This was going to be a great day for Stefan Soan, and he knew it. Honestly, it wasn't every day you would get to fight someone else highly skilled in the use of a sword, especially considering all of the weirdo's out there that don't even use weapons. Oh, and then there were element users.........whom Stefan was no fan of. He was particularly reminded of two element users, one being Colin Washi a wind element user, and the other being a douchie water and ice user. Both of whom could easily royally piss off Stefan by using those powers. This Vizard believed (and perhaps righteously so) that elemental-users would rely on said element to do all of the fighting for them instead of actually fighting in close combat, which he believed to be the best form of combat.

The person he was so interested in fighting was named Setsudan Yoryo, another Vizard Stefan had met nearly a year ago during a great battle in the very wastelands where he stood now. Though he didn't get the chance to fight the man, he did however get the chance to study him, as when he returned to the Monsuta base he found out more about him using the many files within the organizations research group. Stefan discovered that Setsudan happened to be the Colonel of the Melee division within the Vizard Corps, and also learned that he was specifically talented with swords. This information made Stefan want to challenge him, which he did by contacting him secretly with an offer he hopefully couldn't refuse: A fight against a Monsuta commander who also specialized in sword-based combat. This offer included the current date and time, and the location of where the fight would happen, which was the place where they first met. Usually Stefan didn't take interest in opponents so much, but he was so sick of the other goons he had to deal with, and wanted a real fight. Hopefully Setsudan would give him just that.

"Safety and peace to you, friend. The world is my oyster, my Ambition pure and true. And I know that as I continue, my blade will guide my path."

"Bother, bother, bother. Bother, bother, bother." It was exceptionally difficult for one such as this male to enjoy his day, especially when he was called out to some sort of 'battle' in this wasteland. Closing his eyes and sighing softly, one would see the young Vizard sitting, back against a dead tree, slowly picking away at his shamisen. Unlike most Vizards that one would be able to meet, this male seemed calm, at ease, a soft smile on his face. Sure, he was going to be fighting against some strange man from within the Monsuta today--apparently by the name of Stefan Soan--a name he had heard before, but never really spoken of. He'd asked Zin about it, and simply gotten a reply of 'who?'. Simple enough, of course. Chuckling softly, Setsudan would shake his head and sigh. "Such misfortune..." Placing the Shamisen at his side, the Vizard slowly got to his feet and pulled Daireiseki-kan up with him. A soft hum came from the blade as it tried to take in the surroundings, leaving Setsudan to just laugh. "Don't worry yourself, Kojiro. Things will occur soon enough."

Of course, soon enough was about five seconds later, when a male came traipsing into the vision of the male. Aha. Shaking his head and muttering internally, Setsudan took a singular step forwards and stared quietly at the other. Green hair and all. "I take it that your name is Stefan Soan, the one who has challenged me to this battle? If I may: what is your reasoning for such a fight?" Honestly curious, the man placed his hands onto his hips, the sword that sat at a metre and a half streaming out behind him as he did so. It was a risk, simply talking with the enemy. However, that sort of risk was a simple one, and one that he was willing to take in the end. The smile on his face was quietly confident, though also worried. What was the purpose of such a battle? It confused him, no end.

Subject Post 3PostSubject: Re: Discordibus Laminis   Fri Jul 06, 2012 7:25 am

After a little bit longer, Stefan finally laid his eyes upon his future opposite combatant, the man he would enjoy fighting. The man, whose purple hair's length made him seem almost feminine in appearance, surprisingly looked as if he was wondering why he had been summoned there. Honestly, wasn't it obvious? It was at least obvious to Stefan. Seeing him again...it reminds me, he doesn't seem to have the warrior's heart. Perhaps...another part of him does, Stefan thought to himself as he walked closer to the man. He was prepared for an assault upon himself, knowing how other Visoreds could be, yet he also tried to look as calm as ever, for in a way, he was calm. You see, even in combat Stefan is calm, for he enjoys the thrill of the fight, though he doesn't let it take him over. After listening to Setsudan speak, Stefan began to answer his questions.

"In all honestly, I would have thought you would know why I asked you here. Usually people understand that the reason I challenge them to a fight is because I simply want to fight them. It appears as though your instincts don't immediately bring you to that realization, so allow me to make myself very clear. I want to fight you because I want to fight you. It really is that simple. Yes, I am Stefan Soan, and yes I know you are Setsudan Yoryo, but I want to know more. I want to understand your reflexes, I want to understand your sword, your Zanpakutō, and the only true way I'll be able to understand you is by our swords clashing in the heat of the moment. Now, I am not one to sit and chit chat, so how about we just begin?"

The last sentence of his speech was less of a question and more of a declaration, that combat would begin, and their lives would be up for grabs. Combat to Stefan was a beautiful thing, a glorious, yet fleeting, series of moments where in each moment one could lose themselves to the steel bite of their adversary, never being able to walk away again. With a twinkle in his bright green eyes, Stefan picked the black cane he had been using up and brought it in front of him, holding it horizontally. After grabbing the long part of it with his left hand, he grabbed the handle with his right and began to pull, revealing it was no ordinary cane, but instead an actual sword, his Zanpakutō no less. One could tell it was his Zanpakutō due to the energy almost identical to Stefans radiating from it, though it didn't seem to possess a Hollow-like energy within it, being the clear difference between it and Stefan himself. After drawing his blade, he pointed the tip at Setsudan, challenging him to make the first move.

"Come, prove to me I did right in calling you here."

"Safety and peace to you, friend. The world is my oyster, my Ambition pure and true. And I know that as I continue, my blade will guide my path."

"Now, I am not one to sit and chit chat, so how about we just begin?" A sigh left his lips. Standing there, eyes slightly closed, Setsudan almost looked bored with how Stefan was acting. He had stood there and watched Stefan carefully, making directly sure to listen to every word in this little spiel of his. So, as he had been told, Stefan was looking for a fight against a true swordsman--one that would allow him to completely understand the meaning of the opponent's blade? Tch. Closing his eyes completely, Setsudan let loose another sigh and reached down to his side, gripping the hilt of the blade with a soft smile across his lips. Truth be told; it was rare for him to have any real challenges in this day and age. For some reason, most of his fights ended up being against opponents who specialized in using energy-based abilities--something that Setsudan had little use of. A true clash of blades was something that he had desired for quite some time. Letting a long breeze of air wash over his body and ripple the pale blue clothing on his figure, he stepped forwards as Stefan drew the blade from his cane.

It was an interesting function for a weapon--to be hidden within a staff, a cane, something that was rarely used in battle. In fact, it was so interesting that Setsudan almost found himself entranced by such a function; he would shake that off, however. Instead, he raised his eyes to meet Stefan's in a calm and collected visage. "I want to fight you because I want to fight you." Stefan's words repeated themselves in his head. A fight, simply for the sake of fighting? It was something that left a bad taste in this Vizard's mouth, but he would allow that to happen for the sake of fighting. Maybe, just maybe, he would find a true challenge--a swordsman that equalled him in prowess. Maybe, he would even find a person who surpassed him, making it his goal to improve in skill and take back the position of power. In fact, the entire idea completely enticed Setsudan. Maybe he would let this happen. Just once. Just... to allow it to continue.

Having moved on from Stefan's face, Setsudan's eyes went to the blade in his hand. Unlike the cane itself, the sword was rather simple. The handle was as normal as the cane should be--strange, then, that it was disguising a weapon. Well, it wasn't like Setsudan tried to hide his own weapon--in fact, the blade being hidden would be an amazing achievement for the man. "Come, prove to me I did right in calling you here." The look on his face--he wanted Setsudan to make the first move, huh? Well, he would certainly oblige. Sighing once more, Setsudan slowly drove a foot backwards into the dirt, placing both hands onto the blade of Daireiseki-kan and raising it up beside his face--a position known as 最初の連続 {Saisho no Renzoku}. Aesthetically similar to his standing stance for Tsubame Gaeshi--this position was intended to be used in the very beginning of battle, when the game was only just about to begin. "I suppose that I should oblige you." As soon as he was in the correct position, Setsudan pushed off of the ground, charging directly for Stefan with a confident smirk on his face. As soon as he reached into his successful range of attack, his foot was quickly planted, Setsudan rapidly regaining his original position of Saisho no Renzoku and moving the blade around in a quick motion, almost like that of a fencing sabre; releasing the grip on one hand and sliding it around. If Stefan were to block his attack, Setsudan would take advantage of the momentary loss of advancing from his opponent, quickly changing directions with the sword (that was surprisingly fast to move, despite being visually unwieldy) and attacking from the other direction. If the attack were to hit Stefan's body--an outcome that Setsudan doubted--the he would pull the sword back and try a similar attack at a lower position. Right now was the very first stage of battle, so Setsudan would be expending as little energy as possible in his movements, instead trying to force Stefan to keep his guard up and exert his energy, as well as testing his reflexes and blind-points. This would continue until he felt that he had enough of a mental advantage.

"Let us see how this story ends..."

Did the man standing before Stefan not consider him being a skillful user of his says, scabbard? Even if he didn't, Stefan had no doubt in his mind he would at least be prepared for such a style; but it did not bother him much, for he would use his says to his up most in the beginning of the fight, not wanting to use his true style till later on. As Setsudan's blade reached Stefan, his sheath-holding arm shot out and blocked the potential hit with it, following up by crpuching low and attempting a wide sweeping blow with the actual sword going from left to right, attempting to either force his opponent to jump, or force him to back up after his quick assault. Using the potential advantage gained from his last swing, Stefan followed up by shooting forward and aiming a glancing left-hand blow using his Zanpakutō's scabbard at Setsudans head, then attempted a speedy, yet forceful, stab with his blade. His sword, Vague Katti, appeared to glow purple as it heard Setsudans chest.

Predicting a dodge, the seaweed-haired warrior launched himself into the air, his left leg a spring. Utilizing his position of being above his opponent, Stefan employed his Kakuten skill, dropping his scabbard, which promptly disappeared into purple energy, Stefan held Vague Katti with both of his strong, yet gentle, hands and struck with a powerful downwards slash. Assuming the hit was blocked, Stefan quickly shunpo'd away and stood on the ground again, positioned low with his sword in its scabbard again. He gripped the hilt of his Zanpakutō with his right hand and the scabbard just below the area where the hilt meets it with his left hand. As though he was about to stomp down, he raised his right foot off the ground; and then promptly brought it back down again, creating a large, quick-moving fissure in the ground, heading straight towards his opponent. As the fissure ran along the ground, extremely thick dust was launched off the untouched surface of the Earth, acting as a fog to lower the visibility of Stefan to Setsudan, which he used to his advantage. Leaping off the ground, Stefan shunpo'd to Stetaudsan's position, coming at him from above and to Setsudan's right.Slashing diagonally, Stefan aimed to unbalance his for in order to follow up with a heavy blow using the scabbard which had just reappeared in his left hand, the blow landing on Setsudsan's right hip. Afterwards, Stefan aimed a flurry of blows at his enemy: diagonally from below, a heavy scabbard hit to Setsudan's head, a straight up slice, and then a quick stab with his Zanpakutō. To finish it, Stefdan gripped his cane sword tightly with his right hands and struck the ground, dragging the tip from left to right inbetween him and his opponent. The hit was strong enough to cause a miniature explosion, launching up chunks of tough, brown rock in every which way. Using on of the particularly large boulders as a launch pad, Stefan shot himself away from his purple-haired for, which actually caused the sedimentary rock itself to launch at Setsudan, acting as though it was just shot from a cannon.

"I love sword fights, but I'm the type to use the environment to my advantage! You should too!"
