Song: Funkyard - By: Arrowhead & Zentra - Word Count: N/A

Well, today had gone from relaxing with dear daughter Aki, to Ulv dropping by and giving her someone who could possibly be the child of herself and Mana; but was certainly the child of Mana. However, she had been unconscious from the moment that Ulv had brought Calypso here; unconscious and apparently very sensitive to emotions. Of course, most demons were generally sensitive to emotions; but Calypso seemed to be even more so sensitive than normal. Ari could only let out a small sigh as she simply pet Calypso as she lay on her couch; Ulv already gone so she wouldn't collapse on the spot. Simply put, Calypso was in Arianda's care now. The demon could only let out a tiny sigh before she kissed Calypso on the forehead, without even thinking about it, and went into the kitchen to make some food for the girl.

Yes, Arianda Vael, Angel of Conflict, was going to cook. A dangerous task. For her. But, assuming that Calypso needed some food when she woke up, Arianda needed to brave the dangers that awaited her inside of the kitchen. What were those dangers one may ask? Oh, nothing too severe really. Just explosions of flour that inexplicably happen whenever Ari is cooking. However, such concerns weren't at the forefront of Arianda's mind as she went into the kitchen; to cook a simple meal for Calypso. Well, attempt to cook a simple meal for Calypso.

Frankly, as soon as Arianda entered her kitchen, she crackled with red energy; which she soon had to wave away as the woman started to nervously work on something simple. She had no idea what Caly ate, so, she just about made anything she could. Animal products, non animal products, vegetables, salads; the works. Just any dish that she could think of that either did not include flour and may taste good for Caly. However, as soon as Arianda finished with the last dish; she breathed a sigh of relief.

The second that sigh of relief escaped Arianda's lungs, and mouth, a sudden loud popping filled the room as flour exploded around the entire kitchen; only covering Ari and everything else BUT the food she just made. Regardless, there was a cloud of flour rising from the kitchen; slowly flooding out of the room to be seen by anyone outside of the kitchen. Of course, it was simply a white cloud; but why there would be a white cloud of flour just floating inside of someone's house was definitely. DEFINITELY, weird.

"Damn... And here I thought I had it this time..."

She felt ready to wake up, finally, after a week of slumber. She felt great guilt towards Ulv, mainly for attacking her, or so she understood. She had foggy memories of the actual conflict, but spent the 7 days consuming the metaphysical energies to regain what she had totally burned out. She would have woken up sooner, but, she felt the desire to stay asleep a little longer, just channeling old bad habits of wanting to escape responsibility of the waking world. But..

Something exploded. Thankfully it wasn't her, but it definitely got her eyes popped open. She sat up quickly, additional limbs extending from her body as she climbed over the couch and immediately rushed to where she heard the explosion. Though halfway through her rush she realized she had no idea where the hell she even was, but knowing what made that noise worried her more.

And soon, she was presented with a flour-filled room, and a woman standing covered in white, a counter full of freshly prepared food. Calypso tilted her head, tapping her chin.

"Did I wander into someone's dream without realizing it? No... Wait. That's not right."

She sighed and shook her head, looking at the massive mess, ".. Well miss, you look okay. Let me see if I can clean this up.."

She reached her hand out to the floor, quietly thinking of what to say, before nodding and making her wish clear, "I wish this mess was off of everything!"

Her energy flared to life, purple fire-like energy engulfing the room, lifting the flour with ease, and raising it off of everything it, however... Even if the flour literally raised above the kitchen, as soon as the energy dispersed, it came raining back down, right back onto anyone and anything beneath it.

"...Damn it."

The flour easily slipped off her body, no movement needed for her flesh to repel it, but she looked awkwardly to the woman, covering her face in embarrassment, "I guess I spoke a bit too literally, huh?"

Arianda coughed as she had to do her best not to get any flour in her mouth. Flour just tasted horrible on its own after all. However, soon, Calypso herself came rushing into the room; with Arianda turning to look at her and smiled sheepishly.

"Ohhhhh~! Hey Calypso! Sorry about the uh, flour explosion. Happens whenever I cook"

Arianda gestures to the food that the flour was around; but soon covered as Calypso tried to lift the flour, Ari tried to wave her hands to stop her. But, it was too late. She rose the flour up into the air, even the flour on Ari, but it all soon dropped back down and really did cover everything. The demon simply sighed, shaking herself a tiny bit before she clapped her hands as her energy, red and crackling against itself and the flour, gathered up the flower and compressed it into a ball; Ari letting out a small sigh as she brushed herself off. Arianda soon took the ball of compressed, solid, flour out of the air and then threw it into the trashcan. She let out a soft sigh before she looked at Calypso and smiled.

"Well, wishes are fickle after all; It's how Jinn were able to twist their masters wishes to their whim. But, uh, are your powers based around wishing? Last time I saw you, I didn't get much aside from getting saved from being tired from one of Mana's 'fest'; and then an unconscious Calypso."

Arianda yawned softly, stretching a tiny bit as she gestured to the food; which was intended for Calypso. She soon took off the apron, which revealed her form and clothes a bit more, before she gently shook small particles of flour out of her black and red hair. Soon enough, Ari, and the kitchen, was flour explosion free.

"Oh, and please don't call me miss~ I'm Arianda, Arianda Vael~ A certain uh, Ulv dropped you off here. Yes I know her, she's technically an old friend, I'd rather not go into that right now! But, how bout you eat? Even if you are a demon, and we don't technically need food, sometimes it can be nice."

Arianda smiled at Calypso, pulling her feet up off the ground as she crossed her legs and sat on air for a few moments before she dropped down onto a nearby counter; realizing maybe now wasn't the time for floating around. But, she simply looked towards Calypso with her silver eyes, waiting for some sort of response from the girl; hoping she would eat and not complain too much about how Ari easily removed the flour from the area.

The girl, with flour still falling off her cleaning body, looked curiously at the woman before her. How did she know her name? She realized such a thing as soon as she was done feeling bad about how her wish technically made the mess worse. She was a little too literal with how she thought out her wish, not being very clear of where the flour was supposed to go after being taken off everything. She had to get better at thinking of her wishes on the spot, her power was a weird one.

She stared curiously at the woman, feeling like she had seen her before, as she mentioned Jinn and then... Her eyes widened as she quickly remembered the bloodied, weakened woman her mother told her to inject strange emerald fluids into when she was younger and far more afraid of things. Her heart fluttered as she felt a sense of guilt settle in after the kitchen was so easily cleaned by her; She hardly thought of this woman after that event. In some contexts, Calypso even silently prayed that the entire ordeal was just some horrible dream. She didn't even think about how the lady before her was doing afterwards, after seeing her in such a state.

Arianda, Arianda was her name...
She didn't even know it...

Calypso's face soured into a saddened look, her golden eyes glazed with visible guilt, as they filled to the brim with literal waterfalls of gold. She covered her mouth, her head tipping down, as she sobbed gently, uttering quiet apologies and shaking her head side to side,

"M-miss Arianda... I-I'm sorry... I didn't think about you after that horrible day.."

She spoke softly, her voice breaking as she spoke,

"I didn't even look for you, miss Arianda.. I tried to forget that day ever happened... I-I didn't even think to make sure you were OK, after I blacked out... I'm so sorry.. I've been terrible..."

She looked meekly towards the food, a heavy feeling set in her stomach cavity as tears continued to drip all over the floor, already forming quite the beautiful golden puddle around her feet, "..I-I'm sorry, but I don't really eat physical things... I don't eat animals, and I don't eat plants. I'm afraid i'm disrespecting them in their death, their corpses once had a mind, I feel, at least for animals. I'm too scared to chance plants."

Oooopsie! Arianda had no intention of making Calypso cry. She believed that Calypso just, well, forgot about that day; which she could not blame her for. Arianda was in a terrible state after Mana had a little feasting fest. She squeaked and moved over to the girl, a little surprised by the golden tears, but, she pulled the small woman into a hug and gently rubbed the back of her head.

"Nooo! It's fine, really. You had no idea who I was; so I can't blame you for not even checking up on me. It indeed was a horrible day, but, for me... it... it was nothing out of the ordinary. But!"

Arianda smiled at Calypso, gingerly petting the girl's head as she smiled at her; having hopefully pulled the girl into a reassuring hug.

"It really is alright, so stop crying; okay~? You hold no blame; besides, you technically did help me. What you gave me, that liquid, helped me recover some. So, it really is fine. You are not terrible, young one."

Arianda smiled at Calypso again, letting the girl move towards the food. To Arianda's disappointment, and surprise, she wasn't too keen on eating food from animals and plants. Arianda hummed softly, reaching into the fridge and pulling out a bar of chocolate. She looked at it for a few moments before she extended the bar to Calypso and smiled warmly.

"What about chocolate~? Sure, we don't need to eat as demons, but, it can be nice; and if chocolate is something you can eat, well~"

Arianda opens up the fridge again, showing the fact that one side was completely stuffed full of chocolates of all sorts. Basically, if it existed as a type of chocolate, Arianda had it. Not only because the demon, even while she has retreated from shadowfall, is rich; but also because she has what would normally be an unhealthy obsession with chocolate. Arianda gave Calypso one more warm smile before she shut the door and popped her neck; picking up the plates and putting them in a different section of the fridge. Just for Ari to eat later; it helped when she didn't have to cook.

"So, Calypso, if you are Mana's child... Well... Ah, nevermind. That's a question for later when you are, well, more composed."

Tears continued rolling down her face in copious amounts as her eyes glanced towards Ari, sniffling and rubbing her face, her tears seeming to easily seep away into her clothing without a trace, as the woman comforted her, giving her a pat on the head, and surprisingly, into a hug. Caly was surprised; as far as she could sense, this woman didn't have any apparent blood ties, yet being hugged by her gave her a similar feeling to being hugged by Sis...

Her tears slowed as the woman reached into the... Strangely overstocked fridge, pulling out some kind of bar. The moment Ari revealed it to be chocolate, Caly's eyes were immediately filled with shock as she grasped it out of her hands, "Chocolate can be in bars?! How did I not know this!"

Most chocolates she'd ever seen were in little balls, had nuts, or generally were more in small morsel sizes, not in BAR form. This was just an amazing discovery to her as she immediately started eating away at it, a laugh in her throat as the girl clearly was feeling far better rather quickly. She leaned on one of the counters, chewing away at her new little discovery, as she heard Ari mention something about if she was Mana's child.

"..Yeah i'm Mama's child, what about it...?"
She stared at the woman, confused, but obviously filled with a sadness towards Mana being mentioned, "..Keep saying your question, i'll be fine."

Arianda smiled softly, glad Calypso had calmed down in her arms. It was... oddly comforting to Ari to hold the girl in her arms like this. It was a little hard to put her finger on why she felt like this, but all concern on that matter was blown away when Caly immediately yoinked the chocolate bar straight out of her hand; utterly amazed that chocolate existed in a bar. Arianda let out a soft giggle as she pet the girl while she marveled over the solid bar of chocolate. She nodded at the woman, humming softly as she pet Caly still.

"Indeed, it comes in a bar. Hell, chocolate can come in bars bigger than that; I just get these small ones because it's easier to control how many I eat with just these smaller bars."

Arianda nodded at the girl, humming softly until the question she had asked seemed to sour the girl's laughing mood. Arianda sighed softly, a little guilty for bringing up a touchy situation; but her stomach had butterflies in it. Sure, Mana did have loads of people to fuck; but she normally was the dominant force. Ari, however, had a chance where she was able to take the lead; and that night ended in a destroyed city block, house, Mana's hip, and possibly even more. Mana getting pregnant with Ari's child; but she never had any real way of knowing. After that day, Mana mentioned not a word; but then Caly appeared as if out of nowhere. Besides, Ari felt an odd sensation to care for the girl; and something familiar. She cleared her throat gently, letting out a gentle sigh before she looked at Caly, pulling a bar of chocolate out of the fridge and extended it to Caly as she spoke.

"Well... despite the situation you found me in, Mana and I were relatively close despite the fact I am pretty sure I was a toy. And, well, a certain night led to certain things; and it was very well possible that I knocked up Mana Asthavon..."

Arianda looked towards Caly still, her heart thumping; she hadn't told a soul about that night. Mostly because an older part of her who loved Mana more than anything had hoped it to be true; and because Ari didn't want to believe she abandoned her child to be left with Mana on accident.

"Now... I have no concrete evidence she did get pregnant; but it wasn't like she would tell me, or you I bet. However, it could be possible that you are that child; after all, the time between that night and your birth would not matter. Mana could have simply jumped into a time rift, pop you out, and act like nothing happened. I just..."

Arianda let out a small sigh, rubbing her arm gently and looking away from Caly.

"If you are my child, mine and Mana's... Well, I ask you to think about that. There's something familiar about you that I have not been able to shake; and it's not any lingering Mana... I know it's something else..."

Arianda shook her head, sighing one last time before chuckling softly.

"Sorry... just think about it. Whether you are my child or not, you can stay here as much, and as long, as you like. You are Mana's child, and I can at least try and help you how I can; since I could not help her."

Arianda smiled at Caly, basically asking her to stay here; to stay in her home. Of course, Ari also seemed to be acting like she wanted to take Caly in because she was Mana's; but it was also because Ari wanted to know if she really could be her child. She didn't want to abandon the girl to be alone; especially not alone with her emotions.

Caly was respectful, listening to Ari as she proceeded to ask her question, nodding softly when Arianda had acknowledged she was likely just a toy. Calypso knew that was probably how her mother viewed this woman, and many others that broke her apathy and into interest. Caly didn't catch that woman's interest, but it wasn't necessarily a good thing on her psyche to be ignored by the closest member of her family she could have, at least before Algos was in the picture.

Though as Arianda continued, the conversation only got... Weirder, and weirder. Ari mentioning 'a certain night with certain things', Caly's rather jovial face sinking and settling into a confused and mildly shocked expression as she was quickly letting onto the implications of the woman's words. Her mouth slightly agape, she tilted her head down in silence, her eyes darting to and fro thinking about all of this. Her heart quickened in it's place in her chest, her breathing racing as she couldn't help but think about it..

Thinking about it.. That was the thing about memories; the second the information has crept into your brain, there's no conscious way to remove it. And this information was something.. Something, that would stick.. For quite a long while. Caly quickly reached her hands out in a blocking motion towards Ari, the bewildered girl looking the woman in the face from her vulnerable position,

"No, no.. I mean.. Not no.. I just..
" She was bent over trying to get her thoughts together, taking in a deep breath, and sighing,

"L-listen, miss Ari... You're nice, you're friendly, it's all well and good but..." She knew her next statement would hurt, "..Even if you were my blood mom, I just.. Feel it's a little too late for it. Like..."

Her gaze appeared dark for a moment, almost like anger flashed in her eyes quick rapidly transitioned into sadness, "..I'm not really a baby or anything.. And.. I already have a weird idea of a parent.. I just, need a friend, not a mom..."

She slumped down onto the floor, sighing, "..Don't be mad or anything.. I don't feel like I can just settle down and sit with that."

Arianda was a little surprised at Caly's sudden outburst of 'No'. Sure, it probably was all a bit overwhelming, especially the whole thing about Ari possibly being Caly's other parent. However, Caly did not wish to have a mom. No, her idea of mother's might be twisted and tainted by Mana; thanks to dear ol Mana Asthavon being quite the pill when it comes to proper parenthood. Indeed, Ari would be genuinely surprised if Mana even gave two shits about the children she may have; then again, she probably would if they were useful to her. Clearly, Caly was not one of those. That was a good thing for the girl who had soon slumped down in front of Ari. The demon blinked at her before smiling and moving to to be in front of Caly.

"No, it's alright; and I'm not angry. After Mana... Well, I doubt you want a mother because of her. I know you want a friend, but, if I truly am your other parent... well, I'm sure it could be done. However..."

Arianda looked at Caly intently. It's likely she wouldn't be able to be like 'oh yeah, this is my daughter alright; she has my eyes!' Because demons can shift their appearance at will; and what they look like is largely not completely dependent on their genetic makeup. So, Arianda let out a tiny sigh; humming softly as she did. Well, there was a few things to consider; maybe only two. Regardless, if Caly was indeed Arianda's progeny, her own flesh and blood; then that would mean they are certainly related. However, it would also mean, from a genetic standpoint, that Arianda was not the mother, per se; she was the paternal figure. While, in truth, Arianda is still technically a Mother, because she is female, she could still be Caly's paternal figure; she just wouldn't want to be called father or dad. She's a woman, that would be weird! So, she smiled at Caly and took the girl's hands into her own.

"Well, I can't exactly just give up at the drop of a hat dear. How bout this, if you do not wish for me to be a maternal figure; then I could be your paternal figure. Even if the paternal figure normally is male; technically speaking if you and I are mother and child... That would make me the paternal figure on a genetic level. So, what I ask is this..."

Arianda gave Caly a warm smile, holding her hands still.

"How bout I be your paternal figure, Caly~? Just... don't call me dad or father; that would be weird cuz I'm still a woman... Also, you really do not have to call me miss; just Ari is perfectly fine."

Arianda gave Caly a ginger kiss on the forehead before she grinned at her.

"Besides, can't a father-figure be a good friend to their daughter?"
