For the last few days Aiko had purposely transformed into her black cat form, and remained that way. As a cat, her spiritual power and potential was just slightly lower than when she was in her human form. Most importantly however, to regular people, she would seem as a cat like any other. To spiritually aware beings, Aiko would simply be noticed as a cat that possessed a fair amount of spiritual energy. That’s as far as it would go however. The spiritual signal the cat projected was completely different from her original self so no connection could be drawn. Beyond that, the transformation altered the pitch of her voice and deepened it to the point where it was completely unrecognizable. She sounded like the average middle aged man. With a lower amount of energy she was able to suppress her vast reservoirs of reiryoku. Even then however, for those that knew anything, the cat would seem powerful, as her energy, though paling in comparison to her real might, was still on line with the energy reflected by the Captains of the ancient Winter War.

Not long ago, Aiko had met a rather odd but interesting individual: Kimitsuki. Since then the Shinigami had nicknamed her Kim. The two shared a meeting that was full of welcomed surprises. It turned out she was a Danava or so it seemed. They were pretty much a pretty rare breed of Demons that were most often attached to a very specific concept, hers being fire. The fiery warmth of her abilities stood as a stark contrast to the cool and refreshing nature of her own skills. The differences were so clear that it made it all the more interesting that they were able to befriend each other, and even go a little further. There seemed to be a connection that was difficult to describe. Kim liked Aiko no doubt. The Shinigami had to admit she found the Danava appealing and interesting. It was rare to meet someone of her race with such a different and healthy disposition. Beyond that, their encounter had gotten much better and ended with a rather lengthy, romantic and passionate kiss, along with some rather opportune bonuses.

Right before their departure, Kim had given the Shinigami a card that contained some personal info to keep in contact with her. And while Aiko had made no attempts to communicate right away, she did reach out sooner than later. Instead of holding a drawn out conversation, she merely suggested the two should meet out in Italy. The place was far out enough, different enough, and nice enough to allow for a good time, sightseeing, and a very peculiar sort of fun: the kind that would be easily remembered and not easily forgotten.

With days before the fated second meeting however, Aiko had willfully transformed into a cat with a plan. She wanted to approach Kim as a stranger, fully knowing she wouldn’t be able to discern the identity in the slightest. She wanted to understand how Kim behaved around others. She needed to know how she talked to other guys and to other girls. And more importantly, she wanted to truly know whether she liked Aiko, assuming she did, simply because of the way she looked. To those ends, she would simply try to be her, as a cat that seemed to a man, and see how it would turn up in the end.

At the time being, Aiko was at a house of an old lady that owned several cats. The elderly lady had several black cats just like her, some white cats, and even spotted ones too. Despite the sheer number of the felines, they were all fed. They had a bowl of milk every night, and a spot to sleep somewhere in the house. And while the Shinigami enjoyed real food and deserts quite a bit, as a cat, milk was as good a meal as any. Eventually, as the day neared, the Shinigami became aware that she needed to set her plan into motion. On that morning, she would walk to the nearest window on all four of her paws. Some of the cats were still at the house eating, while others had left elsewhere. As for Aiko, she seemed content playing around and inside a cardboard box by the window. All of a sudden, in the distance, she caught the feeling of a rather familiar and warmth radiating spiritual signal. No doubt it belonged to Kim. Lost in the excitement of the moment, she didn’t noticed she had actually tipped the box some, causing to fall along with her.

”No. Not like this,” said the much deeper voice. “Nuuuuuuuuuu!”

Of course Aiko would be okay. The scream was more her way of being relatively scared of the sudden fall. Just like expected of a cat, Aiko was able to fall steady on her four paws, easily cushioning the fall. The box would fall neatly just on top of her cute black cat form. Unknown to her however, the outside of the box would read, Fragile.

”Now we play the waiting game.”

Giggling to herself as she spoke with the rather deep tone to her voice, she would simply await. It seemed as though the energy signal was heading that way just as she had perceived. There was no telling if Kim would actually open the box or not, but she had a hunch that she would. After all, a meaningfully and decently strong spiritual signal coming from inside a small box should have been enough curiosity to most. If Kim did indeed open the box, she would have found a cute, black kitty that simply laid there, likely meowing. She wouldn’t utter a single word however, after all, even if she possessed noticeable spiritual energy, cats didn’t talk. To think that one could would make someone question the sanity of whomever thought it.

Kimitsuki, the Danava of fire, gave a soft sigh as she remembered the first day that she and Aiko had met. And, needless to say, it was heavenly to the girl. While Kimitsuki was inexperienced, and didn't exactly have physical desires as much as they were emotional. However, the Danava was having strange cravings at points. The kissing was especially nice, and she would love to have more of it, despite how such things are normally against how she acts. Maybe it was how Aiko spoke and acted? How she looked? It was truly hard to say as she hadn't seen Aiko in a fair amount of time, at least a few days. The Danava kinda wanted to see and talk to Aiko again; actually getting to know her instead of just getting to know her lips. While it was true others have made movements towards her, one could say either that they were much too forwards, or, Kimitsuki did not want to do stuff between herself and them. It was quite hard to say for the Danava since she too did not know her emotions at times; possibly a side effect of spending a good 600 years studying only fire. Of course, it could also be a side effect of inexperience; both reasons were rather possible and plausible.

And then, Aiko contacted the Danava and wanted her to meet up with her in Italy; quite a nice place apparently. So, when Kimitsuki was ready, and it was just about time for them to meet up in Italy, Kimitsuki hopped through some shadows, in her true appearance and normal attire; appearing in an alleyway of Italy. Kimitsuki yawned softly and stepped out of the alleyway until she was in the busy streets of Italy. She sighed softly and looked around a little before actually starting to move; wondering where Aiko may be. She looked around and couldn't even sense her reiatsu.

Kimitsuki bit her lip and kept walking through the streets in this city as her right hand rose to hold onto her arm as she looked around, trying to find Aiko. The best thing she could have gone on was that strangely wonderful feeling of Aiko's reiatsu; directly clashing with Kimitsuki's own. But, there was no such feeling. For some reason, Kimitsuki could feel panic welling up in her being as she felt her heart sink. Did Aiko stand her up? One would think not, but, after that kiss Kimitsuki was a little hopeful she could get to know the woman behind the lips better than just, well, her lips and tongue. Of course, if such things weren't meant to be then what could Kimitsuki do? Likely continue on. But, a burning sensation in the Danava's already warm heart was causing her to think that it would be hard to simply 'move on'. But why? Kimitsuki only knew she loved that kiss and wanted seconds, and Aiko was definitely good looking. But, something about how she spoke, how she acted, her personality... Kimitsuki was drawn to them. She was drawn to the woman with amazing lips, a sweet smile, and a personality that seemed to speak volumes to the Danava. And she yearned to learn more about Aiko so she could know more about her than just how her lips felt.

Kimitsuki sighed softly when the small amount of panic subsided, glad her body did not shift into a different form to preserve herself and other things around her. Though, the form was nice enough to go into just because. However, if she did so now eyes would be drawn to the... exposure it creates. Not exactly something she wants to deal with in the middle of a city. So, Kimitsuki simply sighed and calmed herself some as she continued to walk through the strange streets.

Eventually, the Danava reached a street in which she smelled what seemed to be cats. She sniffed the air and then sighed a little; definitely cats. Not that she wasn't fond of cats, they were cute, the smell was just a little overpowering to her. However, she froze after a few seconds when she felt a spiritual energy that seemed to be as strong as hers, if not a little stronger. Kimitsuki looked around until she saw a box, with fragile on the side, lying on the ground. Kimitsuki walked up to the box and then looked upwards, seeing a window. She had a feeling that the woman upstairs dropped the box, but, hopefully nothing was broken; better safe than sorry.

Kimitsuki opened the box, though it did seem light. When she opened it, she first saw a cat; and that the box was open at the bottom. Kimitsuki sighed softly and lifted the box off the cat before she sat down in front of the cat, her legs crosssed, and she looked at the cat. After a couple of seconds Kimitsuki spoke to the cat that was Aiko, though she did not know that.

"Hey there little one, did you fall from the window? Do you need any help to get back to your owner? Or do you not have an owner and this box just fell on you? and, in that case, are you alright?"

Kimitsuki looked at the cat, smiling softly as she spoke to the cat. Kimitsuki had no idea it was Aiko, of course, but, she was still being nice towards the creature since she saw no true reason to be mean to the creature unless it showed the same to her. For now, Kimitsuki awaited an answer. But, one does have to wonder what may happen in this encounter. Time to find out...

Tilting its head a bit, the cat seemed to turn and look at the red headed girl. She was talking a lot. Did she expect the cat to talk. Cats couldn’t talk. Not all cats anyways . Only those cats in movies and in those anime shows could. In fact, though something she wouldn’t be out admitting in the open, most of the time she spent in her own self imposed exile and solitude, Aiko had spent it watching very old anime from a few hundred of years before. It was interesting the sort of things people liked back then, but she could see why. Everything was pretty and lively, and lewd, and very funny.

Speaking of being funny, she had a plan to try and test out Kim, to see how she would react to a few things. And so, with a meow, the cat would purr and move closer to her, trying nuzzle against her leg, lettings head caress against her leg while the tail waggled upwards some. If allowed, the cat would continue, otherwise it would simply move back.

”I think you were expecting me to talk, so pardon me for the shock if it wasn’t so.”

The words would sound distinctively masculine. There was no way of associating the voice or the energy with the one of the Shinigami. In such a strange world rather strange things happened. But still, cats didn’t talk. It wasn’t all that unlikely for certain species to shapeshift, even if rare among the Demons save for a special breed. But even then, it would be unlikely for so many things to change so if this was the case then, assuming it wasn’t really a cat, it was simply a male shapeshifter of some sort.

”Your name is Kimitsuki correct? How do I know this? I am the Cat God, heir of the Soul Cat that watches over all felines in this world and the next, waiting for our time to rule. How are you?”
