The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko stopped considering her words on the subject of Famine. It wasn't anything he could do something about. It wasn't his area of skill nor would it ever be. Visions of previous fights still haunted his dreams and nightmares. Combat he wished he could have avoided. Wiping the sweat from his brow of the slight anxiety just talking to her. "They are taken orphans of the war, mostly deep into the Zaraki District. They are transporting them through illegal realm crossing. I've killed five so far. As he said it a saddened expression crossed his face. It was something that made his heartache every single time. When he extinguished the flame of life in someone it brought him sadness. He cried and mourned his enemies every one of them. Not one went by where he forgot the face of life he'd taken. Even with the demon just now he felt remorseful. But it sought to end his life and in the end, he wanted to live. "They've got a pretty heavily guarded area, with a person who's about vice-captain level. He said musing to himself about it though he guessed it was best to say they had Shikai.

"They've got Shikai, seen them use it once or twice. As for its powers seems to be a wind-based weapon From what I could gather they mainpulate the air currents. " He said finishing explaining that subject to her now. The problem was they didn't have numbers at the moment. Two against them would be rough considering he suspected about one hundred people there. "One hundred people in the inside group, outside could be anywhere in the upper thousand." Takehiko sighed a bit as it was clear he didn't relish the fight coming. No, he wished beyond hope he could just tell Henrex-sama or even his uncle Tsubasa. He just wished he could run away from this entire thing. Takehiko wished he could just be a healer and mend people. Unohana-Sama though could do both, he just needed to stop being a baby. But the fact was at the end of it he could only cry for those lost.

"You know something? I hate this entire thing, I hate the fact I have to go and kill people. Even when angry I always regret it later. I can't go to my Uncles, one is in prison and my other...would never understand..Duty before personal feelings. I...get it...but we all live in this world...do we have to kill people? Is that needed for us to live in this reality? " He felt slight trembling in his hands. Feeling the fear of another confrontation, of Abi stabbing him in the back. So many fears inside him yet that came from a natural place. "I went to a battlefield, my unit were traitors who intended to switch sides by..killing everyone else in their sleep..I remember the moment their swords pierced my body vividly. " He didn't know why he was telling her this, Takehiko didn't have a therapist or anyone. He was left alone with his issues and knew well enough. Ulv would punt him or simply tell him to stop whining and find out. Gently his hands stopped trembling as he touched the spot stabbed before.

"Nevermind, sorry for talking nonsense." Takehiko inhaled quieting himself and his nerves. Takehiko wasn't a stone-like his uncle but sometimes he wished he was.

The news of what the Kuchiki was up against was troubling. Cross-world travel. Numbers potentially in the thousands. A vice-captain level leader who possessed shikai. Old feelings welled up in her breast, and an equally troublesome smirk was beginning to edge its way onto her face. They weren't Hollow, but it was just like back then. The odds were horrifically against them.

However, Takehiko didn't stop there.

"And, you tell me to trust people?" A poor attempt at lightening the mood with humor, certainly. "I was murdered by my first lover, then killed her in kind after becoming a Hollow. Now, my other- Arácnida wears her face, and I'm supposed to be friends with her." She sighed, as painful as it was to admit it aloud. One hand had squeezed so tightly the skin was turning pale, and she relaxed only to run her fingers through her hair for some sense of comfort.

"It happens: betrayal and death. You're a fucking god of death, in addition to being the embodiment of War." She never was good at encouragement. "Now, do you want to sit there and keep sucking on that pity dick, or are we going to break up a slave trade?" Wait...

She paused for just a moment, as the pieces fell into place. Kuchiki... Uncle... Duty... Oh my god.

"You're not... Captain Kuchiki's nephew, are you?"

The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko couldn't very well sit in sorrow questioning. But there was little information coming out of it. They wouldn't be fighting the thousands that duty fell to someone familiar. "I'm Takehiko Kuchiki, nephew of Byakuya Kuchiki. " Takehiko sighed knowing that he couldn't simply dine on the pity. Not to mention Abi's version of moral support was less than helpful really. "Jezebel told me, she would be..taking those outside by herself. I tried to ask about the Gotei joining, to help in this hunt. She told me they stink too much and any movement would be noticed. This requires a delicate and unnoticeable group, thus me due to my..lack of power." Takehiko understood Jezebel didn't mean it as an insult. But the fact was the Gotei was noticeable down to their outfits. But that wasn't anything he could change really. Gotei members operated within the laws of society but couldn't go that far. The number of them would be seen and noticed which he got.

"Well, it doesn't matter either way truthfully. I'm supposed to help you with the one hundred inside. While you deal with the main person, least that's what Jezebel suggested. " He said softly as he touched his zanpakuto knowing full well it wouldn't matter. He wasn't a good swordsman nor a Hakuda specialist. He was at all intensive points a kido expert. One who wielded the power of kido to frightening effect. He also had a few tricks up his sleeve he could unleash. That was his plan when it came right down to it. He'd been working on a couple of secret moves for this fight. What he lacked in swordsmanship or Hakuda he made up for here. Though she'd only seen a small usage of his power. Takehiko didn't intend to slow her down. "They are in Zaraki, thus some other people may get involved." Not having Shikai was a problem Takehiko had yet to truly overcome. But it wasn't one he felt troubled by really either. He had Ruin and Akuma to rely on for help.

Abigaíl sighed into her hand, more out of annoyance with her realization than anything else. Of course, Takehiko would be related to Captain Kuchiki so closely. It was as if the world was mocking her for ever thinking to trust him...

"Either way, I'm sure Jezebel can handle herself. She does make a good point, too." She dropped her hand and crossed her arms in front of her, though loosely in a posture that spoke more of how deeply she was thinking than any agitation. "I'm sure she already knows, but for your own benefit, I used to belong to the Stealth Force. Assassinations were... my specialty."

Her eyes locked on to the Kuchiki's, and stared with an intensity that betrayed only her seriousness on the matter. "I shouldn't need to say what will happen to you if this leaves the two of us..." She thought quietly for a second. "Three, counting Jezebel." Truthfully, she would have no issues with killing the Kuchiki if it kept her and select others safe.

"I have... plans for tonight already. Meet me at the shack at midnight in Soul Society's time." Now needing to move her own schedule forward by a few hours, and let her host know that she would not be home that night, Abigaíl turned and took a few steps away from the seated Kuchiki. "Dress in dark blues. Black is too obvious at night. And, don't be late."

She vanished quickly with her flash step, though not in the direction of her eventual destination. She didn't wish to be followed, and would spend quite some time running in circles if she had to, to conceal where it was she lived. If it came down to it, she would even resort to opening a Garganta.

The Silent Kuchiki

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko took a small breath before heading through a Garganta he created now. Having gotten a bit stronger with his hollow powers something weighed on the Kuckchi. News gotten about his mentor frustrated him greatly. Bringing anger inside him that was hard to fathom. Takehiko felt anger build inside him that such a misuse of power could happen. Ibiki stepped down and another tyrant had brought his colors out. Shunsui Kyoraku, this wasn't going to work for him anymore. He couldn't remain part of the Gotei or be what he sought. He'd need to find a new path as he sat outside the Shack. Wearing a dark blue kimono they provided him. It was a yukata design with no patters on it. The Gotei was no longer in any condition to monitor this now as he leaned back. Slamming his fist into the ground no fiercely as he growled to himself. ' Ruin, Akuma, things have changed now we no longer can return to that place. They betrayed Master Henrex making them not the place to go." Takehiko clenched his jaw feeling his muscles tighten.

Sighing he crumpled the paper in his hands now realizing the depravity of the Gotei. That they as record keepers could do it, but on the other hand. This was something that broke every possible thing. It didn't belong here or happening in this regard. Takehiko could only think of one or two who could help. But right now he was in no position to do so. Takehiko's resolve came back to him slowly over this period. Waiting for Jezebel to return from her job as the redhead did so. She saw a dark look in Takehiko's eyes. "Young master, I see the news reached you." Takehiko merely closed his eyes inhaling now. What could he accomplish without his zanpakuto? Without could he do at this moment in time? Softly he nodded as he glanced upwards from the redheaded maid. This wasn't going to solve itself and would mean trouble. "This bodes poorly for the future. There is going to be an uproar from the Gotei and a mass exodus from that place. Master Henrex was well-liked by his peers and very much accepted and respected his effort." Takehiko bit his thumb softly as Jezebel saw the wheels turning.

Under no circumstance could he give the Mod Souls bodies from the Gotei. This didn't seem like it would work out in any situation. His trust in that system was done now. "It's broken now and I'm not strong enough to fix or aid it at this moment. I'll continue training and doing missions for the Unabara as War. Come what may of the consequences to myself. He reaffirmed himself now with this distancing himself entirely from the Gotei. His Uncle Byakuya would likely understand. Or maybe he couldn't in truth but that didn't matter. Takehiko had his reasons for siding with Henrex. That man was his teacher above all else. He wouldn't side with anyone who dishonored him. If he had to become Takehiko Unabara and lose his Kuchiki name so be it. That was his level of sacrifice he was ready to make.

Even if he had to be just Takehiko he would on behalf of his mentor. He'd not ever turn his back on the ideals and principals he believed in. He hated fighting and violence, but now he would stomach it. Choke down what he could to accomplish things as a warrior. He intended to ask Abi for something she didn't expect he imagined. Not to join the family but something else entirely.

When the Levee Breaks - Page 2 7L69wmz

Night had fallen, and underneath its veil, the air was torn asunder so that Abigaíl could pass unheeded onto the grounds of the Zaraki district. Dressed in a dark blue hoodie and spandex that would be easy to move around in, as well as wearing sneakers that she'd spray painted to better camouflage for the mission, she stepped purposefully across the poorly kept lawn towards the boy seated beside the dilapidated shack.

One hand rose gently to remove the mask from over her face, and she stepped into the faint light to greet her two... acquaintances.

"Good. We're all here, then." Her zanpakutō was gripped firmly by its sheathe in one hand, and she pulled at the collar of her hoodie to vent some of the warmth out of it. Night or no, it was still summer, and she was hardly dressed for comfort right now.

However, not all seemed well with the pair, as her eyes adjusted fully to the dim lighting. Concern gleamed in her eyes for just a moment, before she thought it best to know. "What happened?"

Takehiko's eyes drifted upwards sighing softly." For reasons I'm not yet aware of, Captain Astillon has been dismissed from active duty. " Takehiko's gaze shifted down towards the news brought to him. He had at first wanted to quit the Gotei and stop being there. His nails dug into the paper as he glanced towards Jezebel. "Well, that's a face I heard you turned down our hospitality again. Shame, well if you both will excuse me..I've some gents to go entertain before you arrive. I'll draw away what I can, I'm rather certain after they meet me they will give chase." The maid hadn't changed into stealth clothing. But she was a professional with how she slipped into the cover of darkness. It was almost effortless something that likely Abi could detect. Jezebel had been a very skilled assassin in her day. Now using her skills here as Takehiko had heard rumors. Nothing concrete yet had been said about his teacher. He didn't know how to respond yet to this as he wasn't an important piece.

He didn't have Shikai as of yet nor did he have talents outside his medical skills. The training was something he'd done tirelessly since he'd begun. But now his teacher was gone from the Gotei. He'd desired to impressive his teacher and improve drastically. "This troubles me since I question if the current Head Captain can be trusted. " Takehiko was thinking now more calmly and strategically now. "With him dismissed they lost their best fighter arguably. I can't keep dawdling here at this present level, I need to break free. I have to learn about my shikai soon." He said to himself realizing the gravity of this situation. The Gotei had pretty much lost one Captain and the fallout would be unknown. Takehiko exhaled before glancing up at her a resolve in his gaze now. He didn't have time to worry about killing or not killing anymore. He'd wield his new kido here and today to help her. Jezebel had gone off and they were to await a signal.

" We are to await her signal, which will be pretty easy to spot she said. " Takehiko commented before his eyes blinked the entire direction had turned a purple like color. Glowing before screaming could be heard in that direction. Whatever she had done from this distance he could not be sure. But Jezebel had done something and it certainly had gotten attention. Takehiko didn't know how Abi would want to come to this place. It was a fortress built of several houses combined into one large building. It looked run down and of course, breaking through was an option. It wasn't even half as well guarded trap wise as the Shack. The entry point was up to Abi one hundred men plus a man with a shikai. That was the enemies that awaited them, Takehiko didn't have a shikai or special powers. But he did have something else a bit more remarkable. He kept them hidden within his clothing for now, not wishing to spoil the surprise of his latest technique.

Abigaíl had never heard the name before in her life, and to the best of her knowledge, there had been no captain by that name before she'd left the Gotei. Maybe he was a recent appointee, then? Either way, it didn't seem to concern her at all, nor did the Kuchiki's continued rambling. She didn't trust the Gotei herself, but neither did she give a damn why this upset the boy so.

"I had wanted to scout before we attacked." She muttered as the sounds of Jezebel's distraction reached them. Breathing a soft sigh, the brunette drew her zanpakutō and uttered a command with a swift, showy flourish of the blade, "Weave!" In an instant, the katana had changed its shape to that of an espada ropera, or rapier, as the Kuchiki might recognize it.

"Keep an eye out." She spoke to the boy before leaping up onto one unseen platform, then another, and finally onto the roof of the shack. From up here, she extended her sword arm out and towards the would-be garrison, and released her power out into the world. Countless threads came forth from the tip of the blade, nigh invisible in the low light, and drifted over and through the nearby buildings.

In thirty seconds, she would know the exact location of every object within that area. Every locked door and empty doorway, every broken window, and every man and woman desperately trying to react to the redheaded maid's assault.

Together with her sensory abilities, she might have even been able to learn the most direct path to the leader.

Takehiko Kuchiki

Takehiko watched as she moved his azure eyes slowly scanning the area. But what she would see would be beautiful. Abigail would see the Shikai of Jezebel activated at this moment. Thousands of amethyst colored butterflies filled the air dropping pollen upon those who fell. The glimmering glow of it shinned in the night showcasing the talent of a former assassin. Jezebel was known by many names during her tenor in the Gotei. The Blood Red Butterfly is one of the names she took. Others included her zanpakuto's release of the thousandfold butterflies. It was as though watching a beautiful migration of butterflies moving across the skies. Takehiko had seen the shikai once during training. When Tanaka had been teaching him Hakuda things. Still, the Kuchiki heir did see things differently. It was almost time for them to begin as she used her sensory skills. To locate the leader within the base he had about one hundred with him. Takehiko wasn't sure what she saw but it gave him ideas. For kido based on sensory skills.

Takehiko had gotten some ideas on newer spells and techniques he could refine. Those would have to wait until after this mission. Takehiko taking a small step jumped folding himself using very skilled steps. His Hoho held a beautiful motion upon its movement. Using grace he landed near her now as he imagined few would dare. Coming close to here would prove a difficult challenge for them. Takehiko gently touched his zanpakuto on his waist. And still, he'd yet to learn the name of his sword. This nameless thing he wore on his waist a friend waiting to be awoken. But at this moment it was unlikely he had enough power. It was impressive how far ahead of him she was. Everyone always had to protect him due to his frailty and weakness. Takehiko knew what spells he would be using in that place to dispatch them quickly. "I'll be utilizing kido against his guards if he has any, I'll try to help you with it from a distance. " Takehiko said letting her know what his intention was.

Now it was up to her when they moved or made a jump towards that location. They were going into a hornet's nest that had been stirred up. Simple walking and fighting wouldn't work. Despite Takehiko's weakness, he had some ideas for a couple of spells in mind. But one stood out in mind though it would be destructive by its very nature. Fushibi was its name and it would require some skill on the part of the Kuchiki. Takehiko had a plan in his head, execution would be the troubling portion. But for now, he had to make sure he could help Abi. Spells ran through his mind he could use several bakudo or Hadō in this situation. But the layout would determine how well this went. That would be the point of which they would fight and survive. This encounter didn't feel right to him at the moment. But all the fights he got nervous before going in. Had turned out relatively alright for him and those involved.

A small smirk adorned her face as the boy explained how he'd planned to help her. Her knowledge of magic was extremely limited, and her skill even more abysmal, but to have backup was a novel concept for her.

"Found him." Abigaíl spoke up the moment she'd found who she surmised was the leader of the group. "He's in the middle of a room. Five others line the outside walls. Two doors in and out." As she explained the situation in few words, her shikai returned to its usual state, and she sheathed the blade without showing concern. Her breathing, however, had grown heavier. Even for such a brief time, using her shikai was tiring.

After a deep breath to steady herself, she glanced over at the Kuchiki. "I'll get us in, and go for the leader. You disable the guards and block the doors while I deal with him." She gave the boy only a few seconds to gather himself before raising her hand to her face, and with a sharp tug, donned her mask. Her dark, twisted reiatsu spilled out over the shack for a moment before she'd pulled it back inward.

With both hands, she reached forward and grabbed ahold of the fabric of space itself, sending cracks spanning out from where her fingers had disappeared. Usually, she would have used a personal Garganta for this, but with Takehiko's presence, Arácnida knew of another technique that would suffice: Kūmon.

Already, the sounds of panic and angry voices came from the tear, and with a mighty pull of both arms, Abigaíl wrenched the portal open to reveal the very room she had mentioned. Takehiko would need to enter first, then she would strike in the very fashion that she preferred.

One powerful leap would send her into the room faster than even her flash step, and two hands sizzling with the power of her acidic energies would bear down on the central man's arms and hands.
