I. Basic Information» Name:
The Mad Hatter» Age:
Unknown, appears to be in the mid twenties.» Gender:
Shadow Fall; Grand Duke of the 4th Circle.» Shifter Appearance Picture:
» True Appearance Written:
Masakaki's true appearance is that of an odd looking male whom stands at a height of six foot two inches. The male has eerily white skin, almost to the point of being albino white. Which in addition too his odd purple-pink hair and golden eyes, does quite well to stand out. Overall the males build appears to be that of a taller, lankier person whom would possess smaller but denser muscle mass.
Masakaki can generally be seen wearing a black top hat, which appears to have golden 'M's as a part of the fabric. In addition to the hat Masakaki tends to wear more dressy, business suited, or formal clothing which makes him look like an unique salesmen of sorts. Generally though the male wears a black suit, blue shirts, pinks socks and scarf, and a pair of long pointed black shoes. Oh and don't forget his white gloves, nor his cane which is topped with a depiction of King Midas.
As for Masakaki's demonic energy, its primary appearance resembles that of a nebula in space. The mass of whites, golds, pinks, and purples seem to create a gassy, cloud-like look, almost identical to some amazingly beautiful nebula. Overall the demonic energy appears much more beautiful and wondrous rather than deadly. Upon becoming influenced by Madness, whether it be his own, his abilities, or another beings, Masakaki's demonic energy takes on a whole different appearance. Once the influence has begun the demonic energies of Masakaki begin to create odd patterns within itself, in addition to the darkening of most, if not all colors that make it up. Additionally this is when Masakaki's demonic energy 'awakens' so to speak, signified by the mass amount of eyes that seem to open within the demonic energy of this demon. An example of this, while not the same, would be Kishin Asura from Soul Eater and his own Madness aura. Aside from that brief example here is another reference: Link

I. Personality Traits» Cheerful:
Masakaki seems to always have some sort of smile upon his face. Such a thing is quite eerie, as is the way that the Demon seems to always be cheerful, playful, or happy in some sense. It's actually not that often you see Masakaki being something that isn't some variant of cheerful, joyful, etc. The Demon seems to always be invading others space, popping up unexpectedly quite frequently, and always in the same joyful manner. The Demon also enjoys his fair share of pranks.» Greedy:
Whether it comes to money, or actual possessions Masakaki is extensively greedy. The demon loves money, whether it has to do with possessing it, controlling it, or anything of the sort. If it has to do with money Masakaki will find a way to be involved. The same could be said when it comes to possessions. Whether its a vehicle, a house of sorts, or really anything unique, fancy, and expense, the Demon will likely posses it, or have possessed it at some point. An example of this would be his collection of cars which ranges from older models of Corvettes, Mustangs, Porches, to the newest models. » Protective:
When it comes to something that is his, or someone who has managed to worm their way close, Masakaki is extremely protective. Generally when something he feels protective of is targeted by something that period of time is one of those periods where the cheerful Masakaki completely vanishes. Instead in his place is a Masakaki whom has become irritated, angered, and more vulnerable too his madness. This is a side of Masakaki that can actually be quite fearsome to face. » Utterly Insane:
Although it can't be seen initially, unless looking deep into the golden eyes of Masakaki, the Demon is completely and utterly insane. This insanity is due to the constant contact with his own abilities, in addition to the drawbacks of utilizing them against a foe. Initially it had started small, growing more and more with every instance his abilities were used. Rage, knowledge, power, order, fear... All these aspects of madness dwell somewhere within Masakaki's psych, and each of them slowly effect him more and more, even those he has yet to begin tapping into ability wise. To truly understand the depths of Masakaki's madness one would need to pull said madness out, as Masakaki represses it as much as possible in order to continue functioning normally. One day though the building madness that eats away at his psych will take over completely.
I. Character History✦Appearance of the Mad Hatter✦
Masakaki the Mad Hatter. A being whom no one knows of how long ago he came into existence, nor how he appeared in the world. Due to this many had assumed that the Demon whom suddenly arrived was linked to Deveta somehow. Whether or not they were correct has never been found out. All that is known for sure is that the Mad Hatter was most definitely a Demon, and he was now roaming the world. Since his appearance in the world the Mad Hatter has begun the journey to master his skills, and gain all knowledge he possibly can.
This craving for knowledge is what has led up to the Hatter pushing himself as hard as he has at this point in time. Always training, always learning, the Hatter has been living day by day finding ways to gain more power, more knowledge, and further his own abilities he already possesses. ✦Witness the Hatters Madness✦
The endless training, the pursuit of knowledge in every waking moment. This was only but a fraction of the madness within Masakaki the Mad Hatter. And it was only growing stronger. Everytime the Demon learnt something new, or furthered his own abilities, he pushed himself harder. Which resulted in pushing himself further into his own madness. Eventually the male realized such a thing was happening and from there decided to train his mental fortitude, and his will power. The Demon would not allow his madness to overcome him. He would prevail, he would master Za Koa, Demon Magic, himself, and his own abilities. And though he knew not, this was what began his current path to becoming madness itself. To this day the madness of Power, Knowledge, and Fear are what constantly push the Demon... And even with his understanding of himself, his madness, Demon Magic, and Za Koa, the unfortunate Demon has yet to realize what truly was the force behind his goals, his dreams, his ambitions.. His insanity.
Despite all his mental training the Demon had spent a vast period of time, in which he vanished from the word, in insanity. It took immense amounts of time, seasons changed, ages moved by, and even the land itself changed. Eventually Masakaki emerged from his solitude and insanity as a better being. The Demon had spent his time in solitude not only fighting his insanity, but also further mastering himself, his abilities, and the Demonic ways. Such as Za Koa's Influence, something that the Demon always had spread out while secluded, always aware, never resting. Over this period the Demon honed his skills, brought forth new ones, and continued to further himself. The Demon could, with pride, state that he was entering the realms of the Masters of Za Koa, Demon Magic, and themselves. In addition to this the demon could now state that he was heavily proficient with weaponry, such that he can utilize his own cane as well as any blade. Finally he honed his speed.. Knowledge, Magic, power.. it was all useless if one was too slow and died before they could do anything.
I. Equipment» Equipment:
(If your character has any equipment, then you should put it in this section. Otherwise, if they don't, do not fill in this section and you can leave it blank.)
I. Natural Abilities & Skills
✦ The Natural Abilities, Skills, and Traits ✦» "Don't Blink" Speed:
To put it bluntly Masakaki's speed is absolutely ridiculous. The Demon's physical speed is his greatest quality outside of his unique abilities, having built it up extensively due too his fascination with his own abilities, Za Koa, and Demon Magic. After-all what use is a magic and energy based specialist when they lack the speed to move about the battlefield as well as staying out of harms way in a fight. If one were to try and compare Masakaki's speed too that of a car such a comparison wouldn't even be fair. Why? Because Masakaki is faster. Such is this beings speed that it's likely only higher tiered foes can keep track of him, and even then it may be tough for them. The closest description possible for Masakaki's speed is teleportation due to the fact that his speed does not break the sound barrier and thus hasn't reached Mach speed.. Yet his speed is not teleportation, it's all natural, all him. As such if one blinks when facing Masakaki they may very well miss even seeing the Demon launch an attack. » Decent Weapon Skills:
Given his choice of what appears to be a cane most would think this Demon possesses little or no weapon skills. Unfortunately for such believers they would be horribly wrong. Despite his specialty not being in the field of weaponry the Demon did not allow that to prevent his obtainment of high level skills. A brief example of his skills would be the ability to slice clean through a building with his cane, without damaging it, nor reinforcing it with any energies. The Demon's skill has even reached a point in which he is capable of wielding anything, as any type of weapon he has knowledge of. An example of this would be his finding a steel pipe upon the ground and wielding it just as well as he would his cane, or an actual blade. Or how about slicing through the foundation of a bridge with nothing but a mop and some reinforcement via demonic energy. At the end it all boils down to one thing. Masakaki has enough skill within the field of weaponry the he could ward off even elite of the field with nothing but his cane, albeit the elite would eventually win the fight.» Above Average Durability:
While he doesn't possess the best durability the Demon does still have a better than average ability to take hits, and even take said hits with somewhat less injury than expected. Unfortunately Masakaki's durability doesn't go much farther than being able to survive going through a few buildings, survive, and depending on the strength of his foe get back into the fight, or lay there in the rubble. » Average Strength:
Due to favoring other skills over his physical skills Masakaki's strength is somewhat lacking. While not dreadfully strong, like obliterate a building in a punch strong, the Demon does still posses significant strength thanks to his vast use of various weapons, in addition to any natural strength. Putting it sweet and short Masakaki is capable of putting a hole in a steel reinforced wall when focusing more on strength rather than technique or speed.
✦ The Racial Abilities, Skills, and Traits ✦» Za Koa Core:
A demon with an adept in Za Koa Core can utilize their connection to this cluster of sacred demon energy to add an additional 0.8 times augmentation to any of their abilities, powers, skills or forms. (I.E. if they have a release form that increases their strength 1.3 times from its base, it can be boosted to 2.1 times with Za Koa Core) However, it can only be focused on THREE things at a time and will only last for a duration of four posts. Only being able to be used four times per thread with a three post cooldown. It is recommended a demon sticks to one or two things to augment, however, as going beyond that will require a lot more focus and strain their bodies more in combat.» Possessive Augment:
» Possessive Influence:
- Possessive Shifting - Minor: Once a demon is able to reach an Advanced Level of Possessive Shifting, they will then be able to further cultivate their power with their body manipulation. It's at this point that they can begin shifting around organs in their body to try and have opponents miss their vital points, they can regenerate entire limbs more easily and even reform organs with enough time/energy. Additionally, they'll be able to perform more profound changes to their body. An illustration of a body morph at this level would be that users of advanced possessive shifting could temporarily transform themselves into fire for a duration of a post or two, shapeshift their body into stone, generate multiple knives from their fingertips and so on and so forth.
- Possessive Movement - Major: When a demon is able to attain the level of Elite Possessive Movement, these burst of movement in their speed becomes even more daunting to deal with. They are now able to increase their natural movement by 3.5 times their natural speed. And this also applies to all of their abilities that rely on energy as they will often tire out far less quickly when it comes to spamming attacks than other demons of their caliber.
Advanced Possessive Influence: At this point, the demon in question will have a greater control of Possessive Influence. Which means that the area of effect that this racial skill have will then be scaled on tier. So, depending on how much energy the user has in their body, this area of effect they can execute their in-depth analysis of the area to look for the general health/energy of multiple people in this region, concealed seals/barriers, abnormalities in the air and so on.
Additionally, within this field of influence, they will often be able to target three objects or another factor in the environment around them to try and drain. These will often be related to other types of attacks, people or objects in the area that are powered by some kind of energy. » Demon Magic[Possessive Magic]:
I. Possesisve Powers
✦ The Aura of Madness ✦
The Aura of Madness is an ability of Masakaki's that granted him both power and a curse. Firstly the curse, which was madness itself and an intimate understanding of the five aspects. Secondly was the power itself. Masakaki now possessed the ability to project his madness beyond his being thus allowing him to affect, or infect others with it. Eventually the ability grew to the strength that Masakaki was able to begin manipulating the Aspects of Madness, though he's yet to fully tap into them. In addition to manipulation the aspects Masakaki had also become able to physically manifest his madness in forms such as barriers around him, or energy like blast, or even created a temporary physical weapon that would infect the foe when a wound was inflicted. Finally due to this ability Masakaki is capable of becoming more powerful in the presence of others whom have delved into the depths of madness, though when this occurs the Aspects tend to affect the Demon more than usual.
✦ The Aspects of Madness ✦
Aspects of Madness is an ability that allows Masakaki to affect the different views on how a person is driven insane. This ability while possessing potential for extreme power over a beings psych is also quite dangerous for Masakaki himself. This is because every time Masakaki delves into one of the aspects he himself is also affected by said aspect, just not to the same extent as his foe. An example of this would be fear, lets say he inflicted a foe with enough fear to induce a heart attack. Masakaki himself would also feel an amount of said fear, though it may only be enough to make him twitchy, jumpy, or even a bit panicky. While the effects aren't always immediately obvious they will eventually have a heavy impact upon Masakaki's own psych, beyond the damage they have already done, if he does not further harden his will and mental fortitude. It should be noted that some aspects may affect a foe better than another might, while all aspects impact Masakaki equally. » The Aspect of Despair:
Despair.. One of the Aspects that Masakaki truly prefers to use as little as possible due to its effects upon a person, and himself. For what is despair but the complete loss of hope? The loss of a reason to live? And without hope one can only spiral into a deep vicious cycle of depression, uselessness, and a general loss of the will to live. Through this particular aspect Masakaki, if applied deeply enough, could drive one to such states as being catatonic or becoming suicidal. For those whom do not find themselves in such a state Masakaki feels a worse fate befalls them, for they've fallen to the point where they can no longer stand themselves, finally breaking mentally and delving into the depths of insanity. As for why Masakaki despises this particular aspect? The feeling of hopelessness washing over him is absolutely revolting to the demon, plain and simple.» The Aspect of Fear:
Utilizing the Aspect of Fear Masakaki essentially becomes Fear itself. When used the Demon is capable of bringing ones worst fears to life before them by utilizing the aspect in combination with his demonic energies. Such is the intensity of the illusion wrought by Masakaki that very few ever realize their trapped in an illusion, let alone manage to escape it. The requirements for such would be a greater mental deduction, focus, and willpower. Or simply being someone whom has enough spiritual energy to simply shatter the illusion(an example being Masakaki @ 2-3 vs a 1-4-). In addition to bringing ones fears too life Masakaki can also cause someones fear of something to grow stronger while under the effects of this aspect. Essentially this aspect is about defeating someone by creating their worse fears, manipulating current fears, creating new ones, etc. Fighting such an ability is all about ones willpower, determination, and their ability to deduce reality from illusion.» The Aspect of Loneliness:
Loneliness is such a thing that even the heartiest of beings can fall prey to its fangs. Just imagine.. A life with no one, absolutely no one. To confide in. To laugh with. To cry alongside. To share in moments of joy. To make it through moments of pain together. No one to love. The lack of such things can break anyone after enough time. When utilized upon a foe the Aspect of Loneliness first draws on those associated fears, bringing them to the surface of the heart and mind. Even in battle the feeling of being alone can affect one, dull their hopes, slow their mind and reactions. The question is how does the aspect, aside from the actual feeling of loneliness, affect the foe? Simple. Deep illusions based in the depths of ones mind, allowing the very fears of the one affected to shape their lonesome illusion. Some may see only darkness for however long it feels to them, others may find themselves alone in an aged room, on a cliff, in a tomb, library. The mind is what makes the torture. » The Aspect of Rage:
The Aspect of Rage is all about just that. Rage. Utilizing this Aspect allows Masakaki to not only tap into existing rage, but also create a 'seed' of rage within a being. Similar to the Aspect of Fear this Aspect also requires the combined use of Masakaki's demonic energy. From there Masakaki is able to do as much as either subtly, or suddenly affecting those who hold rage/anger/hatred within them. Simply put Masakaki is able to heighten someones anger, which could then cause them to become a mindless berserker. By manipulating the feelings of rage within someone Masakaki is able to cause said rage to become stronger, weaken, last longer, and even cause some physical enhancements due to immense levels of adrenaline rushing through the body.
An example of how this abilities works would be as follows: A group of Hollow have fallen to the influence of Masakaki's Aspect of Rage. From there Masakaki is able to either plant seeds of rage, or cause existing rage to grow. Upon doing so, depending on how much the rage is increased, it is possible for Masakaki to essentially turn his foes against each other; essentially turning them into rage controlled beasts.
In order to fight off the Aspect of Rage the requirements are similar to the Aspect of Fear. A greater Willpower, determination, and mental deduction will allow those of greater mind to fight off this ability. Additionally those with greater spiritual energies can flood their system, and potentially halt the effects of this ability. Aside from this those who feel no anger, hatred, or rage of any sort can be found to be immune to this ability: Though this means they must have absolutely no trace of rage within them.
Beyond these capabilities Masakaki is also able to enhance his own capabilities with this Aspect. The downside of doing so though is that Masakaki becomes more vulnerable to his own Madness & its aspects. This is before considering the drawback of forcing his muscles to expand and strengthen beyond their normal limits. Essentially this aspect is capable of granting Masakaki immense strength in return for deteriorating his mental capabilities, and the injuries suffered from forcibly expanding his muscle mass.
✦ The Gaze of Insanity ✦
The way in which Gaze of Insanity works is that if Masakaki were to utilize this and capture someones gaze directly with his golden eyes(which will have obtained an ethereal gold/pink glow) he is able to then cause them to descend into an illusion that focuses solely on them. Said illusion is simply a world of endless eyes, Masakaki's own eyes to be exact. From there the foe will slowly be immersed in the varying aspects of Madness, slowly causing a deterioration of their mind, and sometimes death. In order for this ability to take hold the following conditions must be met: The foe must hold Masakaki's gaze for more than a few seconds. The foe must also have a weaker willpower, focus, and mental deduction than Masakaki. Finally this will not work on a foe who hasn't been worn out in battle. I.e if Masakai were to use this on a fresh opponent it will not work, and may even backlash upon him.
