Song: Jiyuu no Tsubasa [English] - By: Melifiry - Word Count: 741

He screwed up. Henrex screwed up big time. Not with someone else, mind you, but himself. After all this time, all of this time that he had spent getting himself stronger, his mind had put the fact of his skill being absolute crap in the back of his mind. Even with his current energy levels, he knew that all the energy in the world meant nothing. So, he decided to do...this.

Train the places he felt the most attention was needed. Currently, those areas were Strength, Speed, Hoho, Weapon Skill, and Zanjutsu. A hand gently wrapped around the handle of his Zanpakutō as he thought of this. As he exited his room in the Soul Society, and quietly shutting the door behind him, Henrex would quickly tap into the GRID's UI, allowing him exit access, then raising the finger at his other side, revealing the Hell Butterfly that rested there. Drawing his sword and gently thrusting it into the air, a set of shoji doors opened, revealing the Dangai.

Stepping through, and breaking into a run, Henrex's body would vanish and reappear, the Hell Butterfly tracking and following his every movement. The quick, brief uses of Shunpo allowed him to reach further and further into the Dangai, and quicken his journey to the Living World. The male's eyes seemed to burn a hole at the emptiness that he glared at in the distance. Burning more and more of his energy away, he continued to use Shunpo, his body constantly moving faster and faster, pushing himself to, and past his limits.

As the doors to the Living Realm opened, Henrex put on a burst of speed, not even using Flash Step to attain this quick, and brief level of speed. Zipping out of the Senkaimon, and his feet landing on the dirt of the Vastime's training grounds, the effects of pushing his legs that far kicked in. Pain creeped up his ankles and backs of his legs, but he ignored it. Using a small bit of Demon energy, and Reiatsu, he quickly soothed the pain that was entering his body.

After all, there was much, much more that would come. As he stood up straight, and his body began to carry him to the coffee shop that one particular wolf girl was working in. Mirja. The Vizard girl was the one he was looking for. Outdated references aside, she was the person he aimed to find in order to aid him with training. She had at the very least two of the skills he wanted to train in. Speed, and Strength. He knew her extreme lack of interest in the Shinigami's sword style, and her reliance on one single weapon: her fists.

The girl had enough skill and power in the close-combat arts to make even the most skilled human boxer stare in awe. But, it wasn't the skill of Hakuda that Henrex was wanting. It was her tremendous power. He wanted to make sure that he at least stood a bit of a chance against the strong(er) people in the world, so he made strength training a part of this little list. Another thing that he was hoping she would be able to help him with would be his skill in Hoho. He personally loved it, and wanted to get better with it. As for Mirja herself?

She wouldn't find a cowardly kid, afraid of getting hit. She would find an eager student, willing to learn, and willing to get hurt because of it. Henrex had always been one to be wishing to learn something new, or get better. After all, sometimes you had to gain skill in order to learn something new. And, even better, perhaps they could benefit one another. He could help her train in something, and she could help him train in what he needed. But, right now, it was all a matter of if she would accept, or even consider the offer.

So, with those reasons sound in his mind, the male quietly walked into the coffee shop of Mirja: The Tundra. Taking a quick look around, he would walk up to a chair, pull it out, and sit down, scooting back towards the table. Placing his hands on the table, and sitting still, the male simply would wait for Mirja to come out, or show up. After all, she was here most of the time nowadays. Hopefully she was in a good mood, and willing to talk. That was something he needed.

Mirja, The Mad Wolf

Blood and violence, they were the two things most prominent in her life today. Other things included the fear of others, death, the feel of bone shattering as she punched someone, the special brand of despair one feels when facing down a monster that has just literally torn the throats of your friends out with her claws and is looming ominously over you right now. They looked to be long nails from a distance, but when they got up close, and personal, there was no disguising their true nature. Made for combat, and drenched in the blood of all who would stand against The Demon Wolf.

A gunshot rang out as Mirja was finishing the clean up of this most recent squad of Caanan's men. She expected to feel the moderately painful thud of a bullet hitting her, but it never came, so she looked over and saw that he had popped himself off rather than have her deal with him in an infinitely more painful manner. It made her laugh, an evil laugh enhanced in it's ominous nature by the blood staining her. But, this was all done now, it seemed. The commander of this group knew nothing except where they had been deployed from, and that was a small forward base in an abandoned town. Those potted the Earth rather considerably these days. So she gave him one last, terrifying gaze with her hollow mask, and then snapped his neck and discarded the carcass, before turning to leave the scene of the havoc and devastation. Right now she had something else to do, a warm, long shower. Blood was murder to get out of fur, after all. She dispersed the mask, and took off, heading towards home and all it's wonderful, civilized amenities that she often felt were undeserving of a wolf like her.

Her ragged, violence-sharpened mentality soothing as she felt the ground beneath her feet pass at an incredible rate, the wind whip at her sharp and demanding, and the lack of even her foot falls in her ears. The beauty didn't last forever - it never did - and she arrived at the edges of Vastime. It was home, like so many of her houses all around the world. She liked this place, her heart was here, and she wanted to put down roots and get to know the people here, Hayden most of all.

King, or no, he was an interesting man. She had not made the best first impression, and would continue to fumble that one, since she was far from having any degree of mental stability, but that would not stop her from trying. Not stop her from desiring to know him, and be trusted by him. He inspired people to want to be liked by him, a very helpful skill for a King. Or King-Militant, anyway. She didn't know what the militant meant, but it was probably important, like the drill that she wasn't meant to call a dance.

She was so caught up in her own thoughts that she wandered into The Tundra - her room being the second floor of the building - and didn't notice Henrex until nearly at the stairs. He did frequent this place, but it was early, nobody was in, and Mirja was not there. So....he was waiting for her, for whatever reason. She had a hunch. Without saying a thing Mirja could tell he was different, his posture and the look in his eyes was like the difference between Iko and herself. It could be interesting to speak to him. But, female vanity pulled at her as well, always such an awkward thing.

"Make me a cup of tea, grab yourself one, and I'll be down in a few minutes" She told Henrex, giving him a warm smile and totally hoping he'd miss the blood in her teeth and muzzle, as well as the stuff caked over her, as if she had been swimming in a bath of it. Red was her colour, but that didn't mean she wanted to talk to people while covered in it. And what if some civilian came in while she was? It was just asking for trouble....

Song: Air Guitar - By: Katawa Shoujo - Word Count: 758

The world that they lived in was by far a peaceful one. If anything, it was filled to the brim with hatred, idiocy, psychopathy, and oh so much more. There was barely a single bit of peace in the world. Much of the world had descended into chaos. And Henrex could hear every last bit of it. The gunshot in the distance, and, upon hearing this, his head slid to the side, perked slightly from the sudden sound that rung out somewhere in the distance. A small hint of fear crept up his spine, before settling down as his mind quickly calmed itself.

His eyes remained closed, with the small moment of peace wrapping around his mind and soul, and a deep, but quiet breath came from him. A small bit of anxiousness tingled in his nerves, being slightly eager to see Mirja again. The slightly fragile heart of Henrex continued to beat at a semi-fast rate, before his head shook slightly. Get a grip. He told himself, forcefully calming himself down. Why was he randomly getting anxious at a time like this? It made no sense! He knew that he still had a crush on Mirja, but he still shouldn't be having this kind of feeling.

Clenching his eyes even tighter shut, he forced his mind, body, and heart to clear himself of these thoughts and feelings, returning to the empty and blank mindset that he had just moments before he had entered. Taking yet another deep breath, he clenched his hands tighter together, before he soon grew a tiny bit bored. After all, just waiting somewhere for someone with nothing to do is bound to give someone at least the smallest sense of boredom, now wouldn't it?

The two slits that were his eyes slowly slid open, the two gleaming crimson orbs staring at the peaceful coffee shop. A small smile crept onto his lips as he continued to stare at this place. It was almost like...a third home. It was a bit of a sanctuary for him while in the Living World. It was peaceful, it was in ally territory, and it was somewhere he could go to simply relax and have a nice time. A small sigh left him as his eyes closed again, before his hands relaxed their steel grip on one another, the emotions that had mixed up his thoughts gone.

He didn't mind those feelings polluting his mind, but now was not the time. It was a time that he needed to have his mind clear, so that he could focus on what he had set out to do. The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the lower floor, and as Mirja entered the second floor, the eyes of the male slid open, revealing the crimson orbs that resided within. Mirja was here. Slowly rising from his seat, he went to speak to Mirja, but was soon told to make a cup of tea for both her and himself, with a strangely warm smile towards him.

A small tinge of red came to his cheeks for no real reason as she said that, before his eyes saw the blood that stained her body and clothes. At first opening his mouth to say something, simply closed his mouth and gave her a kind, warm smile, before looking her in the eyes, and gently hugging the wolf girl. It was an action that Henrex didn't find himself normally doing, but he was glad to see her. So, he turned and went to make the tea for them, he turned around.

"It's good to see you, Mirja."

Turning back around, and quickly using Flash Step to get into the back, where everything that he needed would be, Henrex went to work. Gathering the ingredients in a short time, and mixing them together to make two raspberry teas, which he would then leave the back with a few quick uses of Flash Step, reappearing in the chair that he had been sitting in just mere minutes ago.

Setting his small plate that held the cup of tea in front of him, and doing the same for the chair that sat across from him, Henrex sat there once again, patient, but yet secretly eager for Mirja to arrive, most likely after she had finished cleaning up from the sticky red substance that was blood which covered her when she had came in. Perhaps he would question that after everything that he currently had in mind was said and done. But, for now, that current thought of training was what he was focused on.

Mirja, The Mad Wolf

Mirja saw Henrex and knew that despite her earlier idea that he had matured, it did not relate to her in the slightest. When she was around he was still an idiot. But, it was progress, since before he was an idiot when she wasn't around as well. Give him a while and he might just be able to do the tricks that allowed him to actually retain some semblance of sanity when the wolf girl was involved in any situation. As it was right now, he saw her and everything went out of the window like it was worthless.

Like this current situation. A girl was covered in blood, and he went over and hugged her, like getting blood all over his rather nice clothes was not a problem. Well, it was a problem for Mirja, and so she stopped him with....hmmm, that was a problem. Her hands were caked, but there was a spare leg that hadn't taken some guy's head off, so she held that out and put her foot flat against his chest when he tried to hug her, showing off her impeccable balance as there was not even the slightest of wobble when standing on one foot.
"Henrex, I'm covered in blood. There are three reasons why hugging me right now is not a good idea" She warned, and then when he went off to make the tea, gave a soft sigh and quickly headed upstairs before he tried anything else. She didn't use her natural speed, or flash steps, just climbed the steps like a normal person. For a girl who was in love with speed, there was something novel about walking slowly on occasion, just, walking without rushing. Still, she needed to get clean, and not keep the Henrex waiting or he would dissolve into a depressive jelly, or something. Quickly stripping and jumping in the shower, she put it on a blast that would strip the skin from a normal person, and turned inward while washing herself.

'Thanks Hvit. You really helped me out today' She said, gargling some of the water and then spitting it out to rinse out her mouth.
'Well, just don't go getting into too much trouble, ok? It's trouble for me' Hvit replied. Ever since that fight with the troll, she hadn't been an outright bitch, but only recently had she actually cared to talk properly like a person. Mirja put it to one side for now, as she had other problems to deal with. The shampoo was pulled out, she was cleaned, and then dried herself off and got changed into something nice, but not to restrictive or flowly. It had a corset, and she liked corsets, they made her feel snug. With herself blood free, having brushed the blood out of her teeth and cleaned out the fingernails, she returned down stairs, hair sparkling with that just-washed freshness, and her gaze fell on Henrex. Her smile was coy, and her body language was too.
"So, what brings you here, little Raven? Clearly you want me for something or you wouldn't hang around when you saw that this place was empty"

Song: School Days - By: Katawa Shoujo - Word Count: 755

Fucking idiot.

The words that echoed throughout his head as a foot connected with his chest, preventing him from moving towards Mirja. Sighing gently as she stopped, him, and going by what he had been told to do. As he sat down, the crimson eyes of his closed once again, and a new image portrayed in his head. It was a black and white version of the Tundra. This wasn't his inner world. It was the imaginative world of his alternate persona. Hence why the person sitting across from him was not Mirja at the moment, but a black-haired male, wearing a white hoodie, and black dress pants.

The two crimson eyes rose and stared at Henrex, a partial look of disgust occupied his face, with his posture and sitting position being the complete opposite of what Henrex had right now. Instead of being composed, respectful, and neat, he was very...sprawled out. Laying across the chair, with his head propped up on his clenched fist, boredom flashing in his eyes. The scars that resided in both cheeks of the alternate rippled slightly as his mouth moved a little, before he slowly swirled around in the chair, propping his feet up on the imaginary table.

You're an idiot.

The words were quick, brutal, and unexpected. He knew that his alternate persona was unpredictable, cruel, rude, and direct, but he wasn't expecting something like this. Blinking multiple times, he opened his mouth to respond, but could think of nothing to say. For some reason, all words had left him.

What? Wolf got your tongue? Heh. Fucking shithead.

Taking his feet off the table and setting his arm on the table.

What's your problem?

Your crush walks in, covered in blood. And you make the brightest fucking conclusion to HUG HER. What's the matter with you?

...I just wanted to show her some kindness....better than the depressive shit, isn't it?

There's a time and a place, idiot. You probably went a few hundred steps back from the repair you just had, buyin' clothes and whatnot.

.....

A sigh left him as the alternate confirmed the facts. He hadn't been thinking straight. He had thought that he had got those feelings of being overly happy to see Mirja out of his head. And then, it turned out to not have happened. But, he soon realized that he still had one thing that he forgot to do. Change out of the formal clothing that he had on. The imaginary world around him returned back to normal color, and a black sphere formed around him, and he quickly withdrew a small bit of contents from The Container.

The clothes that he had bought with Mirja. A black hoodie, white undershirt, and blue jeans, along with a belt. Quickly doing some speed changing, he soon found himself in the comfortable clothing that he had purchased. While it would be destroyed later, more than likely, he could always repair it, or just get another set. It wasn't entirely expensive. So, with a quick dispersal of his spiritual energy, he had the dome around him dissolve, just in time for Mirja to come down.

The coy smile and body language caused Henrex's cheeks to turn red by the slightest, before returning to normal. As she sat down and asked him what he wanted, especially this early, and during this time where no one was present.

"A request brings me here, Mirja. I want you to help me with training. I've been foolish, and have focused on gaining power. Currently...my energy levels are high. However, my skill levels are....well, to put things simply, they're shit. I need to get better. I know that you have at least two of the things that I wish to get better in. Speed, and strength. I also need to train in Hoho. Not entirely sure if you've got a good amount of skill in that. But, those are my reasons. I've been slacking with training my skills. And, I need a bit of help.

Placing his hands on the table, fingers interlocked, the two crimson eyes of the male slid open, staring Mirja in the eyes. It would most likely be hardly noticeable that his eye color had changed. But, she would definitely see the change that had come upon the Raven. He had matured. He had changed. But there were still things that would never die. Gazing into the silver eyes of the Wolf, he awaited his response. Hopefully, she would accept. Even better, perhaps there was something that he could help her with, and they would both benefit from this little event.

Mirja, The Mad Wolf

Scratching her wolf ear softly, she tried to get why exactly Iko was barking at her inside her head. Probably because she wanted to go blow the absolute crap out of that base she had heard about from the commander before snapping his neck in such a glorious manner. Still, Hvit was there, so Mirja asked her to provide comfort, they would be moving out soon. Something smelled familiar, new but also familiar, like the cousin of a technique she had recently developed. But she had developed a lot of new techniques and so she hadn't a good platform to stand on when figuring out what, exactly the strange smell was.

Instead, she focused on Henrex, and his plea. He seemed to want training, as he had been focusing on gaining power without skill. She wondered how he managed to do that, but it was probably a Shinigami thing for those who actually had Reiatsu. Mirja gained her power from her skill, and the rest just sort of happened normally. Her body got denser, her fists got stronger, and it was all wonderfully good. So she pondered the Raven for a moment, entirely unsure how to train him in this manner if she didn't know how he developed himself. But then that was thrown out of the window and she just decided to do it the way she always did.

"Ok, Hoho is not quite my area of expertise. I have enough skill to use Molting Cicada efficiently. But, I have recently made a friend who was trained by Yoruichi herself, so if anyone can help you in that area, I am dam sure she can. As for the rest of it, strength, and speed, and whatnot. That is something that is best worked out at with serious training. And occasionally field practice, which is what we are going for~" She exclaimed, donning her Vizard mask and staring at him with those creepy black-and-yellow eyes.

"The plan here, is that you run. And I chase you. If I catch you, I will break a random bone, that will be decided upon when I catch you. Flash Step at all, and I will break three. This is a test of your own bodily speed. And be open for changing course, I will be leading you somewhere with all this. Now, you've got a three second head-start so I don't immediately catch you. Run" Her voice was elderich and rather unnerving thanks to the mask, and the smile that she had couldn't be seen behind it, but the intent was clear. Henrex needed to run away or get pummeled by Mirja, the perfect training for someone like her. It was crude, crass, and appeared to have very little in the way of actual training while being pretty decent as training montages went. It would certainly push his body beyond what it was normally subjected to.
'Have I ever told you how much I love you training exercises?' Hvit asked.
'No, I don't think you have, but thank you for the compliment' Mirja replied, waiting for the three seconds to pass so she could start chasing, her feral wolf blood heated at the thought of a chase.

'Doing this my way' he said. Mirja gave him a bored glare that could be seen even through her mask as he did his thing and headed outside to do Henrex things. She followed, at a saunter, and then when he was out there just stared at him. And stared. He had his energy orbs and his tonfa and his game face like he was actually going to start a fight in the middle of Vastime.
"Have you replaced me as your daily head puncher? I'm just trying to figure out exactly why you are so stupid all of a sudden" she said, her arms crossed and her voice eldritch through the mask.

'Be nice to him' Hvit said, clearly trying to ease the tension of the situation.
'Why?' Mirja replied, and then a faultered noise came from Hvit.
'I....good question, I'll get back to you' Hvit then went to go look up why, so Mirja turned her full attention to Henrex. And it was quite the ominous attention. The wolf girl seemed to grow taller and broader, and a pressure unlike Reiatsu would bare down on the focus of her unbridled attention. Her casual, arm-crossed stance was something far more than it appeared.

"One; we are not starting a fight in the middle of the street, it just isn't happening. Two; if you want to ruin my carefully laid out training plans, then you are welcome to go find someone else to train with, but as you have already proven, your way sucks. If it didn't suck you wouldn't be here asking for my help training. And three; One ten is better than four twos, so if you can swallow your male pride and stick your ego-peen back in your pants for a second, we are going to do this how I say we are going to do this. You came to me for help, so clearly you must think I am better than you, which means I know how to do this better than you. So decided quickly" She had a cold, sharp tone, clearly in no mood for any of Henrex's Henrexing today.

"I used to be so full of patience and mercy. But I have neither these days, so hurry up"

Song: Deja Vu - By: Lolia - Word Count: 580

Henrex was speaking, and despite seeing his lips move, she couldn't hear what was being said. Just 'waahhh waahhh waahhh' droning on and on into infinity. Mirja was slightly worried at that, if she couldn't hear a person then how would she be able to reply? Maybe Henrex was mocking her? Bastard, that would be just like him, to mock her in this situation. So she decided to punch his face in for mocking her and teach him that she wasn't going to be mocked. However, before she even moved, his voice returned to normal and she was back in business. No breaking of his limbs, he said. In a manner that made it seem as if it was only Mirja who was hearing the drone and he was actually saying words. That, was something to look into at a later date.

"Ohh, but if you don't have fear of what is behind you, then how can I be assured that you are going as fast as you possibly can? Still, I guess I can adapt. It's you that you are skimping out on if you don't run as fast as you can, I guess. Flash Step is for later with someone who knows how to do it. This, is here and now. Rely on your own body, Henrex. Or lose it" She didn't say the last part as a threat, just as an observation. And then she flicked her hand. "Well, go on then, run. I'll direct you where we need to go once we get out of Africa. For now, just run. I want to get there today" she told him, as if running five thousand miles in less than a single day was only the start of this training exercise. Knowing Mirja, and the way she viewed physical activity, it probably was, at that.
