[EXPANDING IDEAS FOR SHADIN ]
Why Shadin Should Have This Power: I feel Shadin is deserving of this power because I've proven over a course of ten years that I haven't had much abuse of his power. I do feel I can be trusted with this power because I know from experience the weight a character with this type of ability and tier level carries and I'm not one to rashly abuse or make light of it. Add to the fact that Shadin is designed to be a pivotal character in the PH Verse and I do feel he has earned his rank over the years. If something comes up in a fight thread with Shadin, I don't mind staff overlooking it because most 0-1 characters are under heavy watch and Shadin is no different.
Imaginary Computation: The bases for Imaginary Computation started with the altering of Shadin's body as a part of the Yuudeshi Experiment to create a vessel powerful enough to alter the world for the better. When Shadin started to augment his body with cybernetic attachments, it injected a plethora of data into his mind that took years to process and translate into his soul as he started to understand the existence and reality of the world. Therefore, his mind started to have a blueprint of his the supernatural, spiritual and physical realms interacted with each other because The Yuudeshi Network had such a powerful cluster of knowledge being input into it at every waking day and he was synchronized to it.
Ergo, when he stripped away the elements of his former powers, his personal reality started to alter and change until the particles of his energy acted as a medium to influence the world with this data that is sealed and infused in them from this experiment. This then transformed and evolved the body of Shadin to have a form of quantum power in the sense of being able to influence microscopic examinations of the world. In turn, with the heavy amount of processing power that his augmented brain and The Yuudeshi Network possess, he is able to process this knowledge and ability to otherwise formulate his own alternative reality into existence.
RulesRule 1. Shadin can only manage 4 different abilities at a given time when it comes to executing functions of Imaginary Computation. It is recommended that he use less to avoid overloading his mind, but the option is available in troublesome situations that are reserved for powerful opponents who require a heavy amount of firepower to deal with. With that said the fewer abilities he has active at a given time, the more potent and less prone to any instability that may occur as he can give his focus and attention to the alterations or creations he is producing into reality.
Rule 2. In order to influence, manipulate or create something; Shadin must have prior knowledge or data on it. This is primarily why Imaginary Computation is such a loathsome ability because of the fact that it has
Rule 3. Release Stages are needed to prevent him from burning himself out in combat.
IC Protocol RV0 - Imaginary Protocol Release Version Zero. This is simply a state that is referred to when Shadin doesn't actively have Imaginary Computation in use. This is often done to conserve power on his part or to let him cool off since it takes a lot of active focus to control.
IC Protocol RV1 - Imaginary Protocol Release Version One. This is effectively his "base" and deals with most functions that are tethered to the physical plane of existence. While in RV1 state, Shadin is often able to interact with functions related to hard physics. This means that his particles of energy can execute functions that related to the different molecules which exist in the known world and can induce different effects on the world around him. One such example is that he can execute a series of commands to adjust the world around him to become hotter by altering the motion of molecules and atoms to otherwise melt or burn through the material if he focuses in on it for an attack. Generally speaking, however, the more complex the command, the more energy and mental processes it will drain from him. So he tends to stick to basic alterations if at all possible.
IC Protocol RV2 - Imaginary Computation Release Version Two. Now, this is considered a powered state of Imaginary Computation. Effectively, it allows Shadin access to the functionality needed to alter the metaphysical world around him. When that occurs, more energy drain is noticed from his body since he is focusing a lot more effort, energy and mental focus needed to execute these functions into existence as they don't come as naturally to him given they are supernatural in nature. However, the particles of his energy can influence the world around him by producing barriers,
IC Protocol RV3 - Imaginary Computation Release Version Three. This is effectively the final release of Imaginary Computation. This is where he is able to produce elements of his own mind into reality and where Imaginary Computation gets more dangerous to use. He is able to produce new matter, molecules and atoms into the world and incorporate it with already existing material to conjure up various creations into existence with his pre-existing knowledge. This becomes important when altering the laws of the world he interacts with since he can impose his own personal reality on it to otherwise overwrite preexisting laws.
So, for example, he could potentially focus his energy to try and create a pulse of energy which seals away energy attacks against him. Or, on something more complex of a scale, he could outright try to fight against the laws of physics to rewrite them in an area. Such as inputting a value that rewrites oxygen to water, fire to ice and so on and so forth. However, unlike his physical protocols, the imaginary functions of this ability can only sustain one or two active applications of this ability at a time given the grand scope of it. Furthermore, if there aren't pre-written abilities, most applications of this power that are free-form are prone to be less potent and less effective in battle. Meaning they can cause drawbacks, strain, and injury to Shadin if he isn't 100% in control. (I'll most likely ask for staff feedback on when I should use this aspect of it as well as I don't want to just use it in combat without proper justification for it.)
Rule 4. The area of effect that Imaginary Computation has is tethered to his power scale. Therefore, he can potentially spread it on a global scale, but that requires permission from the Yuudeshi Network (Staff) for events or threats against the earth itself and is not for personal usage. Therefore, he often tries to keep it on a small scale as possible to prevent overworking himself and feels most comfortable in a range that expands from around his body to two city blocks. Yet, like with other 0 tiers, it can expand if he wishes. It just requires more resources/energy/focus/control that can make it strainful on his body.
Rule 5. Pre-written functions of Imaginary Computation are considered the safest functions of any release of this power. This is because Shadin has already imprinted the values needed that will otherwise result in a safe and probable event. Therefore, this leads to less error, instability or chaos that comes with altering or creating things on the fly. Hence, there are pre-written functions that he sees the most usage out of in order to keep Imaginary Computation more stabilized when in usage. It's when he starts creating new functions or alterations that the rate of failure, instability or drawbacks tend to occur.
Rule 6. The opponents who face Shadin will often know something is wrong with the area around them because there will usually be blurred distortions around them or some kind of white light. This is so other characters can be aware of when Imaginary Computation is in use and it's not something that is invisible or in the background. As this can allow characters to analyze his movements, watch where his influence is coming and potentially take countermeasures when they know Imaginary Computation is coming.
Rule 7. The Electrode that is placed on Shadin's neck (refer to gif) is often used to activate or deactivate his power. It's also a weak point since if it's destroyed or damaged he will either be unable to use Imaginary Computation or risk heavy damage to himself. The reason why this is the case is because his personal reality underwent a massive change when he lost his Ziamichi spirits and the Yuudeshi Network had to calibrate a new system of balance for his power. Therefore, there were instabilities which otherwise made it a hazard if not properly controlled through a series of fine-tuning processes executed through his cybernetic brain and the Yuudeshi Network to help make-up for this imbalance. For reference, it is about as a DES Choker which is used to otherwise subdue and control wanted fugitives of The Yuudeshi/Lux Orior. Rule 8. Shadin's thoughts have a powerful grip on his reality. Ergo, if he is not within full control of his emotions and beliefs these could begin to sweep over into the general health of his body. For instance, when faced with the PTSD trauma of relieving another world war, his powers started to erase him out of reality because of the strong conflict against his intention of wanting to prevent another global hell. It wasn't until Midori managed to calm him down and reassure him with their connection that his existence otherwise tethered itself back to this physical plane. So it can be assumed that distressed states of mind can hamper or make it unable for Shadin to use his ability; such as witnessing certain deaths of people he cares for or other similar events.
Rule 9. If Shadin is fighting something other than himself, then there is a high chance that Imaginary Computation will see a two times enhancement in its capacity. Objectively, this means that he may see the potency of Imaginary Computation augment when he is clearly trying to use its power for either his family's sake, the safety of the people he works for (Lux Orior/Yuudeshi/Earth) or in the name of Truth himself. This is relevant because in his personal reality Imaginary Computation wasn't made just for himself, but rather, the benefit of the planet. And, when he acts in its interest, his personality reality reacts to it and augments itself naturally.
Drawbacks/Weaknesses/LimitsElectrode Weakness: Refer to Rule 7 in his powerset. If that electrode is damaged or destroyed, then he may be unable to use Imaginary Computation or he will risk heavy damage to himself.
Active Applications: To repeat: he can only have 4 applications of a physical/metaphysical alteration active at a time in combat. Whereas the imaginary functions limit him to only 1-2 applications and he must only focus on the Imaginary Aspect.
Energy Limitation: Shadin cannot just imagine the whole universe to be gone and it's done. He simply doesn't have the energy output for something like that. Therefore, Imaginary Computation is often limited by the volume of energy that his body has to output to prevent absurd commands such as that from coming into existence.
Reality Suppression: Since Imaginary Computation does fall under reality-warping, it is possible for it to be fought on a magical/supernatural level. What this means is that magic, supernatural powers or other methods that achieve reality manipulation can fight against the laws of Imaginary Computation. For example: a kido user could potentially just create a barrier around themselves in order to prevent the effects of Imaginary Computation from influencing them. It can also be negated by characters who can negate various magic/reality-based phenomena. However, this is not absolute as Imaginary Computation will fight to at least keep some of its potency to prevent it from being 100% negated. So, when it clashes against these powers, it will try to keep 25-50% of it's intended effect if possible depending on the battle.
Logical Cancellation: It is possible to negate, alter or reduce the potency of Shadin's attacks/abilities/influences that use Imaginary Computation by inputting a logical cancellation to it. This refers to otherwise fighting against the logic and personal reality that Shadin is effectively injecting into the world. If you can otherwise prove reasons why it should alter, stop or cease; Imaginary Computation has the potential to have its functions otherwise tampered within a combat scenario. This means that if Shadin attempted to rewrite your own reality, you could defend yourself by using the particles of your own energy/power to try and counter it. And, since most of the world operates sub-consciously, this could potentially be done for a character without them realizing it in some cases. (I.E. in Liu's case she could potentially use her Liberation Flux to try and free herself from some of the damage)
Physical Resistance: If there is enough power and impact behind a physical attack (I.E. spiritual energy), it may be possible to interact with Imaginary Computation. Since it is a supernatural based power, fighting against a punch infused with a high amount of spiritual energy could create a clash of souls if push comes to shove. This does not mean that they will be able to 100% block out his attacks, but it makes it to where there is some give and take among both opponents and not a total stomp out. However, if there is no type of spiritual energy/power behind that punch, it won't work. (I.E. if it's just a regular punch, even with master strength, it won't do anything to IC. But if that punch has some kind of reishi, chi, whatever it may work.)
25% Health/Energy Usage Threshold: It is advised that Shadin have at least 25% of his overall health and energy when using this power. He can dip down when below that threshold, but at risk of his health. As he can begin throwing up blood, losing sight/hearing/touch, he can his bones begin to break or shatter and Imaginary Computation can outright explode against him if he is under enough pressure in this state. So he tends to try and preserve as much as he can above this threshold.
Physical Strain: This can physically strain and wear out Shadin when actively keeping the power activated. This is because it takes energy away from his body and can cause him to tire out quicker when rapidly/constantly using Imaginary Computation. So it may become harder for him to speed around the battlefield without feeling pain/delaying his movement to keep him in place. Additionally, he can suffer random bruising, strain to his organs which can lower his durability when taking attacks and so on and so forth. The pressure of this will often cause him to think more precisely about how to use IC as opposed to randomly just throwing it around without a care in the world.
Mental Strain: It goes without saying that Imaginary Computation takes a heavy amount of will, focus, and intelligence to otherwise wield. It requires a high volume of processing in order to render his effects into reality to influence the world around him. While, at the same time, he needs to be able to convert and calculate all the different functions, estimates, speeds and etc at absurdly fast rates of thought to be able to be effective in a fight. All the while he must keep his head on straight and will himself through any type of pain or discomfort which may be occurring to his mind throughout a fight and keep his personal reality strong.
Ergo, it takes a mental strain wielding this power and can tire him out mentally if he exerts himself too hard and why he tends to keep things on a smaller scale if he can help it before resorting to bigger jumps in feat and power with Imaginary Computation. As when his mental energy is drained, it makes it harder for him to focus on Imaginary Computation and lowers the stability, potency, and control that he has over this power.
Energy Strain: The last influence of Imaginary Computation is that it obviously takes a high energy strain in order to wield. Therefore, Shadin tries to avoid going over the top with it since from his experiments he realized it's limits and how to better optimize it in smaller settings to terminate or diffuse targets without excessive force. This is often why he tries to make the most out of using one or two functions of Imaginary Computation at a time as opposed to his four when he initially grasp the ability.
