Damn it... That was the word Ritsuko said in her head when she saw her balls of raining fire go crashing down onto Kai only to have them be turned into small explosions of green and red. One things for sure is that he's prepared for any given situation and she admires him for that, both of their abilities have the potential to input maximum damage but put a massive strain on one's body. Ritsuko began feeling the effects of her form almost deteriorating her magic book began flickering her eyes began to change back to their usual blue, sweat beading down her face and her arms tensing up.

Ritsuko had to end this quickly and fast before she's barbecued...with no other choice she had to go all out as well

"Harmony!" Her body began to glow into a yellow outline giving her the chance to dodge Kai's attack with her increased speed, however she barely made it by the skin of her teeth, she could feel a burning sensation come from her right leg

Ritsuko takes the tip of her sword, and focuses a small portion of fire to it. She then stabbed the sword into the ground allowing the energy with in the fire to expand into a large circle being 5 meters in diameter or 15 feet. This circle will also increase the power of her solar abilities by 2x.

"I better end this quickly, put all of my faith into this last attack...Heatoro Flames!" the once red/yellow fire began to intensify with great force and power becoming more ferocious. Hopefully her improved attack will clash with Kai's own..if not she'd be completely drained and reverted back to her normal form exhausted.

As his own pillar of flames raged, Kai watched Ritsuko as she seemed to...flicker? Almost there, then! he thought to himself as the realization of this battle nearing its end became clear. Though short, both fighters had been pushing themselves to their limits in order to get the most out of this bout. For Kai this meant using his Jade Dragon's Flames on a magnitude previously unknown to him. The flexible pillar he'd created was testament to this fact.

Kai groaned with frustration when Ritsuko barely dodged out of the way of his flames, suffering burns to her leg in the process. Every second he kept this attack going only intensified the growing strain on every inch of his body. Turning the pillar's direction midair just piled onto his exhaustion, but even feeling like at any minute he could drop to his knees unable to continue on didn't matter to Kai. All that mattered was putting forth every atom of power he was capable of producing to show himself what he was truly capable of.

When Ritsuko landed and produced her own attack of flames, Kai knew it was make or break time. His pillar of fire turned and shot directly toward his opponent's attack until they collided about halfway between the fighters, a bright white shining light being created at the point of contact. The heat being put off by this struggle of fire reduced the ground below to little more than ash and sapped all remaining water from the area. Kai pushed forward with everything he had in hopes of overtaking and overcoming his foe to prove not just his own ability, but to reach heights he'd never known. However exhaustion seemed to be setting in and for just a moment Kai felt like it was all over...

Right then the last of the flame pillar was used up and all of Kai's flames disappeared as if they'd never been there in the first place, allowing Ritsuko's own fire to surge forth toward the Vanguard Warden. The bright crimson of her flames consumed his vision, blocking out everything else and causing a quiet peace to overtake Kai. Is this truly the limit of my strength...? How can I possibly protect anyone with just this? No.....this isn't all I can do! "JADE DRAGON'S ROAR!!" Upon yelling this out Kai's hands folded into fists as he placed them on his chest before shooting both of them forward with his index and middle fingers pointed out toward Ritsuko's fire. An explosion of green fire covered Kai's entire body for just a moment, after which it burst out of him in a tidal wave of incineration. This new blast of flames seemed to take the rough shape of an oriental dragon so large it appeared to devour Ritsuko's attack like it was little more than a snack. The sheer force of the raging inferno Kai had created even sounded like a dragon's scream, loud enough to block out almost all other sounds. Instead of crashing into his opponent and potentially killing her if it hit, Kai turned it upward at the last minute and sent it into the sky until releasing the flames, causing the fire construct to quickly dissipate as fast as it'd been created.

Kai's gaze turned toward Ritsuko, his eyes glowing a vibrant green as if his soul itself had been transformed into jade flames. Panting heavily from the tremendous strain of using his most powerful technique, of which he'd never used before, Kai seemed visibly exhausted. Despite this he immediately turned and walked toward Erphtal, picked the great weapon up and balanced it on his shoulder, and faced his opponent again. If this battle wasn't over, Kai wanted to be fully prepared to continue on without a moment's rest.

Was she imagining things? No that had to be the sound of a mighty dragon roaring in the skies but the sound gradually subsided until it was silent...and then everything faded to white..

Ritsuko could see that Kai was still going strong, despite his body feeling exhausted after the initial clash between their two attacks. He had his weapon on his shoulder ready to retaliatory whatever she threw at him.

As she stood there on the ground
in a fetal position, the warm humidity made her feel sticky and suffocated. Her clothes and hair, slick with perspiration, clung to her skin. Sweat rolled down her skin in thick, salty beads. She could feel her heart throbbing inside her chest. Her skin felt like it was roasting. She settled to stumbling along as fast as she could. Ritsuko was vaguely aware of a stinging in her leg. Her body was exhausted but her mind wanted to keep going, so she stood up with eyes squinted to let in only enough light in to navigate, she never slackened her pace.

If Kai thinks this is the end he's surely mistaken each step took her closer to victory as she ran towards Kai, screaming at the top of her lungs eyes filled with determination.
Ritsuko didn't stand a chance when it came to the she was overconfident and that ultimately became her downfall as now she was completely powerless...but that didn't stop her .
Her battle-plan was to just run up to him and fight him head on utilizing the Tai-Chi she learned from her training with Mirja in Vastime. She wasn't sure if he was adept in martial arts but god dammit she'll try, even if it kills her.

The ragged appearance of his opponent did, for a second, make Kai believe this battle was finally over. Evidently this was untrue as she stood, shakily, and began moving toward the Chinese warrior. A battle cry-like scream escaped her lips as it accompanied her aggressive sprinting, still bent on defeating Kai for good. Tenacious, I'll give her that. he thought to himself as he felt just a bit more respect for his foe. Muttering quietly to himself, Kai looked forward to their next clash "Yeah...come on....this definitely isn't over yet!"

Once she was only a few meters away Kai used all the strength still in his legs to shoot forward, throwing Erphtal over Ritsuko's head as he did so in an attempt to frighten her momentarily. Now himself sprinting, it was only a moment before the two combatants reached other for the first time this fight. With his right fist cocked and aimed for the woman's face, Kai made his apparent intention to punch her square as obvious as possible to force a response from her.

It was only at the very last second he switched his movement and dodged deftly to the right, twisting his left fist and sending it directly for her stomach with the back of his hand facing the ground. A sudden burst of green fire launched out of his elbow, increasing the speed and strength of his punch considerably as if his arm was a rocket. If this strike landed it would cause significant pain and potentially knock her off balance as well. Either way Kai attempted to hook his left foot between Ritsuko's legs and use it to sweep her closest leg, utilizing both of their momentum to trip and knock her to the ground.

Lets see how good you are in close quarters Kai!
as she continued sprinting towards Kai her heart racing, adrenaline pumping throughout her body she's never gotten a rush like this in forever. Kai probably couldn't see but she gave a small smile whatever the case Ritsuko saw as Kai threw his weapon over her head but she simply ignored it as Kai was her prime target in this fight finally an opponent who won't be a complete dick and fight fairly for once..

Meeting each other face to face ready to engage in hand-to-hand combat, those who had the better strategy and fighting technique will give either of them an advantage and Ritsuko wasn't going to waste that opportunity.

Ritsuko noticed it quickly as kai was attempting to punch her square in the face, she quickly reacted with her own defensive maneuver with the good o'l step forward, parry, and punch combo...

In response she circled her right fist up to her left side and slammed it down onto Kai's attacking forearm as she attacked to the chest or face with her left palm. Knowing this Kai attacking fist will probably make use of the downward force caused by her right back fist and come back up in a circle to attack to her face. To counter this she blocks with her left palm and punch to the heart as she stepped in.

however she miscalculated kai's left boot coming in between her legs causing her to fall to the ground and suffer a major blow to the stomach.

Kai, currently panting and sweaty as ever, looked up to the dark heavens above while placing both hands on his hips. After a particularly deep breath he looked down at Ritsuko, his bright green gaze running over his opponent a few times before settling on making eye contact with her. "It's been a good fight, we've both gotten some good hits in...you ready to call it quits?" Though tired, Kai figured he could still continue on fighting for a while if his opponent wanted to keep things going.

After turning to face away from Ritsuko Kai lifted his left hand from his waist and pointed his index and middle fingers at the fallen fighter, a few centimeters from their tips was a small lighter-like sized flame which at any moment could be shot like a bullet at her. Though he'd already used a tremendous amount of his Jade Dragon's Flames so far he was still capable of producing enough to threaten his opponent. Before he gave her a chance to respond Kai switched to his Assault Stance, sending newfound strength roaring through his muscles as well as summoning an ornate Chinese sword in each of his hands.

Ritsuko know's when she's exhausted as she began staring at the clouds above feeling her heart beating three times it's normal limit, panting breaths and with the occasional sweat beading here and there...none the less it was a good fight and it seemed like Kai was feeling the same. Staring at his jade eyes with her own Aqua blue...kai wanted to call it quits which was understandable they both fought hard managed to get a few blows and even had a little beam struggle which was nice.

She knows when she's beaten and even if she continued the battle would've been in kai's favor as demonstrated by his change in stances pulling out two swords before she could even have a chance to retaliate. But this didn't discourage her but rather the complete opposite, rather then whine and complain like a crying kid who's candy got stolen by the bully; she was going to use this as a means of motivating herself keep training until she's ready to face kai once again...but for now she's done.

"I yield, you win kai..."
