Sixth Circle's Ghost

The leader of the Sixth Circle was already making her moves, and as one of its members, naturally Tsubaki was put into action. Usually her work was in Demon World as her powers were well suited towards countering demons and arresting--or otherwise dispatching--them. But now wasn't really the time to be containing soldiers to their singular duties, and with that in mind Tsubaki was sent to America to defend one of their locations--namely the western front of Texas. Saiko already put into place some defenses around the states that hadn't been occupied by the oncoming Gotei Forces, but the barriers were clearly outlined, and defenses wouldn't be left up solely to the barrier deployment; Shadow Fall would be certain to place personnel at the borders to face any oncoming threats.

The town that Tsubaki and her team was currently stationed at was wholly abandoned, like a ghost town evacuated by the inhabitants due to the threat of war. What an apt location, for the Sixth Circle's Ghost to be defending a ghost town. For the time being, there wasn't any forces to combat in sight--and Tsubaki's sight was genuinely top of the line. That said, the girl was dedicated and perservering; though no threats were observed, she never took her sights off the landscape around the town, keenly keeping her sniper at the ready to take out any sign of an invader.

So it has begun...the war between demons and all the other races across the spiritual and physical realm. Ritsuko wasn't surprised by this ordeal at all considering war throughout history would be sparked for various reasons such as rebuilding a once fallen empire within Nazi Germany to get revenge over those they deemed unworthy, political views such as the Civil war, and finally for trading purposes. Regardless she was sent to a mission upon the consideration of Vastime to investigate a rumored demon invasion within America's borders specifically Texas.

In preparation for entering America she wore the same outfit she wore when meeting Sofia regarding her quincy powers, also carried within her person two flintlock pistols, a grappling hook for gaining distance between her and the enemy, a small knife for close-quarter encounters, a rapier sword and lastly a satchel of explosives. The girl thought, because she had grown up in the violent streets of Russia she had seen everything. But nothing could prepare her for the life of a soldier, all the bloodshed, cries and screams of innocents, and even the sound of explosions piercing through her ear drums.. however she had to either die in combat or live with the guilt of what she had done.

Soon the girl had arrived in Texas and noticed right away that everything was quiet..almost too quiet
as she walked around she could feel a gust of dry wind through a maze of houses where windows have long shattered in the weakness of their structures and rotting boards, some broken, others hanging try to cover the empty eyes of every abandoned home. Doors hang on the few threads of their hinges and groan with pain at every sway. Weeds socialize across the cracking asphalt of every road, gathering and laughing at the lone pedestrian as they try to weave around the catching fingers with every step.

She remained vigilant though, carrying both of her pistols in both hands ready to blast whatever demon was in her way.

Sixth Circle's Ghost

Tsubaki had genuinely no clue how they got passed her team, but through the radio the ghost received information on a hostile spotted within the town. Considering her eyes could see basically anything without obstruction, it should've been basically impossible to get into the town without some form of discreet teleportation that wouldn't alert her team. That said, Tsubaki was the sort of person grounded in reality and more concerned with dealing with the present; rather than questioning how the enemy got passed her, she instead readjusted all her focus into dispatching them. Through the eyes of her team, Tsubaki acknowledged where the target was found and made her way towards their location, hopping along the top of the roofs with absolute silence.

The town wasn't especially large, but given this being the 25th century, the term "large" was relative here. By the time Tsubaki was able to lock her sights on her target on the streets between the various buildings and inspecting them, the distance between the two of them was some 400 metres. For most people, that was still a great deal of distance; for Tsubaki, that was well within lethal range. From the equipment bag on her hips and back, the girl excavated several parts to her rifle, constructing together the full-bodied firearm within the minute. Once finished, still soundlessly as ever, she took aim, a full bodied rifle fit with 7.62 rounds, and fired--soundlessly. The bullet tunneled through the air with barely any presence, the only indicator being the movements of the wind carved out of its path, its inevitable destination being the temple of the foreign target.

"Shi" Immediately the girl positioned herself to where the bullet wouldn’t aim for her temple but rather her shoulder,as a result the entry wound was dead centre to her shoulder heck she would call it perfection if she considered that sort of thing- professional shot, no doubt. It might be a devastating wound and cause infection but anything was better than a bullet straight to the head. Ritsuko should be lucky… able to even manage to not only see the bullet but dodge it just in time just by the skin of her teeth, though it was bad news either way considering she just got shot from god knows where. But she knew she couldn’t stay out here in the open where she’s the most vulnerable, She bolted down to a nearby house like an Olympic champion at the start gun, her arm clenched tightly in her hand.

Once inside she Now inside she noticed right away that the house wasn’t in the best of conditions, the abandoned house stands skeletal on the hill, a crumbled beauty of an era long past. Even its walls no longer keep it safe, no longer repel storms of rain or snow. Stripped of its splendour it was lumped under gravity, dying slowly, creaking slowly. Regardless she was safe...but for how long until the shooter was ready to fire again. Regardless she had to get a few things sorted out..firstly, the thing that came to her mind was where the shooter is hiding if at all and where exactly was that bullet fired? Second, what kind of sniper rifle was it? And lastly if she could manage to locate where the bullets are being fired she could locate the shooter and try to reason with her if possible…the only indication she managed to receive was its movement resisting against the wind.

Okay Ritsuko...think of a game plan here. Ritsuko quickly stood up to search around the house and noticed a small hand-held mirror on a table and grabbed it, perhaps she could use this to identify where the shots are coming from? Though the glare would give away her position it would give her a general idea of where the shooter is, but before she could do that she carefully picked out one of her small explosive bombs and carefully distrubted some of her spiritual energy into it causing it to glow gray. so carefully she peeked the tiny mirror outside making sure her hands weren’t visible for the shooter and waited. If she fired the mirror it would give her an approximate position and she would then throw the bomb a few feet away from her to create a medium sized cloud of smoke to hopefully conceal herself and would use a bit of stepping to head towards another building and hide out and pull out her flintlock rifle. Though it didn’t have a scope and the shots we're limited she figured that using her spiritual energy sparingly would be a good idea otherwise she’d have to resort to the old method of firing it.

Sixth Circle's Ghost

Tsk.

Tsubaki's clicked her tongue in thought only, genuinely dumbfounded in how her shot missed, but it was for the best that she wasn't too hung up on this fact. Just as the target slipped into a nearby building, the hybrid finished reloading her rifle, once more aiming for another shot. The girl's eyes were top of the line, any target at any distance could be discerned--but that was pretty much the extent of it. Tsubaki couldn't see through walls. Naturally she had no intention of moving from her advantageous position either; thus, the only compromise she'd manage was to wait for anything to give her an idea of where to shoot. And, lo n' behold, ask and thou shalt receive.

Two actions occurred that gave Tsubaki all the information she needed. First, a mirror peaked out, the glint giving away the target's position. Second, a usage of spiritual energy. Tsubaki wasn't the most precise with her spiritual senses, but it was more than enough to gain an idea of the person's location. Fortunately, light didn't impede the Shadow Fall operative's eyesight. She was able to make out the mirror in perfect detail, and by extension know full and well that it was a mirror--not the actual person. Only an idiot would take the bait and shoot at just whatever shined her way.

By using the mirror and rise of spiritual energy as reference points, Tsubaki worked out the positioning of the target. Though she couldn't be certain that this one would be a headshot, it was still better than nothing. Her loaded bullet fired off--again, without a sound, and obviously expecting that her target couldn't actually physically see the oncoming bullet, especially since it didn't actually fire off towards the mirror itself, and instead the positioning of the person. The structure of a broken house definitely wouldn't impede it from hitting, and more than that its lethality. Ideally, this one was a proper kill.

Despite the enemy having a gun that somehow has the ability to make bullets completely silent and not being able to hear where the shots were coming from she still wasn't about to give up, she took a second to gather her thoughts together and think of a plan..while she was able to get inside of the building safely she couldn't keep doing this forever after all if she even messes up a single step and fell she would be an easy target for the shooter.

Okay..time t- But before she could even finish she heard the sound of wood breaking as if it was firing by a bullet..looking down at she noticed that none of her vital organs were ruptured thankfully but her right hand began to bleed the dark red liquid from her body which almost made her want to scream, however she had to hold her cries of pain on the inside... Ritsuko wasn't able to see the bullet as it easily passed through the buildings protective barrier causing blood to be soaked into her sleeves, radiating outward. But she wasn't going to let this injury get in the way of what's most important and that's killing whoever this person is. Although normal flintlocks would be heavily limited to only be able to fire once per time before having to reload Ritsuko didn't had this problem as using her reiryoku she could and fire a maximum of 8 times before having to reload though prologue usage would ultimately reduce its power. However she didn't want to give the location of her bullets away so instead of doing that she would augment her senses to a certain extent so she can at least see the enemy.

Despite her injury she quickly used a bit of her energy to increase her viewing distance beyond what's normally capable for humans before peeking out from the window and returned fire aiming at the shooter with great precision. Although she could only get a glimpse of the target she was able to get a few shots at least one of them had to hit their mark, if the bullet managed to hit the target it would pierce through the skin expanding like a supersonic impact to the size of a quarter dollar, tearing through the gathering of flesh and tissue and on its way outward through wherever the bullet hit from.

Sixth Circle's Ghost

Given the return fire, Tsubaki could guess that her shot was a failure. Shortly after the shot was fired, the target peeked out and used what looked like an archaic flint-lock rifle, a couple shots zooming a safe distance away. At a glance, Tsubaki noticed the blood seeping from her target's hand; perhaps that was the reason for the inaccurate fire. It's difficult to shot accurately with a flint-lock to begin with, let alone at such a far distance, and even moreso with an injured hand. Unfortunately, the hybrid didn't have the time to respond. Tsubaki received orders to retreat from their position and return to command for a different operation. From here, the girl jumped off the rooftop and reconvened with her team before leaving the abandoned town.
