I. Basic Information

» Name: Sofia Montero
» Titles: "M" The Melody, The Quincy Prodigy
» Age: 23
» Gender: Female

» Affiliation/Rank: Vandenreich, Sternritter Grandmaster

» Physical Appearance Description:

Despite her preferences, Sofia’s look and her choice of outfits have changed throughout the years just as she has. The woman still values mobility above all else, and will typically gravitate towards clothing choices that are the least restrictive. However, from her experience during the times she had the Eris Seal, its effects managed to bring out a darker and far less restrained side of her. And while the Seal was removed and its effects largely vanished, the more opened state of mind certainly reamined. The Quincy is far less likely to care about the opinion of others in regards to her personal life or her choice of attire. While she still places value in the opinion of her peers in such regards, the days of mulling over their concerns and changing her clothing choice to fit a norm had long since passed.

Though her clothing choice varies, she can typically be seen wearing some kind of skirt or a top. More often than not, the more standard and known Wandenreich uniform seems to be her pick. She has a preference for the largely white outfits, with gold outlines and golden edges. She’s just as likely however to revisit some of her older and more casual attires, like a simple white tops and dark blue skirts. As its noticeable, skirts are among her favorite pieces due to how easy she finds it to fight in them.

Even her physical look has experienced a change during this time. Right before she joined the Wandenreich, Sofia always kept her hair short. It was never allowed to go below her ears in the fears that it would get in the way of her training and be more harm than good. While she still occasionally will cut it that short, it's no longer the norm. She’s just as likely or more to actually let it grow long, somewhere down to about mid back length. Still, it's not unheard of for her to simply revisit an old style from time to time. She’s simply found that with heightened skill, her hair no longer became the source of concern or problem it could have been. Besides, with a different and varied choice of outfits, she simply goes for what feels right, and what she likes.

II. Personality Traits

» Personality:

Sofia’s personality has gone through as many changes as her power and her techniques during the last few years. Exposure to different individuals, and battle experience against numerous opponents has come to shape the kind of person she became. The girl is still heavily invested in her people; that never changed. Sofia still believes that Earth belongs to the Humans, and that it should rightfully belong to them. At the same time, she truly believes that each subspecies of Human, especially those with spiritual power stand as a form of needed evolution to try and reclaim what’s theirs. Among them she defines the Quincy as the warriors and protectors for a world on its perpetual brink of death.

Despite that mindset, she’s much less critical of other races like she once used to be. While still holding some level of disdain for the Demon and Hollow race as a whole, she’s fully aware there are exceptions to the general rule. There are smart individuals, willing to do well for the world and others. Among them she remembers fondly people like Yaksha and Demonica. Regardless, while she still tends to think less of them, she’s open to being corrected. Whereas before she would strike first and ask questions later, the Quincy is far more willing to listen first.

At the same time, her upbringing, her powers and her views continue to make her a rather tough and harsh leader to work under. As most members of the Vandenreich can attest, Sofia values discipline and cannot stand those who recklessly break the rules. She believes in leading by example and subjects herself to the same rules and regulations as everyone else. Despite her position within the faction and the wealth of her family, she’s never considered herself superior to anyone else in that regard. She trains with her men, eats with them, and is the first out in the battlefield leading the offensive. In her opinion, being superior is something that can only be proven through words and ideals in normal conversation, or through strength and power in the battlefield.

Unlike those before her, the woman knows the value of allies, especially in a world as unforgiving as this one. Despite the ghosts of the past, she has made a conscious effort to put personal problems behind and do what’s best for her people. Being at the forefront when the Vanguard and Vastime allied with the Quincy, Sofia has slowly learned to put her pride behind her for her people’s best interest. The more allies they possess the further their reach extend, and the more likely the Quincy were of keeping the world safe. Sofia isn’t one to completely let her guard down though. Despite alliances, she makes sure to always be on the ready and try to expect the unexpected; just in case. She has learned to never truly trust anyone.

As before, she has quite a lot of hobbies that tend to take up the time she doesn’t spend working. Music has always been one of her most favorite pastimes from a young age. Although capable of playing a wide variety of instruments, she’s known for her skills with the violin, something that’s always brought a smile to her. Training, battle, and combat progress easily match her love for music. As such, it’s easy to see why some of her best friends typically have a fondness and a great level of skill in one or both of those areas.

One of her biggest downfalls though is her own inability to trust and her fear of falling in love. Doing her best to avoid any circumstance where she’s vulnerable, the feeling has been ignored at all costs. At every turn in her life she has used a number of individuals to either get her way or obtain what she wanted. Using people has been an extra way of feeling at the top, while reminding her to never get to a point where she’s in the receiving end. She’s aware that feelings can come to endanger a person by bringing weakness into their life, and thus has avoided it at all costs. But as time’s gone by, and with a couple of individuals that have shown her reasons to try and open up more, there’s a chance she may yet allow herself to be vulnerable and feel as she’s never had.

III. Relationships

Toshiko Kamenashi: One of the few friends Sofia had during her childhood. Like her, the girl hailed from a famous Quincy family with a long list of affiliation to the Wandenreich. The two of them were trained from a very young age, though separately, and enjoyed the wealth and benefits their families possessed. Despite the obvious rivalry growing up, it was never seen as such by Toshiko. Despite wanting to get stronger and improve just as Sofia did, she had other interests that simply managed to take paramount.

Several years later, the two would come to join the Wandenreich just as they had planned. Sofia had become the Captain of the Jagdarmee and Toshiko the Captain of the Daten. The two seemed to be evenly off in terms of power, and the prodigy couldn’t be happier for her friend. She had nothing but and respect for her. Things however started to change from that point on. From Sofia’s perspective, it looked as though her childhood friend didn’t train as often or as much as before. Following a quick spar, everything became far more clear when Sofia managed to end the fight relatively quickly.

Though unknown to her friend at the time, Sofia left the faction for a just under a year in hopes to reconcile her own troubled mind and find answers to her questions. When she finally returned, she found Toshiko has changed quite a bit, and certainly not in the ways she had hoped. The Quincy still didn’t frequent the training grounds as much as Sofia would like. She had also found herself a romantic interest to take the place of what Sofia had been. And while she commended her on being happy, she couldn’t help but think it held her back. In fact, it looked as thought Toshiko had stagnated for quite some time in terms of power.

Regardless, though she doesn’t say it as often, Sofia still loves Toshiko. She was an invaluable friend growing up, and she’s still is. Granted, the prodigy has found it difficult and awkward to venture back to try and be as close as she was though. It stems primarily out of how detached her friend seems to be with the life of a Quincy in the face of other matters such as her romantic life. And rather than cast blame or demean, Sofia simply steps aside, hoping things get better soon for her friend.

Niflheim: From the very start, the relationship between Niflheim and Sofia was a bit estranged. She wasn’t sure why, but the old Quincy never really talked to her or acknowledged her as much as she did anyone else, like Toshiko. Despite creating some of the biggest chances and opportunities for their race, Sofia was barely treated like any member of the organization should. That in it of itself created some deep and veiled rivalries from the start. Sofia had set her eyes and on the Elect and in wanting to pass her, if anything to prove a point.

With time, she managed to do just that. Still, even long after Sofia created technology, bested the best of their kind, and created a legacy for herself, she received no acknowledgement. The rivalry would soon turn mostly to resentment. She was sure the Elect didn’t like her, and Sofia was sure she didn’t like her either. Pretty soon, whether by Niflheim realizing it or not, Sofia would need to step up and take control of an organization she more or less already led. However, during one of their most recent meetings, some of the most heartfelt interactions between the two came to light. Niflheim said she was dying, something Sofia knew could be prevented. It wasn’t unlike truly powerful spiritual Humans to live several thousand years, so her condition was likely just something that could be remedied one way or another.

More importantly, she said she had been watching her progress, and that she was proud. Sofia couldn’t but feel angered as how could the Elect have cared so much yet shared so little? Despite this, the two of them were in agreeance on what needed to happen for their people. It was unclear what the future would hold for them, but it looked as though Niflheim would continue to advice her people, even if as the Grandmaster while Sofia led. There also seemed to appear subtle hints at a romantic spark that was kept hidden and under veils for too long. Whether it lights up a fire and grows is yet to be seen, but both seem to be eager to find out.

Anis: Among her childhood peers, Anis stood out among the rest as being one of the strongest her age. It looked as though she would become the rival Sofia needed throughout her upbringing. In fact, it was Anis who initially pushed her to train harder in order to surpass her. It happened as a result of getting punched in the face during a playground altercation. Unfortunately, Sofia never got to test her skills or check her worth against the girl as she disappeared shortly after that. Some thought she had ran away, caving under pressure, and others thought she had simply been killed. Initially Sofia tended to believe the former. The life they led was hectic and complicated, and not many could withstand the pressure she faced every day.

It wasn’t until roughly one and a half decades later that Sofia would see her again. A wild and untamed amount of energy belonging to a Quincy and massive amounts of destruction were reported in an area not far from her. Once Sofia went and checked it out, she was met with that astounding discovery. Anis had been kept a sort of prisoner and slave throughout all those years. She had been robbed of her childhood and the potential she could have had as a Quincy, just like her friend. Instead, she had been made to fight day in and day out and in showed it her disheveled look. And so, putting past issues aside, Sofia took her in, in hopes of teaching her to be the best she could be.

It would certainly be an arduous and difficult task, but she was patient or so she thought. If Sofia could manage to find the balance between nurturing and discipline perhaps there was progress and pride to be earned for the girl. If she managed to grow within herself and learn to use her powers more efficiently, perhaps she could be a nice addition to the Sternritter. Regardless, her people would be willing and happy to have another member of their family join their ranks; Sofia was.

Arianda Vael: Among the very first Demons Sofia ever met was Arianda. However, what could have been considered as a chance encounter couldn’t be further from the truth. For some time the Quincy had researched into alternative though darker means of extending her powers and enhancing the techniques. Eventually she discovered the Eris Seal, and the peculiar circumstances and the rarity of the people that could grant it. Among the choices, Arianda was the one she thought she could manipulate best, and whose potential violence she was most likely to successfully control.

Playing out a somewhat innocent and detached individual, the Quincy allowed herself be dragged into the Demon’s claws for the sake of power. A couple of sensual escapades and her virginity were of little value to her, and easily discarded for what she planned to gain from it. Once it was clear she had obtained what she wished, Sofia allowed herself to momentarily give into the emotions the Seal seemed to feed on. Despite getting rid of the Seal over a year later, the two individuals still hold a certain level of friendship between each other.

As far as Demons are concerned, Arianda is actually a better cut above the rest, even with her close involvement with Shadow Fall. It can’t be denied that the two are tied in more than one way, specifically since they shared the Quincy’s first time. And while it hasn’t been clearly stated, its possible that Sofia wishes for the Demon to see the light and the error of her ways. It's likely that she hopes and waits she makes the move away from Shadow Fall, and into more natural and righteous paths such as the one Demonica has started to follow.

Hayden: There are very few people whose power and leadership Sofia truly respects, possibly because she holds them to the same level of rigor and scrutiny as she does herself. Among them is the former leader of the Vanguard, and current leader of Vastime, Hayden. The two knew of each other previously just through word of mouth. His accomplishments in and out of the battlefield were well known. He had led several forces successfully in combat, and had created some of the most powerful military forces in the world. As for Sofia, her youth and essentially little experience at the time made her far less likely to be known, but the prodigy of the Quincy was enough of an anomaly to awaken curiosity in him and others at the time.

Their first meeting was during the official alliance between the Vanguard/Vastime and the Wandenreich. Naturally there were a few areas of contention seeing as Radioactive, someone associated with one of their genocides was among their to-be allie’s ranks. But, after some deliberation and some more thought about the current state of affairs, it was best to leave the past in the past and move towards the future.

From that point on the two would meet each other from time to time. Typically it was to discuss matters of a political manner. Like him, Sofia wasn’t one to sit behind a desk and let others work for her. They even had a chance to spar, a time where the two would finally come to assert the value of each other's combat skill. All in all, she has a certain fondness for the man. His vast powers makes him equally dangerous as well as interesting. A sort of healthy rivalry sor of developed within herself, against someone she dares consider almost a friend. It's likely that as time goes on, the two will have more interactions to foster each other's growth, and that of their people.

Radioactive: Initially, Sofia wanted nothing to do with the man. When the current leadership presented the idea of Vastime/Vanguard allying with the Wandenreich, Sofia was strongly against it. Radioactive had been responsible for countless deaths among the Quincy several hundred years ago. And while it was certainly way before her time and her parent’s, its effects were still noticeable in her people and in the world at large. To say she had resentment, dislike, and perhaps even hate for the man would be a vast understatement. In the end, it was only her sense of duty and professionalism that kept her acting civil. Otherwise she would have lashed out in what could have been a catastrophe costing her people several lives. That couldn’t happen.

Instead, she listened and actively participated in the alliance meeting. They made their points, as she made hers. The groups did indeed come to an agreement and became allies, something Sofia actually agreed to as well. Radioactive had changed ever since those horrible events. He had changed rather drastically and showed signs of wishing to do so still. To say Sofia forgave him would be a lie. Perhaps one day, but that day had yet to come. She certainly didn’t like him still, and whether she could come to trust him or respect him was still on the fence. Nonetheless, she held him in a higher esteem than she ever did. Willing to see his progress, Sofia looks on to a future where his name can mean something else to her people than what he’s already remembered by.

Henrex: The first these two met, Sofia found a short, scared, and lonely boy that seemed to be filled with insecurities. Whether each of the former were true or not, that was certainly the vibe she got from their first encounter. He paused to speak, he seemed nervous and distant from everything and everyone around him. His power was decent, but he looked like someone with the eagerness to try and better. It was breath of fresh air, specially during a time where she voiced her discontent with her childhood friend and her refusal to train frequently. Sofia offered him shelter, a place to sleep, and even food to eat. Little did she know at the time the boy would grow into someone rather impressive she could be proud of.

The two didn’t see each other for almost two years after that. When they met, Henrex couldn’t possibly be more different than she remembered. He walked with his chin up and eyes forward, without nervousness or fear at every step and every word. He was far better kept from a physical standpoint, and had even managed to rise up to the position of Captain within the Gotei. More importantly his energy and his power had skyrocketed during her absence. At the present time, his power had risen to such a degree that he was essentially on par with her. The boy, whose age was actually well beyond hers, had managed to break through multiple obstacles and struggles to earn what he desired.

Sofia couldn’t be more proud of him, even if she did restrain the amount of praise she voiced on his behalf. Rather than being the friendly shoulder to rely on, the two had developed stronger bonds of friendship that expand from the social to the more military aspects of their lives. In turn, he has become another source of friendly competition and rivalry for the girl. With his most recent change in behavior, he seems like someone not willing to go down or be left behind. In that regard, Sofia has finally met her match as she’s not willing to walk behind anyone either. It's quite possible that the two would breakthrough new echelons of power together, and foster a friendship and a rivalry the likes of which most can only read of.

Ghislain: The former emperor of the Quincy is among the people that have had the most influence in Sofia’s career. Their first encounter was a bit bittersweet, with the young woman perhaps letting her emotions get the best of her. She was far too concerned with power, much more than now. And at the same time she was upset at his choice to help other people and other factions over his own. She thought he clung to power, and wouldn’t return unless he led the Quincy. Now, regardless of whether that was true or not, her reaction should have been better, though she didn’t notice until after the encounter.

Out of her request, the two met again almost a year or two later. After some needed apologies, the two had a series of conversations, learning a lot about each other's life, and their past. With the jumps in strength the young Quincy had made, it didn’t take long for the two to engage in a much needed friendly spar. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one that would last too long, as Ghislain called it off rather quickly, choosing to call it a draw. Despite the result, it was obvious that the two of them were among the very strongest of their kind at that time. They had the potential to usher their people on, and they certainly would.

More importantly, Ghislain was instrumental for Sofia since he managed to remove the Eris Seal from her. It allowed her to be free once more, feel pure, and effectively return to her people. Shortly after, the man led her on a journey to discover ancient secrets of the Quincy largely lost to time. Among them was the Regalia. As for Sofia, her Regalia took on a form of a Siren, something Ghislain and her found befitting of her unique set of skills. After some deliberation and some flirting, the two engaged in more simple pleasures of the flesh. Though in part as a thanks for all he had done for her, the woman had done it out of her own accord.

Though time has passed since their encounter, it looks as though Ghislain has once again made himself present in her life. Some of his more recent movements have seen him return to the Wandenreich to claim a place among his people; his family. It was the first step to showing all the new Quincy that he stood with them. It also helped that someone with such a great power was willing to stand with them, and show them they weren’t alone. Sofia couldn’t be more proud of his choice, as he has become both a respected combatant, a rival, and a good friend. With the two working closely, there’s bound to be more interaction between the two, and things can only be better from thereon.

Demonica: Demonica, or Monica as the Quincy calls her, is one of the most recent but welcomed additions to Sofia’s life. The Demon had a very long history of associating with the wrong crowds, and creating all sorts of mayhem and destruction. She was quite certainly the last person someone like Sofia would want to associate with. If even the dark and heinous entities had kicked her away, then most would have thought she was better off being left to rot and die, being forgotten by everyone, and erased from everything.

However, the Quincy had a hunch about Monica that turned out to be true, for now. The Demon had shown signs not of weakness, but rather of willingness to change. Time and time again Monica had been betrayed by those she called allies, or failed to capitalize on actions that were just horrendous. The young Quincy should have known better than to approach a situation like that, since typically one couldn’t change individuals that had been so ingrained into their ways; but she tried nonetheless.

The Quincy wanted to try and see if Monica could be redeemed. There were plenty of Demons doing good in the world and for proper and righteous causes. Granted their numbers paled in comparison to the overwhelming amount that belonged to organizations like Shadow Fall. They were simply outliers who knew better. In the short time the two were together, the young woman was able to see hope for her newest of friends. Monica was willing to change, and willing to embrace a life completely different from everything she had experienced.

From going to a store to shop without people noticing her at all or freaking over her presence. To jokes and innocent flirting, hugs, and simple kisses that brighten their mood. She was getting a taste for a different kind of life she may not have enjoyed fully. She was getting to see a different side of life that had been purposely been kept from her, though no more. While her friend wasn’t officially affiliated with the Wandenreich just yet, Sofia was sure it was only a matter of time until she would. Sooner or later Monica would shock the world with her actions, and help bring about the times she knew were coming.

On another note, the Quincy began to see Monica in ways she hadn’t seen anyone yet. Sure, she was beautiful, but there was far more to it than that. Perhaps it was the power she commanded? No, that wasn’t it either. Maybe it was her innocence with things unrelated to death, destruction and calamity? No, not that either. Whatever it was, whether something else or a combination of the above, Sofia was truly enjoying her time with her. Unlike previous encounters with other powerful beings, she wasn’t trying to use her for anything in particular. She could be of use, but Sofia was willing to chalk it up as a loss if it didn’t pan out; but it did. From the looks of it, it seemed as though Sofia was starting to develop feelings for her the likes of which she didn’t or rather couldn’t understand just yet though she probably would...soon.

Tsubasa: Quite easily and by far the toughest and most difficult opponent Sofia has ever faced. Even today, when her power has risen from what it was at the time, she would still find herself in a world of trouble trying to get the upper hand. Back when they did, their encounter stemmed mostly out of curiosity from both sides. Sofia was eager to test herself against the former Captain Commander, and he was curious to check the prowess of the best combatant the Quincy kind had to offer. Though excited, the Quincy didn’t fully know what she had gotten herself into.

Unlike Ghislain or some of the other opponents she faced, Tsubasa didn’t start out slow or easy. From the get go he displayed a clear intent to kill that was made worse by the sheer power and speed he possessed. At his level, Sofia could only think of a couple of people, the Demon Queen included, who could approach such a colossal level of power. Though a bit too late, it became obvious to the girl that she wasn’t fighting to show or fighting to impress anymore. She was fighting in the middle of an extremely dangerous struggle from which she was more likely to come out dead than alive.

In order to face him Sofia had to pool in all of her resources, managing to stay ahead barely and survive. Her maneuvers garnered the attention and respect of the Shinigami, who acknowledged her skills and placed her on a scale of her own. At the same time, the Quincy finally had a taste of what it was like to face an opponent at the highest possible level. Without a doubt, her encounter with Tsubas was one which forced her to grow exponentially. She grew proportionately in regards to how she approached combat, and with the power she displayed thanks to what she learned during it. Meeting the man is not something the Quincy has on her plans. But despite the danger of their encounter, its an experience she looks back on fondly as it helped make her into the warrior she’s today. And while there’s a chance the two might spar again someday far away, Sofia won’t rest until her progress elicits just as big a surprise and as large a smile as she caused him during their first encounter.

Ritsuko: The Human lover, and to-be wife of her childhood friend, Toshiko. Sofia knew nothing about her until she returned from her year long absence from the organization. It seemed as though during that time Toshiko had gotten over her. Instead she had found a then Quincy roughly about the same height as Sofia, with a similar skin tone, and similar hair. The comparison between them was almost too similar for comfort, but the young girl got over it eventually.

Strangely enough, it looked as though Ritsuko had been a Quincy originally. Through methods which she wasn’t told, the girl had lost her powers and what made her unique. Sofia had to believe it was through foolish acts, either by messing with the Sanrei glove too soon, or other forms of strain. In any case, she was a Human, and luckily for her, she had a shred of spiritual power to boot. In time, the girl would seek out Sofia, and daringly ask to be trained. She was aware of the past history between her lover and the prodigy, but she also knew of the power the latter commanded.

While reluctant at first, Sofia finally agreed. The young Quincy wouldn’t pull any punches, and went all the way against the girl. To the then Grandmaster’s surprise, Ritsuko proved to be far more resilient than she thought. The will to fight, and the eagerness to learn were exemplary; certainly something she wished Toshiko would pick up on again. Content with the results, Sofia eagerly awaits to see what the future holds for the Human. Despite no longer being a Quincy, she has the skill and the drive to be a true and powerful force to be reckoned with, if she doesn’t allow herself to remain idle.

Yaksha: This was the very first Hollow Sofia met face to face that she didn’t outright killed. The first time they met, Sofia was still the overly proud individual she used to be (much more than now). His witty attitude and his nature had earned him a swing that swiftly cut off one of his hands. What ended up being his saving grace was his oddly different persona and the way he behaved. Yaksha was completely different than any Hollow she had ever met, and she simply refused to entertain the idea something like that could exist.

Quite a bit of time would pass since their first encounter. By then Sofia had already faced off against the Goliath Shell and obtained the Eris Seal from Arianda. During that time, the Quincy was far more willing to accept things she otherwise wouldn’t. She was able to see some of the error in her archaic ways, a quality that would remain even after she rid herself of the influence of the Seal. The Hollow had healed his arm by then, and held no resentment for the woman. After apologizing for the events that transpired the first time, the two went out to a night on the town to enjoy themselves.

With every experience Sofia discovered that the world wasn’t so black and white as it seemed. Hollows and Demons were typically the bad guys as far as she was concerned, and the actions of the majority did indicate and corroborate her beliefs. Still, there were also necessary evils that made sure to what they could to create a better world, for themselves, and in turn, for others. Yaksha was among the only Hollow willing and ready to bring the fight to the Demons, trying to regain control of Hueco Mundo. There were rumors of an old Arrancar that had tried to do the same, but at the time of their meeting, nothing of note worth had been heard from said creature for some time. Gladly Sofia agreed to help him push back the Demons if he agreed to control the Hollow feeding on Humans, but none would come to pass. Unfortunately the man vanished, and with him did the ideals that held so much promise. Her only hope is that someday Yaksha returns and becomes the voice and the face his kind truly needs.

I. History

Sofia Montero was born in Valencia, Spain, in September of 2394. She was born the only child to Rodrigo Montero and his wife Lucrecia Montero, and the sole heir to the wealth and heritage of the noble Montero family. Their noble family possessed a long history of bureaucratic influence, as well as powers which extended well beyond the monetary boundaries. For over millennia, her family stood with the Quincy, providing the best of their pure blood lineage to serve the cause of the Wandenreich. Even during the times of Yhwach and the Quincy Genocides, the Montero family stood strong, surviving and enduring, while valiantly defending the views of the Wandenreich until their very last breath. This noble family was famous for having bred some of the more powerful and renowned Quincy throughout the ages.

Although the family was characterized in part by their dedication to their people, there was something that was something else further embedded within their core values: pride. From the first Quincy in the family, Pedro Montero, his pride and resilience to maintain would live long after he did. In general, the Montero believed Humans to be the supreme race. To many other races, Humans were sometimes seen as weak and pathetic. To others, Humans simply lead trivial, short, and insignificant lives, making up stories to feel like they belonged, and blaming single entities they could fight rather than working together. While the assumption wasn’t far from the truth, it was a mistake to think Humans were alone in such a predicament. Throughout history, many other races suffered from the same ill-fated lifestyle. The Quincy and their past proved a valid example of a race that thought itself far superior over the rest. At one time it was the Shinigami, but with the uprising of different and darker races, like the Demons, the balance of the world seemed to hang by a thread.

From the start however, the Montero thought differently. They believed the shorter life span of Humans compared to other races, allowed them to experience feats of the mind and the soul few beings could truly comprehend. And with Human beings in their view being the epicenter of creation and transition to most other races, it only helped to support their view. As far as the Quincy, the Montero saw their lineage and other pureblood of their kind as a step above and beyond even humans; an evolution of sorts. It didn’t necessarily come to mean they thought Quincy were better or more important than Humans. But rather that their creation was a necessary step in the evolution of a world trying to rid itself of the cancers that assailed… like the Demons and the Hollow. They believed that Quincy would be the weapon and the spearhead that would one day place Humans at the top, where they had always been meant to be. While some of their peers in the Wandenreich shared the ideal, not all thought as the Montero did. And so, wary of other races and the treacherous nature of dark beings they considered abominations, the Montero developed a keen sense of awareness that helped them survive through times many other pureblood families simply could not.

While plenty members of the family perished throughout centuries of war, genocide and persecution, there was always at least one heir to the noble family of the Montero preserving the name. The legacy would continue on until it arrived to Sofia. Her parents Rodrigo and Lucrecia had been trying for years to conceive a child but every effort had proven in vain. The miracle of Sofia’s birth was the news that became a source of happiness to the family although with a rather bitter aftertaste. While they had indeed managed to bear a child, it was just a girl. Although her parents did not dislike or resented the baby for being of that gender, there was no doubt they were disappointed, and would simply have been much more satisfied had they conceived a male instead.

Stranger still was just how different the girl was from both of her parents. Rodrigo was blonde with blue green, and Lucrecia was just a darker shade of blonde with green eyes. The rest of the family for as far as there were pictures looked more or less like they did. On the other hand, the baby was born with ebony black hair and brown eyes. It wasn’t anything overly alarming at the time, but something that certainly set her apart from the rest of the family. There was never any doubts as to the parents of the girl since Lucrecia had always been devoted and loyal to her husband as he had always been to her.

Sofia would be raised with the same affection and care as a son would have. Despite having been gifted with the miracle of a child, her parents kept trying for a boy. The thought that they could be rewarded with a son was simply far too much enticing of an incentive to pass. If their efforts failed however, Sofia’s parents had already decided for her to be married to the heir of another pureblood Quincy family of comparable lineage, authority, and wealth. The name and legacy of the family would then be on Sofia’s hands since lately it had become customary to allow the stronger family to carry on the name. And so, despite their continuous efforts to try for a boy, Rodrigo and Lucrecia would make sure to instruct Sofia as she grew up. If she was to be the only chance for the Montero to carry on their legacy, then she needed to learn fast to avoid disappointing and killing their long and prestigious heritage.

From a very early age, Sofia showed signs that were indicative of great intelligence. Simple puzzles that were often given to kids much older were easily solved by her. She managed to stand, walk, and talk much more readily than other kids too. The most shocking and noticeable talent of hers however had to do with music. Ever since she was able to discern sounds, she would turn and follow the music. Whether it stemmed from the TV, a recording or something else entirely, Sofia had always been drawn to the sounds of music. While at a very young age she was still unable to dance or sing eloquently, she did short clumsy movements fitting of a baby to attempt to dance. Being still far too young to start any kind of real Quincy training, her parents bought her all the items necessary to nurture her musical learning. They even hired the best tutors available to ensure she was taught by the very best. While they had enough money to spend and waste in such things, her parents would soon come to regret the decision they had made.

By the age of three, Sofia was already able to play numerous simple songs on the violin. She was even able to, with some fair amount of minor mistakes, play much more difficult and rigorous pieces. Her skill and fame as a child music prodigy was such that she was often performing in front of crowds, leaving them in awe and mesmerized that a child could play with as much talent and grace as she did. Her performances would set the stage for expectations that pretty much required her to become a wonderful musician as an adult, or otherwise suffer the consequences of disappointing those that followed her progress and her career from childhood and into adulthood. Her growing talent and fame did not sit well with her parents though. While they were proud and glad that their child was able create such marvelous music and amaze so many, the Montero were not musicians; they were Quincy. Her parents feared that by letting her become too enthralled with music and the violin, she would never be able to amount to true potential she could have as a Quincy.

And so, at the age of five, she would officially start her Quincy training. By then, her skill with the violin was undeniable. She could perform some of the most difficult pieces without almost any mistakes. In fact, had it not been for her extremely young age and her other priorities, she would have easily been able to afford a seat at some of the most prestigious orchestras. Even at that age, her skill wasn’t much lower than a fairly accomplished adult violinist. Regardless, from that point on, Sofia would need to learn to balance her studies of the Quincy with those of the violin. That’s what she thought. If her parents had their way however, she would have never touched a violin or a violin bow ever again.

At the start, Sofia found the training to become rigorous, difficult, and simply no fun. After all, despite her young age, most prospect Quincy children, however rare lately, did not start their training until they were at least a few years older than she was. In her case, her parents were forced to train her at that age. They didn’t just see it as something that could be helpful, they saw it as necessary. Their daughter was becoming too used and endeared to the violin and the life of an artist at such a young age that they thought it could jeopardize their real goal of extending the Montero’s strong Quincy lineage.

It was roughly around this time that she met Anis. Like Sofia, the child hailed from a very powerful family, just like the Montero. No doubt, both families had already created a sort of semi friendly rivalry as they tried to see whose child bested the other, and who would grow to be the better Quincy. The rivalry was seen more as sort of a friendly competition to Sofia. In a way, likely due to her age, she simply likened it to a musical test to see who could play better. Unfortunately, a sudden turn of events managed to change her mind rather quickly on that matter. During one of her times hanging out with Anis, some silly conversation spiraled out of control, with the two throwing silly insults at one another. In the end, it was Anis who punched Sofia in the face, throwing her down into the playground before the two left. That was the one and only encouragement the girl needed to try and get stronger. She had a rival, and she did not plan to lose against her. The next time they met, Sofia was positive it was her who would turn up on top. Unfortunately, that girl disappeared soon after. Some thought she had run away, and some thought she had died. But for the time being, the girl had no recollection of what had happened to Anis, or if she’d ever see her again.

Since Sofia was still a bit young, she wasn’t expected to be able to summon a spirit weapon. Instead, she was taught how to use physical bow and arrows so that her ability with it and her marksmanship could improve beforehand. Beyond archery, personal trainers were hired so that she could exercise at a level that was sufficient and challenging for her age, in order to set the foundation for her progress down the road. Unfortunately, Sofia was not able to reflect the same skill and talent in physical activities as she did playing music. While she indeed tried, she simply did not enjoy it, and her performance at the time suffered because of it. She wasn’t inept in areas of physical exertion or taxing of stamina though. She simply did not display the same innate interest that she showed with the violin. With determination and a resolve to finish so that she could get to her violin rehearsals, Sofia was able to put up with the exercises, and met the expectations of her physical training, albeit barely. Her parents, though unhappy with the influence music and the violin had in her, had seen it as a powerful tool to help her achieve more. Little did they know, that with time, it would also help her accomplish feats no one in her lineage ever had.

By age seven, Sofia was already engaging twice or three times more formal Quincy training than others her age. Early in her training she had shown proof of her pure blood Quincy lineage by awakening her Blut. Though it was still unrefined at the time and could barely control it, she most often attempted to try and make use of its defensive capabilities. She had also been taught how to gather reishi around her, and use it to summon a spirit weapon. Much like with physical exercise, initially, Sofia found it extremely difficult to do so. Her bows would be weak and flimsy and only remained long enough to fire about half a dozen Heilig Pfeil (arrows) before vanishing. Her physical training had also been advanced to fit the rigorous struggle her parents expected of her. However, their expectations were always set far too high. The style of training and dangerous environment she was trained under were fitting for someone much older than her. Repeatedly, Sofia found herself, in privacy, depressed and angry at her results. She was used to being a prodigy and to welcoming sensations and applauding in the stage. Likewise, she always strived to have a near perfect performance in everything she did. Either because her parent’s tasks and tutors proved to be too demanding or whether it stemmed out of a lack of interest, she did not amount to what she thought she could. Though she was able to pass all her tests and meet up to her expectations, it wasn’t enough. She was used to going above and beyond, and it angered her that she couldn’t do the same during her Quincy training.

On a rainy afternoon, when practicing her violin for what little time she was allowed, Sofia made a stark and shocking discovery. While thinking of her Quincy training and reading a music sheet, she was able to materialize a violin bow made of reishi. It was flimsy just like her Quincy Heilig Bogen (holy bow). The realization that she could do that brought an instantaneous smile of happiness and fulfilment. She liked it. From that day on, in secrecy from her parents, Sofia would practice every chance she had to be able to summon a reishi violin bow that looked better and lasted longer than the previous one. Though she continued her Quincy training, the events she did on secrecy had a rather noticeable effect. During her training, she was able to summon the Quincy bow extremely fast, and even surprised her parents and tutors with the outstanding skyrocketing development. Her Quincy bow however, still needed a lot of work. While she was able to maintain it for considerable amounts of time thanks to her daily practice summoning a reishi violin bow, the practice she delegated to it had not improved her ability to refine the Quincy bow itself.

At around the age of ten, Sofia was already able to materialize a violin bow that looked no different from a real violin bow. She always wished she could show her parents but doing it would have been a grave mistake. Through the progress in her own Quincy training, she was finally able to materialize Quincy bows that were near perfect in construction and that lasted just as long as her violin bow. She still didn’t enjoy using it as much as her violin bow, but those were things she kept to herself. She even figured out she could use her spiritual violin bow to play her violin. She just needed to be calm, and let her energy be still. When she did so, she was able to play just as well as she could with any regular violin bow. She never did use her spiritual violin bow to play in front of her parents however as the risk of noticing its construction was more than she would wager on.

Just before her 11th birthday, Sofia was informed she was going to be tested in a different way. She was brought out to large grasslands in Cantabria, Spain, along with her tutors. There, without explanation or former warning, one of her instructors would reveal and break a Hollow bait, setting the stage for the inevitable. Sofia would not fight by herself though. Her tutors would fight alongside her to keep a watchful eye on her moves and how she behaved and reacted during the hectic tempo of combat. Naturally, the young girl was scared. Though her training had always kept her on her toes, this test was completely different. Though her tutors were there to protect her if absolutely necessary, her life could easily hang by a thread.

The first few Hollows to come out seemed of relatively low power, and were rather easy to dispatch. With her Quincy bow in hand, she jumped, sped and twirled with a grace that was reflective of such a talented and graceful musician. From time to time however, her elegant movements seemed unnecessary, and she would find herself cornered by a Hollow, just to be saved by the Heilig Pfeil of one of her tutors. For the most part, she was doing alright. She wasn’t old enough where she should have been able to take on every Hollow there on her own. Rather than stopping, the Hollows just kept coming. While starting to get tired, it seemed her recurrent training summoning her spiritual violin bow had paid off since her Quincy bow showed no signs of flickering or disappearing from her hands.

The newer waves of Hollows were filled with beings of greater power, malice, and violent intent. Sofia would find herself running and dodging more than she had to earlier. And while her tutors had no problem keeping up, they could hardly manage to defend her with the same leisure and degree of ease as they previously had. Cornered once more, in an angle far beyond the helping reach of her mentors, she would cover her head, closer her eyes, and cry. In a moment of inner solitude, desperation and seeming hopelessness, all Sofia thought was the one thing that made her happiest. Thinking of the times she had played beautiful pieces and how she felt, even if for a brief instant at the time, was enough to give her the encouragement she needed to survive. Against the face of adversity, Sofia would allow her Quincy bow to vanish, and in its place materialized her violin bow.

Lost in a sea of overflowing emotions, she felt like she drowned in ideas and thoughts she just couldn’t understand. With a swift movement of her spiritual violin bow, she would be shocked when a sonic wave, filled of sounds of music crashed and swept away the Hollows that had cornered her. It was then that Sofia became acquainted with the rare ability she possessed. With her skill as a musician, she was able to move her violin bow over the air, already filled with her spiritual energy to cause a variety of effects. At the moment, Sofia did not understand her powers fully. But, curious and determined as the genius musician she was, she intended to rehearse in battle, and to improve. And so, darting from place to place, she noticed she could create different effects depending on how she slid her violin bow, how fast or slow, or even how repeatedly or scarcely she did. Soon, the Hollows would disappear as would her tutor’s doubts about her skills. Her parents would be notified about her amazing performance as well as the unique and unorthodox look of her violin bow.

The next few years would see Sofia overcome plenty of obstacles, and pierce right through new thresholds of power. At around the age of 13, Sofia was already a highly accomplished combatant, and her skill was befitting and even exceeded some of her more renowned ancestors. Her parents were long aware of her continuous devotion to music after bearing witness to the specifically related and unique abilities she had in combat. As such, they did not stop her from pursuing an interest in music so long as she continued pushing herself in her Quincy training as well. Through her own rehearsal and experimentation, she had discovered her Heilig Geigenbogen (holy violin bow) as an extremely efficient and versatile weapon that suited her well. By holding on to the stick part of her geigenbogen and pulling on the reishi string, she could fire her arrows with ease. By extending the handle so she had enough space to fit her hand. Likewise, extending the frog part of the violin bow created a small hand guard, and by hardening the reishi string and the geigenbogen altogether, she could use it as a sword too. It actually looked a lot like seele schneider. Of course, her unique and most powerful ability was the gift of being able to project a variety of effects through the use, rhythm and tonality of the music she created by sliding her violin bow or her limbs at different tempos on her energy infused surroundings.

There was yet another factor now that separated the girl from any other Quincy ever within the Montero family. Besides her look, the unique power she possessed had not been witnessed in anyone else. That sort of power was more common on the Sternritter of old who had procured the power thanks to Yhwach. And while there were numerous accounts of Quincy being born with such a unique power, those accounts were extremely rare. Regardless, though it did raise some suspicion for some time, it didn’t last. The Montero were far more proud and satisfied with her skills and her powers than they were concerned with the reason and the origin to her Melody ability.

Sofia had found her own way of approaching combat. By thinking of every battle as if it was a stage, she was able to run and pace herself and her choice of attack and defense with grace and elegance. In essence, it wasn’t much different than playing her violin. She simply needed to follow the right tempo and make the right movements to ensure a positive and beautiful outcome. It was thanks to her affinity towards music and the fact that her geigenbogen made it easier, that she was able to further her own skill in other areas. Swordsmanship had become a very common practice, almost as much as archery. And with Quincy being somewhat at a disadvantage in close quarters, it was seen as not only helpful but mandatory that she knew and was pushed to excel in that specialty as well. While Sofia trained a lot with seele schneiders, since her geigenbogen allowed her to use it as a bow or a sword, she did most of her practice with it, occasionally double wielding a seele in conjunction with her geigenbogen.

With her parent’s influence, they were able to find, convince, and afford the most capable and accomplished tutors that specialized in different aspects of Quincy combat. She would have her own tutors, one that would help her swordsmanship, archery, her speed, and one the dominion over reishi. Though her parents tried to get her a tutor to help her hand to hand combat improve, it was in vain. She simply did not have an affinity for it regardless of their best efforts. And, even with the best of intentions, hand to hand combat training was hurting her in other areas of her training beyond the bruises and keeping her from playing the violin and exploring her unique power. Perhaps it also had to do with her encounter with Anis at such a young age. It probably had to do as well with her potential music career, since damaging her hands could put it in danger. Regardless, she just didn’t like it that much. As such, though she trained in hand to hand combat enough to know the basics, it had never progressed nearly as much as her other areas of expertise.

Once her powers became equivalent to those of a fairly successful adult Quincy, she would see her training tests and tasks exponentially rise in difficulty once more. Sometimes she would be pit against her Quincy bow tutor using only her geigenbogen as a sword. On other occasions, to deny her the chance of becoming comfortable, she would be pit against her swordsmanship tutor using only her bow, while forbidden from creating any real distance between each other. Alternatively, sometimes she would be pit against both of her trainers, while being denied weapons and relying on solely her speed and reishi blasts as a means to remain unharmed. The trainings were meant to emphasize those areas of combat to encourage her to grow stronger.

Once she was a bit older, the girl started being instructed in several Quincy spells, some that relied solely on reishi, and some involving Ginto. Sofia found she didn’t dislike it at all, quite the contrary. While definitely different than music, a Quincy could ideally create art through the spells they casted. At the time, she was mainly being taught the basics and how to progress through the more difficult spells. One day, she thought of becoming well versed enough to create her own spells, just like she created her own marvelous pieces when she played the violin. While simple techniques like Heizen and Wolke were mastered effortlessly, more difficult ones like Sprenger took much longer to master. As far as her unique ability, Sofia was forbidden from using it against her tutors. It was highly unpredictable and dangerous, and could easily place them in harm’s way. Instead, Sofia was allowed countless hours every day to practice her own unique skill on her own, and in privacy. Frankly, her unique ability was far more developed than any other of her skills. Since she could pretty much create music, the love of her life, she practiced it and used it far too often, leading to her great skill with it. She was able to create weak but fast traveling waves, and powerful but slower moving ones as well that could work as either a form of attack or defense. She was even able to create waves of music she could ride, like tangible waves through the use of different strokes of her geigenbogen on her unique energy. And while Sofia was quickly advancing on her way to mastering her unique ability, she knew and worked hard to uncover other skill that were still shrouded in mystery.

Though not adult at the age of 15, her numerous skills and qualities made her deserving of the title, or so her family said. Though her parents had not been able to conceive another child, they were hardly as worried as they were when Sofia was born. Their daughter was strong, and she had nigh untold potential. Even at her young age, she had already managed to come close to some of the strongest members of the ancient Montero Quincy lineage. Throughout her training, the use of Blut had been encouraged systematically to get her to adapt to the disadvantages between the two forms of Blut. She also had her unique, melody related ability that was nonexistent in anyone else in their family. It was rumored that during the times of Yhwach, there were members of the Wandenreich that held abilities that were unique just as Sofia’s. They were renowned for their power and their ability to exert change and drive forth the Quincy ideals. Her parents had no doubt that if continuously nurtured, Sofia could help bring peace, stability, and dominance to the Humans alongside her Quincy brethren…and shine new honor on the Montero family name.

Being so close to her adult years, and having proved herself worthy in training, her parents saw her fit to attempt a famous and important Quincy Trial: Mastery of the Sanrei Glove. Sofia was presented with a sanrei glove that had been gifted to their illustrious family by the Wandenreich in the past. While she wasn’t filled in the details, she imagined the glove had likely belonged to one or two of the most powerful Sternritters of her lineage. When the aspects of the trial were explained to her, Sofia had primarily one fear. She was told that most likely she would incur injuries to her firing hand. The idea scared her to no end. The possibility of the training affecting her musical hobby terrified her. But at the same time, she had a duty to her family and a destiny to fulfill. Beyond her fear, the test didn’t seem all that difficult. In her mind, simply maintaining her geigenbogen for a week, firing arrows repeatedly didn’t seem too unruly. Of course, she’d soon find out she had severely underestimated the suppressive power of the sanrei glove.

Just days after, Sofia, her archery tutor and a few of the family’s servants would travel to Navarra, Spain. There, everyone but her would stay at a very luxurious cabin. As for Sofia, she would spent the whole week in a beautiful area known as the Nacedero del Urederra with no one to keep her company but a servant that would come once a day to feed her without interrupting. The area was known for its small but fresh water flowing waterfalls, and the turquoise waters that made the environment befitting of a lovely dream. Once she was situated, Sofia would waste no time and summon her geigenbogen, ready to start.

As soon as she had started, Sofia found it extremely taxing to even summon her violin bow. It was a shocking realization since she had become so proficient at its use and ease of maintenance. Regardless, the first day went without any issues. The second day however, everything would turn upside down for her. On the day prior, she had thought of the things she wanted to do once she was done. She thought of the concerts she had ahead, and of her family. During the second day however, she noticed her mind was already devoid of anything of meaning. Instead, she found herself staring solitarily ahead, as she continued to fire arrows from her violin bow as frequently as possible. She was hungry all the time, since the servant only came to feed her once a day. She was beyond bored. And more importantly, her hands were already starting to hurt. Even without going halfway through the trial she was already lamenting within herself and wishing she hadn’t gone ruined all hopes she had of continuing to play the violin.

On the third and fourth day desperation started to set in. She would count the seconds, and the hours seemed to turn into days. The pain was agonizing, but it had become a form of white noise, or background feel. She would disregard the pain for short moments just to be reminded by sudden, sharp waves of excruciating pain. While she was being fed once a day, she had not been able to sleep at all. Her eyes were red and tired, her body was aching, and she had difficulty even maintaining the proper posture to stand up. It was at that moment that Sofia had an idea that seemed just crazy enough to work.

Right after she had fired one of her arrows, she pulled and flicked the reishi string of her geigenbogen. It was not unlike the way she played her violin. While for the most part, a violinist played by sliding the violin bow over the strings of the violin, the musician could also pluck the strings of the instrument to make different and uniquely sounding melodies. When she plucked the reishi string of her violin bow, she noticed she was able to create a musical noise just as she could when sliding her violin bow over the air around her. Beyond that, the arrow seemed to shift and hit several feet away from her intended target, almost as if the musical ability had pushed it elsewhere. With that realization, there was a newfound energy and resolve within her, and a spark in her eyes. She lived for the excitement of the moment, and reveled in mastering new musical pieces when one proved too difficult. At the time, she found herself in a situation that was not unlike it. With it, her focus returned and she was able to continue on determined to push on and complete the trial.

That day, and all throughout the following day, Sofia would change her style of training in her way to master the Sanrei Glove. Staying still, and doing nothing was not like her at all. Instead, she used what energy reserves she had left while drawing from her own willpower and jumped, ran, swirled and twirled in different directions. She would aim at random areas and plucked her geigenbogen’s strings repeatedly after firing. With her own control over her abilities, she would will the musical waves in a hurry to shift the direction of the arrows and guide them straight into the trees or the targets she intended to hit. To remain true to the style of training however, she wouldn’t stop, and would fire consecutive arrows after using her ability. While she was surely tired, the excitement of the developments she had made, and the subtle differences in music she could create by simply plucking at the reishi string at different tempos had her more than entertained. Through enjoyment and sheer power of will and effort, she continued to exceed her own expectations during training. Eventually, she was stopped by her archery tutor. It had been nine days since she had been there. The prerequisite was seven days, and while he congratulated her on lasting that long and going beyond, he suggested she stopped. Otherwise, she could create further muscle tears and damage that would be likely impossible to heal from. In an effort to try and make sense of better judgment, Sofia would agree, and head home with him.

I. History

The results of her training would be bittersweet. On one part, exponentially higher levels of power and control as well as stamina pushed her to new thresholds of might. Beyond it, her skill in gathering and maintaining reishi around her was beyond what either of her parents had ever witnessed before. Unfortunately, she spent a good couple of months without being able to play to the best of her capabilities or performing in planned orchestral concerts. While she could hold her violin and her violin bow well, doing unorthodox hand maneuvers or plucking far off strings repeatedly was far too uncomfortable. Though the pain would subside in months, and she would return to playing as she usually did, it was sort of an awakening for her. Sofia loved music, and it had become a central part of her life as a Quincy. As it turned out, every great thing required some sort of sacrifice, so it would be another one of her life goals to figure out how to balance her love for music and the way of the Quincy, to complement and contribute to each other.

The mastery of her sanrei glove would bestow on Sofia new thresholds of power and the chance to continue to bridge the gap between the things she had and the things she wanted. With time, she would find that gathering reishi was an extremely painless task. Because of the ease and the talent she had shown as a both a musical and Quincy prodigy, her father would entrust her with an anecdotal story of her family’s past. There were rumors that one of the most prominent members of the Montero family, Augusto Montero had been a considered a prodigy just like herself a few centuries before her time. It was told that his mastery over reishi was such that he could create things for various purposes. The idea seemed feeble to Sofia at the start. Quincy were already able to create a variety of tools from reishi, namely their spirit weapon. However, the question would remain in her mind as to just what her predecessor could do, and what she could actually create if she were to put her mind to it.

She knew that Shinigami used their kido for a variety of purposes. They used some kind of school or method for defensive purposes, and some for offensive and healing. The Quincy repertoire was much more limited as there was just so much one could do with reishi. The fact that she had never seen anyone try to get extra creative with reishi was all the input she needed. Sofia was an artistic mind that lived for training and her music. Her versatile and unorthodox geigenbogen was a testament of it. And, with her natural affinity for reishi manipulation, she decided to try and create art through a craft that stemmed from something other than her musical skill.

Her first attempt would be at replicating a Quincy pentacle out of reishi. Actually doing it was extremely easy. However, the construct had no substance behind it. She barely found any difficulty in the creation of the construct but that was primarily because of the weak nature of the latter. In her efforts to make art from her new tests and experiences, Sofia would aim to try something new in her training with her tutors. During one of her sessions where she was not allowed any weapon, and sent only to run, using her hirenkyaku to avoid potential harm, Sofia would attempt to test her hunch. By condensing a lot more reishi behind the Quincy pentacle she created, she focused, made it sturdy and strong, and used it to block the incoming barrage of spirit arrows from her tutor. Though the Quincy pentacle managed to block all incoming arrows with ease, Sofia found herself breathing heavily right after using it. Though creating the construct while on a calm state was rather simple, using it in the heat of battle was still difficult for her. And, with the notion that there was still a lot of improvement she could make to her discovery, she would continue to refine the skill.

Soon, she was able to create not just one but two Quincy pentacles. While she never showed any interest in creating any more than two, she never stopped believing there was more she could do to increase the difficulty and the use of her first creation. Her work wouldn’t stop with pentacles however. With time and dedicated training, and with the help of her prodigious talent for learning, Sofia was soon able to create a variety of items. From reishi blades, pentacles, and even walls, she was able to use the constructs for a variety of effects. Strangely enough however, most of her work with her reishi manipulation techniques revolved around defensive tactics. It was not unlike her use of Blut. While she was capable of using Blut Arterie and Vene, she had a preference and an affinity for Blut Vene. With her reishi manipulation techniques, she simply saw defense as more needed for her. She felt comfortable with her attacks as they were with her arrows and her geigenbogen. Ultimately, Sofia would come to discover another source of enjoyment for her. In a life where art and amusement went hand in hand, Sofia was thrilled to discover she could continue to create art not just in music, but in the creation of her reishi crafts as well.

During her training, Sofia discovered she had a passion for art that extended beyond the musical wonders she could create on the violin, and the abilities she crafted as an extension to the latter. She loved music primarily because of the beautiful and exuberant pieces she could create. The idea that she could craft new and beautiful art through the fruits of her labor always drove her to continuously improve her musical talents. Likewise, Sofia discovered that she could also make art through different means in different areas of her combat training. She would attempt it by first making the basics hers, and then exploring technicalities until she could create a beautiful craft she could call her own.

During her training with her swordsmanship tutor, she noticed that initially she didn’t make as much progress as he had hoped for her. It was not unlike her unfortunate past with hand to hand combat training however. Simply, the tutor expected her to rely on the strength of her blows to push a target back and assert her dominance through power with her blade. However, that was completely unlike her style. And, once she was able to come to terms with what she enjoyed, and what felt more comfortable during the hectic state of battle, she was able to make great strides in development. Just like she had her own style of finger placing on the violin, and the unique movements when she played with her violin bow, she was able to find her own unique take and preference for bladed combat. Rather than going all out with strength, an attribute she didn’t excel in, she decided to go a different route. Leverage, momentum, turns, and graceful movements would allow her to use those advantages in her favor whereas a reliance on strength on her part would have done her no good. Likewise, by exploring and replicating the calm, and fluid movements she used during her violin recitals, she was able to create a just as smooth and fluid bladed combat style that was truly her own.

Sofia would make use of the vast knowledge of her swordsmanship tutor and the experience he had in the numerous belligerent conflicts of his past. However, rather than copying his own style, she would introduce several aspects of her own that clicked with hers and her fluid musical preferences to create something new and innovative. Though she used her geigenbogen the most during her bladed training, it was not unlike her to switch to using one of her seele schneider as an alternative. She would quickly discover that speed was an nigh perfect replacement for the strength she lacked. While never quite able to completely replace strength, she was able to close the gap in skill and the pressure applied against an opponent by using surges in speed and greater momentum. She would try and focus on tight but smooth blade work that emphasized a lack of exposure to incoming hits. Despite it, her progress on her Blut would allow her to resist some of the occasional hits she received. Granted, though her tutor did not wish to kill her, he wasn’t opposed to maiming her if she made a mistake that deserved said punishment as a result. Though Sofia would never purposely allow herself to be hit, she did try her best to perfect her Blut to minimize the chances of a grave injury. During certain intricate and beautiful movements where an opponent’s counterattack could land, she would readily prepare and use her Blut though sparingly, to minimize the chances of an injury. Rather than using her own force, she would try to find ways to use an opponent's attack strength against them. The complete domination of her opponent's movement was key, and one of her ways to shorten the gap between the strength she lacked and victory. Because of her style, it required quick reflexes, and a very fast and fluid positional transition to allow her to minimize the chances of disarmament that would be even more important down the road.

In combat, she started focusing on the balance of her blade and her body. She noticed that moving in battle was definitely not unlike playing her violin. Though she was a prodigy and genius with the violin, she was fully aware it was very simple to make mistakes in those area as well. Plucking the wrong string at the wrong time, or sliding the violin bow too slow or too quickly over the wrong strings at the wrong tempo could cause a melody to sound horribly. Bladed combat turned out to be almost the same. Through her style, she discovered she enjoyed and preferred her movements to follow focused, and elegant transitions that prioritized the unilateral balance of her body and footwork to outmaneuver her opponents. The wrong step, or a movement made too early or too late could have spelt misfortune for her. As such, she tried to be as careful and fluid in her use of a blade as in her use of a violin.

When she became accustomed to the idea and the concept of bladed combat she preferred, Sofia started to become comfortable with the idea of using two blades at once. Being ambidextrous was nothing new to her. Having had use both hands, one for the violin bow, and one to hold the violin and pluck the strings for years had made it a naturally easy and smooth transition. Dual wielding a seele schneider and her geigenbogen was quickly deemed to be one of the best decisions she made. Since mastering dual wielding would be a bit more difficult, she found that whenever she returned to training with only one blade, she would have increased concentration and a much easier time controlling her pacing. She continued to make recurrent use of fluid and smooth movements, relying on speed, momentum, and economy of motion rather than brute strength to stand up to, and sometimes even overpower those of greater physical strength.

Just like when she played the violin, Sofia never seemed to be distressed or alarmed whenever she used her blades. She always appeared calmed and steady, replicating the quiet and calm postures of a violinist performing an orchestral piece. In fact, her tutor and her family would often compliment the beautiful bladed style of her that seemed to be indicative of someone that danced rather than fought. Her artistic mind simply pushed her to explore and developed new ways to better her bladed work. Her emphasis however stemmed not out of a desire to be the strongest, but rather to create art as she did with her music. Through simple but clever tactics, soon she was able to easily keep up with her tutor. Switching back and forth from blade to dual wielding and vice versa thanks to her geigenbogen, she was able to keep her opponents on their toes at all times. Even when using two blades at once, Sofia would switch up between two variations. Just like when performing a musical piece, there were aspects of songs that required fast high paced beats, and some more slower or refined tempos. She would find the perfect transition for her during bladed combat by switching from continuous dual wielding front faced assaults, to simply attacking with one blade leaving the other for defensive purposes. The simultaneous and quick change from the stance of precise and calculated attacks and defense to continuous attacks and vice versa often threw her tutor off balanced. She would go from attacking and defending at once, straight to a counter strike. It required a fluid and smooth transition from pressing a calculated assault and parrying an attack, to a quick and unexpected counter strike. Through the fruits of her labor and the masterful results of her artistic craft with a blade, soon, she was able to best her own tutor as well.

She continued to grow within her family to become the strongest Quincy to ever grace the Montero name. At the age of 17, she had grown up into a strong, beautiful and dependable woman. With Sofia’s innate power, she was bound to be able to carry on the family name. She continued to rehearse and practice her skill with the violin daily, just as she would with her Quincy training. Every week she would have at least one recital where she awed the audience every time. As far as her training, she had progressed further ahead than ever. In every training session, she would face off against both of her tutors using only her geigenbogen as either a bow or a sword. When using her geigenbogen as a sword, she would make recurrent use of her skill with Blut. And though she was capable of using both Blut Vene and Arterie, the majority of the time and her greatest ability lied in the defensiveness of Blut Vene. Though she was skilled and graceful enough to parry, deflect and avoid most hits, her Blut Vene aided her greatly. She was easily able to resist most moderate, and even some dangerously powerful hits with her Blut. Regardless of which form of her weapon she used, bow or sword, she limited to one or another in spars and never even had to resort to her main ability. Despite it, she always practiced it as it was, being based on music, a source of gratitude, enjoyment, and relief. It was also her preferred method for defending the family mansion against some of the recent threads of the lesser races.

With the drums of war sounding ever closer, the Montero knew there was not a lot of time left. It was rumored that the Demons were coming, and that time, they would conquer and remain. Staying behind, while glorious would prove to be fatal and unwise. It was pretty much within the Montero’s bloodline to be proud, but also to be wise and seek survival to fight another day. Despite Sofia’s interest in fighting to defend their home, she was cautioned not to. She was told her goal was to seek out the Wandenreich. She needed to find them. She needed to join them. She needed to help them push the Quincy to victory, and push aside the lesser and darker races so the Humans could once again reclaim the Earth that rightfully belonged to them.

On the year 2411, the Demons would see their forces invade, and conquer Europe. Spain unfortunately, was not exempt from the demonic calamity that befell the continent. In an attempt to enhance their chances of escape, the family would separate. Sofia was sent one way, and her parents would go a different route. Most of the servants would be left to their own accords, some attempting to flee with them, and some elsewhere to avoid the wrath of the beasts. While her parents did not perish that day that was the last time Sofia would see them. The chaos that ensued from the plethora of races in conflict made a possible reunion far too unlikely. Though bitter, her path was set, and she was welcomed it. Her family, though elsewhere, trusted in her to carry on with everything she had learned. They trusted her to be as strong as she could, and continue to make her family name proud.

After escaping, Sofia would spend the next few years looking for the Wandenreich. The task was not simple in it of itself. The organization had received multiple defeats on its past, and though many thought it to be defunct, she knew better. They would be difficult to find, but she knew she would find them one way or another; sooner or later. During her trek to them, Sofia continued to improve her skill. During her journeys, she would have the chance to test her abilities in training, and against the mindless beasts that sought to cause harm onto her and other Humans. She even managed to awaken the fabled release known as the Vollstanding. With it, Sofia was able to access new thresholds of power she never thought possible. Unfortunately, she did not meet a lot of individuals who could stand up to her, let alone her Vollstanding. As such, her training and perfection of her newly found art was usually delegated to practices on her own, or against some of the Quincy she has met along the way. Her Blut had advanced to such levels that her attacks caused much more damage, while alternatively sometimes she was able to resist incredible amounts of pressure while seemingly unharmed.

With her musical ability, she learned how to make specific music waves through detailed movements that would ignite and explode when near a source of energy other than her own. Her swordsmanship had also seen new thresholds of improvement, and her aim and control of her musical powers continued to impress even her. And, with more time and targets to experiment on, Sofia was even able to use her skills with Ginto techniques to create her own uniquely personal attacks and defenses by mixing ginto with her own abilities. Though she knew of no one in the Vandenreich, Sofia was certain she would be accepted. She might not have been the strongest Quincy alive, yet. But she knew, as the strongest Montero to have ever lived, that her abilities made her unique, powerful, and instrumental, and required in the quest of reclaiming the Earth for the Human and Quincy dominance.

New Chapters and The Present

Sofia would indeed find the Quincy and the Wandenreich. When she did, they were in a far more weakened state than they had thought. They still had a sensible organization, but their numbers were a far cry from what they had been. With her dedication, her skill, and her loyalty, the prodigy was able to secure the trust needed to take on a position that truly benefited from her skillsets. Acting as the Captain of the Jagdarmee, she did her best to make her parents proud as well as her peers. One of her childhood friends and current rival, Toshiko, had also been appointed as a Captain of the Daten department. As for the Elect, she seemed like a fair woman that frankly never had much interaction with the young girl. It almost didn’t seem like she cared save for when she did a job well done, but the acknowledgement was all she needed it.

In their ranks, the young Quincy, known as either The Prodigy or The Melody, helped make the organization far better as a whole. Her presence was a worthy addition as numbers increased shortly after. Sofia was known for being rather strict, instilling discipline, and punishing fairly those that broke the rules. She was a woman that was as harsh as she was beautiful, and her people were all the better for it. She did take a keen interest in bringing those of her kind together. The woman had noticed that despite their low numbers, there were vast amounts of Quincy that simply refused to align with them. Though for some reason or another, she never stopped believing that their homes and families were with one another, and started to seek and try to persuade those who had yet to.

Among her more notable of efforts was Gift. The man was an extremely powerful Quincy, easily among the top three strongest of his race at the time, and second only to their former emperor. For a long time he had shown a disdain, and even hatred towards everything that made them who they were. In an attempt to change that, Sofia sought him out despite the dangers of seeking someone that was not only vastly stronger than she was, but who also hated her. Still, her intellect and force of reasoning allowed her to have a rather fruitful conversation with the man. While he didn’t change his mind about joining at the time, Sofia managed to destabilize some his adamant frame of thought. Gift started to consider the idea that times were changing, and that perhaps the Quincy could be different and do different with someone like her in its ranks. And while that man has still to join their ranks, she truly believes it’s just a matter of time until he does.

Shortly after, combat was forced onto the new hierarchy of the Wandenreich. Trouble had been brewing in Chicago with the emergence of a deadly and then largely unknown virus. There were rumors of beasts of different levels of power roaming and destroying everything in their path. There were rumors of Demons instigating and bringing doom to an area that was already a nightmare. After some deliberation, their faction chose to step in. Several hundred men from different departments were instructed to fight off the Juin and the Demons in the area. As for Sofia, Toshiko, Sprache, and Niflheim, the group had a much more powerful force to contend with.

The Goliath Doll was an extremely powerful demonic giant. Its influence and power over the area threatened anything not aligned with its goals. Given its current power and that of the Quincy present, neither of them would have been able to face it alone and live to tell the tale. In fact, even when working together, the group had to try their best to push the Goliath back in order not just to win, but to survive. The battle would prove to be among the most difficult Sofia ever faced. It was also the very first where she had to give her all while fighting in a sort of team formation. Nonetheless, the group performed flawlessly, building on each other’s strengths as they pushed back the scourge.

Unfortunately, after the battle ended, it had opened Sofia’s eyes far more than it should. She had finally had her first taste of battle against a truly powerful behemoth of the Demons. The fact that such a being could wield so much power, and the notion that there were yet far more powerful entities in their ranks baffled her. She thought that regardless of what they did, staying idle and simply being a Quincy like her predecessors had would spell death for them. Whether erroneous or not at the time, Sofia was intent on acquiring power through any means necessary. She wanted to help the Quincy and help the Humans, and if that meant she had to drag herself through Hell and back, even if quite literally, she was ready to do so.

During extensive research and anecdotal evidence, the woman came onto something rather astonishing; the Eris Seal. There wasn’t much information about it saved for what she could gather from the archives and word of mouth. Still, she knew enough to figure out who among those potentially able to grant it she could find, and how to best appeal to their nature. In the end, she decided on Arianda Vael. The Demon was able to pass the mark, and if things went south, Sofia was fully capable of holding her own against her. In the end, her research proved correct, as the Demon had a real weakness for the female body, and that space between their legs. At the time, the Quincy had yet to do the deed with anyone. But as sentimental as something like a virginity was to most, she was willing to part ways with it in her quest for power.

Lo and behold, Sofia managed to present herself innocent enough and naughty enough to garner the attention of the Demon. With the promise of sex, she was able to secure the Eris Seal for herself. Of course, the event did lead to a sexual encounter between the two, one which Sofia didn’t pay much mind to despite the sensations that were obviously welcomed…possibly in part because of the seal. Little did she know that the events that unfolded that day would have even greater repercussions for her future in ways she couldn’t even fathom. Regardless, once the sexual escapade was done, Sofia would leave the scene, hardly ever seeing the Demon again. She had obtained what she went there to get, and she thought everything would be easier from thereon. It wasn’t.

Although she had read several articles detailing it, the writing had severely underestimated the effect of the Seal. The more noticeable sign was the fact that her eyes were no longer the brown they originally were. After receiving the Seal, they had turned to a demonic blood red. On most people the effects would have driven them insane with madness, lust, anger, or other feelings that would hardly desert them. Sofia was fortunate to possess such a string willpower and character as to try and preserve her values and consciousness as she was. Still, even with someone like her, the Seal had a number of effects, some of which she couldn’t tell until it was too late. The woman found herself making questionable decisions she would have never thought of before. She became more open to the idea of good and righteousness in beings she never thought it possible, like Hollows and Demons. During that time, she met the Hollow Yaksha, who helped her cement the idea that despite their reputation, some of their kind were actual decent.

She never did forget the reason why she went through the trouble of obtaining the Seal though. She used and siphoned its power to enhance her own, enabling her to create technology and techniques she couldn’t have otherwise. During that time, she managed to finalize her prototypes known as the Ginto Spheres. They were essentially larger, though portable spheres that could house a lot more reishi than typical ginto for far more powerful effects. But, unlike the white and holy techniques she was used to creating, as typical of the Quincy, it was quite the contrary. The Eris Seal twisted her power, making her techniques and creations far darker and macabre. It was the reason why Basatan and Nagini, two of her more monstrous looking creations turned out as they did during that time. Despite her efforts to try and create something powerful and beautiful, she ended up with dark and ugly, but powerful abominations instead.

During that time the girl saw even new leaps in her power. She became far cockier, and even had difficulty controlling her in situations that had been simple before. It didn’t take long for her to figure out that the benefit of the Seal had long run its course. She had created the Ginto Spheres and powerful techniques from it. Some of her reishi techniques were created and benefited from the increase in power and the darkness she possessed. Even her seele schneiders were modified to be far stronger as a result; but she had enough. The Seal was sending her spiraling down into a path she didn’t want to follow. If it was allowed to go on she would simply lose her mind and end a puppet like many who had been given the Seal had become.

To her shocking surprise, there were no accounts of anyone ever having been able to remove the Eris Seal. Perhaps it was because no one actually wanted to get rid of it, or perhaps because no one could. As much as she tried, she couldn’t get rid of it herself. No matter how much she read, or the techniques she created, it seemed as though she was destined to be stuck with it. It also wasn’t something she could parade around with, seeing its dark presence created a stigma that wasn’t easily understood by those that didn’t share her mindset. And so, in an effort to avoid shame from falling on her, Sofia went on a short but temporary leave of absence. Under the premise of coming closer to her own essence, she was truly just desperate to find the means to rid herself of the Seal. She needed to be pure again; she owed it to her family, her people, and herself.

Her search would eventually lead her into Ghislain, the former emperor of the Quincy. By then, due to her own battle efforts and the effects of the Seal, Sofia had grown far stronger than most Quincy she had met. The woman had long surpassed her fellow Captain Sofia, and even the current Elect Niflheim. Only the forest Quincy Gift, and the former emperor Ghislain stood as superior to her for the time being. To her surprise, Ghislain had the means to not only rid her of the Seal, but also to teach her of ways which their people had long forgotten. The idea seemed ludicrous, but she did not pass up the chance to try and rid herself of the cursed mark.

During their encounter, Sofia was finally freed from the effects and the presence of the Seal. As far as she knew, she was the only individual to have ever done something like that. The process was extremely painful. And while the Seal was gone for good, some minor changes to her personality would stay for better or worst. The techniques she had created during that time would also remain as a testament to the time where she did everything possible for the sake of power. Shortly after, the two Quincy, in a form of respect, faced each other off in a friendly spar. Despite no longer possessing the Seal, Sofia was able to truly appreciate how much she had grown ever since she obtained it.

In the battle she was pushed just as much as she had against the Goliath. Unlike in that fight however, the former emperor was far stronger and presented a far more difficult challenge. However with the number of skills and experience she had amassed since, Sofia surprised him by not falling back defensively but rather going on the offensive. She was able to not only slow down her opponent, but push him back into defeat as well. Pretty soon, the man had called the match off, calling it a draw despite the obvious result of the confrontation. In her mind, Sofia was elated. She had actually managed to best the strongest Quincy currently living, and that was an accomplishment she wouldn’t soon forget.

Staying true to his promise, Ghislain proceeded to instruct the girl about their Regalia. He even helped her find her own, Rona. As she became acquainted with it, Rona would become an integral part of Sofia’s arsenal. It was a beautiful silver and diamond ring in its travel form and an ornate blade on its weapon form. As for its origin form, it took on the look of a Siren, the being that matched quite well with Sofia’s melodic abilities. As a repayment, Sofia gave the hint as thought she was ready to do something she had before. The former emperor, like Arianda, had a certain weakness for the fairer sex. Unlike the other encounter, Sofia didn’t need it to get something, but she did offer it because she obtained a lot from it. He had after all helped the seal off of her, and showed her the means to access more power. Still, her more teasing side would show up as the woman essentially stopped the sensual action right as it was getting to the best part, suggesting the two tend to other businesses first. They never finished.

Ready and willing to learn more and be more, Sofia continued practicing the techniques and abilities she had learned. By then she had already returned to the Quincy, not as a lost being tainted with darkness, but as a pure white warrior ready to usher them to a new age. It was also around that time when Sofia was promoted from Captain of the Jagdarmee to the Sternritter Grandmaster. Her efforts and her power were already known throughout the realm as she finally took the spot of the strongest among her race. Even then, the girl wasn’t one to gloat. She knew that even at her level there were far too many powerful beings that outclassed her. It did not do her well to be cocky, so spent her time instead trying to push forward.

While her new position made it possible to advice the executive branch and help her men train, there was just so much she could find among her ranks as far as training partners were concerned. Toshiko had not been training as much, perhaps due to her new wife, and simply lagged far behind her. Niflheim was effectively lost in her own mind, hardly ever seen, let alone actually talking to Sofia. Luckily or unluckily for her, the Quincy was given the opportunity to face her toughest challenge yet. Thanks to Ghislain, she had managed to procure a meeting and a spar with the former Captain Commander of the Gotei, Tsubasa Unabara.

She was curious to see how the full extent of her powers would fare against him, and he was curious to see if the strongest member of the Quincy could survive a round against him. Unlike Ghislain, Tsubasa wasn’t nice or proper. From the get go he had gone with the intent to kill. He did not hold back any punches and it showed. With such a speed, Sofia couldn’t help but pool everything into simply staying alive. Without a doubt she had to use every skill at her disposal. Every attacking maneuver, and every defensive maneuver she could think was thrown into the battle as a means to ensure she didn’t die. In the end, she managed to surprise the former Captain Commander. He had thought she would have died far sooner, and given the pure display of feats he showcased, she was surprised she hadn’t. Living to tell the tale, Sofia became far stronger from the encounter and because of it. She even managed to help create new life, by donating some of her energy and her technology to Tsubasa and Crystal, for the creation of a project they dubbed, Angel. It wasn’t long after until she found her childhood friend, Anis, once more. The girl had been kidnapped and forced to fight for her life repeatedly. Her progress and training had been stunned, robbing her of the future she had. Still, she possessed massive amounts of power that displayed in wild and frenzied energy. So in an effort to offer her a new home, Sofia took her in, in hopes that discipline and nurturing could bring her up to where she was always meant to be.

With her power far higher than it's ever being, the girl sat idle for far too long. Despite being the Grandmaster she seemed to avoid and ignore any calling or idea she could have had of being the Elect. Still, she continuously made efforts to do things that were out of her job description. She sought out Quincy and tried to convince them to join. She trained most of her men and made sure to make discipline and rules paramount. In most senses she was actually the leader of the organization. In due time, it seemed as though Niflheim saw that too. In a rather close and intimate exchange of words, the Elect professed how proud she was of Sofia. She mentioned she had been watching her for quite a long time, and couldn’t be happier. As it stood, it looked as though at any moment, Sofia was about to step into the position of Elect within the Wandenreich, with Niflheim likely taking the position of advisor as the Sternritter Grandmaster.

Speaking of happier, lately Sofia has found yet another reason to smile. Among the latest recruits, though it could hardly be called that, is Demonica. The Demon, aptly nicknamed Monica had a rough and dark past that should have discarded any chance at redemption, let alone among the Quincy. But possibly since Sofia had gone through similar issues herself, she understood. She knew that Monica wasn’t beyond saving, and that her life could start anew if she simply did what she knew was right. More importantly, unlike every time in her past, Sofia actually liked Monica because she wanted to rather than because she had to. While there was certainly something to gain by having her on her side, she just enjoyed her and her presence. It was still far too early to tell, but it looked as though there was a growing relationship that could blossom beautifully between the two. With a powerful entity as herself to her side, the Quincy continue to grow in reach and power. And with new recruits continuously coming over and joining their ranks, their faction could see their golden times yet to come.

Quincy Profile
クインシー・レース

Items

Only a maximum of 5 Holy Charges can be generated per turn

Only one kind of summon may be present at a time (i.e Basatan)

Boosts that increase a specific stat can stack but to a maximum of three techniques at a time

Custom Seele Schneider Set (5): It didn't take long. Most of the items and even some of the techniques used by the Quincy seemed archaic and as such, rather dated. Sofia had always been one that enjoyed the renaissance and the creation of art through almost any means, though primarily through music. Though her tinkering started with her reishi manipulation techniques and the ginto, it quickly moved on to assess certain items in her arsenal that were very obviously lagging behind. One of them, was the Seele Schneider.

Using her own artistic and creative skills, her wealth and her resources, she was able to create a prototype Seele that fit her needs. She kept the details of the prototype largely a secret, as most traditionalists wouldn’t look kindly to messing with such a Quincy patrimony. In essence, the hilt is made from soul synthesized silver that's been treated and enhanced to be far stronger and more durable than a normal seele's and comparable in those areas to a zanpakuto. Alterations were made to the energy output of the "blade" to change its hue as well. Instead of the typical blue hue, her Custom Seele projects a green looking "blade" that resonates as they typically do. If desired, the ends of the hilts may be connected to make two seeles be one double bladed item. And going off the versatility of her own spirit weapon, any custom seele, either on their own or combined can be used as a blade, an arrow, or by pulling on the reishi around them in combination to her own skills, even a Quincy bow as well.

Three modules were fit into the handles of the Custom Seele to be able to control and exert minor changes. On module rests around the top of the hilt, one around the middle, and the last towards the bottom. A function not relying on modules though is that the the typical length of the blade may be controlled at will to be anywhere from half a foot longer to half a foot shorter than its typical standard length. Other than shock factor, it is simply a means to distract opponents in close combat. Only one module can be in use on each seele at a time, though wielding two of her seele would potentially allow her to activate one module in each for its stipulated duration or effect.

Spoiler:

Size Adjustment Button: This button applies a special 'effect' to whatever it is equipped to. As long as the object it is equipped to is related to the user's person and uses their reiatsu through it, it is able to interact with the user in the correct manner.

When the user presses on the button, it floods their reiatsu into their body itself, causing for it to expand. It creates a kind of spiritual 'armor' all around the user's body, allowing for to seem as if it is growing exponentially. As long as the user keeps supplying energy, their perceived size will continue to grow, until they are able to rival buildings, up to a maximum of 100 meters at tier 0-2+. At tier 1-1 the user is able to safely grow to 50 meters, and gains ten meters for each whole 'level' above that.

The amount of mass that the user has at their disposal does increase significantly, resulting in the force of physical attacks also rising. It would take a bit more out of the user to wield that much more of their body, naturally, but the effects would generally be considered worth that cost. If the user stays within this form for less than three posts upon the initial activation, they are able to press the button twice in a thread. Otherwise, they are only able to activate it once. In addition, if they stay in this form for longer than six posts, it performs a large drain on the user's energy to keep maintaining the enlarged state, consuming more and more energy for each post after that. For the most part the button is safely attached to her Quincy cross unless she applies it elsewhere.

Bells of Demon Warding: This item takes the form of a pin, that can be worn anywhere on the user's body. The first time this item is picked up and has energy moved through it, it 'imprints' on its owner, shifting its color to that of its wielder's passive aura. The pin changes in color in response to changes in its wielder's aura. The bells also take the shape of typical round bells, with holes etched into them with the shape of snow flakes.

When this item is touched, its user can insert their own spiritual energy. It takes a decent amount of energy to create an item from it; about the amount required to fire a cero. When the user finishes inserting their energy, they can remove their fingers from it.

From here, the user has two options. They can attach the bell in a loop by rubbing on their neck, leg, or wrists, causing a collar or band to appear. The second option is to merely press the bell against clothing or skin. From here, the bell will bind or create a piercing that molds onto the person's skin, painlessly pressing onto it to hold on. It is possible to rip off these bells or break the bands; their grips are only about as strong as iron.

The user can spawn mutiple bells by touching the first bell or the bands the bells are on, or new places on their skin or clothing. However, the effects of equipping multiple bells could be dangerous.

When the bells ring, they emit energy waves that sing outwards, interweaving with the sounds already being made. These energy waves of sound have a relatively passive effect; disrupting Death Energy and Za Koa. These usually malicously-aligned energies are disrupted by the bell's waves, by its ringing. The longer the constructs of these energies are exposed, the weaker these constructs become.

Each of the waves 'drags' energy from these constructs or effects created by these malicious energies, dispersing them and making it harder to keep those constructs together and effective. A user of the same level as the wielder of the bells would find their constructs be minorly affected by a single bell, see a decrease of up to thirty five percent by five, and a decrease of over fifty percent by ten. The stronger an opponent is from the wielder, or the greater the gap between the relevant energy stats, the harder it is for the bells to effect them, and the more bells are required to negatively impact their constructs.

For a person stronger than the wielder, having ten bells would likely result in a noticeable change, maybe up to reducing the effectiveness of such constructs by twenty percent. For a person weaker than the wielder, they would be affected much easier, to the point where ten bells ringing at once would make it difficult for twenty five percent of the original intended energy construct or attack to be properly maintained after a post of exposure.

Now, each of the bells works in a rather simple manner; they must be 'rung', and their ringing must be 'in time' with themselves and the bells around them. They can be influenced by a number of factors, including the user's own touch, their movements, and the sound of their music. What this means is that the less the user focuses on the bells and ringing them properly, the more chaotic the effect of the bells becomes.

For most users, this would translate into the bells causing a kind of 'washing over' effect from the malicious energy into their own energy constructs. For example, if the user had a musical field effect, and the bells began to go out of tune, then the malicious energy that was dispersed would begin to seep into their musical field, making it overall less effective, becoming less and less effective as the user pays less and less attention to it. This can get so bad that the amount of energy being dragged out of the enemy's abilities is next to nothing, and all the energy that is removed goes right back into the user's own constructs, making them much less efficient.

Now, for a person with Beginner focus, controlling more than a single bell would be next to impossible. For an Adept, controlling three to four bells becomes possible. For an Advanced, it becomes rather effortless to maintain up to five bells, and they can attempt more if they have them. A master is able to maintain ten bells without distraction, and a lower number without much problems whatsoever. A level of focus greater than this would result in the number of bells increasing or decreasing relative to the wielder's focus skill, but needless to say, they would be able to manipulate greater and greater numbers of bells simultaneously.

The bells are energy constructs, and the ringing that they perform are rather intense actions. This ringing causes for the bells to grow less effective as time passes. The risk and effort required to maintain them remains the same, however. The more of the bells there are, the more intense the ringing becomes, and the quicker they wear down. Essentially, five or fewer bells will start to deteriorate after three posts, and collapse completely by six posts. Five to ten bells will begin breaking down after about two posts, and be completely gone by four. Ten or more bells will often begin to lose their composition after two posts, and can be gone by four as well. However, the intensity of this decrease is substantially greater; by the time the third post occurs, the bells are substantially weaker than they were during the first and second post.

Once the bells have deteriorated, the user has the ability to choose to keep the dilapidated bells around, adding on new ones and making it more difficult but keeping the effect going, or taking a post to recover, tapping the pin twice to cause each of the bells they have called up to disperse. After a cool down of one post they can use their energy to begin making new bells.

Extra Feature: Bell Submission

By holding their finger over the bell for the length of a post, incapacitating one arm and spending a considerable amount of energy, the wearer of this bell pin can cause a kind of 'auto-pilot' mode. Essentially, this invites the bell to being 'regulating' the task of ringing the bells. The user no longer has to worry about making sure the bells keep ringing. They have to spend all the energy to create the bells, still, or maybe they feel the need to create ten new bells to deal with a situation while they have five old ones still around. A pressed into the corner type of situation.

In this case, the user may desire to activate Bell Submission. Bell Submission takes over the responsibility of ringing the bells, completely. It keeps them going in near-perfect harmony. It is not absolutely perfect, and may cause a slight decrease in the effectiveness of the wielder's energy constructs and effects in the general vicinity. But it greatly reduces the mental burden they experience.

However, Bell Submission has one major drawback. Depending on the user's level of Focus, the drawback will become more apparent. For a Beginner, it will set in after a post. For an adept, it'll set in after two. For an Advanced user, it will set in after three. For an Elite, it will go in after four. For skill levels higher than this, they will have up to five posts before this effect begins to set in noticeably.

The drawback takes effect over three posts. After the first post, the wielder begins to forget exactly what the bells are ringing for. It becomes apparent to them that the bells need to ring, and they remain mostly cognizant of their surroundings.

After the second post, they begin to lose awareness of the world around them, and begin to perform actions specifically to keep the bells ringing. If an enemy or other thing they care about comes close, they may be distracted enough to attempt to deal with it... but it will seem much more important to the wielder that they should be keeping the bells ringing, because of how deeply the auto-pilot functionality has meshed with their mind.

Finally, after the third post, the outside world fades completely. They become entranced by the bells, dancing and moving to keep the bells ringing in tune, replacing all other music and sound around their body with the sound. They become unable to hear anything but the bells, and they remain in this trance-like state until the bells have stopped ringing. Typically, this would only occur when they run out of spiritual energy, which could take any length of time... but it will leave the wielder extraordinarily vulnerable by the time it is finished.

Bell Submission has a cooldown period of six posts; to deactivate it, the user needs to tap the pin three times.

Ginto Spheres: Like many aspects of the Quincy, Ginto grabbed her attention rather early on. To that day, the art was rarely used as much as other elements deemed far better suited for a variety of needs. The concept behind them was simple: the use of a certain amount of spiritual energy within a soul synthesized contained to create mild to moderate effects. With all due reason, the art had been abandoned by most Quincy, and deemed archaic, obsolete, and downright inadequate by others. After all, why limit oneself to Ginto, which in it of itself was limited by the amount of energy they could hold, when one could just use the reishi in their surroundings. Besides, there were just so many ginto tubes that could be carried on one’s person at a time before it became troublesome. That notion was indeed true. In the end, Ginto seemed to be most useful either to the very weak, or those that were unable to control reishi to any real noticeable degree. It was that notion that made her even more interested in the seemingly lost and unloved art. Sofia loved a challenge, and she was positive there was beauty and greatness to be had of any righteous endeavor. Her dominion over reishi was known across the realm, her powerful techniques a testament to the overwhelming skill she possessed.

Despite having no need for Ginto, it was a challenge that she was more than eager to undertake. With time, and the resources allowed by the Wandenreich, she created something called the Ginto Spheres. They were simply spherical orbs that though not too big to be obtrusive could hold each as much 20-30 typical ginto tubes combined. Early into her developments, she also got her hands on the size enhancement technology provided by Dr. Hebi. It allowed her to maintain the size of spheres the same size, or even smaller as it compressed its dimensions. On command, they would simply expand to much more comfortable dimensions that housed vastly more energy within than before. For the time being, they’re unique to her, but they hold the promise of being extremely useful and powerful in the long run. Primarily made as a form to continuously enhance her own artistic creations and with a mentality that lately borders on the insane, Sofia has purposely chosen to keep the advent into these spheres only to herself. Essentially, they’re a compact housing in the form of a sphere that can be enlarged, and fits several times more energy than a typical Ginto would. In the end, it makes for a great variety of effects, with powers well beyond the original’s means.

Ginto Sphere Onyx: A the first in the line of Ginto Spheres, Onyx was the first attempt to better her new technology. The idea was to create rather useful technique that simply couldn't be obtained through the use of typical Ginto Tubes. By activating the sphere and throwing it, a flash of light seems to erupt from within the sphere, attracting, and pulling in any one energy technique. The Onyx Sphere doesn’t quite weaken, strengthen, or destroy the technique however. Instead, it works as it uses the large amounts of reishi within the sphere and Sofia’s own master control to activate it. All it really does is change the trajectory of said energy attack to a different location, by first diffusing the energy into the sphere, and firing out in the direction it came, like a magnet repelling one of the same polarity. By throwing an Onyx Sphere at a technique and throwing one elsewhere, Sofia can control the location at which the technique would exit from. Granted, if she does not toss a second sphere, the exit location of the blast will be randomized (with a dice roll 1d3), away from her: somewhere else in the vicinity, or against her foe.

However against truly powerful or weak opponents two or one sphere will be the only logical way to try and deal with them. How many spheres are needed and against who is ultimately decided by a comparison between the tier of the opponent, and Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery. At a reishi manipulation of advanced and elite, opponents two and one tier below hers respectively, will only need one sphere. By using just that one she’s able to direct where the attack will exit from and to. At a reishi manipulation of master, opponents the same tier as hers will only require one sphere as well without a need of the second. By using two spheres, she’s only able to increase its effects to opponent’s one tier higher than she could with one sphere depending on her mastery. When using only one sphere, is her unique ability, The Melody, that continually creates a field around her with energy; by the very nature of her ability allowing her to control direction and sway to a certain limited degree. If necessary, Sofia can consume five holy charges to allow the successful use of only one sphere, or the successful use of two, with an opponent one tier higher than she’s capable of affecting with current parameters; caps at 0-2++.

Regardless of whom it is used on, a successful use of one Onyx Sphere, will incur a three turn cooldown if used consecutively in two posts or more than one in one post. If however two Onyx Spheres are used at once, then a three turn cooldown would be in place right away. Of course, when used against opponent’s whose tier falls beyond her means of effect given the above parameters, the sphere has no effect. Regardless, by consuming two holy charges she’s able to reduce the cooldown by one turn, and by two if consuming four holy charges (cannot stack).

Ginto Sphere Zaffer: The second in the line of Ginto Spheres, was the first to backfire on her. After the success of the first sphere model, and with the size enhancement technology obtained by Dr. Hebi, she thought she could push the boundaries further. Reverse engineering the size enhancement technology gifted by the renowned scientists allowed her to push her design further. She could essentially compress the dimensions of two or three spheres into a single fist sized one, with much more energy to use. Her plan was to use the increase in power from the technology, the energy housed inside, and the great control she possessed over reishi to bring forth something rather majestic and powerful. She had envisioned a large scale creation whose power and light would shine brightly against her enemies.

However, there was a really important variable she did not account for; the Eris Seal. She never thought its power and influence would extend so far, and it caused the technique to change completely. The Seal did afford her an extra level of power, allowing her to perform greater feats than she could without it. At the same time, it had the effect of tainting not just her mind and her behavior, but the very nature of her powers and abilities. As a result, the technique, while powerful, turned into something rather dark, eerie, and macabre. While nonetheless proud of the artistic creation in the Zaffer sphere, this is not something Sofia shows about too often, or uses it too heavily; in fact, she has only used it once in battle. No Quincy should have as dark and demonic a technique as this. Therefore, she tries her best to hide it, and use it only when necessary, as to avoid the questions or the comments that may arise as to the nature of her powers. In the end, it is a priceless work of art, but one that showcases a horrific look that’s quite in contrast to her original trek for beauty in creation.

Upon throwing the Zaffree Sphere, the energy contained within creates a sort of chemical reaction when exposed to Sofia’s. It causes the sphere to implode, and water-like energy to drip out of it before turning dark blue as if influenced by a form of energy that was anything but truly maleficent. Upon imploding, the remnants of the sphere raise up into the sky, creating a monster that resembles a dark shell containing an even darker pearl-like head within. The monster is rather large, with dimensions that near 50 meters in diameter, and answers to the name of Basatan. When summoned, Basatan possesses a 0-5 tier, and while it cannot use all the abilities Sofia can, it has access to her Melody ability to the same extent, and a few unique to himself. Regardless, the beast can only visit the battlefield once, and for a maximum duration of six posts. Once the number of turns have elapsed, he laughs a thunderous roar and disappears, not to be called upon again.

Spoiler:

Ginto Sphere: Vermillion: The third model in the line of Ginto Spheres, Sofia has once again managed to overcome the difficulties to create something new and innovative. Ginto Sphere: Vermillion is the first of her attempts at creating something that’s neither designed for offense, nor completely devoted to stop an advance either. By using the success she had on her previous two models, Ginto Spheres Onyx & Zaffre, the Quincy prodigy decided to test just how different and unique of an effect she could create from Ginto technology. By then, she was already aware of the effect the Eris Seal was having on her energy and her creations, so the result wasn’t a surprise. The result was that of a red sphere, just smaller than her fist, and not unlike the look of the previous two models. Within it, large amounts of energy from Ginto and her own energy were fused in near perfect reaction for the desired effects.

When used, the sphere implodes into a subtle red smoke. The action doesn’t damage Sofia or the opponent at all. The red hue of the smoke is not too thick either so visibility is completely unaffected by this technique. Within seconds the smoke dissipates. And though nothing seems to have occurred, the next available violent interaction or clash between the musical prodigy and her opponent would trigger its ability. Vermillion creates a form of paradigm, where Sofia’s energy signature is the stable basis of balance. Every other force or form of energy, regardless of type of construct is treated as different and foreign so long as it’s not created by her. With that, Vermillion is able to instantly swap one similar quality/attribute between two different forces temporarily; Sofia’s and someone else’s temporarily.

For instance, should Sofia and her adversary be running towards one another with a knife on hand, and the opponent happen to be much faster and physically stronger than Sofia, then Vermillion could switch the either the speed or the strength (only one) between them, though just for the duration of the current action. However, the Vermillion Sphere is limited to only one attribute at a time, and only one attack or force at a time. What that means is that in the same scenario, Sofia could either swap the speeds of the incoming attack with her own or she could swap the power being delivered by the thrust of the knife. However, she cannot do both at once. Bear in mind that the technique doesn’t just work if its in Sofia’s favor. Trying to use its effects to swap the temporarily switch an attribute with an opponent’s could gift her enemy a stronger skill if they were genuinely lesser than hers. Again, this simply switches a commonly shared attribute between to forces [attacks], it does not affect or switch thereon the masteries of those present. It's only pertinent to the action its used on.

When using two Vermillion Spheres at once though, the effects change some. Instead of swapping attributes of incoming forces, the two would create what she calls one of the best tricks in the book. When an attack that a potential form of damage or debilitating effect is used against two Vermillion Spheres, then Sofia using a maneuver that doesn’t induce harm or any debilitating effect will cause hers to always land first despite the speed of the attack or the enemy, or its nature either. It has no effect on the opponent’s technique whatsoever, it simply allows Sofia to deliver hers first. Even then, her maneuver cannot be one that causes damage otherwise the action does not work. A successful use of either a single or double Ginto Sphere: Vermillion would also incur a 3 & 6 post cooldown respectively. However, by consuming 3 holy charges, Sofia can reduce its cooldown by one turn. The effects cannot stack, so consuming 6 holy charges would do nothing.

Ginto Sphere Nagini: The fourth installment in the line of Ginto Sphere models. By then the Quincy was far better acquainted with the technology, and how far it could be pushed. It was also around the height of the influence from the Eris Seal. But unlike in the previous models. she simply embraced and welcomed the darkness, and it showed on the rendition of her technique. By meshing her skills with the remaining influence from the Seal of Eris, the size enhancement technology obtained from Hebi, and the progress and technology of her gintos and soul synthesized silver, she managed to create an item to build on the success of her second model.

When tossed, the sphere breaks open into a beam of blinding silvery light that quickly turns a dark hazy gray, before finishing into a cloud of black smoke that disappears rather quickly. At its wake, a rather large beast that goes by the name of Nagini is created. The creature is an extremely large basilisk, with a total length from head to tail of about 50 meters. The basilisk is able to speak every language that Sofia is capable of speaking herself. At the same time, Nagini is able to communicate with Sofia via the hissing sound typical to snakes and through telepathy. Anything either of the two see, is able to be transmitted instantly to each other as if they were the ones seeing it.

In the Nagini Sphere, Sofia sought to create a beast she considered to be the equivalent to her battle style. The basilisk displays both raw power in its attacks yet extremely fast speeds to just barely exceed Sofia’s own. It moves with an unyielding grace and a lethal intent that’s just uncanny in its similarity to the renditions of her art and the combat style that prizes creativity. Nagini’s tier is roughly about one full tier lower than Sofia (i.e. 0-4 & 1-4). Because the power and the unique abilities it possesses, the Nagini Sphere has a finite stay out in the field; 8 posts. And despite her attempts, Sofia has no means to recalling him for the remainder of the thread.

Spoiler:

Ginto Sphere Weiße Herrschaft: Sofia utilizes the might of her ginto spheres to affect the her surroundings. By using her dominion over reishi and tossing the sphere, it explodes, laying down a domain in the realm around her in the form of an extremely dense, but personal reishi mist that sets in for the first post after use. It is for all intents and purposes an unassuming fog which will allow for the realm around them to be swallowed up in the white blanket of fog. The fog extends up to a maximum distance of 250 meters from wherever Sofia stands, and as is kept nurtured by her energy, moving or trying to blow it away is in vain. During this first turn, the energy is super-saturating the realm around her, creating a space of Sofia’s own energies. Utilizing the concept of the reishi manipulation upon the second turn Sofia is able to then draw from that radius to increase her own reishi manipulation for the following four turns. This in turn works because of the concept of domination of the realm or area around her, she has essentially so from the first turn to then use that energy to continue to bolster her skill.

The first thing that happens is that her reishi manipulation techniques or those that rely on it or for its effects travel 20% faster and are 20% more effective in their nature within her created domain. Given this ability focuses on using the super-saturated reishi in the air around her as a conduit of sorts to bolster her remaining abilities there is an increased drain on Sofia’s body when doing this, comparative to about a gran rey cero’s worth of energy being drained from her each turn for the four turns of use.

The only other major thing of note with this ability is that because she has taken and supersaturated this space with spiritual energy she is capable of terminating the ability early and drawing all the energy inside and putting into a singular attack to increase it by 50% of its max power. This is done because all this energy that is saturated in the air around her is being capable of being drawn in and utilized to bolster the attack in question so that it works somewhat similar to when you put kerosene on an open fire. The same concept is here, this is super condensed saturated reishi that is being put on the surface of the attack in question, and that reishi is used bolster the attack. Finally after being used for the four turns it takes in a 2 turn cool down. After which it can be used again. Even if Sofia were to finish the technique earlier, say, in the third turn, the cooldown would still be in effect.

The Mark of Cain

Story: The Mark of Cain is a both a seal and a curse unique to Sofia. It originated as a Seal of Maris; a certain mark of power and ownership with a strong link to the Demon Queen Mana. In her quest for power years back, the young Quincy came into contact with knowledge of such a seal and the positive and negative effects it could have. In an effort to secure extra power far above her race, she did what she deemed necessary to try and get a hold of it, and she did. With the Seal she was able to tap into levels of power she never thought possible. She also twisted that power of a Quincy into a fashion the likes of which her kind could not realistically replicate. Once the Seal and its benefits had ran their course she chose to rid herself of it, though that was no easy task. To her knowledge no one had ever been capable of doing so, and for a good reason. Despite her prowess it seemed futile. She instead turned to her skill in allure and manipulation to try and get one of her peers, the former Emperor of the Quincy to try and remove the seal. His skill with that specific art far surpassed her own, and he was the best bet to get it working.

After his intervention the seal was seemingly removed for good, but not for long. For some time Sofia enjoyed the grace and feeling of pureness. While she was always a pure Quincy, she felt cleaner. With the advent of the most recent world war, her powers and her mind were pushed to the edge yet again. This in turn caused a new sea, the cursed Mark of Cain to resurface. It looked distinctly different than the old Eris Seal, but it had similar effects, to a point. This time however, not only could Sofia not control it, but even the individual that had given her the Eris Seal had no means to control the Mark of Cain either. It seemed to have a mind of its own, and it was intent on devouring and swallowing the Quincy whole. Through training and aid from a former enemy turned lover, Sunshine, she was able to embrace the brewing darkness and lay claim and control over her own seal. The Mark of Cain is no longer something she wants to get rid of, but rather a tool for battle and a source of power she intends to keep forever on.

Design: When she wills it her seal will begin to expand and change into a very specific and fitting design. From its miniscule wing like pattern to the back of her left shoulder, it would begin to wrap around her neck. It results in what looks like a necklace with threads that resemble the lines or scores on a music sheet. The necklace-like tattoo goes down to her breasts like a second layer of skin. It wraps around the nape of her neck but also comes up to both sides of her neck. The triple lines go up her cheeks and connect to the underside of her eyes, like tears. It also has the effect of creating a larger and more noticeable eyeshadow. Her spiritual energy will also either change in color or at least present subtle hues of purple and black.

Sofia Montero [Approved 0-4++/0-3++] [Hazard Rating S] IpTfKin

Battle Effects: During battle Sofia will gain an edge in certain areas while paying a hefty price accordingly. Her tier will increase by a variable of “+” (meaning for example 0-3 to 0-3+) to a maximum of 0-2++ (unless otherwise approved in the future). Due to using the presence and influx of the Mark of Cain as a source, the power of her reishi based abilities and the speed of its moments and hers are increased by x1.5. The Mark of Cain can be kept active for five posts, once per fight. Regardless of how long the Mark is active, her physical strength is reduced by x1.5 for its entire duration, by x0.75 for a total of four posts once its stopped. Using The Mark of Cain during Vollstandig is extremely dangerous and something she tries to avoid. Vollstanding causes the increases to reflect the power and be more akin to x2. More importantly, there’s an extra cost to the use of the Mark, that's not quite as evident. If the battle has not ended by the time the Mark of Cain is no longer active then Sofia will receive punishment in the form of a huge cut to her energy reserves. ⅓ of the damage inflicted to her foes will be mirrored in her reduced energy reserves for not being able to finish the fight.

Regalia

Regalia Name: Rona

Regalia Type: Noble Mythic

Regalia Travel Form Appearance: During most occasions, Rona takes the form of a rather ornate and expensive looking ring. It seems to be made out of highly prized and sought after materials, namely gold and silver. The tonalities are presented in a way that speaks to both its artistic portrayal and a beautiful craftsmanship. In addition, one area of the ring is lined up with a row of multiple small diamonds of the purest kind. And to finish off the piece with a more personalized look, the ring possesses an emblem a letter that can read either M or W depending on it is looked at. Regardless it’s a befitting symbol for Sofia as it could potentially indicate both her letter M, for The Melody, and the letter W, for the Wandenreich.

Sofia Montero [Approved 0-4++/0-3++] [Hazard Rating S] DdQzcLZ

Weapon Form: When called into its weapon form, the ring glows and disappears before appearing once more in the form of a sword. The handle seems to be made of a rare and expensive sort of wood of a relatively light tonality. It allows for one hand to be placed comfortably, with enough room to slide some up and down. Silvery white steel adorns the pommel, capable of being used as a weapon for striking. Half a handguard provides just enough protection while adding a certain unique element to the sword. The blade length is roughly around 26 inches, made of an extremely resilient steel that gives off a bright and radiant look. A wave like pattern in blue, like a wave, extends from the half guard and halfway towards the body of the blade.

Sofia Montero [Approved 0-4++/0-3++] [Hazard Rating S] LaPeSoC

To follow suit with the versatility of her equipment, the weapon can be fired as an arrow would from one of her bows if she so desires. However, as a built in mechanic of the blade, should the sword be separated from Sofia in any way, she can will for it to dematerialize and materialize back into her hands.Summoning the Rona blade grants Sofia one holy charge, while summoning her in her origin form grants her two.

Abilities

Healing Song: In origin form, Rona casts the technique by singing. On its weapon form, Sofia just has to grip her blade, as a musical vibration fills the air along with her own Melody to create an upbeat and whimsical tune. The song resonates with the energy in her vicinity and with hers. In doing so, it causes the energy to visible adhere to her body. It tends to prioritize cuts, scrapes, wounds, lacerations and other injuries be they external or internal. The more dangerous and advanced the level of injuries, the longer it takes for them to heal. The rate at which she heals however, is not just dependent on how serious her injuries are, but how well versed she is in her reishi manipulation mastery.

At a mastery of elite, cuts and scrapes, bruises, and first degree burns are typically heals within the same post. Larger cuts and slashes, stabs, or poisons that hinder her movement and thought typically take an extra turn to heal. More dangerous and obvious injuries such as a far deeper wound that bleeds profusely, a largely invasive poison, or a severed limb, typically require two extra turns to heal. At master, large cuts, slashes and stabs, and poisons that hinder her tend to heal within the same post. Far more dangerous and invasive poisons, and truly dangerous wounds that bleed profusely tend to heal after one turn. The Quincy can certainly use the technique to heal others. It just requires she places her hand on them after activating it. The effects are still governed by the parameters mentioned above, and the potential cooldown are still present as shown below.

The possible cooldown available to this technique depends on how heavily its used. Wounds that are healed within the same post typically require no cooldown unless the technique is used for three consecutive posts. Then it would certainly incur a cooldown of about three turns. If however, the technique is used where it requires healing that taxes it to extend beyond the current post, then it incurs a three post cooldown upon finishing. Although the use of healing song does not grant a holy charge, the next technique used within the same post which grants it would have its holy charge earning doubled.

Music Blasts: Either from the blade in its weapon form a shot or as a slash, or from Rona’s mouth in Origin Form, Sofia is able to project an extremely loud sound that’s comparable to a form of song that’s simply played way too high. The sonic blasts do not contain any mass and therefore do not possess any density; all they do is overly pressurize the air and push forth the waves of sound at extremely fast speeds. The ability can only travel up two speeds of Mach 2 typically, and Mach 4 in release. Still, music blasts travelling at such a speeds, and with the levels of energy from Sofia backing it means they are capable of a great deal of damage. The sounds are rather loud and deafening, almost like a Banshee’s screech. This song isn’t mean to allure and bring forth, but rather to attack and let her presence be known. In fact, the decibel count it’s so high that it can easily shatter common glass construct with ease, even when fired over 10 meters away from it. Naturally, the song is calibrated in a peculiar way as to avoid causing any hearing loss to Sofia, though the same isn’t true for her allies.

The main goal of the blasts is to weaken incoming energy attacks, and it does it quite well. That aspect can be turned on and off, so the technique can be used simply for its destructive aspect without necessarily relying on its foundational motive. To its destructive capabilities, it should be noted that each blast can completely pulverize human sized rocks into a very fine sandy dust. Houses can be sent into ruins, leaving only rubble at its wake, and several trees can be uprooted with a single swing. As for its energy destabilizing effects, its tied in with her reishi manipulation mastery and the opponent’s overall power. For instance, at a mastery of elite, the technique is able to completely destroy energy attacks from opponents four tiers below her. It will destabilize and weaken energy attacks by 75% from opponents three tier lower than her, 50% if two tier lower, 25% if one tier lower, and 10% if of equivalent tier. At master, the technique is able to completely destroy energy attacks from opponents three tiers below her. It will destabilize and weaken energy attacks by 75% from opponents two tiers lower than her, 50% if one tier lower, 25% if of equivalent tier, and 10% if one tier higher.

If used during Vollstanding, each circumstance allows her to destabilize 25% more of the energy attack than she could outside of release. If using the music blasts solely for its destructive offensive ability, then there’s no real cooldown so long as they’re not used consecutively for three posts, or three times in one post. In that case, the technique would incur a three post cooldown. If however its used for its energy destabilizing effects, it incurs a cooldown of three turns after use. The use of this technique grants Sofia a holy charge if using its basic destructive nature, and two holy charges if using its energy destabilizing effects. If required, consuming 15 holy charges would allow Sofia to increase the destabilizing effect of the technique once, by roughly half of what it would have done (i.e. from 10% to 15%).

Gift of the Mermaids (passive): In mythology, Mermaids by mere nature most often lived in water. At will, Rona is able to control existing bodies of water or create them herself. Either through her mind or through the sword in Weapon Form, Rona is able to either utilize the available moisture in the air or water in her vicinity. If need be however, the ability literally exchanges reishi in the vicinity or energy expelled from Sofia to convert it into water. It’s almost as if Rona was trying to recreate a visualization of her home through any means necessary. Sofia gains the ability to breathe underwater.

The water can be controlled to be fired like straight beams, or in the form of bubbles or any aspect Sofia desires. In doing so, she’s also able to manipulate how thick or thin, or long or short the projections of said water techniques are. Following suit with the versatility of water, and Sofia for that matter, the variety of constructs and possibilities with the ability enables her to make use of it in either an offensive or defensive manner. However, there are limits as Sofia can't simply create an ocean's worth of water with a single swing. It should be noted that neither the Rona blade nor the former on its origin form can wrestle water away from a dedicated user, just like they can’t wrestle her creations from her. To be noted is that Gift of the Mermaids isn't a technique or an the action she uses to generate the water techniques. Instead, it simply describes a range where in which her techniques can potentially work as further detailed in the spoilered section below.

Spoiler:

Rona’s Grace (passive): Whether on origin or in weapon form, Sofia obtains a boost to her speed that is highly dependent on her current setting and location. So long as there’s a body of water within 400 meters of the Quincy, then she’s able to enjoy a 10% increase to her general speed and hirenkyaku. When traveling underwater, Sofia enjoys a 25% increase to her general speed and hirenkyaku; it cannot stack with the boost received outside of the water. By expending 7 holy charges, Sofia is able to double, in a burst, the percentage increase of this technique, but only for the current post, and to a maximum of 50% whether in or out of the water. Essentially the burst would be gone on the next turn, and while it would take 7 holy charges to reach the max under water, it would take 21 charges to max out for just that post on the surface.

Mythical Beauty: There’s no real tell tale sign from this technique, other than a very faint pink glow at the base of the Rona sword if in weapon form, or at her hand if in origin form. The glow would remain for an additional two posts after being cast. If the opponent is touched by Sofia or by the blade, then their mind would register something interesting rather fast. They would see in Rona or Sofia, essentially the one individual or look they found to be the most beautiful, whatever that is. It's not so much an illusion but rather a form of juxtapose picture the energy in the vicinity creates. The effect it has on the opponent is leaving them in a momentary lapse of motion and mind, that keeps them still just for a split second. The effect doesn’t last long at all, just simply enough to finish the remainder technique. The remainder of the technique is delivered quickly in a fraction of a second in the form of a strong slash across their bodies that sends them several meters away beyond the damage it creates.

Because the action and the effect happens so quickly and doesn’t last that long, its highly likely to hit. But, alas, there are certain ways to avoid even falling to its effect. If an opponent’s focus mastery is higher than Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery they would be able to overcome its effect. Typically, casting the technique does not create any need for a cooldown. However, successfully completing the technique causes a cooldown of about three turns. By consuming 14 holy charges, Sofia is able to heighten the effects of the technique to prevent those with a focus higher than Sofia's reishi manipulation, from being able to escape due to the effects of the ability being heightened (outside of grandmaster), though it also increases the cooldown to four turns. Still, even then it just moderately affects those of a higher focus, causing them to lose focus for that split second. Those with a equivalent mental deduction stat can see through the effects of this technique, whereas when heightened, being higher than Sofia's when heightened is the means of seeing through it.

Origin Form Appearance: Rona’s Origin Form is that of a Mermaid. Though her human body is roughly about 6’0” feet tall, the length of her mermaid self is about 10” feet from head to tail. As a testament to some of the tales of her kind, she’s as elegant and powerful as she’s beautiful. While typically found within a body of water in her more comfortable mermaid body, if desires, she’s capable of changing her tail into a pair of legs to walk around. Regardless of her form, she has fair light skin, similar to that of Sofia’s. Her eyes radiate a light baby blue mixed with a soft forest green. And her hair displays the soft pink look in her strands, which is visible on the color of her scales in her mermaid form.

Natural Abilities and Skills

Master Archer: From an early age, Sofia has been trained as a Quincy. She actually started training much earlier than most out of their parents fear that her love and talent for music would push her to pursue a life that revolved around it. With a tutor specifically assigned and renowned in the skill, she would be under constant tutelage for years. Through repeated practice, she was able to get sufficiently proficient where she easily hits the targets she aims at. As more time has passed, hitting the bullseye in the run or on uncomfortable positions has become no more difficult to her than doing so upright. Thanks to her geigenbogen and the fact that its familiar shape translates so well to other aspects of her life led her to practice a lot more. Sofia has even managed to heightened and perfect her skill in archery by purposely making her shots more difficult. Using her unique ability, The Melody, she purposely changes the trajectory of the arrows to be able to hit oddly positioned targets. Though it works differently, it has helped her to hit targets when simply using her geigenbogen with much more ease.

Expert Swordsman: Sofia has gone from being a student of the blade, to truly understanding it through, and even beyond to create an art out of it. Though her geigenbogen can be used as either a sword or a bow, she usually starts most spars treating it as a sword. In combination, she usually employs a selee as she’s extremely proficient in dual wielding blades. When left with only one, however, her redistributed focus and attention allow her to be even more precise. By studying her swordsmanship tutor lessons and his experiences, Sofia was able to think in retrospect and slowly discover the style that would suit her best. Rather than strength, she focuses on speed, momentum, and graceful and sometimes unorthodox movements to overpower her opponents. Just like she had her own style of finger placed on the violin, and the unique movements when she played with her violin bow, she was able to find her own unique take and preference for bladed combat. Rather than going all out with strength, leverage, momentum, turns, and graceful movements would allow her to use those advantages in her favor whereas a reliance on strength on her part would have done her no good. By exploring and replicating the calm, and fluid movements she used during her violin recitals, she was able to create a just as smooth and fluid bladed combat style that was truly her own.

She would prioritize tight but smooth bladework that emphasized a lack of exposure to incoming hits. Through her style, she discovered she enjoyed and preferred her movements to follow focused, and elegant transitions that prioritized the unilateral balance of her body and footwork to outmaneuver her opponents. Just like when she played the violin, Sofia never seemed to be distressed or alarmed whenever she used her blades. She always appeared calmed and steady, replicating the quiet and calm postures of a violinist performing an orchestral piece. when using two blades at once, Sofia would switch up between two variations.

During her travels she has the opportunity to face up to some of the strongest and most accomplished swordsman across the realms. The Quincy has gone up against Ghislain, who at the time proved showed her skill in the blade she had only seen in herself. Facing him a couple of times, the girl observed his style, and the inherent difficulties and advantages it presented over her own. Like with the others, it was the necessary step and experience required to continue improving and polishing her own. The young prodigy also had a chance to meet her blade with that of Henrex and Hayden, the Captain of the Gotei’s Stealth Division, and the then Leader of the Vanguard and current King of Vastime. Without a doubt the two possessed incredible power through the use of the blade, and through very different means and styles. With every new opponent Sofia learned more and continuously worked to improve her on. Her toughest foe would also be the one to show her the greatest skill in that department, Tsubasa. With an incredibly superior level of energy and a mastered and controlled skill with his sword, he showcased a style that though no too different from her own was a on completely different scale. By facing up against all those individuals and others no less notable, Sofia has been able to increase her already heightened skills with the blade to completely new thresholds.

Spoiler:

Amazing Violinist: From a very young age, Sofia showed interest, talent, and skill in music in general. That talent and interest would be put into intensive training with the violin. Thanks to her innate gift, she was able to become quite proficient with the violin at an early age. And in her teens, she was already considered as good as a professional musician. Her dedication and drive in the musical field were such that it became the means through which she was able to perfect her Quincy training. Music helped her understand and get used to summoning her spirit weapon. Fate would have it that her own spirit weapon would be closely related to music as would be her own unique power.

Quincy Profile
クインシー・レース

Unique Ability

"M" The Melody: Sofia’s unique ability as a Quincy is known as The Melody. Her energy allows her to use her mind, her body, her geigenbogen or a sword to direct and control its movements. Sofia is able to create musical waves that can be used in a variety of ways. She’s able to fire waves of musical melodies that can range in their level of force to the point of being highly destructive, and travel extremely fast. Typically the musical waves however are controlled by Sofia’s mind. But, as mentioned below, using her hands or her weapons can work even better. Despite the benefits of guiding an attack with her mind, that of being faster its actual delivery, guiding them with a weapon or her hand allows the melody to move roughly 25% faster than normal.

She is however able to affect all of her energy abilities with the melody, by either making them a little bit faster, slower, or altering their trajectory. The musical waves cannot be seen since sound is not a visible or tangible material. It is however typically easy to hear due for obvious reasons. As far as its sound, not only will those around her hear the melody of her ability, but they would be able to notice differences in the tunes and the beats of each. While the same move would not likely be played the same way, similar moves would have very similar tempos.

Fast attacks would display fast beats, and slow and powerful attacks would display longer notes. In cases where they’re made strong enough to be destructive, another tell tale sign is the way the area changes around the incoming attack, like a forceful gust of wind encroaching on the area. It should be noted however that though it resembles it, this ability is not wind manipulation and control, even if certain areas do crossover. The ability of the Melody can be likened to it due to the effects it has, but its peculiarities certainly put it on a class of its own. As should be obvious, Sofia is unable to steal or wrestle away wind waves from an opponent with such a power, since that isn’t her ability either way. Likewise, an opponent cannot wrestle the gusts of winds created from her ability as its heavily changed by her unique Melody to be something else entirely.

For the most part, the power of her ability relies on the concussive power of the abilities kinetic energy. It is the force of the musical blast hitting against an opponent that drives the force, like a hammer. However, she’s able to create slash a musical wave of varying power and speed that its very sharp in nature. Rather than hitting and pushing away, an attack like that would be meant to meet and slice what lied before it. Her musical ability bears great resemblance to her spirit weapon and its versatility. The latter it's able to be used as both a sword and a bow. Not unlike it, her ability allows her to mold it to fit her needs, just as she’s able to play the right notes on her violin to listen to the music she wants to play. Because of the nature of her ability, it is not unlike Sofia to use her musical power to run some of her reishi or ginto techniques through it. And, though used sparingly, she may also use her ability to create literal waves of musical melodies she can ride, as if surfing the waves of noise. As a general rule, the musical abilities created through The Melody can travel up to speeds of Mach 3 on base.

Spoiler:

Racial Skills & Abilities

Blut: A very useful and powerful ability that’s unique to the Quincy. Sofia is essentially capable of allowing reishi, of which she has a great control of, to freely flow through her into her blood and her vessels. The technique has an offensive and a defensive mode she’s able to switch into in order and greatly enhance her abilities. The two forms are known as Blut Vene and Blut Arterie. Regardless, it's not possible for her to use both of them at the same time, since the strain would be far too great and cause her to destroy her body. Instead the Quincy has to make sure to think carefully and gauge when it's best to use one or the other.

Blut Vene: The defensive mode of Blut, it enables Sofia to whistand far more punishment and attacks than she otherwise could. This ability on top of her durability allows her to whistand some damage like that of a blade, that she simply couldn’t without it. When this ability is used at a blut mastery of adept, Sofia is able to withstand sword slashes from opponents three tiers lower than her without issues or a scratch, two tiers lower at advanced, one tier lower at elite, and of equivalent tier at master. The previous also applies to energy attacks. However, if blut vene is used consecutively for three posts then it incurs a cooldown of two posts. On the other hand, she’s able to fuel up her blut vene for a truly powerful defense where it essentially doubles the power of her blut for the duration of the current turn. In that scenario, it increases the parameters described above by one tier in each circumstance.

Spoiler:

Blut Arterie: The more offensive leaning form of Blut. By pushing reishi into herself, Sofia is able to use this ability to increase the power of her physical or energy attacks. Essentially, Sofia is able to increase the power from the latter by about 20% for the duration of the current post. However it cannot be used more than once a post, and if used consecutively for three posts it incurs a cooldown of about three turns. Likewise, she’s able to push it even further by using her blut arterie to increase the power of physical or energy attacks for the duration of the post to double what they otherwise would’ve been. However it comes at the cost of a four turn cooldown right away.

Hirenkyaku Expert: Throughout her years of training, Sofia managed to become extremely adept at the use of Hirenkyaku. In many of her recurrent practices throughout the years, she would be pit against her highly skilled tutors without being allowed to summon a spirit weapon. She would be left to her own devices, specially the use of her speed to continuously try and avoid their attacks or otherwise risk being harmed. As she became aware and proficient of other abilities like The Melody and her own improvement in archery, Sofia started to use even more complicated training schemes to make it all more difficult. In order to find herself firing tougher shots or under more uncomfortable situations, she usually made use of her skill with hirenkyaku, and it was that recurrent use and practice that allowed her to be as proficient in the art as she is. Lacking the necessary strength to succeed in bladed combat, she found the answer by relying on momentum, graceful movements, and speed. And so, in an effort to cover her hand to hand combat weakness and her low physical strength, speed became the catalyst she exploited to be able to shorten the gap left by her strength limitations. As such, easily able to travel long distances in a relatively short amount of time, most have difficulty following her trail. In fact, some have even spoken about subtle light blue flames that are left on her wake whenever she uses the ability.

Spoiler:

Immense Spiritual Power: Sofia possess a vast amount of spiritual energy that revels in a rather peculiar aspect of her personality. Even when she’s agitated in battle, her reiatsu is perceived as being calm, and soothing. Not because it seeks to appease those around her however but seemingly as if readying to pounce. In essence, her spiritual energy is not at all unlike her behavior as a musical genius. When playing her violin or using her skills in battle, she has discovered than being still, being silent, and being in tune with what’s around her in the most serene of nature allows her to be more cognizant. Likewise, even when she releases all her might, her spiritual pressure feels subtle and perhaps even inviting. It doesn’t quite push against an individual forcing them away. Instead, its as if a subtle breeze suddenly brushed past an individual, grappling them and pulling them as in a form of gravitational pull. No such thing actually occurs however. Its simply the serene nature of her energy that makes it so easily disregarded. Those that feel the unfortunate outcome of her rage however would soon notice that the bigger the difference in power, the more dense and heavier her energy feels. And though seemingly calm and steady all the way, the weight of its very existence continues to increase exponentially as the difference in power of the individuals increases by comparison.

Ginto Expert: Being taught how to use basic Ginto techs from a relatively young age, Sofia was a prodigy that was strongly against being left behind in other Quincy departments. She saw the seeming lack of interest in Ginto techniques as an encouragement to try and create art out of it. By using her own ideas, she was able to craft useful techniques throughout the years that made use of Ginto’s limited but versatile effects. While she will most often resort to a blade or her other abilities, she believes Ginto is a necessity for situations when a Quincy has no other choice but to resort to them when reishi is scarce or unavailable for some reason. Likewise, she has even been able to implement some of her own unique Ginto techniques in tandem with some of her other skills. Thanks to her masterful use of Ginto, she has become able to manifest her techniques without having to resort to using the chants common of the ancient art.

Ginto Techniques

Wolke: A ginto tube is tossed to cushion the impact of a fall with the energy stored within it. Technique generates a holy charge.

Gritz: From a thrown Ginto tube, a pentagonal Quincy cross is formed and if it hits the target, it envelops them. Sofia is able to hold the target for just an extra after use. However, the techniques checks against a character’s strength or tier against Sofia’s reishi manipulation. Someone with strength mastery higher than Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery would be able to break out with ease. If based on tier, at a reishi manipulation of advanced, opponents no weaker than two tiers lower than her would be able to break out, one tier lower at elite, and equivalent tier at master. A successful use of Gritz incurs a two post cooldown. The use of this technique generates a holy charge.

Heizen: When four Ginto tubes are tossed, the space within them would see a transparent rectangular beam of energy creating, gouging and purging whatever enclosed the tubes. The ability is extremely powerful, easily able to cut through even a Menos Grande. Unfortunately the area of effect is limited by the space created in between the four tossed tubes.

Sprenger: By using five seele schneider to create a pentagonal shaped seal, Sofia can then activate it with a Ginto tube. Should a target stand in the middle of the pentagon, they would see themselves trapped there for up to an additional post by wrapping and binding their lower body with extremely dense reishi. However based on the opponent’s power and its comparison to Sofia’s reishi manipulation, the might still get out sooner.

At a reishi mastery of advanced, opponents two tier lower can escape once the current turn finishes whereas a tier lower can escape within the same post. At elite is a tier lower and equivalent tier respectively, and at master is equivalent tier and a tier above Sofia. But, when the liquid inside a ginto is dropped on a seele, it acts as a trigger by setting off an explosion of devastating outcomes. The explosion created by the technique is so powerful and devastating, likely due to the power and energy Sofia commands on top of its construction, that it can be compared to the power of five grand rey ceros. Though incredibly powerful, the downfall of the technique lies in the sheer amount of time and effort it takes to set up, and in the difficulty of luring an opponent to be trapped within its range to begin with. The technique deals 15% more damage to the Hollow and Demon kind. By consuming 12 holy charges Sofia is able to extend the trapping circumstance by one tier depending on the fitting parameter above. Of course, after the Sprenger has been detonated, the technique dissipates and there’s no hold. The use of this technique generates 3 holy charges.

Recht Blitz: By pouring the reiryoku contents of one Ginto tube and using her spiritual energy as a conduit, Sofia is able to release a powerful and crackling surge of energy-like electricity that pains, numbs, and could even paralyses the target for up to an additional post. Unfortunately, though powerful, the technique is hindered by its extremely low range. Only able to travel a foot beyond her before caving down, the technique requires a different medium to run its course to a target, like the melody. If the target is hit, they may still be stunned for longer or not at all though it depends on how their power measures up against her reishi manipulation mastery.

At a mastery of advanced, opponents two tiers lower than her are able to shave off time from the stun and regain their composure after the current turn finishes, whereas at just a tier lower they’re okay right away. At elite its a tier lower and an equivalent tier respectively, and at master its an equivalent tier and a tier above her. However, before the current post finishes Sofia delivers a strong blow to them in the form of an energy coated swing with her blade that that its highly likely to send them flying several meters back on top of a possible cut. To avoid that the parameters listed above for each case must be exceeded beyond what’s states. The technique generates two holy charges.

Falltur: By emptying two Ginto tubes before her, Sofia is able to create one large Quincy cross before her, as large as herself. The cross then shoots out towards her intended target before separating into five smaller crosses, spread out enough to create the shape of a pentacle. Each of the crosses is stringed together by a visible net of dense reishi. Though the technique was designed primarily as a form of restraint, Sofia is able to affect the reishi on the net to make it extremely sharp to cut through a target given the speed and kinetic energy of the crosses propelling the net. The restrain however lasts only long enough for Sofia to finish the remainder of the technique which is delivered in a fraction of a second in the form of an energy attack or a powerful swing. Either attack regardless of potential damage would have them being sent several dozen meters away as it ends the technique. Due to how short of a time Sofia allows the potential hold to last, she’s able to exert far more control over it with far more energy. To overpower the technique right away requires a strength mastery that exceeds Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery. Or instead, it requires the opponent be no more than a tier lower at a reishi manipulation of advanced, of equivalent tier at a elite, and at least a tier higher at master. The use of this technique generates a holy charge.

Platzen: By tossing a Ginto tube, Sofia is able to detonate it at will to act as a powerful reishi grenade that’s comparable in power to a cero from someone of her general might. Tossing two Ginto tubes at once makes the blast much stronger and comparable to two cero. The use of this technique generates a holy charge.

Verheilen: By using her Ginto tubes in combination with her own energy, Sofia can use them for healing effects. Though increasingly painful, emptying the contents of one Ginto tube allows her to instantly heal from minor burns and scrapes. Emptying two would see small cuts and wounds closed and healed. Three would close and heal large wounds of potentially dangerous outcomes. Though a maximum of four Ginto tubes can be used to heal injuries that would have been deemed impossible to heal, the pain resulting from the use would make Sofia be very winded and fatigued from the sheer amount of pain. She cannot regrow limbs with this, and can't be used while blut vene is in effect. Unfortunately, since Verheilen can only heal the damage the contents of the tube touch, she would have to open someone up, and drip the painful contents inside to be able to heal internal damage.

Spiegel: A technique specially tailored by Sofia during her altercations. By spilling the contents of a ginto tube along with a sample of her energy with it, she can create up to two silvery-white mirrors. The mirrors are strong enough to withstand and repel most energy based attack that are fired at her so long as it is not a peculiar enough attack that would otherwise circumvent defenses. The way how the defensive power of the mirror is calculated is as follows.

At a reishi mastery of advanced, opponents two tier lower would have an energy attack bounced back at them, though at a tier lower the attack would destroy the mirror and travel through with 50% its original power. The same repeats itself at higher skill levels, like, at a mastery of elite if one tier lower and equivalent tier respectively, and at master if equivalent tier and a tier above Sofia. Again, this means that in any specific circumstance, the second parameter would have the mirror destroyed with a portion of the might of the attack still traveling through. Naturally any individual beyond these parameters would be beyond the effects. Bare in mind however that these work only against energy based attacks, not physical attacks. Spiegel can typically remain out for no longer than three posts, assuming its not destroyed beforehand. Upon finishing, it incurs a cooldown of four posts. Its use generates one holy charge upon use, and one or two holy charges for every extra post depending on the number of mirrors still available.

Verhohlen: Sofia discovered this technique after she became acquainted with the corruption in the world, and how it could be used to maintain the integrity of the Vandenreich, and the few remaining loyal Quincy. By pouring the contents of a Ginto tube and rubbing her hands, Sofia speaks the incantation to allow the effects to take place. “Discrecion, y paz: Verhohlen.” Upon uttering the words, Sofia uses the Ginto technique in combination with a customized version of her Aussetzung technique, to bend the light around her body and repel all reishi from her person. By bending the light, Sofia doesn’t become invisible, but rather all her defining features as well as the colors of her clothes fade into a shadowy figure with subtle hints of multiple colors. One would only be able to see the dark outline of her body, in a seemingly 2D format, making it difficult to discern if she’s even a female or a male. By using the modified version of Aussetzung in combination, repelling reishi from her person allows her to completely mask the predominantly amount of the latter that usually accompanies her. As such, while one would know she’s spiritually aware, it would be unlikely to know she’s a Quincy unless otherwise mentioned by her. Unfortunately, since reishi is banished from her person, she’s unable to use any move that relies on reishi or otherwise risk revealing her status as a Quincy. Any injury that causes extreme nerve pain, like a deep wound or laceration on a key area of her body would force her out of Verhohlen.

Doppel: By quickly dropping two Ginto tubes, a blast is made and the spiritual energy contained inside wrap around her a double or replacement of her near instantly. The double bears such resemblance in likeness and spiritual feeling that is unlikely to be able to tell otherwise. The double cannot speak, move, think or act at all. As such, the technique is not made to confuse or distract the foe. Instead, it's Sofia’s mean of escaping a potential blow while making it seem as though she was hit. Because of the speed at which its done and her proficiency with the Ginto technique, it's easily able to fool opponents momentarily up to a tier lower than her if she posses an advanced reishi manipulation mastery, equivalent tier at elite, and a tier higher at master. However, being fooled or not makes no difference, since those that see throughout it would have no greater advantage other than knowing Sofia is elsewhere. The technique generates one holy charge.

Engelscheibe: Sofia places a Ginto tube between her hands before pressing them together causing it to shatter and empty its contents. The energy contained inside the tubes reacts with her spiritual presence to create an orb that expands into a rapidly spinning disk of silvery light hovering a foot or so before her with a dimension of about five meters in diameter. The rapid spinning disk allows to block most incoming blasts or punch through powerful defenses it does this simply by slicing through them. The extent of what can be cut through depends largely on Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery in comparison to her opponent’s tier.

At a reishi mastery of advanced, energy attacks and defenses from opponents two tiers lower than her would be sliced through with ease, whereas at a tier higher the disk explodes along with their technique in a sort of stalemate. At a mastery of elite it's a tier lower and equivalent tier respectively, and at master is equivalent tier and a tier above Sofia’s. Any attacks originating from opponents that fall beyond the scope of the parameters above during the pertinent circumstances would be able to destroy the disk without ill effect.

Engelscheibe can also be thrown through her mental disposition, but therein lies the disadvantage of her ability. While Engelscheibe should not be blocked, as the rapid rotating sharp nature would cause it to slice through some of the strongest kind of defenses, it's relatively easy to dodge at range. Any target with a skill in speed that’s at least on level with hers should be able to easily dodge Engelscheibe if they intended to do so. Though the technique unfortunately cannot be controlled at distances beyond 100 meters, something that’s achieved rather quickly due to the extremely fast speed at which it travels, it can however have its diameter doubled at will before it exceeds its maximum controllable range. The technique generates two holy charges.

Hagel: By holding at least three Ginto tubes and tossing them into the air, Sofia is able to fire an arrow onto it to kickstart the technique. Upon being shot by her arrow, a blast rises up into the sky to form a large dome resembling a Quincy pentacle. From it, several Quincy arrows of enormous lengths rain down all around the field, creating devastating explosions where they land. Though powerful on its own regard, the technique is her way of limiting the movements of the foe. The technique generates one holy charge.

Reishi Manipulation

Masterful Reishi Control: Since very early, Sofia demonstrated a talent in gathering and maintaining reishi around her. Despite her reputation as a prodigy, it was music and her artistic mind that allowed her to become as proficient in the discipline as she is. Initially bored and without a will to want to summon the standard spirit weapon, she found solace and enjoyment in the fact that she could create a violin bow with the reishi around her. Through years of endless practice since she loved to practice with the violin, she would end up discovering her violin bow could become one of her favorite weapons. It was thanks to the near endless practice that she was able to become so accustomed and apt to gathering and manipulating reishi with such ease. Once she had mastered her sanrei glove, the journey became even more thrilling as she found it easier to summon her weapon and create constructs out of the reishi around her. The art that she loved so much in music, and the new techniques she created with Ginto created a curiosity in her as to the different things she could create by manipulating reishi.

Refusing to allow other races to move ahead unstopped, like the Shinigami and their kido, Sofia vowed and succeeded to create art as she did in music, through the works of her craft in reishi manipulation. She would succeed in creating several utility techniques that took advantage of her innate talent absorbing and manipulating reishi. In time, she would see her skill go through even new boundaries of progress as success. She pushed her skills to the mac during her fight with the Goliath Shell, allowing her to discover new ways in which to use it. Her time with the Eris Seal showed her new means in which to extend her reach and control over it. And far tougher battles like the one with the former emperor Ghislain and the former captain commander Tsubasa has forced her skill to struggle past its limits and into a new class of its own. Without a doubt, while Sofia is highly proficient with her blut and her blades, her skill with reishi is likely her very best, closely followed perhaps by her speed.

Reishi Manipulation Techniques

Heiligen Torspiegel: By concentrating the reishi around her, Sofia can create up to two silvery white Quincy pentacles just somewhat bigger than her. The Quincy pentacles will hover in the air at two locations of her choosing. The locations are always opposite of each other, meaning if one is before Sofia, the other one is behind her, or if one is to her right, the other one is to her left. The previous is a fact the technique has to stick by. However, the Quincy is perfectly capable of bringing each pentacle closer to her, just inches away from her, or further away up to a maximum distance of 50 meters. One of the pentacles attracts all kinds of spirit energy and the other simply expels it. As such, the two pentacles act as a form of gate or a door, with a pathway or corridor of spiritual energy. While one pentacle would attract a blast, the latter would be redirected to come out of the second pentacle at a different location.

Granted, knowing where the pentacles are positioned also allows some form of prediction as to where the blast is likely to come out. Nonetheless, Sofia can switch the position of a pentacle from her front, to her back, or the side, or a corner. The one thing that needs to be kept in mind is that at all times the pentacles will be positioned in opposite sides of each other. Even then, the pentacle can’t just absorb everything without problem. Its capabilities are dependent on the power of the opponent in relation to Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery.

At a reishi mastery of advanced, the mirror can easily function as intended when against attacks from opponents at least two tiers lower than hers, one tier lower at elite, and an equivalent tier at master. If the opponent’s tier is one higher than what the parameters indicate at each specific mastery, then the attack would destroy the pentacles, allowing the attack to continue though weakened by 75%, or 50% if two tiers above the parameters of each circumstance. The percentages cap at 0-2++. Typically, an unused technique can be maintained in the field for a maximum duration of four posts without concern. However, the technique only has a usable shelf life of three times before it disappears and incurs a five post cooldown. By consuming 10 holy charges, Sofia can increase the percentage reduction of an attack that destroys the technique once. The use of this technique grants the Quincy one holy charge, and another one for each post it stays active.

Unterdrücker Lanze: By extending her hands, Sofia forms a lance made of pure silvery white energy before herself, which solidifies into a crystalline surface. Right away, the lance becomes positioned and made to hover right behind her back, where it stays lodged in place securely, unable to be moved but by her own will and pull. The lance is an ability that can be used either in prolonged combat, and upon solidification has durability that is a tier lower than Sofia’s Reishi Manipulation skill. This ability can be maintained in it’s crystallized state for as long as she needs to. The only thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that each post anywhere from 2% to 3% of her entire energy reserve is being pumped into the lance and condensed inwards up to 10 turns. Each turn this lance is being condensed further and further, refining the energy concentration and volatility into the weapon so that it will continue to increase in explosive force and piercing power unilaterally. How powerful and explosive the lance attack can be and how much it can pierce is entirely dependent on how long is kept with her and the energy it consumes.

Spoiler:

Heiling Schutz (passive): Continuously, Sofia allows a very thin film of reishi to cover her skin and all around her body. It helps by adding a simple and subtle extra layer of defense to incoming attacks. While she relies on her Blut occasionally, Heiling Schutz allows her to have an extra layer for cushioning damage. This is made possible by her great skill with reishi manipulation and the extent of the abilities she can have it create. The ability is not enough to stop attacks or damage from blows that would be extremely hindering in nature, but at the very least, every potential chance for harm is at the very least minimized in the slightest in some way. To put into perspective, the technique earns Sofia roughly a 10% increase to her physical defenses ordinarily, and a 20% increase only during her Vollstanding.

Himmelstor: A towering gate about 100 meters tall, 50 meters wide, and 10 meters thick is erected in front of Sofia. The wall is largely bare, seemingly constructed out of pure white reishi, with nothing but an embossed Quincy pentacle right at its center. Himmelstor is meant to be Sofia’s attempt at an extremely powerful and efficient form of defense. Several meters thick and embedded with tremendous amounts of energy, she’s able to hold off very powerful attacks from some of the toughest beings. The technique stands as one of the most formidable forms of defense she has outside of her release. In fact, it is so strong that after stopping powerful attacks, its able to remain until it receives a second one. Of course, certain magnitude of attacks from truly wild opponents could force it either last just one post, or destroy it right away. How sturdy however is up to the difference between her opponent’s tier and her reishi manipulation. Of note is that the technique tends to be 10% sturdier against opponents from the Demon or Hollow kind.

In order to to be able to face up to a second attack at a reishi mastery of advanced, the attacks need to originate from an opponent at least two tiers below hers, one tiers at elite, and equivalent at master. Anything higher would force its duration to just the turn it's being used, though the attack would still be successfully stopped...unless they fall under the following category. At a reishi mastery of advanced, an opponent of a equivalent to Sofia would be able to destroy the technique completely, allowing 75% of their attack’s power to carry through. at elite for someone of the same tier only 25% would get through , at master she'd be able to completely block someone of the same tier, and block someone of 1 tier higher and only 50% would get through. Anything in between the first example and the second at different masteries would simply have the technique destroyed while stopping the attack in a sort of stalemate. Regardless of the scenario, the use of Himmelstor incurs a cooldown of about four turns. The use of the technique grans Sofia two holy charges.

Himmelstor - Heiligkeit: The technique, which translates roughly to Heaven's Gate - Sanctity, is one of the most recent gift from Sofia to the Wandenreich. It's creation was thanks to the knowledge of her own technique, Himmelstor, as well as her own mastership and dominion over reishi. By infusing their own reiryoku with the reishi around them, the Quincy can create a large, 10 meter tall gate of silvery white light, with edges that seem to be made of an out of this verse white material with carvings that are more fitting of scenery depicted in renditions of heaven. The door is a form of gateway or passage to almost anywhere in the verse. Those of 0 tier can simply use their reiryoku for its creation, although adding the surrounding reishi makes it both faster and smoother in its delivery. Caution needs to be exercised if travelling to less than friendly places. This technique cannot be used in the middle of a fight.

However, the technique has a number of limitations on top of the securities and countermeasures Sofia engineered into it herself. For starters, the technique can only be used by active Quincy members of the Wandenreich. And while whomever creates the gate can allow others to travel with them, they must still be Quincy at the very least to be able to pass through it. Beyond that, most regular Quincy are limited to traveling through the door only to get around the world of the living. To enter a different plane like Soul Society or Hueco Mundo, the Dangai or the Demon World requires approval from either a Captain or above. The exception to this of course being Sofia, it's creator. However, 0 tiers within the organization are able to use the gate to travel anywhere one could potentially get to as they're not only powerful, but deemed capable and trustworthy under specific circumstances. Still, they should still take caution as certain worlds are less forgiving to their kind. The gate cannot be used to facilitate or compliment combat. Instead, it is simply a means of accessing locations that would otherwise be too difficult to get to. And finally, since it is not a technique written in stone or a book handed down, Sofia must teach the individual in a one by one basis before they're able to do it on their own.

Heiling Macht (passive): Its widely understood by most well versed warriors and scholars that Quincy generally tend to perform even better in locations with an overabundance of spirit energy. Such locations include Hueco Mundo, the Soul Society, Demon World, and the Iramasha Realm. When in those locations, the amount of energy they can potentially use to increase the power of their techniques and their capabilities exponentially increases. In these areas, all reishi manipulation attacks from Sofia deal approximately 15% more damage, and her defenses are 15% more effective. More importantly, she’s able to draw from a reishi storage which is formed as the excess reishi is funneled and compacted for further use. This allows her reishi to replenish one time in the thread by 15%.

Heiling Hieb: By continuously gathering reishi around her weapons, Sofia is able to either thrust or swing them, resulting in a reishi blast being shot. Thrusting would result in a blast that’s destructive in nature but with an emphasis on its piercing and concussive capabilities. Likewise, when slashing, the ability surrenders its concussive and piercing abilities for the chance to slash through the sharp crescent wave of concentrated reishi. Since Sofia is able to fire arrows through her bow, she delegates the use of this technique usually for the times when she’s strictly using her blades. The use of this technique generates one holy charge.

Vergeltung: A large Quincy pentacle about 10 meters in diameter hovers over a foreign source of spiritual energy of her choosing. Sofia is able to create the pentacle with reishi, lining up the inside that creates the star-like figure with shapes of Quincy swords. At her will, the swords would drop and the pentacle cave down. Rather than cut and injure, the Quincy swords would reveal an elastic nature to them, grabbing and wrapping around the foe in an attempt to hold them down. Vergeltung is a form of retribution for what Sofia considers sins, and it works inversely to what most would expect. Though no one would have a way of knowing unless having witnessed it used on them before, Vergeltung is useless if the target doesn’t fight it for the remainder of that turn. Meaning that if the target stays still for that post, on the next turn, the technique will vanish off of them. However, trying to overpower the technique simply makes it stronger and more difficult to be rid of. Stronger or more powerful opponents would likely have a more difficult time unless aware of the peculiar aspects of the technique. Should Vergeltung fail, the technique may be readily used at any time. Should it succeed in trapping the opponent however, the latter will see his physical movements restrained for about one additional post. A successful Vergeltung incurs a three post cooldown, and any use of it generates one holy charge. Cannot be used to activate Sprenger.

Heiling Buchstabe: In her quest for artistic dominance and creative symbolism, the Quincy prodigy sought to intertwine her masterful skill over reishi to influence her technique in the way she needs it to. Though a picture is often worth a thousand words, the artistic power in battle of the Heiling Buchstabe is well worth a million actions, and a million tears, yet it could only cost a life. It was as swift and beautiful as it was cold and deadly.

Upon using the technique Sofia can choose a letter, any letter, and inscribe it with her mind somewhere along the length of her weapon. Nothing else seems to happen thereafter. There’s no direct damage caused by the technique, and it seems as though it was a wasted movement on her part, though that’s hardly the case. Despite the seeming uselessness of the spell, the Quincy prodigy used her artistic leaning to engineer a technique that was simply profound. That letter will remain edged on her weapon almost as if it was carved on it from the very start. Switching weapons will do her no good, as any one or more weapons presently used by her will have the letter etched into it. Once Heiling Buchstabe has been cast, it cannot be undone for the remainder of the thread.

The way more letters are added is somewhat odd but nonetheless simple. Every time someone else but Sofia speaks, the very first letter of their first word will be etched into her weapons. Let’s be clear that Sofia’s own words cannot be taken into account, and she cannot choose which letter she wants to add thereon. The only time she has the ability to pick a letter is when first casting the technique. The second and last way to add a letter is through randomization, where each post, a randomized letter from the English alphabet will be chosen and etched into the blade; only one randomized letter per each of Sofia’s posts. From there, words created can be imbued with meaning as to provide certain effects for her weapon. Again, the effects are only applied to her weapons to be delivered either to an opponent or their attacks/defenses.

While a meaning can be somewhat flexible and expanded upon depending on Sofia’s imagination, there are obvious limits. Creating the word “fire”, will not allow her to shoot out wave of water. But instance making the word “cut”, or the word “rot” could allow her to potentially cut or make rot the part of the opponent touched by her weapons. The effects created by a certain word will remain present on the blade either as long as it takes to inflict it on the opponent or an attack, or until Sofia creates another word from the letters available. However, bear in mind that using any group of letters to make a word would cause those letters to disappear completely from the weapons. The only word that will remain at all times is the very first word she chose when casting the technique. By consuming 8 holy charges Sofia is able to pick rather than randomize the letter for her current turn only.

Of note is that any potency or effects on the blade are aligned with her reishi manipulation skill. As such, effects could potentially enlarge, such as grow, could not allow the blade to lengthen for that turn more than say, 300 feet. Even then however, effects that rely on influence on the opponent, such as the word break potentially causing a broken bone if the blade touches the opponent are not so easily pulled off. Because regardless of the effectiveness of the technique, there still exist individuals with such a might in power that simply negate its effect. At a reishi mastery of elite, effects that directly affect the opponent only apply to those a tier lower, those of equivalent tier at master, and a tier higher at grandmaster. Some examples of the effects could be as follow: using up letters to make the word burn could turn the blade glowing red for that post, enabling it to burn and set on fire what it comes into contact with. Creating the word decay would allow her to weaken the limb it happened to touch if it did, but to a maximum of 15-20%. However, as mentioned already, effects that rely on the opponent or his power's being affected are in direct dependence on the parameters outlined above.

Heiling Seelenstarke: Which translates roughly to Holy Fortitude, was Sofia’s way to both be better able to help her peers, but also to create a technique that closely mimicked the angelic and safeguarding motif of her people. Sometimes, art was not simply breaking things down beautifully, but restoring them to their former grace as well. When the technique is used, a pentagram of a pure white is created underneath her feet and keeps its location regardless of her movements until it is used. The pentagram possesses three roman numerals consisting of, I, II, and III aligned to form what resembles a triangle just on the outside border of the pentagram. Each number creates a slightly different effect, and selecting any of them causes it to glow a strong hue of silvery white.

If she wills it and selects the number I then Sofia has the option of healing either herself or an ally. However, the healing is slow and spans several posts. Upon selecting it, the technique would heal minor cuts and wounds on the first post, large wounds and damages in two posts, and regenerate limbs in three posts. Because of the slow process of the healing, selecting that number doesn’t incur a cool down and may be casted as needed. However if Sofia were to select the number II then she could heal either herself or an ally in the same post, be it a minor or major wound of great depth that bleed profusely (cannot regenerate limbs). However, using that number creates a cooldown of four posts before the technique may be used once more. Last but not least, choosing to select number III allows Sofia a form of area of effect heal. She may choose to either use a slow form of area of effect heal or a fast one. The effects are the same as in the other two numbers with the difference being that the Quincy can now target and exclude multiple spiritual signals within a 100 meter radius of her, making it ideal for team centric battles. However, the cooldowns change if the number III is selected. If using the slow area of effect healing (like number I), the technique incurs a cooldown of three posts, while the fast healing (like number II), incurs a cooldown of five posts. Choosing number I generates 1 holy charge, choosing II generates 2, and choosing III generates 3.

Welles des Urteils: By using her mastership over reishi manipulation in tandem with her prodigious and creative artistic mind, Sofia has managed to create a technique that is equally beautiful as powerful. In her mind, every technique should be as powerful as it is graceful, something that reflects very well in her form of combat. When using Welles des Urteils, the Quincy prodigy creates a beautiful and large wave of what looks like silvery white reishi. The color is indicative both of the pureness of her ability and the typical color scheme preferred by her people. The size of the wave can reach maximum height of about 50 meters and 100 meters in width. The speed at which the wave travels is typically about half of Sofia's own speed.

As for the effects, the wave is misleading in that it looks as if it was a form of silver water; that’s not the case. The highly concentrated energy creates a truly wonderful fusion that allows for an extremely sticky substance that burns on contact by hydrolyzing the surface it lands on. Not unlike the napalm of the humans, the wave sticks to any surface it touches be it living or inanimate. The substance sticks in such a way that it cannot be washed off by water or evaporated by heat. Once the substance sticks, the only way to remove it is to literally scrape it off. However as soon as contact is made with the substance it creates extremely dangerous chemical burns that become hotter and burn through the tissue and into the nerves with prolonged time. If contact occurs, and within the current post, the area would display second degree burns right away which, if able to be seen would show extensive blistering, red and raw areas, and an intense level of pain. If the substance is still on the target the following turn, then the area would certainly exhibit third degree burns that go into the nerves, essentially leaving that area devoid of feeling. There is however an alternative way for the opponent to free themselves quickly, though its highly dependent on their tier and how it compares with Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery.

At a reishi mastery of advanced, opponents three tiers below Sofia will not be able to use their energy to expel the napalm life technique, whereas at two tiers below they’re able to expel it right after the current turn elapses, and at just one tier below her, they can push off the technique right away without ill effects. At elite, opponents two tiers lower will suffer throughout the technique, they would be freed after the current turn ends if one tier lower, and they’d dominate the technique right away at an equivalent tier. At master, opponents one tier lower will suffer throughout the technique, they would be freed after the current turn ends if at an equivalent tier, and they’d dominate the technique right away at a tier higher. When using this technique, it will remain under Sofia’s control in the field for a maximum of four posts unless a fair amount has latched to an opponent. If an opponent has been affected by the wave or its time elapsed, then the technique incurs a four post cooldown. However, while Sofia is immune to its effects, it will potentially hit and affect allies if they’re caught in its confines. The use of this technique generates two holy charges. By consuming 14 holy charges, Sofia is able to extend the effect given a specific parameter as described above by one tier.

Zwanzig Engelsblätter: Before her, behind her, and all around her, twenty large Quincy styled blades hover with the sharp ends of the blades facing where she looks. At her command, the blades will fire off at extremely fast speeds, and into the direction of the target of her choosing. The blades will attempt to stab through the target, but the wounds would minor, almost as if the blades themselves thinned out right before impact. Regardless, as soon as the blades hit, the tips would break open to reveal a form of grappling like hook. In essence, Zwanzig Engelsblätter is not meant to grievously injure, but rather, keep an opponent still. The several blades would be connected to Sofia through the energy that permeates the world around them. While there certainly are means to free oneself from the binding hold, its not just extremely painful, but it depends on the balance between Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery and the opponent’s tier. At a mastery of advanced, opponents no weaker than a tier below Sofia will be able to break out of the hold, whereas it takes an equivalent tier at elite, and a tier higher at master. After all, it's not a hold that can last for more than a turn since Sofia will try and attack while its active, essentially destroying it afterwards. Regardless, the technique incurs a two post cooldown, and generates a holy charge. Consuming 11 holy charges can allow Sofia to exert the hold of this technique on an opponent a tier higher than the parameter respective to her scenario.

Holy Concerto Series - Heavy Metal: When the technique is used, the surroundings within a 200 meter in diameter of Sofia darken. It doesn’t become as dark as to where one can’t see, but it’s sufficiently so enough to be considered comparable to nightfall in the absence of all light except for that of the moon. From the air, the ceiling, or the trees if there are any available, strings of a nature unknown seem to hang down around her suspending several doll pieces. Some strings keep a hold of an arm, others keep a hold of a leg. Others keep hold of cute but aged and dirty doll heads, all of which are missing one eye. Even to the more avid of individuals with extremely perceptive eyes, it would likely take a while to figure out how many dolls there were. Why? Mainly because they’re separated into pieces and it would be difficult to tell which belong to which. After all, even when Sofia plays her music and wills them to join together, some dolls still seem to be missing some limbs, as if they were meant to be that way.

The amount of dolls she can have active largely depends on her energy. As such she’s limited to ten dolls ordinarily, and 20 in a release state. Each doll is roughly a foot and a half tall. And though some have their limbs and some don’t, just about every one of them seems to have only one eye. Through the dolls, Sofia is able to peer into her surroundings as she would through hers, making the technique unique and useful for scouting. Upon creation of the technique, Sofia uses her own energy signature as the basis, and foreign sources of energy as the other. That foreign source of energy, or rather the individual, is then engineered to represent and symbolize the mother of the dolls. The art behind the Heavy Metal of the Concerto Series revolves around a song where the mother, so caught up with her life and her career, discarded her children before they were born for things she deemed more important. And now, the past comes back to haunt her. As the song unfolds before the opponent, the dolls seek to reunite with their mother and make her a part of them as they were once a part of her; by feeding.

Essentially the dolls will crawl, limp, walk, jump, or run towards the opponent in an effort to tug and take bites and pieces out of them to be ingested. Although the dolls act largely out of their own accord, Sofia is able to influence them to walk or run or limp if she so desires. The speed at which they travel is roughly equal to that of Sofia. Given that the dolls are not too big to begin with, the diameter of their bite is roughly around three inches. Their teeth project from their gums as sharp serrated incisors more akin to that of a seesaw. The only immediate damage the dolls can cause is that of bites, and scratches. Their bites don’t really slice cleanly but rather shave and tear. More importantly, a bite from a doll would lower the opponent’s durability mastery by one for three posts, because as the doll bites down it has the effect of chipping away at it with their unique construct. Destroying a doll is not too difficult. A fairly decent energy blow or hit would cause a doll to shatter and break. However, given that they’re so fragile, Sofia engineered a method to keep them just moments more. Each time a doll is delivered a decisive blow, the one eye they possess would disintegrate. If the doll were to be hit again by any attack it would be destroyed for good as it has no more eyes to use. On the flipside, Sofia may allow a doll to surrender its eye to maintain another doll in the battlefield. When an eye is destroyed, the doll echoes an eerie baby laughter that drowns the area. If the doll is destroyed, a loud baby cry haunts the area where it once was.

Just like a song, the effects do not last very long. The technique is active for only a maximum of four posts ordinarily, or six posts if used during a release to account for the massive surge in energy. Nonetheless the technique can end far sooner if all dolls are destroyed beforehand. However, if all dolls are destroyed then the technique ends right away. And as a brilliant work of musical art it should only be seen once, so that it may be remembered forever. As such, once Heavy Metal has been used in a battle, it cannot be used again on the same fight. There’s even one more unfortunate byproduct of the ability. Since it uses only Sofia’s energy as the basis, it does not differentiate or discriminate between friend and foe. As such, if used around her allies, they too would be vulnerable just as the enemy would, and Sofia would be forced to take time and focus to keep them from harm.

Holy Concerto Series - Classic & Metal: A true masterpiece in her concerto series, the classical & metal is pretty self-explanatory. Sofia creates a beautifully insidious but enthralling melody with her unique ability that mixes classical music and metal rock in ways almost unheard of. Once the technique is used, the general surroundings do not change much aside from around Sofia. Behind her, a wall of black would appear as it melds with the view of the sky. Technically, it would look as though the area behind her was so dark as to mimic nightfall. This does not hide Sofia, and neither does it make it difficult to see the surroundings. Instead, it is meant to represent the dim lighting, or lack thereof around a stage where a performer is about to create a work of art. The dark look of the sky is only visibly behind Sofia as its tagged to her spiritual signal, and as such, if she were to move, so would the darkened effect.

Above her, a figure would show itself to resemble greatly the opponent she is facing. When faced with multiple opponents, Sofia may pick one. The figure only mimics the look of the opponent at the time of creation. If through a transformation or ability the opponent’s look changes, the figures wouldn’t. The figure doesn’t copy things like techniques or abilities, or even knowledge though. It only copies their physical look, there are just some inherent differences. For starters they look paler than the opponent. Their clothes are also changed to a either dress of white or a suit of white. Said clothing item has streaks of blood that don’t appear to belong to them. If one looks closely, it would be noted that the figure does not have eyes, but rather sunken black holes, almost like a void, where streams of blood continue to trickle down onto the dress before stopping. Essentially it leaves the red trails of marks from the eyes to the clothing. From its arms, head, and back, several strings seem to dig deep below the surface of those areas. They don’t look like reishi strings but almost as items that were forcefully placed there. Nonetheless, if one were to tug or pull they would not come out, almost as if they belonged there. And about ten meters of string up, two large hands, each spanning about five meters in length seems to manipulate and dictate its movements.

For all intents and purposes, the hands stand as a visual representation of Sofia’s mind and will in the technique. As a representation, the strings are just there for show, as even if they were caught, the hands would continue to puppeteer the figure as Sofia uses her mind to control it. Even higher above the hands, two theater masks of white, happiness and sadness, hang suspended. Initially, sadness glows intermittently. While this occurs the figure continues to lament and cry, as echoes of eerie sorrow drown the surroundings. If the figure is delivered what should have been a deadly blow, then the sad mask disintegrates. When only the happiness mask is available, its glow causes the figure to behave as an extremely hyper and excited individual with an avid taste and desire to kill for the fun of it. If the figure is struck a deadly blow two different times, then with no available masks the figure too would disintegrate into nothing along with the technique. If the opponent however chose to target the hands or the masks outright, then rather than destroying them, the opponent would simply be damaging and lowering some of the energy Sofia has fueling the technique.

The figure is able to use almost any attack Sofia knows but with the following exceptions. It cannot use items that only Sofia possesses. That means it cannot use seele Schneider, or ginto, or her regalia, or even ginto spheres. Instead, it is only able to use energy techniques, hand to hand combat, and to depend on the physical representation of Sofia’s weapons without abilities. Of course it cannot access Vollstanding either. The figure is also deaf, and thus depends on Sofia to guide it by her own sight and mental commands. It does however possess an incredibly potent sense of smell and hearing, likely as a result of giving up sight. It enables the figure to pick up almost any scent, or to catch on to even the lowest of decibel sounds, and transmit the information to the Quincy. Every action of the figure is commanded by Sofia’s will, which is represented by the hands of the puppeteer. The figure is extremely strong, although it would never quite be as powerful as Sofia. Like every masterpiece in art, the song does not last very long. The figure cannot remain out for more than four posts ordinarily, and six posts if used during a release. However, if enough deadly blows are dealt, then the figure and the technique could very well end much sooner than anticipated. The technique can only be used once a thread.

Ransotengai: By using her own reiryoku, Sofia is able to create dense strings made out of reishi. The reiryoku is controlled by the brain and allows her to control muscles and body parts that might have been impaired. The technique allows her to move freely by simply willing her movements, causing her reiryoku to react and allowing her body to move thanks to the reishi strings connected to them. The technique allows her to continue moving or fighting despite paralysis, broken limbs, or any force that would hinder or otherwise impair movements. Initially, though the strings can be seen, they quickly dissipate to be dismissed by the eye. Because of the constant flow and use of reishi around a quincy, detecting the strings and their specific location is also unlikely as it would be akin to finding a white mark on a white wall. Use of this technique generates two holy charges.

Ransotengai Rengoku: A more advanced form of Ransotengai, Sofia is able to use her own reiryoku to create several strings made out of reishi to attach to objects or people. Through her own will acting on her energy, she is then able to make objects move as if she held them, as a puppeteer would with a puppet. Likewise, she is able to control an individual by making a certain area of their body move. Unfortunately, due to the concentration required to continue moving and battling on top of controlling something or someone potentially powerful, the ability is quite hindered. Though she may control several objects inanimate objects like rocks, Sofia usually limits to about two, to avoid falling prey to confusion and disorganization of her battle tempo. When trying to control people however, she’s only able to control one limb. For instance, she would be able to affect the movements of a leg, or an arm, but never several limbs, let alone the whole body at once. Just like with the original Ransotengai, the strings are only visible when she makes the initial attempt to use it, but they’re obscured from sight and sensing masked by the reishi all around her and the target. An individual with a reishi manipulation skill on par with hers however would be able to sense the exact location of the string after one post of being used. Of course, the limited or unintended movement of a certain limb Sofia controls would be grounds to discovering where her string is attached. Only once the unintended movement or control over said limb has been noticed, then an individual with who either possesses a reishi manipulation mastery or a tier that matches hers will be able to see and cut or destroy said string. Those who cannot see it can nonetheless attempt to cut it somehow. A reminder that those not possessing a reishi manipulation skill that matches her will not be able to notice the strings unless Sofia has the limb move involuntarily, thus potentially revealing it. Once more, the involuntary moving of a limb is simply in the form of a jerk or pull in the direction she desires, that’s it.

Aussetzung: Sofia discovered this ability late into her journey. It's one she despises using, and will often try her best to avoid if she can manage by any other means. One of her driving motives is to push Quincy to answer their calling by uniting under a unilateral organization to save the Earth and reclaim their rights. However, from time to time there would be Quincy whose ideology and loyalties would conflict and thus deemed dangerous to the Vandenreich and a potential hazard to their goals. As such, only for the Quincy who had broken the law to such an extent to be far too gone, Aussetzung was created. In essence, the technique works very similar to a bug repellant. Instead of repelling insects however, it repels reishi. By using her masterful control over the reishi around her, Sofia is able to focus on the energy emanating from an individual, and tweak the reishi composition around them so that their being acts as a form of magnetic push, that makes the reishi unable to be absorbed or even come close to the target. Instead, the reishi would flee, almost as if the nature of the energy surrounding the target forcefully pushed it away. Aussetzung would therefore render the target unable of performing actions that rely on reishi. Because of the amount of skill it takes to create such an effect, Sofia can only maintain Aussetzung for about four posts. Because of the reishi repelling nature of the ability, that means the targets cannot be hit by any ability that relies on reishi either. After all, Aussetzung is not a death sentence but rather a punishment. The technique can only be used in a social thread.

Schweifstern: Gathering reishi around her, Sofia is able to fire a very condensed and powerful blast that seems to itch with the need to destroy. However, though unknown to anyone that has not met the technique before, Schweifstern does nothing unless very critical circumstances are met. The technique has a range of about 400 meters before it dissipates. It manages to cross that distance at extremely fast speeds that are very difficult to avoid. The speed at which it travels is essentially the fastest burst speed Sofia is capable produce. However, due to that crazy level of speed, the technique trades it for something else accordingly. Should the technique be dodged or misaimed elsewhere it would dissipate effortlessly without even a trace of its existence and without exploding. However, should Schweifstern come into contact with an energy signal of any kind beyond that of Sofia or her creations, its contents would undergo a sort of chemical reaction where the blast would stop traveling, and the sudden stop of its kinetic energy would create an immensely devastating blast of catastrophic proportions. Rather than exploding outwards however, the blast seeks to continue traveling as it did before, and uses the new footprint of the target’s energy to feed into it and explode by diffusing into their person or attack, creating highly damaging and devastating results. The technique incurs a post cooldown if it does not detonate, although a three post cooldown is incurred if successful. The use of this technique generates two holy charges.

Sklaverei: The technique, though not new, its extremely dangerous and difficult to use for just about every Quincy. In her effort to further comprehend it, Sofia tweaked it to her liking and changed its design and structure some to make it a somewhat unique creation of her own. That being said, while other powerful Quincy may attempt to use the basic idea behind the holy slave technique, its likely to be slightly different than hers. At its core, the technique allows her to forcefully enslave and absorb the reishi from attacks or spiritual created beings [npcs] to a certain degree and with clear limitations.

For instance, if trying to use Sklaverei against a spiritual attack or defense, Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery checks against the opponent’s tier. At a reishi mastery of advanced, the energy attacks or defenses from an opponent two tiers lower than her would allow her to completely absorb the energy from the maneuver, whereas at just a tier lower she’d only absorb about 50% of the energy, meaning the rest would still travel through at her if it was an attack, or remain weakened if it was a defense. At elite, opponents a tier lower would see their energy maneuver absorbed, and only 50% of it at an equivalent tier. At master, an opponent of an equivalent would see their energy maneuver absorbed, and only 50% if at a tier higher than her. The previous is also true of spiritual creatures (npcs) though its their tier and not their creator’s who are checked against Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery. The npcs cannot be absorbed 50% so if they can’t be absorbed fully, then only energy is drained without an effect on their physical look.

Regardless of the method, there is one big and obvious benefit to using the technique. The massive amount of energy absorbed allow Sofia to perform far better in certain areas for a limited amount of time. For instance, if an energy mannuever or an npc is completely absorbed, then Sofia would see her speed and the power of her reishi manipulation techniques double for a maximum duration of five posts. However, bear in mind that Sklaverei can only be used once. That’s not once a post, but once in the entire thread, meaning it cannot be used again. By consuming 25 holy charges, Sofia is able to extend the boost by two extra posts. The use of this technique generates 4 holy charges.

Sophie: Although this technique is not the most energy intensive, or the most powerful, it is perhaps among the most beautiful she has created, and that’s taken the bias out of the equation. The feat performed in this technique speaks greatly about the level of dominion over reishi she possesses, the likes of which have only been seen in a handful of individuals from the inception of their race. By using her mastered skill, Sofia is able to create another entity that looks almost exactly like her. This is not an illusion, and is not a perfect clone either. It is essentially a very similar version of her that has extensive differences too. Physically, to be able to tell eachother apart more, Sofia created Sophie with a part of kitsune-like ears. Their heights are the same, as is their attire and their overall physical looks.

As for the power and abilities, Sophie is created with a tier of around 1-2. She is unable to access Vollstanding, but beyond that every other ability and technique available to Sofia is also available to her. During a battle thread, once Sophie has been summoned, she can remain in the field for a maximum duration of about eight posts. However, by consuming 10 holy charges she’s able to extend her stay to about 10 posts. On a social thread, Sophie is able to walk around for a near indefinite amount of time. However, in the case of friendly spars or training, but only if given explicit consent by all those present, can Sophie remain out and about beyond the time limit the technique has.

As for her personality, though she has a loyalty and devotion to Sofia, she shares quite a bit of differences too. For starters she’s more likely to be crazy in a wild sense. While somewhat cautious and collected in battle, she doesn’t think much before jumping into rather dangerous or embarrassing circumstances outside of it. Though the initial intent and pretense behind the technique was so that Sofia could have someone competent to train with as often as she desired, it went far beyond that. It allowed Sofia to talk to someone else, that in some way was close yet far enough from her own self. In any case, Sophie is a welcomed addition to Sofia, and one that’s proving herself useful in and out of combat.

Heiling Klinge: By pointing one of her blades up and then down, an extremely large blade of pure reishi drops down from the sky and into its intended target. The sword is roughly about 50 meters in total length, and possesses a largely blue hue reminiscent of the energy from which its constructed. Though the attack can be sent down on an opponent, it's most often used to try and destroy a powerful defense. Regardless, there are very few attacks that have the potential to stand up against the might of Heiling Klinge. As soon as it impacts the ground it tries to pierce through it and the technique on its path. On contact, the energy produced creates a crater that’s about 10 meters in diameter. However, the energy continues to diffuse from the handle of the blade, down its length and to the tip. This process happens in a fraction of a second, but the pulses of energy force the sword even lower as it destroys what it impaled and what stands near it. The ensuing explosion is capable of uprooting large forests or even turning a large mountain into tiny pieces of rubble. Without a doubt, its a truly powerful technique which carries with it a cooldown of four posts. By consuming 10 holy charges Sofia is able to project the power of the blade into her weapons for a maximum duration of four posts or until she hits the opponent or releases the equivalent level of power in the form of a slash or a thrust. The use of this technique generates 3 holy charges.

Kirchenlied Sankt Zwinger: Among all of the techniques Sofia possesses, none requires as much energy, or is as powerful, or as legendary as Kirchenlied. There were grimeroies about the technique hidden within her family’s archives. However, as the technique was described, it was simply impossible to perform. No one in this verse could possibly use something like that, and it seemed like it belong to some other world instead. It made sense since no one in her family had ever been able to master it. With time and skill, Sofia figured out that rather than trying to learn it how it was, she would tweak it enough to the point where it became different, possible, and unique to her. The technique is the one that required the very longest for her to master. It's the one she trained for the most, and the one she has used the least. Due to the overwhelming power it possesses, its something she hopes she never has to use, as is a tool meant only for the most extreme of circumstances where nothing else could possibly do. It is in every way the pinnacle of her reishi manipulation techniques. It is the single greatest form of protection in Sofia’s arsenal that works as both in a defensive or offensive manner.

By extending one of her hands, a large Quincy pentacle is created with Sofia at its center. Every end of the pentacle is roughly about 50 meters away from her, meaning it posses a diameter of a 100 meters. Littered around the inner edges of the pentacle are several towering columns of reishi resembling Quincy crosses, each about 50 meters tall. If an opponent is caught within the area or steps inside, then the technique would finally come into its own and finish. In that scenario, there is a blast the likes of which Sofia cannot replicate. The power behind the explosion is such that if it was delivered as an energy blast towards the ground, it would completely destroy a large island such as Cuba or a very large state such as Texas. However, bear in mind that Sofia is always at the center of the pentacle, and anytime she moves, the center of the pentacle, and with it the technique, moves along with her. The explosion isn’t delivered to the area since it would likely cease to exist. Instead, the highly pressurized level of power is diffused entirely into the opponent within its range, making them the sole benefactor of its cataclysmic onslaught.

A fully completed Kirchenlied will leave Sofia very winded and even somewhat fatigued as it takes quite a chunk of energy to produce such an effect. For sure, a completed Kirchenlied can only be performed once per thread. However, a partially completed technique, as in one that does not go off, does not carry nearly the same level of strain, though it certainly still does to some extent. For starters, an uncompleted Kirchenlied can only be used once more, regardless of whether its completed or not that time. And beyond that, an uncompleted Kirchenlied, regardless of being devoid of the great explosive magnitude of energy it unleashes, would still drain Sofia of roughly 1/5 the amount of energy the completed technique would. Also, despite the maximum generated holy charges per post being 5, Kirchenlied is the only technique that acts as an exemption, granting 10 holy charges for the turn on top of any that were acquired during it.

Quincy Profile
クインシー・レース

Spirit Weapon

VI. Spirit Weapon

» Spirit Weapon Name: Heiling Geigenbogen/Katana

» Spirit Weapon Appearance:

Sofia's geigenbogen is a holy violin bow that looks almost exactly like the real thing. Despite a soft blue hue from the reishi string, its a solid construct. Her Geigenbogen may be used as a sword, by hardening the reishi around it, extending the handle to be grasped properly, and forming the frog of the violin bow into a small handguard. It may also be used as a bow, by easing the reishi string and pulling to fire Quincy arrows. However, from time to time, and for more ceremonial reasons or for aesthetics, she has had a tendency of carrying about her spirit weapon in the form of a katana.

» Spirit Weapon Abilities:

Sofia’s geigenbogen has a very simple ability that is inversely related to a seele schneider. While a seele behaves in a way like a chainsaw, with reishi making millions of trips a second around the edge of the blade, it serves to loosen the bonds of whatever it cuts. The seele’s main purpose it's to make it easier to capture reishi. Her geigenbogen however is known for its extremely sharp edge. Rather than loosening bonds, it simply pushes them away from the blade to allow it to cut with more ease. In essence, Sofia’s geigenbogen is able to cut with a lot more ease through objects and materials other weapons would have a much more difficulty with.

Vollstanding

» Vollständig Name: The Melody of God - Angel of Music

» Vollständig Apperance: When using her Vollstanding, Sofia is enveloped by a bright white light that leaves a glow all around her as if she was an angel. Following the angel motif, from her back, a pair of long pure white feathery wings extend. She even displays a glowing halo atop her head. Her hair grows to much longer lengths and obtains a bright blonde look. Her clothes though maintaining the gold and white pattern her uniform typically has, are changed to look more closely to what she imagines an angel would wear.

» Vollständig Abilities

The Musical Conductor: When she accesses her Vollstanding, Sofia is granted a piece and a glimpse of what she always wanted. Her ability, The Melody, normally allows her to use her unique skill to control the music she creates in order to move herself or her attacks in order to achieve a purpose. However, most of the things she does is simply pushing, pulling, or barely redirecting forces of her creation to go off to one way or another. However, once in her released state, she’s able to move things other than herself or her creations with far more control. Unlike before, when released, she’s able to use her melody to affect some incoming [energy] attacks. Just like a beautiful and soothing orchestral recital to an audience, the melodies are able to enthrall the very abilities that use spiritual energy of different kinds and sources. Bending them to the will of the peculiar and unique tempos of her music, Sofia is able to shift attacks to a different direction and end goal of her choosing. In essence, just like Vollstanding is the pinnacle of a Quincy’s power, it also reflects not just the pinnacle of her unique ability, The Melody, but it also reflects her maximum potential as a genius and musical prodigy. In this form, she is essentially the music of god or the angel of music. Regardless of how well she plays or how much better she becomes, her control would never be better than it is on her released state. However, in any case she’s unable to increase the power or the speed of the energy attacks beyond what they normally were.

However, it's not just a matter of picking any energy and taking control over it. The power of the opponents continuously attempts to fight back against the alluring ability of her Melody over their energy maneuvers. As such, exactly what she can control and to what extent is entirely dependent on her reishi manipulation mastery at the height of its power in her vollstanding when compared to her opponent’s tier. At a reishi mastery of advanced, Sofia is able to do effect as said before the energy of opponents two tiers lower than her, whereas a tier lower than her, she’s only able to push or jerk them out of the way to a random and different location. At elite that is a tier below her and equivalent tier respectively, and at master it is an equivalent tier and a tier above hers.

This control however extends only to energy attacks, as such, things like pure swordsmanship and hand to hand combat techniques are completely left out. Beyond that, while Sofia can handle and control up to five moderate energy attacks when dealing with extremely powerful blasts of highly destructive nature in comparison, she’s limited to a current maximum of two. In any case, if Sofia changes the direction or goal of an energy attack (assuming she’s capable given the above parameters), then using it for three consecutive turns would create a two post cooldown.

The Wrath of God: During her her release, Sofia obtains a blade that’s strikingly similar to the Rona blade. It seems to be because the spirit of her Regalia is so closely similar to her, seeing as its unique to the girl. Its reflection appears strongly in her Vollstanding, where the extra blade allows her to finally have a pair to the one she already possessed. Interestingly enough, all abilities and techniques available to the Rona blade in its weapon form are also available for use in this second blade. The cooldowns for all pertinent techniques available in the above are still present, so nothing really changes there. However, by having two blades, the effectiveness of the abilities and techniques displayed for both of the Rona blades increase by roughly 20%.

Sofia Montero [Approved 0-4++/0-3++] [Hazard Rating S] 44oXvsF

Vestment of Healing: As its obvious, Sofia undergoes a drastic change when accessing her release that extends far beyond that of greater power. Her hair turns blonde, her eyes blue, and the through the typical white and gold color of her uniform remains, its done so in a rather different fashion more befitting to an angel. More importantly though, when Sofia first enters her release state, the surge of holy-like energy washes over her, healing essentially any injury or ailment she may have had at the time. If there’s no ailment or injury the technique is simply not triggered. Unfortunately, this isn’t something that Sofia can call on at will or save for when she truly needs it. It can only happen when she switches into her Vollstanding, and it can only happen once per thread, so switching back and forth would have no similar effect.

The Music of God: The enhanced speed of her music during her release, The Melody of God, is dependent on her own skill in reishi manipulation mastery. When released in Vollstanding, at a mastery of advanced, her Melody can travel up to speeds of Mach 8, 9 at elite, 10 at master, and 11 at grandmaster. Again these are speeds that can be achieved at the respective skill levels if desired, but she may also will her music to travel slower if needed. Of course, these speeds are only available in a released state, as she's limited otherwise when outside of it.
