How long was it going to take for the days to stop blurring into nights, for the people around him to stop feeling so goddamned predictable? Every party in the city of lights was the same, these days: People would always ask the same ten or fifteen questions, sometimes two or three times in a row, before he could finally get the point across to them. Some days he wondered if just reaching down with one of his hands and snapping the neck of some whimpering little shit would finally get people to look up and pay attention. Break some portion of the haze that had settled over their minds, trapping them in these tedious routines.

Instead, he simply stood in front of another person, glassy-eyed, his smile fragmenting at the sides as he tried to explain for the tenth time in four minutes that -yes- he technically ate souls, but that souls were a metaphysical abstract that could be sublimated with countless other short-term fixes, and swapping through them was extremely effective. It just always went back to a few words, in a particular order, that everyone wished to hear. He'd actually considered printing out business cards with the most common questions, just to show people how uninspired their criticisms of his lifestyle were, at this point.

Three hundred days and counting, since he'd actually bothered trying to contact the outside world. It really gave him a sense of perspective when he thought of just how -busy- the year leading up to this peace was...and how boring the time before then had been. And yet, somehow, these three hundred days were competing extremely strongly with the hundreds of years before then for the most painfully uneventful he'd experienced.

Vegas was a fun place... Kind of!

Calypso decided to go sight seeing out in what was known so lovingly as 'Sin City'. Well, she couldn't say the nickname was incorrect, from her casual research it seems there's a lot of things going on, like gambling or shops. To a younger Cali this would be skin-crawlingly horrifying, but to her, sounded like a good time. Apparently the 'best' time to be out was at night, and thus did Cali do.

Thankfully not performing a shoddy job at getting there safely, she walked out from behind a pole, and was immediately confronted with a swarm of people, like a nest full of either disgruntled, drunk, or ready to party bees. Except these bees were people, or some race she couldn't pick up on, too many entities around at once. She smiled as she was able to walk through the crowd with relative peace. Sure, her mind was buzzing with many analyses of people's emotions, but that was far easier to manage than being bombarded and forced to feel them, she felt a warm thanks to that wolf woman as she went about her night.

She went around, got some candy, maybe cheated a kiddy prize machine she found in an arcade for a cute Dalmation dog doll that caught her eye (maybe even a small game console from one of the more desperate machines she discreetly tucked away). I mean, it wasn't like anyone else was gonna get it, and that these machines werent cash grabs. It was just good fun and she wouldn't be caught! Probably only soothed her guilty thoughts more that some idiot came by and smashed the screen to steal from the machine a few minutes later, probably drunk or just stupid and saw her doing that as she made a hasty getaway.

Though as she was going to get ice cream, she sensed disappointment and heard a kid crying, who had dropped a cone with his mother patting his shoulder and saying she couldn't get another one, trying to comfort her kid. She stared quietly for a moment, lamenting her own mother for a moment, though she shook her head, walked over and tapped the woman on the shoulder, producing the game console from her "coat",
"Hey, I think he'd need this more than I do.. Was more of an... Impulse buy, to be honest. I'll get him another cone too."
She smirked as the lady looked at her wide eyed, "W-wait I can't accept-"
"Too late! Yours now!" She shoved it into the lady's arms, going inside and then right back out handing the kid a cone of the flavor he had dropped, and a pat on the head, "There ya go, gotta go bye! Be good to your mommy!"

Anyway, she decided to stop by something she never really tried; some random club that she found appealing, her eyes narrowing at the crowd. Too bad they didn't have teleportation! She then performed the little trick, appearing inside, in which the amount of people made her feel as if she was a packed sardine.

There was a lot of stimulating things present, along with people probably doing and/or offering some hard drugs, which she inched away from as quickly as possible. She sat down to get a drink, or two, or five. Five. Let's just say her second helping of alcohol in her entire life was a bit thirstier than the first; she only really got to have a single cup of wine from her sibling and that didn't feel like nearly enough of a kick.

But uh, this was too much kick, way too much kick. Her dancing got stupid sloppy, not like her skills were very good in the first place. Definitely felt fun, even if she felt like she blacked out for a bit.

Next she knew she was leaning against a door, out of the noise, hearing it blaring behind her, the girl panting softly, "Ooohh shit..." She mumbled, rubbing her head, "..Fuck how much did I down again.. Heh."

She tried to take some steps, but instead of really walking she fell over instead, "...Oooh shit why is the world sideways... Ow.. Oowwowow.. Where the fuck am I anyway?!"

Her tone was hardly mad or angry, more like... Aggressively happy and jovial. She even had a weird kinda smile on her face, small bouts of giggling erupting from her throat as she lied on the ground, not looking too hot, "..Ohey carpet nice to see ya again!"

She awkwardly formed tendrils, the blackened formations lazily looking for something to catch in order to pick it's master up, but to no avail did she really leave the ground, more awkwardly swaying her additional limbs until someone said something to her.

The Flame Of Hope

Artist: Hammerfall - Song: Hearts On Fire

Las Vegas was a place to attract a woman like Ulv. There was a great deal of negativity in this place, from people losing at slots, people losing at love, and people losing at keeping their life in one piece. Sometimes she liked to top up her funds by using her kinetic sense to abuse the dice or make proposition bets for drunk punters, but only the really rich ones. And Ulv's heart could feel who was rich and who was here for a weekend. But most of the time, she was just here to keep people from reaching the endgame of despair.

And then, while walking along in a stunning amber dress that sparkled in the light, she came across a crashed out Demon talking to her good friend the floor. A crashed out Demon that she knew pretty well. Shaking her head softly, Ulv's heels clicked across the ground as she walked up to the woman.
"Calypso. What have you been up to?" She asked, looming over her with the tone of a stern mother who had just caught their daughter coming home from a party they had snuck out to. But, it was a loving mother even if she was stern, and Calypso's well-being was the most important.

People around Yaksha began to speak, but he was hardly paying any mind anymore; he could've guessed with about three tries whatever inane conversation they wanted to have, could've filled in all their parts of the dialogue. In the recent years, Yaksha had found himself the only real conversational partner he could enjoy interacting with. And now, lo and behold, one of the worst conversationalists he'd ever had the pleasure of meeting was now standing about fifteen feet below him, not too far from a flight of stairs, at the bottom of which there rested what looked very much like a young girl, sprouting black tentacles from her body to help her back to her feet.

Yeah, Vegas had become a pretty crazy place since it had been created, but even so Yaksha wasn't that high. Demons, almost certainly. He rose a hand, simply muttering the word 'bookmark' before beginning to walk down the staircase, his wings curling around his chest like he was wearing a scarf or a stole. He didn't speak until his shadow had fallen over Ulv and Calypso, and when he did it was in a cool, dispassionate voice.

"How can I make this interaction as mercifully brief as possible? We both know it's going to happen, regardless of my feelings on the matter, so. Yes, hi, hello. I'm still here. I don't really plan on going anywhere else."

Calypso made several groaning noises as her tendrils feebly looked for something to prop her up, her mouth running about random subjects that came to her drunk little mind, til one of her tendrils touched something rather... Muscle-y, her hearing a familiar voice above her.

"Wolf lady!"
The girl cheerfully cried, propping herself up on her hands and outstretched arms, before slowly looking down, her brows raising as if in surprise, "...Oh shit.. I forgot I have arms." She looked behind her, gently kicking out one of her feet, "And a leg! Hahaha..."

Instead of doing the reasonable thing and actually make another attempt at coming back up to her feet, her tendrils seemed to.. Glitch and dematerialize, the young demon crawling to Ulv and wrapping her arms around her legs like some toddler wishing to show love through hugs, though was too short to really reach the torso. In this case, too drunk to reach the torso.

"Alcohol! I only dra-drunk alcohol.. I swearsies."
She pointed rather objectively at Ulv, as if trying to shove the point that she didn't do anything risky or dangerous tonight, "Swearzzzies. Came fer fun..."
She gently embraced her legs, until action to remove her was made, rubbing her face against them like a kitty wanting attention.

A bit delayed, but her head turned slightly to see a man.. Wait no that wasn't a freakin' man!
"Hhholy shit," Calypso cussed quite hard, "That guy is black n white n red all over!"
She couldn't help but laugh, clearly referencing the joke, not really mocking him, more just finding something minuscule funny as fuck.

The Flame Of Hope

Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road

Reaching down to pick up Calypso like she was a wayward toddler and then pick her up so she wouldn't go anywhere and do anything bad, Ulv turned her eyes to Yaksha. There was a moment where her presence became truly overwhelming, as if she was a giant of infinite width and greatness. But it passed and instead the air was filled with a soft warmth, comfortable and calming. It wrapped around everyone it could reach - and with Ulv's power it's reach was far - and with it's light came a comforting hug. With it's embrace came the loss of pain, the soothing of ragged edges and the gentle encouragement to improve. To become better than you were, and to let go of that which hurt you. Ulv's Resolve Flame was a fantastic tool for her goal to stand as the sword against all the negativity in the world.

Whatever else could be felt from Ulv, she was immediately, and obviously superior to who she was in such a dramatic, drastic way. Like the sun was superior to a single ant. People stopped in their tracks and stared, others failed to stop in their tracks and inevitably walked into something, but all could feel with every sense, the tangible passion emanating from Ulv. She stood as a beacon of light, a beacon of hope, a beacon of Will. The mere idea that one could dissuade this woman was stricken from the mind by her presence alone. When looking upon Ulv, all manner of things were felt possible, and failure was not among those. To look upon her, it really did feel like any of her decisions were forgone conclusions on wither she could do them, merely a matter of time until they were done.

"A most interesting powerset, to both have clairvoyance and to give another the same. Still, if we both know what is going to happen, then I best come in, since the conversation we have had has already happened. This one needs tucking into bed, you and I have a lot to talk about, and chatting outside a casino in a dress like this will garner no positive outlooks"

Behind an inscrutable mask, Yaksha seemed to give off no reaction that could be seen...he simply watched, blinking with the slowness of a reptile, as Ulv decided to metaphyiscally flex her muscles, trying to awe everyone nearby into silence. He felt it, just as they did; a warmth, searing but not uncomfortable, like he had just gone through an incredibly hot shower, and come out squeaky clean on the other side. He glanced down at his own hand, waggling the claws experimentally, and then began to extend his own wings; they clipped straight through the stairwell and wall, only half of them visible at any given moment.

Inside, however, his emotions were...equally as bland. There was nothing but disappointment etched into his every feature as he looked down at the vizard in front of him, as if he were filing her away in one of a set of endlessly huge sorting cabinets, and whatever he'd filed her under was not an especially positive heading. He inhaled with laborious slowness, and then glanced down towards Calypso, his demeanor warming up quickly as he reached down with a hand, as if trying to pry her off of Ulv's leg.

"Listen closely. The organ you'll want to use is called the endoplasmic reticulum. If you focus on it you should be able to sober up in thirty seconds, if that. I won't force you, but it's certainly not a good idea to go wandering around this city in a diminished state."

He then glanced back towards Ulv, wings twitching faintly, as he turned back around, rising to his full height with a series of unsettling-looking folding motions.

"You've developed an equally irksome talent, I see. Do you mind if I just let you do all the talking and go about my day as if you weren't here? Because we don't have anything to discuss, not in the slightest. You have demands, or requests, or whatever else it is you have. I'll hear them, and then you'll be on your way. There's no point in that conversation where input from me is necessary or warranted."

Ulv gave a warm smile and softly shook her head at Yaksha's attempts to advise Calypso into sobering up by using one of her organs. Which, had a certain problem.
"Calypso doesn't have any organs, Yaksha. She's a metaphysical dream in a physical casing. Or something strange like that, I couldn't quite understand it exactly" she then looked to Yaksha. Feeling that he remained as bland as ever, she was not surprised she interacted with Mirja and later Ulv if this was how he felt. So Ulv would just have to solve it. Every moment spent in her Flame's aura, even on low output as it was, would kindle more desire to progress. There would be a progressive death of stagnation, and a progressive birth of passion, to see not only one's self but also those around you prosper and progress upon their path.

"Yes, I suppose for a person like you who seems to have always seen the world so blandly, my Resolve Flame is a very irksome talent. What are you going to do when there is finally some spice in your life? What will happen when you have to fight to keep up that shield of nonchalance? When the desire to see something come of the world and your own glorious dreams becomes to much to suppress under the gruff and gritty demeanour you have cultivated?"

"Sshhhash! I got sum just uhhh... not whaddever the hecky that's supposed to be... Kay kay gimmie a sec i'll s-sober up in the not gross way..."

She held up an awkwardly wobbly finger, shutting her eyes for a second. Within this moment, while not visible, she transferred the intoxicating chemicals present in her body towards her metaphysical flesh, the fog in her golden eyes lifting rather quickly, "Hoh kay since my mind doesn't feel like i'm walking on sunshine, two things,"

She rose one finger, "One, i'm not in a physical casing, my pretty great body is just an expression of my metaphysical flesh that is produced from... Well i'm not going that deep into sharing, hehe. Point being there IS a part of my body that's perpetually physical that just pulls the metaphysical gunk out and shapes it to my desire without much effort, at least, up to a certain point. As far as organs I only really have a heart and lungs. ANYWAY numberu two!"

She pointed at Yaksha with two fingers, her rather focus expression softening up to one of surprise, "..So you're Yaksha?! I mean, Ulv mentioned you in passing but..." She spontaneously peeled away from Ulv's grasp, immediately racing up to the much taller, bonier being, crying out in surprise as she grasped one of his hands, "I know that Hollows exist that wouldn't bite my face off on sight, but I have never seen one quite as wild looking as you! Wild in the good way.. Ah.. Sorry."

She stepped away from him, staring at him with child-like excitement, "You're amazing..! How do you and Ulv know each other?!"

She looked between him and the Vizard, her fists rocking up and down excitedly as the young being hopped quite a bit, like some excited bunny.

"She relentlessly bullies me and makes ridiculous demands that I have little choice but to follow through on. It's very much like being a dog, I suppose. The difference being that I hate every single moment of it and want nothing more than for Ulv to simply stop being in my company."

Once more, Yaksha's voice was soft, pleasant and devoid of any malice or ill-will; he spoke in matter-of-fact terms, like someone who was describing their strained relationship with a person who wasn't even present, or talking about a trauma they'd experienced long ago, and made peace with. He looked down at Calypso, his expression almost fatherly as he crouched down, suddenly giving her a chance to stare into the eye holes of his masked face, and the eight rune-scribed horns there. He stared at her, shrugging ever so slightly.

"I'm sorry to disappoint, but I really am not that amazing. I'm just a person who got tired of everyone else telling him the way he was supposed to behave, or feel. I felt like carving out my own little niche, so that I could live my way. By most standards, I'd say I was pretty successful. Which is why I still cannot begin to fathom why Ulv won't stop trying to poke around in my head when I've made myself perfectly clear that I don't appreciate her hovering over me like she were my mother."

He rose once more, brushing a claw along his chest, and then meeting Ulv's gaze once more.

"I have everything that I need in this world. To call my dreams glorious, or to imply that I have some obligation to the world, is utter crap. Why should I feel any need to put myself through the wringer when people like you are around? Every time I've ever raised so much as a -finger-, you're there. And the one time I came to you and asked for help, you blew me off. So with all due respect, Ulv, stop babbling on about things you know nothing about, and stop peacocking before I leave to find somewhere in this world so desolate even you couldn't follow me. Perhaps I'll just jump in front of the Sweeper."
