Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus] Empty Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus]

Sun Jun 18, 2017 10:39 am

"…"

The little skeleton man looked up into the clouds, his strange dot-like eyes tracing the sky. "…Huh…" He let out, trudging behind the toddler who was traipsing along. The white haired boy was giggling as he went, enjoying being out and about with Uncle Sonny. He was a very peculiar child, with a cable made out of flesh extending from the back of his neck. This cable went into his pocket, where a ball like sphere was jutting out of the pajama like material.

The kid had told Sonny that he really, really wanted to go out. When he looked at the bony man with those eyes… what was he supposed to do? So the two of them had gone out, even though the boy's father did not know where they went. Sonny might work for the man who kept Mexico secure, but that did not mean that he believed everything he did was right.

"Watch out, kid… you've heard the one about the chicken crossing the road, right?" He asked, making the boy turn around. What he received in exchange was a large amount of gibberish, happy babbling of a toddler. He looked up at Sonny with wide eyes. Man, when he looks at me like that I can't help but smile a bit. He thought to himself, reaching his hands up and together. "He got to the other side." While the kid was unlikely to understand this slightly twisted sense of humor, he liked that Sonny clapped his hands together, so the boy began clapping his together as well.

Then, the small child did not pay attention as he turned around… and tripped on the broken up side walk, falling on the ground. The impact damage scared him, shaking him. "Rade!" The skeleton called out, running over to the boy. Rasuca's mouth was open wide, and the tears began to flow as he began crying very loudly. This would attract the attention of all the individuals int eh street.

"H-hey, kid… kid!" He whispered, not sure what to do. He reached his bony fingers out, placing them on the child's shoulder. His bony digits did not feel like fingers, not at all, and the child began crying louder. Oh no… what was it that he told me about if he starts crying…? Sonny paused for a moment, standing up again above the child.

The smile that he permanently wore was still plastered to his face as the skeleton man loomed over the crying child. He wore a blue jacket with quite a lot of fluff around its collar, with a white t-shirt on underneath. On his legs were a pair of basketball shorts, and on his feet were pajama slippers. People began muttering about his appearance, individuals seeming scared at the skeleton that was standing above the child with such a gruesome smile.

Without being sure what else to do, Sonny reached down, trying to pick up Rade… and that is when the events to transpire would begin…

Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus] Empty Re: Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus]

In Japan, more specifically Kyoto, the strangest individuals were those who dressed oddly or had some sort of weird power or ability. In the business sector, which is where a young man named Jian Yijun spent most of his time, "strange" wasn't really a thing. People bustled about busily wearing drab suits and carrying black or brown suitcases. Not exactly anything the average person would look twice at. Though for someone like Jian this was a great benefit of living here as strange sometimes meant bad, but for someone only in his mid-20's it wasn't exactly the most fun environment ever.

For the past two days Jian "Kai" Yijun had been vacationing in a foreign land, something he had not done since he was just a boy. Though usually Kai would detest spending time away from work, as of late he'd been desperate for any kind of thrill or something to give him some meaning outside of just career success. This is what led him to move outside his comfort zone, traveling to a resort in Mexico for week of relaxation and exploration.

The marketplace near the resort was swarming with tourists and locals alike, all flitting about searching for a great deal or some trinket to take home. Dry heat radiated from the bright fireball in the sky, blanketing the city in sunlight and near-desert warmth. Dust shot up from behind the wheels of cars as they drove on the hot concrete caked in dirt. The roads were in good shape despite the old, crumbling sidewalks on either side of them.

It was on one of these streets Kai found himself confronted with a rather peculiar scene: What seemed to be a skeleton man wearing a hoodie, shorts, and most strangely a pair of slippers, was looming over a very young, sobbing child. With a, by any definition of the word, creepy smile on the skeleton's face it seemed as if it might be attacking the boy.

What on earth... Kai acted quickly, drawing forth a small handheld device in the shape of a cylinder from the left side inner pocket of his jacket. Using the band on the gadget, he strapped it to his left wrist and pressed a button on its end in a single smooth motion. This caused the machine to flash a light for about a half second while at the same time another light flashed in Kai's right hand causing a futuristic black handgun to appear in said hand. In a few more seconds the young man clad in a green suit cut the distance between himself and his target to just a few yards, after which he lifted the gun and aimed it directly at the skeleton in front of him. "Hey! Whoever, whatever, you are! Stop what you're doing or I'll shoot!"

Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus] Empty Re: Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus]

The skeleton froze, glancing over at the man who had demanded his attention. Well that's not good.. He thought to himself, noting the gun on his hand. Definitely not good, not good at all. The smile did not go away from his face, though. Guess I gotta protect the kid, first.

Without thinking any more about it, Sonny held up both hands, seemingly in surrender. The skeletal hands could be seen… before Sonny disappeared, reappearing within the man's guard. Held in each hand was a small chip, pure white in color. Flicking both of his thumbs forwards, Sonny released the chips… which then stuck out, growing rapidly as they turned into full on bones. One of them moved outwards, becoming a rod that would make it impossible to hold a gun straight. The other one was placed vertically, in such a manner as to impact into the man's chin because of its expansion.

From there, Sonny disappeared again, as quickly as he had flashed in front of the man for that single action. Each movement he made was calculated, practiced, precise. "Huh… Sorry if it's a bit early, but I wouldn't want anyone… triggering anymore." He told the man, making a quite awful pun at the expense of the man he was now leaning against. Sonny did not bother to answer his question about the child. After all, as far as he was concerned… it really did not matter that much.

What mattered was that this guy was being aggressive towards them, and that meant that Sonny would have to deal with him. That is what his experience told him would be the best way to handle the situation. "But, uh, be careful where you step." He told the man, drawing his hands out of his sleeves as he threw three chips down on either side of the man's back.

From here, more bones would sprout out of the ground, creating a kind of teepee with the man in the center. They grew relatively quickly, as if they were sealed up and ready to burst. Sonny stepped away from his position, turning back around to face the man who had come at him so recklessly. Nice sense of justice, guy. Sonny could understand why he reacted the way he did, what with the way he looked. "So are you saying… that you've got a bone to pick with me, kid?"

Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus] Empty Re: Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus]

Kai kept staring at the strange skeleton man in front of him as its bony hands reached into the sky signifying his surrender. Thankfully it seemed this creepy thing understood the situation it was in and didn't plan on going down fighting. This very much pleased Kai as he wasn't exactly a trained warrior or anything even remotely similar. To him an end to conflict before it even really begins would be the optimal result of his interference in this rather strange situation.

Unfortunately things would not go as smoothly as Kai had hoped. In the blink of an eye the skeleton man had disappeared and then reappeared just a few inches away from the young man. Kai watched as the skeleton flicked chips of what seemed to be bone at him, both of which grew rapidly. One knocked his right hand away and prevented him from reacting with the gun he held while the other hit Kai's chin and knocked his head up, causing pain to reverberate through his jaw.

Again his opponent moved quicker than his eyes could keep up with, this time giving him a good position to send three more bone chips at Kai which promptly grew and elongated around him. Though still reeling a bit from the earlier attack, Kai was a bit more ready this time which gave him just barely enough time to reactivate the device still strapped to his left wrist. This time a light flashed in his left hand right before a magnificently ornate guandao, or polearm type weapon, appeared where the light had been. This tremendous weapon was both durable and sharp allowing it to survive in harsh combat like this specific instance.

Dropping low, Kai lifted his right hand and shot an energy-infused round from his handgun right through one of the bones that was growing around him. This weakened the calcified object created by his enemy enough for Kai to break right through it by swinging his other weapon, Erphtal, at it. The moment this happened Kai sent the legendary Chinese weapon back into his wrist device and dove out of the "teepee" the skeleton had tried constructing around him through the newly opened gap. At the end of this dive Kai positioned himself in one smooth motion so he was now kneeling on his right knee facing the skeleton man and as fast as he could lifted his handgun up and aimed a shot directly at the creature's right leg, hoping to slow the thing down without necessarily killing, or he figured killing again, it.

Artist: BRS: AOST - Song: Track 4; Distorted Town - Word Count:

Calm. Something that was highly unusual within the 35th layer of Hell. Between Bid'Daum himself and the denizens of his domain this particular layer rarely sees such a calm period. The reason for this is quite simple, upon returning from the moon the Rakshasa was quick to return to his chambers. Since then none, even his own Hell Beast, had been allowed access to his chambers. Until now.

Gwen, finally fed up with Bid'Daum's sulking, decided it was time for him to leave his room and get over what had occurred on Earth's moon. With that thought in mind the female Hell Beast simply strode up to Bid'Daum's sleeping form and took action. Immediately the tell-tale dark red tone of Astitva Kī Baṛhata would engulf the males form before it and Bid'Daum merely fading away in a fashion similar to the static on a disrupted tv if one were to turn it off. As this occurred Gwen would merely pick a random location on a nearby globe of Earth before sending Bid'Daum there with Astitva Kī Baṛhata.

Upon completion of the technique on her end Gwen would resume her usual duties within the 35th layer, content with leaving Bid'Daum up to his own devices... Where ever she had sent him.

Meanwhile on Earth a confrontation was occurring between an older male, a child, and a skeletal figure. Above said confrontation static would flicker to life in mid air, a humanoid form appearing to expand from the center outwards as Astitva Kī Baṛhata brought Bid'Daum into the world of humans. As suddenly as it would appear the static would vanish, leaving in its stead the form of Bid'Daum only for gravity to take effect and causing the slumbering Rakshasa to plummet to the streets below. For the sake of those nearby they should hope the Voracious Prince awakens in a decent mood, less they become his next meal.

"You have all kinds of toys, huh?" He asked the guy, the casual smile still plastered on his face as he watched the man pull out yet another weapon from nowhere. "I guess that one will help if you want to get to the point." The skeleton man cracked another pun at Kai's expense, watching how he dealt with the little trap he had made.

"I hate to cut away from the action for a moment, but hey. I'm Sonny. I'm a Skeleton." Sonny introduced himself, his eyes looking away from Kai and into empty space, seemingly distracted by… nothing. He was not looking at Kai as the man dove down in front of the skeleton, but then both dot-like eyes shifted to the man on the ground.

Sonny's right leg shifted ever so slightly, his footwork seeming almost lazy. With the fire of the shot, Sonny's body shifted, reappearing two inches to the left of the bullet. "Huh, you trying to end this with a bang?" He asked, his eyes narrowing slightly. The heat from the gun had brushed against his leg, and that seemed to bother him.. Just the heat from the barrel. Sonny kept going, though, opening his hand as more of the little chips began falling out. Those little chips had likely taken on a different emotional connection for Kai, considering they had already slammed into his chin. Quite a memorable experience. Sonny's fingers had one dropped directly on top of Kai's body, another into the dirt beneath his own feet. He had three more shot into the ground on every side of Kai, and once they were all in the dirt they began to grow. If Kai didn't find a way to get himself out of that situation…

The bone beneath Sonny rose him up into the air, with the same length as the other three around Kai's body. The fourth bone would expand on top of him, trying to pin him down into the ground as it situated itself like a mesh with the two bones on his side. "Sorry, it looked like you needed some more spine." Sonny called down at him, reaching into his coat pockets as he drew out more of the little bone chips. He was interested by the man. He definitely seemed to have a hero's spirit. Sonny wanted to see how he would react to such a situation.

Meanwhile… the white haired boy had fallen silent, watching the fight.

Hmm… Layer…? Sonny looked upwards, perhaps distracted for a moment from pinning down Kai, or at least trying to. He winced as the figure smashed into the pavement, putting his hands in his pockets. Layer 35… uh oh… Did I kill that guy…? Is he going to want revenge…? Do I need to get the kid out of here, or the little hero? Random thoughts were flitting through Sonny's head as he observed the guy who had just plunged in. Yaknow, maybe I'll get lucky. Maybe he won't recognize me. Maybe he's never heard of me…

Sonny did not know who the guy was or how he had got here, but there was no mistaking that sense of the Hell Layer having just covered him. Sonny had spent… some time in that lost space. There were a few ones who he could recognize at a glance… and Layer 35 was one of them. He was pretty sure that was a bad thing… because the strong impression he had left on them was like the one they had left on him, back when he still had his skin…

Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus] Empty Re: Bones to Pick [Kai/Horus]

After listening to the skeleton man introduce himself as Sonny, Kai was a little caught off-guard. This entire time the weirdo standing in front of him, who just dodged a frickin bullet, had been making bad puns and acting like an actual person. The young man had not stopped to consider maybe what he had first seen to draw himself into this situation wasn't quite what he thought. Maybe Sonny hadn't been scaring the boy, maybe the kid was just being a toddler. You know, like toddlers do. It's not like Sonny had really tried to kill anyone yet, and Kai had no doubt in mind if the skeleton wanted to kill him he'd be able to.

He didn't really have time to sit around debating with himself though as Sonny created more of his little super-grow bone chips above and below him. Knowing what would happen if he sat around and allowed himself to get caught between them, Kai immediately dodged out of the way by running away from the scene until reaching the corner of a building only a few meters away. Kai peered around the corner and observed what would have happened had he stayed as the bones grew to full size. He shuddered at what he saw. If he got caught again by Sonny's bones he would likely be crushed or taken out of the equation entirely. Scary stuff... Kai thought to himself.

Static seemed to appear in mid-air above his opponent, and the only thing Kai thought was this skeleton man had more up his sleeves than just bones. That is of course until a strange-looking white haired man appeared and, almost comically, dropped to the ground. Is...is he sleeping? This wasn't some ordinary man, though this was perhaps abundantly clear merely because of how he entered the fray. When Kai looked at him he got a sinking feeling as the man seemed to give off a sinister aura even while apparently napping. "I'm in way over my head." he mumbled to himself.

Taking stock of the current situation he had somehow landed himself in, Kai thought about what he could to get out or resolve it. If he just ran away he would probably survive, but if his initial assessment about Sonny was correct then that little kid would still be in serious trouble. Running back in wasn't really an option either as the skeleton was clearly his superior in combat and this newcomer seemed pretty dangerous to and he hadn't even woken up yet. The only option was a surprise attack, something that could at least remove this new obstacle before things really got messy.

With this in mind Kai shifted so he was no longer behind the building corner and was aiming his high-powered handgun at his enemy again. This time however the barrel of his M-13 Mantis was lined up square with the newcomer's head, a shot Kai could easily make with good accuracy from where he was. Squeezing the trigger, a loud BANG! resounded through the area as an energy-coated round capable of damaging fearsome spiritual beings launched from Kai's weapon at over two thousand kilometers an hour directly at the white-haired man's head. Kai sincerely hoped this would hit...

Artist: BRS: AOST - Song: Track 4; Distorted Town - Word Count:

Despite the height he had appeared at the fall Bid'Daum had taken before impacting the pavement seemed to hardly affect him, if at all. Groaning out of sheer annoyance Bid'Daum would slowly open his eyes before taking stock of his surroundings. Without moving his head in the slightest the rakshasa was able to determine two main things, the first being that he was definitely in the human's realm, and the second being the two opposing beings he had dropped in on.

Suddenly something that the rakshasa definitely would not have expected occurred. A human.. An insect of a human.. dared to point a weapon his way before opening fire. The rage Bid'Daum felt was almost instant and more than enough to momentarily wipe Sonny from his mind. Merely turning his head the white haired male would simply open his mouth before inhaling. The effect was instant, the bullet Kai had fired found itself swiftly consumed as if but a snack. With a growl the open eyes of the rakshasa would land upon Kai while an arm swung out to the side to find his sword... Which was not there. "GWEEEEENNN! YOU BITCH!!!" the voice of Bid'Daum would suddenly roar out.

Rather than thinking rationally and summoning his missing weapon to him, or merely going to retrieve it himself, Bid'Daum opted for the more satisfying option. He had two beings here, and one had already picked a fight with him. The perfect chance to take out his growing anger, and perhaps grab a bite to eat as well.

With the decision made the rakshasa's form would rise from the pavement as he got to his feet. Brushing himself clean of any dust and debris Bid'Daum turned to face Kai. "You would be the one.. No.. the fool, who dare attack me?" He would question the human despite already knowing the answer. Taking several steps forward the demon would continue on, "Come then insect. Try not to become my meal!". Bid'Daum's steps would continue to carry him closer to Kai while he fought the temptation to outright kill the man.
