Stealth Squad Commander

~K~u~r~o~O~k~a~m~i~

Destruction and Devastation.

Across the cityscape of New Orleans, a great torrent emerged. It was as if there was a great tidal wave, rising greater and greater, surging and rising. From the outskirts of town, walking down the highway leading into the city… Each step pushing into the ground as the master of the shadowy force continued to approach. His whole body was heaving, his gaze staring down at the ground. Stepping in behind him was a great beast, like a wolf made of darkness, the size of a small building.

The Shadow Shinigami had come with an army. In lockstep behind him were a horde of Shinigami, each with their own Zanpakuto, with a single reason for being here. To overwhelm the southern coast and establish a base of operations for the Shinigami and allied forces to begin moving into America. With the research they had done, some of which had been carried out by the vanguard himself, they had determined that this would be the most advantageous place to strike. From the ocean, ships began to emerge, pressing nearer and nearer to the city limits.

The assault from the land appeared to be the bigger threat of the two. After all, the tidal wave of shadowy substance was growing super-massive in size, its controller shuddering and shaking. The great beast behind him began darting and dashing among the collected Shinigami, watching, observing.

Waiting.

Every fiber of Kuro's being was strained. Shadow was pouring and dumping from him, and his concentration took on the greater and greater burden of that much energy. This… This… Determination alone kept his feet trudging along, the bulky armor he wore clanking and thudding against the ground with each step. At last, he stopped at the foot of what was once State Route 610, cutting straight through the city. Both hands gripped out, the tidal wave shaking and quivering behind his body.

Kuro's entire body then proceeded to shudder forwards, lunging out as the massive wave exploded out from his body. The raining torrent soared over his men, pushing itself much further onwards as it moved into the city skyline. Individually, the different parts of the attack were not that overwhelming, or even that dangerous.

However, all of the bombs that Kuro's Stealth Squad had placed strategically around those buildings would be a lot more noticeable.

The spiritual defenses around the city were crumbling as explosions went off through the dim evening light. The defenses held for a moment, pushing back the Shadow Shinigami's wave of destruction. But they could not hold; and at last, they crumpled from the effort. Parts and shards of the attack were stopped, but the most important part remained, crashing into the buildings of the skyline.

The domino effect was rapid and unforgiving. Massive explosions rent through the air, the shadowy wave absorbing a good amount of the eardrum-splitting decibels from damaging the approaching forces.

Tumultuous explosion after explosion rent the sky as buildings toppled, taking some with them, and every once in a while, a building being blown away from the impact due to yet more explosives being triggered. Evacuation proceedings were already underway inside of the city, increasing the mounting chaos as the shadowy attack crushed into whoever remained on the ground, the debris causing an overall negative effect on the populace of New Orleans.

…The nature of war… The Shinigami was trying to straighten himself, the great beast that stayed with him nudging against his shoulder with its big head. "Thank… you… Kuroi no Inu…" He told the wolf, focusing hard as his Shikokai began to shift and change, the helmet forming around his eyes, devoid of light. Screams and explosions, the sound of growing flames, chaos and suffering.

Each of them went into the Shadow Shinigami's ears as he stood there, taking them in, accepting them. He was not personally responsible for this set of affairs… but he took responsibility for leading them. That's right… what we do… we maim, we harm, we kill. We avenge… and we ascertain. We are the Shinigami. We are the forces that go against chaos that prevents people from living in peace. We fight the Demons, the soulless Hollows, and those who have surrendered away their souls.

With those thoughts in his heart, the Knight of the Abyss leaped forward, leading in the invading force directly into the devastation, searching out those who could endure it, who would try to stop the destruction Kuro had planned for this place…

Crashing Darkness.

Resources were required to conduct a good search for his sister. So, for now, it seemed he would take work where he could find it. Even if it meant crossing swords against former colleagues. Tsubasa's eyes looked at the shadow wave Kuro had sent out observing it. He released a massive torrent of electricity slamming into the attack as he straightened himself up. His body crackled with energy as he sighed softly. This wasn't exactly how he planned for things to go out. But Mana offered him a nice pay through her friendly channels. Did he agree with her politics or the state of things? What happened next if someone blinked they would have missed. Tsubasa's form flickered past the men who were with Kuro. Slowly they began falling to the ground as he'd seemed to use that speed. Tsubasa was known for godlike speed and quickness. His crimson orbs slowly focused in on Kuro as he rested his zanpakuto on his shoulder. His presence alone was something to shock those who'd come in. Tsubasa had arrived here quickly and suppressed his spiritual pressure. Till the moment he unleashed the torrent anyways. War had an element he doubted Kuro knew of. Mercenaries and sometimes the past bites us. When Ibiki banished Tsubasa this possibility became more possible. But he wouldn't be childish and blame her as his reason for being here was simple. Mana hired him with enough resources to locate his sister. The Yuudeshi, Gotei, and most of those who called themselves justice figures. Offered no such bargain or deal for him. So this was how he went about it. Though upon closer inspection he'd not killed them. Leaving them with light injuries in his movements as he glanced at Kuro. Deciding to let them recognize who they would be fighting. Tsubasa sighed as he could see their expressions asked a very simple question. Why did he go to these lengths to further himself from the Gotei? Tsubasa rubbed a hand through his hair and decided to make his point very clear. His reiatsu had lost some of its blusters and this simply was a matter of resources.

"Before you ask, I was hired to stop you in this location. Mana sent me enough to locate my sister. When I was a boy I thought for sure I'd killed her. After finding out she was alive, I looked for work. Gotei didn't offer jobs nor did the other factions or groups. Mana came calling though and now I get to find my sister after this. " He said calmly as his gaze held a determination to it. Tsubasa's mind was no longer about the Gotei or the organizations. He didn't give a damn about them. Shadow's Fall could lose the war for all he cared. His sister was the most important thing in this world. He would find her regardless of what came about. This place could damn him and condemn him for all he cared. Honor hadn't saved his sister or showed him a way to her. This world was a place where resources provided help. His sister was no different from him, had she encountered this situation. She'd of made this choice a long time ago.

Tsubasa held loyalty to those around him and even still. The only reason he didn't kill a single man of the group he hit. The discharge wasn't enough to be fatal either. He kept the voltage in a stunning range. Tsubasa's heart did find some conflict in this, but Tsubaki deserved so much more. If his name need be dragged through the mud further so be it. He'd given up everything else already long ago. Why should he care about this world or people in anymore? It was about time for him to come to stand here. Tsubasa cracked his neck as he prepared himself to fight. "I'll give you one chance, withdraw or send your men back Kuro. I can't promise their safety should they proceed." He said softly as Tsubasa made it clear. Some guilty existed here since he did give Kuro his scar. Tsubasa had been in a bad place then. Destroying the home and leaving the Gotei forever. But now things were clear and his objective was plain to see. He needed to find and locate Tsubaki Unabara the long lost sister.

The treasure that they thought long dead and extinguished from this world. They would need to find her. Pest and Tsunashi would have made the same choice without batting an eye. Tsunashi though hadn't been like Pest and Tsubasa had. Tsubaki had been the world for those boys. She represented the light and Tsubasa accidentally killing her. Left a gaping hole where that light once resided. But nothing about him showed uncertainty, Tsubasa's mind was clear. There was one way Kuro could get him to leave. That was to offer him greater resources than the Royal Treasury that Mana offered. The choice was up to Kuro but this wasn't a man who'd simply let them pass. Tsubasa's body crackled further as he got ready to fight now. Tsubasa's method of combat had evolved into something otherworldly now. He'd be showing his speed to the man Kuro before him. This would come about without fail for him. Kuro was facing Tsubasa now in a confrontation. This had nothing to do with Gotei or Shadow's Fall to him. Only with finding Tsubaki and Kuro was an obstacle in his way.

HENREX ASTILLON
ブラックキング
The Darkness Over New Orleans[WW4 Start Event] 6EdIfMt

Song: Battle! Lorekeeper Zinnia! - Artist: Pokemon OR/AS

Chaos, destruction, and death.

The day that he despised and hoped never would come, had. So, with a heavy sigh, Henrex stepped into the field of chaos that America had become. Drawing Yume no Jitsugen, a gift from a very...questionable source, Henrex turned the weapon to its 'brush mode', and preemptively began to draw various characters all over his body, writing out the words for "Zangerin" on his arms, legs, and back, while having a single inscription of the word "Tenran" on his chest, all with blue ink.

Hadō #78, and Hadō #58, respectively. Preparing himself for the conflict to come, the man's hand rested on his sword as he stepped through the rubble of the various toppled buildings. Admittedly a bit far behind Kuro, he began to pick up the pace, soon rocketing off at Mach speeds, using his control over the air in order to push away whatever was in his way, living or non-living. Drawing closer and closer to the familiar signature of his co-Captain, Henrex pressed onward.

Sliding to a stop next to his fellow commander, a soft smile passed over his face. For the first time, the man that had helped him reach where he was now, he was his equal, and for the first time -- they would fight side-by-side. Drawing his Zanpakuto and holding Yume no Jitsugen in his other hand, Henrex readied himself for what was to come.

The steps that he heard and the voice that came after made the Captain grimace. Turning toward the sound, Henrex stared at the golden-haired man now standing before him. Leaving his stance open, Henrex remained silent as Tsubasa declared his reasoning for standing in front of them today. The sky began to dim as thunder roared in the sky, clouds gathering and rain beginning to fall.

If he were being honest? He was disappointed.

To think that someone that used to be the Head Captain of the Gotei would stoop so low, all for the sake of searching for a family member. Looking over the area around them, Henrex knew that with Tsubasa in the way, they wouldn't be able to get far. So, tapping into the Aether Stone that Cirno crafted and bestowed to him, Henrex spread the influence of Cassiel's Confinement to the Gotei soldiers around him.

Through this, he granted them the brief ability to, in essence, phase through physical matter, rendering their bodies invisible and giving them an opportunity to get away from Tsubasa and continue their objective. So, turning back to Tsubasa, Henrex finally spoke:

"I'm giving you one chance, Tsubasa. Leave now, and you will not be harmed."

Stealth Squad Commander

~K~u~r~o~O~k~a~m~i~

…Bad. That was the single word that took up Kuro's mind as he witnessed the electric current wave smashing into his attack. Well, it doesn't matter much. Kuro's hands twisted, the shadow shifting and merging as it tiled and twisted. Blood began drooling out of his mouth and drifting out of his ears as he forced the massive wave into very specific weapons, crashing through the web of electricity, spearing through it and heading directly for the buildings he had originally been targeting. Many of them failed; but with that much prep, all of them could not be stopped with a web made that quickly.

So it was that a couple made it through, ramming into their targets and setting off the chain reaction that Kuro had planned throughout the city. …Annoying. Kuro's eyes, in this state, could keep up with the movement, but his awareness of Tsubasa's shadow certainly helped. Tsubasa's blade came crashing down on his men, and in that moment, he would feel the weakest thing smashing against him. Kuro could not stop his attack, getting knocked back as he slammed into his big wolf. He was too strained from using that attack, not having the ability to handle everything so soon afterwards when it came to dealing with a man like the one in front of him.

Don't… You… dare…

In front of Tsubasa… he could feel the killing urge growing from Kuro's body. Whereas typically, it was very sharply focused, cold, heartless… this was like a wild animal, growing larger… and larger… Kuro's helmet was not on yet, and Tsubasa could very clearly make out the scowl on his face. That dark red light shining in the man's left eye. Tsubasa had left his men alone, preferring to only knock them out. To Kuro, this was irrelevant. The moment it seemed Tsubasa was not after them… they appeared to completely leave his head. He now had only eyes for this man, for the one who had betrayed them… the one who had given him this scar that had been stricken along the front of his chest.

"…." He was completely silent as Tsubasa tried talking to him, his shoulders slouching as his left arm went completely limp. "…So now… you just… work… for that scum…………..?" Those were the only words that came out of Kuro's mouth as he looked at Tsubasa, his breaths coming in hard and slow. His body physically raised and lower with each breath in, and out… in, and out…

"…Yeah… anyone that wants to leave me here with his life and honor intact, get out. I don't care… I don't care, either way…!" Kuro's voice contained… actual emotion. The men that Tsubasa had knocked down were among his own division, soldiers he had trained. Among their ranks… certain ones joined the other divisions, moving forwards in their invasion of the city. Six or seven, though, stood with their captain, passion and frustration in their eyes. "This is war, Tsubasa… I came… here… to… You… YOU KNOW WHY!" Kuro's voice.. .raised, accusing, hateful.

Those were the words that Henrex would enter in, seeing his captain standing there, breathing hard next to his Zanpakuto spirit.

Kuro's focus changed… it was hard. The killing intent he was emitting diminished slightly as he turned his head, coming to the realization that Henrex was there. The killing intent dulled further as he recognized his friend, his torso straightening itself up once again.

"…Henrex."

That name left his lips, and the hatefulness was gone. It was clearly difficult for Kuro to maintain his two mentalities; the hatred he had towards the golden haired man, and the friendship and companionship he felt towards the black haired one.

Henrex granted the Stealth Division soldiers his special camouflage. Almost immediately after, their shadows slid up each one of their legs… lightly gripping them. The signal to scatter and regroup. So they did, leaving their two captains alone with the traitorous Shinigami. Kuro's face turned away from his friend… turning back to Tsubasa once again as he took a step forwards.

Around the area, the light… dimmed. The evening sun seemed to darken, the shadows around their bodies lengthening. Around Kuro's body, the darkness was enveloping his body, the killing intent he gave off like an ocean pouring off in waves off of him. "…One… Single… Chance… To admit… You're wrong… And get out of my way… Out of the Seireitei's way… To show… THAT ZANPAKUTO SPIRIT YOU CARRY AROUND SHOULDN'T SLIT YOUR... throat... IN… DISGRACE…!" Kuro's teeth were gripped hard into his mouth. The blood had dried on the sides of his face. He breathed hard, so hard, in, out... his heart beating in his chest, a dark clock ticking, ticking towards the destruction of New Orleans…

Crashing Darkness.

Quiet came over the field as something began to come from him. They both held something they called a murderous aura. But Tsubasa had a presence that had once upon a time made people tremble. Threats were it, they believed in some manner they were allowed to take away from him? Seireitei such a joke that was as he had been given exile. [darkred]"Oh, is that right."[/color] The air became cold as it wasn't a question more of a simple statement to both Kuro and Henrex. They had crossed the point of no return. Tsubasa's crimson eyes lost that point of argument. He looked at Kuro now as he had finished talking with them. The air they would feel coming from him held darkness. Something hungry for destruction and conflict to call it a two on one wasn't a good terminology. No, they were here with someone who didn't care about human casualties or theirs. "Disgrace, funny hearing Seireitei dogs bring that much...Too bad dogs die to tigers." He said in a moment as a massive thing came out. Tsubasa had stepped and used his flash step sending a massive amount of force. As both hands came down on Kuro's position creative a concussive shockwave outwards as he aimed to send the male staggering backward. Kuro had gained some anger from the male as he'd made that comment. The Seireitei was a joke, they were willing to use a person up to their ends. Using them and spitting them out like a worthless parasite. It didn't matter anymore really as he calculated the next moves. He could adjust his strike while in Tiger Flash Hammer as he exhaled releasing a discharge of energy around him. If Kuro wasn't careful his previous scar would gain a new friend. Something had changed about Tsubasa's Hoho skills making him a top dog in that field. Though these two were acceptable in that sense. Tsubasa didn't smile he held a coldness in his eyes and expression. He had a hunch Henrex would act next in this regard. Though Kuro couldn't be underestimated either with his shadow powers.

It would be a tiring day at the office and he suspected Shikai would be a wise idea going forward. But for now, it was going to be interesting to see how they handled his raw experience. Captain Commander had nothing to do with power or strength. Though they were part of some criteria they weren't part of the main part. Something else you had to have in order to do it. Focusing in on their breathing and bodies he could sense many things. But this so-called agents of the Stealth Force would be amusing. Tsubasa would be there for a moment and gone again. This time Henrex was at the end of an attack and it didn't have a delay for them. It was under seconds that Tsubasa had moved and struck this time at Henrex's back. With a cut that would go from left shoulder to right hip. Afterward, he turned his attention to the troops now and within seconds Tsubasa vanished again. Before appearing at his starting position. Tsubasa had assaulted their forces this time without kindness. Blood dripped from his sword as he'd struck multiple people within moments. Unless Henrex or Kuro had managed to stop him.

He'd cut many many Seiretei people as he spoke now. Game time had come to an end and it was about time he took them both seriously. They were both Captains after all and it wouldn't do for them to not see it. Tsubasa's breath was soft as he spoke here. His muscles and breathing felt right as he focused on what he had. He had medicine to recover his injuries among other things. Rapid Regeneration Medicine based on Mayuri's specifications would work wonders here. " Feast Byakko." He said softly as a massive blast of electricity surged through the area. His body cracking as little seemed to change around him. But he knew Henrex and Kuro knew better than that. Though they'd not seen Byakko's evolution yet either. Both were only familiar with how his zanpakuto worked previously. So in terms of unknowns, it fell into his favor. Tsubasa, however, did have information on both of them and could play this game for a while.

Truthfully keeping both of them there was a fine thing. As Mana was rather busy in Karakura Town at the moment. Tsubasa's flash step was something that was legendary among the Gotei. He was respected though some could ask what his motivation was for this. Tsubasa held a grudge against the Gotei for the years he spent helping them. For the blood, he spilled and shed on their behalf for exile when seeking peace between Monsuta and Gotei. That rubbed him wrong so he owed them and their damned laws nothing. He had given them everything he had and fought Khala alone at that gate. Kuro and he were merely cogs in the system and that was it. "I'm going to borrow the quote of someone I respect very much. The Crows call for their Dinner, The Sacrifice is not the Winner, But No Matter What is Demanded, Until I Get Caught Red Handed." He said out loud showing something few would understand. But one person would that he remembered that moment clearly.

So He Gives His Life." He said softly understanding now what Iriko meant. Seeing the problem as a whole and understanding why he tried so hard."His Will Like a Knife" He said softly as he discharged energy prepared to continue from memory while fighting. As he doubted either of them knew who he was quoting or why. For the Sake of Death" He said prepared to fend them off in what onslaught they brought forward to him. "He Draws His Final Breath" Tsubasa didn't have the creativity of someone like Iriko to do that. He wasn't inventive in that sense. But he understood what Iriko wanted him too now or at least what he thought it was. This animal called war never would end, an infinite cycle of hatred and war. Tsubasa had been a cog in this agreeing to fight for Mana for his sister. But at this junction that wasn't really the only reason he took this fight. He needed to make sure Iriko's will made it into the new generation by any means needed. "For One Single Blow?" He ended as he would be doing this for most of this fight. Quoting words he heard Iriko speak during their time against Khala, no against wasn't right. It wasn't a battle as much as a confrontation of ideas and beliefs.
