Destined Allies [Laskt] Empty Destined Allies [Laskt]

Destined Allies [Laskt] LT5vPYw

The early morning breeze carried the salty scent of the sea through the Stadt des Lichts. Few sea birds were awake at this hour, but their calls broke the silence like shattered glass. The feeling of disturbed reishi told the stories of soldat carrying out their training at this waking hour, but that was not her purpose this morn.

Sylvia stood at the end of the dock, on the very edge of the city. Her long coat might have given the impression of protecting her from the errant waves and wind, though any who had known her would certainly know better. Ever so subtly; the winds curved around her figure, and only gently caressed her cheek on their way further into the city. The tides, likewise, calmed underneath her feet, lest they get her new outfit wet before today's very important meeting.

The newly promoted captain yawned, and pulled a smartphone from her pocket to check the time. Communications with the Gotei were tenuous, at best, and especially when using mediators, as she had. Even so, her guide had several minutes left before they would be late.

PREPARE TO ENTER THE VIZARD'S POST

The Vizard Knight strode across the courtyard of the Senkaimon, barely even noticing the chanting members of the Kido Corps as they prepared to open the dimensional gateway. Laskt’s hands fluttered near his coat pocket, double and triple checking that the Jigokuchō was in it’s proper place, and had not flown away in the few seconds since he had last verified it’s position.

Laskt Matiche was nervous, extremely so. Mere days after he had transferred to the Combat Division, he had been assigned an extremely important mission: to escort and guide the Quincy mediator into the Seretei for negotiations. On top of this already stressful duty, and the fact that he would be a Vizard meeting a member of a race sworn to kill Hollows, he knew the mediator personally.

It was hard to forget Sylvia Brauer, especially after the woman had shot an arrow at his head.

The Vizard took a deep breath of the morning air into his lungs, holding it there for several seconds, then exhaling, forcing himself to calm down. This is going to go fine Laskt. You have the materials. Chikai's barriers are holding for the moment. Your Zanpaktou is in place and you are aware of the customs. Just don't break down and this should be over in minutes. Laskt reassured himself mentally, before striding confidently through the gateway.

He would emerge a few meters in front of Sylvia, stepping through the bluish portal with a thump as his booted foot smacked against the aged wood of the dock.“Madame Brauer? I am your escort into ze Seretei. I am pleased to meet you again.” Laskt said crisply, inclining his head in a half-bow of respect. Within the confines of his mind however, the knight was wary, noting how her power still equaled his own, despite all the training and fighting the Vizard had gone through.

Wary of the possibility of causing a major diplomatic incident, Laskt double-checked that his suppression of Chikai no Uragiru was at its maximum possible potency, pouring a little more of his Reiatsu into the binding to make sure that the tyrant would not emerge in this encounter. It made him a little weaker than he would like, and likely would anger the ancient evil, but it couldn’t be helped.

“I apologize for not arriving sooner. Would you like to go?”

At last, the portal akin to an old, Japanese-style doorway appeared in the way in front of her, and the Quincy captain slipped the phone back into her pocket quickly and deftly. She smiled at the figure stepping from within the gateway, and extended her hand in welco-

Actually, he had bowed his head. Sylvia hurried to correct her mistake, and cleared her throat of her embarrassment while returning his gesture of respect in kind.

"Herr Mastiche," she began, though in all honesty, she couldn't quite place where they might have met before. It was just a moment while she tried to remember, though the awkward silence was there. Then, it came to her, and her grin faltered with further embarrassment.

Of course, the man they send would be the very same she had shot at before joining the Vandenreich...

"Vy does it feel like zis is not coincidence?" She broke the moment of awkwardness between them, and chuckled briefly. As she stepped closer, the warmth of her inner flame reached out to do as it always did: give love and comfort to those who would accept it. Surely, Laskt would recognize such a thing if he had spent any length of time in the Harbour.

"Schall ve?" She stopped beside him, and in front of the portal. Sylvia wasn't entirely certain of the etiquette when traveling to another world, so she gestured for him to lead.
