I. Basic Information» Name:
Boria Lee, The Wolf of Glass» Age:
504 (Appears 19-22)» Gender:
Independent, opportunistic huntress, known for a slight predilection towards hunting German soldiers in World Wars II and III.» Appearance Written:
Boria Lee, for the most part, appears to be a human woman, exceptionally tall and with a full figure. That impression never lasts long, though; her left arm is completely gone, and in its place is an abstract-looking mass of ever-shifting, glass-like spiritual matter. The shards fluctuate in size and shape constantly, turning and twisting in ways that hurt they eye to look at as they catch the light and bend it in all sorts of fractal patterns. Boria has control over these shards, and can form functioning limbs of various sizes out of them, but their default state encircles the Hollow like a cloak, glimmering windowpanes covering her back and sides, clutched tight to her body like she's holding herself together with them.
Her clothes are a torn, bloodied uniform of an ancient military power, made to last but cut for a man and thus somewhat ill-fitting. Her hair is blond and cropped short, and her eyes are red and luminescent, with a mask, originally white but long since dyed black by its owner, wrapped around her upper face and under her hair. The mask holds no designs, and comes down to just above the Hollow's mouth, a simple covering of bone dyed black as night. The hand on her right arm is made of a white material, similar in composition to a denser version of her mask, that tapers down to sharp claws at her fingertips. Her face strongly resembles that of a wolf or similar canine in its angles, her teeth are all razor-sharp canines, and her ears taper down to triangular points, all lending hints to her original Hollow form as a wolf of broken glass.» Appearance Image:
II. Personality» Personality:
Boria Lee is far from the mindless being she once was. Having lived for hundreds of years in both the Human World and Hueco Mundo, she has become cunning, and all the more dangerous for it. Perhaps the most deadly trait that the Hollow has learned over the centuries is patience. She does not spring into action and maul at her prey like a savage beast. She waits, hides, stalks her quarry until its guard is down. She's become skilled at understanding humans and the spirits who are humanlike in nature, such as Shinigami.
Boria is manipulative, having learned what to say to pull someone's strings for her own goals, but for all that she has still become more than a monster, capable of forming meaningful attachments to Hollows and non-Hollows alike, and not just out of fear. While she is mostly a self-sufficient creature, owing to a healthy amount of paranoia, she has been known to join forces with other beings for significant threats, and does not betray the people she's sworn to work with.
For all that, Boria Lee is still a Hollow, which means she reacts to many things on instinct. While her patience tempers these reactions, self-control is a finite resource, even for humans, and for Hollows the results of reaching that limit often express themselves far more violently. Testing Boria's patience is a dangerous game, for when she does decide to act, she does so decisively and without remorse. Some Hollows toy with prey, but when Boria Lee decides to kill, she kills with neither pomp nor circumstance.
III. History» History:
Natural Hollows are born from human souls that tarry too long on the Earth, and Boria Lee was no exception. Originally a Jewish woman from Berlin, Boria has long forgotten her mortal name, clinging instead to a significant moniker from the beginning of her afterlife. She died on the night of November 9th, 1938, one of countless slain on Kristallnacht, brutally attacked with an axe and thrown, dismembered, through a stained glass window by a German Schutzstaffel officer; the original holder of the name Boria Lee. The spirit who would eventually take the name of her killer lingered for months, bound to the soil of the tabernacle where she'd been slain. Her Chain of Fate slowly eroded, and when the pain became too much to bear, she'd simply slipped from consciousness.
When next she awoke, the spirit had become a wolf of shattered glass, and her only thought was for finding the man who'd made her suffer so and exacting payment from him, filling this new void in her being at the same time. She hunted the original Boria Lee like a wolf stalks a lost sheep, tracked the scent of his spirit, and consumed him with little preamble. Schutzstaffel he may have been, but a mortal human can do little save scream when attacked by a Hollow. And oh, how sweet the screams of the man who'd stolen her life and afterlife from her tasted. She didn't savor them long, but the memory of his pain as her spirit ate at his like an acid warmed whatever core of emotion passed for her Hollow heart.
After killing the man who'd killed her, Boria lacked direction. She hunted other souls, stalking the weak with the instincts of a predator, until stronger souls arrived, carrying swords. The Shinigami had been sent to put her down like the dog she currently was, but Boria Lee (for by now, she had adopted the name of the first man she had slain), did not stay to give them the chance, following her instincts far away from Berlin, through a Garganta to the bleak white deserts and eternal night of Hueco Mundo.
In Hueco Mundo, Boria found the joy of hunting other Hollows, consuming them and adding the strength of all the souls they'd taken in to her own. Occasionally she would re-enter the Human World and savor the sweet taste of a Plus, exacting vengeance on German soldiers who died in battle to calm her own pain. When the war ended, she began to stalk the courts, the prisons, and the executioners' chambers, denying many of those she felt had some part in wronging her their rightful rest in the next life. It was not long before she'd consumed the hundreds of souls needed to fuel her evolution into a Gillian.
The decades after this first evolution are, to Boria, little more than a blur. Establishing control over such a massive conglomerate of souls, while a supreme effort of will, does not lend itself well to the formation of concrete memories, and her instincts were even more out of control as a Gillian than they had been as a regular Hollow. The next time she truly remembers "really thinking", as she puts it, is when, long after World War II had ended, she consumed enough other Hollows to fuel the compression and evolution into an Adjuchas.
Boria's emergence from her decades-long haze changed surprisingly little for her, and at the same time changed much. No longer was she completely dominated by instinct and hunger and hatred. The long years of struggling and subduing the maelstrom of souls within her had taught her intelligence, dedication, and patience all over again. Her deadly canine rage was tempered with humanlike skill and willpower, and this made her all the more effective as a huntress. She still had to hunt and eat other Hollows, but she could do so far more efficiently now.
The next big change in her life came with the chaos of the third World War. When the events of 2150 began, they incited a level of chaos across the Human World that was great enough to spill over into Hueco Mundo, and she took advantage of it. The humans had grown stronger in the centuries since she'd died and been reborn, and Boria Lee loved a challenging hunt. The Wolf of Glass stalked the battlefield of Earth once again in World War Three, and this time, many of the soldiers could see her. She made sure to target squadrons without heavy hitters, instead gorging herself on the lower talents and adding their strength to her own.
The creation of the domed cities and the stalemated end of World War III was a matter of great consternation to Boria, as it removed much of her access to prey. Still, not all of humanity's strong spirits could hide in the walls of the city forever. Boria began spending more time in Hueco Mundo, only occasionally crossing back into the Human World. More and more over the past 200 years, her trips have been about watching rather than hunting. The humans, the demons, the Shinigami. Few of them could truly challenge her in her own element anymore, and she needed only to hunt mindless, boring Gillian to sustain and grow her powers. When one has eternity, what does one do with it? This question plagues Boria Lee, and so she looks to the other races for answers; the demons and Shinigami for their own solutions to the problem, and the humans for the kind of inspiration that is acquired from watching fleeting sparks dart around and consume themselves in brilliant flares of life and light.
Boria Lee waits, watches, and grows in the shadows of the worlds, biding her time and clawing for power in the dark of the night. The Wolf of Glass stalks the races, claiming the weak, the tired, and the overconfident. When she reaches the peak of her evolution, who knows what she will do?
V. Racial Techniques/Abilities/Skills» Racial Abilities: Null von Kristall
: Boria's Cero can be fired from a collection of the stained glass-like matter that composes her left arm, allowing for unpredictable angles and omni-directional aiming, though it only fires the standard width beam. When fired in this way, the Cero takes on the fractal blue coloration of Boria's left arm, and cuts its targets in addition to the normal effects of a Cero due to razor-sharp edges and disruptions in the spiritual energy the attack is comprised of.
VI. Powers» Hollow Power: Kristallnacht
: Boria's left arm is gone, replaced entirely by fragments of a strange spiritual matter that, superficially, resembles fragments of stained glass. Boria naturally retains a large amount of this matter, which shifts its shape like a liquid when not being actively utilized. She normally keeps it close to herself, as it is far more resistant to attack than her bare flesh, able to clash with Zanpakuto of Shinigami of similar or even slightly higher strength. Damage to the Kristallnacht fragments doesn't damage Boria, and destroying them is a temporary setback as the fragments remaining will naturally swell and divide to replace any that are lost.
Boria has complete control over, and perfect proprioperception of, these fragments. In laymans' terms, she controls them and knows their location in much the same way a human controls and knows the location of their own limbs. The fragments can only be manipulated within a five foot radius of Boria, and while the amount of fragments can exceed her standard level of use, as seen in the picture above, doing so makes manipulations clumsy and costs an inefficient amount of spiritual power.Kristallsturm
: Fragments that leave Boria's sphere of influence harden and maintain their current shape, and are able to be launched from her area of effect almost as fast as a Bala. The razor-sharp blades of glass replenish themselves easily, so with a small investment of spiritual energy Boria can fire a large number of the small blades very quickly. Currently, the Adjuchas is capable of easily covering a normal-sized human in glass over the course of a couple seconds.
Boria cannot regain control of any Kristallnacht fragment that leaves her sphere of influence, but these fragments do remain in existence for several days before dissolving. They are very dangerous to most creatures who aren't Boria, as small, sharp shards of Zanpakuto-steel-hard material are wont to be. Boria often likes to hamper her opponents by covering the ground in Kristallnacht shards, as the blades dissolve at her slightest touch and thus do not inconvenience her in the slightest. After all, crippling your prey makes it easier to separate from the pack.
