Just a quick portal to a safe spot...

That was the intent of Calypso in the moment. She had performed some business in Demon World, and now just wanted to hop to Earth to have some peace of mind. Maybe chill at the beach or find someone to help. Maybe both. Both would be nice. She liked the idea of warm sands, if anything, she really had never went to a beach to really think about it.. At least, one that wasn't made of pebbles or angry crabs. She stretched out a hand, forming a circular tear of energy to part the ways to another realm, leisurely stepping through.

Of course, none would think you could step on air. Calypso certainly didn't. Her foot helplessly hung out the other side, the rest of her body soon to follow as she barreled through, totally not expecting to yknow, be in the air, and then... Fell. Into the deep blue sea. Her trip down was met with her little girl scream, and a rather loud SPLOOSH! as she collided with the water. The surface became still for a moment, before she reemerged, rising out and panting, taking in that sweet sweet air, looking around rapidly for shore, and how deep she was; thankfully she didn't end up very far out, that would be pretty scary.

Eyes laying on the golden sands quite barely at the edge of the horizon, she sighed, "Well, that's what I get for thinking about the beach while porting..." And began paddling back. After performing the kind of annoying action of long distance swimming, she kind of let the waves do their job, soon washing up on the pearly shores. The young one was lying on her back, cussing gentle complaints under her breath, mostly about how swimming sucked, though otherwise, her body appeared completely dry; She didn't want to be wet, therefore her body followed such desire.

The Madman of the Outlands

Oda Tatsuya
おだ たつや

What was it about the sea that made someone want to say an important word phrase. Well, that was a mystery because among other things Tatsuya had never seen water this large. So cannonball it was as he jumped into the water making a giant splash into the water. He wasn't graceful as he floated under the water for a time now simply looking up at the sky. Seeing the sun shimmering through the watery abyss. He smiled a bit and merely took in what was ahead of him. It was a murky depth that was interesting to see through. He'd not been in water like this before as his mouth tasted the salt. He could feel Volcanoes in the distances from him beneath the sea. So close he could manipulate them yet but saw no purpose in that. His frame was covered by a loincloth only. Traditional Japanese swimwear was nothing to scoff at. His body from head to toe was scarred with several sword wounds across his face and torso in many locations. Most of his injuries were related to being cut by weapons of some manner or form. His normal messy black hair was sleek and clinging to his head. His almost amber eyes flickering like a flame opened slowly. As he emerged from the water merely drifting back to the shore slowly. Letting his muscled torso ride the waves back, he'd not noticed the woman till he floated in next to her. What had made him decide to jump from an elevated point into the ocean. Part of it could be brought down to him merely wanting an experience true. But the other part was to clear his brain and enjoy himself for a bit. It was exhilarating but not that much fun for him. Water kind of sucked as steam began coming off his body. Hissing noises could be heard as he sat up slowly the water not able to touch him. This wasn't due to any great reason truthfully. His body temperature ran too high for water like this to do much. The sand felt strange as far as textures go. Sand was coarse and just plain annoying in general. Rough and grating was another good term for it as he blinked looking as though he finally noticed her.

" Oh, fancy meeting someone here. Sorry if I startled you, I jumped off that cliff to do a cannonball." He said pointing at a nearby cliff base perfect for jumping into the water at. He held his hand out to the female as he remained sitting. Tatsuya was six feet and two inches tall, giving him a rather towering form to some. Even sitting he still was a big guy for most to encounter. This was just the way of things as he glanced outward at the sea. Not sure how he felt about the large body of water as of yet. Disdain or hate could be good terms for some things. This was a tolerable thing truthfully, he didn't have a real anything about it. Indifference didn't count as much of anything. Besides while it was thrilling to jump from a high place with no stopping mechanism. It didn't serve many purposes beyond that really. He still remembered the volcano bathing he did the one time. His men were terrified of him for half a year after that one.

Still certainly did work his muscles problems out rather effectively. "I'm Tatsuya, nice to meet you." He said waiting for her to take his hand and hopefully shake it if anything. Though he suspected she might find him something or another. He was a rather intimidating looking fellow with his scars and frightening appearance overall.

Calypso was lying in the sand for a good while, probably intending to stay there, as the occasional wave shyly touched her body, before retreating back to it's brethren. She stared at the waves as they splashed on the soaked shores of... Who knows whereville, some flecks of sand remaining in her hair, though her body refused to get wet. As they came and went, Cali made it a little game to pass time, not like she had much else to do, not immediately. As they came, she uttered a small 'Hi', and as they left, she spoke, 'Bye'. This monotonous activity continued til she heard footsteps, the flutterings of foreign emotions touching her conscious mind. She didn't move, the presence wasn't threatening in the least, til some guy was blocking the sun all of a sudden, apologizing for the hypothetical event of frightening her.

She blinked lazily, she never even noticed someone else here, much less someone doing a 'cannonball' off a cliff, following his pointed finger to the far higher edge that graciously met the sea. She saw him sink from her vision, sitting down, which then of course compelled her to actually sit up, releasing a yawn and grasping his hand without missing a beat, shaking gently, a soft, glowing smile creasing her lips, "Tat... suya... Tat.. Tat... Tati, i'll call you Tati, Or would you prefer Suya?" She was so quick to come up with a nickname, not really out of being unable to pronounce the name, rather, just to have something simple (and perhaps cute) to refer to him as, "I'm Calypso Asthavon, but you can just call me Cali~ Nice to meet you!"

She seemed to quickly ogle over his scars, golden eyes wide as she ran a finger over one without really thinking about it, "Woaah..! You got really beat up a lot didn't you?! Have you fought a lot in your life?" She spoke like a child admiring something completely innocent, "I don't really like the whole fighting thing.. But it kinda looks like soon i'll have to do that a lot, how do you deal with that?"

She had a pout, looking to be dreading the thought of harming others.

Tati was acceptable far as he was concerned. The girl ran her fingers along his scars as though tracing lines. "A few are from my time as a boy. I grew up in a place where things were hard. But scars are reminders of survival I believe. So I don't wear them with any sadness or regrets." He said smiling as he looked at the girl. Noticing the pout he could understand that. Sachiko and Kagami didn't like combat much either. It wasn't really their thing though he did enjoy the odd scuffle. He thought a land of smiles would be nice in the long run. "For me, it's about the smiles. See I want to build a land where everyone can smile someday. So fighting sometimes sadly is needed to protect that dream. " He said admitting his goal to her for some reason thought it was best to explain this way. Tatsuya merely shrugged and smiled as he stretched outwards. Tatsuya didn't really have a mind for all the strategy or perks that came with it. Tsubasa's department again seemed to be in that field.

"I think you need a reason sometimes to fight, to protect something important to you. Makes us stronger than we ever imagined possible." He tried to think about it before taking a finger drawing in the wet sand. Tatsuya heated his finger with Magma slowly drawing a blackened line in the sand. Allowing for a glass to form quickly around the picture he drew as the water quickly hissed and vanished. He was drawing a circle in the sand making something for her. Injecting magma into it was he made the shape and began to cool it with his hand. Making sure to keep her away from the lava that dripped from his fingertip. After he finished doing it Tatsuya let the water hit it causing a massive hiss of steam to hit the air. Reaching down he touched it, causing the black mass to rapidly cool quickly. He'd made the girl a necklace of Obsidian Glass with a bunny on it. " Or you can take a trip and see every perspective possible like I am. " I said softly holding out the cooled obsidian rabbit for her. Its eyes and figure drawn very cutely.

A little frown creased the young one's face, her head tilting to the side as, albeit not very detailed, he spoke of his life not being the best, slowly retracting her curious finger, though she still read him as rather happy in emotional sensations, so it just compelled her to smile back, "That's not fun, growing up somewhere hard.." was all she could really say about the subject, though she lit right up with his next string of statements.

"Hey, that's kinda what I wanna do!" Her golden eyes sparkled with mutual happiness, "I wanna make a world where everyone can be happy and not have to suffer!"
She obviously got pretty caught up with the mutual vision, a smile curled on her face, "Sure sure, doesn't sound the most realistic, buuuut i'm gonna figure... Oh hey what're you doing?"

Her head tilted to look at him drawing something in the sand, eyes wide with curiosity as she then saw magma spew from his finger, which caused her jaw to drop as the glow of melted rock was soon stripped of it's power, becoming a rather cute shape; A bunny necklace.

"Holy SHIT," Gingerly removing the necklace and casually wrapping it around one of her wrists; her neck was preoccupied with her "scarf", but then quickly snatched his hand, "Can you make lava with your FINGERS?! Doesn't that hurt? I mean you don't feel hurt? How does that work, man?!"

The girl panted, soon calming down as she descended into relaxed laughter, "...Sorry, sorry, that was a lot of energy at once.. Heh... Wew.. Well, i'm trying to build myself into a stronger person myself, to make that vision come true, yknow?"

She looked at the necklace wrapped around her arm with a smile, "I like this though, too kind of you! Unfortunately I can't spew lava from my fingers to make you something.."

He smiled at the reaction, most people found it shocking he could do that. Manifesting Lava and feeling nothing from it as he listened to her questions taking each seriously with a smile. He took her hand putting it where his heart was and letting her feel it. Heat on his body and under that skin was immense. It was like his body burned a warmth of supernatural qualities. It didn't hurt her, because he didn't will it to do so. "I was born like this, my blood is extremely hot. Believe it or not, I can sit in a volcano that's active without being harmed." He let her feel as long as she needed too. Tatsuya believed in the stories of the Hearth and how important they were. In a lot of cultures, the Hearth was the place people would gather with smiles. Sharing stories and many things so he believed very keenly that it was possible. How would he go about building his Country of Smiles was the question he felt unsure on. For all his power over the volcanic world, he couldn't find himself with an idea.

Fighting Stefan had been helpful for him to figure out where he stood. Perhaps his student could aid in the construction of such an ambition. No, it couldn't be connected to Tsubasa, a land of smiles needed something else. The military wasn't the key element to that. It came down to the person behind it all as he smiled a bit. He shook his head smiling a bit at her. "Don't worry about it, I thought a bunny would be cute. So I made it." Tatsuya didn't have reasons for a lot of things he did. The questions about a land of smiles were harder to define then one could first figure. You had elements that simply required examination. People were fickle and his strength at the moment was lacking. Besides that what else could he do besides spew lava as she put it? It was gonna be a long road to find his answers it seemed.

Cali's eyes were wide as he brought her hand to feel his rather bare chest, feeling his heartbeat from beneath his flesh, an immense warmth in his being far more intense than any organic she had ever touched before. She couldn't help but be amazed in this man, Tati; the idea of surviving high temperatures was something she really only saw in dreams, it was a different beast meeting someone who could actually generate that type of ability in reality. Her eyes were glittering with child-like excitement from her interest, in him and his ideas.

She kept her hand, which bore the obsidian necklace wrapped on her wrist, on his chest, "It is really cute... I do like it, sir." The smile on her face was warm, though she seemed to jump up, removing her hand from his warmth, as she clasped them together, "Oh! I know what!"

Gently closing her eyes and focusing, soon a few golden moths with carved wings peeled away from her flesh and casually fluttered about, the flapping of their wings giving a sense of calm and relaxation by mere sound, even if it was a small few of them.

"I can make these guys, though um.. They're rather fragile, even breathing on them wrong makes them stop working.."
She softly chuckled as one landed on an outstretched finger, "Obvious exaggeration but... These guys are as durable as a thin sheet of glass. I use my dream abilities to make them to help stuff calm down from afar... Cuz... Well, not many things that want to eat me are eager enough to get close to and cuddle me when they'd rather me in their tummy. Its usually easier to do it with just my body."

She then leaned in a bit, some of the strange insects perching in her hair, "Sooo, what brings you to the sea? Accidental portaling was my way out here.."

He merely smiled and listened to what she had to say. Calypso was a fascinating girl that much was sure. He watched them move around observing how she made them. Combat didn't need to be her thing or for everyone. Tatsuya thought about it and had an idea for her. He would do something for her a bit more impressive. They came from her skin and acted in such a rather unique method. His digits gently pushed him to his feet as he considered what could try and eat this one. She was innocent, though this world was a rather cruel and strange realm. He guessed he could understand someone attempting that. "I think that's cool, I can't do things like that. Lava doesn't really let me create a lot of things. " One thing that most didn't expect about Tatsuya and perhaps a rare trait among beings. He held this down to earth persona. Something about him stood away from power and prowess the more he traveled. In a sense he became more human in many ways as this world was infinitely larger then he would have expected.

"Honestly, it was my first time seeing the Ocean. Where I come from we didn't have that only small ponds and stuff. So a large body of water like this was too good to pass up seeing. " He wanted to see this world in it's shining shimmering splendor now more than anything. So for the first time in fifteen hundred years, he had something worth doing. It wasn't fighting or politics it was merely going around this global and learning. Combat was something that could be fun sure. But he lacked something that in this world was needed. Experience outside of the place he called home. Experience to travel this distance and see what lingered on the horizon. "I'm on a journey to see the world, my goal is a Land of Smiles. But to do that I want to see what is in this world and many others. Why they can't seem to coexist in a harmony. So for that, you've got to journey across the lands far and wide." He didn't stay in hotels or use travel methods. He was walking and going by old school methods by large when doing things.

Tatsuya was a survivalist at his core and could live almost anywhere. No place was to harsh for this old Shinigami to call home. Even a desert would be fine with him in the long run. He had training in fields most people wouldn't have dreamed of. Tatsuya knew how to build from wood, stone, and many things. One could say he was an architect and construction builder. Tatsuya had an eye for that sort of old style building for some reason. But he'd explained himself and she had herself, it was only time to wait how this played out.

Ohhh boy did this little demon immediately take issue with the male's response to her beautiful little moths. She took so much issue, she was compelled to her feet, wide eyed, mouth ready to spill a handful on this guy.

"What do you mean it can't make much?!"
A little hop came from this cutie as she portrayed her outrage, "Close minded sir! You are close minded! I can say like, 10 things lava or magma or whatever molten rock lies within your body can make! 10 amazing, great things!"

This list superseded all of her curiosity in this moment, she had to express to this guy how much possibility he was missing out on. Her excitement engulfed her actions, causing her to be over expressive and rather loud, rather derivative of her normal self. Today was an exciting day and she was gonna eat the hell out of that horse!

"One!" A single finger was produced, "Islands! Lava can make islands! Loads of islands! Continents with enough of the stuff!" For simplication's sake, she threw up a new finger with each go and any interruptions were swallowed by her excitement, "Two! A statue! You can control that stuff, you can make like... Statues! Three, uhhh... A house, a city even! Could make a whole city out of the cooled stuff with enough time and expertise in the art of... Magma bending or whatever! Four! Stuff like this! Like, jewelry!" She gingerly waved the obsidian creation, a sparkle in her eyes, "Lots of gemstones are created from lava's interaction! Five! A... A wall! I mean, the wall could come part with the city but, walls are good! Walls are great! Six... Six..."

The girl blinked slowly, as albeit her energy was present and like a firecracker, it was running out as soon as it began, "...Six... Siiiix... Thinking's hard gonna rest..."

And, hilariously, the young demon faceplanted into the sand, softly groaning from the amount of loud thinking she just committed to, immediately chewing on that soapy bar of embarrassment, "Uuuhhhhhooohhhh...."

Her moan was very muffled by the sand, as she soon sighed, "Aaaahh I went too hot.. Sorry about thaht.."

He blinked and glanced at his hands as he considered that. Tatsuya had always viewed his power as a more destructive thing. But it could create as well, cities and many things like she said. He was frozen by this girl's passionate speech to him. In fifteen hundred years he thought he understood Amateratsu's power best and now it came more clear. Islands and so many things were possible. Perhaps the nation didn't need to be somewhere in this world. Perhaps someday he could make a nation in the ocean. How much power would it take him to create the Island of Magma? His eyes looked down at his hand as he considered what he could do with it. Was his journey not about discovering the world or the sword? He had to think about this even further as it never crossed his mind to make a country. To make a place quite literally from scratch for his home of smiles. Tatsuya could only sit and consider the possible outcomes. Lava the power of the Volcano slept in his body. He could see the destructive potential for certain.

But it's more creative aspects they were harder, he stood up again having fallen as her fingers were raised. She'd surprised him with the passionate speech. Tatsuya's eyes closed now as he began to focus on an image in his mind. Imagining the details as he extended his right hand reaching out. He could feel the manifestation of the liquid heat dripping from his body. It seemed to come off him similar to sweat on a person. The Magma surged and began forming a shape as the statue of Calypso finished. It began rapidly cooling as he willed it to do so. Precise control was the key element here. As the female's clothing and attire were even designed into the statue's figure. He wasn't sure how well it looked when he was still focusing. Slowly the last bit fell into place cooling as he exhaled opening his eyes. The statue was large and almost looked like a monument to Calypso. He smiled satisfied with that as he considered the process. He could make an Island with this power when the time was right.

"Thank you so much, I never thought about how I could create things with it. It never even dawned on me I could make a Country. Not go and task one from some person. No land can be built on smiles when you take something ya know? " Tatsuya rubbed his chin thinking for a moment as he looked around. As though searching for something when he glanced towards a nearby Mountain. He could sense it over there, a Volcano was active and bubbling. He could do that to repay her for sure. Take her on a drive through lava and let her see what it looked like inside. In a way that didn't burn or hurt her. But she'd need to hold on tight of course. "Over there is an active Volcano, how about I take you through the lava to the core? I can protect you from the heat." He said smiling waiting to hear her response. Though he questioned if she would hear him or be staring at her statue now in awe or something along those lines for it.
