» Appearance Written: Ryu is not a very tall man as he stands at 5 feet and 9 inches tall, he weighs in at 195 pounds of athletic build. His hair is short and styled into a number of spiky strands pointing backwards with some prominent spikes topping his forehead, his eyes are a pircing silver and it's as if a hawk is glearing at you. He wears the normal black robes that the soul reapers wear, over his right eye he has a small scar that starts a few inches above his eye brow then ends a few inches below the bottom of his eye. Over the bridge of his nose is a bandage that helps him to breath.

» Personality: Ryu is a arrogant and self adsorbed man which is to cover his fear of not being able to prove his self in the eyes of others. So to get attention Ryu resorts to breaking rules or trying to be a over achiever.

He is normally a dick to people until he gets to know them but even then he can still be a sarcastic ass to people. tho he only dose that cause it's the only way he knows how to draw attention to him self even if it's negative.

Ryu is not one for senseless fighting so he dose not go out looking for fights but that dose not mean he will not fight some one who puts him or his friends down. cause he is a ass hole most people will try to fight him, and since he dose not like bully's he has a problem with not backing down to people.

He is always trying to prove him self so he acts as if he is better then others, most times it comes off as smug so people do not try to get close and at other times it makes people want to challage him.

In general Ryu is a easy going person at least until he speaks then he is a ass, he is pretty smart at stuff but at times he can miss things that's right in front of his face.

Ryu loves to read so he collects manga and on his down time if he is not training he can be seen reading manga.

Likes: dogs. Rainy days/nights. Raman noodles. Sake. Training.

Dislikes: spicy food. Hollows. Spiders.



» History: Ryu like many shinigami dose not know much about his human life except for bits and pieces that he sees in flashes every once and a while. From what he knows he lived a life as a monk in the late Edo period. How he died as a human he was still not sure for he has yet to get any hint at that threw his dreams.

Ryu grew up in district 6 in rugonkai, it was not the ritchest parts but it saw more coin come and go then that of the slums like hanging dog or ziraki. His parents owned a budest temple slash shop which they sold odd trinkets, he could not complain as it put food on the table and in his stomach. His sister was the smarter of the two so he was always looked at to have high expectations so to not be out done by his younger sibling. Since his sister was always seen to be more liked he was always getting in trouble so to get some attention even if most of the time it was not positive.

When he was older Ryu joined the Shinigami academy and managed to graduate with top marks in only two years of being there. His kido teacher was very surprised at how well he could control and handle reishi that he recommended that he join the 2 squad that deals in kido. After joining he did some missions and gained enough experience that he managed to reach the rank of 8 seat inside the squad, at the same time tho he also gained a reputation of being a ass hole so not many people wanted to be around him.

Ryu now works along side the 5th seat to help with what ever needs done from doing cleaning, delivery of mail down to killing hollows that roam into the rugonkai area.



» Equipment:
# 1: hell butterfly:
Ryu uses the hell butterfly to send and receive messages from the gotai United or from squad members.

# 2: gekai:
Ryu uses the gekai when ever he goes to the world of the living, this allows humans to be able to see or react with them.



» Racial Abilities: Hoho: when Ryu graduated from the Shinigami academy he got top marks for his flash step technique, he is not the fastest or even the best when it comes to hoho but he can keep up with the best of them.

Zanjutsu: out of all his classes Ryu was never practically good at welding a sword and he always messed up on his stances so his grades was pretty poor. If you had to put him in a group he was probably no better then a 20th seat officer.

Hakuda: Ryu is fairly decent in hand to hand combat and has the strength to fight evenly with a 5 seat officer tho he dose not like to fight using his fists if he has a choice.

Kido: Ryu got top scores in his kido class and is good enough to use most of the lower level ones with out using a incantation. He was proficient enough that he was able to create new kido by combining them.





» Zanpakutô Name: Rinjoku

» Zanpakutô Spirit Appearance: his spirit takes on the form of a fighting monk and is the complete opposite of Ryu. He stands six feet tall and wears the same black kimono that the Shinigami have. Around his neck there is a necklace that consests of large wooden beads. He has short black hair that comes down to his eyes and he Carry's a long staff.

» Inner World: The inner world of the spirit is that of a large Forrest, where there is a monks building in the center of the woods where a lake surrounds the building. There is four Bridges that connect from the building and goes all the way over the lake and attaches to the ground.

» Zanpakutô Appearance: blade is black with a distinct white hamon (hardening line) and its tsuba (hand-guard) has flower-like edges,hamon is reddish purple and Kanemoto style, having the appearance of a saw or sharp teeth. It has no accessories on the hilt, being wrapped with black silk. Kashira, tsuba and kojiri end cap are golden, and the sheath is black, decorated with dark red circles split in even thirds.

»  Sealed Zanpakutô  Power:
Seal of explosion: Ryu touches his opponent in a spot on there body and when he does it leaves behind a mark on them, if they attempt to use kido or a ability it causes there attack to backfire and explode where the mark is.

Barrier shield: Ryu can manipulate his zanpakto power to form a barrier around his hand and arm when he can use to block attacks or to make his attacks stronger



» Shikai Release Phrase: Clash

» Shikai Release Action: Ryu takes his zanpakto as he places the point of the blade against the palm of his hand as the end of the handle is on his other hands palm, Ryu then pushes in as the blade looked like he pushed it I to nothing then as it looks like he is praying. He then puts his arms out in front of him as the sword covers his arms to form his shikai.

» Shikai Appearance:
When Ryu enters shikai his sword transforms into a pair of gold elbow length armor gauntlets.

» Shikai Abilities: In shikai his zanpakto helps to strengthen his kido arts as well as allows him to make energy barrier.

Not only do they increase his kido power but if used the right way he can even boost his physical attacks by using his spiritual power.

# 1: barrier wall:
being a export at barrier thanks to his zanpakto Ryu raises both hands out as he forms a 12 foot high by 12 foot wide wall that is able to block attacks.

# 2: barrier dome:
this technique has two uses that can be implemented, the first is by making a five foot around dome that covers Ryu all around blocking attackings from all sides. The other is being able to trap a enemy inside one, no attack can go though it from the out side unless it's stronger then the dome and the same goes for the inside. Ryu tho can phase his hand into the dome so he can make a compact explosion with kido or a ability.

# 3 kido amplifier
His zanpakto has the power to enhance his physical and energy based attacks as well as make seals and barriers. By utilizing this skill Ryu can increase the attack power of his kido skills while in shikai.

# 4 giga punch
Coating his gauntlets in a layer of a thin barrier he is able to amplify the power of his punchs by two times his strength. The only drawback to this ability is that once he connects with it he has to wait three posts before he is able to use it again.

# 5 barrier disc
Ryu forms a yellow barrier in the shape of a 3 feet around disc that has saw blades around the edges, Ryu throws this disk at the enemy, Ryu has the ability to control it's path so he can have it chase down the enemy.

»  Roleplay Sample:  
It was Ryu first day in squad three along with his friend niomi shinada who was a year ahead of Ryu in the Shinigami academy, but he was smart enough to graduate early. He was supposed to head over to the large hall to listen to some entrance speech but he did not feel up to it for it was just a drag.

He already knew what they was gonna say and he was not to excited like most to know what his rank would be, if they wanted to put him in a high possession then he would rather earn it. So climbing up into a tree he laid down on a branch while he read his latest issue of monthly jump as he listened to what was being said inside the hall.

It was about thirty minutes into the meeting when he heard a girl's voice from the bottom of the tree so looking down he noticed that it was his friend niomi tho she did not look very happy. 

" You idiot how can you be missing the big speech on your first day, I know your all smart and stuff Ryu but come on at least behive today of all days. So let's go and we should be able to make it to the tests where they put us in our proper ranks." 

With a large sigh Ryu got down from the tree as he brushed the pine needles off his kimono. " I'm only doing this to shut you up so let's get going niomi." The two of them made there way over to the squad 3 training field where other members was already lined up in a military line. 

Ryu and niomi walked up as the teacher was finishing up his speech and from the look that he gave the two of them as they arrived told him that he had no intention of repeating him self.

" It's nice to see that some around here could find the time to show up on time, but as I was saying you shall all be tested in four different categories. Shunpo,hand to hand combat,kido and lastly zanjutsu the way of the sword.

Now you should all be familiar with each class since you learned them all while in the academy. So when I call your name you shall step up and demonstrate the appropriate skill in which we are testing in. First shall be hand to hand, after kido after that zanjutsu and lastly shunpo."

One after another the Shinigami was paird up to spar and wouldn't you know it Ryu was unlucky to to have to go up against a gaint. And it was even worse that they was having to use there fists, it was not like he could not handle his self he just did not like fighting with his hands.
