There were days when it seemed rather difficult to wake up. The world seemed too big. The tasks ahead seemed like too much. The mind didn't seem stable enough. Et cetera. While this, by all accounts, should have been one of those days.. It simply.. was not.
The former Trecera Espada, the one known as Nelliel, had found it exceptionally simple to awaken this morning. It was instantaneous, as if the universe itself had willed her to wake in that very moment. Her green eyes opened suddenly, their gaze locked on the ceiling, and widened, as if she was in a panic. But this was not the case, as her body stayed stock-still beneath the silk sheets. Slowly, her eyes narrowed, the orbs softening to their normal, inquisitive position as she sat up carefully, the covers sliding off of her as she did so. She stretched her arms upward and yawned before slipping out of bed entirely, her unclothed form moving quickly to the restroom to grab her bathrobe, which she then slipped on, tying it tightly at the waist. She let out a soft noise akin to a happy purr, had she been a cat. She loved bathrobes. Soft, comfortable, and usually warm. It was amazing that anyone wore anything else!
Nelliel walked lazily into the living room of her small apartment. It was modest, sure, but it was home. It was simple enough to allow her to live here independently, even with her still slightly limited knowledge of how the humans worked and operated. She had come to love this place, as it sheltered and housed her even when she felt she had nowhere else to go. She stopped by the window on her way through the living room, staring out into the hustle and bustle of those who were on their way to work, or school, or whatever else. It was interesting, watching all of them move and flow like a veritable river. She smiled a bit, the corner of her mouth curling in just the slightest hint of a happy thought. They were out there somewhere... the friends she had made so long ago. She would find them, eventually. For now, though, time moves on.
As she turned around, already quizzing herself over what she wanted for breakfast, she was greeted with.. well.. a surprise, to say the least.
There, in front of her, was a man. One clad in a black suit, with blonde hair that accented his more pale skin. The sunglasses on his face kept his eyes from view, but that wasn't exactly what Nelliel was worried about at the moment. There was someone in her house
. What was she going to do? She thought about her Zanpakutō, sitting in the display cabinet in her bedroom. If she ran for it, would she make it in time? Or would this stranger cut her down? Was it even worth trying..?"Good Morning, or whatever time it is now."
Wait, what?"Guess it's a time for rest and recharge then. Hmm… An arrancar without hostility… Isn't this a rarity? I assume this is your home then? Sorry for intruding… I'm CB, the Knight of Time. And considering I'm here and not exploded or a corpse, it looks like we're fated to be acquaintances by the ever-rotating mind-screw that is our time continuum."
Nelliel blinked, her mind now devoid of thoughts of combat as she stared blankly at "CB". She hesitated for just amoment as her mouth opened and closed a couple times, as if she was about to speak, but then decided not to. After a couple cycles of this, she finally spoke."Uhm.. yes.. It is morning.. about Six am by my clock. Well.. Hello there, CB.. Uh.. Don't.. don't worry about the intrusion, I'm not quite.. sure how you got in.. because the door's.. uh.. still locked.."
She tilted her head, noticing the horizontal lock on the apartment's front door a ways behind CB. Everything she saw about this happening was making her more and more curious.. Not scared, per se.. Just.. really confused. "Well.. not ALL of us arrancar are bad, you know.. just the brutes. I don't tend to "explode" people until I have very good reason to. Normally, I'd take breaking and entering as a good reason. But.. you just.. entered.. there was no breaking.. so.. you're good. Besides, you seem unarmed, and this "Knight of Time" thing is making me really curious, so feel free to stick around for a while."
She chuckled a bit to herself, slipping her hands into the pockets of her bathrobe. "My name is Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck. But you can call me Nel or Nelliel. It's a pleasure, and a bit of a shock this early and under these circumstances, to make your acquaintance."
She smiled warmly at him.
Was it against her better judgement to show such kindness to someone who was just.. randomly in her home? Sure. But he bore no ill will, and she was really curious as to how he got in. So why not at least be civil?
For now, at least. There was no reason not to be.
