Alfonso

Definitely not a shrine [Open] 6EdIfMt

Song: Reign Of The Dark | Artist: Adrian von Zielger | Word Count: 655

The view from the shrine on the edge of northern Karakura was nothing short of beautiful. The dusky setting backdrop makes it all the more appealing, a perfect backdrop for an evening picnic. With Karakura’s sculptured and structured to the point of efficiency and well thought out. A far cry from the chaotic and free-flowing structure of the rural lands that the hunter distantly remembers and far superior compared to the barren wasteland that is Hueco Mundo.

Where the sun never rises and the full moon forever illuminate what madness lies on the land of the dead. Alfonso was tired of its monotonous scenery and the chores that bring it: find and hunt the hollows. Their hiding spot was small, they run to the forest, looking for their sanctuary among the Gillians, hide in a cavern somewhere or dug themselves a grave in amidst the deserts.

He was bored of them. Ever since some powerful overlord lost his nuts and razed the only building in the desert and disbanded the little army, the place holds very little value for him. The arrancar needed something to sustain his boredom at bay.

Now here, an innocuous looking shrine so far out from Karakura, had caught his curiosity. He admired the tidiness and the layout of the land devoted to Kami for good harvest. It was long past the age where the shrine were used to pray for good harvest, but Alfonsohad seen how popular it was during the day. He tends to avoid it day time fearing that his presence may caught trouble as time goes on.

The concealed Arrancar was making a poor attempt to stifle his approach. Standing upright and with pieces of leather around his heavily padded dark attire clashed against his ‘zanpakutou’. He skipped past the stairs, hopping from three steps of stairs as he does so; he gazed momentarily at the gate. Taller than your average house, Torii was enough to give further look before passing by.

"Why did they make the gate so tall?"
The gunman from the dark world muses to himself, the helmet shift to face the long, paved road – spotless, it should be considering fall hasn’t arrived yet. He made his first step on the road rather gingerly. The even paved footpath was all alien to him. For a moment, he wanted to sprint down towards the inner garden of the well maintained shrine, but it seems so far to walk. Maybe it won’t if he used sonido, shortening the distance between where he is to the shrine.

So he sprints. His upper body remained still to keep the sword in place his movement was drilled, never both foot hits the ground, he became so immersed from his sprint, he let out a soft pant as the weight of the padded coat ply the added weight to his knees. The sword swayed side to side as his arms assist with the balance and to empower the movement of his sprint.

Then there whistles. Over the top and into the hell - come storm and hail. Just like his sprint, just like the red skies that complements the rippled glint. He looked to his right and the young adult looked back at him with dread on his face. It was clear as day as he uttered these words.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be right behind you.”

He stopped. Startled and rooted. The Arrancar quaked as the shrill noise rings through him. The Tinnitus was a dreadful thing, always persistent and exists to second guess – worse when foul memories creep up on you. Just who these memories belong to, why he still gets these unknown pasts that haunt him?

He was found staring at the statue with the weird face with question that lingers in his mind.

It had been a good day to visit a shrine. Particularly, a shrine located in the Northern most corner of Karakura. It was one built centuries ago, dedicated to one of the Seven Lucky Gods. Daikokuten, the god of wealth though believers didn’t pray for riches, but a good harvest. She had read tales of how an in age where humans were generally ignorant of the supernatural beings that lurked among them, that many people would gather at the shrine and pray for a good harvest. However, with the advancement in technology and more humans becoming aware of the forces that plagued the world, the custom of praying to deities had become outdated and she knew of few people who still did it. Despite that, people still frequented the temples and shrines dedicated to these entities, taking part of the annually festivities when such things occurred and just taking a look when there were none.

Anyway, her decision to visit Daikokuten’s shrine had not been planned. It had been, surprisingly, a spur of the moment decision, one she had made while looking into the eyes of her youngest child, Rin. Somehow, someway, the five month old - she certainly didn’t look it - had found out about the various temples that were still scattered across Karakura. The excitement and curiosity that had shone in her large, blue eyes had been adorable and with the meeting with her older sister having been cut short and a whole day to themselves, Kazumi had seen no harm in indulging her child. After all, it would be very educational and expand on her child’s knowledge of the world which she would soak up like a sponge.

So, after purchasing some food from a local mart, the two had gone off to the shrine to pay their respect to the deity once believed capable of deciding rather or not the country would see a good harvest. She really hadn’t planned to stay very long. Just long enough to satisfy Rin’s curiosity before going home. How was she to know that her daughter would decide that she needed to explore every, last inch of the temple? It was really bizarre to the young mother, as she had expected her child to become bored of the place within the hour. However, by some miracle, they ended up staying well pass everyone else. Only when dusk arrived did she decide that it was time to return home before her wife grew concerned.

However, she decided that one more stop could not harm them and besides, it was on their way out anyways. She holds Rin as she approaches the statue - she feared the girl would run off if she didn’t. With how late it was, Kazumi doesn’t expect anyone else to be in the area, however it seemed that they were not alone. There, in front of the statue, stood a male who could easily pass for mid to late twenties by her estimate. She doesn’t stop her advances. Instead, she continues to walk towards the statue and thus him. She sees no reason to be rude, and thus, decides to greet him:

“Evening, sir.”

She says with a smile and a slight wave.

“Final stop on the tour? Or just got here?”

WHITE PHANTOM

Alfonso

Definitely not a shrine [Open] 6EdIfMt

Song: Reign Of The Dark | Artist: Adrian von Zielger | Word Count: 655

A woman approached Alfonso, a human may it add. The females ditzy like appearance who's accompanist a child – ugh, was enough to make the man let out a reverbed grizzle in guise of a groan.

“In a cat’s eye, all things belong to cat,” the proverbs loosed from its lips – and in English. Twisted and warped through the makeshift helmet that hides its face from the world. Although clear, the demonic voice provide the air of hiss and low growling tone at start before sailing away through the amplified seas. Who knows what its gender by its voice – just the hiss of neutrality and soulless tone provides what little clue it smears throughout the air. So, does she, the human owns this temple? Even with the mask hiding its identity, the Arrancar could not resist to roll its eye by this conclusion. It wanted to ignore her and just focus on the temple beast, the Komainu – a lion dog like beast that’s protects the temple along with its twin – to ward off evil spirits from the inner parts of temple.

Well, it already knows that it is false, lest the Lion dogs prey and feast upon its flesh. Alfonso couldn’t help but admire the craft, the design and the fact that the dogs like entity was the concept of protection and ward. Something that it couldn’t help but feel all warmed up by this. Its love of dogs led to it planting its hand against the large stony guardian.

A stream of unknown words, words of another culture fills the air like a disturbed bees nest. What is she, the woman? With the tilt of its head, it began to realize that certain words are familiar. Japanese, the land of the rising sun, culture that was lost on the Negative soul, but it can be salvaged. It heavily padded palm, touching the stone guardian moved to show her its palm, a sign of pause with a subtle hint of shake to stress the moderate gravity of the situation. With the sword bound against its padded attire, its free hand swooped to the tattered, worn satchel bag and with it, the tattered hardcover book with spine stripped to the sinews. It began to mutter one or two word, repeating some of these words, seeking out what it really means. Did she approach with such hostility? No, it can’t be. Its form remains static, part from the hands flicking through pages, searching for the word, the words copied from the woman broke down into simple syllable, repeating with the constant air of hiss when spoke until finally seeks out the word that it desired.

It has no intention to fight, but rather struggling to understand what she was saying. The word constantly streams over and over in its mind but to no avail. Stumped and clueless, The Arrancar gazed back at the woman only to be met with a shrug and a shake of its hands.

“Greetings, young lady and yes this is I've just arrived here here" as he resorted to Turkish proverb, Alfonso spoke in English to further cement its flaws in socializing someone in an unknown country. It sees the world through a small slit from the helmet seeing this woman did provide a fresh welcoming attraction to its sight.

Even if it ends with communication breakdown and a fight, It’s better than hunting in a droll, empty environment like Hueco Mundo.

Kazumi cannot help but hold her daughter tighter. She would have to be both blind and deaf to not feel a little concern. With ominous sounds being emitted from the strangers vicinity. It definitely didn’t aspire confidence in her, but she doesn’t decide to walk off. After all, she was in Karakura, one of the safest regions in the world and though the stranger seemed out of place, if he was a threat those who guarded the city would have descended upon him. So, with that in mind, she loosens her grip - which Rin must’ve appreciated - and continued to wait.

Eventually, he would answer, though not in Japanese. If she had been anyone else, that would have definitely been a problem, but luckily - or unluckily for him - she knew multiple languages and English was amongst them - they both would have been unlucky if it had been Turkish. She grins, obviously pleased to receive an answer before stating:

“It sort of late. Some of the exhibits closed up for the night, but there are many other statues like this one all ‘bout the temple. Though, I do recommend coming tomorrow when you can see everything. It’s quite nice and exciting.”

She pauses for a moment before saying, out of curiosity:

“Why visit so late, sir? It just… odd, you know?”

White Phantom

Alfonso

The woman although he was lucky that the woman spoke the same language as him he did had a quick thiught in his mind Why don’t they just make it simple and have one universal language, it mused, with the hand on the muzzle of the now revealed before looking at the statue once more It had long concluded the fact that it is a statue of a strange cat breed but why does it feel like it wanted the touch it? What’s so special about it?

“Animal…”

Alfonso responded to the question without reciting quote or proverbs and in heavily accentuated voice. The tone masked, clouded behind grizzled behind layers of his helmet. The heavy metallic hollowed tone of Scotland sings out into the atmosphere, like orator and body sized mirror in a small dinky bed and breakfast room.

“I usually come in late too get a better look at the statue, besides having someone give a short ass history about the statue and people taking pictures sickens me honestly” Alfonso scanned the area It speaks once more. It had also concluded that this is also a Zoo. After all… all these statues of obviously provide a blunt hint that this place holds strange exotic animals that would please the hunter’s knowledge – it is in an unknown land, with people. What makes it even strange is that all it witnessed other than humans – and unsettling amount of humans packed in a town like sardines, perhaps far too much for one’s liking the rural lands.

Before seeing off in the distance a man on the sidewalk walking with his dog the dog was a german shepard wearing a black collar around it's neck seeing as many children were asking to pet the dog but the owner declined and he appeared to be late for something. Whatever it was it wasn't alfonso's business but t did leave him wondering

“Too long since I saw a dog,” he cleared his throat, showing signs of discomfort and the strain on its voice, but still muster a strong, powering voice, ridding the Scottish tone, reciting another proverbs that he picked up from a book, “The Best thing about a man is his dog.”

Speaking of books, he noticed that the pouch of itself has gotten rather light lately. What was the last book it had, something to do with some vampire and werewolves along with a human lover. Such drivel. The first book it had been met with a violent end and there were three more of it? It began to wonder if modern day has made writers more terrible, become so out of touch on conveying expressions, actions and reaction on characters.

The helmet tilts and turns to the woman, asking her another question with a distorted tone with an air of Scottish’s song:

"My aplogizes i forgot to introduce myself, the name's Alfonso." he greeted with a bow before looking at the young child next to the woman in front of her

"And who's this little one here?"

Kazumi nods in understanding. Huge crowds being led by a tour guide whose knowledge of the figures sometimes amounted to what they managed to memorize on some pamphlet didn’t appeal to everyone. Personally, she preferred touring places on her own. Not only could she go at her own pace, but she also wasn’t subjected to any terrible jokes the tour guide may give. However, she still thought it best to go in the morning rather than after dusk, but that was simply a preference. So, to an extent, she could sympathize with the man and decides that questioning him further on that particular matter was pointless.

She takes a quick look at Rin, or at least she meant to, but seeing that her daughter’s focus was on something other than the stranger or her, she cannot help but follow her gaze. Kazumi understands what had stolen the child’s attention upon seeing the dog. She doesn’t let the child go though, the blonde seeming content with just staring. She returns her attention to the man, his voice having snapped her out of her reveries. She blinks several times, her mind taking a moment to process his words before she finds herself nodding in agreement.

“They are a good indication of what a person is like.”

She shrugs her shoulders. She considers rather or not this was the place to end their interaction. After all, it was about time she put Rin to sleep, but before she could even think about bidding the man a good night, he speaks.

“Ah. Nice to meet your acquaintance, Mr. Alfonso.”

However, before she could introduce her daughter, nonetheless herself, she’s interrupted by said little one.

Definitely not a shrine [Open] Photo

“Rin! Nice ta meet, mister.”

She declares - and louder than needed in Kazumi opinion. However, she’s content in knowing that her daughter wasn’t afraid to speak up, especially when she was being discussed. She ruffles the child’s hair, much to Rin’s satisfaction, before introducing herself:

“And I am Kazumi.”

She pauses for a moment before adding:

“If we are keeping you, we don’t mind leaving. We just came to see the final statue before heading home. But… if you are looking for anything in particular, I’d be happy to point you in the right direction.”

He watched as the female lost her attention towards him and looked at her child instead child before her as the child in question was staring at the dog walking along the sidewalk before averting her eyes back at him.

However, before she could introduce herself the little one next too her interrupted and answered with a calling herself Rin; Alfonso did admit the child did have a lot of joy in pride within herself he could relate to the child in a way. Before placing her hand ontop of her child messing up the hair in the process.

Kazumi and Rin huh.. before letting out a small chuckle in all honestly he did enjoy the company of these two, although they were presumably about to head off he got a good impression from the both of them. A young child that reminded him of himself growing up filled with enthusiasm and introducing herself in a weird but nice way. Whilst the mom a nurturing kind individual who'd do anything too make her daughter happy.

Before they would part ways Kazumi asked Alfonso whether or not he had anymore questions or concerns regarding the shrine otherwise they'd part ways. He wasn't going to intrude on their business so it's be best to end the conversation and meet them another day, who knows maybe they can develop a bond?

"No thanks but, It was nice meeting you both, enjoy the rest of your night.". And with that Alfonso walked off into the distance until he was nothing more than a speck
