“. . . “
Inami had arched one of her brown eyebrows as she heard the other speak. They way they spoke, the way they gestured and nonchalantly sat there, as if they had been on the same plane of existence, on the same plane of power. It amused the royal demon to no end, because in chaya nation? She would have had no other choice than to put this girl down like a dog unless she actually had been someone on equal footing as her, the queen of brutes, the most powerful figure in the whole world of demons most brutal country, a monster with no equal in her lands, one of the four supreme beings just under the demon god that ruled these lands, and her lands indeed were vast, far larger than any normal continent could be considered, far greater than any one man had probably ever laid eyes on, that was the land of demons her home, yet here with the vast majority of her energy suppressed, enough to make her seem like a minor individual someone even weaker than this . . . spiritually powered being besides her.
So yes, she got quite the rush at being unknown, just another pebble in the great river of life, one among thousands, one among billions, the billions that lived on this planet, and the uncountable number of just simply living things that graced this universe, the countless other ones and the rifts that lay dormant waiting to bloom in between. It was a feeling that she was unable to get anywhere else than here, in this backwater bar that reeked of a human stench, sweaty thrashing bodies and the overwhelming mind-culling scent of booze, spirits, the good stuff if you will. Yet as inami swished around the amber liquid in her cup so that the very corners would have spilled over, she quite calmly formulated an acceptable answer, even if she couldn’t mask the strange almost old-world flavor to her accent, and her poise that came from the air of authority that she exuded from every single fibre of her being.
“I am Ash , Imani Ash. It’s a pleasure to meet you Momoka, i do have an honest question right now though.”
Inami had slowly tilted the glass back to her lips, while remaining perfectly poised, from the straightness of her back, to the text-book dip to her shoulders and the nearly imperceptible way that she kept her head balanced in ratio to how her body was sitting. All of these would be nearly second nature knee-jerk reflex’s that came from her having to act like a queen nearly every second of the day, how she instead now adressed momoka with her glass coming to land against the counter with a gentle clink, the liquid inside sloshing around before settling to a calm stillness.
” Are you human?”
Her question would be purposefully placed so that there would be one more thing to back up her weak appearance and low spiritual level. As she thought if she also seemed to not be adept at telling the spiritual races apart from one another, that it would back up her claim that she was ignorant, but there would be clues such as her appearance, which would closely resemble if not perfectly match the queen of chaya, inami asthavon. There was also her name Ash Imani, which if someone would turn it backwards atleast the last name you would get Inami Ash. Instead of Ash Imani. which would just be inami’s first name spelled backwards and her last name shortened by five letters. Further than that though there would be the odd subtly to her faked energy signature, only accomplishable due to the sheer heights she has with zao-ka manipulation, it would seem forced or suppressed, and that would be the only real clue as to what she was.
Finally Inami had leaned back and allowed her lips to press against the glass once more as her feet rested against the bar and she decided to answer the casual remark that initially momoka had made instead of labeling it as rhetorical and just not answer at all, her soft amber gaze shifting to look at momoka as in that moment despite her mask and her perfect disguise one thing would slip. Her eyes would show the immensity of the being that stood before this girl, not through power, but through the sense of unnaturalness, given one of inami’s more famous talents was the latent power of her eyes, and the sheer strength that became possible thanks to them.
”..Honestly i think this music is trash, but thats what this if for aint it?”
Inami said as she raised her glass discreetly sliding another twenty across the bar so that she could get another one for when this one had run out, as for now? She was certainly enjoying it, the day in the sun that she had all but snuck out of demon world to get.
