Misconception

Steven had been sent out on a routine mission. Spend some time in the world of the living in karakura down. Scout out the area and make sure that everything is safe. It sounded easy enough. Despite the high amount of spiritual pressure people seemed to have in the city, which attracted a lot of attention from hollows, was actually relatively safe. Shinigami where around a lot and it was used sometimes as a training ground where lower level shinigami could be sent to take out a few weak hollows as part of their training. Steven didn't actually expect anything to happen while he was there. At least nothing that he couldn't handle easy enough. It was boring to him. He liked a challenge. That was the only way that he would get any stronger.

He was exploring around the forest near karakura hoping that he might actually see something there worth his time. This forest tended to have a bit more hollows than others placed but he couldn't predict what he would actually find. From a distance he felt the presence on an arrancar in the forest. Hollows might be common there but an arrancar was always a reason to worry. They were usually very strong and destructive. He wasn't sure he would be able to handle it. He pulled out his Zanpakutō and ran into the forest to seek out the arrancar. This was the challenge that he had been waiting for. He knew he might regret it later but he had wanted a way to get stronger and an arrancar would definitely push him.

He stopped when he felt he was getting close to the arrancar. He hesitated wondering how strong it would really be. No matter what he had to be ready for it. He stepped around and saw a large opening. He could see the arrancar he felt in the middle of it. "I don't know why you are here arrancar but I won't let you get away with it whatever it is." He ran foward with his Zanpakutō angled towards the ground ready to make an upward slash when he was close enough to the arrancar.

The little blonde haired being sat in middle of a clearing in the forest, sniffling sadly. Today had started out horrible, she wasn’t sure what had happened. One minute she was walking around los noches, then a black hole opened beneath her and she had found herself here. Two cat ears stuck up between her hair, teary blue eyes looking out at the world around her. Her blondish tail swished slowly behind her, sticking out from beneath her skirt. Today she was wearing an outfit that school girls usually wore along with a red collar around her neck. A small bell on the collar tingled softly as she tossed her head a bit, trying to clear her mind. On her back was a very average looking katana in a purple sheath, held in place by a purple ribbon that went across her front. If she were to raise her head one might be able to make out the word ‘KITTY’ stamped across the ribbon about where her chest was.

A man came around the edge of the clearing, and fluffy raised her head towards him as he talked. She took in his look, his black hair and brown eyes, his slim looking build, and then his outfit. She leaped on to all fours, her back arching slightly as she let out a hissing noise, her tail growing in size. The man ran forward and attempted to slice at her, but Fluffy had enough time to react. A quick sonido took her right in front of him as he swung his sword upward, too close to be hit by the sword slash. Drawing her sword from its sheath as she raised her front paws, she made a downward slash towards the shinigami. Then she followed the sword slash by opening her mouth and charging up a cero, firing it at the man who had attacked her. She smiled slightly, the high she got when fighting was starting, things were going to get interesting. She opened her mouth, her voice very soft and girly as she spoke.

“Claw, חתול שחור!”

The sword disappeared as blonde fur grew on the backs of her hands, her nails becoming retractable claws. She opened her smiling mouth slightly, just enough to show him the four fang like teeth she now head. Now it was time for her to have fun.

The arrancar was a small one so Steven had misjuged it a bit. He was surprised when it sprang into action so quickly. He jumped back from her blade but still got hit by the tip of it. Luckily he was already moving back when she fired the cero because he managed to avoid most of it though he was still caught in the explosion it created. He was stunned that he had been so stupid as to run in like that. He was excited about being able to fight the arrancar he had been foolish enough to understimate her by her size.

He saw her release her ressurccion and knew he was in trouble. Those were usually a match for at least shikai which he didn't even have. The person didn't seem much different to him. Only minor changes in appearance where most arrancar had major differences. Maybe it wouldn't be all that bad. He hoped that he was right about that because if it was a strong as most other arrancar he would be in over his head.

He got up trying to figure out how he was going to take down this arrancar. He knew that running at it wouldn't work. That was just a bad idea from the start. The only way to get close enough to cut it would be shunpo. He raised his Zanpakutō and held it by his side pointing forward ready for a quick thrust attack. He used his quickly appearing to the left side of the arrancar. When he arrived at his destination he launched his sword forward hoping that he would be able to catch his opponent off guard.

Fluffy glared at the man, though her mouth stayed in a playful smile. He had managed to move so as to take the least damage from her attacks, though both had partially hit him. He seemed to still wish for battle, and her tail swished happily behind her. Crouching there in the grass, ready to pounce, she waited for him to attack her. He prepared to make a thrusting attack, and then used shunpo to appear next to her, trying to hit her. Giggling, Fluffy used her sonido, appearing behind the male, her speed even faster than before.

“Kitten Cross.”

A small black kitten appeared next to fluffy, and with one paw she swept it up, throwing it on to the young man’s back. With a growl, the kitten let off a thin, pink cero towards the man’s back, blowing itself up in the process. Sprinting around to the young man’s front, Fluffy smiled up at the man, daring him to attack her again. Her energetic smile had come back, her body filled with the drug like high she got when fighting. She wanted more, and though she hated it when the kitten blew itself up, she knew she couldn’t go back and change her decision. Speaking the words once more, three more kittens would appear in front of her, guarding her from her would be attacker.

“Kitten Cross.”

((OOC Note: the kittens don't have a mask and look like ordinary kittens, but they are considered hollows. They are 2 tiers below her tier, so they're 4-3s. Also, while in her resserecion form her natural speed is doubled, and her sonido is boosted by 1 rank, from adept to advance.))

He had thought that he would be able to at least hit this arrancar with his blade and was stunned when she disappeared. When she spoke he only had time to turn his head as the little kitten she created launched a cero at him. He had absolutely no time to even try and dodge the attack. It him square in the back and sent him flying forward. He was severely hurt after that attack. He wasn't sure exactly what his opponent was capable of and he was sure that it would cause him a lot of trouble.

He forced himself to stand up and face his opponent. He saw three more kittens in front of her. He stared wide eyed at those cats knowing that they could probably launch cero as well. He wondered just how many cats this girl could make before she ran out of reiatsu. He didn't think that he would be able to keep up fighting them long enough to find out if he got hit by another cero from one of those things. He raised his sword defensively hoping that he would be able to dodge those attacks or be able to counter her somehow. It was his only real option since she was clearly much faster then her and he didn't know how strong those cats really were.

He couldn't stand waiting to find out what she was going to do. "Come on arrancar. Do your worst. Your kind aren't known to let shinigami walk away alive." he said trying to sound brave but at the same time his eyes darted around the field wondering if there was a way that he could get out of there without this strange arrancar following him. He didn't think that he stood much of a chance there so he steeled himself to stay.

“Mew… but yous was gonna attack me…”

She responded to his question, then raced forward, her kittens following her as she did. Giggling, she used sonido again to get behind the shinigami, her claws lashing out at his right leg. She wasn’t aiming to make a deep cut, just a light one. The kittens didn’t seem to have any interest in attacking the shinigami, they seemed to follow Fluffy around, as if there only to protect her. A soft mewl escaped her lips, and she used sonido to get away from him. She could feel her high dying down, coming to an end. Her breathing was heavy now, she had used a lot of her energy playing around and now she was nearing her limit. Looking over at the shinigami, a bit of fear in her eyes, she turned around, slowly crawling towards the trees. Her speed was slow enough that if the shinigami wanted to, he could easily catch up to her with a couple of flash steps. The two kittens walked along next to her, like children next to their mother. Once they reached the tree, Fluffy’s resserecion would disappear, the two kittens disappearing as well as her sword reformed on her back. Looking around for the shinigami she had been fighting, there were definite signs of fear on her face.

He tried to move out of the way of the arrancar's last attack but failed to dodge it completely. He was no match for this arrancar. He couldn't win and would most likely die out here. He was ready for that possibility when he noticed that the arrancar seemed to be retreating. It was moving away from him slowly as if afraid. He moved to follow and was startled as it turned back to its original form. He figured it must be out of strength then.

He ran to catch up to it though he could barely do so much as that. Even if it was weak right now he still couldn't kill it he figured. He circled around to the front of the arrancar and slammed his sword into the ground in front of her to stop her. He leaned on the sword to support some of his weight. "Your a strange little arrancar. We seem to have come across a strange scenario. Your out of steam to kill me, and I'm out of strength to kill you. What do we do now?"
