The day was bright as it was just another day within the 4th Division. Sick kids getting taken care of, while sick and injured patients were being cured. It was roughly mid afternoon while in the Vice-Captain office, Neviah was alone looking over forms of the days medical findings. Her hair was down straight and her attire was the usual Shinigami uniform with a doctors coat over it, and her Vice-Captain bade on her right arm. She was looking over the medical forms of the day currently, and nothing seemed too out of place. As a matter of fact, everything was goin so smooth that it's as if Neviah could have some time for herself. Sadly though, Konomi was out on a field run with the Emergency Squad, so she wouldn't be back for quite some time. That left Neviah to be along and somewhat bored with no one to talk to, till Neviah glanced at a nearby picture frame. The picture was of Neviah when she appeared around 4 years of age in a cute little Kimono of white with black flowers, holding Unohana's hand and with a giant smile. The picture was DECADES old, but Neviah cherished it, because while her father was under his depression, Unohana was there for her, and since Neviah grew up without a mother, Unohana filled that gap for her...

Neviah smiled as she got an idea...

Standing up and pushing in her chair, Neviah gracefully strided along, heading in the direction of the 4th Division Captains office, Neviah smiled and knocked on the door peacefully and opened it looking inside with a childish smile upon her face...

"U-Unohana-T-Taichou??"

Neviah stepped in lady-like, expecting Unohana to be there with a question, hoping she wasn't too busy to at least answer...

Unohana sat in her office, filling out papers for Captain Hinamori's Division to collect for the commanding captain, Jenna Jade Water. However, periodically, she glanced at a picture off to her left sight. It is the picture of the time that she and Neviah were taking a stroll while Ceon, a friend of hers went into depression because of Senna's disappearance. Senna was Neviah's real mother, but she disappeared almost immediately after she gave birth to healthy Neviah. Unohana known this since she was the midwife for Senna; a midwife is a woman whose job is to help expecting mothers give birth. Ever since then, Ceon could not take care of her while Unohana was the only one left that Neviah could remember closely like a mother. She smiled, feeling proud that Neviah is turning into the woman that Ceon would at least smile about. However, thanks to Ceon's habits of tormenting other boys who dare to approach Neviah, Neviah has Androphobia primarily because she does not want other people getting hurt because of her.

Unohana knows it was no joke that Ceon was overprotective as she has many of her patients with severe injuries because of him. When Neviah was in her academy years, she was personally tutored by Unohana as she was guided to becoming a healer, a profession that would have guaranteed that Neviah would say out of trouble like Unohana promised Ceon that she will be out of harm's way. However, there is no escaping Neviah's impulsive will to protect others around her...just like her parents acted. In the past, Unohana watched over Neviah as she play and explore her little world at the fourth division barrack's garden. Now, Neviah is the chief of diagnostics and no longer needed her to watch over her. She even have Konomi with her as her emotional relief. All she needed is to fight her Androphobia. Hopefully she will get over it and find someone to settle down with, ever since the betrayal of Kazuki Hikamori, Neviah was stressed about that student in the ICU. Unohana was in thought before she heard a soft knocking before she came in.

The one who appeared before her was the same Neviah who Unohana was thinking about. She smiled at Neviah and gets up slowly. Upon Neviah's beckon, Unohana replied, "Neviah." Spoken sweetly like a caring mother while her approach to Neviah is like a mother greeting her daughter after a hard day. She hugged Neviah and held her close like she usually does whenever Neviah was seeking comfort. "How are you, dear?" Unohana asked Neviah, expecting her to be honest since no doubt, Neviah was a terrible liar.

As Neviah stepped in, she looked before her seeing the Beautiful and elegant Unohana Retsu before her. The one that not only stood in to bring her birth to success, but cared and raised the young girl from the infant stage till Ceon was ready to take her back in at the age of 10. The woman cared and loved Neviah almost as if she was her own and that was something that made Neviah grateful for eternity for such love and care. Even when Ceon took Neviah back to raise her, she still visited Unohana from time to time because after Senna died after birth, Unohana stood in as a mother to Neviah, and a young girl has needs that only a Mother can answer. When Neviah was confronted by members of Central 46, they requested that she join the Shino Academy. This was something Ceon was uncomfortable with because he didn't want his daughter fighting anyone, but Central 46 wanted the legacy of Ceon Clixx-Kimura and Senna Clixx-Kimura due to the potential she might have. Also, the fact that Ceon taught Neviah basic shunpo, hand to hand techniques, and ninja tactics at such a young age made her a perfect candidate. Central 46 guaranteed her safety and Neviah went with a smile on her face. Ceon wasn't too sure, but when he went to Unohana with the request of watching over her, Unohana accepted instantly not waiting a second to take the chance to watch over Neviah. Neviah could remember her first day of being in the academy and was immediately segregated from the others. Everyone knew she was the daughter of the Memory Rosaries and they feared the level of power she could represent. The fact they could destroy existence alone was something that forced others to shun her, and on top of her shy and timid behavior, it was difficult to make friends, but when Unohana showed up on her 2nd day of studies, Neviah smiled for the first time in the Academy as she was personally tutored and watched over by the Captain. Also, the 0 Division Leader himself, Ceon, was occasionally on the wall, over watching everything going on and making sure his daughter was well.

When Neviah graduated, she was met by her father on graduation day where she received a new Zanpaktou. Most of the students got their Zanpaktous by the 9th week, but Neviah got hers last because it was special. Ceon being in the 0 Division was able to get things and do many things others couldn't, and while there, he went into the archives and got a Zanpaktou that was sealed and locked away with many other Zanpaktous. The one Ceon picked was a Wakizashi like his, and was all glass. The entire blade, handle, hilt, guard, and even sheath was glass as dense and sharp as diamond, where on the blade Ceon inscribed something into it: " Continue to shine, and we will see you, no matter what..." Ceon learned it was the holder of the Spirit Serenity, and it was locked away due to the Spirit's incredible potential. Serenity seemed like a perfect match for Neviah because of both the potentials they hold, but also due to their personalities, so Ceon took it and presented it to Neviah on graduation.

After Graduation, Neviah never saw Unohana due to the Captains looking over applications of new entries. Neviah wanted to see Unohana, but when she received word that she was placed into the 4th Division as a low Officer due to her grades, Neviah couldn't be happier. She entered the 4th Division with the happiest aura, but when surrounded by the men, she entered instant fear. Neviah would avoid the boys at all costs and spend most her time in the 4th Division gardens planting flowers and making the 4th a beautiful place to be, but alas to Neviah's growth, she climbed the Officer ranks to become the 3rd Seat under Isane, Unohana's Vice Captain. When taking this role, Neviah was constantly working and learning new things to one day become the new Vice Captain. Isane was such a nice lady and Neviah liked Isane for all the things she did for her. Isane even taught Neviah how to work her Shikai correctly with Serenity, but when Unohana denied the 0 Division request, Isane went in her place putting Neviah in the new Vice Captain slot. Neviah couldn't be happier to work under the one she thinks of as her mother...

As Neviah realized Unohana was in the room, Neviah respectfully bowed with a gentle smile on her face. She was happy that Unohana wasn't too busy, but when Unohana stood saying Neviah's name, Neviah looked up a little confused, and was taken into a hug. Neviah went beet red instantly as she was taken in and held gently by Unohana. When Unohana asked Neviah how she was, Neviah couldn't answer at first as she was stunned by the gentle and warm touch by her Captain. It was something Neviah missed, but due to the constant level of work Neviah and Unohana have had, they barely spent time together. Neviah missed the embrace of her Mother, and she didn't want it interrupted, as Neviah wrapped her arms around Unohana and dug her head into her shoulder, quietly taking in the moment. It was true that Neviah was stressed due to the injured female in the ICU. Neviah used to be in the Shino Academy and it was a safe place to be. Also, with all the stress of the job, Konomi being away, the fallen student, and the sudden rise in the male gender coming around more often, Neviah was indeed stressed out, but she didn't want to burden her captain with the details, so Neviah tried to take the passive approach...

"U-Uhm... I-I'm okay..."

Unohana on the other hand, knowing Neviah for all 400+ years of her life, would know better than to believe Neviah if she was lying or not. Neviah just wanted to stay in the hug for a moment as she was happy there, just having the feeling that she was safe and there was nothing to worry about. Neviah was a little shorter than Unohana, as even though Neviah was 436 years of age, she still appeared only 19. Neviah was a pure soul, born in Soul Society and raised there, so her age to appearance was extremely slowed, unlike those who have lived on earth where their appearance is faster due to their age level. Finally, done with the hug, Neviah paused herself back a little bit as her beautiful tan eyes looked at Unohana and she smiled, her white hair gracefully following the flow of her movement. Neviah actually had a request however, that due to her far greater skills being in Hand to hand, speeds, and precision, but she was only average for a Vice-Captain upon Kidou. Neviah could do any kidou up to the 40's without a problem, but when recently she had to perform a level 70 Kidou with one hand, it was beyond difficult and Neviah almost didn't pull it off. Neviah wanted to get some practice so her skills will develop and she can continue to be the Obedient and successful Vice Captain she is. She is a tool for her Captain, and she wanted to be the best tool possible for Unohana...

"I-If it's okay... I..."

Neviah was having a hard time piecing words together. It's funny because Neviah can trust in Unohana and never be scared of her, but due to her shy nature she just can't help but stutter and always be timid. She was better off just being like her father who just stays silent all the time, but Neviah has a beautiful voice. It'd be a sin not to hear it, so she spoke as best she could for her sake to keep communication with others. It's too bad her real Mother didn't raise her at all; otherwise Neviah might be like Senna with her excited and cheerful aura. Maybe Konomi can step in and help get some confidence with Neviah a little~

Upon the stuttering, Neviah answered to Unohana, saying it was okay, but Unohana knows better than to believe it was true, not even she could stand what just happened. Her talk with the teacher, Jushiro Ukitake was enough evidence that this incident would shake some confidence into harsh disarray. A shinigami who is strong enough to be a captain would be an uncommon sight while someone with that power just striking down someone who is just starting out in the academy would just be unimaginable in accordance to the foulness. Even Aizen, Ichimaru and Tosen did not kill a student during their reign of betrayal, even Rihiku Hitsugaya. But it may just be coincidences that they all did not attack the students because they are nowhere near them at the time, but what happened was unforgivable. No doubt it weighed down in both their hearts to know it just happened and a veteran like Ukitake failed to stop it. "I understand." Unohana spoke as a hint to Neviah that Unohana knew what happened to her all this time.

The female shinigami who also was the one who provided the files on Kazuki Hikamori came to Unohana not long ago and told her of the situation; she even elaborated how Neviah acted during Waver's visit to that mystery girl...Terith. Ukitake told Unohana that he found that girl in the forest when a hollow attacked. She has the power unlike any kidou known by both of them...like she has a zanpakuto or something without a zanpakuto. It is something very rare from a soul. Would Unohana tell Neviah since she has not told anyone yet. Only Ukitake and Unohana knew about this and if it gets out, she would be sent to the Research Facility to find potentials and purposes. It will hurt the girl no doubt as she will be pushing her limits by Mayuri's experiments. Unohana looked onto Neviah's pure tan eyes and thought about telling her about the secret, but she has high hopes when she was going to ask about something that should be in need of her attention. Unohana does not want to ruin the moment.

Priorities set, Neviah goes first before telling Neviah of the secret. She stuttered on her request and Unohana wanted her to have some confidence in her abilities, so Unohana stays quiet and gave her a comforting look, so it tells her that it is alright to raise her voice to let it all out. If Unohana's educated guess is right, if Neviah raise her voice just a bit, she may have better confidence in speaking. All it matters now is what she wanted and everything else will have to be dealt with after her. That is the way a mother would be and will ever be.

The tone behind Unohana's voice as she responded to Neviah's claim told Neviah that Unohana already knew everything. That alone stressed Neviah a little as it was a troubling cause that makes Neviah upset to think that Unohana had to know of such a troubling situation. Yes Neviah brought safety to the injured student and the investigation was under way and whatnot, and it was out of Neviah's hands, but a small part of her wanted to track down the man that did that and she wanted to bring him forth as to remove corruption. As in Neviah's power, it's a give and take, as she takes life to give life, proven when she healed the injured student, she cut herself in which to cure the open wound on the girl. She wanted to cut him and his corruption down and heal him with the very energy taken to bring forth purity, but again, it's out of her power. Neviah didn't know the exact break down of the girl, but many measures were taken to accommodate her as she was 'different' than some cases. For one, when HER medical file was brought forth, not much information was given. When the 12th Division member showed up as to clarify if nano-technology would be needed or not, he couldn't even elaborate upon the nervous system of the girl to make exact calculations for her body structure as her energy patterns were as off flux as Neviah's making her "Unique", but for the girl "Terith" to be a Memory Rosary would be impossible, so she would have to be under another classification, but it was classified for now under Gotei Captain Level information...

Neviah looked to Unohana as she was still a little scared of everything around her, yet Unohana's expression alone and her welcoming atmosphere shouldn't give Neviah any form of anxiety, yet something within Neviah was just shaken and she couldn't really control it. For some reason she was just nervous. Maybe it was the thought that while someone was out there striking innocent people down, the very idea of it scared Neviah of thinking "What if". Like, what if Konomi was next, or maybe Unohana? That scared Neviah and she wished her Dad was there so he could remove the bad people away like he did back when she was a child. It was said that when Ceon was the 2nd Division Captain and Onmitsukido General, that Soul Society was clean and all was peaceful, but when he entered the 0 Division, that's when things broke loose once again because Ceon wasn't allowed to deal with Gotei Conflict, only Royal Family ordeals.

Neviah went back into a deep embrace with Unohana and sort of dug her head into Unohana's chest for a moment, forgetting about Unohana's hair in the way. Small whimpers and hiccups came from Neviah as she tried hard not to cry, but the stress of everything was somewhat overwhelming. She wanted to go in there to ask about perfecting the level 70 Kidou so she'll be prepared next time, but alas the thought of her history as well as recent events and Konomi not being near sort of struck. Her Father disappeared and is Wanted by Central 46 for going AWOL and leaving her behind, she's never known her real mother, Konomi was off doing emergency response, and now someone out there hurting innocent students. It was all overwhelming, and the thought that Neviah couldn't save anyone, someone she loves being hurt, or that her own Father is now a criminal just made everything so hard...

"U-U-Unoh-a-ana T-Tai--- *hic* T... Taicou..."

Neviah was now crying as she dug her face into Unohana. She was so tired, sore, and sad she didn't know what to do. Being a Vice Captain is hard, and being a Captain must be even more unbearable, but being someone of your own race, with so many expectations placed for you was something hard and unbearable. What if she wasn't or couldn't be as strong as her father? What if she was called upon and failed? Why doesn’t she know much about her Mother? Why was everything so hard? Her Father was his own Squad Captain in the Onmitsukido when he started out, and he was never under ANYONE. He was always in charge wherever he was, and Neviah couldn't possibly be as skilled as that. Also, to make matters worse, Neviah knows all TOO well that her Aunt is also Claire, the Memory Rosary of Despair and one of the most notorious killers in Existence. What if Claire showed up for Neviah and so many people died? Why was everything unbearable?

Dropping to her knees, Neviah cried deeply into the uniform of Unohana, unable to hold herself up anymore...

Was there ever going to be an answer to her questions?

Neviah became upset as she buried her face into Unohana's chest before collapsing onto her knees. Unohana caught her and gently lowered herself with Neviah. Knowing that she will no doubt be very upset over the situation. Jenna made it as clear as Yamamoto did before that no healer will accompany until it is fully investigated of what they are up against. Last time a betrayal happened, it was Radioactive and his sister. The hard hitting betrayal was when Aizen, Tosen and Ichimaru betrayed them through an elaborate lie to get closer to the throne of Heaven. Now, we're dealing with someone who is far weaker than the others, but still land a big blow as what he did was unheard of for centuries, even in Ukitake's days with Shunsui at the Academy. All that mattered now is the student is safe and Unohana is proud of Neviah for saving the student's life without needing her to be with her. Though at the same time, she wished she was there, but that is the parental feeling Unohana developed as Neviah's caretaker.

Unohana held Neviah close enough that her face is no longer in her chest, but on her shoulder. "Shh-shh-shh...It will be alright, Neviah... You're stronger than you think, otherwise Isane would not have asked me to allow you to take her position while she went to help her sister." Unohana spoke softly, giving her truth about why Isane chose her over others like Hanataro. "I had the same feeling when General Yamamoto forbade me from going with the others over 520 years ago. But sometimes being held back is a good thing, or I would have been hollowfied by Aizen long ago." Unohana spoke with her experience, remembering what happened to eight vizards; Shinji, Love, Hiyori, Rojuro, Lisa, Kensei, Mashiro and Hachigen. What happened to them first horrified her, but she later felt relieved that they are alright in the end, despite being changed permanently, even with Kisuke's help. Unohana does not know what they felt, but at the same time, Unohana does not want to experience it for herself.

The division loves Neviah, so losing her will be a big blow to the division as if they lost Unohana alone. Gently, Unohana helped Neviah back on her feet. Truthfully, Unohana has enough strength to lift Kenpachi Zaraki with one hand, but the gentleness to make anyone feel better after a few words of advice. "I have heard of your attempt to restore the student's damaged nervous system. However, she reacted sharply. It is not the kidou that caused it. I know this because the kidou is only hard because you have to focus the energy into a tight thread instead of focusing into an area, so it has naturally low power. I hypothesized that the student has a sensitivity to spiritual energy. Ukitake told me that she also was speaking to nothing before while also able to detect something specific beyond the seireitei's barrier, so these may be the symptoms to support my hypothesis." Unohana explained, knowing that it may be the one she was trying to ask about. She smiled at Neviah, implying that it is nothing to be ashamed that she did not realize this before; Unohana was with Ukitake, who has more experience with the student than anyone else.
