It had been quite a long time since the snow-haired male had a proper fight. The one in the Seireitei before had merely been a punishment and a warning to the intruder within the Seireitei. Here, and now, this was where he was to have a proper fight. So, as his azure eyes opened, and his head lifted by the slightest, Toshiro Hitsugaya knew what he was getting himself into. A deep exhale exited his lips as he found himself closing his eyes once again. It wasn't exactly nerve-wracking in this moment.

It was...a bit of a mixture of things. From nervousness, to worry for the well-being of the Seireitei as a result of something like this, upon other things, Toshiro wasn't entirely in the right mindset for this kind of fight. Perhaps this could help him take his mind off of it. So, he awaited the arrival of his opponent. A deep breath came yet again from the lips of the white-haired male, and his left hand soon began to move. Grasping the cloth that covered his back, a swift, but brief tug was all that was needed to remove himself of the old captain's haori that he had currently been wearing.

His other hand quickly went to work, his fingers wrapping tightly around the handle of his Zanpakuto and ripping it from the sheath, whilst his spiritual pressure expanded to release the truly full might of someone of his caliber. His eyes shimmered icy blue with this action, and the area that he stood in would immediately be covered in a frosty, but looming presence. Anyone who would be below the power level of a two tier would find their bodies having a large amount of difficulty breathing, possibly dizziness and nausea, or, on further aspects, they could find their bodies failing. But, the worst that would happen to most would be simply fainting.

Why had he done this? Well, so that he would have access to all of both his, and Hyorinmaru's power. After all, this was going to be a fight where all the stops were pulled out, and every last bit of power between the two combatants were unleashed. Toshiro may have never really conversed with his opponent: Desmond Hayden, but he most certainly kept tabs on him. Admittedly, he knew very little about the King of Vastime, and the Leader of the Vanguard, but there was one detail that he had collected that stood out to him. And that would be how he fought.

So, when he had spoken about him needing a good fight within the bowels of his office in the Vastimian's claimed land, Toshiro quickly figured that he would be someone that could give him that satisfaction for battle. And thus, the male waited for his opponent still. He hoped that he would not be late for this, not that there really was a time that one was required to show up for something such as this. But, Toshiro wished to get this started as quickly as possible. And so, when his opponent would arrive, there would only be brief words coming from the Veteran Member of the Gotei United.

"Are you prepared for this, Desmond Hayden? I suppose you wish for us to release our last release forms immediately. If so, I will gladly oblige. I hope you are ready for this. After all, this is going to be quiet the large scale fight."

"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

What is character? Is it the facade someone puts on when people observe them? Or is it their inner being when they are pushed to the edge- then over? It is those questions which a leader must ask themselves if they wished to truly be able to become the example to those who look to them for guidance. It was one of the questions which the Iron King had to ask himself many times over the past few months, with the answer always being able to ground himself in his duties.

So when the chance for such adversity came into his office, Desmond Hayden found himself seeking to challenge this former captain turned veteran to a duel. In what better display then the training exercised demonstrated between the two titans of the dimensions? It would be a good showing to judge both the character of Vastime through Hayden and the level of endurance the gotei had formed since their unification.

The small air bursts of the dimensional barrer tearing almost seemed like a common place occurrence, it was a simple worm hole opening bridging the fabric between Hayden's location and the tournament. The first visual reference for Hayden as a bare foot stepping out onto the dirt caked ground, followed by a leg which was clothed in some type of loose fabric of a onyx color.

Finally, it would reveal none other than Desmond Hayden former shinigami to the gotei and King-Militant to all Vastimian forces. Not to forget he was the reagent general to the Vanguard illiciting a cheer from the crowd which was almost of deafening proportions as the two forces made their presence known. Thankfully, a barrier was erected to keep their spiritual pressures from fluctuating and destroying any poor souls which may get caught in the cross fire. But the cold coffee color'd eyes of Desmond would lock onto the blue orbs of Toshiro as he spoke.

"I want nothing of the sort, you earn the right to seem someone's bankai or even shikai. You must first make me draw my Zanpakatou before we even discuss such things, so I hope you are ready- because this will not be easy."

Hayden tone dipped a few degrees on the last words spoken to the male, as he finally released the unadulterated reiatsu of his. Within it Toshiro would be assaulted in his sensory detection as Hayden's full killing intent was released onto the male. The fact this was a sparring match and he possessed oceanic levels of murderous energy flowing from his will power and focus could unnerve those under master focus. But, should Toshiro steel himself in his will power he could find himself able to overcome this initial flood of rage and so on.

He would know however with a bit of deduction, that this rage and killing intent was not specifically focused on him rather it was the collection of centuries of inner turmoil and rage- brought under the subjugation of a single man with a purpose. Like a diamon, through time and pressure he had forged this large amount of energy and killing intent to a tool to utilize enabling him to act with such calm regard and at the same time possess an extreme pride.

His body would flex slightly as his stance widened, the rippling of muscles upon his torso tensing slightly as his fists came up. The scar across his chest and nose flexing in their own right as the skin was pulled taut against bone and muscle. Despite the defined appearance of muscle it appeared his reflexes where still superb and his speed easily able to keep up with his power- if only lacking somewhat. This was a man who was going to be an unpredictable enemy, relying on either strength or speed. Perhaps even both?

It was at this point a clicking and whirling was felt deep inside Hayden's mind, it was the subtle activation of his Phantom Brain made courtesy of Vastime. It was a one of a kind meant to rival that of Shadin Yuudeshi, simply code named the 'Deus Ex Machina' better known as 'God from the Machine.' Despite already possessing a mastery over his focus and inner self, his eyes would be able to understand, predict, and react accordingly to the movements of Toshiro and himself while allowing for some leeway to plan around their battle. It seemed he was gonna take this seriously.

"So, come- show me the icey death which awaits me."

The snow-haired veteran gazed into the opposing man's eyes. There was the lust for battle that burned in his eyes. Toshiro could very well respect the man for his lack of sheer brutality, like many people with phenomenal strength had. For many, they simply used every ounce of their strength immediately. For Hayden, this was not the case. A soft nod of approval came from Hitsugaya as Hayden's words reached his ears. The gentle chill of Toshiro's spiritual pressure flowed into the arena, before two words came from his lips.

"...Very well."

As this was being said, the Ice Dragoon's right hand slowly rose from his side, his fingers gently wrapping around the blue wrappings of Hyorinmaru. Toshiro let out a quiet breath, before his entire body froze. In his mind, he chanted:

'Reign over the frosted heavens, Hyorinmaru.'

As the first stage of Hyorinmaru was released, the air grew ever more frigid, and the access to Tensō Jūrin was granted. But the traditional dragon that would spawn at Toshiro's blade never appeared. Instead, a large ice dragon would slam down in Hayden's general location from above. The back-end of the dragon was connected to the blade of the Icy Dragoon, hovering in the sky. The lookalike on the ground soon began to dissolve, reverting back to the water that it had been shaped from.

The real Toshiro immediately held his hand out, before muttering the Japanese words to the sixty-third spell in the Hadō library of Kido.

'Raikoho.'

The orb of electricity sparked to life within seconds, flashing the traditional color of yellow as the male began to fall at extremely high speeds, only to be boosted with a large chunk of Toshiro's natural speed. With his arm still outstretched, Toshiro crashed into the ground, aiming to drive the electrical spell into the shoulder and back of the Fallen Soldier. Meanwhile, the moisture in the air immediately was taken captive by him, taking shape into hundreds, possibly even thousands of ice spears.

As Toshiro quickly used a single use of Flash Step to move out of the way and avoid injury of his own attack, a quick mental gesture caused the spears to direct themselves towards Hayden...and fall. A hushed breath came from the veteran as he held his sword at his side, the ice dragon coiled around his body like a cobra, the soft crackling of ice filling the void of silence as the man gazed at his opponent.

Now this was the type of fight he was looking for.

The thrilling feeling of the air standing at attention, awaiting for the awakening of colossal power buried in the muscles of the king. Even now as he felt the prickling of power beginning to gather around Toshiro, a deep breath was taken savoring the moment. It was time like this between the fabric of life and death he found purpose. It was moments like this he knew what he was made for. The fight was beginning and with it the establishment of a new era of fighters- of men and women who potential knew no such thing as limits.

As the sky above Hayden changed for a mere moment, to see Toshiro begin whatever ritual he was planning was exciting. But it did not make Hayden nearly as complacent or unaware of his surrounding as one might think- you did not get to his status by simply being unobservant. The world could barely perceive the raised hand above his head as worn fingers simply grasped the dragon which had thundered down at his position. In a shocking display of raw titantic strength he had gripped the dragon as it came onto his location- a combination of his blinding speed and continental breaking strength.

The man could only look up as a look of annoyance came onto his face, before it morphed into something akin to a slanted smile. He was impressed by the thunderious beginning, almost respecting of it. But such power was only going to act as small displays of dominance- not true power. It was why as he gripped the dragon's head with a singular hand his hazel irises cast themselves on the new presence felt- the primary Toshiro.

The crackling of energy. The bubbling of destructive power only one element could possess: His own. Lightning. Pure untapped essence of the most destructive force of nature. To see the shinigami wield it brought that slanted smile of his to a full on grin. Unmoving as he allowed the Shinigami to crash towards the earth and let off the massive attack. Hayden grip on the Ice Dragon tightening for a moment, enough to perhaps break bone if this creature had such things within it's jawline. But Toshiro would soon find out something shocking about his enemy.

'Flow, focus.'

As the lightning power made contact with the skin of Desmond Hayden, the energy being absorbed into his being rocketing through his internal energy channels. His body pivoting slightly, left foot stepping forward as his arms drew near his body through raw might jerking the icey dragon with him. The man would turn his full body in a matter of a second before extending his arms out throwing the ice dragon and with it redirecting the raw energy towards Toshiro countering the offensive onslaught with an equally destructivr show.

One might forget before Hayden was the King of Vastime, before he was a man of note, he held the title of 'Wrath of the Storm-Bringer'. Hayden's body was very much not only attuned towards lightning based energy and elemental attacks- he was nigh resistant to them under the right circumstances. Not to say he couldn't be damaged by them, for he was sure had this attack simply struck him he'd feel it. But the fact remain his years of training and naturally profiency enabled him to utilize his energy channels as a means to redirect the flow of lighting... throw the icey dragon and turn both the dragon and lightning into one attack.

Hayden himself would stand there letting out a warm breath, lightning crackling about his body from remnants of tapping into his ethereal essence. It was not so easy to simply move the energy, he had to utilize his own energy as the catalyst- changing the properties of the lightning slightly. A black tint remained around the lighting as it arced through the icey dragon.

But to think Hayden's assault was over would prove to be false. For after he had launched the dragon the man would disappear in a burst of natural speed and flash step, appearing in front of Toshiro crouched low. His hand curled into a tight fist which hung low to the earth, his whole body tilting sideways as if to unleash a uppercut of the centry. The raw kinetic force being generated from flexing his muscles enough to cause a vortex of energy to explode upwards; a surge of murderious intent being felt.

In that second Toshiro would feel such a primordial essence of death that it felt like Death himself had crawled from hell to this battle. The cold embrace of death only moments away if Hayden unleashed this punch. In actuality it was simply Hayden's immense willpower emitting his true desire of a battle- his true intentions in this fight. He WAS fighting with killing intent, the only way to conduct a battle between veterans.

Yet... the hit never came.

Where Hayden was simply laid an afterimage, which faded away within a second. The real essence and being of Hayden slightly behind Toshiro, baritone voice ringing out.

"They did not call me 'The Wrath of the Storm' for fun Hitsugaya."

Roar. Crash. CRASH. ROAR. FRAAAAAW.

"Caha… CAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…"

The Seiretei didn't like that noise.

It didn't like that noise one bit.

Harder and harder, fiercer and fiercer, the immense pressure and roaring winds pushed onto the figure that was flying down from the sky. Lightning and pure energy had called this beast forth, forcing to fall from the skies above.

Spiritual energy radiated through the air, the blast of Raikoho's crackling noise swimming across the descending figure's body. At last, the figure had entered the eyesight of the others, his body spinning about as he his clothing billowed about in the wind.

"VOOOOOOOOOOOI!!"

Muscles strained, the figure's form distorting as his entire body curved inwards. The timing was flawless, a note of grace that did not match the rest of this figure. Throughout the ground where Hayden and Toshiro were standing, pulsation after rocking pulsation coursed. A bowed figure stood there, his head looking towards the ground, blonde locks hiding his gaze from view.

Well, not entirely. On either side of his face, Toshiro and Hayden could clearly make out his teeth. He was smiling. Smiling like a mad man. He was dressed like a crazy person, too. Sandals had been flattened on his feet, torn fabric laying itself around only half of his torso. Around his legs, he wore a pair of baggy, free-form pants, with several squares of cloth adorning them. Perhaps they had heard tales of this man.

Slowly, he drew himself back up, the smile animated on his face as he breathed in that killing intent that Hayden was giving off. He could sense it, and it drove him crazy. His hair fell back down along his head, where it fell down almost to his waist, absolutely ridiculous in length. "…Voi… Come on." He told the two of them, both fists drawing back as he smashed them into one another. The sound that echoed forth was like a wrecking ball hitting straight into a boulder.

"I don't care who; just let me feel that again." He told the both of them, raising a hand up and pointing it directly at Hayden, looking at Toshiro for a moment, before turning back to the taller man. His lava-colored eyes bored into the man, a single step echoing outwards. Killing intent surged along with it, Moonie Iramasha's upper body tensing as he took step after step up to the taller man, his smaller growing smaller and more focused as he approached.

"Let me get the rust off of my fists."
