Aether is the primordial, natural energy of the universe. While reishi is the energy of the spiritual realm, and reiryoku an energy of natural life, aether comprises the energy of the actual, physical world and its metaphysical entities. From this energy, the first Iramasha were conceived. They were spontaneously born, as corporeal and cognisant beings of the natural universe. While something like Nidhana birthed Danava as manifestations of 'concepts', Iramasha were born of the native, innate entities of the world.
By their connection and attunement to the natural universe, the Iramasha were also incredibly adept at repairing it in the event of any unnatural impacts to it. For example, a disaster wiping a species extinct would be natural, but a demon from another realm coming to destroy an entire population would be unnatural, and an Iramasha would be well equipped to stop and repair any damage as a result of this attack. The first Iramasha acted as sorts of arbiters to the universe, upholding natural order in different manners depending on the individual.
100,000 BC to 50,000 BC
The Iramasha were independent entities, with no personal god or overhead authority to be accountable towards. This independence, and their natural power, made them a subject of both interest and worry to the resident gods of the PHverse: the Soul King, Truth, and Deveta. It was in their best interests, and the interests of their own child races, to maintain neutrality with the Iramasha. Any conflict was unnecessary.
By this point, the Iramasha were beginning to develop their own societies. While there were different groups with different intentions, the predominant society held neutrality. Their presence was most often on Earth, but many groups explored other dimensions as personal desire, or to keep distance from the rest of the races.
The Soul King and Truth, recognising this neutrality, took a step forward and proposed their own realm, to keep to themselves and maintain that neutrality. A portion of the Soul Society's outlands was uprooted and used to form a separate dimension, later known as the Iramasha Realm. There were some exceptions, but a majority of Iramasha migrated there.
50,000 BC - 15,000 BC
Thousands of years passed as Iramasha cultures and societies progressed on their own. Through their attunement to aether, they expanded the realm, replacing the presence of spiritual particles as a remnant of the Outlands.
Throughout the centuries, the changes to the natural universe also influenced changes with the aether, and by extension the Iramasha. Different groups of Iramasha with common traits began appearing, and existing Iramasha transitioned into these groups as well. The assorted races of Iramasha manifested, all changed accorrding to their aether class.
Devil Iramasha, as they were labeled, were Iramasha that embodied more chaotic elements, and by no surprise held aether classes of negative and chaotic thematics. They were labeled Devil Iramasha on account of many of them being Iramasha that lived in Demon World. The Angel Iramasha were a group that had a tendency to inhabit the Soul Society. They often embodied elements and aether classes of order and care. Hybrid Iramasha also came about, most often as a result of natural birth between two racially different Iramasha, and also as Iramasha that could develop multiple aether classes of elements and aspects aligned with different racial groups.
15,000 BC - 10,000 BC
The natural differences of these races in personal make-up and their aether classes also manifested as differences of ideologies. Those differences came to a point of being irreconcilable in the Iramasha Realm. The Devil Iramasha desired dominance in the land, and more specifically the universe. The Angel Iramasha designated them as enemies to the race, and outright classified them as an offshoot of demons rather than fellow Iramasha.
There were unaligned Iramasha that desired peace or neutrality and distance from the conflict, but a war began that embroiled all inhabitants of the Iramasha Realm, regardless of affiliation and neutrality. It was during this time that Hybrid Iramasha, who by nature held multiple aether classes, also displayed their true potential. They were so fearsome that they became the subject of fear and ostracisation. The other races began genocidal campaigns to put them down before they could be of assistance to the enemies.
During the war, a necessity for hierarchy and leadership came about. Different factions were created, and even independent nations that began their own lines of royal families. These leaders were responsible for the peace. Towards the end of the war, a level of bloodshed with millions dead reached the point of the natural universe put out of order. The Iramasha were attuned to this disorder and realised, in the interests of the universe and their own self-preservation, a compromise needed to be met.
A council was formed with the leaders of each race coming together to unite the realm, then forming the Iramasha Union. Even if they it was a begrudged union on many fronts, it was brought about by absolute necessity.
10,000 BC - 2007 AD
Conflicts between the factions continued on until even present time, but this period of peace and stability also allowed the Iramasha Realm to rebuild themselves. In the next 10,000 years, most Iramasha stayed within their Realm to consolidate theirr efforts into repairing the dimension. Small groups still ventured out, one notable group visiting the Soul Society.
Their time there involved associating themselves with the shinigami as a means to get away from the trauma and terror that was the Great Divide. Part of this escape was helping the shinigami to form the Gotei, as an organisation of order with the intention to maintain balance of the Soul Cycle. They left them to their own devices, proud of helping another race pursue similar ideologies to their own.
The development of the Gotei applied a slight shift to the balance and natural order of the realms, but denying responsibility the Angel Iramasha stayed quiet and seceded back into their own realm. Their suspicions were true, and the Gotei's presence extended to the living realm so much that an imbalance was created. The Angels' responsibility in assisting their formation had them be neglectful to the fact that this imbalance was created, only stepping in during the rise of Aizen and the events of the Winter War. By this point, they announced their presence to all the realms, intent on taking a more proactive role in maintaining balance through the universe.
2010 AD - Present
The Angel Iramasha went back to proactively helping the Gotei and other earth-based factions now that their presence was made known, and the introduction of multiple other races to the natural world meant that Iramasha had to be more proactive as a whole to rebalance the universe. This included participating in the War for the Soul King from 20143 to 2014. Kin Iramasha started a war against the Soul King using the remnants of Ender's organisation, the Kokuryuteshi. This ended in the Soul King sealing Kin, and a lasting relative
peace established throughout the realms.
From 2015 to 2150, the Iramasha became more and more involved with the realms, imparting their wisdom and knowledge to many beings and integrating themselves to better fulfill their role and counteract the influences of unnatural powers, like the presence of Sugiurans, or the constantly chaotic Demons, or the destructive nature of the Quincy. The Iramasha were also building their presence and strength in anticipation for another event that would threaten the universe, just as they felt previously. This time, they intended to be at the forefront and put a genuine effort in stabilising everything.
From 2150 to 2200, World War 3 occurred. Hollow and Demon populations exploded on Earth, throwing the balance of all things and the health of the universe far out of its natural place. The iramasha moved to mend the imbalance and participate, and once the war concluded, they stayed to help repair and bring about some semblance of a peace to the realms. The Iramasha continued to participate in the events of the world until the middle of the decade, where the losses incurred by the Moon Massacre of 2016 pushed the Iramasha Union to grow quiet.
