The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha] Empty The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha]

"...Fifteen."

A pencil was scratching on the surface of paper with Lillium seated on a park bench, the tell tale signs of evening showing their colors, literally. The sky was painted an array of reds, oranges, yellows, and purples as the sun inched ever so slowly, down the horizon to give it's warming light to other lands on this grand world. She had parted from Yaksha to "study" herself and sin, spending weeks tapping into her sinful side's ends. She had quite the issue with keeping relaxed, especially the amount of times she had overflown and the sheer lack of pay off, but... It wasn't so terrible, was it?

Things of the girl's body changed, along with her demeanor. She appeared much more aged, less a preteen and more rather late in the run of puberty, 16-18 years at most. Her hair had accelerated growth, now touching the floor in how long it had become, though she remedied this with braiding; Hair wasn't exactly flesh, after all, so she didn't have a well defined sense of control over it.

On her lap sat a journal, a day to day summary of what she had done for the time that had passed, full of notes and small drawing and such, thoughts and analyses contained. It felt strangely natural to her, writing all these details and thoughts onto paper, kind of felt like she was a scientist or an adventurer. Food for thought, point was, she knew some degree of progress was done, so she had arrived back in the city of Las Vegas, though she never was very far geographically speaking.

The young Danava had taken her time to read through the journal one final time, finishing off with counting how many overflows she had suffered in this time. She shuddered, remembering she had barely managed to hold herself back from killing people the first few times, but they progressively became more controllable and bearable.

----

She went for a walk, remembering the location of Yaksha's place all too well for only one stay, the sun having well set by the time she was at his door. She held her hand back, hesitating to knock for a minute as a new strength of emotion took dominion of her thoughts; Anxiety. What if he didn't wish to see her? What if he was certain she had failed?

Cease.

Her eyes shut, fist tightening as she swallowed, soon rapping on the door in a rhythmic pattern. None of that, she would know. She had to step into the lion's den and see the danger for herself.

Yaksha, The Überseele

"I'll be there in just a moment, bear with me. I've just got to...just a moment..."

There were the faint sounds of hurried motion inside, as if someone were picking up clothing in a rush of movement, or trying to sweep something very rapidly. Yaksha however, didn't sound rushed or panicked in the slightest, instead giving off an air like someone who was heavily distracted, not someone who was trying to juggle too many things. It finally took almost fifty seconds from the first knock for the door to open, and the horned monstrosity within to lean down, peering at Lillium through a pair of horn-rimmed glasses that hung, quite aptly, off of his horns.

He inhaled for just a moment, and then grabbed her beneath the armpits, laughing giddily and then sweeping her inside, across the doorstep. He nodded up and down over and over, as if his neck were on a spring, before setting her on the ground, and then doing a small shuffling jig in one place.

"And here she is, juuuust the girl I wanted to call! Your timing is impeccable. Do you know what I always want to hear? That someone has anticipated what I am going to need, and made the proper arrangements. You can't train initiative into someone. No! Don't tell me this is just coincidence, I don't want you to spoil my good mood! Just accept the praise and let us move on to the good part!"

He reached down, touching his hands to her shoulders, and then ushering her into the living room with gentle nudges, exuding excitement and certainty with every fiber of his being...he truly did seem to behave like a child in a candy shop, or someone hoping to reveal an amazing secret to someone else. He sat down on the couch, then gestured towards a television he had set up against the wall. It was truly enormous, as large as some people's entire living quarters, and each and every pixel seemed to ripple and writhe as he moved his hand through the air.

"I spared no expense on this project, Lillium. I had some very dedicated people find me exactly what I needed to achieve this. So, let us begin, shall we?"

He snapped a finger, pointing to the screen, and tapping at a few buttons on the armrest of his couch. A moment later, the screen lit up, showing a man covered in blood, wielding a knife...and cackling.

"So tell me, Lillium. What exactly is it that allows you, and you alone, to see these sins? Is it merely the rods and cones in your eyes? Or is it something...metaphysical? This man was caught on camera, killing ten people, before he was shot down by a mercenary. I find it impossible to believe you -wouldn't- see the sins he carried on his person."

The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha] Empty Re: The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha]

Lilium stood silent in front of the door, quietly awaiting an answer, until she had heard the Hollow's voice, which struck her rather chilled, her natural response squealing to move her body far away from here. On top of Ulv's warnings, she felt intimidated by him, immensely, and oh god did she hate it. Her stubbornness was far greater than her fear, so her feet were planted, her body forcing itself to not flaunt any weakness, as she stared hard at the door, listening to the shufflings of the man inside, hearing it coming closer and closer like some horror movie come to life.

She was thoroughly convinced towards keeping her dignity intact and digging her heels in, as the door suddenly popped open, seeing the tall, slender, red marked and horned form that was Yaksha. She hardly had enough time to look upon his stomach-turning markings, the madman lifting her by the pits and sweeping her inside, much to her shock and disgust to be handled like a stuffed animal. The girl's face was quickly washed with a blush, embarrassment burning her face as she made a gentle but squeaky "Aaah!" as she was suddenly standing on the floors, her bare feet touching the domesticated panels as she had looked over to retort.

"H-hey! I am not some object or plaything to just... Just move around like- Auughh! He-hey!" She was very bent on ruining his "good mood", before she was suddenly being shoved along by his long, grisly white hands, the bony extremities making her feel uncomfortable as she tried to properly word her distaste, but was quick to give up on the waste of breath as he was obviously too excited to listen to any complaints she had in the moment, causing her to sigh and stand in place as she watched him sit down on the couch, flicking on the tv to reveal some blood-soaked lunatic, weapon and obvious break in mind present.

"W-wha... Ugh." Lilium knew that he wouldn't answer her if she didn't answer him, so she took the leisure of plopping onto the couch, having rolled onto it from the arm, so her legs and surprisingly clean feet were up in the air as she had her face squished in a cushion she slid along with her, staring at the screen and squinting. Something felt a little off... She saw the guy, sure, but there was another thing missing... And then one of the little manifests happened to float by her face, as Yaksha had mentioned it.

"...Actually." She did a slow blink, carefully looking at it just to make certain she was correct, "I don't see them, at all. Nothing like that.." It was certainly weird; whatever sins were currently present definitely seemed like they were more erratic than the aimlessly floating ones, but more like they were reacting to what was on the screen than an actual person, so it was nowhere near as strong.

"I don't know anything about rods or cones in eyes. Now you tell me something..." She narrowed her eyes into slits, moving her head to look at him, "What's this project you mentioned?"

"Why...isn't it obvious, Lillium? Sins are everywhere, and everything we do carries the stain of sin. So it stands to reason you should be seeing sins instead of people, if your power worked that simply. I can think of a million things that would've been called sins a thousand years ago that are now quite normal. And the opposite."

Yaksha's voice came out in the faintly exuberant tones of a teacher who felt strongly on their topic of conversation, someone who had dedicated themselves in heart body and soul to their craft. He seemed to enjoy discussing this matter with her as much as he would've doing it on his own, as if helping and guiding Lillian was just as fulfilling as his own progression and growth. He clapped his hands together, and gestured towards the television. The sins, still aimlessly bouncing off of it like flies off of a lamp, were still covering the screen...only to start dispersing when the officer arrived on the scene to gun him down.

"For a very long time, people couldn't even agree on what the seven deadly sins were. For a very long time, gluttony and greed were in fact a single sin, Lillium...but time moves on. And now the much-vaunted eighth sin has been forgotten and tossed aside. Which leads me to believe your consumption and distribution of sin has no objective basis...and that leads me to believe that it has more to do with the people you run across. It's not a science, that can be dissected and weighed. It's an art...and that means that your powers react to the feelings of those around you, Lillium. In the same way a painting will be seen differently by everyone who observes, your powers work differently for each person you meet."

Yaksha waved a hand down at himself, then towards the room around them...at which point the manifests all seemed to surge and coalesce towards him, as if they were planning to engulf him from sight. His voice took on deeper, more resonant cadences, as if he were reciting from a play, or reading off of a book.

"I have lied and swindled and performed a great many unsavory deeds, to obtain the money I have. But I am putting it to use in ways that will soon make it all worth the efforts."

Lilium had watched the sin currently present in the room congregate around the TV screen, tapping their small, shivering bodies against it like a moth to a flame. It didn’t attract enough for an overflow, but it got her a bit wary nonetheless. She did try to look at Yaksha, hard she tried, but the scrawling red text ever present on his form only provoked a subtle fear, her preforming a deep swallow as she listened to him speak, not expecting a full answer to her own question.

“Well... Duh! That’s kind of obvious!” The girl thrust her head away, “I-It isn’t from any objective point... There’s no absolute being deciding what’s sin and what’s not..! That’d be dumb..” The girl threw in some hesitant, clearly nervous laughs, as if she was trying to mock the sentiments of objective sin.

She popped open her notebook, having her attention diverted for a solid minute, until the sin began to draw to him, accumulating as a black, powdery storm around his black body, as the girl heaved and ho’d, trying to keep focus while flipping through the filled journal, trying to find the relevant entry.

“I-It’s in here..” She let out a gentle cough, releasing a heavy pant as the signature black fluid dribbled from the corner of her mouth. She felt her body begin to burn, Yaksha would be able to see the darkening of her sclera and streaks of black begin to run down her cheeks.

“F..Found it.” She managed to maintain composure despite her body, core and outward, feeling as if it were roaring in pain, “I-It’s not an objective it’s... It’s off how a person d-deals..” She released another coughing fit, dots of black falling upon the cushions, as she was physically straining for composure, “Deals... With their own s-stuff...”

Bones appeared to prod the clothing upon her back, threatening to burst from the cloth like a seed erupting into a sapling as she clutched her nosebridge, trying to stay composed, “Dont look upon me lesser..”

Yaksha, The Überseele

"Lillium, I cannot think of a single thing you could do that would make yourself lesser in my eyes."

Yaksha took one step forward...two...and already the manifestations seemed to be falling off, to return to their baseline behavior as if they were mosquitos that had suddenly been sprayed down with some sort of chemical. A few drunkenly weaved behind him, as he crouched in front of her, touching a hand to her head. His eyes never moved away from hers, and his other hand rested by his side as he looked into hers, as if seeking something.

Silence went on for long, long moments, seeming to make the entire place feel simultaneously too cramped and too large, to make one wonder if there was something going on just outside of her vision, something very important. But he still sat there, watching her body contort and move, as if he were prepared to watch her transform, overwhelm herself, and then immediately return to normal afterwards. He inhaled slowly, and then rose from her, gesticulating faintly, and then folding his hands in front of his chest, lacing them together. It gave him a prim and proper look, something that almost made him seem like he was a man on the clock, someone who had been sent or empowered by a third party to speak.

"You speak as if there shouldn't be any final arbitrator of right and wrong, but many would disagree with you. There are a great number of people out there who believe that their viewpoint is the only one worth progressing. The sin of pride, at its very worst. An absolute inability to comprehend the possibility that they could be wrong. You will find people who declare that they can see sin, the same way you can...and you will find them far less forgiving than you. Be prepared to accept it, Lillium. People will tell you that they know what makes one good, and what makes them evil. The only option you have available to you with such people is to know the way they think, and use it against them."

He inhaled once more, and then stepped just past her, reaching over her head to flick a switch, turning on a fan somewhere in the room. He walked towards it, looking up, and basking in its motion for a few more long, silent moments, as if he were trying to formulate his next answer.

"I don't have all the answers. I don't think that I can single-handedly fix everything. But I know there are things which I will not stand to see in my world, or any world. And one of those includes seeing others tossed aside, or treated as lesser. There doesn't exist a single person in this world who has found their lives improved as a result of dehumanizing others. Yet it happens, regularly, because there is such...effort involved, in compassion and understanding. And so I invite you to ask yourself, Lillium. If there has ever been such a thing as a person who was not a person. Bad people, smart people, funny people, lazy people...but always people."

The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha] Empty Re: The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha]

Even if the manifests of sin began to disperse, Lilium already had plenty of a fill of them, as Yaksha placed a hand on her head she was in a state of stall; she could listen, but she could not do or say. She was far too focused on keeping the sin inside of her at bay, during the long moments of silence. Even if she was stilled, she instinctively averted her gaze, darkened eyes refusing to observe his own. As he spoke the philosophy of those "above", she was down in a silent turmoil, refusing to allow the sin to rush forth.

"Have you learned nothing, young Danava?" She heard him; she heard Lucine's voice, as if she were a person right behind her, she could hear his soft yet assertive voice, whispering into her ears as her hands slowly rose to cover her face, "Don't have me give you a more tense lesson; You mustn't hold back, you mustn't fear.. He's already given you verbal clearance, Danava, you have no reason to fear or resist. Let it flow forth, or you will hurt far gre-"

Without visible warning or reason, Lilium proceeded to burst forth, her black and white wings expanding from her back within mere seconds, several more bony, muscle-tied appendages following it's exit from her back. Whatever fragile furniture within the room was not spared, the rush in power causing any unsecured delicates to simply fall to the floor and smash, causing a mess of whatever wasn't broken to drop to the ground.

It was as if she were shocked awake, a never before seen spurt of energy came from her as she paced over to Yaksha, having begun to run her mouth the second she was pulled thoroughly back into reality.

"Really now? I didn't realize such a horribly obvious fact of life! Oh wait... Yes I did. I've known. Of course i've known, do you really think I, a Danava who represents aspects of humanity, would NOT know that? Well here's a strong reminder, I DO VERY MUCH KNOW, SIR. Just because I know does NOT mean that it is correct, however. The ghastly simpletons who believe they can make their horrifyingly racist, sexist, oppressive, yadda yadda buzzword buzzword... Rules and stand oppose, are always felled. The Egyptians were, the Romans were, insert far too long of a list of pathetic mistakes humanity thinks they can get away with. Pathetically trying to suppress a certain class and make them out to be lesser is absolutely idiotic, yet history continues to prove time and time again it's inhabitants cannot handle difference."

Within her ramble, she had made her way to Yaksha, seamless and not with a drop of fear, speaking everything that came to thought. Her mannerisms had also massively changed from minutes ago, from tucked in like a grovelling child to a more strong and upright position, everything about her body language speaking "higher" and "better" to any who would see. She maintained narrowed eyes and a predatory smile, regardless of how intense her wording and tone got, as if even thinking about it was amusing or adorable.

"All creatures of sentience should indeed be regarded in the broad definition of, well, how you put it, 'people'. Any who think different are absolute fools, yet somehow fools are the winners, and winners write the history. All who succeed the winners think of the losers as the fools, aside from the batch with, oh, actual brains instead of following along blindly with the crowd of sheep falling to their cosmic slaughter, looking upon their stupidity with schadenfreude, as they are alienated from the fools who decide they do not fit the mold. People are amazing in action, yet horrendous in listening."

She looked directly to Yaksha, regardless of how he looked to her, she would retain the same expression of relaxed amusement and poise, "I do terribly hope my answer made it to whatever is in that lizard skull of yours, because I have no intent on repeating myself, Yaksha. If the victors are too stupid to see the definite truth before them, then they are no victor in my eyes, regardless if they have won the war with fists. Do not be an idiotic winner, Vasto Lorde, that is hardly a character I can get behind."

Yaksha, The Überseele

Yaksha continued to speak onwards, intent to let himself be heard, speech overlapping with hers at times; he never changed his tone or his cadence, making one wonder if he had even truly comprehended the fact that he was being spoken to as he was speaking. The words ran over one another, mixing and mingling to create a cacaphony that no one would've been able to comprehend the first word of. As soon as it ended, Yaksha paused, his voice deeply wondrous, almost melodic, as he approached her, drumming a hand against his side.

"You just argued with me, Lillium. You do not even measure in -hours- the number of years I have been alive. And you think you can tell me off."

A faint, soft hissing sound could be heard from him, without rhythm at first but quickly gaining some momentum and comprehensibility as he threw his head back, his other hand moving to his chest, as if holding it in place. And then his mouth opened, causing thick black strands of thread to form across his mouth, revealing a thick purple-and-black tongue as Yaksha began to laugh, the rich deep belly laughs of someone who had -only now- gotten a joke they had heard the day before. A laugh that came only when something snuck completely past your defenses and hit you when you least expected it.

"Holy -shit- Lillium you are going to be perfect. You are going to fuck with the heads of everyone you meet and it's going to be beautiful to watch. I had thought it would take months to get you to come into your prime, but it seems you -really- hate being talked down to, more than I thought. Alright then. Alright. I will explain to you what I thought would be incredibly obvious to a creature such as you, Lillium. The reason that mankind has, up to now, screwed the pooch -royally-..."

Yaksha turned away from her, clapping his hands together, and then walking towards the wall beside him. He pinned a claw against it, and began to run his palm along it slowly, with the sense of ritual, as if it were helping him to clear his mind or to think of the right words, simply to run his hand across a smooth surface over and over. He spoke in short bursts, pausing here and there, as if fishing for words rather than speaking them. It was, in fact, very much unlike every other time he'd spoken.

"Humans have fought and struggled and evolved. And evolution, by its nature, requires us to change to fit our environments. Mankind...stopped. After a time, we decided to change our environments to fit us. We turned evolution against its purpose. We sought to destroy a need for adaptation, and change. Think of how -recent- civilization is, in the grand scheme of things. And look at which civilizations were able to survive the longest. Egyptians? Romans? Ottomans? They were all remarkably similar, in a lot of ways. And look at what, inevitably, each time, led them to their ruins. There were too many people, spanning too large an area...and they measured their lifespans in mere decades. Humans are short-sighted, and they seek to pass on information via written word and word of mouth, rather than genetically. This has the downside that each person tells the story slightly differently. If they had an immortal bard...well. Let's just say Shakespeare would know how to deal with someone as mad as Mana, and leave it at that."

The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha] Empty Re: The Sinful's Advent [Lilium/Yaksha]

Sun Mar 18, 2018 7:30 pm
Lilium had kept her tone strong and proud as she went on a back and forth with the hollow before her, refusing to be beaten back until she finished her words, in which she did indeed manage, her dark, sin-bleeding eyes piercing his own with a remarkable stubbornness and confidence, the complete opposite of what she portrayed before. She let off a short chuckle as he noticed how she argued with him, despite her presence within the world of the living being rather minuscule compared to him.

"You must be joking, right? What does my time on this plane of existence have to do with my ability to argue? I'm a Danava, darling, I have existed long as humanity has.. Even if my time in this form has been rather short, it does not exempt me from speaking my mind."

Her brows raised as she watched the tall white being began to laugh, her ego feeling under threat, though she allowed him to speak, simply to give her the right to retaliation. Though she felt less harmed with the compliments, she proceeded to narrow her eyes as she was silent, listening to him while her wings rested at her sides, like a beautiful, glowing cloak, adorned with white and black feathers.

"I'm well aware of mankind's transcendence into godplay, and refusal to continue adapting, Yaksha. I know of all of it. Do not take me for an ignorant fool, I am far from one despite my normal demeanor. People are far too eager to change what is here, than change themselves, I know. I've observed the situation of your kind, and it has suffered from that issue for since the Gotei formed, though, that made me go into brief thought; if there weren't many Shinigami, much less an organized group, then why is humanity still in existence?"

She grinned, cocking her head to the side, as she proceeded on this thought, "If hollows are truly these bloodthirsty creatures, then the sheer lack of shinigami coupled with disorganization, along with how many people would die with regrets or angers to keep them hooked to this world... If ALL hollows had only the primitive desire to feed, for their entire existences, humanity would be far from smoldering ashes.." She released a hefty cackle, hands pressed against her chest, "And these fools prance around like they're high and mighty, when their first attempt of organization was a band of battle-starved barbarians!"

She went into a fit of laughter, her body shaking as feathers shed from her wings, though the avian forms sprouted from her back did not seem to lose feathers. Without warning or reason, the girl was suddenly pressed against his white body, one of her wings cloaked around his legs, in which would feel softer and warmer than any wool or cotton in existence. Her arms were wrapped around one of his own bony forms, running her hands against the long limb as she sighed contently. She didn't need his permission or say, she simply did because she goddamn wanted to.

"...Do not falter, Yaksha. Remain a being I can respect and stand with. Your cause is plenty noble, yes, but the wrong step can lead you into a path of looking like a blithering idiot, no better than who you oppose. This me, that you like, that you see as perfect, is not my common me. I'm filled to the brim with pride, your pride, so I may be back to my whimpering mess in whatever amount of time, in fact I feel a lurch for rest now... Though I am not damn sleeping."

She gently shook her head, batting her eyes quickly, as she got back into focus, "I am willing to stand with you, but it is an at-will relationship; I will leave anytime you decide to be a fool, so simply do not be one. Would be an absolute shame to forsake your race's welbeing for selfish pursuits..."

"You come to me for lessons, and then begin to insist that you already know everything I have to learn. A less understanding sort would think you were wasting his time, Lillium."

His tone was wry, faintly delighted, more amused than upset, though the nature of each word made it seem very much like he was trying to chastise her. He unfurled his own wings, letting them eclipse hers effortlessly, parts even phasing through cement and glass to be seen outside. He loomed over her, listening to her every word, and then nodding ever so slightly.

"Pride is what I am, Lillium. It's a simple fact. I have worked hard for what I have, and to let it remain buried and secreted away is, in -my- eyes, the more unforgivable of sins. I will spare you the lessons you so obviously know, since it would serve only to frustrate you, rather than enlighten. Right now, at least. Let's simply agree that, if you're able to harness this form more often, and for longer periods...then you will be the greatest ally I have."

He looked out the window, sighing ever so slightly as he did, hands once more folded over his chest in a strangely demure way. He swayed back and forth ever so slightly as he spoke, like he was drunk, but his words were calm and precise without any hint of slurring or pausing. Somehow, something within him seemed to have switched on from hearing Lillium speak to him in such confident terms.

"I have walked my path for thousands of years, and looked the fool for great portions of it. To be written off as moronic is one of the greatest strengths a man can hope to harness, if they are intelligent enough to do it. As for being better than who I oppose...I don't -oppose- anyone, Lillium. Perhaps they would disagree, or choose to oppose me, but I see no need to make enemies of others. I wish only to see the people of all worlds free to stand across from one another, and declare themselves to be peers. I wish for a world where no one need crush, or feel crushed, to survive. There are so very many worlds, and so very many opportunities for us to come to an understanding. But for that to happen, there are...certain parties I must silence first. But not through violence. That would only provide them...further evidence of their cause. I will calmly, patiently, and without any malice..."

At this point he rose up a hand, coiling it into a fist, his voice turning sweet, dulcet, almost sing-song as he clenched it hard enough for blood to trickle down.

"Corner them. I'll apply gentle pressure, with my velvet glove, until they're suffocating to death, and can't even find it in themselves to beg me to stop. I'll make them face their own extinction with a smile, Lillium. And when they pass, and their cause has been dashed to bits...then we can finally start talking like adults."
