Overall Character Information

Personality: Prominent of her upbeat optimism, Hoshiko was beloved in the slums underneath the City of Minatumi Harbour. Although she merely works in the church as she tends to a flower garden, Hoshiko lives healthily from selling the flowers she grows and buying food for herself. She does shown intellectual values due to fact that she can take care of any flower of any difficulties, including the fabled Soul Irises. Although she is also poor and vulnerable like anyone else in the slums, Hoshiko still spends her free time visiting the sick and the elderly while helping what she could do for them to recover from their ailments. That is evidence that she is a caring woman, but evidence that she is strong-willed is apparent when she still lives in the slums instead of staying in the city where the gangs will not harass her. On a side note, she does have a problem with DEPTH-Com not only because they destroyed what was left of Old Minatumi Harbour; it is also because turned a blind eye to when the people of the slums needed them. However, she is not the kind to harbor a grudge.

Hoshiko loves seeing the vivid landscape that is brighter and more alive than the city, but she hates (more like feared) the sight of a landscape that resembles death. She does like seeing her friends happy, but does not like it when she notices her friends are facing defeat or adversity. Like it or not, Hoshiko does not mind doing what she has to so her friends can achieve their goals, even if it is to give up her freedom. What makes her sad is if she is seeing her friends getting torn apart from each other or even straying beyond her reach. What scares her is the thought that she will die alone and she has done nothing that would help her friends greatly. When it comes to corruption, it is very unlikely as Hoshiko clearly has an innocent mind and a strong sense of loyalty (though sometimes believed to be dependent of her friends.)

Note: Soul Evolution State are powers that have been awakened in humans over the many centuries of spiritually enhanced being fighting throughout Earth. Due to their constant destruction, clashes and presence on Earth, this has caused a genetic mutation in the human DNA to allow for the creation and evolution of super natural based powers. This means that some humans can even fight on par with other Shinigami based character should their tiers keep enchanting. Along with that, even the most basic level of this Soul Evolution Stage allows for humans to see spirits, levitate, run at speeds faster then the average human and things of this nature. On a more higher end, near 0 and 1 tier, some humans even have the ability their wounds, limbs, burns and even organs if given enough time to heal; fight against Espada level creatures, create their own variations of flash step, superhuman strength to demolish villages, enhanced durability and large scale energy attacks.

Background

Background: Hoshiko is born before DEPTH-Com turned her childhood hometown into slums underneath Minatumi City. While her parents are unknown other than her father being a fisherman, Hoshiko actually lives with her father’s older sister at what is now Old Minatumi Harbour. She used to have childhood friends who would play with her at the Fleet Plaza, but they disappeared mysteriously as T.A.R.N. soldiers began occupying the town. Hoshiko could not understand why and was left alone as a few people are rebelling against the occupation by T.A.R.N. She then discovered that her childhood friends are the ones, who are inciting the rebellion, but they are caught and shipped to a prison away from their home; her friends are fifteen year olds while Hoshiko was only eight at the time. In grief of their misfortune, Hoshiko did not return home to her aunt and wonders around the town as DEPTH-Com began their constructions and reconstructions.

While she was ten, she found an old church and there, she discovered an amazing sight of life; these glowing and vivid flowers that can illuminate in the upcoming darkness, the Soul Irises. Captivated by their beautiful livelihood, Hoshiko restarts her life by tending to the flowers and sells some of them for money that she can use to raise herself. However, it costs her with no education, no authority figure to recognize and no one to keep her company. She lives on with selling flowers and keeping herself from starving or getting sick while she gets cheap medical supplies for the sick and the elderly that she meets while exploring the town for ways to sell her flowers. By the time she is seventeen years old, Minatumi City became a reality and what was left of her childhood hometown ceases to be what she used to see.

With new areas to explore, Hoshiko began taking different routes between the Slums and the City. Due to rich people taking a liking to these rare flowers, Hoshiko was able to buy better medical supplies and still able to buy supplies for herself. As she lives on, she earned the reputation as the, “Flower Girl.” It was already a year and Hoshiko was constantly wary of the militia gangs that would be warring upon each other because they cannot agree about sharing the glory of handling hollows, whatever they are. Even a couple of times, she was approached by them for recruitment or robbery. No matter how hard she tries to run, the gangs always managed to steal her medical supplies that are meant for the sick and the elderly and instead use them to aid themselves in the gang war.
