This guy was pretty ok, save for the fact that he was pratically looking Nel up and down like his sunday night steak dinner. At least, to Hayden it seemed that way. But for what it was worth seeing Nelliel get out and interact with people, along with her seemingly looking like she was enjoying herself- it made this small incursion slightly less annoying. But there some tension between what was seen and said, at some point he debated the proper course of action.
Needless to say, it was the
Desmond Hayden and some steps should be taken. An easy smile seemed to pass onto the king's face, relaxed even to a degree even after hearing Nel choke on what he guessed was alcohol. His own callous fingers extending taking it, holding the thermos up idly as he spoke. "Aye, the land is beautiful with vast tracks of land. But one should admire in earnest, too much of something can be bad."
With those ambiguous words Hayden would take the thermos drinking two large gulp about as majestic as one could from a thermos. The dull burn quickly fading just from raw fortitude among other tidbits. But he'd hand the thermos back to Alex, emerald eyes very intently focused on the male for a moment. There was a level of reproach in them, fun and kind hearted sure, but nothing that he wanted to force into an issue.
With that being said he'd shift a step towards Nel since he stepped away briefly, perhaps out of some sense of caution. He had spoken earlier how he did not wish to see her be leer'd at, admittedly caught in a limbo of admitting it and not. But the smile never left his face despite the underlying emotion to his words; the king was definitely protective of the woman.
"That is quite the story, I admit the damn'd thing reminds me of my younger years.. sorta familiar too.." He'd remark rubbing his chin, before quickly shifting his gaze from the lunchbox to Alex. "You did admittedly catch us at a weird time, we where going to go to the beach- to swim. If you're for the sorta thing." With that being said a singular arm would find it's self around her back, on her waist in a friendly manner. It was out of the norm for Hayden but, something told him to do it.
This Alex guy was a wild card to say the least, with a habit to let his eyes wander. But no man was without flaws, but Hayden was at least confident in his own reputation that the man would at the very least not be too forward. Particularly after the underlying aggression one might display if it came to be, then again- who knew.
"And it's a damn sorcher today."
