Artist: N/A - Song: filament ~TV size~ - Word Count: N/A

[Tier is assumed to be around 4-5]

Divinity.....what was it anymore? The shell which was Khala's original heart had melted away from her grasp and she was thrust into this world once more as but a shadow of her former self. Memories were restored, stability was gathered, but yet her body felt so weak. Trying to recall her powers, abilities and grandiose capacity to outright obliterate the Soul Society itself with a wave of her hand were just distant memories. She had nothing anymore.

To return back to her temple of Khalaism in this form? Suicide. Either primal essence of Pharista would slaughter her where they crossed paths to ensure her love never again claims Devata's heart, or she would be met with utter disgrace with her pitiful her state of being had become since she allowed that thing to claim her power and being.

To go back to the other realm worlds to seek safety? Dangerous just as well. She could never live down what had occurred during the events of Demonic Incursion. The Living Realm and Soul Society alike would skewer her the instant she'd show her face there. And without her divine prowess to shield her? That was certain death or torture. Yet, even in Demon World, she wasn't safe; but this felt the most like home.

And so -- she wandered.

Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks and time soon began to run into a blur. Through deserts, mountains, sea, and forest; against rain, heat, cold, snow and ice did Khala wander. All the time, without that power to keep her safe, the fallen goddess had to wonder if this sense of defenseless is how her former followers felt. Is the type of powerlessness that those at the mercy of her power at its peak felt when opposed against her divine authority? To truly be nobody, be lost and without brought forth equal parts terror and freedom.

Without being the avatar of The Demon God's Heart, this version of Khala was forced to ponder who she was without that divinity, worship, and power at her side. Free from the insanity, depravity, and hunger for eradication that her former body wielded; all the woman had was the faint ember of affection which burned within her spirit as she thought of that single feeling of love she yielded for those who shared her organic extract.

...

But no answers came despite this.

How could they?

Khala was alone. All that was with her at this time were her own thoughts and the lingering feeling of debt to repay Iriko for the sacrifice he made to keep her insatiable lust and hunger in check. Add to the fact that she was exposed to the elements, and all that was on her mind was making it through another day to endure.

Thus, she continued to wander deeper into the abyss of The Vicara Nation until the woman eventually stumbled over in a pit of sand on a hot summers day. If one were to come across her in this state, it would be daunting to the see woman adorned in only a long black garment with her unkempt aqua hair and beaten face. She was exhausted, weak and lost; so the woman let out a gruff groan as she closed her eyes and began to let these feelings of lost overwhelm her spirit once more.

Who would she become with this new life? Could she regain new power? Or was this all just a farce before her karma caught up and ceased her existence once and for all? Khala wasn't a goddess at this time, so she lacked the knowledge and foresight to see that conclusion. All she could do was find comfort in the darkness of her closed slumber and wait for a signal from fate itself to possibly save her......

Artist: Undertale OST - Song: Your Best Friend - Word Count: 914

Inami was someone who . . had a lot on her mind these days. Even as the realm around her blurred and she shot across it’s confines like a comet cut loose from its orbit her mind continued to wander. Inami’s two-toned hair whipped behind her like a stream as the crisp sensation of the soundless wind passed by her ears. Approximately three seconds behind her was the tailwind of noise that would blast out as she had broken the sound-barrier multiple times.

However. . as inami’s eyes took in the realm around her she honed in on something that was. . familiar. It was a sensation she had resigned herself to not feel again for a very. . very long time. ”. . Sister?” Inami’s body did an almost 90 degree turn instantly in the air, causing the very earth beneath her to explode forth in clouds of dust as her body continued to accelerate like a homing rocket. This illusive feeling, this familiar feeling it spurred her to surpass the limitations of what she normally could do to arrive at her sisters location in less than the blink of an eye, less than the time it would take to register her coming at all as she landed on the ground.

What greeted her was not what she expected. Her sister, so powerful, so mighty, so wonderful and benevolent. What . . . had happened to her!?! Inami’s feet trodden on the cool, hard demonic earth beneath her feet as she crossed the gap in seconds. Her sister looked like a sneeze could blow her away. Her sister. . her sister. Inami’s limbs would find themselves coiled around Khala as she brought her lost sister back into her embrace. All the ache at what had happened to her family, first neoveta, then mana’s madness, and finally Khala was here, weakened. . beyond weakened it was like she was but a shadow of her former self. As if she was merely a fragment that was going to be blown away in the wind.

For the first minute or so, Inami did not speak. She merely listened to the breathing, smelled her sisters scent, and heard her sisters still-beating heart. At first there was only the relief of her sister being here, of her sister being somewhere she could reach her once more. The queen of brutes at this moment simply didn’t have the words to express what she wanted to ask. She had so many questions, she had so SO many questions for her sister. There had to be a million and two of them bouncing around in her head until she looked at her and noticed once more how weak she was.

”..what. . happened to you. . sister?”

Inami’s voice was soft, and halting. As if this was but a mirage that would vanish if she blinked. As she drew Khala in and rested her chin on her sisters shoulder, feeling the rise of her chest, making sure that her sister would not just abandon her once more, she could feel it in her chest. The anger at this realm, the anger that her sister, such a proud and magnificent being was here. Inami could feel the lack of power that once lurked in her sisters chest. Her sister had been the strongest amongst them, only recently eclipsed by the near deitific being of chaos, her sister Mana Asthavon. She had been the voice of reason to them, and now what had happened to her!?!

If Khala knew anything about her sister she’d know that inami was about to embark on a warpath. This was not the malevolent being of Dysnomia speaking no, this was the nature of inami’s root. Pure insanity. Inami valued very few things in this world. Her sisterhood was amongst the top of them. So to see her sister here, like this was almost too much for her to accept. Inami had all this power, but time and time again she had failed to protect them, her sisters. She had failed Khala, She had Failed Neoveta. Then there were her friends. She had Failed Tsubasa, She had Failed Tsubasa’s Children, She had Failed even her own child ninsun. What was the use of power when she Could not protect them?

This realm . . it was unforgiving and cruel. Inami could not. . stand by and let this happen anymore. . . which was why as she spoke once more, her voice sounded even more resolved than it once was. Coming out slow and steady.

”What. . happened? “

So... Freaking... HOOOOT!

Umbra was not the happiest of campers when they were suddenly awake in a sun-baked, miles long desert... In summer. It was truly odd, they didn't remember coming here, nor did they remember Lux doing anything to come here. Everything was just.. Blacked out until they stirred. It wasn't like Lux would even be awake enough to do anything... The Danava's other half had been spending most of her time in lethargy within the Conceptual World, bundled up in their Eternal Partner's fur. Umbra was worried, but something compelled them to get up and do things anyway.

And boy, did they hate that feeling with a burning passion.

Nevertheless, they were in a strange place, feeling like they were on fire, with no idea of where to go or what was even around... Of course til they caught a sensation, overhead... Their colorful eyes looked to the sky, seeing a figure moving at blinding speeds, a figure who's energy... Felt a lot like Mama's.

Were they an Asthavon?

Calypso gritted their teeth, soon sighing. If they didn't get their attention then they were going to be stuck out here for a while... They reaaally did not want to, but they had to...

Don't be crazy, don't be crazy... They silently prayed, attempting to run after them.

"H-hey! Wait! D-"

Being met with a giant cloud of sand... Not good for one's throat, even without an obvious mouth. If they had tonsils, they definitely were stuffed with sand and dirt and whatever other debris was in this place. The Danava coughed and spluttered as they saw they had taken a different course, of course they weren't nearly as fast, but they formed tendrils, the appendages acting as extra, much longer legs.

Don't.. Act.. Up. The lot of you. They internally cursed to their collection of pseudo-consciousnesses.

The demon had begun running in the direction the flying being had taken, long strides and relatively quick movement soon lead them to two beings, withdrawing their tendrils as they stood a little ways away, ducking down as low as they could on... Well, a flat terrain.

...Am I dumb? They could just sense i'm here...

Regardless, they tried to get a read on the situation; the woman with two toned hair, who Cali presumed was flying, was holding a rather beaten and dreary looking woman. The two toned woman, was the one Cali could vaguely put two and two together, by description alone. They recalled the descriptions of her closest family members, and the woman very much fit a miss Inami Asthavon. Calypso wasn't totally sure of who the green haired lady was, but there was a bit of familiarity, along with hearing Inami calling her "sister"...

Even if she's my aunt, she could absolutely waste me... Do I really want to do this?
Their colorful eyes narrowed to a squint, ...Well running away is pointless as of now, isn't it?

They approached the two women, their quivering, many eyed figure easily giving away their fear, as they "dusted" off their dress, mumbling for the culmination of their being to stop quivering.

"...So. Ehm... Hello, there." Cali slowly brought up a pale hand, "I see that... Things are not going too well for you two.. And myself." They coughed up another puff of sand, "I... Am lost. But... She looks like she's having a harder time than me." Calypso pointed a black clawed hand at the woman, "I can try healing her, if anything... I just want to get out of the sun... I feel gross."

Dead Divinity [Khala] [Open For Serious Plot/Interaction] [Reflection Mission] 6EdIfMt

Artist: N/A - Song: Infinite Nightmare - Word Count: N/A

Rest is the only thing Khala yearned for. If only for a few moments, the husk of a woman desired to sleep away the blinding glare of this bright nightmare which was her present reality. Yet, instead, the woman awoke to the sounds of two creatures encroaching upon her sense of inner solitude. When arising to her senses, however, the first demonic entity that approached was familiar. Even in her battered and bruised state, the demoness understood that this Asthavon cared deeply for her for one reason or another. Therefore, despite being in such a weakened state, a hostile reaction was not required to deal with The Chaya Queen.

In spite of that, one thing did irritate the freshly woken Khala.

It was a question that was asked multiple times: "What happened?"

...

There was no way that Khala could surmise all of that with words. The woman would run out of breath and brain power trying to think of ways to even condense what had happened to her. Thus, instead, the weakened creature of fallen divinity scrambled what was still remaining of her power to produce a sphere of white light. When this cluster of energy formed that spherical shape, it sunk into the ground in order to create a large circle around the three demons. After doing this, the memories of Khala crashed into the minds of whoever stepped into this domain.

Dead Divinity [Khala] [Open For Serious Plot/Interaction] [Reflection Mission] So7v2ww

(Visual of Pharista)

Despite her consciousness still being hazy, the most important memories were still intact. With these recollections of her mind secured, they'd begin to recall the Black World infection consuming the depths of Khala's heart and mind. This vile substance awakened the inner nature of her primal essence, pushed the essence of this avatar of The Demon God's heart into the abyss and re-awakened the original state of being which both his heart and mind were toward the beginning of their creation. As this transformation took place, the immense suffering her heart, a yearning for destruction and utter hate for this existence grew to a point where she sought to extract her vengeance on the man who caused her heart to swell with love: Iriko Crow.

It is there, in the final circle of hell, where she slaughtered him over multiple timelines, dimensions, and universes until she eradicated the raw structure of his soul, forced him into demonic-hood after slaughtering the man and cutting her ties with that sense of warmth she once felt for this world. In this symbolic gesture, the woman wanted to be free of these mortal attachments, irrational feelings and be restored to the true demonic god she was. Thus, by killing and sealing his demonic soul in hell, she'd be released from these constraints her humanoid shell possessed.

Things in this universe, unfortunately, never fully go according to plan. That sense of death, decay, contempt, and negativism which brewed within the woman's overwhelmed her reality and this new version of Khala was far too much for her old avatar to take. Thus, the woman's subconscious desired to free her from this fate by spending the next two years piecing together enough energy to forge this weakened body and restart her life fresh from that attachment.

".....now do you understand?"

Those raspy, cold and dry words were the only thing to come out of Khala's mouth to the both of those demons as she slowly rose and looked down on each of them with a deadened stare; as if the soul had been taken right out of her eyes.

"That thing, Pharsita, is still me. I still possess those feelings even in this form, but I still exist as a part of me did not wish for Iriko to have suffered in such a way and I only want to recorrect a wrong I made. In the form I took, I could not do that."

Moving her gaze toward the sight of the smaller of the two, The Mother of Khalaism set her sights on the creature and simply told her these words:

"You cannot ever fully heal me. Not emotionally, not spiritually or mentally. The best you can hope to do is heal whatever physical exhaustion I have, give me your energy to feed off of and wait for my new power to be born."

It was in that moment that Khala tightened the grip on her fist, scowled and made this assertion:

"Something in me needed to die so something new could be born. What I have lost is not permanent, so I will birth a new sense of power that is not reliant on that child of Deveta. I will recreate Khalaism and face the reality he couldn't..."

Following those words, the woman proceeded to punch herself so hard in the face that her nose and mouth started dripping freshly drawn blood. No, she wouldn't die from something like this, her essence was far more resilient than that. Instead, she needed to wake up and recall this reality.

"I closed my heart, kept it distant and ran from everything to the point where I lost myself in the abyss. I could not face reality then, so I created this world to lock myself in and hide. I was a coward that does not deserve any redemption, forgiveness or help. But...."

An eruption of aqua energy started to flow back into the woman as she tried to form this new sense of personal reality within herself. Repeating again and again and again the mantra: "what is lost cannot be ever fully destroyed"; the gears were churning in her spirit as that old sense of divinity was long gone, but that did not mean the reality for a new version of herself could not be born. Reflecting back on the Asthavon's, Sunshine, Neoveta, Khalaism, the love she had for demon world and the way her heart was changed by Iriko; those feelings still meant something for it. And the sacrifices made to her from all those whom followed the goddess to their graves.....would not be for nothing.

"...I want to act. They all gave their lives to me, and yet I couldn't do a single thing. I did nothing and watched as myself and this world decayed...."

....

"...and I have to ask myself: do I really feel nothing for a place I gave all my love to.......? Do I really want to destroy that?"

...

"Their love, their grief, their worship...my infinite selfishness made all that value become reduced to nothing."

At this point, there were tears streaming down her faces, but she still held on to that scorn, that anger, that loathing and all the things which morphed her into that whimpering creature who couldn't even release what her heart wanted. And as this intense surge of emotions surged to the surface, blue tendrils extended from the woman's ankles, back and chest until they connected to what appeared to be a spherical piece of blue organic flesh. With this sphere in her hand, the woman held it and concluded on this:

"...I can't....keep running. I can't keep ignoring it. I can't....leave my heart closed. If not for myself, but for them and Iriko....I will try to open my heart again...."

...

There was silence before the sound of a gashing slice erupted admist the mute sound. In that moment, the woman tore open her heart, unveiled the abyss within it and the sight of a lone green pupil gazed down at the bloodied sand before it wheeping as it was brought back to life in this reality to face the terror it once ran away from with every bit of delusion and godly power it possessed......

Artist: Sage Francis - Song: Blue - Word Count: 900

Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap taptaptaptaptaptaptap…

Beat after beat, instant after instant, the feeling of travel filled the man's ears. His head was lost in thought, continuing to scour the land around him. He was deeply disturbed. Profoundly so. The report had come in some time before - the Vicara Nation. Why there? Why…? Foot pushed against sand as the man raced across the desert sands, the feeling pounding in his head. His thoughts drifted back to the previous day…

* * *

More chaos. More devastation. Less peace. Is there enough time for us to recruit? Is it possible for us to…? These people need help. Sunshine had been doing what he could, moving about the demon settlements that housed places of rest for Khalaists, as well as ones that did not. He had crossed the Demon World, preaching, spreading his warm smile and revitalizing abilities. And I love them all. Believers and not.

During one of his pilgrimages, his head laying down to rest in the home of a nonbeliever who had taken him in for the night… he had begun his nightly prayer. Prayer slowly came into sleep. His entire body felt unpleasant; he had not had time to 'rest' for four days. His body felt weak, but he could not stop. He had to keep going.

They needed him.

And I need them, as well. The last thoughts before drifting away into uneasy slumber… before he could feel the warm tickle down the back of his head. The sands exploded out beneath him, something much different than his normal night terrors. "…Mo-" A picture of an exhausted woman, her mouth dribbling bits of red, had appeared before him, before vanishing once again.

Sunshine's entire body had ripped out of his bed, radiating with power and spiritual force. He did not care if he was heard any longer. Normally, he would have moved to the edge of the encampment before performing shunpo, but he refused to wait. Standing outside of the door, the swhoop noise echoed from his body as he shot outwards. His tired eyes were alive with light, his marshmallow hair streaming around his head as he covered mile after mile after mile…

* * *

"…Divinity." Sunshine's body hung low, his sandals pushing into the sand as he then hung back, bursting forth towards where he had finally felt it. So weak. So very weak. Our Goddess… I pray you're safe.

His ears heard what was happening before he arrived. He overexerted himself, turning to a walk as his legs screamed at him. His eyes were downcast, his pure-white hair concealing them from view as he trekked along the sand. Finally, the words started coming to him. His legs strained, his will exerting itself. He finally removed the jacket from his body, flinging it into the air as he jerked forwards….

A half-swhoop noise filled the area as a burst of sand shot up near Khala's body. Where the disturbance had emanated from, a single figure appeared in the sand. The taste filled his tired mouth, his knees having trouble standing. …Ah… The words of his Goddess poured over his body, as he prostrated himself before her.

"…Your… Archbishop…. Is… here… my Goddess…"

The last words she got out happened as he tried to gasp that out, his voice little more than a whisper. The barebacked man knelt there in the desert sand, his gaze looking up at her. "…Please…!" His head slammed back into the ground, her son openly sobbing as he became absolutely overwhelmed with emotion. For me, to…!

Day after agonizing day. Trying to mitigate what that …creature… had done with their people. Pain and suffering; keeping the smile while knowing things were falling apart. Forcing things to remain together. That thing holding the position of their Goddess… She wasn't supposed to come back, that thing, THAT THING SHOULDN'T BE HERE, NO MORE, no more, please, no more… no… He was at his wits end; it all came to the surface. I can't… I can't, I'm too weak. I'm… I'm too weak! Tears streamed down Sunshine's face as he pushed his face deeper into the desert sand, trying to muffle his own sobs, unable to hide that overwhelming sadness…

Dead Divinity [Khala] [Open For Serious Plot/Interaction] [Reflection Mission] Empty Re: Dead Divinity [Khala] [Open For Serious Plot/Interaction] [Reflection Mission]

The sun was quite hot, but it wasn’t nearly as hot as what unraveled before her. Calypso stared at the strange green-haired woman, being taken aback when the deeply injured being created a white sphere of energy, Calypso almost taking this to be a sudden attack, til it didn’t do anything offensive, harmlessly sinking into the ground and expanding. Calypso had no idea what was happening, and she didn’t feel it was worth wasting words over; she could only watch.

Or well, behold the truckload of memories that was dumped in her brain. It wasn’t the amount, more the emotional weight, that almost knocked Cali off her feet. Terrible things had happened, both to this woman, and to others, and the image of that creature… It caused the young Danava to hit the sand, bottom plopping in the terrain as she panted,

“...Okay. Yep. Yep. That’s… One way to get tears outta me.”

She trembled a bit with this weight on her mind, panting and trying to recover from literally being floored. She struggled to her feet, her breath rather audible, despite her visually lacking a mouth. She decided to come a bit closer, but still clearly cautious, though she yearned to heal this woman, seeing her body so damaged stirred a deep sadness in the demon…

“I-I mean.. I’d be happy to heal your physical wounds..? I dunno about giving you my energy.. Though…” She put her hands in front of her face in a sort of blocking manner, “D-don’t take that as offense, though!”
The danava clearly demonstrated that she was fearful of the diminished demon goddess, taking in shaking breaths as her body felt cold and shaky, despite the heat granted by the sun. And this was when she started listening to what the woman had spoken of, even if she was too new to the world to fully understand what left her lips, she had the foggy idea of what Khalaism was, and who Deveta is.

Her words, her sorrow, her despair, it plucked at Calypso’s heart, she could feel the remorse, even if it was indirect. This only pressed the tears to come out, the golden Ambrosia beginning to form in her eyes. She watched the woman tear her heart open, forcing it to expose.. Her fear fizzled out, allowing her to walk forth, standing at the woman’s side. Her eyes were a golden fountain, her scooping some of the energy rich tears into a hand, and gently pressing it against one of Khala’s wounds.

“...It hurts, doesn’t it? But… Hiding away isn’t good for you..” She felt a weight on her lungs as she spoke, “...If you just hide all the time, you wouldn’t be able to become strong enough…”

She heard the sound of sand shuffling, and the mumbles of somebody else, turning to see a… Rather familiar marshmallow-y guy. She heard him refer to the woman as ‘My Goddess’, and then the thoughts clicked; She knew this woman seemed familiar… This was… Khala Asthavon. Though she had continued placing the Ambrosia over the woman’s wounds, her initially dark face began sparkling many a colors as she dipped her head,

“A-aahh! I.. I didn’t realize… Who you were..! S-sorry…” The demon looked to the side, “D-don’t be angry or anything, M-miss… Khala. I.. I want to help.”

For this goddess to view her followers, family and those who loved her coming back to see her side even in the shambled state this demoness was reassuring. Yet, at the same time, it was a reminder that she had a responbility to her people and those who worship and follow her to remain strong. Khala could not care anything for this world or the next, but she did care for and love her people. And, if nothing else, the will of millions upon millions of demons that wished for her to exist gave her the resolve needed to sustain her existence and seek something grander then the loathsome influence and power which raped the virtue of her vessel through Deveta's blood.

So, the road for Khala was simple: focus on her people, protect them and guide them through the storm to come.

And the first step toward doing that was making sure that she herself was strong enough in her divinity to do so. It is why the woman quickly tightened her fist and exuded a burst of aqua blue and shimmering gold aura out of her body. These brought with it great feelings of a will that was determined to grow, the feeling of love that still beat in her heart and a heavyweight which was her responsibility to her people to move forward with whatever outcome comes of her return. The world was changing rapidly and it was more important to keep progressing then worrying about what was lost.

Thus, to that end, Khala set her golden-eyed gaze toward Sunshine and pat his head as she saw no need for sobbing:

"You can rise, my son."

With a glance upward toward the sky, the woman gave a vexed stare which bled a mixture of determination, worry and sadness all at once for the actions her essence caused. There was so much to repair, so much to build up and many things to correct; but for now, she needed to gather what she could to set her plans in motion.

"We haven't the luxury to cry. I'm aware of what is happening in our realm, and what is coming is not in our favor. So I seek to go back to The Temple of Khalaism to regain my strength and reconnect with our people. "

Which is why she soon turned her sight back to the trembling demon of Calypso behind her. It was clear the immense emotion of thought, memories and feeling rocked the creature off her feet; but Khala felt empty about the Asthavon. Not out of malicious or uncaring, but because being timid, nervous, afraid and unsteady was not going to get either of them anyway. So, it was all useless and futile in her mind and their energy would be better set trying to be led in a new direction.

"I'm not offended. If you wish to heal me, then you are welcome to follow us back to our home."

With a soft sigh, the woman then tried her best to rework the wires of demonic magic in her body. Her possessive power which was tethered to the bound of Deveta had been destroyed, but a new one was being replaced which was rooted in the embodiment of Khalaism. Indeed, while the satanic divinity of The Demon God left her, this left space in her being to become her often demonic goddess of her own will, creed, and religion to see the light of a reborn Khala.

Even as a gold vortex ripped open in the space in front of everyone assembled at the woman's side, a great sense of daunting power still lurked in the depths of Khala's soul. It was blocked, locked and unable to rise to the surface as it hadn't realized it's depth yet. But soon, in due time, it would again in the mind of Khala and she needed to nurture her mind, body, and soul for it to properly come back so that she can do her best effort to prepare for the wars to come to her people.

"You are right. I can't hide. I don't have that blessing. I have to take action and become strong."

Taking a few steps forward, Khala started to walk into the vortex and glanced back at everyone behind her before saying these words:

"The time is now. We are going to take a step forward to reclaim the future for all Khalaist who follow this creed. That much I am assured of."

And with that said, Khala broke through the portal and knew this was the first step toward a long and painful journey ahead of both them and demon world. But one that needed to be done no matter the cost....
