Verathius looked up at the skies now, his mind else where as it so often was now that his memory as one of the oldest Vasto Lorde was restored. He was so old he couldn't remember much about the time before he became one of the few to naturally evolve into an Arrancar. He brought a hand up running it along his chest, his fight with Moonie still engraved in his mind. How long had it been since such a strong one stood before him? He remembered his fight with the girl and the strangely painted man. He met Rose there and Ashlei once again, the thought of her made him clench a fist. She knew something about him and never said a word, he desired to know what was taken from him. She took something but what was it? He felt empty almost unable to be filled, normally he was at peace with this. His body due to his powers seemed entirely human the only thing hollow like was the hole in his chest. He wore a red suit and dressed different from other Arrancar, he adjusted the black tie a bit as he looked up at the sun. He felt the memories of the fights so far flood him, rumor had it he wasn't really loyal to anyone or anything. Their it was again, the flash of the white visage of the female whom was at the gate with him. Why couldn't he feel her anymore, it was distant and almost a forgotten memory that he couldn't reach no matter how strong.
What was her name, Ashlei had taken her hadn't she? Why else would he agree to work for that tyrant? Verathius was a peaceful Arrancar whom didn't fight often, his nature did a complete 360 since then. He'd killed so many Quincy Pure blood or otherwise, fought against three of the original Captains. So what was it that had changed, he didn't ponder to much about Unohana-taichou..He'd hoped the Captains would still be amusing but they were weak cannon fodder now. So why did he exist now was the major question Verathius wondered why he accepted the rank of second Espada. Starrk was strong and Nagato was a leader he guessed, never having had much conversation with him he didn't form an opinion. Verathius lifted his gaze looking in the direction of the door, he was it's guardian for so long. Did the answer exist there still perhaps if he went back that female would return? No he was simply losing his mind after all how many eons did he guard it? Verathius was extremely old.
Nagato perhaps had the answer, he may of knew him back then.. However the Arrancar of Darkness didn't have answers to these questions which plagued him. Some people live for the moment, but the truth is. He lived for the fact that he nothing and didn't have an answer. But now he did and the Answer was something ugly that wouldn't simply vanish, it remained a hideous reminder of the fact. After Moonie his memories poured back in, how he truly fought he was eager to show Moonie what his fighting skills were really like. He was decent but he didn't have the strength he did now. They were both warriors improving yet, Moonie perhaps did have an idea of the vastness that Verathius was. Perhaps the answer was to abandon these Espada and leave them to their devices, the answer never was clear. He could only await a sign, something that came from neither Nagato or Starrk. It would be her, she always was their even when Ashlei abandoned him at the gate for so long to guard and fight like an animal..Darkness has a name, it's name is simply forgotten in the sands of Hueco Mundo.
