Artist: Carrotwine - Song: Dark Side Of The Road
There did not seem to be a reason to worry about the geometrical dark figure he had created, but she knew better. There was no way to ascertain exactly what its purpose was, but she could easily tell a disturbance in the levels of energy thereafter, so she kept on her toes. When he drew his blade, the light was blinding enough to be distracting. But even if she could actually see well, she chose not to. Closing her eyes would not have been wise for anyone but her. She was as well versed a warrior as she was a musician. In the darkness of her mind she could feel the levels of energy fluctuating, his and hers. She could hear the subtle tones of her Melody coursing through the area and feeding her information like the stroke or pluck of a chord on a cello.
When the thunderous slash was released, she recognized it for what it was; something very powerful and highly dangerous. In the heat of the moment she could recognize a handful of ways she could respond, but none were as of yet fitting or entirely necessary. Instead, Nagini responded with a bold movement before Sofia had even instructed him to do so. The enormous Basilisk got in between her and the attack, coiling and turning in such a manner as to obscure her, and take the full brunt of it. Her basilisk was her second strongest beast, and one who could not be summoned again. Unfortunately, his sacrifice would essentially mark its end in the battle though not with a parting gift typical of its scaly self.
”Not bad, not bad at all. I’d like to see that again, though this time, I’ll step it up a notch.”
Corrosive Fluid: The skin and the inside of Nagini is filled with an extremely corrosive and destructive greenish compound that’s specifically designed to eat away and corrode most things besides Nagini or Sofia. For the most part, the technique is used to combat and defend against spiritual base attacks and forms of defense by exploiting and corroding its way through them. However, when it comes to spiritual beings, it is not as powerful. For starters, instead of dissolving and eroding everything upon contact as it would on an energy construct or technique, against another individual, the corrosive fluid would be limited to only affecting the specific area it made contact with. It cannot expand through that singular contact alone. Beyond that, the fluid has an extremely short half-life. It’s the main reason why it’s so effective against techniques and constructs yet not quite the same against people. For instance, if an individual were to, through any particular method seal off or maintain the area of effect, the fluid and its effects would only last for an additional post before evaporating. Those whose tier exceeds hers however are merely presented with third degree burns upon contact instead of the thorough corrosion that would’ve occurred otherwise to those of equal tier. The previous however is the maximum amount of damage that can occur in such circumstances, and its dependent on unique defenses possesses by the opponent. For instance, barriers would reduce its effectiveness by about 10% while on that scenario, hierro and other similar skills reduce it based on mastery; 1% at beginner, 3% at adept, 6% at advanced, 12% at elite, 20% at master, 40% at grand master. Both Nagini and Sofia are immune to the detrimental effects of the fluid.
As far as its effects on energy techniques however, its highly dependent in the relationship between the opponent’s tier and Sofia’s reishi manipulation mastery. In the end, both Nagini, its constructs, and their potential are made possible in large due to her skill in there. At a reishi mastery of elite, opponents three tiers lower than her would see their energy construct completely melted through with the attack. Those just a two tiers lower would see their energy attack or defenses weakened with the acid by up to 75%, up to 50% if they’re a tier lower, 25% if equal, and 10% at a tier higher. At a mastery of master, opponents two tiers lower than her would see their energy construct completely melted through with the attack. Those just a tier lower would see their energy attack or defenses weakened with the acid by up to 75%, and up to 50% if they’re the same tier as her, 25% if one tier higher, and 10% if two tier higher. Bear in mind the corrosive fluid still has to connect with the attack or defensive energy for it to have any effect. Each shot of corrosive fluid carries with it a two turn cooldown after use. By consuming 10 holy charges, Sofia is able to bump up its damage up to a maximum of half of what it could naturally due depending on the pertinent parameters. For instance, if the corrosive fluid was simply going to debilitate an attack or a defense by up to 10%, consuming 10 holy charges would bump it up to 15%.
As the force hit him and cut into its body, the corrosive blood and fluid within spewed out like a hose in Hayden’s general direction. It was as if a powerful force had hit a sponge full of water. If any of that corrosive fluid got on his body, it was likely to leave a sort of third degree burn, or melt through certain forms of defense though the details were yet to be seen. Whatever amount was avoided, if any, would simply fall onto the ground and remain there, seemingly without ulterior purpose. It took little more than a second or two for Nagini to vanish away from the battle, having played its role, and done so well.
Until then, though not holding back too much, Sofia was making sure to keep things tidy and as far from broken as possible. Hayden’s choice of attack was her green light to let loose just a bit more. At least she knew the sort of attack she would be facing, and she’d make sure not to get caught off guard by it again. Bringing a hand to her bosom, it glowed a golden hue and enveloped her body. Next to her, a silhouette of her form in the same golden light appeared and disappeared to reveal a very distinctive form. It was a woman almost indistinguishable from Sofia; almost
. Her name was Sophie. The differences were few. She was no more than an inch or two taller than Sofia, with longer hair, and fox ears. She was also a bit bustier, for whomever it mattered to. Beyond that, their white outfits were near identical save for the lack of black tights on Sophie. The technique was one of Sofia’s greatest undertakings as not many Quincy could claim to be able to do this. It wasn’t her most powerful ability by any extent, but it was certainly one of the most difficult to create initially. Sophie stood about two to three meters behind Sofia, and from the get go, her eyes were locked with Hayden’s.
Sophie: Although this technique is not the most energy intensive, or the most powerful, it is perhaps among the most beautiful she has created, and that’s taken the bias out of the equation. The feat performed in this technique speaks greatly about the level of dominion over reishi she possesses, the likes of which have only been seen in a handful of individuals from the inception of their race. By using her mastered skill, Sofia is able to create another entity that looks almost exactly like her. This is not an illusion, and is not a perfect clone either. It is essentially a very similar version of her that has extensive differences too. Physically, to be able to tell eachother apart more, Sofia created Sophie with a part of kitsune-like ears. Their heights are the same, as is their attire and their overall physical looks.
As for the power and abilities, Sophie is created with a tier of around 1-2. She is unable to access Vollstanding, but beyond that every other ability and technique available to Sofia is also available to her. During a battle thread, once Sophie has been summoned, she can remain in the field for a maximum duration of about eight posts. However, by consuming 10 holy charges she’s able to extend her stay to about 10 posts. On a social thread, Sophie is able to walk around for a near indefinite amount of time. However, in the case of friendly spars or training, but only if given explicit consent by all those present, can Sophie remain out and about beyond the time limit the technique has.
As for her personality, though she has a loyalty and devotion to Sofia, she shares quite a bit of differences too. For starters she’s more likely to be crazy in a wild sense. While somewhat cautious and collected in battle, she doesn’t think much before jumping into rather dangerous or embarrassing circumstances outside of it. Though the initial intent and pretense behind the technique was so that Sofia could have someone competent to train with as often as she desired, it went far beyond that. It allowed Sofia to talk to someone else, that in some way was close yet far enough from her own self. In any case, Sophie is a welcomed addition to Sofia, and one that’s proving herself useful in and out of combat.
said Sofia as she tossed the other girl a Ginto Sphere. It was unclear just yet what kind it was or what it could but, but Hayden was bound to find out soon enough.
From her location, Sophie brought the Ginto Sphere up to her face so it covered most of it. As she finally brought it down, Hayden could see her licking her lips before biting down on them. The sort of motions she did with her lips and her tongue over the Ginto Sphere were beyond explanation, and one would think he would need no help in trying to figure out what each lick, and what each graze of the lips over the ball-like sphere meant. Suddenly, Sofia looked back, just in time for Sophie to change her expression to one of disapproval of her opponent, shaking her head side to side.”This time you’re going down,”
said Sofia before drawing both one of her custom green seele, and the Rona blade from her regalia into her hands.”Yes,”
said Sophie biting her lower lip far more lustfully obvious now, ”He sure will.”
Wasting no time, Sofia would try and rush Hayden with both of her unique blades drawn. Sophie kept up the pace, holding still the Ginto Sphere on one hand, while using a custom seele on the other. Despite their fast speeds, the distance between them did not change once. Their sparring time was about to take a turn for the better in a multitude of ways. There were certain tools Sofia was dying to try out, and see how they fared against him. As for Sophie, there were tools she wanted to try out too, though one would fear as to the means of acquiring such a thing. Sofia was fully aware of the difference between their personalities, but at least in battle she was able to keep Sophie relatively in check. Besides, she couldn’t keep her out for too long, though she highly doubted she’d be able to keep her away once the battle finished. Still, that was a different battle she was willing to fight when it came time to.
