Ahhh.. Nothing beats nature when it comes to finding a place to just hang out and relax.

With the recent events occurring especially the war which is the most concerning thing that's happening, Touma had an idea that just temporarily detach himself from Karakura City and into the forest where the amount of people in it are almost slim to none and in an afternoon like this where the worst luck he could even get would just be bird shit falling on his head.. or so he thought.

For some unknown coincidence, a branch happened to drop hard on his head, snapped by a bird who was just standing on top of it not too long ago. His expression immediately changed to despair afterwards, kneeling down against the floor and wondered if there is even a safe place from his constant misfortune. He had went to the shrine, bought good luck charms, keeping a positive outlook that his luck would change but it was all a futile attempt.

After all, his right hand is the one causing all of this bad luck.

"AHHHHH! I thought nothing can harm me here but why is this happening to me even with no one around!?"

He shouted in an almost childish demeanor, talking to himself and cursing the extent of his own luck. To one, it is just a simple branch falling on his head but to Touma, it was already spelling doom from the start.

He really wants to believe that Mother Nature is smiling upon him.

Time flowed so oddly in the outside world for someone who had existed in a state of temporal isolation for so long, but Zunza, well Zunza was getting used to it he supposed. Marching slowly through what some would view as a forest, but to Zunza seemed closer in bio diversity to a glen, or a glade, Zunza had been writing his memoirs, mostly letters addressed to his beloved Anna. It had been quite a few months in this realm since he had last seen her, and the pain of having to leave her behind still strung true through his heart at this very moment. The worst part was that he had feelings that he had yet to tell her about, love that he had yet to express in the way that a man does to a woman, but now, now he may very well never get the chance to do so. He supposed by getting himself banished into exile for disposing of the king, a lie that he had told to insure his beloved's safety, that he had saved her life from torment at the hands of those who would look for someone to focus their anger on. So maybe some part of him hoped that perhaps she had noticed his one act of compassion and had seen the quality of man that he was.

He didn't know if she thought of him, but he almost always thought of her in fact it was one of the few things that kept him going in these times of great tribulation. The other thing being the plethora of books that humanity had crafted over many thousands of years of existence, learning of human culture had become a hobby, and had filled the Sugiuran with intrigue upon his arrival in this realm. However, with war being about, and chaos being thrown around the world, Zunza had little time for educating himself on Human culture. In that same vein he found it hard to find a reason to join in on the fiasco that was this war. Coming from the Western Sugiuran Hierarchy, War was kind of the economy, and everything that he saw reminded him of the pointless conflicts that separated his people. Why did all disputes have to be settled with violence? Why not simply coexist?

He understood so very little about demons and their wants and needs that the idea of coexistence didn't seem like such a bad compromise, however he knew that his lack of knowledge on the subject was probably why things seemed so perplexing to him. He continued to walk, his letter to his loved one being written by two hovering disembodied hands made by psionic energy, one holding a book, and the other a quill. The hand with the quill wrote what he thought, it connected to his mind by the mystic arts, and he walked with purpose to what he hoped would be a stream to wash his clothes in. He had been living as a hermit since he had exited from the Sugiuran realm, deciding it better to try life outside on his own instead of relying on others. It had been a novel experience for the young man who had once lived in a mansion and then a palace, but it was indeed hard. Learning how to live had been a matter of reading the right books and finding the right places to set up shop, so to speak, and he had done quite well with that due to his photographic memory.

His attention was split as the sound of a cracking branch alerted him to the presence of something around him and the sound of a youth shouting filled his ears. He decided to, hesitantly of course, go check out what all of the noise was about, and began to walk in that direction, using his sacred weapon as a sort of walking stick. He decided on the way to hide the book and dispel the hands, there was no need to shock someone with something they had never seen before, and there was no reason to oust himself as an outsider. No, it would be better to pretend to be human to blend in, even if one who could sense energy could tell that he was different. So, he stumbled through the underbrush finally arriving at the place where a young man was kneeling, and holding his head in pain.

"Are you alright, young man?"

His accent would come out Germanic, it was the best he could do as speaking the language of the Earthlings was easy, but his Sugiuran way of speaking still simply spilled out. It was best to mask that with an accent and he had chosen Germanic as it had been closest to his dialect and tone. After all, his goal was not to stand out, and even these little facades he supposed would help.

The gentle scent of fresh roses would fill the air as the crimson cloaked figure would seem to just appear out of thin air, standing in front of the kneeling boy as he screamed out. The figure seemed not to notice the being that had just spoken, his words echoing softly in the suddenly silent forest.

Within the hood of the cloak was pure darkness, though golden locks of hair spilled forth as the figure knelt down as well. From the crook of her left arm she grabbed a woven reed basket, revealing her pale, translucent tone. It would be at this moment that the boy may notice that the figures whole form could be seen through, the being that had approached him standing behind it.

Suddenly the figure vanished. The ground showed no sign of disturbance where she had knelt. The smell of roses was quickly replaced with the scent of warm, freshly baked muffins that sat under a red silken cloth in the basket that had been in the figures arm. Inside the basket was a small sheet of papyrus with writing in smeared blood etched into it. "Gute Besserung"

Is this another sign of my bad luck..?

Dumbfounded by what had happened, Touma was visibly nervous and looking around after noticing a basket of.. muffins? Freshly-baked even. There was no one in sight neither was there any trace of their presence either. In this world where supernatural beings are more or less common, one would expect people to get used to them especially for Touma but what made it worse was a sheet of papyrus, etched in blood in some language that he doesn't know and with this figure nowhere to be seen, his danger senses were tingling hard.

"Is this.. a curse or something?"

He looked over the sheet of papyrus and then the muffin. Being afraid is one thing but he is more worried about what would happen if he took that basket of muffins. Just when he is about to reach out to the basket with his right hand, Touma noticed a guy calling out to him, asking if he was okay. His thick accent made Touma thought that he was some foreigner that happened to be in the forest but he also had one thing to confirm.

"Uhh.. Yeah. I'm fine."

With an awkward smile, Touma pointed at the basket of muffins first before moving it towards this.. german man's direction?

"This? Prank?"

His way of talking to him was awkward as well since his thick accent made Touma assume that he didn't know his native language that well despite clearly speaking it moments ago.

Maybe he just know a few words, he thought.

Really, he hopes that this is just some joke this guy just set up to mess with him, unable to forget this figure that he took a glimpse of before it faded away.

Man, such misfortune.

As if by magic, oddly enough, a basket full of muffins seemed to have materialized before him, and the young man in front of him. He had not had time to remove his glasses to truly see what had happened, but he had a feeling that nothing evil was afoot, or that anything that could be considered malicious was going to happen if they ingested the muffins. No, this seemed more like a gift than anything, and upon seeing the pastries, Zunza was reminded of the girl he loved, and he tried his best to power through a well of emotions that seemed to swell up inside of him almost instantly. He cleared his throat as the young man spoke to him in a way that seemed to be absolutely illiterate, perhaps the boy did not speak proper English? It was quite possible he had a disability. It was not his place to judge.

"Oh my apologies, I did not know you had some form of speech impediment. I apologize profusely for my ill manners and atrocious etiquette, I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive a fool such as me."

Zunza bowed to the boy, as he believed was the custom in Japan at the least, but that could be because most of the books he had read resonated from the early twenty first century. He quickly realized he had not answered the boys question and then stood straight up rather quickly before looking at the young man rather curiously. Did he believe that he had set the basket of pastries down? That he had done something such as that without any thought that someone would be in the area and done so for the reason of being a trickster? That seemed dumb, but he was unsure of the customs of this world. Perhaps leaving muffins in the middle of a glade with a note written in blood was common place? Who was he to judged another species for their antics and behavior. After all he was a visitor in a strange land, a guest in their home, and he had to be accepting of their customs and try his best to be respectful.

"No, of course not. I would never leave a basket of pastries just laying around. Pastries are for eating, not pranking."

He said as he took a quick glance at the note which he couldn't read, which was odd as he was well versed in most of the languages, written and otherwise, in this realm. He was indeed intrigued as the unknown and the pursuit of knowledge were two things that he greatly pursued. Zunza reached into his bag made of leather, pulling out an ointment for bumps and bruises, he reached out to hand it to the boy.

"Just in case you have some kind of injury, young man. This ointment is made from several local herbs and roots that have medicinal properties it should help you if you are hurt."

He said with a warm smile, well as warm as he could get it to be as the puzzle of an unknown message simply causing him great confusion. He wished to solve this riddle, but for now it would have to wait.

"Oh hey, it seems like you can speak English pro-"

His sentence quickly broke off once he realized that there was a few words that were off in that polite sentence of his and upon a few seconds more of processing in his head, did he found out that he was told to have some sort of speech problems since he was into the assumption that the man before him wasn't native and that he couldn't speak the language here other than just a few words because of his accent.

"Wait, what do you mean speech impediment!?"

Touma shouted, almost in a form of rebuttal as he pointed out as to why he was thought to have some sort of speech problems. While it is slightly insulting to be thought of that way, he wasn't genuinely angry about it since anyone would've assumed so as well in the way that he's talking to him.

Scratching the back of his head for a short while, Touma eventually took a closer step towards the glasses-wearing guy.

"I mean, you're the only person I saw here. So uh.. I thought you were playing some kind of joke."

As he said those words, Touma let out an awkward laugh. Unfortunate occurrences was and still is something that he commonly experiences due to the nature of his right hand having the ability to outright get rid of all the good luck blessed upon him, so when a basket of muffins appeared out of nowhere for him, he was quick to jump into the conclusion that nothing good is going to come out of it if he ever were to interact with the basket, much less even eating it. So, it ended up that the first guy that he spots barely had anything to do with the basket of muffins at all.

At this point, he honestly doesn't know if their meeting in this forest is good luck or bad luck. Hopefully nothing to do with the basket as well though, he thought as his eyes quickly darted back and forth for a moment between the muffins and back to the guy in front of him.

When he was offered an ointment, Touma's opinion of this guy changed a bit, thinking that maybe he wasn't so bad after all.

"Thanks man. I guess those glasses aren't for show, huh."

Politely taking the ointment from his hands, Touma didn't waste his time to quickly apply to the wound that he got from the branch that fell on him earlier ago. He wasn't sure if it was effective or not compared to modern medicine in the city he lives in but hey, if it works, it works.

"So uh, if that basket isn't yours, you can have it together with that letter. I have a bad feeling about it and I don't really want to do anything with it."

He shuddered a bit at the sight of the basket, still wondering who put it there in the first place if it isn't him. Plus, if he touched the basket with his right hand, he wouldn't know what would happen either. So its best to not meddle with it and let this other guy handle it however he wants.

That's what he thinks as the best course of action at the moment.
