The Midnight Hour MikomiBar

The night was a dark one, seemingly thick and clogging. It was choking, swallowing and would even suffocate. Twin tails of black flipped in the air, as the footsteps of the girl echoe'd on the ground. The puddles splashed, as she ran, sensing lives. It was strange ; even as a plus, she had a basic sense of power and of understanding. There had been a dangerous hollow around these parts ; the girl had clashed with it, and escaped. That's why she was out here, aiming to draw it away from the city, into the barrier so that it could get zapped. But tonight, people had other plans. The girl heard the hollow move elsewhere, and cursed, before running towards where it was. She had gotten a good sense ; but she was lost at this point. The woods were confusing ; rather the rain and the darkness made it a perfect hunting ground for the hollow. The girl clutched the katana at her side tighter. This was her human blade, able to be wielded by spirits. She had requested it that way, to the surprise of her parents ; it was a just in case measure. It was a good thing she had done so too, as the girl took a breath, holding the blade close to her.

The howl it made now, was terrifying. But she would not stand down. After waiting a few moments, a crack resounded in the area. That's when she turned and ran, her hair a bit matted from the rain. Her breaths were fast and shallow, as she heard the water splash. That was her foot steps ; she was still affecting the real world as a plus. But she kept running ; she couldn't fight it here, in the woods. Echoes of fighting lanced around, as she stopped, leaning against a tree, waiting. The blade was at her side ; she would not flinch easily. After all, the summit of her human powers were with the blade, as she waited, her body steady against the bark. Slowly and surely, she knew that the hollow would come ; but would it come alone or with many? She needed a better idea, and thus, she was here, hiding, supressing herself. She wondered why it ran off, but she couldn't help but pray for any soul it had consumed. She felt apologetic, but if they could not escape or defend themselves, then they wouldn't have needed their help.

Cold, but she had to be. She had to make sure she stayed safe in order to guard her family. Shisome.. that girl was at her heart. From what she could tell from the ashes of their home, she was the only one alive. Since her parents had marked their births with a sort of clock, and as they died, it would disappear. Only two hands reminded ; one was Shisome's. But who's was the other? She could not recall the name.. but it no longer matter. She could hear it, cracking in the under brush, as the girl readied herself to counter it if needed. She had to be safe ; she had to be alive. To continue her family's hopes and expectations.

Giriko was ragged and tired and, for lack of better terminology, pissed off. The young boy, the word young being used incredibly relatively when it came to beings of not entirely human composition, was pelting through the sky toward the wayward soul. He had finally found her after his team was slaughtered and his pride dismantled and he fought an opponent who rather clearly outmatched him. It had been a long and emotionally trying last couple of hours, days, weeks, et cetera and Giriko was elated that he finally had some constructive progress that he could take back to soul society as some form of redemption for the colossal failure that was his first expedition in to the Human World. It wasn’t the plus he felt, but the howl that reverberated through the night sky and the sheer amount of reiatsu that the monster was emanating was like a beacon. Giriko knew it was after the plus and all he had to do was use it to find the spirit for him. At least…that’s what the plan was in his head. In all likelihood the hollow was going to beat him to the plus and eat it before he had a chance to send it on to the other world.

Giriko landed quietly on a dirt path, a look of tired ferocity in his eyes as he glared at the horizon as his hand drifted down to his side, his fingers wrapping around the hilt of his blade as he heard the thunderous steps of the behemoth like monster that had claimed the lives of his team. Only one other being in any plane of existence had seen that look of utter detestment on his features and it wasn’t a look that most people could endure. It was a perfect example of “if looks could kill.” Giriko’s ability to sense spirits however was never, ever his strong suit and given that the girl was specifically trying to hide, which was a capacity Giriko wasn’t aware pluses had in the first place, the boy was completely oblivious to her location, her location ten feet from him. The girl was hiding and obstructed from his view but the inverse wouldn’t be the case. If Giriko was genuinely looking, finding her would not be at all difficult, but his eyes were fixated on where the hollow was approaching from as the sound of scraping metal reverberated through the area as the small tanto was withdrawn from its sheath, Giriko was ready to end this.

A presence ; the girl didn't expect the sudden sound of sandals in the water. Her body remained hidden behind the tree ; the tension in her was strong. But she had this feeling ; that this was not something to be afraid of. Thought, she knew that person was there ; and that threw off her plan. She wanted to curse under her breath ; but already, the girl was moving. With a limber action, she managed to get into the tree, ready to jump out. The hollow's screams were echoing, terrifyingly against the woods. Her blade was easily drawn without a sound. She was good at this ; the blade was the one she had trained with, fought with and died with. It was her blade, as the girl took in a deep breath. Even though she was a plus? She probably still had good capabilities. She also had her anima stone ; but she didn't have the energy to access it at this point. But the black haired girl knew one thing ; this hollow was strong, and most of all? In her way. The scent of dried blood hit her nose through the rain. To even smell that was a credit at how foul the beast smelled. Her body trembled, but not out of fear. No, why would she be afraid? She had a fight right before her. The girl felt her lips curve, as the blade was connecting to her. Yes, this blade was the cause of that excitement.

It was howling for blood, for battle. The girl waited until it was within sight of the figure, male she caught out of the corner of her eye, and her body pushed. Suddenly, she was existent ; she made noise. ''HIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!'' her voice echoed in the reign, deafening, defiant. The blade moved in the little light, slashing at the creature. Her body fell to the side, and she rolled, avoiding it's next strike ; she had to. The creature was an enemy, and it aimed to devour her, as she blocked a strike, the hardened steel like flesh against the blade, causing sparks. Disengaging the block, she ran under, and slashed again. Deeper this time, as blood gushed out, the girl dancing back. She was a good fighter ; after all, in her life, she had made it her duty to battle. She was dedicated ; and focused. The girl moved away from strikes, using her agility to keep it out of her reach. She was just a plus ; but the finesse of her combative state as a human? Still remained ingrained in her soul. The girl landed near the boy, as she shot him an easy going grin. ''You'll be a picket if you keep standing there.'' she simply said. The clawed handle of the katana looked absolutely demonic in this light ; but the blade itself was beautiful. Even as she was covered in the hollow's blood, she didn't seem to be perturbed.

That was when he would more then likely notice that she was the plus he was looking for, as her blade didn't waver. She was determined.. and the hollow was enraged, more then likely. But she wasn't worried ; it was going to come at them.. and she wasn't alone, as the girl's body relaxed a bit, and yet still was ready for action. She was used to fighting, hence her lack of panic ; hollows had been easy when she was human. The girl was used to being a purifying executioner ; it was her role in Yakume's shrine. But.. now? She was on her own, and yet she still carried that grace. She just hoped she got to the Soul Society just fine, as long as this Shinigami didn't majorly screw up.

The Midnight Hour Empty Re: The Midnight Hour

Mon Dec 10, 2012 11:36 pm
Giriko sensed things unfolding around him before he saw them. Ignoring his relative lack talent for sensing spirit energy, Giriko was very much so talented when it came to sensing disturbances in the air around him. He felt the hollow in many ways bounding toward him, both from the enormous amount of reishi it was pumping out combined with the obnoxious amount of air it was displacing and disturbing. He had expected all of that from the creature, this wasn’t news nor was it especially exciting. The look on Giriko’s face was one of cold, callous, angry determination and he had nothing on his mind that did not relate in some way to butchering the monster rampaging toward him. At least, for the moment, because a second disturbance rifled through the air, Giriko’s head snapped up in to the air as he watched a humanoid form dart over him and in to the little clearing, almost synchronized with the hollow meandering out in to the open. Giriko watched in…well…rather perturbed silence as the girl darted toward his mark and engaged in a flourishing little bit of blade work and darted around the creature and, while impressive, even a child could tell that their levels of spiritual energy were worlds apart, the girl wouldn’t have a chance on her own and Giriko was beginning to notice why. The more he watched her move, the more he noticed what she was, the chain on her chest, the faint spirit energy, the fact that she could even see the hollow. The girl was the plus he was sent after. As she bounced away from the hollow the look of pure rage and annoyance turned to one more akin to furious concern. He glared at her face as the hollow bounced around like he stepped on a tack and she said something that did not make any sort of sense whatsoever before she turned back to the hollow, turning her back on the young Giriko. He couldn’t let this fight drag on with her nearby, he couldn’t truly make this hollow suffer like he wanted to and make sure she was safe, so instead, he was going to end this quickly. With the girl’s eyes off him, Giriko silently chanted to himself, his voice dripping with hate as he glared at the beast as it gained its bearings.

“Damnit, I’m not short, Ikarutori.”

Giriko’s Zanpakutō seemed to even let out a howl of rage as it released and before the girl would even have a chance to realize that Giriko was talking before the Zanpakutō, now a gigantic axe whose height easily eclipsed both of the humanoid creatures, hurtled through the air above them and, in a flash, cleaved the gigantic hollow cleanly in two, horizontally through its hollow hole. A moment later, the small boy seemed to suddenly appear in the air in front of the top half of the hollow, fury in his eyes as he cocked his right fist by his ear. Girikio was going to completely obliterate this monster, nothing would be left. A furious howl escaped him as his fist thrust forward and funneled all of his rage in to the next Kidō he was going to unleash at the creature.

“Hadō number 30, Sho!”

Sho, typically the weakest Hadō, was a specialty of Giriko’s and he was capable of fluctuating its power to be equivalent to any other Kidō and in this case, he had elevated it to the utmost that he was capable. As his fist shot forward, a massive concussive force erupted from his fast, the full culmination of all of his and Ikarutori’s rage rushing forth and completely eradicating the hollow in front of him. The blast itself, having been angled slightly downward, crashed furiously in to the ground and proceeded to completely devastate the earthen landscape, seemingly shredding craters in its way as it continued along the ground for a good twenty or so meters. The end result was a vaporized hollow and a trail of destruction that looked like an asteroid ravagedd the country side.

Giriko, after unleashing the rather potent blast, dropped quietly down to the ground, landing deftly on what was left of the untarnished ground as he stared at the remains of the fight. He had successfully avenged those three idiots and while it didn’t really bring him any sense of peace or closure, there was a certain grim satisfaction to be found. The boy let out a small grimace at the thought before turning on the girl. There was a definite anger to be found in the miniscule boy’s figure. If she had went and gotten herself killed, their deaths would have been completely meaningless. Completely, and utterly, meaningless. Ikarutori reverted to its tanto form as the boy turned and made his way toward the girl, his voice decidedly not of the inside variety.

“What the hell were you thinking, you idiot? That thing could have torn you apart! What the hell is wrong with you?”

The Midnight Hour MikomiBar

The girl let out a sigh ; obviously the male hadn't understood her well-meaning words. In a sense? She had simply told him to move since just standing there would get him killed. The black haired girl heard the creature howling, but her gaze was intent, serious and would not betray any sort of weakness to the sound. Although in truth? It more then likely terrified her in some part. She knew that, but the girl stood stout ; she would not let this thing get the best of her. The Saihossoku knew she was more then likely weaker then the creature, but did that matter? She may be weaker, but she had the heart of dozens, the sacrifices of many and the expectations of an entire family. Her fingers didn't tremble ; she gripped the blade tighter, as she was ready to move again. The tenseness in her shoulders ; the light set of her jaw. It was a stubbornness that was expected out of her family ; many had understood that to their own perils. And Mikomi was not one to stand by, as she noted the male moving into something. Her gaze, the black flashing with hints of murky blood, stared at him, as if observing him. A bit shameless, but she was considering all the factors for her next move. Her face showed thoughts fluttering across her mind, due to having an expressive face.

However, she sensed a bit of a peak in spiritual energy. Her head tilted up ; she had been a powered human before her death, so the sensing of energy didn't necessarily just vanished.. it weakened. The girl's eyes widened, as she realized just how much energy was in there ; and before she could move to stop him, the male had unleashed a blast. The strength was such that it left craters in the ground, and the girl stared with an almost sad gaze ; the hollow had been vaporized, but that wasn't the cause of her sadness. How many plants, and animals had he just killed, for the sake of unleashing a powerful blow? The girl felt pity for the lives that many humans discarded, and as that mournful gaze lifted up the male's, she could feel a bit of a tug. Yes, to humans, their companion's lives meant more then the other lives sprouting around them ; that was normal. But the plus still felt a bit sad at that. She softly lifted her hand, straightening the blade, and with a soft, swiping motion, slid it back into her sheath, as the blade ran along the inside of her thumb. It didn't cut it, but the use would ; it was the scar of a swordsman to say the least. The girl sighed as the demonic like hilt clicked, the relief striking across her face vividly. She had been afraid ; when the girl had drawn the blade, a wild fear had shown on her face, and remained in shadows.

However, turning towards the male, she let off a bright smile, a smile that was utterly pure and gentle. ''I did what anyone would do ; I jumped in to help someone in need.'' she just said softly. Her gaze was not hurt, nor angry, nor even remorseful. Although her words were gentle, there was a quiet determination behind them. She knew she did the right thing ; that was what the plus knew at heart. ''After all, you were ready to do something by yourself, so I figured if you had enough courage to do so, I would aid you.'' she said, clearly. Approaching the male, she found herself almost giggling. Because in fact? The male was shorter then her. Somewhere around three, to four inches. That's what she could tell from a look ; she was around 5'6 last she knew. But the giggles were one of a kind, almost happy discovery, as she tilted her head, shooting another smile at the male. ''I'm called Mikomi. And you are?'' she said, slowly taking the glasses out of her pocket ; and with that, she slipped them back onto her face, giving her a more wide, innocent look. But now she had approached the male and was about five to six feet away from him. She did kind of want to hug him, to thank him, but the Saihossoku wasn't sure if she should, with the male's body shaking like that. So the girl just settled for the middle ground introduction.

That was the least she could do, if he came all the way out here to help her, right?.

Giriko wasn’t really able to appreciate the sense of closure there was to be found in eradicating the creature that had ended his subordinates’ lives. They weren’t coming back, the hollow wasn’t still around to suffer, and Giriko sure as hell was still angry. He wanted his mistake erased, he wanted through three idiots back alive, he wanted them to be able to keep prattling on about how worthwhile their lives were and how they were going to be captains someday and how they’d be running Seireitei or whatever other impertinent nonsense they could drum up. He also wanted the hollow to suffer, painfully, intimately, to rip its arms and legs off and flog it to death with them. He wanted nothing more than to make that soul feel every waking pang of pain it inflicted upon his men and then he wanted to increase it tenfold. It was probably for the best that the girl was here to prevent him from doing such things however. He chose to take the path that absolutely made sure the girl would be safe and it prevented him from fully enacting what his heart truly wanted to do at that moment and such an act would be very unbecoming of who he fundamentally wanted to be in addition of being rather unbecoming of a Shinigami. Whatever closure or solace he could enjoy however was quickly being silenced by the girl in front of him.

Giriko had his angry tendencies despite being, ultimately, a kind, caring, thoughtful individual and there was an awkward conflict between the two going on in his head right now. He wanted to help the plus, he wanted to comfort her, he wanted to be there for her, he wanted to help her transition toward her new life in soul society…but the girl’s cavalier attempt at just disregarding a hollow attack was beyond infuriating and even after she was yelled at for her special brand of carelessness and stupidity she just smiled at him warmly and acted like anyone would run head first in to a gigantic monster. What in the world was wrong with this girl? Giriko’s tanto hung loosely out of his fingertips, swinging precariously near the ground as he stared at her, mouth agape and confused irritation plastered rather entirely across his face. Surprisingly however, the giggle that escaped her produced the opposite effect that one would have assumed. It didn’t invoke further rage from Giriko, like it probably should have since it signified her continuing to not grasp the severity of her situation and just how close she was to ceasing to exist there, instead it caused an exasperated smile to form on Giriko’s face as Ikarutori finished falling out of his hand, landing on the ground with a soft thud. Giriko’s body would follow with it, the weight of all his trouble, from the death of his men to his fight with Fantasia to dealing with the hollow, it all felt like it just left him, if only for a moment, as the boy fell backward and landed on the soft ground, his back creating a soft thud on impact.

“Atoshi Giriko.”

Giriko would softly pat a spot on the ground near him, signaling the girl to come sit down near him. The chain on her was an obvious sign that she was the plus he was looking for and there was one more thing he had to do before he could say his mission was complete. A small sigh escaped him as he tilted his head slightly to look at her, his expression considerably softer than it had been but a few moments ago. This was always the hardest part for him, he never knew how to explain to someone that they died and that there was a “better” place for them. Giriko knew that wasn’t always true. He had no idea how she’d be born over on the other side and he of all people knew that not all of Soul Society was especially welcoming, where he grew up being one of the foremost offenders of the unwelcoming committee. So he would, not especially tactfully, jump right in to it.

“I am a Shinigami…do you know what you are?”

The male was to just stare at her, confused. Mikomi felt a bit awkward ; did she say something weird again? She observed him a bit more, noting he was still confused and irritated ; at least she could assume that from the expression on his face. The girl was frowning a bit, now confused herself. Did she do something wrong? That was not necessarily something that was good was it? The Saihossoku was now trying to figure out exactly what was wrong. She wasn't quite sure what the male had gone or went through, but it was a bit confusing her. The girl's frown started to give place to a more worried expression. She noted his almost shaky movement, and then her eyes went to his hand. The male's blade dropped with a soft thunk, the blade sinking lightly into the ground, as he himself began to fall backwards. Mikomi didn't have to think twice ; her entire body was yelling to help him. The girl pushed her foot off the ground, and flew beside him, attempting to catch him. However, she didn't make it fast enough, and he slipped through her fingers. The pain that flashed on her face was on the border of panic, and absolute guilt ; the girl felt her entire body shake with denial at the fact that she had failed to help. What if he was unconcious? What if he cracked his head on the ground?

Her body fell beside him, dropping to her own knees, her hands on the ground as she leaned over him. The hands landed on each side of his head, as if she didn't watch her fall. But she was worried, the look in her eyes almost full of absolute worry. In fact, if one looked, tears were forming at the edge of her eyes ; she was that worried about someone else. Mikomi had always wanted to help others ; and she would always help those that helped themselves. This man had stood against his own emotions ; she could tell that much. That there had been a struggle within him. She could only assume it was from emotions, but she couldn't necessarily tell exactly what. But he had fought something inside of him, and for that? The girl wanted to help him whole-heartedly. Her fingers curled into the dirt, as her katana lay in her other hand, kept close to her as always. She had heard his name, and he patted beside him, as if for her to sit. The girl's eyes widenned, as a relieved smile touched her face, a tear softly escaping from the corner of her eye. ''Thank you, Giriko-kun.'' she said softly, her voice gentle, and absolutely radiant. The plus was beyond relieved that the male was alright, as she took a shaking breath, the tear slipping from her face to splatter on his cheek. He had honestly scared her to death ; it had been frightening to say the least.

The girl wouldn't have been sure what to do if he had been seriously harmed. Guilt was obviously the first thought to come to mind, as she moved back, sliding back to a seating position on her knees. Placing the sheathed blade across her lap, the girl took in a calming breath, as one hand wiped away the tears from her eyes. Like this? She looked almost like a miko, as the chain on her chest clinked. The chain was shorter then most, having maybe three to four links. It was a miracle that she even avoided hollowfication for this long, as she tilted her head, and softly smiled at the male, grateful. ''Yes, I know what a Shinigami is. I realize that I have died.. and I am a Plus. As to how I died? I don't know. But I can't go yet ; I still have something to do.'' she said softly. Her voice held her warm, rich tones ; but there was a serious determination in the underneath. A stubbornness that would be hard to sway ; she had a duty in this world, and she was determined to see it through, no matter what. This was something she had been born with ; she was surely capable of accomplishing this duty, wasn't she? She was expected to ; and until she saw Shisome alive and well, and understood where the rest of her family was? She was not going to give up her plus life easily.

Even with that, however, the girl turned her head towards Giriko. ''I hope you understand that I probably won't allow myself to go to Soul Society just yet. I have to finish what I started ; and for that, I need to find my family. So unless you can convince me, force me or wish to join me, I suspect our encounter may be shorter then the hare's efforts.'' she said. The girl's words may appear weird, but she was strangely serene ; she didn't want to start a fight. She just smiled at the male ; if he truly wanted her to go to Soul Society, she may not deny him. The Plus could tell, relatively, that something had happened ; and from that? It was probably something that made him suffer.. so if he was suffering, she wanted to help him. And if her safety was that important, she may even consider abandoning her expectation. However? She would continue it in the place beyond ; the only reason she even considered stopping was the fact she was having no result what so ever, particularly after all this time. How long as it been? Four years? It was indeed impressive, as she let out a breath, her form swaying just a little bit. She wasn't sure.. but she wanted to do what was best for everyone. In fact, Giriko is the first person she had stopped and talked to all this time. That was a surprising thought.

And in a way, she didn't want to let him down.

She was an amusing girl. As Giriko was falling backwards, he felt her move through the air, the subtle disturbances caused by the displacing air and matter were all he needed to detect movement and get an accurate picture of just what the movement was that he was feeling. Even without looking at her, Giriko could tell that she was rushing forward to catch him and he wasn’t really sure why. She had just seen what he was capable of; did she really think that little fall was going to do anything at all to him? He typically managed to accrue more injury getting out of bed in the morning, falling delicately on grass wouldn’t hurt a normal person much less a Shinigami. So she was either incredibly attracted to him and just wanted to touch him or she was genuinely the kind of person who jumped at the first sign of anything even vaguely related to trouble for the sake of helping others. While admirable, the second line of thought was inevitably going to land her with a sense of trouble when she got to soul society. Giriko stared up at her pretty eyes as she leaned over him, fussing over whatever injury she had assumed he had acquired on the fall down, his eyes a mix of confusion and amusement as he stared back in to her eyes with a slight smile on his face. As she thanked him and plopped down beside him, her look of worry being quickly replaced with one of rather radiant happiness, Giriko slightly turned his head to keep looking up at her, a bemused smile still painted across his face.

For a time, Giriko would simply watch her, quietly, as she responded to his actions and words. He’d note the crying, not all that surprising considering how badly she had freaked out at the effects of gravity, and watch as she formulated her response to his question and quite frankly, at this point it wasn’t a surprising answer. Most people would have reacted with more shock at everything that had happened, without knowing what a hollow was her reaction to one wouldn’t have been to brazenly charge at it with a sword. He had already figured she knew what he was and probably considerably more about the spirit world on top of that. As she spoke though, his mind still paying attention to and absorbing her words, his eyes were drawn to the chain protruding from her chest. He knew he had taken too long, too long to find her, too long to kill the hollow, too long to do his job. At the thought, Giriko also felt a pang of guilt. If only he wasn’t such a terrible shinigami, this stuff wouldn’t have happened. As she finished speaking, Giriko would slowly pick himself up off the ground, a somewhat solemn look in his eyes as he turned toward the girl, his finger slowly stretching out before poking her square in the forehead. The boy would then drag his finger down her nose, past her lips, and down her chest before it rested gently on the spirit chain, or what was left of it, protruding from her.

“If you know what I am, chances are, you know what this is. If you do, you know you don’t have much time left in that body. I don’t know what you need to accomplish, but if you haven’t already, I doubt you’re going to as you are now. Unless you want to be the same hideous, deformed monstrosity and have me blow you to smithereens too, you need to move on to Soul Society. Besides…if you haven’t accomplished it by now it means you don’t have the power to do so…if you know what I am you know what the possibilities are.”

Giriko figured the not especially subtle allusion to her submitting to shinigami training would be enough to save her soul, at least if she adhered to logical process. If she didn’t, then he’d have to force her. He couldn’t in good conscience leave her on the Earth. If a hollow didn’t eat her the second he turned away, she’d be the one eating people. It was a lose/lose situation for Giriko if she stayed here, he needed to send her on.

The male seemed to take in her words, softly and even more so with seriousness. He let her speak, which was really nice of him; she liked that of him already. Not a lot of people would actually listen to others; that's why people fought and often times, forgot their duties to become happy and make others around them happy. He looked to be very in thought, as she suddenly felt a poke on a forehead. This startled the girl, and she let out a small squeak, before her cheeks blushed. Gah! She was always like this when people caught her off guard! The male's finger traveled down her face, tickling a bit as the girl scrunched up her nose and twitched her lips at the ticklish feeling. And suddenly, right on her Spirit Chain: his finger touched it, making her body twitch, and her chest bounce in response to his poke. It was odd, the feelings that came out of her spirit chain. It was like a hyper-sensitive part to herself, and it was just.. really, really weird. The girl watched how serious he was; how much he held this to his heart. Mikomi was not a selfish girl; she had a duty, yes, but she would not in a single-minded fashion drive herself to the point of insanity for it. She had a much broader mind, and understood what he inferred. As a Shinigami hm? He wanted her to do better, to go above and beyond, and more so, he wanted her to not eat other people. That's what she understood from it; and Mikomi was always very considerate of others. She knew how little time she had, the girl understood that, as she closed her black eyes, her mind thinking through everything. Although the girl knew she had a bigger sense of self then most, there was no guarantee that she could keep it through a hollow transformation. There was just none; and that in itself was the terrifying thought. In fact, she had begun to debate to herself, lately, if she had been right in staying so long.

She wasn't a location bound plus; but outside of the shrine area near here? It was crawling with hollows. It was a bit dangerous, as the girl let out a breath. She knew what she was going to do, because her heart just could not see him make that sad, serious face at her anymore. She wanted to see him smile more, the soft smiles he had already given her a gentle memory. The black haired girl figured that he would look so much better if he could smile even more. So perhaps.. she should give him another reason to smile, right? ''Hm.. you make excellent points..'' she said softly, her fingers brushing some dust off the top of her skirt. The blade was nestled against her, and she knew that she could not leave it; but if he used his Konsai on her? She would have to leave it behind. That was almost just as concerning; this blade, left for others to freely take it? Or more so, the second it was away from her, something bad would happen. The girl knew that much. ''Though.. I may have to decline.'' she began, and raised her head to meet his again, as it had lowered in thought. A hand rose to her chest, and softly wrapped around his hand, a comforting hold. ''But, I am sure we can come to an agreement.'' she added, letting another one of her radiant smiles slip from her lips. She didn't want him to feel scared or like she was rejecting him; not at all!

''I would have to ask if there's any other way but Konsai to enter the Rukongai. Simply because I cannot be apart from my blade. It's not really a question of can or cannot, more like absolutely unable. There's a reason for that of course.. but. That would be my only condition.'' she said, smiling again, as her eyes closed with it. And softly, she brought his hand to her lips, and gently kissed it. ''Thank you, for caring for someone like me so much. For others. I'm sure that whatever has made you sad is because of such a kind heart.'' she said from nowhere, something inside of her wanting to compliment the male. It wasn't a bad feeling, as she opened her eyes again and then breathed out so softly. ''So, you may not want to tell me what weighs on your heart so heavily.. but I will listen if you wish to do so.'' she added as well, finishing her statements. There was a sense that she felt shy, of course, but she was happy. Why? Perhaps for the first time in four, long years, she could make someone happy with actions she took. Rather then to make people scared, or make them do something, maybe, just maybe, she could make them happy. That was definitely something that Mikomi wanted to do, as she smiled still.

Yes, because her love knew no bounds, neither did her kindness.

The Midnight Hour Empty Re: The Midnight Hour

Giriko watched her face carefully, his finger still pressing, urgently against the metal chain in her chest, hoping the pressure would serve as a consistent reminder of the danger she faced. It wouldn't, of course, despite his brain hopefully convincing himself of it's potential. He knew this girl was stubborn, she was stupid on top of it. Perhaps that wasn't fair, stupid might not be the most fair terminology, but she was dumb enough to stare down a hollow without backup that could very easily rip her apart and if the certainty of being digested in to nothingness that accompanied that didn't phase her, then he wasn't so sure she would give up whatever fool errand she was on before the remainder of her time elapsed. It was especially annoying because she looked like she was finally beginning to accept the finality of the only path available to her for a moment too, even when she grabbed his hand touching her chain he felt sort confident in his persuasive powers, even if her touch made him a little warm and uncomfortable, but then she completely ruined it by turning him down. She said something about needing to keep close to her blade, which was didn't make much sense to Giriko, he could always just bring it to her once she was on the other side couldn't he? He wasn't sure what was stopping him.

"There isn't any other way if I don't send you on then the ch..."

Giriko was cut off before he could finish giving her a more forceful version of his doom and gloom speech when she pressed her lips to his hand. There were a lot of mixed and rather confused feelings at this point. The first involved heat rapidly assailing the boy's face, the girl was extremely pretty and any kind of intimacy coming from her was going to be uncomfortable for Giriko who, for all intents and purposes, had the worldly knowledge of a sexually repressed teenager. The second involved the fact that typically, the interaction they just shared was inverted. Normally it was the guy's job to heroically apply chivalrous kisses to the woman's hand as a sign of respect, admiration, and all around charming manliness, which in retrospect was pretty silly, there wasn't much that was manly about the gesture. Perhaps there was merit to this inverted exchange, either way the implication wasn't lost on him. Giriko's face froze for a few moments, glaring at the spot where his hand was before he violently shook his head free of the cobwebs and gently retracted his hand back to his side and he averted his gaze to the ground as she asked if he would talk about his problems with her, she was just aiming for all the sensitive spots today wasn't she. It was there that the boy hatched his plan...well...he utilized the plan she hatched for him at the very least. He was going to take credit for it anyway though. He was going to propose a deal.

"There is no other way. If I do not perform Konso and soon, the chain is going to finish deteriorating and I will need to kill you to prevent you from menacing the human world. But I will make this compromise with you. If you submit nicely and peaceably...I'll bring you this sword once you're in Soul Society and when I meet you, we'll talk all about our tragic back stories and I'll help you finish your mission. I'd much rather we do this than me have to hold you down force you to go."
