Rebels [Arrancar Org founded by Safira, Member]
Hebi Laboratories [Loosely]Appearance:
See above for image.
Unlike most Selves, he wears a white lab coat. He is also missing the Doctor's usual strange scale-like skin deformations. If one were to look beneath his shirt, they would see that he is also missing the typical serpent in his stomach. Due to the lack of scale-like formations on his skin, he looks significantly younger than other Selves. Purpose:
Patrick is the assigned assistant to Safira, in order to coordinate any joint efforts between her organization and Hebi Laboratories. He is meant to be the face that she or others within the organization can interact with during or after the current war.
Another reason for his existence is that he has been cut off from the Doctor's typical mental network. He does not have the constant emotions and sensory input that most of his kind do. As a result, he is suspicious of what will happen to him once his job has been completed and Nagato is laid low. Depending on how he is treated by the created alliance, he may wind up ultimately helping or harming them once their purpose is fulfilled. Personality:
The most important aspect of Patrick's personality is that he is a professional. He knows what he is designed to do; end the power and influence of Nagato. He knows how to focus on completing his objective despite his personal feelings. It is extremely uncommon for him to break this professional outward façade, but some part of him feels like he will gradually utilize this trait less and less as time goes on. It is not something that he has chosen to have; but was something he was designed to do.
He is generally aware of his own purpose, but knows little to nothing about the purpose for which he was enhanced. He is generally unaware of his own powers and abilities, and is likely to spend his time trying them out if he were to corner a member of an opposing organization. Needless to say, he is professional enough to not do this to the members of his own organization.
Patrick is significantly more honest than his predecessor. He says exactly what is on his mind, particularly when he is relaxed. It is almost as if he is in rebellion of that part of the Doctor's personality. Interestingly, he feels no particular loyalty to the Doctor. If he were to betray the Rebels organization, then Patrick would be the one to rat him out.
The more negative aspect of Patrick's personality that he tries to repress is his own paranoia. He is frankly scared of what will happen to him once he has finished his work. After all, he has been cut off from the mental network of the Doctor; he cannot use the vast majority of the abilities he has come to know and rely on over the last two years. The silence in his head feels maddening to him; and this could come out in a negative manner if he feels that he is starting to be abandoned. That is what his paranoia is truly over; he does not want to be 'abandoned' again.
Hueco Mundo Resident
Patrick has developed a peculiar fondness for Hueco Mundo. He wants to see it… well, not quite 'prosper', persay, but at least be within its own autonomy. It is likely that if an outward force attempted to take some amount of land within Hueco Mundo, he would make sacrifices and strides toward preventing them from doing so. He is also abundantly familiar with Hollows and Arrancar; he thinks a touch more of them than most other people when he first meets and interacts with them.
He is quite fond of the idea of 'rebelling'. Doing it small ways appears to tickle him; he knows he is different than most other Selves, and has taken quite a liking to thinking he is 'going against the grain' in some manner. For example, he is very open to the idea of changing his name; he simply has not found one that suits him better yet. History:
Patrick is a special Selve. While most Selves are produced within the Doctor's stomach, made from his shed skin, this is not the case with Patrick. The man was created in the Doctor's lab, using a strange mixture of his own skin and his wife's. He was designed with a single purpose in mind: patricide. The final component given to him was the peculiar ability to disconnect himself from the Selve biological connection.
Over the next two years, he performed a series of spying tasks for the Doctor throughout Hueco Mundo. As a result, he learned a significant amount about the politics of the realm, the kinds of power brokers it had, and its history. Unlike most knowledge that the Selves possess, he held these bits and pieces of knowledge within his own head. He had to watch as Nagato came back to power within Hueco Mundo, and became intimately familiar with why the Doctor hates him so much.
Not long after that, he was instructed to go and find a peculiar woman, who held a strong interest in overthrowing the man known as Nagato. A few weeks before the arranged meeting date, he returned to the Living World. It was the first time he had returned since he left after being born; he found it awkward and odd, being there in the living realm. There were too many buildings, too many… things
. None of the simple savagery of the place he realized he thought of as his home. He was given a single package to deliver, and the inner contents of it… confused him.
But he did not question his orders; he took the package back with him to where he belonged. And then, he was sent back to see a certain woman, known as Safira… to make sure that she received that package, and to offer his services for anything she required. Powers:
Patrick is disconnected from the other Selves. He cannot access the network that the Doctor has; for him to communicate with the man requires the use of one of the Doctor's communicators. This was an 'ability' which once activated, becomes rather pointless. It takes away Patrick's access to the Kintsugigan and the Doctor's nest of information. The Doctor himself is the only one able to activate this ability.
Similar to the Doctor, Patrick's mental capacity is rather large. While he may not be able to handle as many variables simultaneously as his creator, he is able to handle far more things simultaneously than an ordinary person could, and it is rather difficult to trick or deceive him when there is evidence that what he is looking at isn't real. That is to say that an illusory ability utilized against him will need to be rather powerful to work on him. He possesses an eidetic memory, but he does not possess the Doctor's level of knowledge. He only knows what he has personally seen or been directly told about. Up to the point where he is disconnected from the Doctor's network, he has only been informed about the most important key players within conflicts worldwide and a variety of information concerning Hueco Mundo, including its past, the cultures it has sustained, key players that have shaped its existence, modern day practices and alliances, and a variety of other miscellaneous information.
He has access to the Doctor's snake scrolls, and will occasionally have one of them on his person if he knows he will need it for something in advance. However, he cannot actually make the scrolls himself, and for him to get more they have to be delivered by the Doctor's other Selves.
Patrick is skilled in the art of reconnaissance. He knows, generally, how to move without being seen; it tends to be more difficult for people to physically see or hear him when he does not wish to be seen. He has adapted his won method of 'invisibility', similar to the one that the Doctor utilizes through Mu. While using this, he becomes physically unable to be seen, and any noises he makes are significantly muffled. His spiritual energy is also reduced to the point where those without advanced or special abilities that detect energy are unable to find him.
The most important trait about this is that Patrick cannot utilize any of his spiritual abilities during the same post where this stealth mode is disabled, or while the stealth mode is active. If he is physically damaged or interacts with a living being, his stealth mode is automatically disabled. During combat, it cannot be activated. Starting it and maintaining it requires a minimal amount of energy for Patrick, similar to the Doctor. It should also be noted that while in this mode, if he is found out and struck, his Hierro is significantly weaker, causing most forms of damage to hit him nearly as hard as they would a powerless human.
While he does retain the Doctor's Earth Pass ability, his is significantly harder for him to use. The amount of time it takes for him to begin it requires more time than a typical thread would take, and his version of it is significantly slower than the Doctor's. It can take him hours or even days to reach his destination, depending on how far away it is from where he starts. Unlike the Doctor's, however, his is designed to work with Hueco Mundo's land; it would not work if he attempted to use it on Earth or another dimension.
While the Selve does not possess the augmented shell of flesh that the Doctor uses, he does have his own augmented skin. This skin makes it so that upon taking damage, his skin behaves as though it possesses a Hierro, generally reducing the amount of damage that he would take by expending his spiritual energy in exchange. He cannot harden the skin consciously; it subconsciously utilizes his spirit energy along the length of his body. Typically, this means that most minor attacks from significantly weaker individuals can be ignored. However, it is not strong enough that a terrifically damaging attack, even from a weaker person, can have much done to stop it, as once the initial shell is pierced, his body takes the rest of the brunt of the blow.
Another effect of this trait is that Patrick 'feels' like an Arrancar. For those looking at his spiritual energy, without extraordinarily powerful levels of perception, he appears to be just another Arrancar. He seems to have their spirit energy
The other ability which the Selve possesses is a translation of the Doctor's own Satanic Uniqueness. While the Selve does not possess the Doctor's energy that is incredibly painful to absorb, he does have a kind of 'translation' of it. Essentially, Patrick's spirit energy, when conducted through his own skin, is extraordinarily corrosive to the Hierro of Arrancar. For example, if he were to place his hand on a foot soldier Arrancar's chest, and release a significant portion of his spiritual energy, their whole torso would begin to grow green and sickly, the Hierro that covers their chest, stomach, and upper arms breaking and shattering away.
This effect lasts for roughly two posts after he first makes physical contact. While it is possible for a more powerful Arrancar's hierro to resist this effect, Patrick's ability to corrode and break their Hierro is disproportionately more effective at breaking them down. This ability can only be used once in a single post, due to the nature of it; it begins the moment the point of his body he is focusing on makes physical contact with his target. The ability does take a significant amount out of him to use; he will be noticeably slower and less focused for at least the post afterward. Recovering from this state of exhaustion typically takes three posts before he can use this ability again to any capacity.
If he were to try to use it four times within the same thread, he would likely completely exhaust himself, to the point of being unable to move.
Another important trait of this effect is what it does to Patrick's own body. The easiest way to see this is in his hands, as after using the ability, his skin breaks and shatters, blood oozing out and the true nature of his energy as an Angel Iramasha becoming temporarily revealed. This lack of concealment tends to last for a post. It should be noted here that he cannot simply 'regenerate' himself on the fly. He depends on his Hierro for his protection; if he damages himself in this way, it will continue to hamper him throughout the remainder of the thread.
While Patrick is not typically able to mold his energy into various things, there is one thing he can do with it: launch it straight out of his hands. This allows for him to perform attacks similar to a Hollow's Cero. He does not have the level of control necessary yet to create something like a Bala, but most ways that an Arrancar could learn how to augment or manipulate their Cero, he has the capacity to do as well. He still lacks the training for such things, however, so for now he is simply able to create energy blasts out of his hands like a Hollow would.
What He Doesn't Have
Patrick cannot regenerate himself supernaturally; he recovers from wounds at the same rate that a typical Iramasha would. He also does not have any kind of augmented speed; he cannot use Sonido or any other kind of high-speed movement. He has no degree of weapon skill using any kind of weapon whatsoever. Similarly, he has no amount of Martial Training. He has a small amount of augmented strength, but not enough to make much of a difference against other supernatural beings.
