softly rubbing the plate clean, before stacking the two plates on top of one another, then stepping into the backroom, setting the dishes next to him, before looking at her current state, then looking at the dirty plates that she was cleaning.
"You look like you could use some help." He stated before handing the two plates that she had thrown at him back to her. "These ones are clean."
Creating a stool behind him, before sitting down, Henrex looked at the Wolf, having looked over the wheelchair that she was in multiple times now.
"A corpse is more enjoyable than me?" He mumbled, before shrugging. "I just wanted to thank you...and apologize -- for a lot."
"I want reconciliation, Mirja."

Mirja glared at him as her plate ploy failed, and just rolled ino the backroom to fill the sink up
"I'm fine. I don't need anything remotely resembling help" She told him, dropping the plates into the water and looking up to him "Caanan knows me about me than you do. Plus, wouldn't give me strange, sudden and entirely out of the blue love confessions, nor try to guilt trip me into accepting said confession by telling me his tragic backstory, nor completely miss the point and just be a whiny bitch in response to someone telling him to stop being a whiny bitch"
Mirja turned to the water, grabbed a cloth, and started on the dishes "Just know if I could, I would be punching you in the face right now. But that's out of my hands, so you''ll have to settle for a mean glare"

Stubborn as ever. Watching her glare at him, before denying his request for help, repeating the same lines that she loved spitting out every single time. Sighing, before putting a hand to his face, his face turning red as she did repeat the same mundane, Henrex lowered his hand, seeing that she had now turned towards the water.
"What happened to you, Mirja?" He asked, his gaze softening as he crossed his arms.

"Shit got fucked. I tried to unfuck it. Shit got triple-fucked. And then I went boom. Ka-fricking-boom. Honestly though, I am surprised you came here on your own two feet. Didn't go explode and get a wheelchair yourself. With your lock of mimicing my every move, I was sure that'd be something you'd do"

"I know that I did a lot of regrettable things back then, a lot of which I'm...really embarrassed and ashamed of myself for, but that's beside the point." He said, before looking at the soap water.
'You're gonna regret this.' Kyoki chimed in.
'I can't really make this any worse, can I?'

Mirja let out a giggle at the idea of him following everything she did
"Yea, dead for one. An Asesino de lobo Cero would make a proper mess of your pretty face. To say nothing of having to go toe-to-toe with an Atlas, without your magic ninja crap" She carried on doing the dishes while Herex talked, and then looked back up at him "I don't hate you, Henrex. The people I hate, and six foot under. Unless your Caanan, then I guess you are more about, what...eighty five foot under? The point is, if I really hated you, you'd be dead. Regeneration wouldn't save you from my Tundra Lotus. As for trying to be a friend, why?"
She rolled back from the sink and shook her hands off, faster than most humans could hope to shake hands. While her strength was shot, she barely had posthuman durability, and she couldn't even walk, Speed was who she was "When you had Azela, I felt pretty safe to be your friend. But then you let what is literally condensed evil talk you out of that. So now why do you want to be a friend?"

Henrex had to agree with Mirja at that point. If he had followed everything she did, he would probably be dead...several times over. Watching her turn and wring her hands off, Henrex's eye twitched in sadness at the mention of Azela, before his eyes closed
"A lot of reasons. Namely because I'm not the same person that I was before. I've done a lot of thinking, and a lot of contemplating. I suppose, if anything else, because I just want to be kind."

But honestly, if all your thinking, and contemplating has let you here just to be kind, then it can lead you right out the door again because I don't need half-arsed two-bit bullshit sympathy. My life has not had a gaping Henrex-shaped hole that was so needing to be filled. A valid reason and a good explaination why I should trust you not to send me another letter so soppy it's a miracle the thing stayed in one piece, then I'll listen. As Mirja was speaking, there was a loud groan that came from the back of Henrex's mind, before he put a hand to his face, pinching the bridge of his nose. To this, two voices spoke simultaneously as Henrex opened his mouth, one of them being Henrex's own, along with a much older voice, sounding as if it was speaking through a filter.
"It's so difficult to work under these conditions."
"You want a reason why you should trust me not to send another letter like that? It's simple, Mirja."
His eyes opened, glaring daggers at the wolf
"I don't love you. I care for you as a friend, and comrade. Nothing more, nothing less."
He would then stand, before allowing the stool to dissipate
"I didn't do this to give you sympathy, nor was this what all my thinking and contemplating came to. As I said, there's many reasons why I did this."

Mirja looked up at Henrex, and flicked her eyebrows. He really had changed. By this point he'd usually be brooding and trying to fling tragic backstories at her. It made her smirk at the fact that the Raven had actually grown a bit. His two-voice trick was interesting, but then Henrex had so many things under his belt it didn't faze her these days
"Well, good. Then we are friends. Now, did you come here for the cafe part of the cafe, or the Mirja part of the cafe?" Mirja was rather blunt and sudden with the whole affair. As if that was literally the only problem that stood in the way of the two. But then everything about Mirja was blunt and sudden, and if Henrex was surprised by that, he was not paying attention

Sighing in relief, Henrex found a large amount of his stress dissipating, softly rubbing his eyes as a result of this. However, the next thing that she said was indeed blunt and sudden but that was Mirja. He knew that about her. But, the second part to what she had just was what caused him to be confused. But, he went with it, allowing both his question and answer to flow into what he would say next.
"Well, if the 'Mirja part' is talking to you, then I'd say both. "

As cute a her Maid's Uniform was, that was what the apron was there for, after all "Ok, then go sit down and order something. "...Wolf Surprise? I'm guessing that's something reserved for certain people...?" The male questioned, before tilting his head in confusion, unsure of what she was even talking about.
But, the incentive not to ask was him getting chased down by a mech of some sort that the Vanguard had recently finished. So, with an eyebrow raising in suspicion at what she had said, Henrex just waved his hand.
"Well, I won't press into...whatever a 'Wolf Surprise' is." He said, before his body disappeared, reappearing on the shadow of a chair as he took off the cloak, folding it twice over, then sitting down, exhaling quietly.
*'That went a lot better than I thought it would.' He thought.
'At least your used your brain before your mouth. You had to rethink what you were going to say ten fucking times before you actually said it, Nōtarin.' Kyoki commented.
'Are you going to help, or are you just going to be a bother?' Henrex said, rolling his eyes at the painfully obvious fact that he had come up with.
Silence. At least that shut him up.

"Actually, it's a drink anyone can get. But it is a surprise, and I would have to be surprising, and you would whine because of the surprise. And I don't want to listen to you whine" Mirja was a girl who never spared anyone's feelings when it came to what she thought about a person or current situation
And then, a few minutes later, Mirja came out of the backroom. Out of the scrubs she used for after-hours cleaning, she was in an immaculate uniform, with a black skirt down to her ankles, and a white apron covering half of that. Soft, frilled silk made up the uniform, and she even had the head-piece to go with it. Clearly, this dress was of such a calibre it would reach a price nearing what the shop made in a week

While it was only a few minutes, Henrex had found the time useful to read a few pages of "A Book of Five Rings". A book that had slowly become ever more of his fascination as he sought out to learn more from one of his now deceased master. The quotes and lines that had been intwined with the writings of Musashi had captivated his mind more than ever. Again, even if it had only been a few minutes, he still found the time to squeeze in his reading. So, when Mirja exited the backroom, now in a new, immaculate uniform, Henrex nodded once.
"Raspberry tea, please."
