ENTER THE DEPTHS

Chifuyu had arrived early. She was a Warden of the Vanguard, getting out of this was nigh-impossible so here she was, she met people of all kinds and backgrounds. She saw Vanguard, Vastime, Demons and Shadow Fall, Hell there were a few of the Yayjuu and Vizard Corps here to. Nonetheless she had left when the King of Demons had arrived, Ravan Vespara was not a man she wanted to be around in this situation. All it would take is a mistake from a stupid servant and suddenly this place was skyhigh.

So Chifuyu would find herself in a more secluded area of the mansion. A Balcony to be specific which overlooked this artificial realm. The golden skyline and the verdant fields in the distance. It was all fake. It brought a smile to her face, a strange response but this place was somehow peaceful and she enjoyed it. She spied a few skirmishes between factions or drunken organisation members. Nothing the many servants did and got rid of.

She came back to her thoughts when she spied a demon offering her a drink, she could drink, but she honestly had no intention of doing so. She'd also probably have to drink some pretty high concentrated stuff for the alcohol to take effect in her system. For now she just passed, technically she was underage for alcohol anyway. Then again Liu was a liberal person as she recalled.

"So... Stuck in this place and what's to do while here? I suppose I could socialise but with whom?"

Another quick glance around her and she resumed to looking out over the gardens in her white dress showing off quite a lot of her back and arms, the front having an intricate lace design over her cleavage. Otherwise it was pretty basic. She was never a girl that liked to cover herself in make-up or jewellery. Still she got a lot of wannabe suitors compliment her on it so it must look good, it was fun being able to say you were too young and then watching their expressions. Some shocked, others embarrassed and some ashamed. It amused her the way people reacted to things that otherwise fazed her.

KAGAMI IRAMASHA-CLIXX

"In all honesty, I don't blame you for coming up here. That guy is far too loud." A young woman's voice echoed throughout the halls, reaching up to the balcony Chifuyu was standing on. The voice belonged to none other than Kagami Iramasha-Clixx, princess and royal family within the K-world empire. Though she was making her way through life and slowly becoming known as an ambassador of sorts, she didn't truly understand what her role in the world was. Perhaps this Gala, and the drinks shared among friends and enemies, would shed some light on it?

The white haired Iramasha's appearance was atypical, the long white flowing hair that contrasted beautifully with her dark skin - mixed in with the giant white overcoat that covered from her neck down to her upper thighs. In comparison to Chifuyu, she was hardly dressed as formally, her white dress outshining her own military-esque attire. Walking ever so slowly up behind the woman, passing by Vastimian and Kokryuteshi soldiers alike, she stopped as she reached the edge of the balcony, standing by Chifuyu's side. In her hand were two glasses, both filled to the brim with bubbling champagne. Placing both down on the ledge, her eyes drew to the golden hue of the fabricated sunset, then to the woman beside her.

"Have a drink. It's on me." Trying to loosen herself up a bit, the young lady huffed and puffed. She had been growing up so fast and acting so serious all the time she didn't really get a chance to just let her hair down and be herself. She didn't know this woman beside her, but perhaps there was a friendship to be made. After all it was a Gala, and what was the harm in finding some people to talk to? There's no doubt Chifuyu would notice the K-world memorabilia littered across her giant coat, it was her hope that this wouldn't scare her off. She was proud of her empire, and daring to show it off here.

"I've never met him properly, but the last time that Demon King was involved half of Hawaii got destroyed. Such a savage, honestly..." She took another drink and exhaled, clearly stressed from the events of late. Turning her head and smiling, her young face gleamed with joy as she apologised. "Ah! Sorry, sorry, sorry! I didn't meant to be rude. I'm Kagami." Holding out her hand for a handshake, she let out a cheesy and dorky smile once again, clearly showing her innocent and childlike attitude for a moment. Whether she shook it or not didn't matter, this woman looked younger, just like her. Possibly the two youngest people at this event.

"Huh?"

The human's royal blue gaze would be directed towards the appearance of this new woman, the appearance was a well, beautiful. To Chifuyu her dark skin with that platinum-white coloured hair only morphed into a picture perfect image. The visage was complete with that attire of her's, the young woman loved it. The practicality and simplicity yet the beauty of it. It was so much better than this damn dress.

"God I envy you... K-World lets you all get away with whatever you want? I'd get shot probably if I dressed in my uniform. Maybe I should just ditch Vanguard and come to K-World huh?"

She looked back and chuckled, in a way she was making it clear that they were on opposing sides. She would feel a little bad if she led this woman on that they might be aligned. She didn't mind if her possible friend was in K-World though, Chifuyu didn't mind them. She honestly thought them as quite civilised in comparison to the other antagonistic organisations, Monsuta were simply nuts for the most part and Shadow Fall were hardly better. The last time she saw Shadow Fall's work was Hawaii, god that was a shit-fight.

"A drink, now you've just offered a minor alcohol... tssk tssk"

She giggled before taking the glass, it was a coy joke. She didn't care and hey, what could be more appropriate than someone seeing two senior members of rival organisations getting pissed - when they were both underage but Chifuyu didn't know that - she could get information on this woman, but there was a few issues there. The Yuudeshi Network barely operated in Hell for her, secondly she wanted to find out normally about this woman. No cheats. Taking a sip of the drink she looked at Kagami as she continued and nodded along while laughing.

"He sure did. Isn't that just the Shadow Fall way though? If you don't get what you want then kick a little harder and if you win good job, you lose? Do it again. It's a shame, Hayden had to invite that oaf."

Her smile was contagious and Chifuyu found one forming in response as she swallowed the liquid and nodded to shake her hand firmly, enjoying the feeling of her skin. She seemed nice enough. What harm could getting to know this woman do?

"I'm Chifuyu. Nice to meet you Kagami and it's fine, I'm glad you're casual. So many people here are soooo boring and formal. Like damn it's so boring having to greet people yet of course I get roped into it."

She laughed and let go of her hand with that introduction done before looking back over the gardens. She was curious about this woman, wondering how she could approach this situation after all. She didn't want to see like she was prying information out of Kagami or trying to infiltrate her mind. She just wanted to be casual and have a normal conversation with someone casual like her.

"So how's it been for you thus far? I imagine looking like that you've gotten a lot of attention from all the men."

She gave a playful jab with her elbow, teasing her a little. She meant no offence, hell she should be complimented. Chifuyu thought she looked much more attractive than her with those features, if she had less than three people try to get with her this evening Chifuyu would lose hope in people's taste. Didn't matter if they got rejected, gotta try at least.

Kagami's smile remained on her face as she became acquainted with this new woman. Her long dress and formal attire said one thing about her, yet the more she spoke the more Kagami realised she was just a kid like her. She didn't even want to be here, but a gala in Hell, which accumulated all organizations and groups, which was meant to be civil only came once in a lifetime. Kagami let out a soft chuckle to herself as she listened to the joke of moving from Vanguard to K-world. In actuality, the two groups were opposite of each other and would often fight for land on Earth. Yet, despite this, the platinum haired Iramasha couldn't help but hold a ridiculous smile at someone who, outside of this room, she would consider an enemy.

"If I'm honest, K-world couldn't stop me if I tried. Besides, this is formal attire for us. Military uniforms are just as prevalent as elegant dresses." Although she didn't think about it at the time, she did not even question the authenticity or qualifications of this woman. From coming from such a serious background where she was being thrust into politics and military management, Kagami was just happy to have a break from it all.

Taking another sip from her glass of champagne, she simply smiled and gave a soft wink. "It's okay, in human years, I'm underage too." Giving a soft giggle, she happily looked out across the skyline and over the gardens.

"I think you're missing the mark with Shadow Fall a bit. They are chaotic in nature, I would go far as savages. But if you miss the opportunity to invited someone like him..." Her hand guided inside and pointed over the ridge where the Demon King had made his entrance.

"... you don't get a true understanding or resolution without going directly into war. I've met Hayden before, I've had the pleasure of escorting him throughout the streets of Seoul. Shadow Fall aren't beyond negotiable." She stopped talking and let out a big huff of air which had built up in her chest. She was trying to dissuade the myth among Vanguard that there was no resolution beyond all out war. In the end, she had to believe it herself. Otherwise there truly would be no tomorrow.

"Nice to meet you, Chifuyu. And not really, most men from K-world avoid me because they respect me too much. Most others are too afraid to talk to me, you're the first person who didn't instantly avoid me upon saying hello, honestly."

Being so highly ranked in the Kokuryuteshi was kind of hard in terms of making friends, or perhaps even meeting guys. She was young, but it was her being Kin's daughter that was the deal maker among the K-world troops. Most other Vanguard and Vastimian groups simply saw her as the enemy, thus refusing to even talk to her. "What about you? You don't put on a dress like that to NOT get noticed by someone. Or is it truly just protocol? Vanguard sounds way too strict on you, maybe you should join us after all, huh?"

She let out yet another small chuckle. It was nice to actually have someone to speak to.

Despite the fact Chifuyu wasn't actively pursuing intelligence on who Kagami was, she had the information presented to her to go off. That indeed was much more fun and pleasant it was also less invasive. From her first comment it was safe to deduce that Kagami was someone of high authority like Chifuyu herself, hell maybe she was even the K-World equivalent of a Warden. How ironic would that be. She nodded at the comment, for most occasions she could probably have gotten away with her uniform but that wasn't very formal looking, even as far as uniforms go compared to Kagami's own attire.

Her smile and wink was cute, there was a charm to Kagami which the Yuudeshi couldn't place. She was fun and easy to get along with but just the way her demeanour was so approachable it was hard not to like her. That second bit of information was not overlooked, she found it strange... they were both younger than eighteen and yet held high roles in their respective organisations.

"Huh? You're underage as well? That's a surprise~"

Really it was welcomed though, to have someone her own age that probably wouldn't look down at her because of her lack of age and experience behind her. Regardless she showed a side that impressed Chifuyu, for all her childish and playful nature the woman had a mind to back up her position and the she nodded at the woman's answer. It was a good answer.

"You're right. Shadow Fall aren't beyond negotiating with. It was wrong for me to make it sound like there was no hope when the Demon King shows up here and at least shows effort into coming here and interacting outside of combat. Diplomacy would be nice though, of course there are a few things that make Shadow Fall hard to achieve diplomacy with that is hard to ignore but everyone has their flaws I suppose."

She spoke neutrally, she wondered how Kagami felt about it. She had diffused the conversation from Chifuyu's talk of violence, was there a pacifist in there or a diplomat? Something to note anyway, she clearly thought that diplomacy between Shadow Fall and K-World was possible why not Vanguard then? With certain terms of course. But then, K-World and Vanguard, she looked over the scene once more while glancing at Ravan for just a moment. She had to admit he was cute, no doubts there but definitely not anyone she'd want to try something with.

"Oh... You don't seem that scary Kagami. I think they're all just to shy to try. Afraid of getting turned down but I think you're a very good person. You don't seem like the kind of person that K-World is made out to be. I'm sure you can understand the Stigma between the K-World and Japan given the Yuudeshi and Kin Iramasha's family's feud. Say... what are your thoughts on that anyway? I'm curious given your insight from a new aspect I can't really find in Japan. Getting an opinion straight from a K-World member that is"

She had avoided giving herself away as a Yuudeshi. Why? Even her attempts to steer clear of ranks was because of it. For Kagami to be so young yet so high up suggested some level of ambition in her - from what Chifuyu knew - all it would take is her kidnapping Chifuyu now and taking her to Kin and a big fat promotion and reward would be lined up. Hell, given that both women who were wardens had the name Yuudeshi it made it impossible for her to even stay safe from that. She didn't want this woman to hate her purely because her organisation hated her family. It was also why she tried to lace that question in there to understand and take it into consideration.

"Now.. this was honestly the only formal dress I had. So... I suppose I just hoped it looked nice and worked. I've been trying not to get noticed but hey, I got your attention it seems so what are your intentions here huh? Gonna swoon me like the other attempts? The Vanguard is alright, what would I possibly do in K-World though? Got a spare outfit for me if I can be getting around in uniform over dresses?"

She leaned into Kagami a little at her mention of getting her attention, a small joking jab that almost self-incriminating comment but Chifuyu would forgive it. She just found it to be very enjoyable with this woman's company.

KAGAMI IRAMASHA-CLIXX
火 神

"Mm. Underage in a timeline sense, more than past age physically, y'know?" Placing a single finger up to her lips, she let out a short "Shhh" sound and wink of her eye. Without directly talking about her age interruption due to her mother, Kagami used her physical representation of age to over rule her chronological age.

It was a strange feeling being in her presence, she was a young yet mature girl - although her previous words hinted towards a pure hatred towards Shadow Fall, Kagami's diplomatic words seem to have struck a cord. Though it was mostly idealism, Kagami truly believed that there had to be some sort of non-aggressive approach to the entire situation. She was young, inexperienced and she knew this. Born into royalty made her lost grasp on many realities of the world - yet she had to believe. And she hoped that she could make Chifuyu believe in the same vision as her. Though they were on different paths, their ideals seem to align in an interesting way. The best way she described this was them being on the same path - but the method each group and family use to get there was where the problems arised.

"I'm glad you can see things in the same light as me, then. I don't think the Vanguard and Kokuryuteshi are as different as we wish to be seen." Although she was the innocent face of the Kokuryuteshi, she truly believed that. Her face turned to the side for a moment as Chifuyu's gaze drew back to the man causing a ruckus in the main hall. Reaching out to Chifuyu's face, she would simply flick her nose and say with a deep yet soft voice. "Hey! Forget about him, you're here for a good time. Don't let his asshole behavior interrupt that."

With a grin, she turned her body back to looking over the balcony, the golden sunset had become slowly shifting colours by now. The gardens below let out a wafting smell of fresh air, it almost felt strange that most of this was the will of a Demon originating from Hell. The princess listened as Chifuyu talked. In truth, she had never heard the other side of the the spectrum either. She had been brought up within such a heavily Kokuryuteshi influenced world that it didn't even occur to her. How did Japan and the Yuudeshi feel about the situation? She had grown up with such a natural hatred it felt almost common sense. Perhaps she should listen to it from someone who was on the other side of the spectrum. After all, what was a gala for? It wasn't for fighting.

"Mmm..." She clicked her tongue softly as she spoke, averting her eyes for a moment and then placed them back on Chifuyu. "Believe it or not, the Kokuryuteshi aren't the beasts that sleep beneath your bed. We have strong ideals and influence, but if you are cooperative we won't pursue pain or hatred. We do what is necessary. Our methods may be disagreeable to some, but what other way is there?" She exhaled as she thought some more, listening to the rest of her words before replying to anything she said. Joking about an extra outfit, she smiled softly and let out a chuckle. Taking another sip of her champagne, she went to speak but hesitated. Should she really tell a stranger she is the direct daughter of Kin? But then...

"Yeah... Kin, my father, does kind of hold a grudge. But there is history between our families I don't fully understand. Asking for my opinion on the matter would be a one of inexperience, I'm afraid." Before she could even reply to these words, Kagami took a relaxed pose and a deep breathe out with a few more words.

"Ahhhh, I just hope things find a conclusion beyond war. I share my fathers vision for the world, but this battle is just a pain..."

"I know what you mean, drink away Kagami. I won't tell if you don't~"

She winked back and touched her nose to respond to Kagami's little shh sound. It was a little bit of info they best not be tossing around after all. She took another quick sip and listened for the other woman's words. Kagami was an interest.

She liked her, she was reasonable and positive. It wasn't like all the beliefs she inherited about K-World. Granted she was aware of K-World's negative goals that opposed their own but did that really mean every single person was evil? Kagami didn't seem evil. She seemed innocent and immature, a child forced into something which they didn't have any control over.

"Maybe we're not so different after all"

The moment she said it she was wondering on her own words, she spoke without exactly thinking about it and wondered if she was still talking about K-World and Vanguard in that instance. It didn't really matter for she was brought back to focus on the Iramasha with a flick to her nose and made her turn with a bit of a surprised face. She wasn't expecting her to flick her nose and it wasn't unwelcome, it just caught her off guard that someone who was supposed to be her enemy did such a playful gesture.

"Hey-"

She let Kagami speak and blushed, she was here as an obligation to Vanguard not to have a good time. In a way she wasn't having a good time either, it was Kagami that had made it a good time for her.

"Of course there's another way, you're trying to make a utopia but... but trying to bring forth a place of perfection is impossible. Perfection is something that is subjective, you can't appease everyone and even if the entire population all held the same idea, even then you've stripped away the individuality and the freedom of people. Perfection removes all forms of growth Kagami and takes away the essence of being a person. I wish I could do what your empire seeks to create, to make a world that no one has to cry in and everything can be good but... It's impossible."

She said the last words sadly, there would always be strife. Perfection was not the beautiful thing that everyone made it out to be in Chifuyu's mind. There were so many examples of paradise and a perfect place; Avalon, Eden, Nirvana. All these things were myths. The only form of utopia that K-World could create was not a very nice one for her in which people had their independence stripped from them and they became mindless much like animals.

When Kagami finally spilt the beans, Chifuyu felt herself go tense and like someone had just stabbed her. This woman wasn't just her enemy, she was her family's enemy. It hurt a lot because she felt something for her. The way they could connect so quickly and get along and they had so much in common. Kagami would probably notice it, not only that you could drop a pin right now and hear it audibly.

"Ki- Kin's daughter?"

She looked crushed for a moment, it took her a second to pull herself back together from this bombshell but then she heard words she wondered if were just manipulation now, a conclusion beyond war? What? Chifuyu had never thought she'd hear a child of her father's nemesis speak about peace.

"I don't understand either... Maybe... our father's are wrong."

She let those words hang, forcing herself not to look away to see Kagami's reaction. Would she try to kill her? Attack her right now like what Kin would possibly do if she were Shadin. She had just admitted to not only being a Yuudeshi but also the daughter of Shadin. She felt an air of discomfort now like she had never felt before and a bit of a stinging. Was this the end of them speaking and interacting so friendly?

"Yeah, I don't think we are all that different. Yet the world really would like to tear us apart..." It was a strange feeling, being alongside someone who was considered a strong enemy. Her body was held strong, but she'd by lying if a part of her wasn't on edge. The drink she downed mixed with her nerves, Kagami felt a small sense of fear. She represented such a large part of the Kokuryuteshi empire, how can she truly keep a straight face in front of Chifuyu? Ah, it was all so stressful.

Though the moment she spoke in response to making a utopia, Kagami smiled a little. She felt earnest in those feelings, and it wasn't exactly like Kagami disagreed. In fact, it seemed like she was misinterpretting the goals of K-world a little. In that moment, when all those emotions of hostility continued to fade, a soft smile drew upon her lips. She felt comfortable, and that perhaps this was the true way to solve the world's problems. Just two women, each of different ideology, talking about their life perspectives and what they can do to change the world around them for the better. Her eyes remained on Chifuyu, her beauty was without question, but there felt something more to her. It was a sense of sadness in her voice, she was sad over the possibility of endless hostility.

"Ah, I think you misunderstand a bit, Chif. We're fully aware a perfect utopia is impossible, if it was then our cities would never even need policing." Her arms spread out a bit, and the drink in her hand spilled as a sparkle of wonder physically appeared in her eye. Her dark skin crept out from the overcoat shrouding her body, and her iridescent eyes gleamed with hope.

"You should see The Royal Land of Kokuryu, Chifuyu. It's beautiful. Magnificent. The ideal of what we wish for the world." Her head turned, and a grin sported on her face.

"It's not that it's perfect, it's that they're welcoming. Everyone has accepted life, and nobody lives in poverty. Is it so bad that we wish to bring peace, prosperity and power to those who have none? I don't think we're that different, Chifuyu. I think we're closer than everyone thinks."

She was taken aback a bit in response to her being Kin's daughter, it didn't really cross her mind when it slipped out of her mouth. The world was so strange, but the fact that these two ended up in the same room, calmly talking seemed much stranger.

"A-ah, yeah... I'm... Kin's daughter, but I really hope that doesn't freak you out. I like to think I'm more than just "his child", you know?"

She took a moment to think herself, mainly wondering what life would've been like if things had been different. If she had not been a Yuudeshi or in such a position would things have been maybe different? Probably not. This was a silly hypothetical that she was wondering about and her mind would be better directed towards her guest for more reasons than one.

"Fate is a cruel mistress I guess Kagami."

Watching Kagami speak so prideful and happy about her organisation was a strange thing though. It was a genuine belief that what she does is right and had a charisma to her. Chifuyu never felt the same about Vanguard, for her it was a means to an end to achieve the simple goal at the end of the day. If another faction could offer her the same thing - while in fact matching her alignment - then there would be very little reason for her to not slide across to that one. As terrible as that sounded. It didn't matter who provided her the resources, she just needed the capacity to do what needed to be done in her mind.

Out of everything she expected from this little gala, from this entire interaction an invitation to K-World was the last thing she expected from the Kokuryuteshi. After all that would be like wandering into a snake pit, no less with Kagami. Was she really that trusting to let a Yuudeshi wander around the place even if there was no intention of laying a trap.

It was a conflicting thought, troublesome even while she thought about how to respond to this offer. Even though it'd be quite easy to go the more she thought about it. She did have the capacity of multiple bodies and means that could make capture of her nigh-impossible. So it was a pretty tempting offer.

"I'll consider it, maybe in a few months or so. Although I don't know how our fathers would handle it. My father wouldn't take too kindly to me going if he found out and I'm sorry, I didn't mean something rude by that. It's just surprising is all. You're more reasonable and kind than I expected from everything I had heard about Kin."

"Fate is cruel, but it doesn't have to tear us apart."

Though they were similar people set down two different paths of life, Kagami felt somewhat strange, that perhaps life circumstance could have made her a different person that was on her side. Maybe even a friend. But a family member of Kin? Friends with a Yuudeshi? Such a thing wasn't heard of. Not that Kagami knew Chifuyu too well, but she had an ease of patience about her, something the royal Iramasha respected. K-world was many things, welcoming, incredibly influential, but she never felt the raw connection she has with this woman - someone who didn't treat her as royalty, but as another person.

"I'd like to think I made a friend today. Regardless of our personal alignments."

She smiled, and the near empty glass in her hand was finished in a single gulp. Her smile turned to a soft glimmer, and a thoughtful gaze drifted off past Chifuyu and out over the balcony. For all their talk, and being within the confines of Hell, it truly was beautiful. The skyline complimented Kagami's skin with a glimmer, and her eyes reflected a perfect golden in return. Wrapping her overcoat around her body, she placed her elbows on the balcony and looked out over it, gazing deep through the mazes and scenery for a moment. Wondering what it would be like to escape it all.

Her gaze shifted to Chifuyu for a moment, and she let out a small inhale, thinking about what she would say. She was the first person to treat her like a human, like a normal person, after learning she was Kin's daughter. She almost let out a small chuckle the moment the Yuudeshi woman commented on "everything she'd heard of Kin."

"Believe it or not, Chif, Kin isn't the devil. I know the things they say. Kokuryuteshi are the sleeping beasts. Kin is a devil. But it's not all true. In the end we're all people trying to make the best out of life. Kin isn't a monster. Neither am I."

Her smile turned to a rather sorrowful look, and gaze shifted to the floor.

"Hey Chifuyu... do you ever think of leaving it all behind?"

She was serious in tone, but radiated a sad feeling.

"I think about it a lot. Why do I have to be royalty? Why do we have to take this burden and lead the world with our vision? I feel like I only just met you, and it's hard to imagine both of our lives different than they are... but I just feel tired. I wonder if it's even possible to leave it all."
